Abstract
Modern civilization has been highly suffering from energy crisis and environmental pollutions. These two burning issues are directly and indirectly created from fossil fuel consumption and uncontrolled industrialization. The above critical issue can be solved through the proper utilization of green energy sources where no greenhouse gases will be generated upon burning of such materials. Hydrogen is the most eligible candidate for this purpose. Among various methods of hydrogen generation, electrocatalytic process is one of the most efficient methods because of easy handling and high efficiency. In these aspects Co-based nanomaterials are considered to be extremely significant as they can be utilized as efficient, recyclable and ideal catalytic system. In this article a series of Co-based nano-electrocatalysts has been discussed with proper structure-property relationship and their medium dependency. Therefore, such type of stimulating summary on recently reported electrocatalysts and their activity may be helpful for scientists of the corresponding field as well as for broader research communities. This can be inspiration for materials researchers to fabricate active catalysts for the production of hydrogen gas in room temperature.

Abstract
We have successfully synthesized a new Ni(II)-based coordination polymer (CP) [Ni2(cis-1,4-chdc)2(4,4'-bpy)3(H2O)2] (1); (cis-1,4- H2chdc=cis-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid and 4,4'-bpy=4,4'-bipyridine) employing slow diffusion method in a single pot technique. The connectivity of Ni(II) ions and bridging cis-1,4-chdc ligand gives rise to a three-dimensional (3D) framework with 2-fold interpenetrated diamondoid topology. Interestingly, the synthesized CP acts as efficient catalyst for electrocatalytic water splitting. The water oxidation activity of compound 1 exhibits Tafel slope equivalent to 361.48 mV.dec-1 for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and 353.53 mV.dec-1 for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in an alkaline medium while almost similar values of Tafel slope for HER and OER equivalent to 287.33 mV.dec-1 and 289.93 mV.dec-1 respectively in acidic medium. Thus, the compound 1 has excellent efficacy in catalyzing HER and OER in acidic as well as alkaline medium, which is ascribed to its distinctive 3D architecture.

Abstract
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is considered as a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Inflammatory cytokines play an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of atherosclerosis. The aim of the study was to find out the association of C-reactive protein (CRP) and triglyceride (TG) level on the severity of CAD in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD). This cross-sectional study was performed in the Department of Cardiology, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period of March 2018 to February 2021. Total 431 patients with ischemic heart disease were enrolled after taking informed written consent. CRP values were categorized into normal (<6 mg/L), borderline (6-10 mg/L) and high (>10mg/L) and TG level were categorized into normal (<150 mg/dl), borderline (150-199mg/dl) and high (≥200 mg/dl). Patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) were stratified according to CRP value and TG level. Severity of CAD was assessed by the Gensini score. Most of the patients (33.4%) belonged to age 51-60 years. The mean age was 51.31±10.30 years. The majority (74.5%) of patients were male. Among risk factors, the highest 205(47.6%) patients were smokers followed by hypertension 190(44.1%) and diabetes mellitus 175(40.5%). The association of TG and CRP with the whole spectrum of IHD was found statistically significant (p<0.05). Severe CAD was found higher in high TG and high CRP level group compared with the other groups and was statistically significant. Inflammation assessed by high CRP and hypertriglyceridemia associated with the risk and severity of CAD.

Abstract
The development and utilization of coordination polymers (CPs) have drawn interest for potential applications in different fields. Detection of metal ions in efficient and selective manners is an important field of research. It paves the way to protect human health by balancing toxic metal ions and biologically active metal ions in the atmosphere. In this regard, a new one-dimensional (1D) 4-(1-naphthylvinyl)pyridine (4-nvp) based CP [Cd(NCS)2(4-nvp)2]n (1) was synthesized and characterized structurally by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Interestingly, this 1D CP underwent supramolecular aggregation via π⋯π stacking interactions, which specifically generated an environment for a potent "turn on" response in the presence of trivalent cations (Fe3+, Al3+, and Cr3+) in the nanomolar range but remained silent in the presence of other metal ions. Density functional theory (DFT) computations and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were performed to establish the sensing phenomena. Fascinatingly, utilizing the sensitivity of 1 in an aqueous medium, a hands-on portable cotton swab kit was developed for instant identification of these three important trivalent metal cations.

