Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE The dynamic assessment of disease activity during the follow-up of patients with Crohn's disease (CD) remains a significant challenge. In this study, we aimed to identify the role of dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasound (DCE-US) in the evaluation of activity of CD. METHODS In the retrospective study, patients diagnosed with CD in our hospital were included. All the diagnoses were confirmed by clinical symptoms and ileocolonoscopical results. All patients underwent intestinal ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) examinations within 1 week of the ileocolonoscopy examinations. Acuson Sequoia (Siemens Healthineers, Mountain View, CA, USA) and Resona R9 Elite (Mindray Medical Systems, China) with curved array and Line array transducers were used. The CEUS examination was performed with SonoVue (Bracco SpA, Milan, Italy). DCE-US analysis was performed by UltraOffice (version: 0.3-2010, Mindray Medical Systems, China) software. Two regions of interest (ROIs) were set in the anterior section of the infected bowel wall and its surrounding normal bowel wall 2 cm distant from the inflamed area. Time-intensity curves (TICs) were generated and quantitative perfusion parameters were obtained after curve fittings. The Simple Endoscopic Score for Crohn's disease (SES-CD) was regarded as the reference standard to evaluate the activity of CD. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analyses were used to determine the diagnostic efficiency of DCE-US quantitative parameters. RESULTS From March 2023 to November 2023, 52 CD patients were included. According to SES-CD score, all patients were divided into active group with the SES-CD score > 5 (n = 39) and inactive group SES-CD score < 5 (n = 13). Most of the active CD patients showed bowel wall thickness (BWT) > 4.2 mm (97.4%, 38/39) or mesenteric fat hypertrophy (MFH) on intestinal ultrasound (US) scan (69.2%, 27/39). Color Doppler signal of the bowel wall mostly showed spotty or short striped blood flow signal in active CD patients (56.4%, 22/39). According to CEUS enhancement patterns, most active CD patients showed a complete hyperenhancement of the entire intestinal wall (61.5%, 24/39). The TICs of active CD showed an earlier enhancement, higher peak intensity, and faster decline. Among all CEUS quantitative parameters, amplitude-derived parameters peak enhancement (PE), wash-in area under the curve (WiAUC), wash-in rate (WiR), wash-in perfusion index (WiPI), and wash-out rate (WoR) were significantly higher in active CD than in inactive CD (p < 0.05). The combined AUROC of intestinal ultrasound features and DCE-US quantitative perfusion parameters in the diagnosis of active CD was 0.987, with 97.4% sensitivity, 100% specificity, and 98.1% accuracy. CONCLUSIONS DCE-US with quantitative perfusion parameters is a potential useful noninvasive imaging method to evaluate the activity of Crohn's disease.

Abstract
Background The invasive pattern called spread through air spaces (STAS) is linked to an unfavorable prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Using computed tomography (CT) signs alone to assess STAS is subjective and lacks quantitative evaluation, whereas spectral CT can provide quantitative analysis of tumors. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between spectral CT quantitative parameters and STAS in LUAD. Methods We retrospectively collected consecutive patients with LUAD who underwent surgical resection and preoperative spectral CT scan at our institution. The quantitative parameters included CT values at 40, 70, and 100 keV [CT40keVa/v, CT70keVa/v, and CT100keVa/v (a: arterial; v: venous)]; iodine concentration (ICa/ICv); normalized iodine concentration (NICa/NICv); and slope λHU of the spectral curve (λHUa/λHUv). Clinical and CT features of the patients were also collected. Statistical analysis was performed to identify the quantitative parameters, clinical and CT features that were significantly correlated with STAS status. We evaluated the diagnostic performance of significant factors or models which combined quantitative parameters and CT features, using the area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results We enrolled a total of 47 patients, with 32 positive and 15 negative for STAS. The results revealed that CT100keVa (P=0.002), CT100keVv (P=0.007), pathologic stage (P=0.040), tumor density (P<0.001), spiculation (P=0.003), maximum solid component diameter (P=0.008), and the consolidation/tumor ratio (CTR) (P=0.001) were significantly correlated with STAS status. The tumor density demonstrated a superior diagnostic capability [AUC =0.824, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.709-0.939, sensitivity =59.4%, specificity =100.0%] compared to other variables. CT100keVa exhibited the best diagnostic performance (AUC =0.779, 95% CI: 0.633-0.925, sensitivity =78.1%, specificity =80.0%) among the quantitative parameters. Combination models were then constructed by combining the quantitative parameters with CT features. The total combined model showed the highest diagnostic efficiency (AUC =0.952, 95% CI: 0.894-1.000, sensitivity =90.6%, specificity =86.7%). Conclusions Spectral CT quantitative parameters CT100keVa and CT100keVv may be potentially useful parameters in distinguishing the STAS status in LUAD.

Abstract
Background Ki-67 and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) are key biomarkers in evaluating the prognosis of colorectal adenocarcinoma (CRAC). The purpose of this study was to investigate the value of quantitative parameters in dual-layer spectral detector computed tomography (SDCT) for evaluating the expression of Ki-67 and HER2 in CRAC. Methods In this retrospective, cross-sectional study, 88 eligible patients with pathologically confirmed CRAC were selected from Taicang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between May 2021 and April 2023. The study participants underwent enhanced SDCT of the whole abdomen within 2 weeks before to surgery, did not receive antitumor therapy, and had complete immunohistochemical (IHC) indexes. Patients with nonadenocarcinoma pathologic types, poor quality of spectral CT images, or no complete immunohistochemistry results were excluded. Spectral parameters including CT values at 40 and 100 keV, effective atomic number, iodine concentration (IC), the slope of the spectral Hounsfield unit (HU) curve (λHU), and normalized iodine concentration (NIC) in the arterial phase (AP) and venous phase (VP) were analyzed for their value in distinguishing between the high and low expression of Ki-67 and HER2-positive and -negative status in CRAC. The statistical significance of the SDCT parameters between the different groups of Ki-67 expression and those of HER2 status was assessed with the Mann-Whitney test. Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the SDCT parameters and the extent of Ki-67 expression and HER2 expression status. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used, and the area under the curve (AUC) was calculated. Results The SDCT parameters of CT values at 40 keV, effective atomic number, IC, and the λHU in the VP showed significant differences between the Ki-67 high- and low-expression groups in CRAC (P=0.035, P=0.041, P=0.036, and P=0.044, respectively), with AUCs of 0.639 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.512-0.766], 0.634 (95% CI: 0.508-0.761), 0.638 (95% CI: 0.510-0.766), and 0.633 (95% CI: 0.504-0.762), respectively. The expression of CRAC Ki-67 was positively correlated with CT values at 40 keV (r=0.227; P=0.034), effective atomic number (r=0.219; P=0.040), IC (r=0.225; P=0.035), and the λHU in VP (r=0.216; P=0.043). SDCT parameter values showed no statistical difference between negative and positive expression in HER2 (all P values >0.05). There was no significant correlation between SDCT parameters and the expression of HER2 in CRAC (all P values >0.05). Conclusions The quantitative parameters of SDCT in the VP provide valuable information for distinguishing between the low expression and high expression of Ki-67 in CRAC.

