Evaluating Factors Influencing Knowledge-Sharing Behavior of Students in Online Problem-Based Learning

Enhancing students' online collaborative PBL learning performance in the context of coauthoring-based technologies: A case of wiki technologies

Understandability and completeness are essential in modern collaborative digital platforms and their learning systems. These platforms have shaken up the traditional education setting, particularly in leveraging the coauthoring approach in problem-solving and streamlining the learning behavior of cowriting or corevising. Such a learning context has attracted considerable interest from various stakeholders; however, it needs to be explored further as an independent topic. Based on social capital and social identity theories, we explore how online collaborative problem-based learning (PBL) effectiveness, relational quality, and social identity influence students' perceived PBL performance during learning activities. Based on the core elements of online coauthoring processes (i.e., platform, cocreation, and problem-solving), this study employs a holistic view of the coauthor to discuss the effects of understandability and completeness. This study also highlights the mediating impact of trust on students' social identity. Based on the responses of 240 students, the results support the proposed hypotheses using partial least squares analysis. The study's implications suggest guidelines to educators on how to enhance students' perceived PBL performance by using wiki technologies.

The Relationship Between Parental Satisfaction and Parental Loyalty in Kindergartens: The Mediating Role of Parental Trust and Parental Relationship Commitment

This study aimed to explore the psychological mechanisms behind the relationship between kindergarten parental satisfaction and parental loyalty. This study used the parental satisfaction scale, parental trust scale, parental relationship commitment scale, and parental loyalty scale on 923 kindergarten parents. The test was conducted on 923 kindergarten parents. The results of this study showed that parental satisfaction significantly and positively affected parental loyalty. Parental trust was partially mediated between parental satisfaction and parental loyalty. Parental relationship commitment was also partially mediated between parental satisfaction and parental loyalty. Regarding to parental satisfaction and parental loyalty, parental trust and parental relationship commitment had chain mediation effect between parental satisfaction and parental loyalty. The findings of this study provided valuable insights into the effect of parental satisfaction on parental loyalty and offer concrete practical suggestions for kindergarten operators to improve the loyalty of kindergarten parents.

Knowledge sharing behavior among critical care nurse specialists: A cross-sectional study

AIMS

To investigate the knowledge sharing behavior of critical care nurse specialists and identify potential influencing factors.

BACKGROUND

The specialist knowledge of critical care nurses is an important resource for the nursing team. It is necessary to investigate influencing factors of knowledge sharing behavior of them.

METHODS

Convenience sampling was used to conduct an investigation involving critical care nurse specialists from three provinces in China between October 2018 and June 2019. Practice Environment Scale, Competency Inventory for Registered Nurses, Knowledge Self-efficacy Scale, and knowledge sharing behavior Scale were utilized.

RESULTS

The knowledge sharing behavior score of critical care nurse specialists was 64.84±11.53. The results of the regression analysis showed that the level of education, position, involvement of nurses in hospital affairs, knowledge, self-efficacy, sex, average number of night shifts per month, years engaged in nursing work, type of employment, leadership skills, critical thinking ability, and manpower and material resources accounted for 45.9% of the variance.

CONCLUSIONS

Critical care nurse specialists exhibited limited knowledge sharing behavior. Therefore, interventions based on the dependent variables are necessary.

IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT

Knowledge sharing behavior of critical care nurse specialists remains at a low level. Hence, it is necessary to encourage their greater participation according to associated factors.