Abstract
Energy is the center of importance for the survivability of civilization. Use of fossil fuel is going to be suspended, and renewable energy is technologically costlier. In the quest for new energy sources and to minimize fuel expenditure, the design of energy efficient devices is one of the solutions. Toward this objective, highly delocalized π-acidic N-hetreocycle pyrazine bridged Cd(II)-based coordination polymers (CPs), [Cd(tppz)(adc)(MeOH)] (1), [Cd(tppz)(trep)] (2), and [Cd(tppz)(2,6-ndc)] (3; tppz = 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine) are synthesized in combination with π-accessible dicarboxylato linkers (acetylene dicarboxylic acid (H2adc), terephthalic acid (H2trep), and 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid (2,6 H2ndc)). The structures of the compounds, 1-3, have been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction measurements. Analysis of electrical property demonstrates that light irradiation enhances the conductivity and follows the order 3 > 2 > 1; compound 3 possesses the highest conductivity (1.93 × 10-3 (light), 1.12 × 10-4 S m-1 dark)), than 2 (1.80 × 10-4 (light), 1.10 × 10-4 S m-1 (dark)) and 1 (5.06 × 10-5 (light), 4.72 × 10-5 S m-1 (dark)). This light-induced electrical conductivity can pave the way toward fabrication of an active electronic device by using the discussed materials.

Abstract
Multidimensional applicability of functional materials is one of the focal attractions in today's scientific research. Highly stable and crystalline coordination polymers served as one of the active members in the club of multifunctional materials. Toward this concept, a 3-dimensional (3D) coordination framework, {[Zn2(tdc)2(pcih)2]n} (1) (tdc2-, 2,5-thiophene dicarboxylate; pcih, pyridine-4-carboxaldehyde isonicotinoyl hydrazine), is designed and has been structurally well characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography. One of the carboxylate groups of tdc2- chelates to Zn(II), while the other carboxylato group (-COO) acts as bridging-O to neighboring Zn(II); the pcih serves as pyridyl-N bridging motif to two Zn(II) centers. The optical band gap, 3.83 eV (Tauc's plot), implies probable semiconducting ability of the material. Interestingly, the device fabricated using compound 1 measures the electrical conductivity, 2.21 × 10-5 S cm-1, and series resistance (Rs), 807 Ω, at the dark phase, which are improved significantly to 6.36 × 10-5 S cm-1 and 460 Ω, respectively, under illumination conditions. Isoniazid, used to synthesize pcih and hence the Zn(II) compound 1, is a medicine; so, the medicinal efficiency of 1 is checked by measuring the anticancer activity against MDA-MB-231, HeLa, HCT-116, and HepG2 cells. It is observed that drug efficacy is highest on MDA-MB-231 cells (IC50: 19.43 ± 1.36 μM) than other cancer cells [IC50: 24.43 ± 2.02 μM (HeLa), 26.06 ± 3.48 μM (HCT-116), and 44.28 ± 3.04 μM (HepG2)]. Therefore, the material has significant contribution in the area of energy and health toward the sustainable development goals.

Abstract
The design and synthesis of electrically conductive coordination polymers (CPs) are of special interest due to their applications in the fabrication of many environmentally benign emerging technologies, such as molecular wires, photovoltaic cells, light emitting diodes (LEDs), field effect transistors (FETs) and Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs). Owing to their structural flexibility, easy functionality and adjustable energy levels, CPs are promising candidates for providing a better pathway for superior charge transport. Again, the utilization of visible light as an external stimulus to control and manoeuvre the electrical properties of the CPs is exceptionally motivating for the development of many optoelectronic devices, such as photodetectors, photo-switches, photodiodes and chemiresistive sensors. The applications of such materials in devices will solve questions regarding the energy crisis and environmental concerns. This study provides an overview of the recent advances in the development of photo-responsive CPs and the possibility of their application in developing optoelectronic devices. In this regard, a thorough literature survey was performed and the studies related to the fabrication of photosensitive conducting CPs for applications in optoelectronic devices are listed.

