Abstract
The incidence of allergic reactions has risen steadily in recent years, prompting growing interest in the identification of efficacious and safe natural compounds that can prevent or treat allergic diseases. Phellodendron amurense Rupr. has long been applied as a treatment for allergic diseases, whose primary component is phellodendrine. However, the efficacy of phellodendrine as a treatment for allergic diseases remains to be assessed. Mast cells are the primary effectors of allergic reactions, which are not only activated by IgE-dependent pathway, but also by IgE-independent pathways via human MRGPRX2, rat counterpart MRGPRB3. As such, this study explored the effect and mechanism of phellodendrine through this family receptors in treating allergic diseases in vitro and in vivo. These analyses revealed that phellodendrine administration was sufficient to protect against C48/80-induced foot swelling and Evans blue exudation in mice, and suppressed C48/80-induced RBL-2H3 rat basophilic leukemia cells degranulation, and β-HEX, HIS, IL-4, and TNF-α release. Moreover, phellodendrine could reduce the mRNA expression of MRGPRB3 and responsiveness of MRGPRX2 by altering its structure. It was able to decrease Ca2+ levels, phosphorylation levels of CaMK, PLCβ1, PKC, ERK, JNK, p38, and p65, and inhibit the degradation of IκB-α. These analyses indicate that berberine inhibits the activation of PLC and downregulates the release of Ca2+ in the endoplasmic reticulum by altering the conformation of MRGPRB3/MRGPRX2 protein, thereby inhibiting the activation of PKC and subsequently inhibiting downstream MAPK and NF-κB signaling, ultimately suppressing allergic reactions. There may thus be further value in studies focused on developing phellodendrine as a novel anti-allergic drug.

Abstract
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) represents the most prevalent cancer globally. The past decade has witnessed significant advancements in BCC treatment, primarily through bibliometric studies. Aiming to perform a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of BCC treatments to comprehend the research landscape and identify trends within this domain, a dataset comprising 100 scientific publications from the Web of Science Core Collection was analyzed. Country co-operation, journal co-citation, theme bursts, keyword co-occurrence, author co-operation, literature co-citation, and field-specific references were examined using VOSviewer and CiteSpace visualization tools. These articles, published between 2013 and 2020, originated predominantly from 30 countries/regions and 159 institutions, with the USA and Germany at the forefront, involving a total of 1118 authors. The keyword analysis revealed significant emphasis on the hedgehog pathway, Mohs micrographic surgery, and photodynamic therapy. The research shows developed nations are at the forefront in advancing BCC therapies, with significant focus on drugs targeting the hedgehog pathway. This treatment avenue has emerged as a crucial area, meriting considerable attention in BCC therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
According to the concept of "united airway diseases", the airway is a single organ in which upper and lower airway diseases are commonly comorbid. A range of inflammatory factors have been found to play an important role in the chain reaction of upper and lower airway diseases. However, the amount of research on this concept remains limited. The underlying mechanism of the relationship between typical diseases of the united airway, such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and chronic sinusitis, also needs to be further explored. This review highlights the interaction between upper and lower respiratory diseases gathered from epidemiological, histoembryology, neural mechanistic, microbiological, and clinical studies, revealing the relationship between the upper and lower respiratory tracts.

Abstract
This comprehensive review explores the intricate landscape of the neonatal skin microbiome, shedding light on its dynamic composition, developmental nuances, and influential factors. The neonatal period represents a critical window during which microbial colonization significantly impacts local skin health and the foundational development of the immune system. Factors such as mode of delivery and gestational age underscore the vulnerability of neonates to disruptions in microbial establishment. Key findings emphasize the broader systemic implications of the neonatal skin microbiome, extending beyond immediate health outcomes to influence susceptibility to infections, allergies, and immune-related disorders. This review advocates for a paradigm shift in neonatal care, proposing strategies to preserve and promote a healthy skin microbiome for long-term health benefits. The implications of this research extend to public health, where interventions targeting the neonatal skin microbiome could potentially mitigate diseases originating in early life. As we navigate the intersection of research and practical applications, bridging the gap between knowledge and implementation becomes imperative for translating these findings into evidence-based practices and improving neonatal well-being on a broader scale.

Abstract
Purpose Low back pain (LBP) is a prevalent musculoskeletal disorder, and manual therapy (MT) is frequently employed as a non-pharmacological treatment for LBP. This study aims to explore the research hotspots and trends in MT for LBP. MT has gained widespread acceptance in clinical practice due to its proven safety and effectiveness. The study aims to analyze the developments in the field of MT for LBP over the past 23 years, including leading countries, institutions, authoritative authors, journals, keywords, and references. It endeavors to provide a comprehensive summary of the existing research foundation and to analyze the current cutting-edge research trends. Methods Relevant articles between 2000 and 2023 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. We used the software VOSviewer and CiteSpace to perform the analysis and summarize current research hotspots and emerging trends. Results Through screening, we included 1643 papers from 2000 to 2023. In general, the number of articles published each year showed an upward trend. The United States had the highest number of publications and citations. Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College was the most published research institution. The University of Pittsburgh in the United States had the most collaboration with other research institutions. Long, Cynthia R. was the active author. Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics was the most prolific journal with 234 publications. Conclusion This study provides an overview of the current status and trends of clinical studies on MT for LBP in the past 23 years using the visualization software, which may help researchers identify potential collaborators and collaborating institutions, hot topics, and new perspectives in research frontiers, while providing new clinical practice ideas for the treatment of LBP.