Abstract
Background The accurate assessment of lymph node metastasis (LNM) is crucial for the staging, treatment, and prognosis of lung cancer. In this study, we explored the potential value of dual-layer spectral detector computed tomography (SDCT) quantitative parameters in the prediction of LNM in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods In total, 91 patients presenting with solid solitary pulmonary nodules (8 mm < diameter ≤30 mm) with pathologically confirmed NSCLC (57 without LNM, and 34 with LNM) were enrolled in the study. The patients' basic clinical data and the SDCT morphological features were analyzed using the chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. The Mann-Whitney U-test and independent sample t-test were used to analyze the differences in multiple SDCT quantitative parameters between the non-LNM and LNM groups. The diagnostic efficacy of the corresponding parameters in predicting LNM in NSCLC was evaluated by plotting the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the independent predictive factors of LNM in NSCLC. Interobserver agreement was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and Bland-Altman plots. Results There were no significant differences between the non-LNM and LNM groups in terms of age, sex, and smoking history. Lesion size and vascular convergence sign differed significantly between the two groups (P<0.05), but there were no significant differences in the six tumor markers. The SDCT quantitative parameters [SAR40keV, SAR70keV, Δ40keV, Δ70keV, CER40keV, CER70keV, NEF40keV, NEF70keV, λ, normalized iodine concentration (NIC) and NZeff] were significantly higher in the non-LNM group than the LNM group (P<0.05). The ROC analysis showed that CER40keV, NIC, and CER70keV had higher diagnostic efficacy than other quantitative parameters in predicting LNM [areas under the curve (AUCs) =0.794, 0.791, and 0.783, respectively]. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that size, λ, and NIC were independent predictive factors of LNM. The combination of size, λ, and NIC had the highest diagnostic efficacy (AUC =0.892). The interobserver repeatability of the SDCT quantitative and derived quantitative parameters in the study was good (ICC: 0.801-0.935). Conclusions The SDCT quantitative parameters combined with the clinical data have potential value in predicting LNM in NSCLC. The size + λ + NIC combined parameter model could further improve the prediction efficacy of LNM.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare the image quality, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), and intravoxel incoherent motion- (IVIM) derived parameters of IVIM imaging based on turbo spin-echo (TSE) and echo-planar imaging (EPI) of patients with oral cancer and to assess the equivalence of the ADC and IVIM-derived parameters. METHODS Thirty patients with oral cancer underwent TSE-IVIM and EPI-IVIM imaging using a 3.0-T system. The distortion ratio (DR), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), qualitative evaluations of image quality, ADC, pure diffusion coefficient (D), pseudo-diffusion coefficient (D*), and perfusion fraction (f) were compared between the two sequences. The consistency of the quantitative parameters in oral cancer between the TSE and EPI sequences was evaluated using a Bland-Altman analysis. RESULTS TSE-IVIM had a significantly smaller DR than EPI-IVIM (P < 0.001). The CNR of EPI-IVIM on most of the anatomical sites was significantly higher than that of TSE-IVIM (P < 0.05), while the SNR was not significantly different (P > 0.05). TSE-IVIM had significantly higher image quality, less distortion and artifacts, and lower image contrast compared with EPI-IVIM (P < 0.05). The lesion-edge sharpness and diagnostic confidence of EPI-IVIM were lower than that of TSE-IVIM, although no significant differences existed (P > 0.05). The ADC and D of TSE-IVIM had better reproducibility (intraclass correlation coefficient > 0.9). Although no significant difference existed for the ADC and IVIM-derived parameters of lesions between the two sequences (P > 0.05), wide limits of agreement were found in the Bland-Altman plots. CONCLUSION TSE-IVIM could be used as an alternative technique to EPI-IVIM for patients with oral cancer because of its better image quality. Furthermore, TSE-IVIM can provide more accurate quantitative parameters. However, the quantitative parameters derived from the two IVIM techniques cannot be used as equivalent parameters for patients with oral cancer.

