Abstract
In this scoping review of the literature, we identified the types and the parameters of objective measurements to assess sleep patterns among night-shift workers. We conducted a literature search using electronic databases for studies published from 1991 to 2020 and charted and summarized key information. We included 32 studies in the review. Polysomnography was used in 6 studies and wearable sleep detection devices were utilized in 26 studies. The duration of sleep assessment using the wearable devices ranged from 1 day to ≥4 weeks, and more than half of the studies collected data for >2 weeks. The majority of the studies used subjective questionnaires, such as the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, in addition to objective sleep measurements. Total sleep time was the most common parameter, followed by sleep efficiency, sleep onset latency, and time or frequency of being awake. As the utilization of wearable devices to assess the sleep patterns of night-shift workers is expected to increase, further evaluation of device accuracy and precision, optimal data collection period, and key parameters is warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It is well-established that sleep regulates immune functions. Immunological functions are dependent on circadian rhythms and regular sleep as both have an impact on the magnitude of immune responses following antigenic challenge (eg, in vaccination). Here we investigated whether nocturnal shift work can influence post-vaccination response. METHODS Thirty-four healthy workers (23 females) working either nocturnal or diurnal shifts (17 in each group) received the meningococcal C meningitis vaccine. Sleep was recorded polysomnographically (PSG) and with actigraphy. Humoral and cellular responses were assessed after vaccination. RESULTS Night workers showed decreased N3 stage and REM sleep duration, increased inflammatory mediators (TNF-α and IL-6 levels), and a weak specific humoral response to vaccination associated with reduced CD4 T lymphocytes, reduced plasmacytoid dendritic cells, reduced prolactin levels, increased TReg and increased IL-10 levels. In addition, the decrease in total sleep time and circadian rhythm alterations were associated with a reduced humoral response post-vaccination. CONCLUSIONS Our findings provide novel evidence concerning immune alterations of shift work on workers' health based on real-life circumstances. In association with circadian components, sufficient sleep time and rhythm synchronization were important for the development of the Ag-specific immune response, suggesting that the humoral response to vaccination may be impaired in individuals with chronic sleep restriction and circadian misalignment.

Abstract
Background: A high level of organizational well-being improves employee performance and influences the physical and mental health of healthcare providers and students. Objective: This study investigates the relationship between the work context, organizational well-being, and the psychophysical health of healthcare providers. Methods: A multicentre cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on a sample of healthcare providers (physicians and nurses) and healthcare students (medical students and nursing students). A self-report questionnaire was administered between September and November 2016. Results: Of the 300 questionnaires administered, 201 (67%) were correctly completed. Overall, both the physical and mental health of the healthcare providers and students are explained by the variables of the organizational context: organizational well-being and socio-demographic/work characteristics. In particular, the results show a dependence on gender and age. Furthermore, decision latitude had a positive effect on physical health (b=.134) while job demands had a negative effect (b=-.160) explaining 21% of the PCS of the healthcare providers and students (R2=.209). Mental health improved via the satisfaction (b=.345), and positivity (b=.222) of healthcare professionals and students of these disciplines. Discussion: The results are significant because they directly impact the quality of care provided as well as patient safety.

Abstract
Background Employees are one of the key elements of an organization and measure the quality of life (QoL) provides reliable assessment of health and wellbeing in this population. This study aimed at investigating the QoL in a large sample of Iranian industrial manufacturing employees and its determinants. Methods In a cross-sectional study conducted was in 2015, 3063 people were selected among 16000 Esfahan Seal Company's employees using multistage cluster sampling. QoL was evaluated by EQ-5D questionnaire, mental health by GHQ-12, physical activity by IPAQ, job stress by Effort-Reward Imbalance questionnaire. Self-report questionnaire was used for gathering demographic characteristics. Multilevel latent class regression analysis was used for data analysis using R (3.4.3). Results The mean (SD) age of the study participants was 36.74 (7.31), and 91.5% of them were males. The mean (SD) sleep duration was 7.11 (1.17), and 95.4% of the participants had normal mental health. Latent class analysis classified employees into two classes (high (82.4%) and low QoL (17.6%)). Also employees' job categories classified into high and low QoL classes (79.55% and 20.45%, respectively). Latent class regression showed that lower age (OR=0.93; P< 0.0001), being male (OR=1.75; p=0.009), lower levels of education (OR=2.1; P< 0.0001), normal mental health (OR=12.4; P< 0.0001), higher sleep duration (OR=1.2; P< 0.0001) and lower BMI (OR=0.96; P=0.016) were significant predictors of being in high QoL class. Conclusion Our study provides data about the QoL of industrial manufacturing employees along with its significant determinants. The findings picture the ways for improving QoL, finally increasing the efficiency and productivity of workforce by directing health policies appropriately.