Superior Interfacial Contact Yields Efficient Electron Transfer Rate and Enhanced Solar Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation in M/C 3N 4 Schottky Junctions. Abstract
Various literature studies (Table 6) have reported that dispersion of metal nanoparticles (NPs) on graphitic carbon nitride g-C3N4 (M/CN) has considerably improved the photocatalytic hydrogen yield. It is understood that metal NPs create active sites on the surface of CN and act as a cocatalyst. However, the precise changes induced by different metal NPs on the surface of CN still elude us. Here, we report a thorough understanding and comparison of the morphology, metal-support interactions, interfacial charge transfer kinetics, and band characteristics in different M/CN (M = Pt, Pd, Au, Ag, Cu) correlated with photocatalytic activity. Among all metals, Pt/CN was found to be the best performer both under sunlight and UV-visible irradiation. Under sunlight, maximum H2@ 2.7 mmol/h/g was observed over Pt/CN followed by Pd/CN > Au/CN > Ag/CN > Cu/CN ≈ CN. The present study revealed that among all metals, Pt formed superior interfacial contact with g-C3N4 as compared to other metals. The maximum Schottky barrier height (Φb,Pt) of 0.66 V was observed at Pt/CN followed by Φb,Au/CN (0.46 V) and Φb,Pd/CN (0.05 V). The presence of electron-deficient Pt in Pt-XPS, decrease in the intensity of d-DOS of Pt near the Fermi level in VB-XPS, increase in CB tail states, and cathodic shift in Vfb in MS plots sufficiently confirmed strong metal-support interactions in Pt/CN. Due to the SPR effect, Au and Ag NPs suffered from agglomeration and poor dispersion during photodeposition. Finely dispersed Pt NPs (2-4 nm, 53% dispersion) successfully competed with shallow/deep trap states and drove the photogenerated electrons to active metallic sites in a drastically reduced time period as investigated by femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. Typically, an interfacial electron transfer rate, KIET,avg, of 2.5 × 1010 s-1 was observed for Pt/CN, while 0.087 × 1010 s-1 was observed in Au/CN. Band alignment/potentials at M/CN Schottky junctions were derived and most favorable in Pt/CN with CB tail states much above the water reduction potential; however, in the case of Pd, these extend much below the H+/H2 potential and hence behave like deep trap states. Thus, in Pd/CN (τ0 = 4200 ps, 49%) and Ag/CN (3870 ps, 53%), electron deep trapping dominates over charge transfer to active sites. The present study will help in designing futuristic new cocatalyst-photocatalyst systems.

Abstract
Pyridyl-substituted imidazoquinoline, a potent fluorescent framework, is advantageous to architect multifunctional coordination networks for sensing and fabricating emergent electrical conductors. In this work, a Cd(II)-based one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymer (1D CP), [Cd(glu)2(pbiq)2(H2O)]n (1), [H2glu = glutaric acid and pbiq = 4-(6-(pyridin-4-yl)benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c]quinazoline)], has been structurally confirmed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The H-bonding and π···π interactions built a three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular structure that strongly emits at 416 nm in acetonitrile suspension. Potentially intrusive nitroaromatics (NAs) and trinitrophenol (TNP) selectively quench the strong emission of 1, and the highest quenching is noted in the case of TNP. A detection limit (limit of detection (LOD)) of 1.51 × 10-7 M for TNP is determined. The band gap (3.31 eV) of 1 recognizes semiconducting behavior, and an electronic device is fabricated. The correlation of current vs voltage (I-V plot) reveals a substantial non-ohmic electrical conductivity of 1 (Λ: 1.10 × 10-5 S m-1) along with a low energy barrier (ΦB: 0.69), and the series resistance (Rs) becomes 6.21 kΩ.

Abstract
Photoluminescence activity of coordination polymers (CPs) has evoked intricate applications in the field of materials science, especially sensing of ions/molecules. In the present study, 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine (tppz) and 5-aminoisophthalate (HAIPA-) coordinated to Cd(II) to architect a coordination polymer, {[Cd(HAIPA)(tppz)(OH)]·3H2O}n (CP1) which unveils blue emission in an aqueous acetonitrile (98% aqueous) suspension. The emission is selectively quenched by Pd2+ only without interference in the presence of as many as 16 other cations. The structure of CP1 shows the presence of a free -COOH group, and the interlayer (-CO)O(2)···O(7) (OC-) distance, 4.242 Å, along with the π···π interactions (3.990, 3.927 Å), may make a cavity which suitably accommodates only Pd2+ (van der Waal's radius, 1.7 Å) through the Pd(II)-carboxylato (-COO-Pd) coordination. The stability of the composite, [CP1 + Pd2+] may be assessed from the fluorescence quenching experiment, and the Stern-Volmer constant (KSV) is 7.2 × 104 M-1. Therefore, the compound, CP1, is a promising sensor for Pd(II) in a selective manner with limit of detection (LOD), 0.08 μM. The XPS spectra of CP1 and [CP1 + Pd2+] have proven the presence of Pd2+ in the host and the existence of a coordinated -COO-Pd bond. Interestingly, inclusion of Pd2+ in CP1 decreases the band gap from 3.61 eV (CP1) to 3.05 eV ([CP1 + Pd2+]) which lies in the semiconducting region and has exhibited improved electrical conductivity from 7.42 × 10-5 (CP1) to 1.20 × 10-4 S m-1 ([CP1 + Pd2+]). Upon light irradiation, the electrical conductivities are enhanced to 1.45 × 10-4 S m-1 (CP1) and 3.81 × 10-4 S m-1 ([CP1 + Pd2+]); which validates the highly desired photoresponsive device applications. Therefore, such type of materials may serve as SDG-army (sustainable development goal) to battle against the environmental issues and energy crisis.