Abstract
Background Conventional dynamic computed tomography (CT) has a low specificity for the distinction between benign and malignant solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs), and spectral CT has been proposed as a potential alternative. We aimed to investigate the role of quantitative parameters based on full-volume spectral CT in the differential diagnosis of SPNs. Methods This retrospective study included spectral CT images of 100 patients with pathologically confirmed SPNs (78 and 22 in the malignant and benign groups, respectively). All cases were confirmed by postoperative pathology, percutaneous biopsy, and bronchoscopic biopsy. Multiple quantitative parameters derived from spectral CT were extracted from whole-tumor volume and standardized. Differences in quantitative parameters between groups were statistically analyzed. Diagnostic efficiency was evaluated by generating a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Between-group differences were evaluated using an independent sample t-test or Mann-Whitney U test. Interobserver repeatability was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and Bland-Altman plots. Results Spectral CT-derived quantitative parameters, except attenuation difference between the SPN in the 70 keV and arterial enhancement [ΔS-A(70 keV)], were significantly higher for malignant SPNs than for benign nodules (P<0.05). In the subgroup analysis, most parameters could distinguish between the benign and adenocarcinoma groups, and between the benign and squamous cell carcinoma groups (P<0.05). Only 1 parameter could differentiate the adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma groups (P=0.020). ROC curve analysis indicated that normalized arterial enhancement fraction in the 70 keV (NEF70 keV), normalized iodine concentration (NIC), and Δ70 keV had high diagnostic efficacy for differentiating SPNs between the benign and malignant SPNs [area under the curve (AUC): 0.867, 0.866, and 0.848, respectively] and between the benign and adenocarcinoma groups (AUC: 0.873, 0.872, and 0.874, respectively). The multiparameters derived from spectral CT exhibited satisfactory interobserver repeatability (ICC: 0.856-0.996). Conclusions Our study suggests that quantitative parameters derived from whole-volume spectral CT may be useful to improve discrimination of SPNs.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate whether the dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasound (DCE-US) analysis and quantitative parameters could be helpful for predicting histopathologic grades of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs). Methods: This retrospective study conducted a comprehensive review of the CEUS database between March 2017 and November 2021 in Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. Ultrasound examinations were performed by an ACUSON Sequioa unit equipped with a 3.5 MHz 6C−1 convex array transducer, and an ACUSON OXANA2 unit equipped with a 3.5 MHz 5C−1 convex array transducer. SonoVue® (Bracco Inc., Milan, Italy) was used for all CEUS examinations. Time intensity curves (TICs) and quantitative parameters of DCE-US were created by Vuebox® software (Bracco, Italy). Inclusion criteria were: patients with histopathologically proved pNETs, patients who underwent pancreatic B-mode ultrasounds (BMUS) and CEUS scans one week before surgery or biopsy and had DCE-US imaging documented for more than 2 min, patients with solid or predominantly solid lesions and patients with definite diagnosis of histopathological grades of pNETs. Based on their prognosis, patients were categorized into two groups: pNETs G1/G2 group and pNETs G3/pNECs group. Results: A total of 42 patients who underwent surgery (n = 38) or biopsy (n = 4) and had histopathologically confirmed pNETs were included. According to the WHO 2019 criteria, all pNETs were classified into grade 1 (G1, n = 10), grade 2 (G2, n = 21), or grade 3 (G3)/pancreatic neuroendocrine carcinomas (pNECs) (n = 11), based on the Ki−67 proliferation index and the mitotic activity. The majority of the TICs (27/31) of pNETs G1/G2 were above or equal to those of pancreatic parenchyma in the arterial phase, but most (7/11) pNETs G3/pNECs had TICs below those of pancreatic parenchyma from arterial phase to late phase (p < 0.05). Among all the CEUS quantitative parameters of DCE-US, values of relative rise time (rPE), relative mean transit time (rmTT) and relative area under the curve (rAUC) were significantly higher in pNETs G1/G2 group than those in pNETs G3/pNECs group (p < 0.05). Taking an rPE below 1.09 as the optimal cut-off value, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for prediction of pNETs G3/pNECs from G1/G2 were 90.91% [58.70% to 99.80%], 67.64% [48.61% to 83.32%] and 85.78% [74.14% to 97.42%], respectively. Taking rAUC below 0.855 as the optimal cut-off value, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for prediction of pNETs G3/pNECs from G1/G2 were 90.91% [66.26% to 99.53%], 83.87% [67.37% to 92.91%] and 94.72% [88.30% to 100.00%], respectively. Conclusions: Dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasound analysis might be helpful for predicting the pathological grades of pNETs. Among all quantitative parameters, rPE, rmTT and rAUC are potentially useful parameters for predicting G3/pNECs with aggressive behavior.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to investigate the role of spectral detector computed tomography (SDCT) quantitative parameters and their derived quantitative parameters combined with lesion morphological information in the differential diagnosis of solid SPNs. Methods This retrospective study included basic clinical data and SDCT images of 132 patients with pathologically confirmed SPNs (102 and 30 patients in the malignant and benign groups, respectively). The morphological signs of SPNs were evaluated and the region of interest (ROI) was delineated from the lesion to extract and calculate the relevant SDCT quantitative parameters, and standardise the process. Differences in qualitative and quantitative parameters between the groups were statistically analysed. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was constructed to evaluate the efficacy of the corresponding parameters in the diagnosis of benign and malignant SPNs. Statistically significant clinical data, CT signs and SDCT quantitative parameters were analysed using multivariate logistic regression to determine the independent risk factors for predicting benign and malignant SPNs, and the best multi-parameter regression model was established. Inter-observer repeatability was assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman plots. Results Malignant SPNs differed from benign SPNs in terms of size, lesion morphology, short spicule sign, and vascular enrichment sign (P< 0.05). The SDCT quantitative parameters and their derived quantitative parameters of malignant SPNs (SAR40keV, SAR70keV, Δ40keV, Δ70keV, CER40keV, CER70keV, NEF40keV, NEF70keV, λ, NIC, NZeff) were significantly higher than those of benign SPNs (P< 0.05). In the subgroup analysis, most parameters could distinguish between benign and adenocarcinoma groups (SAR40keV, SAR70keV, Δ40keV, Δ70keV, CER40keV, CER70keV, NEF40keV, NEF70keV, λ, NIC, and NZeff), and between benign and squamous cell carcinoma groups (SAR40keV, SAR70keV, Δ40keV, Δ70keV, NEF40keV, NEF70keV, λ, and NIC). However, there were no significant differences between the parameters in the adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma groups. ROC curve analysis indicated that NIC, NEF70keV, and NEF40keV had higher diagnostic efficacy for differentiating benign and malignant SPNs (area under the curve [AUC]:0.869, 0.854, and 0.853, respectively), and NIC was the highest. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that size (OR=1.138, 95% CI 1.022-1.267, P=0.019), Δ70keV (OR=1.060, 95% CI 1.002-1.122, P=0.043), and NIC (OR=7.758, 95% CI 1.966-30.612, P=0.003) were independent risk factors for the prediction of benign and malignant SPNs. ROC curve analysis showed that the AUC of size, Δ70keV, NIC, and a combination of the three for differential diagnosis of benign and malignant SPNs were 0.636, 0.846, 0.869, and 0.903, respectively. The AUC for the combined parameters was the largest, and the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy were 88.2%, 83.3% and 86.4%, respectively. The SDCT quantitative parameters and their derived quantitative parameters in this study exhibited satisfactory inter-observer repeatability (ICC: 0.811-0.997). Conclusion SDCT quantitative parameters and their derivatives can be helpful in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant solid SPNs. The quantitative parameter, NIC, is superior to the other relevant quantitative parameters and when NIC is combined with lesion size and Δ70keV value for comprehensive diagnosis, the efficacy could be further improved.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the value of dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasound (DCE-US) and quantitative parameters in early prediction of tumor response to chemoradiotherapy (CRT) in patients with locally advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (LAPC). Patients and Methods: In this prospective study, patients with biopsy-proved and histopathologically proved LAPC who underwent regular CRT were recruited. DCE-US evaluations were performed before and four months after CRT. SonoVue-enhanced contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) was performed by an ultrasound system (ACUSON Sequoia; Siemens Medical Solutions, USA) equipped with a 5C1 MHz convex array transducer. Time−intensity curves were created by VueBox software (Bracco, Italy), and various DCE-US quantitative parameters were obtained. Taking Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) based on computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the gold standard, DCE-US parameters were compared between the treatment responder group (RG) and non-responder group (NRG). The correlation between the DCE-US parameters and the serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) level was also analyzed. Results: Finally, 21 LAPC patients (mean age 59.3 ± 7.2 years) were included. In comparing the RG (n = 18) and NRG (n = 3), no significant change could be found among the mean size of the lesions (31.2 ± 8.1 mm vs. 27.2 ± 8.3 mm, p = 0.135). In comparing the TICs between the two groups, the LAPC lesions in the RG took a longer time to reach peak enhancement and to wash out. Among all the DCE-US parameters, RT (rise time), WiAUC (wash-in area under the curve), WoAUC (wash-out area under the curve) and WiWoAUC (wash-in and wash-out area under the curve) decreased significantly after CRT in the RG (p < 0.05). The RT ratio, WiAUC ratio, WoAUC ratio and WiWoAUC ratio were closely correlated with the change in serum CA 19-9 level in the RG (p < 0.05). Conclusion: DCE-US might be a potential imaging method for non-invasive follow-up for early response in LAPC patients treated by CRT.