Abstract
Background Human skin microbiome is the first barrier against exogenous attack and is associated with various skin disease pathogenesis and progression. Advancements in high-throughput sequencing technologies have paved the way for a deeper understanding of this field. Based on the bibliometric analysis, this investigation aimed to identify the hotspots and future research trends associated with human skin microbiomes studied over the past decade. Methods The published research on skin microbiome from January 2013 to January 2023 was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Data cleaning processes to ensure robust data and the bibliometrix packages R, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Origin, and Scimago Graphica for bibliometric and visual analyses were utilized. Results A total of 1629 published documents were analyzed. The overall publication trend steadily increased, with relatively fast growth in 2017 and 2020. The United States of America has the highest number of publications and citations and shows close collaborations with China and Germany. The University of California, San Diego, indicated a higher number of publications than other institutions and the fastest growth rate. The top three most publishing journals on this topic are Microorganisms, Frontiers in Microbiology, and Experimental dermatology. Gallo RL is the most influential author with the highest h- and g-index and most publications in skin microecology, followed by Grice EA and Kong HH. The top 10 most frequently used keywords in recent years included skin microbiome, microbiome, staphylococcus aureus, diversity, atopic dermatitis, skin, bacteria, infections, gut microbiota, and disease. Conclusion The skin microbiome is an area of research that requires continuous analysis, and even with much-achieved progress, future research will further be aided as technology develops.

Abstract
Bell's palsy is an idiopathic, acute, unilateral peripheral facial nerve paralysis, where incomplete or failed recovery causes substantial social and psychological stress to the patient, seriously influencing their quality of life and social activities. We conducted a bibliometric investigation of the knowledge structure and frontier hotspots in Bell's palsy research. Bell's palsy publications between 2002 and 2021 were retrieved from Web of Science. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and an online bibliometric platform were used for visual, burst, citation, and co-occurrence analyses, respectively. A total of 1,378 publications were included. The annual Bell's palsy publication output followed an upward trend from 2002 to 2021. The USA and Harvard University published the most Bell's palsy research articles. Yeo SG and Otology & Neurotology were the most prolific author and journal, respectively, on Bell's palsy. The results suggested that Bell's palsy research hotspots focused on rehabilitating facial nerve function and improving prognosis, and combining specific therapies (acupuncture) would be of future interest. The cited references timeline revealed that Bell's palsy following COVID-19 vaccination was an emerging research hotspot. The bibliometric analysis demonstrated that the USA dominates Bell's palsy research and that rehabilitating facial nerve function and prognosis were research hotspots. Emerging mechanistic studies mainly focused on Bell's palsy following COVID-19 vaccination. Our findings could be a reliable source for global scholars to rapidly identify research hotspots and potential research directions and frontiers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nanomaterials have recently been shown to have a considerable advantage in promoting wound healing in diabetic patients or animal models. However, no bibliometric analysis has been conducted to evaluate global scientific production. Herein, this study aimed to summarize the current characteristics, explore research trends, and clarify the direction of nanomaterials and diabetic wound healing in the future. METHODS Relevant publications from 2011 to 2021 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection on October 3, 2022. VOSviewer, CiteSpace, bibliometrix-R package, Origin 2021, and Microsoft Excel 2019 were used for bibliometric and visualization analyses. RESULTS We identified 409 publications relating to nanomaterials and diabetic wound healing. The number of annual productions remarkably increased from 2011 to 2021, with China and Shanghai Jiao Tong University being the most productive. The most prolific authors were Hasan Anwarul. The leading journal was the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, with 22 publications. The most popular keywords were "nanoparticles," "delivery," "in vitro," "electrospinning," "angiogenesis," and "antibacterial." Keyword burst analysis showed "cerium oxide," "matrix metalloproteinase 9," "composite nanofiber," "hif 1 alpha," and "oxide nanoparticle" were emerging research hotspots. CONCLUSION We found there has been a great progress in the application of nanomaterials in diabetic wound healing from 2011 to 2021. Although many researchers and institutions from different countries or regions contributed contributed to publications, it will be helpful or the development of this field if the degree of international cooperation can be enhanced. In the future, nanomaterials with powerful antioxidant and antibacterial qualities and promoting angiogenesis are the research hotspots.