Abstract
Dynamic photoactuating crystals have become a sensation due to their potential applications in developing smart medical devices, molecular machines, artificial muscles, flexible electronics actuators, probes and microrobots. Here we report the synthesis of two iso-structural metal-organic crystals, [Zn(4-ohbz)2(4-nvp)2] (1) and [Cd(4-ohbz)2(4-nvp)2] (2) {H4-ohbz = 4-hydroxy benzoic acid; 4-nvp = 4-(1-naphthylvinyl)pyridine} which undergo topochemical [2 + 2] cycloaddition under UV irradiation as well as sunlight to generate a dimerized product of discrete metal-complex [Zn(4-ohbz)2(rctt-4-pncb)] {rctt-4-pncb = 1,3-bis(4'-pyridyl)-2,4-bis(naphthyl)cyclobutane} (1') and one-dimensional coordination polymer (1D CP) [Cd(4-ohbz)2(rctt-4-pncb)] (2') respectively, in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal (SCSC) process. The Zn-based compound demonstrates photosalient behaviour, wherein crystals show jumping, splitting, rolling, and swelling upon UV irradiation. However, the Cd-based crystals do not show such behaviour maintaining the initial supramolecular packing and space group. Thus the photomechanical behaviour can be induced by choosing a suitable metal ion. The above findings are thoroughly validated by quantitative density functional theory (DFT) calculations which show that the Zn-based crystal shifts towards an orthorhombic structure to resolve the anisotropic UV-induced mechanical strain. Furthermore, the mechano-structure-property relationship has been established by complimentary nanoindentation measurements, which are in-line with the DFT-predicted single crystal values.

Abstract
Among other valvular heart disease Aortic stenosis (AS) is the most common in the developed world. Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is most acceptable treatment option for patient with severely calcified aortic stenosis with high and intermediate risk group. Among several challenges, one of the main challenges is to deal with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV). Non-circular annulus, bulky leaflets leading to perivalvular leaks and risk for rupture and often very severe calcification may contribute to periprocedural strokes leading to poor clinical outcome. This case, a 68-year-old woman with a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), hypothyroidism, bicuspid aortic valve and severe aortic stenosis, bronchial asthma, who had repeatedly refused any suggestion for open heart surgery, was our volunteer candidate for TAVR. After successful TAVR the peak pressure gradient decreased from 100mmHg to 17mmHg. So, TAVR could be a viable option for highly selected patients with severe aortic stenosis and bicuspid aortic valve who have favourable anatomy.

Abstract
Radial artery occlusion (RAO) is now a major concern in transradial approach (TRA). RAO limits future radial artery use for further TRA, for as a conduit during CABG, for invasive hemodynamic monitoring and for creation of arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients through same vascular approach. The effect of duration of hemostatic compression of RAO is unknown in Bangladesh. This prospective observational study was conducted in the department of Cardiology, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Dhaka, Bangladesh (NICVD) from September 2018 to August 2019, to evaluate the effect of duration of hemostatic compression on the incidence of radial artery occlusion (RAO) after transradial percutaneous coronary intervention. A total of 140 patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) through TRA. RAO was defined as an absence of antegrade flow or monophasic flow or invert flow on Duplex study. In this study 70 patients (Group I) received 2 hours hemostatic compression after transradial PCI. Another 70 patients (Group II) received 6 hours hemostatic compression after transradial PCI. Radial arterial blood flow assessed at early (24 hours) and late (30 days) by color duplex study after the procedure in both groups. Early radial artery occlusion occurred in 4.3% of patients in Group I and 12.8% of patients in Group II, (p=0.04). Late radial artery occlusion occurred in 2.8% of patients in Group I and 11.4% of patients in Group II, the difference was statistically significant (p=0.04). From multivariate logistic regression analysis duration of hemostatic compression time 6 hours (p=0.01), post-procedural nitroglycerine use (p=0.03) and procedure time (p=0.03) were predictors of RAO. Shorter duration of hemostatic compression is associated with a lower incidence of early and late radial artery occlusion after transradial intervention.

