Abstract
Introduction The term white dot syndromes has been used to refer conditions that differ in their morphology and prognosis. We report three cases of different pathologies encompassed within the white dot syndromes. Case Presentations Case 1: A 26-year-old female presented with scotoma in her right eye. Fundus examination revealed multiple white dots that demonstrated early hyperfluorescence with late staining on FA. OCT showed discontinuities in inner segment-outer segment junction associated with columnar-shaped outer retinal hyperreflective bands. AF revealed multiple hyperautofluorescent dots around the posterior pole, compatible with multiple evanescent white dot syndrome. The symptoms improved without treatment. Case 2: A 16-year-old male presented with retinal lesions compatible with punctate inner choroidopathy in his right eye. OCT showed lesion in the outer retinal layer. FAF revealed parafoveal hypoautofluorescent dots with early hyperfluorescence and late staining on FFA. After oral corticotherapy, they progress to atrophic scars. Case 3: A 65-year-old male presented with scotoma and decreased vision in his right eye. OCT showed hyperreflectivity in the outer layer that progresses to a large atrophic plaque with foveal affectation. FAF demonstrated hyperautofluorescent placoid lesion occupying macular area, compatible with acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy. Retinal lesions improved with systemic corticosteroids. Conclusion The FAF pattern helps know the distribution of the lesions. It represents a noninvasive method that has been shown to be useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of white dot syndromes.

Abstract
PURPOSE Posterior uveitis is a common chorioretinal pathology affecting all ages worldwide and is a frequent reason for referral to the retina clinic. The spectrum of etiologies for uveitis is very broad and includes infectious and auto-immune diseases. Inflammation can be confined to the eye or may be a part of systemic disease. A useful outline is therefore proposed to aid in the correct diagnosis of these challenging entities. The situation is further complicated by the fact that many neoplastic conditions resemble features of posterior uveitis; they are known as "masqueraders of uveitis". Here, we summarize different posterior uveitides that present with rare findings, along with masqueraders that can be difficult to distinguish. These conditions pose a diagnostic dilemma resulting in delay in treatment because of diagnostic uncertainty. METHODS An extensive literature search was performed on the MEDLINE/PUBMED, EBSCO and Cochrane CENTRAL databases from January 1985 to January 2022 for original studies and reviews of predetermined diagnoses that include posterior uveitic entities, panuveitis and masquerade syndromes. RESULTS We described conditions that can present as mimickers of posterior uveitis (i.e., immune check-points inhibitors and Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada-like uveitis; leukemia and lymphoma associated posterior uveitis), inflammatory conditions that present as mimickers of retinal diseases (i.e., Purtscher-like retinopathy as a presentation of systemic lupus erythematosus; central serous chorioretinopathy masquerading inflammatory exudative retinal detachment), and uveitic conditions with rare and diagnostically challenging etiologies (i.e., paradoxical inflammatory effects of anti-TNF-α; post vaccination uveitis; ocular inflammation after intravitreal injection of antiangiogenic drugs). CONCLUSION This review of unique posterior uveitis cases highlights the overlapping features of posterior uveitis (paradoxical inflammatory effects of anti -TNF α and uveitis; Purtscher-like retinopathy as a presentation of systemic lupus erythematosus, …) and the nature of retinal conditions (ischemic ocular syndrome, or central retinal vein occlusion, amyloidosis, inherited conditions like retinitis pigmentosa, autosomal dominant neovascular inflammatory vitreoretinopathy (ADNIV), etc.…) that may mimic them is represented. Careful review of past uveitis history, current medications and recent vaccinations, detailed examination of signs of past or present inflammation, eventually genetic testing and/ or multimodal retinal imaging (like fluorescein angiography, EDI-OCT, OCT-angiography for lupus Purtscher-like retinopathy evaluation, or ICG for central serous retinopathy, or retinal amyloid angiopathy) may aid in correct diagnosis.

Abstract
White dot syndromes (WDS) represent a heterogeneous group of inflammatory diseases, primarily affecting the outer retina, choriocapillaris and choroid. Recent advances in the field of ocular imaging and development of new technologies, including optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A), have allowed a better characterization of the morphology of these conditions. This review will analyse the WDS from an imaging-based perspective, providing a better understanding of the pathophysiology underlying these disorders.

Abstract
PURPOSE To describe three patients that developed temporally distinct episodes of optic neuritis and multiple evanescent white dot syndrome (MEWDS). METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and imaging studies of three women evaluated at a tertiary referral center for both optic neuritis and MEWDS. RESULTS Three otherwise healthy women, aged 17, 36, and 41, developed temporally separated episodes of optic neuritis and MEWDS. The time periods between the two events were 3, 48, and 60 months, and in two of the three cases, the optic neuritis event preceded the episode of MEWDS. No patient endorsed prodromal flu-like symptoms prior to developing vision loss. The mean presenting visual acuities were better with the optic neuritis episode (LogMAR 0.360, Snellen 20/46) than with retinal event (LogMAR 0.684, Snellen 20/97). All three patients had improvement in vision, with mean visual acuity of 20/29 (LogMAR 0.165) at last follow-up. One patient later developed idiopathic noninfectious posterior uveitis and another developed multiple sclerosis requiring treatment. CONCLUSION While a rare association, patients can develop both optic neuritis and MEWDS within the same eye at different time points. It is unknown whether such patients are at even higher risk of developing systemic autoimmune disease than are patients with either MEWDS or optic neuritis alone.

Abstract
Multiple evanescent white dot syndrome (MEWDS) is an inflammatory eye disease of the outer retina, retinal pigmented epithelium, choroid presenting with photopsia, loss of vision, and temporal scotoma. The patient was a 31-year-old female with a history of vision loss since 11 days ago (left eye). At presentation, best-corrected Snellen visual acuity was 20/140 in the Snellen chart. We decided to treat her with short time corticosteroid therapy (0.75 mg/kg/day prednisolone which was tapered in 3 weeks) for any possible rapid recovery of vision. The visual acuity of the involved eye was improved to 20/25 and 20/20, one week and three weeks after starting treatment respectively. Thus, it seems that short-term oral steroids might be an alternative method of management for patients with MEWDS.

Abstract
The white dot syndromes (WDS) are a diverse group of posterior uveitidies that share similar clinical findings but are unique from one another. Multimodal imaging has allowed us to better understand the morphology, the activity and age of lesions, and whether there is CNV associated with these different ocular pathologies. The “white dot syndromes” and their uveitic masqueraders can now be anatomically categorized based on lesion localization. The categories include local uveitic syndromes with choroidal pathology, systemic uveitic syndromes with choroidal pathology, and multifocal choroiditis with outer retinal/choriocapillaris pathology with uveitis and without uveitis. Neoplastic and infectious etiologies are also discussed given their ability to masquerade as WDS.

Abstract
A challenge in the management of ‘white dot syndromes’ is the lack of sensitive objective measures of disease activity. Retinal thickness maps from spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) inform treatment decisions in other retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic maculopathy. In this report, we demonstrate their value in providing quantitative monitoring of a patient with punctate inner choroidopathy (PIC). Retinal thickness maps referenced against a baseline scan reliably detected focal areas of increased macular volume in active PIC lesions during symptomatic episodes, highlighting these as ‘hot spots’ that could be quantified, providing an objective basis for treatment decisions.