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to investigate the correlation of computed tomography (CT) quantitative parameters with tumor invasion and Ki-67 expression in early lung adenocarcinoma.The study involved 141 lesions in 141 patients with early lung adenocarcinoma. According to the degree of tumor invasion, the lesions were assigned into (adenocarcinoma in situ + minimally invasive adenocarcinoma) group and invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC) group. Artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostic software was used to automatically outline the lesions and extract corresponding quantitative parameters on CT images. Statistical analysis was performed to explore the correlation of these parameters with tumor invasion and Ki-67 expression.The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the short diameter of the lesion and the average CT value were independent predictors of IAC. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis identified the average CT value as an independent predictor of IAC with the best performance, with the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.893 (P < .001), and the threshold of -450 HU. Besides, the predicted probability of logistic regression analysis model was detected to have the area under the curve of 0.931 (P < .001). The results of Spearman correlation analysis showed that the expression level of Ki-67 had the highest correlation with the average CT value of the lesion (r = 0.403, P < .001).The short diameter of the lesion and the average CT value are independent predictors of IAC, and the average CT value is significantly positively correlated with the expression of tumor Ki-67.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the value of quantitative synthetic magnetic resonance imaging (SyMRI) in distinguishing between benign and malignant breast lesions. METHODS We retrospectively collected data of preoperative conventional MRI and multi-dynamic multi-echo sequences from 95 patients with breast lesions showing mass-type enhancement on DCE-MRI, including 27 patients with benign lesions and 68 with malignant lesions. The MRI features of the lesions (shape, margin, internal enhancement pattern, time-signal intensity curve, and T2WI signal) were analyzed, and for each lesion, SyMRI-generated quantitative parameters including T1 and T2 relaxation time and proton density (PD) were measured before and after enhancement and recorded as T1p, T2p, PDp and T1e, T2e, and PDe, respectively. The relative change rate of each parameter was calculated. Logistic regression and all-subset regression analyses were performed for variable selection to construct diagnostic models of the breast lesions, and receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was used to assess the performance of each model for differentiation of benign and malignant lesions. RESULTS There were significant differences in the MRI features between benign and malignant lesions (P < 0.05). All the SyMRI-generated quantitative parameters, with the exception of T2e and Pdp, showed significant differences between benign and malignant lesions (P < 0.05). Among the constructed diagnostic models, the model based on all the DCE-MRI features combined with SyMRI parameters T2p and T1e (DCE-MRI+T2p+T1e) showed the best performance in the differential diagnosis malignant breast masses with an AUC of 0.995 (95% CI: 0.983-1.000). CONCLUSION Quantitative SyMRI can be used for differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions.

Abstract
PURPOSE 18F-DCFPyL prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT is commonly applied to locate lesions of prostate cancer (PCa), but its diagnostic function of quantitative parameters is ignored. Our study evaluates the parameters of intraprostatic PSMA uptake in patients newly diagnosed with PCa and explores their predictive value in risk classification, which is similar to D'Amico criteria. MATERIALS AND METHODS We quantified the maximal standardized uptake value (SUVmax), mean SUV (SUVmean), total lesion (TL)-PSMA, prostate/muscle (P/M) ratio of the primary tumor, and PSMA-derived tumor volume (PSMA-TV) from 62 patients with histologically proven PCa. Patients newly diagnosed with PCa were allocated into risk groups (at low, intermediate, and high risk, respectively) in accordance with D'Amico criteria. Afterwards, the five parameters mentioned above among three different risk groups were compared, and their predictive values in the risk classification of PCa were explored. RESULTS Significantly decreased levels of SUVmax, SUVmean, TL-PSMA, and P/M ratio were observed in the risk groups of low or intermediate or both, compared with the high-risk group. However, only the P/M ratio significantly elevated in patients with intermediate risk [mean ± SD (median): 46.58 ± 9.74 (45.27), P = 0.042] or high risk [98.95 ± 38.83 (97.52), P < 0.001], compared with low-risk patients [12.33 ± 5.93 (9.81)]. When P/M ratio was used to distinguish between low-risk and intermediate-risk patients, its c-statistics was 0.660. On the other hand, when distinguishing between intermediate-risk and high-risk groups, the c-statistics of P/M ratio was 0.667. Finally, when P/M ratio was used to distinguish between low-risk and high-risk patients, the c-statistics was 0.969. P/M ratio had a positive correlation with prostate-specific antigen in all enrolled PCa patients. CONCLUSION The quantitative parameters of 18F-DCFPyL PET/CT, including SUVmax, SUVmean, and P/M ratio, might assist in distinguishing low-risk or intermediate-risk groups from the high-risk group. Of these parameters, P/M ratio appears to be the better promising parameter for risk classification of prostate cancer than SUVmax.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the value of dynamic contrast enhanced ultrasound (DCE-US) in preoperative differential diagnosis of focal-type autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). PATIENTS AND METHODS From May 2016 to March 2020, patients with biopsy and histopathologically confirmed focal-type AIP (n = 9) were retrospectively included. All patients received contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) examinations one week before surgery/biopsy. Dynamic analysis was performed by VueBox® software (Bracco, Italy). Eighteen cases of resection and histopathologically proved PDAC lesions were also included as control group. B mode ultrasound (BMUS) features, CEUS enhancement patterns, time intensity curves (TICs) and CEUS quantitative parameters were obtained and compared between AIP and PDAC lesions. RESULTS After injection of ultrasound contrast agents, most focal-type AIP lesions displayed hyper-enhancement (2/9, 22.2%) or iso-enhancement (6/9, 66.7%) during arterial phase of CEUS, while most of PDAC lesions showed hypo-enhancement (88.9%) (P < 0.01). During late phase, most of AIP lesions showed iso-enhancement (8/9, 88.9%), while most of PDAC lesions showed hypo-enhancement (94.4%) (P < 0.001). Compared with PDAC lesions, TICs of AIP lesions showed delayed and higher enhancement. Among all CEUS perfusion parameters, ratio of PE (peak enhancement), WiAUC (wash-in area under the curve), WiR (wash-in rate), WiPI (wash-in perfusion index, WiPI = WiAUC/ rise time), WoAUC (wash-out area under the curve), WiWoAUC (wash-in and wash-out area under the curve) and WoR (wash-out rate) between pancreatic lesion and surrounding normal pancreatic tissue were significantly higher in AIP lesions than PDAC lesions (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION DCE-US with quantitative analysis has the potential to make preoperative differential diagnosis between focal-type AIP and PDAC non-invasively.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore and analyze the value of quantitative and semi-quantitative parameters of dynamic contrast enhanced-magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant cervical tumors. METHODS A total of 51 patients with cervical tumor who were treated in our hospital from April 2017 to October 2019 were recruited as the research subjects. All patients underwent conventional MRI plain scan and DCE-MRI examination. With histopathological results as the gold standard, the participants were classified into a malignant tumor group (n = 36) and a benign tumor group (n = 15) on the basis of the nature of the cervical tumor. The difference of quantitative and semi-quantitative parameters of DCE-MRI between the two groups was compared, and the specificity, sensitivity, negative and positive predictive values of quantitative and semi-quantitative parameters in differentiating benign from malignant cervical tumors were analyzed to evaluate the value of quantitative and semi-quantitative parameters of DCE-MRI in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant cervical tumors. RESULTS The quantitative parameters Kep, Ktrans and Ve of DCE-MRI in the malignant-tumor-group were critically higher than that in the benign tumor group (P<0.05). When distinguishing between the benign and malignant cervical tumors, the specificity and sensitivity of kep, Ktrans and Ve were higher in the differential diagnosis of malignant cervical tumors than in the benign cervical tumors. The peak of the malignant tumor group was remarkably earlier than that of the benign tumor group, and SI60% of the malignant tumor group was dramatically higher than that of benign tumor group (P<0.05). In addition, compared with benign cervical tumors, the semi-quantitative parameters of DCE-MR TTP and SI60% were more sensitive to malignant cervical tumors. CONCLUSION The quantitative and semi-quantitative parameters of DCE-MRI have high value in differentiating benign and malignant cervical tumors. When adopting conventional MRI to diagnose oncologic cervical tumors, the differential diagnosis of quantitative and semi-quantitative parameters of DCE-MRI has demonstrated a high clinical value by avoiding unnecessary radical surgeries.