Abstract
In the existing leanings of environmental and national security issues, establishment of appropriate sensors for explosive as well as pollutant nitroaromatic compounds may be considered as one of the most prodigious job for material researchers. In the current study a new Cd(II) based 1D ladder coordination polymer (CP), [Cd(4-bpd)(3-cbn)2]n, has been synthesized and well characterized through single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Interestingly, the supramolecular assembly of this compound has efficiently identified 2,4,6-trinitrophenol through fluorescence quenching method. The Stern-Volmer coefficient (Ksv) has been calculated as 6.047 × 103 M-1, which can be attributed to the quenching of the emission intensity. The limit of detection (LOD) has been determined as 0.260 μM following the 3σ method along with almost 95% fluorescence intensity reduction. FESEM study revealed that the crystalline nature of the compound has been altered upon interaction with the above mentioned nitroaromatic analyte. Theoretical studies were performed to get the insight idea of fluorescence quenching mechanism which also substantiated the experimental observation. The present study can pave the way for the fabrication of future generation technology in sensor field.

Abstract
The coordination polymer, (Zn(II)-CP, 1), {[Zn(2,6-NDC)(4-Cltpy)](H2O)4} (1) (2,6-H2NDC = 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid and 4-Cltpy = 4'-chloro-[2,2';6',2″]terpyridine) is structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction measurement and other physicochemical studies (PXRD, FTIR, thermal analysis, microanalytical data). 4-Cltpy acts as end-capping ligand, and NDC2- is a carboxylato bridging motif to constitute ZnN3O2 distorted trigonal bipyramid core that propagates to construct 1D chain. The coordination polymer, 1, detects total iron (Fe3+ and Fe2+) in aqueous solution by visual color change, colorless to pink. Absorption spectrophotometric technique in aqueous medium measures the limit of detection (LOD) 0.11 μM (Fe2+) and 0.15 μM (Fe3+), and binding constants (Kd) are 6.7 × 104 M-1 (Fe3+) and 3.33 × 104 M-1 (Fe2+). Biocompatibility of 1 is examined in live cells, and intracellular Fe2+ and Fe3+ are detected in MDA-MB 231 cells. Zn(II) substitution is assumed upon addition of FeIII/FeII solution to the suspension of the coordination polymer, 1, in water-acetonitrile (41:1) (LZnII + FeIII/II → LFeIII + ZnII, where L is defined as coordinated ligands), which is accompanied by changing from colorless to pink at room temperature. The color of the mixture may be assumed to the charge transfer transition from carboxylate-O to Cltpy via Fe(II/III) bridging center (carboxylate-O-Fe-CltPy). The product isolated from the reaction is finally characterized as Fe(III)@1-CP. It is presumed that product Fe(II)@1-CP may undergo fast aerial oxidation to transform Fe(III)@1-CP. The FeIII exchanged framework (Fe(III)@1-CP) has been characterized by PXRD, IR, TGA and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX)-SEM. The MTT assay calculates the cell viability (%), and the tolerance limit is 100 μM to total Fe2+ and Fe3+.

Abstract
Four new Cu(II)-based hexagonal complexes with the metallomacrocycle formulae [Cu6(5-nip)6(3-py)6(H2O)12] (1), [Cu6(5-nip)6(3-Clpy)6(H2O)12] (2), [Cu6(5-nip)6(3-Brpy)6(H2O)12] (3), and [Cu6(5-nip)6(3-Ipy)6(H2O)12] (4) have been synthesized using 5-nitroisophthalic acid (H25-nip) and pyridine (py)/3-halopyridine (3-Xpy; X = Cl, Br, and I) ligands. The structural features and supramolecular interactions of compounds 1-4 have been investigated using the single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) technique. Interestingly, the hexagonal complexes undergo hydrogen bonding and π···π stacking interactions to form fascinating two-dimensional (2D) honeycomb-like structures. The synthesized complexes exhibit high electrical conductivity, arising from charge transport through space via π···π contacts. However, complexes containing 3-Brpy (3) and 3-Ipy (4) exhibit photosensitivity due to the presence of halogens with a larger size and lower ionization energy. The conductivity results are also in accordance with the theoretical prediction calculated by density functional theory (DFT) study.

