Magneto Mixed Convection of Williamson Nanofluid Flow through a Double Stratified Porous Medium in Attendance of Activation Energy

This article aims to develop a mathematical simulation of the steady mixed convective Darcy–Forchheimer flow of Williamson nanofluid over a linear stretchable surface. In addition, the effects of Cattaneo–Christov heat and mass flux, Brownian motion, activation energy, and thermophoresis are also studied. The novel aspect of this study is that it incorporates thermal radiation to investigate the physical effects of thermal and solutal stratification on mixed convection flow and heat transfer. First, the profiles of velocity and energy equations were transformed toward the ordinary differential equation using the appropriate similarity transformation. Then, the system of equations was modified by first-order ODEs in MATLAB and solved using the bvp4c approach. Graphs and tables imply the impact of physical parameters on concentration, temperature, velocity, skin friction coefficient, mass, and heat transfer rate. The outcomes show that the nanofluid temperature and concentration are reduced with the more significant thermal and mass stratification parameters estimation.

Neuro-Computing for Hall Current and MHD Effects on the Flow of Micro-Polar Nano-Fluid Between Two Parallel Rotating Plates

The present works focus on the effects of electric and magnetic fields on the flow of micro-polar nano-fluid between two parallel plates with rotation under the impact of Hall current (EMMN-PPRH) has considered by using Artificial Neural Networks with the scheme of Levenberg–Marquardt backpropagation (ANN-SLMB). The nonlinear PDEs are transformed into nonlinear ODEs by employing similarity variables. By varying different parameters such as coupling parameter, electric parameter, rotation parameter, viscosity parameter, Prandtl number and the Brownian motion parameter, a dataset for recommended ANN-SLMB is produced for numerous scenarios through utilizing homotopy analysis method (HAM). The ANN-SLMB training, testing and validation technique have been used to analyze the approximate solution of individual cases, and the recommended model has matched for confirmation. After that, regression analysis, MSE, and histogram investigations were utilized to validate the proposed ANN-SLMB. The recommended technique is distinguished nearest of the suggested and reference findings, with an accuracy level ranging from 10⁻⁰⁹ to 10⁻¹¹.

On hybrid nanofluid Yamada-Ota and Xue flow models in a rotating channel with modified Fourier law

The present study analyzes the comparison of the Xue and Yamada-Ota models for a hybrid nanoliquid flow in porous media occurring amidst a rotating channel with surface catalyzed reaction. Here, the hybrid nanofluid flow is studied under the effect of Cattaneo Christov (C-C) heat flux and homogenous heterogeneous (Homo-Hetero) chemical reaction with entropy generation minimization analysis. The assumptions of the viscosity of hybrid nanomaterial fluid and variable thermal conductivity are added characteristics to the inimitability of the flow model. Two kinds of nanoparticles, namely single-wall carbon nanotubes and multi-wall carbon nanotubes with ethylene glycol (EG) as the base fluid are considered. Carbon nanotubes possess diverse applications in daily life including energy storage, drug delivery, cancer treatment, tissue generation, platelet activation, magnetic force microscopy, and microwave absorption, etc. Similarity transformations are utilized to translate the modeled problem into the coupled ordinary differential equations. This system of ordinary differential equations is addressed numerically. The graphical outcomes are scrutinized by utilizing the MATLAB software bvp4c function. The results revealed that the velocity profile decreases for the higher rotation parameter while increases for the escalated slip parameter. Furthermore, the fluid concentration and temperature are on the decline for higher surface catalyzed reaction and thermal relaxation parameters respectively.

MHD flow of Carreau fluid over a variable thickness melting surface subject to Cattaneo-Christov heat flux

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to focus on MHD unsteady flow of Carreau fluid over a variable thickness melting surface in the presence of chemical reaction and non-uniform heat sink/source.

Design/methodology/approach

The flow governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary ones with the help of similarity transformations. The set of ODEs are solved by a shooting technique together with the R.K.–Fehlberg method. Further, the graphs are depicted to scrutinize the velocity, concentration and temperature fields of the Carreau fluid flow. The numerical values of friction factor, heat and mass transfer rates are tabulated.

Findings

The results are presented for both Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid flow cases. The authors conclude that the nature of three typical fields and the physical quantities are alike in both cases. An increase in melting parameter slows down the velocity field and enhances the temperature and concentration fields. But an opposite outcome is noticed with thermal relaxation parameter. Also the elevating values of thermal relaxation parameter/ wall thickness parameter/Prandtl number inflate the mass and heat transfer rates.

Originality/value

This is a new research article in the field of heat and mass transfer in fluid flows. Cattaneo–Christov heat flux model is used. The surface of the flow is assumed to be melting.

Entropy Generation and Activation Energy Impact on Radiative Flow of Viscous Fluid in Presence of Binary Chemical Reaction

The main theme of this paper is to investigate entropy generation analysis for unsteady three-dimensional flow of viscous (Newtonian) fluid between two horizontal parallel plates. Lower plate is porous and stretching while upper plate squeezed downward. Further effects of nonlinear thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, heat source/sink and activation energy are accounted. Entropy generation rate calculated in terms of thermal radiation, fluid diffusion and fluid friction. Transformations procedure used lead to reduction of PDE’s into ordinary ones. Built-in-Shooting technique is used for the computational analysis. Impacts of different flow variables on temperature, velocity, concentration, volumetric entropy generation and Bejan number are discussed and presented through graphs. Temperature and concentration gradient are discussed numerically. It is examined from obtained results that velocity of liquid particle decays through larger estimation of squeezing parameter. It is also examined that temperature distribution enhances for higher estimation of radiative heat flux. Moreover temperature and concentration gradient increase for larger squeezing parameter.
