Indonesian nursing students' intention to accept COVID-19 vaccines: an online, multicentre survey

BACKGROUND

The determinants of intention to accept the COVID-19 vaccine and associated factors among nursing students during this pandemic need to be identified.

AIMS

The study assessed nursing students' attitudes to vaccination, health engagement and trust in government, as well as their intention to have a COVID-19 vaccination.

METHODS

A cross-sectional study was carried out among nursing students in three provinces of Java, Indonesia, from December 2020 to February 2021. Convenience sampling was used to gather primary data from 640 participants through a structured online survey. Multiple linear regression was used to analyse the results.

FINDINGS

All items of vaccine attitude and health engagement as well as trust in government were positive predictors of vaccine acceptance after adjusting for confounding factors.

CONCLUSION

Nursing students were more likely to accept vaccination if they had a positive attitude to vaccination, high levels of health engagement and trust in the government regarding tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Psychometric Testing of the Bahasa Version of the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire among Indonesians with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

The Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (B-IPQ) has been recommended to validate illness perception. Nevertheless, this measurement has yet to be validated with an assessment of the construct and convergent validities and reliability in Indonesia. Our study aimed to psychometrically test the 8-item B-IPQ among Indonesians with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Data included 294 patients with T2DM with stratified multistage clustering. The 36-item Short Form Survey, 21-item Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, and fasting blood glucose (FBG) were used to examine convergence and divergence. The validity analysis included the construct and convergent validities with significant person correlations. Cronbach's alpha, composite reliability (CR), and average variance extracted (AVE) were used to assess reliability. Confirmatory and exploratory factor analyses indicated a multidimensional structure, including cognitive with a five-item structure and emotional illness representation with a three-item structure, with an acceptable goodness of model fit. The tool revealed good internal consistency for the cognitive, emotional, and overall domains and was positively moderately correlated with FBG, stress, anxiety, and depression but negatively correlated with the overall quality of life and mental and physical component scores. Findings provide empirical evidence that the Bahasa version of the B-IPQ showed adequate internal consistency, exploratory and confirmatory, and thus is valid and reliable for illness perception assessments among Indonesians with T2DM.

HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG COVID-19 TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN PADA LANSIA YANG MENGALAMI HIPERTENSI

Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pandemic Covid-19 dapat menimbulkan berbagai macam spekulasi tentang penyebaran virus Corona, sehingga menimbulkan kecemasan yang dapat menurunkan sistem imun tubuh lansia dan dapat pula meningkatkan tekanan darah lansia. Hipertensi lebih rentan menyerang para lansia seiring bertambahnya usia, sehingga berpotensi menyebabkan pengerasan pembuluh darah. Pengerasan tersebut mengurangi kelenturan pembuluh darah arteri besar dan aorta, sehingga pada lansia lebih rentan mengidap tekanan darah tinggi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan tentang covid-19 terhadap tingkat kecemasan pada lansia yang mengalami hipertensi di RW 09 Perumahan Gerbang Permai Pamengkang, wilayah Puskesmas Pamengkang tahun 2020. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan deskripsi kuantitatif pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi sampel nya adalah lansia dengan hipertensi di RW 09 perumahan gerbang permai pamengkang wilayahkerja puskesmas pamengkang dengan jumlah 28 responden dengan teknik pengambilan sampel mengunakan accidental sampling.Hasil penelitian didapatkan responden yang mempunyai pengetahuan baik berjumlah 14 orang (50,0%), tingkat pengetahuan cukup 8 orang (28,6%) dan tingkat pengetahuan kurang 6 orang (21,4%). Dan responden dengan Kecemasan Berat berjumlah 21 orang (75,0%). Hasil analisis bivariat didapatkan ada hubungan antara pengetahuan tentang Covid-19 dengan tingkat kecemasan pada lansia yang mengalami hipertensi di RW 09 Perumahan Gerbang Permai Pamengkang Wilayah kerja Puskesmas pamengkang tahun 2020 dengan p value = 0,007 (α= 0,05).Kata Kunci: pengetahuan covid-19, kecemasan lansia AbstractLack of knowledge about the Covid-19 pandemic can lead to various kinds of speculation about the spread of the Corona virus, causing anxiety which can lower the immune system of the elderly and can also increase the blood pressure of the elderly. Hypertension is more prone to attack the elderly as they get older, so that it has the potential to cause hardening of the arteries. This hardening reduces the flexibility of the large arteries and aorta, making the elderly more susceptible to developing high blood pressure. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge of covid-19 and the level of anxiety among elderly people who have hypertension in RW 09 of the gateway residential area of Pamengkang, Pamengkang Community Health Center in 2020. The design of this study used a quantitative description of the cross sectional approach. The sample population was the elderly with hypertension in RW 09, the gateway housing complex, the Pamengkang Community Health Center, with 28 respondents using accidental sampling technique. The results showed that 14 people had good knowledge (50.0%), 8 people had sufficient knowledge (28.6%) and 6 people had less knowledge (21.4%). And respondents with severe anxiety totaled 21 people (75.0%). The results of the bivariate analysis found that there was a relationship between knowledge of Covid-19 and the level of anxiety in the elderly who had hypertension in RW 09 Gerbang Permai Pamengkang Housing in the Pamengkang Community Health Center work area in 2020 with p value = 0.007 (α = 0.05). PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN REPRODUKSI TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN BAHAYA SEKS BEBAS PADA SISWI KELAS VIII

ABSTRAKPernikahan usia dini sudah menjdi permasalahan di Indramayu salah satu penyebabnya adalah seks bebas dikalangan remaja. Seks bebas adalah berhubungan intim didorong oleh hasrat seksual dengan bercumbu sampai melakukan hubungan intim tanpa adanya hubungan pernikahan. Seks bebas terjadi dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan tentang seksbebas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perubahan pengetahuan seks bebas sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi.Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Pretest-Postest with Control Group terhadap suatu kelompok. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purpose sampling menggunakan Taro Yamane dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60  responden yang dibagi menjadi kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitianyang digunakan berupa lembar kuesioner pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi. Analisis data yang digunakan untuk analisa Brivariat dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% (α=0,05).Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik didapatkan nilai p value 0,00 dengan nilai (α>0,05), disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi terhadap pengetahuan bahaya seks bebas pada siswi kelas VIII Tahun 2019. Diharapkan institusi terkait dapat menggunakan pendidikan kesehatan reproduksi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja tentang bahaya seks bebas.Kata Kunci : Pendidikan Kesehatan, Reproduksi, Pengetahuan Bahaya Seks Bebas    ABSTRACTEarly marriage has become a problem in Indramayu. One reason is free sex among teenagers. Free sex is intercourse that is driven by sexual desire by flirting until having sex without a marriage relationship. Free sex occurs because of a lack of knowledge about it, this is due to a lack of knowledge about free sex. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in knowledge of free sex before and after reproductive health education.This type of research uses Pretest-Posttest with Group Control of a group. Sampling using purpose sampling of the Taro Yamane formula with a total sample of 60 respondents which were divided into intervention and control groups. The research instrument used was a reproductive health education questionnaire. The research instrument used was a reproductive health education questionnaire. Data analysis used was Bivariate Analysis with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05).Based on the statistical test results obtained p value 0.00 with a value (α> 0.05), concluded that there is an influence of reproductive health education on the knowledge of the danger of free sex in class VIII students in 2019.