Abstract
In the age of sustainable development, the exploration of multifunctional materials is of high priority due to their economic benefits and environmental suitability. A stable luminescent coordination polymer, [Zn2(tdc)4(pdiq)3] (1), (pdiq = pyridyl-imidazoquinazoline; H2tdc = 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid) has been prepared and structurally confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The 3D framework consists of a distorted octahedral geometry with a ZnO4N2 coordination sphere where four carboxylato-O donations come from two tdc2- as bridging ligands and two pyridyl-Ns come from two pdiq. The π⋯π interactions between the imidazolium and phenyl groups bestow robustness on the architecture. The compound is chemically stable to water, shows tolerance to acid/base aqueous solutions (pH = 2-12), and is stable to the impact of organic solvents. The high dispersibility of Zn-MOF (1) in acetonitrile may enhance the fluorescence intensity compared to that in water, which prompted fluorescence measurements in the former solvent and it is used for the efficient and selective turn-off ratiometric sensing of Al3+ ions (LOD, 1.39 × 10-7 M). In addition, the fluorescence emission of 1 is instantly quenched by trinitrophenol (TNP) and the LOD is 1.54 × 10-7 M. The Tauc's plot is used to measure the semiconducting band gap (3.33 eV) and the electrical conductivity is significantly increased upon illumination (Λ: 1.14 × 10-3 S m-1 (dark), 5.35 × 10-3 S m-1 (light)) and the energy barrier declines marginally (FB: 0.57 (dark), 0.49 (light)). Transit time (τ) and diffusion length (LD) at the quasi-Fermi level were analyzed to offer information on the charge transport mechanism of the compound. The better performance on photo-irradiation signifies the enhanced charge transfer kinetics of a Zn-MOF coated thin-film device (TFD 1), which encourages its application in semiconductor devices.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WWW production and a measurement of its cross section using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with two same-sign leptons (electrons or muons) and at least two jets, as well as events with three charged leptons, are selected. A multivariate technique is then used to discriminate between signal and background events. Events from WWW production are observed with a significance of 8.0 standard deviations, where the expectation is 5.4 standard deviations. The inclusive WWW production cross section is measured to be 820±100 (stat)±80 (syst) fb, approximately 2.6 standard deviations from the predicted cross section of 511±18 fb calculated at next-to-leading-order QCD and leading-order electroweak accuracy.

Abstract
DUNE is a dual-site experiment for long-baseline neutrino oscillation studies, neutrino astrophysics and nucleon decay searches. ProtoDUNE Dual Phase (DP) is a 6 × 6 × 6 m 3 liquid argon time-projection-chamber (LArTPC) that recorded cosmic-muon data at the CERN Neutrino Platform in 2019-2020 as a prototype of the DUNE Far Detector. Charged particles propagating through the LArTPC produce ionization and scintillation light. The scintillation light signal in these detectors can provide the trigger for non-beam events. In addition, it adds precise timing capabilities and improves the calorimetry measurements. In ProtoDUNE-DP, scintillation and electroluminescence light produced by cosmic muons in the LArTPC is collected by photomultiplier tubes placed up to 7 m away from the ionizing track. In this paper, the ProtoDUNE-DP photon detection system performance is evaluated with a particular focus on the different wavelength shifters, such as PEN and TPB, and the use of Xe-doped LAr, considering its future use in giant LArTPCs. The scintillation light production and propagation processes are analyzed and a comparison of simulation to data is performed, improving understanding of the liquid argon properties.

Abstract
A new versatile azide-bridged polymeric Cu(II) complex, namely, [Cu(L)(μ1,3-N3)]∞ (1), was synthesized utilizing an N,N,O-donor piperidine-based Schiff base ligand (E)-4-bromo-2-((2-(-1-yl)imino)methyl)phenol (HL), obtained via the condensation reaction of 1-(2-aminoethyl) piperidine and 5-bromo salicylaldehyde. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 consists of an end-to-end azido-bridged polymeric network, which is further rationalized with the help of a density functional theory (DFT) study. After routine characterization with a range of physicochemical studies, complex 1 is exploited to evaluate its biomedical potential. Initially, theoretical inspection with the help of a molecular docking study indicated the ability of complex 1 to effectively bind with macromolecules such as DNA and the human serum albumin (HSA) protein. The theoretical aspect was further verified by adopting several spectroscopic techniques. The electronic absorption spectroscopic analysis indicates a remarkable binding efficiency of Complex 1 with both DNA and HSA. The notable fluorescence intensity reduction of the ethidium bromide (EtBr)-DNA adduct, 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI)-DNA adduct, and HSA after the gradual addition of complex 1 authenticates its promising binding potential with the macromolecules. The retention of the canonical B form of DNA and α form of HSA during the association of complex 1 was confirmed by implementing a circular dichroism spectral study. The association ability of complex 1 with macromolecules further inspired us to inspect its impact on different cell lines such as HeLa (cervical cancer cell), PA1 (ovarian cancer cell), and HEK (normal cell). The dose-dependent and time-dependent in vitro 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay suggests an effective antiproliferative property of complex 1 with low toxicity toward the normal cell line. Finally, the anticancer activity of complex 1 toward carcinoma cell lines was analyzed by nuclear and cellular staining techniques, unveiling the cell death mechanism.