Abstract
To analyze the correlation between quantitative contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) parameters and angiogenesis in primary small hepatocellular carcinoma (sHCC) with varying degrees of differentiation.According to varying degrees of differentiation, a total of 90 primary sHCC patients admitted to our hospital from July 2018 to January 2020 were selected and divided into poorly differentiated group (24 cases), moderately differentiated group (31 cases), and highly differentiated group (35 cases). All patients received real-time CEUS before surgery. The tumor diameter, microvascular morphology, grading of color blood flow, contrast-enhanced performance in different phases, quantitative CEUS parameters, expression of angiogenesis-related genes, and microvessel density (MVD) were compared among the 3 groups. The correlation between quantitative parameters of CEUS and angiogenesis indexes was analyzed by Spearman rank correlation analysis.Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) expression and MVD were negatively correlated with the time to peak (TTP), wash-out time, and peak accelerating time (PAT) (r < 0, P < .05), and were positively correlated with enhancing slope rate (ESR) and peak intensity increasing rate (PIIR) (r > 0, P < .05).CEUS is able to identify varying degrees of differentiation in primary sHCC, and the quantitative CEUS parameters are closely related to angiogenesis.

Abstract
Background Dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) is widely used to characterize and differentiate tumors. However, data regarding its diagnostic performance for the characterization of breast tumors are limited. In this study, we assessed the diagnostic performance of quantitative parameters derived from DECT in differentiating benign from malignant lesions and predicting histopathological and molecular subtypes in patients with breast cancer. Methods Dual-phase contrast-enhanced DECT of the thorax was performed on participants with breast tumors. Conventional CT attenuation and DECT quantitative parameters, including normalized iodine concentration (NIC), the slope of the spectral Hounsfield unit curve (λHu), and normalized effective atomic number (nZeff), were obtained and compared between benign and malignant lesions, invasive non-special carcinoma, and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), and among the four molecular subtypes of breast cancer. The diagnostic performance of the quantitative parameters was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results This study included 130 participants with 161 breast lesions (44 benign and 117 malignant). In the arterial and venous phase, NICs, λHu, nZeff, and attenuation were higher in malignant lesions than benign lesions (all P<0.001). The venous phase λHu had the best differential diagnostic capability, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.90, a sensitivity of 84.1% (37 of 44), a specificity of 86.3% (101 of 117), and an accuracy of 85.7% (138 of 161). The NICs in the arterial and venous phases were higher in invasive non-special carcinoma than DCIS (both P<0.001). In terms of diagnostic performance, NIC in the venous phase had an AUC of 0.77, a sensitivity of 75.0% (12 of 16), a specificity of 81.2% (82 of 101), and an accuracy of 80.3% (94 of 117). The luminal A subtype produced a lower venous phase NIC, and arterial and venous phase nZeff than the non-luminal A subtype (AUC of 0.91 for the combination of these three parameters). Conclusions Dual-energy CT quantitative parameters are a feasible and valuable noninvasive means of differentiating between benign and malignant lesions, and predicting histopathological and molecular subtypes in patients with breast cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The unbearable morbidity and significant mortality associated with traumatic cervical spine injuries (T-CSIs) have been complicated by difficulties in outcome prediction. OBJECTIVES This study aims to determine the correlation between quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) parameters and neurological outcome among patients with acute T-CSI. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a prospective study in which patients with T-CSI were recruited over a 12-month period. ASIA Impairment Scale (AIS) at admission, 6 weeks, and 3 months was assessed. Mean spinal cord compression (MSCC), mean canal compromise (MCC), and length of lesion (LOL) were calculated from MRI at admission, and correlation with neurological severity and outcome was determined. The data were analysed using SPSS version 21. A P-value of less than 0.05 was considered significant for associations. RESULTS Sixty-nine patients were enrolled comprising 55 males and 14 females giving a male-female ratio of 4.9:1. Their ages ranged from 18 to 74 years with a mean age of 40.2 ± 15.1 years. Injuries were ASIA A in 55.1% and ASIA E in 7.2% on admission. The mean MSCC, MCC, and LOL were higher for ASIA A and B and lowest in ASIA E injuries. Patients with good AIS (D and E) had significantly lower MSCC on admission (P = 0.032) and at 6 weeks (P = 0.000), and the LOL was also lower on admission (P = 0.000), at 6 weeks (P = 0.006), and at 3 months (P = 0.007). None of MRI parameters predicted outcome. CONCLUSION The MSCC, MCC, and LOL correlate with T-CSI severity but were not sufficient to predict outcome.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Anti-angiogenic drugs have become a research hotspot in recent years. However, dynamically observing their therapeutic effect at different time points during treatment is a clinical problem. PURPOSE To explore the feasibility of the quantitative parameters of spectral computed tomography (CT) in evaluating the anti-angiogenic effect of bevacizumab on rat C6 glioma. MATERIAL AND METHODS Twenty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats were used to establish the C6 glioma model. The rats were randomly divided into the experimental group (n = 13) and control group (n = 13). The experimental group was intraperitoneally injected with 0.2 µL/g bevacizumab every day, whereas the control group was injected with the same dose of normal saline every day for one week. Spectral CT scanning was performed on the 4th and 8th days after treatment; meanwhile, the brain tissues were collected by heart perfusion for H&E staining, and VEGF and HIF-1α immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS On the 4th and 8th days, significant differences in the 70-keV single-energy CT value, slope of the energy spectrum curve, and iodine concentration were found between the experimental group and the control group. Correlation analysis between immunohistochemistry and quantitative parameters of spectral CT showed that the single energy CT value of 70 keV, slope of the energy spectrum curve, and concentration of iodine were positively correlated with VEGF and HIF-1α at different time points in the experimental group and the control group. CONCLUSION Spectral CT multi-parameter imaging can be employed as a new method to evaluate the anti-angiogenic effect of bevacizumab on rat C6 glioma.

