Mapping the field of microalgae CO2 sequestration: a bibliometric analysis

Microalgae CO₂ sequestration has gained considerable attention in the last three decades as a promising technology to slow global warming caused by CO₂ emissions. To provide a comprehensive and objective analysis of the research status, hot spots, and frontiers of CO₂ fixation by microalgae, a bibliometric approach was recently chosen for review. In this study, 1561 articles (1991-2022) from the Web of Science (WOS) on microalgae CO₂ sequestration were screened. A knowledge map of the domain was presented using VOSviewer and CiteSpace. It visually demonstrates the most productive journals (Bioresource Technology), countries (China and USA), funding sources, and top contributors (Cheng J, Chang JS, and their team) in the field of CO₂ sequestration by microalgae. The analysis also revealed that research hotspots changed over time and that recent research has focused heavily on improving carbon sequestration efficiency. Finally, commercialization of carbon fixation by microalgae is a key hurdle, and supports from other disciplines could improve carbon sequestration efficiency.

Electrochemical detection of Sudan red series azo dyes: Bibliometrics based analysis

Sudan red azo dyes are banned from food because of their carcinogenic properties. It is necessary to establish a method for the detection of Sudan azo dyes in food. Among them, electrochemical sensing technology has become a very potential analytical method for food detection because of its fast, sensitive and low price. In this paper, we analyze the electrochemical detection of Sudan red azo dyes by bibliometric method. A total of 161 articles were analyzed from 2007 to 2021. The geographical and institutional distribution of these papers is used to understand the form of collaboration on this topic. Keyword analysis in these papers is used to understand the different directions in which the topic is studied at different stages. The results show that the topic reached its peak in 2015. The development of novel materials with excellent electrochemical activity has promoted the research on this topic. As detection limits continue to be lowered and sensors continue to be optimized, this topic currently does not continue to attract much attention.

Adaptive relay selection based on channel gain and link distance for cooperative out-band device-to-device networks

Device-to-device (D2D) communication is one of the key enabling technologies for 5G to support many connections efficiently. In a cooperative out-band D2D communication network, relay nodes have an essential role in receiving and forwarding information signals from source (S) to destination (D), making the system more reliable and with higher energy efficiency. Therefore, the relay selection method is very important in determining the best relay among existing relays to achieve maximum performance. This paper proposes a new Adaptive Relay Selection (ARS) scheme for cooperative out-band D2D networks based on channel gain value and transmission link distance. Firstly, the best relay is adaptively selected among N available relays (R) based on the maximum channel gain values between S to R if the channel gain-based signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is greater than the distance-based SNR. Otherwise, the best relay is selected based on the minimum distance between S to R. We also analyzed an exact closed-form throughput and the total energy consumption required for a cooperative out-band D2D communication system using the Quantization-and-Forward (QF) protocol. The numerical results show that the proposed ARS scheme has a higher throughput than the two previous schemes: maximum channel gain and minimum distance. Furthermore, the proposed ARS can reduce the total energy consumption, which indirectly impacts the resulting energy efficiency level. The proposed ARS scheme achieves higher energy efficiency than the previous schemes, either by link distance or power allocation. So, the proposed ARS scheme for an out-band D2D communication network is an appropriate solution for the next generation of cellular communications.