First Leptophobic Dark Matter Search from the Coherent-CAPTAIN-Mills Liquid Argon Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 129:021801. Abstract
We report the first results of a search for leptophobic dark matter (DM) from the Coherent-CAPTAIN-Mills (CCM) liquid argon (LAr) detector. An engineering run with 120 photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) and 17.9×10^{20} protons on target (POT) was performed in fall 2019 to study the characteristics of the CCM detector. The operation of this 10-ton detector was strictly light based with a threshold of 50 keV and used coherent elastic scattering off argon nuclei to detect DM. Despite only 1.5 months of accumulated luminosity, contaminated LAr, and nonoptimized shielding, CCM's first engineering run has already achieved sensitivity to previously unexplored parameter space of light dark matter models with a baryonic vector portal. With an expected background of 115 005 events, we observe 115 005+16.5 events which is compatible with background expectations. For a benchmark mediator-to-DM mass ratio of m_{V_{B}}/m_{χ}=2.1, DM masses within the range 9 MeV≲m_{χ}≲50 MeV are excluded at 90% C. L. in the leptophobic model after applying the Feldman-Cousins test statistic. CCM's upgraded run with 200 PMTs, filtered LAr, improved shielding, and 10 times more POT will be able to exclude the remaining thermal relic density parameter space of this model, as well as probe new parameter space of other leptophobic DM models.

Abstract
Coronary catheterization is usually performed using the transfemoral approach but trans-radial has been increasingly used as an alternative to transfemoral approach due to less vascular complications, earlier ambulation time and improved patient comfort. The aim of the study was to compare the safety and feasibility of trans-radial and transfemoral PCI in the elderly ACS patients. This prospective observational study was conducted in the NICVD, Dhaka from October 2017 to September 2018. Total 80 patients were categorized into two groups according to the approach of PCI. Group I consists 40 patients who underwent trans-radial PCI and Group II consists 40 patients who underwent transfemoral PCI. Patients with abnormal Allen's test, history of CABG, CKD were excluded. Patient's demographics were same in both groups. The mean procedural time in min (37.44±5.13 vs. 34.42±4.42, p=0.004) and fluoroscopy time in min (21.6±4.11 vs. 17.55±2.78, p=0.02) were more in Group I but the mean hemostasis time in min (7.58±1.11 vs. 15.59±3.33, p=0.005) and the ambulation time in hour (0.00±0.00 vs. 15.59±3.33, p=0.001) were more in Group II. Significant arterial spasm following puncture (10.0% vs. 0.0%, p=0.01) were more in Group I. Post procedural major bleeding (0.0% vs. 10.0%, p=0.004), minor bleeding (10.0% vs. 20.0%, p=0.004) were significant in Group II but vessel occlusion (5.0% vs. 0.0%, p=0.02) were significant in Group I. Transradial PCI is safe in respect of procedural and post procedural vascular complications. Transradial procedure leads to improved quality of life after the procedure and thus gives much comfort to the patient. It also shortened mean duration of hospital stay. So transradial approach is an attractive alternative to conventional transfemoral approach in the elderly.

Abstract
Reaction of Zn(NO3 )2 ⋅ 6H2 O, maleic acid (H2 mal) and trans-4-(1-naphthylvinyl)pyridine (trans-nvp) in the dark results in the formation of a one-dimensional coordination polymer (1D CP) [Zn(mal)(trans-nvp)] (1), which is photosalient in nature. The crystals of 1 pop violently under UV light and moderately in sunlight, and generate cyclobutane ligands. However, the same reaction mixture kept in visible light exhibits the rare example of in situ isomerization of both ligands: cis-trans transformation of maleate and trans-cis isomerization of the nvp ligands, and subsequent formation of another 1D CP [Zn(fum)(cis-nvp)2 (H2 O)2 ] (2, H2 fum=fumaric acid), which is found to be photoinert. Thus, altering the reaction condition from dark to visible light gives rise to photosalient to photoinert crystals.

