Abstract
A novel strategy for the catalytic synthesis of 2-aryl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazoles bearing a wide range of functional groups in good to excellent yields by non-noble molybdenum-catalyzed deoxygenative heterocyclization of 2-nitroazobenzenes is described. The salient features of the transformation include the use of readily available substrates, valuable products and ease of scale-up. The mechanistic study indicates that the reaction occurred via double deoxygenation by the Mo(VI)/Mo(IV) catalytic cycle from 2-nitroazobenzene, through the formation of 2-aryl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole-N1-oxide or nitrene intermediates.

Abstract
Solvent-free mechanical milling is a new, environmentally friendly and cost-effective technology that is now widely used in the field of organic synthesis. The mechanochemical solvent-free synthesis of furoxans from aldoximes was achieved through dimerization of the in situ generated nitrile oxides in the presence of sodium chloride, Oxone and a base. A variety of furoxans was obtained with up to a 92% yield. The present protocol has the advantages of high reaction efficiency and mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
Noncatalyzed, regio- and stereoselective hypochlorite oxidation of 3-aminothieno[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxamides is presented. Unexpectedly, the oxidation proceeded by different mechanistic pathways, and different products were formed, depending on the nature of solvents used. A possible mechanism, the structure of products, kinetics and dynamics of intramolecular processes, and biological activity of products are discussed.

Abstract
Electrosynthesis of 2H‐2‐(aryl)benzo[d]‐1,2,3‐triazoles and their N‐oxides from 2‐nitroazobenzene derivatives is reported. The electrolysis is conducted in a very simple undivided cell under constant current conditions with a leaded bronze cathode and a glassy carbon anode. The product distribution between 2H‐2‐(aryl)benzo[d]‐1,2,3‐triazoles and their N‐oxides can be guided by simply controlling the current density and the amount of the charge applied. The reaction tolerates several sensitive functional groups in reductive electrochemistry. The usefulness and the applicability of the synthetic method is demonstrated by a formal synthesis of an antiviral compound.

1-Arylazo-substituted 2-naphthylamines, which are easily obtainable by the coupling of arene diazonium salts with 2-aminonaphthalene-sulfonic acid, can be transformed by reaction with reactive carboxylic acid derivatives or nitrosation reagents into novel 2-aryl-substituted naphtho[2,1-e][1,2,4]triazinium and naphtho[2,1-e][1,2,3,4]tetrazinium salts, respectively.