Abstract
Background: To compare the diagnostic performance of radiomics models with that of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) perfusion parameters for the preoperative prediction of extramural venous invasion (EMVI) in rectal cancer patients and to develop a preoperative nomogram for predicting the EMVI status. Methods: In total, 106 rectal cancer patients were enrolled in our study. All patients under went preoperative rectal high-resolution MRI and DCE-MRI. We built five models based on the perfusion parameters of DCE-MRI (quantitative model), the radiomics of T2-weighted (T2W) CUBE imaging (R1 model), DCE-MRI (R2 model), clinical features (clinical model), and clinical-radiomics features. The predictive efficacy of the radiomics signature was assessed and internally verified. The area under the receiver operating curve (AUC) was used to compare the diagnostic performance of different radiomics models and DCE-MRI quantitative parameters. The radiomics score and clinical-pathologic risk factors were incorporated into an easy-to-use nomogram. Results: The quantitative parameters K trans and Ve were significantly higher in the EMVI-positive group than in the EMVI-negative group (both P =0.02). K trans combined with Ve showed a fair degree of accuracy (AUC 0.680 in the training cohort and AUC 0.715 in the validation cohort) compared with K trans or Ve alone. The AUCs of the R1 and R2 models were 0.826, 0.715 and 0.872, 0.812 in the training and validation cohorts, respectively. In addition, the R2-C model yielded an AUC of 0.904 in the training cohort and 0.812 in the validation cohort. The nomogram was presented based on the clinical-radiomics model. The calibration curves showed good agreement. Conclusion: The radiomics nomogram that incorporates the radiomics score, histopathological grade and T stage demonstrated better diagnostic accuracy than the DCE-MRI quantitative parameters and may have significant clinical implications for the preoperative individualized prediction of EMVI in rectal cancer patients.

Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)quantitative parameters in the diagnosis of thyroid benign and malignant nodules. Methods The CEUS features of 85 histopathologically confirmed thyroid nodules were quantitatively analyzed using five parameters including rising time(RT),time to peak(TTP),area under the curve(AUC),maximum intensity(Imax),and mean transit time(mTT).The dynamic vascular pattern(DVP)curves were also drawn. Results The Imax(Z=-7.08,P=0.01)and AUC(Z=-2.03,P=0.04)of thyroid malignant nodules were significantly smaller than those of thyroid tissue,and the Imax(Z=-1.35,P=0.02)and AUC(Z=-0.21,P=0.02)of thyroid benign nodules were significantly larger than those of thyroid tissue.There were significant differences between thyroid benign and malignant nodules in Imax(Z=-4.16,P=0.00),AUC(Z=-3.01,P=0.01),and DVP curve types(P=0.00).RT(Z=-0.28,P=0.62),TTP(Z=-0.10,P=0.89),and mTT(Z=-0.79,P=0.05)were not significantly different between thyroid benign and malignant nodules. Conclusion The quantitative parameters of CEUS,especially Imax and AUC parameters,are valuable in the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS High-speed videoendoscopy (HSV) has potential to objectively quantify vibratory vocal fold characteristics during phonation. Glottal Analysis Tools (GAT) version 2018, developed in Erlangen, Germany, is software for determining various glottal area waveform (GAW) quantities. Before having GAT analyze HSV videos, segmenters have to define glottis manually across videos in a semiautomatic segmentation protocol. Such interventions are hypothesized to induce variability of subsequent GAW measure computation across segmenters and may attenuate GAT measures' reliability to a certain point. This study explored intersegmenter variability in GAT's GAW measures based on semiautomatic image processing. STUDY DESIGN Cohort study of rater reliability. METHODS In total, 20 HSV videos from normophonic and dysphonic subjects with various laryngeal disorders were selected for this study and segmented by three trained segmenters. They separately segmented glottis areas in the same frame sets of the videos. Upon analysis of GAW, GAT offers 46 measures related to topologic GAW dynamic characteristics, GAW periodicity and perturbation characteristics, and GAW harmonic components. To address GAT's reliability, intersegmenter-based variability in these measures was examined with intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). RESULTS In general, ICC behavior of the 46 GAW measures across three raters was highly acceptable. ICC of one parameter was moderate (0.5 < ICC < 0.75), good for seven parameters (0.75 < ICC < 0.9), and excellent for 38 parameters (0.9 < ICC). CONCLUSIONS Overall, high ICC values confirm clinical applicability of GAT for objective and quantitative assessment of HSV. Small intersegmenter differences with actual small parameter differences suggest that manual or semiautomatic segmentation in GAT does not noticeably influence clinical assessment outcome. Abstract
BACKGROUND Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) is a noninvasive method to evaluate the microcirculation of bone marrow in local tissue, which will be a new tool for the diagnosis of osteoporosis. OBJECTIVES To investigate the relationship between quantitative perfusion parameters (Ktrans, Kep and Ve) and bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women. MATERIAL AND METHODS The subjects were divided into 3 groups according to T value: normal bone mass group (T value ≥-1.0); bone loss group (-2.5 < T <-1.0); and osteoporosis group (T ≤-2.5). Ktrans, Kep and Ve of the lumbar spine were measured using quantitative DCE-MRI. The relationship between these parameters and age was analyzed. RESULTS Bone mineral density of the lumbar spine and femoral neck gradually decreased with age. The values of Ktrans, Kep and Ve significantly decreased with age. The values of Ktrans, Kep and Ve of the lumbar vertebrae in the osteoporosis group were lower than those in the bone loss and normal bone mass group. Bone mineral density was positively correlated with the Ktrans and Ve of the lumbar vertebrae. CONCLUSIONS The incidences of bone loss and osteoporosis increased with age. The measurement of BMD was conducive to early diagnosis of osteoporosis. Ktrans, Kep and Ve values of the lumbar vertebra decreased with age, and have a positive correlation with lumbar BMD. The value of DCE-MRI may play a role in the diagnostic algorithm of osteoporosis.

