Abstract
PURPOSE To describe the clinical features and histopathologic findings of Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) with ophthalmic involvement diagnosed at a Mexican ophthalmologic referral center in a period of 62 years. RESULTS A total of 17 cases of RDD with ophthalmologic manifestations in Mexican-mestizo patients were collected. Female predominance was observed in 12 of 17 patients. The mean age was 36 years with a range of 12-76 years. The median age at presentation was 32 years. The orbit was the most affected location with 15 cases. Conjunctival disease was seen in 4 cases: two as isolated lesions, the rest with orbital or uveal involvement . One case suggested choroidal RDD associated to conjunctival and orbital lesion. Three cases presented multifocal disease. A patient with orbital affection developed extranodal disease elsewhere. No concurrent lymphadenopathy was observed in any patient.Histopathological examination revealed classic RDD findings in all cases: A polymorphous cellular infiltrate composed by lymphocytes, plasma cells and large histiocytes with emperipolesis hallmark of the disease. Immunohistochemically, histiocytes were positive for S-100 protein and CD68 in 15 cases. CONCLUSION RDD of the eye and ocular adnexa in Mexican-mestizo patients is common in middle-aged women frequently as an isolated orbital lesion. Histopathology is necessary for accurate diagnosis. Most patients had a favourable outcome after medical and surgical treatment. To the best of our knowledge this is the largest case series of RDD of the eye and ocular adnexa in Latin-American patients.

Abstract
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma comprises a heterogeneous group of haematological malignancies, classified according to their clinic, anatomic-pathological features and, lately, to their molecular biomarkers. Despite the therapeutic advances, nearly half of the patients will die because of this disease. The new diagnostic tools have been the cornerstone to design recent therapy targets, which must be included in the current treatment guidelines of this sort of neoplasms by means of clinical trials and evidence-based medicine. In the face of poor diagnoses devices in most of the Mexican hospitals, we recommend the present diagnose stratification, and treatment guidelines for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, based on evidence. They include the latest and most innovative therapeutic approaches, as well as specific recommendations for hospitals with limited framework and therapy resources.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Intussusception in an adult must make us suspect the presence of a tumor (benign or potentially dangerous) as the most frequent cause. Accurate diagnosis is of great importance in order to provide appropriate treatment and improve patient prognosis. CLINICAL CASE We report the case of a 42-year-old male with abdominal pain. We performed a CT and found a small bowel intussusception. Definitive diagnosis according to the surgical specimen was inflammatory fibroid polyp (Vanek's polyp). CONCLUSIONS Vanek's polyp is a benign lesion that occurs most frequently in the stomach and secondarily in the small bowel. Generally, it is uncommon, and its etiology is not completely known. Accurate diagnosis is done with immunohistochemistry. Because of the consequences that depend on the size and location of the lesion, it may be considered a malignant lesion. Treatment is resection.

Abstract
Eosinophilic cholecystitis is a rare disease with clinical presentation similar to acute cholecystitis. The diagnosis is based on typical symptoms of acute cholecystitis with presence of more than 90% eosinophilic infiltration within the gallbladder wall. The case of a 27-year-old woman with periodic epigastric pain during ten years is presented. Routine and Boyden s technique biliary ultrasounds were normal. Hepatobiliary scintigraphy showed delayed gallbladder empty and patient underwent endoscopic sphinterotomy. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed with uneventful postoperative course. Histopathologic examination of the gallblader demonstrated infiltration with eosinophils, consistent with acute eosinophilic cholecystitis.

Abstract
Angiocentric lymphomas (AL) involving the mid-face are infrequent lesions. Their incidence seems to be higher in certain Asian and Latin American countries, where most of the reported series reveal a predominance of T-cell lineage and a high frequency of EBV-positive cells. The clinical and pathological features of 12 AL that affected the palate are presented. Immunophenotypic studies were performed in nine of these cases. Seven (77%) demonstrated T-cell lineage, one was of B-cell origin and one could not be classified. The high incidence of T-cell lesions in this and other studies supports the existence of geographical and possibly of etiological differences in these neoplasms.

Abstract
Tissue eosinophilia is commonly seen in Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas of T-cell lineage. In contrast, eosinophilia is infrequent in non-Hodgkin's lymphomas of B-cell origin. We describe five-B-cell lymphomas with exuberant tissue eosinophils. According to the Working Formulation, three were classified as large-cell immunoblastic, one as small lymphocytic lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and one as low-grade, not further subclassified, with features of monocytoid B-cell lymphoma. Immunophenotypic studies in each case revealed B-cell lineage; neoplastic cells expressed monotypic immunoglobulin light chain (four of five cases) or pan-B-cell antigens (five of five cases) and were negative for T-cell antigens. Southern blot hybridization in one case revealed immunoglobulin gene rearrangements, further confirming B-cell lineage. Eosinophilopoiesis is stimulated by interleukin 5 (IL-5), and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) has been shown to upregulate IL-5 production. Therefore, both EBV infection and IL-5 expression were investigated as possibly pathogenetic mechanisms for the eosinophilia. However, both in situ hybridization studies for EBV mRNA and IL-5 mRNA were negative in the neoplastic cells. In one tumor, IL-5 was abundant in the cytoplasm of the eosinophils, a pattern similar to that seen in five cases of Hodgkin's disease studied with the same technique. Although rare, marked tissue eosinophilia may be associated with B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. Immunophenotypic or molecular genetic analyses are needed to make the correct diagnosis.
