Phoebella queirozae, a New Species of Longhorned Beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) with Notes on the Male Genitalia

Phoebella Lane, 1966 is a Neotropical genus of flat-faced longhorned beetles (Cerambycidae, Lamiinae, Hemilophini) with three species. Here, a new species, Phoebella queirozae sp. nov., is described from the state of Ceará (Brazil). The male terminalia of Phoebella phoebe (Lepeletier and Audinet-Serville, 1825) is described for the first time. The external morphology and male terminalia of the new species and P. phoebe are compared, and the value of male terminalia characters in the taxonomy of longhorned beetles is briefly discussed.

A revision of the genus Trichohoplorana Breuning, 1961 (Arthropoda, Insecta, Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae, Acanthocinini)

A taxonomic revision of the genus Trichohoplorana Breuning, 1961 is presented. A junior synonym of Trichohoplorana, Ipochiromima Sama & Sudre, 2009, syn. nov., is proposed. A junior synonym of T.dureli Breuning, 1961, I.sikkimensis (Breuning, 1982), syn. nov., is proposed. Trichohoplorana is newly recorded from Vietnam. A new species, T.nigeralbasp. nov. is described from Vietnam. Trichohoploranaluteomaculata Gouverneur, 2016 is newly recorded from China and Vietnam. Hind wings and male terminalia of T.luteomaculata are described for the first time. Trichohoplorana is redescribed, and a key to Trichohoplorana species is presented.

One new species of Fannia (Diptera, Fanniidae) from Yunnan, China with a key to the Fanniafuscinata-group in China

Background

The Fannidae includes over 400 described species, mainly known from the Holarctic Region. The number of species in the Oriental Region are underestimated. The Fanniafuscinata-group was established by Wang et al. in 2011, consisting of nine species at present.

New information

A new species of the genus Fannia (Diptera, Fanniidae) is described from Yunnan, part of the Oriental Region in China, namely Fanniamenglaensis sp. nov. The detailed description, photographs and drawings of adults and male terminalia of F.menglaensis sp. nov. are provided. All specimens are preserved in the Museum of Beijing Forestry University.

Synopsis of the genus Ulomorpha Osten Sacken, 1869 (Diptera, Limoniidae) in Japan

Japanese species of the genus Ulomorpha Osten Sacken, 1869 are revised and U. amamiana Kato & Kolcsár, sp. nov. and U. longipenis Kato & Kolcsár, sp. nov. are described. A key to the four Japanese species of the genus is provided, with images of habitus and wings, and drawings of their male terminalia. Ulomorpha amamiana Kato & Kolcsár, sp. nov. is the first representative of the genus discovered from the Oriental region.

Biology of Eumacronychia Townsend, with a redescription of E.persolla Reinhard, 1965 (Diptera, Sarcophagidae)

The biology of Eumacronychia Townsend is reviewed and Eumacronychiapersolla Reinhard, 1965 is redescribed. The male and female habitus as well as the male terminalia are documented with focus-stacked photographs, and features separating this species from all other species of Eumacronychia are discussed.

Two new species of the new world genus Rhinoleucophenga (Diptera: drosophilidae)

The genus Rhinoleucophenga Hendel (1917) encompasses 21 described species but is still not well known as a taxon. Even the currently described species lack full descriptions, i.e., illustrations of the male genitalia are absent, which makes their identification difficult. This study describes two new species of Rhinoleucophenga with the illustration of their male genitalia.