Abstract
Objectives: In this study our first aim was to evaluate the diagnostic concordance of myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) by pharmacological stress test with adenosine (APST) with coronary angiography (CAG). The secondary aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between CAG findings and automated analysis parameters such as left ventricular ejection fraction, summed stress score (SSS), summed rest score, summed difference score (SDS), stress MPS defect percentage ratio (extent) and transient ischemic dilation (TID) obtained by myocardial perfusion imaging single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Methods: A total of 129 patients (62 male, 67 female, median age: 60.02) undergoing MPS due to suspicion of coronary ischemia who also underwent subsequent CAG in the last year were included in this study, their MPS data and CAG results were compared. Results: There was no statistically significant diagnostic concordance when visual evaluation of MPS, quantitative MPS parameters and exercise treadmill test (ETT) electrocardiography results were used alone. In fact, diagnostic concordance was higher when automated analysis parameters like TID, SSS and extent values were added to MPS SPECT visual analyses. There was diagnostic concordance in 57.9% of APST patients and 41.7% of ETT patients. There was diagnostic concordance in 75.8% of APST patients and 52.6% of ETT patients who were older than 65 years of age. Conclusion: In our study, we found that the use of APST during MPS increases diagnostic concordance with CAG. Therefore, we think that it would be appropriate to use APST in women and elderly patients with limited exercise habits. The CAG diagnostic mismatch is far above what it should be when MPS reporting is only done with visual data, and it is not supported by quantitative data such as TID, SSS, SDS and extent.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A wide range of specificity values for the differentiation of benign and malignant soft-tissue tumors show the limitations of conventional MRI features. The data obtained by quantitative analysis of diffusion-weighted image (DWI) and dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRIs would provide more objective results, especially in terms of cellularity and perfusion. PURPOSE To evaluate the diagnostic efficacies of DWI and DCE MRI for the differentiation of malignant and benign soft-tissue tumors. STUDY TYPE Retrospective. SUBJECTS In all, 136 patients (68 females, 68 males; age range 18-86 years, mean age 57.2 years) with soft-tissue tumors. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3 T, DWI, DCE. ASSESSMENT Tumor sizes, margins, locations, the presence of involvement in bone or neurovascular bundle, peritumoral edema, heterogeneity, and tumor necrosis were investigated on conventional MR images. On DWIs, visual signal drops were assessed and ADC (apparent diffusion coefficient) values were measured. Ktrans , Kep , Ve , and iAUC values, and time-concentration curve (TCC) types were determined using DCE images. STATISTICAL TESTS The data were statistically analyzed to determine the abilities to differentiate benign and malignant tumors using the chi-square test, two-sample t-test, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. RESULTS Seventy-three cases were malignant and 63 benign. Age (mean ages of benign/malignant tumors, 51.75/61.86 years; P = 0.0002) and gender (F:M = 40:23 [benign], F:M = 28:45 [malignant], P = 0.003) influenced the distinction between benign and malignant. Sizes, margins, neurovascular bundle involvement, peritumoral edema, and heterogeneity of the tumors on conventional MR images and DCE parameters (Ktrans , Kep , Ve , and iAUC, and TCC plots) obtained from focal region of interest within a narrow volume of interest significantly differentiated benign and malignant lesions (all P < 0.0001, except Ve [P = 0.0004]). For DWI with ADC mapping, all ADC values and visually signal drops were also significant (P < 0.0001). DATA CONCLUSION DWI and DCE-MRI and derived variables were significantly helpful in discriminating benign and malignant soft-tissue tumors complementary to conventional MRI. Abstract
Long bone inner structure and cross-sectional geometry display a strong functional signal, leading to convergences, and are widely analyzed in comparative anatomy at small and large taxonomic scales. Long bone microanatomical studies have essentially been conducted on transverse sections but also on a few longitudinal ones. Recent studies highlighted the interest in analyzing variations of the inner structure along the diaphysis using a qualitative as well as a quantitative approach. With the development of microtomography, it has become possible to study three-dimensional (3D) bone microanatomy and, in more detail, the form-function relationships of these features. This study focused on the selection of quantitative parameters to describe in detail the cross-sectional shape changes and distribution of the osseous tissue along the diaphysis. Two-dimensional (2D) virtual transverse sections were also performed in the two usual reference planes and results were compared with those obtained based on the whole diaphysis analysis. The sample consisted in 14 humeri and 14 femora of various mammalian taxa that are essentially terrestrial. Comparative quantitative analyses between different datasets made it possible to highlight the parameters that are strongly impacted by size and phylogeny and the redundant ones, and thus to estimate their relevance for use in form-function analyses. The analysis illustrated that results based on 2D transverse sections are similar for both sectional planes; thus if a strong bias exists when mixing sections from the two reference planes in the same analysis, it would not problematic to use either one plane or the other in comparative studies. However, this may no longer hold for taxa showing a much stronger variation in bone microstructure along the diaphysis. Finally, the analysis demonstrated the significant contribution of the parameters describing variations along the diaphysis, and thus the interest in performing 3D analyses; this should be even more fruitful for heterogeneous diaphyses. In addition, covariation analyses showed that there is a strong interest in removing the size effect to access the differences in the microstructure of the humerus and femur. This methodological study provides a reference for future quantitative analyses on long bone inner structure and should make it possible, through a detailed knowledge of each descriptive parameter, to better interpret results from the multivariate analyses associated with these studies. This will have direct implications for studies in vertebrate anatomy, but also in paleontology and anthropology.

Abstract
Purpose This study aimed to evaluate the difference of mass in dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) characteristics between low-risk and non-low-risk breast cancers and to explore the possible pathological basis. Materials and Methods Approval from the institutional review board and informed consent were acquired for this study. The MR images of 104 patients with pathologically proven breast cancer (104 lesions) were prospectively analyzed. All of included patients were Chinese woman. The DCE-MRI morphologic findings, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values, quantitative DCE-MRI parameters, and pathological biomarkers between the two subtypes of breast cancer were compared. The quantitative DCE-MRI parameters and ADC values were added to the morphologic features in multivariate models to evaluate diagnostic performance in predicting low-risk breast cancer. The values were further subjected to the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results Low-risk tumors showed significantly lower Ktrans and Kepvalues (t = 2.065, P = 0.043 and t = 3.548, P = 0.001, respectively) and higher ADC value (t = 4.713, P = 0.000) than non-low-risk breast cancers. Our results revealed no significant differences in clinic data and conventional imaging findings between the two breast cancer subtypes. Adding the quantitative DCE-MRI parameters and ADC values to conventional MRI improved the diagnostic performance of MRI: The area under the ROC improved from 0.63 to 0.91. Low-risk breast cancers showed significantly lower matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 expression (P = 0.000), lower MMP-9 expression (P = 0.001), and lower microvessel density (MVD) values (P = 0.008) compared with non-low-risk breast cancers. Ktrans and Kep values were positively correlated with pathological biomarkers. The ADC value showed a significant inverse correlation with pathological biomarkers. Conclusions The prediction parameter using Ktrans, Kep, and ADC obtained on DCE-MRI and diffusion-weighted imaging could facilitate the identification of low-risk breast cancers. Decreased biological factors, including MVD, vascular endothelial growth factor, MMP-2, and MMP-9, may explain the possible pathological basis.

