Abstract
In this work, a multi-walled carbon nanotube-modified flexible poly(styrene-butadiene) fiber membrane material was prepared for the sensitive and selective electrochemical detection of dopamine (DA) in human serum and DA injection. The flexible fiber membrane prepared by electrospinning technology is expected to realize its application in wearable devices. The obtained conductive film-based electrochemical sensor can effectively minimize interference caused by ascorbic acid and uric acid. Under the optimized experimental conditions of differential pulse voltammetry, DA gives a linear response in the range of 1-650 μM (R2 = 0.996). The detection limit of DA (signal-to noise ratio = 3) was determined to be 0.062 μM.

Abstract
Metal-free insertion of sulfur dioxide with aryl iodides and 3-azido-2-methylbut-3-en-2-ol under ultraviolet irradiation at room temperature is achieved, giving rise to 2-(arylsulfonyl)acetonitriles in moderate to good yields. Alkyl iodide is also workable under these conditions. This transformation proceeds smoothly under mild conditions with a broad substrate scope. Various functional groups are compatible including amino, ester, halo, and trifluoromethyl groups. No metal catalyst or additive is needed during the reaction process. Mechanistic studies show that under ultraviolet irradiation, an aryl radical is generated in situ from aryl iodide, which undergoes subsequent sulfonylation via the insertion of sulfur dioxide leading to arylsulfonyl radical intermediates. Then the arylsulfonyl radical reacts with 3-azido-2-methylbut-3-en-2-ol giving rise to the corresponding 2-(arylsulfonyl)acetonitrile.

Abstract
Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with a size of ~3 nm were placed on a thionine-multiwalled carbon nanotube (Thi-CNTs) conjugate to form a novel AuNP-Thi-CNTs nanocomposite. Its morphology and composition were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The nanocomposite was placed on an electrode and used as a redox-active signaling interface to fabricate a ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor for 17β-estradiol (E2). The potentiostatic insertion method was applied to insert an aptamer against E2 into a thin alkane monolayer to warrant an adequate distance between aptamers. The aptamer against E2 acts as both a collector and separator to specifically bind E2. The electrode displays two peak signals (at +0.50 V vs. SCE for E2; and at -0.32 V for Thi) which increase and decrease, respectively, in the 12 pM to 60 nM E2 concentration range. Therefore, the current ratio can be used to reliably, reproducibly, and sensitively quantify the concentration of E2. Graphical abstract Schematic presentation of a novel AuNP-Thi-CNTs nanocomposite. AuNP-Thi-CNTs showed good electrocatalytic oxidation to E2. AuNP-Thi-CNTs was used as self-redox signal interface to fabricate aptasensor. Dual signals of extrinsic E2 and inner Thi was applied to monitor the concentration of E2.

Abstract
Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells are appealing to resolve the environmental and energy issues but are still heavily inhibited by the dilemma of fabricating effective and durable electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). In this work, highly open Pt3Cu nanoframes and one-dimensional, hollow titanium nitride architectures are both successfully explored and implemented as the new system to replace the traditional Pt-carbon motif. The ORR performance of the obtained electrocatalyst shows specific and mass activities of 5.32 mA cm-2 and 2.43 A mgPt-1, respectively, which are 14.4 and 11.6 times higher than those of the commercial Pt/C. Notably, the novel catalyst also exhibits high stability and a much slower performance degradation than that of the benchmarked Pt3Cu/C with the same durability testing procedures. The comprehensive data confirm that the new type of catalyst possesses a high charge transfer during the ORR process, and the unique structure and synergistic effects between anchored Pt and the support mainly contributes to the high stability. This work provides a strategic method for designing an effective ORR electrocatalyst with desirable stability.

Abstract
Combinatorial synthesis of (E)-β-trifluoromethyl vinylsulfones is accomplished through a reaction of alkynes, Togni reagent, and sodium benzenesulfinates in DMSO under metal-free conditions at room temperature. These compounds are evaluated in several assays against different tumor cells. Some hits are identified against ES-2, HO-8910, and K562. (E)-β-Trifluoromethyl vinylsulfones is accomplished through a reaction of alkynes, Togni reagent, and sodium benzenesulfinates under metal-free conditions. p-Acetylphenyl in R1 has the best activities against several tumor cells.![]()