Abstract
Metastatic bone disease is a frequent complication of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and causes skeletal-related events, which result in a poor prognosis. Currently, no standard method has been developed to precisely assess the therapeutic response of bone metastases (BM) and the early efficacy of anti-angiogenic therapy, which does not conform to the concept of precision medicine. This study aimed to investigate the usefulness of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) for precise evaluation of the response to chemotherapy with anti-angiogenic agents in NSCLC patients with BM. Patients were randomly assigned to a treatment group (vinorelbine + cisplatin [NP] + recombinant human endostatin [rh-endostatin]) or a control group (NP + placebo). All patients were evaluated before treatment and after 2 cycles of treatment using DCE-MRI quantitative analysis technology for BM lesions and chest computed tomography (CT). Correlations between changes in the DCE-MRI quantitative parameters and treatment effect were analyzed. We enrolled 33 patients, of whom 28 were evaluable (20 in the treatment group and 8 in the control group). The results suggested a higher objective response rate (30% vs. 0%), better overall survival (21.44 ± 17.28 months vs. 7.71 ± 4.68 months), and a greater decrease in the transport constant (Ktrans) value (60% vs. 4.4%) in the treatment group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The Ktrans values in the "partial remission plus stable disease (PR + SD)" group were significantly lower after treatment (P < 0.05). Patients with a decrease of > 50% in the Ktrans value showed a significantly better overall survival than those with a decrease of ≤ 50% (13.2 vs. 9.8 months, P < 0.05). Ktrans as a DEC-MRI quantitative parameter could be used for the precise evaluation of BM lesions after anti-angiogenic therapy and as a predictor of survival. In addition, we reconfirmed the anti-angiogenic effect of rh-endostatin in NSCLC patients with BM.

Abstract
This research work was conducted in order to investigate the agronomic feasibility of Pleurotusostreatus by reusing spent substrates previously in crops of the same mushroom. After the physical and chemical characterization of the substrates, we have evaluated quantitative production parameters in one growing season. As base material, the experiment was arranged in wheat straw (WS) and spent Pleurotus substrate (SPS) to generate prepared substrates with the participation of the same, alone, and mixed in different proportions with wheat bran (WB). Unsupplemented SPS, supplemented SPS with 600 g of WB, mixture of WS + unsupplemented SPS, and mixture of WS + supplemented SPS with 600 g of WB, are prepared substrates with biological efficiencies (BE) ranging between 41 and 66% and an excellent unit weight of sporophores harvested. All correlations established among the germination index (GI), earliness (expressed as days to first harvest), yield components and BE were significant and positive correlation coefficients expressed.

Abstract
PURPOSE To test the reproducibility and accuracy of pharmacokinetic parameter measurements on five analysis software packages (SPs) for dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI), using simulated and clinical data. MATERIALS AND METHODS This retrospective study was Institutional Review Board-approved. Simulated tissues consisted of pixel clusters of calculated dynamic signal changes for combinations of Tofts model pharmacokinetic parameters (volume transfer constant [K(trans) ], extravascular extracellular volume fraction [ve ]), longitudinal relaxation time (T1 ). The clinical group comprised 27 patients treated for rectal cancer, with 36 3T DCE-MR scans performed between November 2012 and February 2014, including dual-flip-angle T1 mapping and a dynamic postcontrast T1 -weighted, 3D spoiled gradient-echo sequence. The clinical and simulated images were postprocessed with five SPs to measure K(trans) , ve , and the initial area under the gadolinium curve (iAUGC). Modified Bland-Altman analysis was conducted, intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and within-subject coefficients of variation were calculated. RESULTS Thirty-one examinations from 23 patients were of sufficient technical quality and postprocessed. Measurement errors were observed on the simulated data for all the pharmacokinetic parameters and SPs, with a bias ranging from -0.19 min(-1) to 0.09 min(-1) for K(trans) , -0.15 to 0.01 for ve , and -0.65 to 1.66 mmol.L(-1) .min for iAUGC. The ICC between SPs revealed moderate agreement for the simulated data (K(trans) : 0.50; ve : 0.67; iAUGC: 0.77) and very poor agreement for the clinical data (K(trans) : 0.10; ve : 0.16; iAUGC: 0.21). CONCLUSION Significant errors were found in the calculated DCE-MRI pharmacokinetic parameters for the perfusion analysis SPs, resulting in poor inter-software reproducibility. J. Magn. Reson. Abstract
This pilot study investigates the value of baseline total lesion glycolysis (TLG) in (18)F-FDG PET/CT scans for prediction of progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL). We also evaluate the role of other quantitative parameters measured at baseline and interim PET/CT for prediction of PFS. A retrospective review (2003-2010) of patients with DLBCL who underwent (18)F-FDG PET/CT before, after cycle two, and after completion of R-CHOP treatment, identified 84 patients. Twenty patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Standardized uptake values (SUVmax and SUVmean), total metabolic tumor volume (TMTV), and TLG were measured in baseline and interim PET/CT. Relationship between quantitative parameters and PFS was statistically analyzed using Log-rank test and univariate Cox-regression analysis. Of 20 patients (F/M: 7/13, range: 20-73 years), six patients (30%) developed recurrence after chemotherapy (mean follow-up: 51.35±17.05 months, range: 12-81 months). Results of statistical analysis showed TLG as the only discriminator of recurrence at baseline (cut-point: 704.77 g, HR: 11.21, CI: 1.29-97, P=0.02). Among the interim PET/CT parameters, SUVmean (cut -point: 2.07, HR: 6.31, CI: 1.25-31.61), SUVmax (cut-point: 2.3, HR: 6.31, CI: 1.25-31.61), and TLG (cut-point: 96.5 g, HR: 6.38, CI: 1.29 - 31.61) could all help predict PFS (P<0.05). Although not routinely reported, high baseline TLG may be a useful index to identify patients with DLBCL who are at increased risk for relapse after conventional R-CHOP. If confirmed in larger prospective studies, this may allow the selection of alternate therapeutic choices at the onset of treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Functional status/contractile behaviour of hibernating myocardium was analyzed objectively by analyzing the available quantitative parameters obtained on gated SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) using Emory cardiac toolbox (ECTB) software. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this retrospective study, 70 patients with perfusion defects on (99)Tc-Sestamibi MPI (12 females, 58 males) who also underwent (18)F-FDG Cardiac PET study for assessment of hibernating myocardium were included for analysis. Patients were divided in three categories based on summed rest score (SRS) obtained from ECTB software, depicting the extent of perfusion defects. In a study population matched for extent of perfusion defects, quantitative parameters obtained from ECTB software such as left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end diastolic volume (EDV), left ventricular end systolic volume (ESV) and left ventricular stroke volume (SV) were compared between patients showing evidence of hibernating myocardium and patients showing no evidence of hibernating myocardium. Student 't' test was applied on the given observations and a P-value <0.05 was considered as a significant difference between the means in two categories. RESULTS There was no significant difference in LVEF, EDV, ESV and SV measurements between those who demonstrate hibernating myocardium and those who show no evidence of hibernating myocardium across all the categories of patients. Few trends were evident in the present study in LVEF, EDV and ESV measurements i.e., fall in mean LVEF with increasing SRS and rise in mean EDV and ESV with increasing SRS. CONCLUSIONS The findings were consistent with the nature of hibernating myocardium i.e., non-contractile and dysfunctional. The fall in the LVEF was suggestive of deteriorating myocardial function with increasing extent of perfusion defects. The increasing left ventricular EDV and ESV with increasing extent of perfusion defects was suggestive of rising incidence of gross morphological LV cavity dilatation or "Dilated ischemic cardiomyopathy" in these patients.