Abstract
With the recent progress of biological and environmental research, detection of pH values has become one of the most indispensable requirements. To determine the pH values of a certain medium, organic Schiff base compounds and their derivatives have been observed to play pivotal roles because of their smooth synthetic roots, easily tuneable structural architecture, non-destructive signals of emission, visually differentiable colour generation and capability of real sample analysis. Therefore with the revolutionary upgradation of wavelength radiometric techniques, the construction of molecular structures which can exhibit dual emission and absorption characteristics and which can be regulated by the change in pH values, has been a stimulating challenge. Generally a pH sensor molecule has a chromophoric or fluorophoric portion. Normally heteroatoms attached to these chromophore units either get protonated or deprotonated in acidic or basic media which gives rise to changes in absorption and emission properties of the molecule.

Abstract
A search for lepton-flavor-violating Z→eτ and Z→μτ decays with pp collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. This analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of Run 2 pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and is combined with the results of a similar ATLAS search in the final state in which the τ lepton decays hadronically, using the same data set as well as Run 1 data. The addition of leptonically decaying τ leptons significantly improves the sensitivity reach for Z→ℓτ decays. The Z→ℓτ branching fractions are constrained in this analysis to B(Z→eτ)<7.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<7.2×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level. The combination with the previously published analyses sets the strongest constraints to date: B(Z→eτ)<5.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<6.5×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level.

Search for New Phenomena in Final States with Two Leptons and One or No b-Tagged Jets at sqrt[s]=13 TeV Using the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 127:141801. Abstract
A search for new phenomena is presented in final states with two leptons and one or no b-tagged jets. The event selection requires the two leptons to have opposite charge, the same flavor (electrons or muons), and a large invariant mass. The analysis is based on the full run-2 proton-proton collision dataset recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1}. No significant deviation from the expected background is observed in the data. Inspired by the B-meson decay anomalies, a four-fermion contact interaction between two quarks (b, s) and two leptons (ee or μμ) is used as a benchmark signal model, which is characterized by the energy scale and coupling, Λ and g_{*}, respectively. Contact interactions with Λ/g_{*} lower than 2.0 (2.4) TeV are excluded for electrons (muons) at the 95% confidence level, still far below the value that is favored by the B-meson decay anomalies. Model-independent limits are set as a function of the minimum dilepton invariant mass, which allow the results to be reinterpreted in various signal scenarios.

Abstract
A search for charged leptons with large impact parameters using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision data from the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented, addressing a long-standing gap in coverage of possible new physics signatures. Results are consistent with the background prediction. This search provides unique sensitivity to long-lived scalar supersymmetric lepton partners (sleptons). For lifetimes of 0.1 ns, selectron, smuon, and stau masses up to 720, 680, and 340 GeV, respectively, are excluded at 95% confidence level, drastically improving on the previous best limits from LEP.

Green tea leaves extract with low concentration of EGCG can provide health benefits without causing renal damage. ACTA ALIMENTARIA 2021. Abstract
AbstractGreen tea or its concentrated extract is coveted for its health promoting catechin-like polyphenols, especially epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). However, its amicable efficacy is now being doubted considering the recent occurrence of several cases of hepato- and nephrotoxicity, after the ingestion of EGCG-fortified (≥85–90%) nutritional supplements. Therefore, the current study was carried out to ascertain the effect of green tea leaves extract (GTE), having low EGCG content (73.8%), on liver and kidney functions of male Wistar rats using various in vivo experiments and in vitro radical scavenging activity. In terms of acute toxicity, GTE was observed to be safe when delivered at a dosage of 2000 mg kg−1 body weight (BW). Oral delivery of GTE for 28 days at a concentration of 200 mg kg−1 BW/day did not trigger sub-acute toxicity to the liver and kidneys, as per serum biochemical analyses and histopathological examination. In contrast, GTE counteracted the effects of carbon tetrachloride (a potent hepato-degenerative compound) on the liver. Furthermore, increase in high-density lipoprotein―cholesterol with concomitant lowering of serum triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein―cholesterol were noticed in GTE-treated rats. These findings suggest that low EGCG containing GTE, with appreciable antioxidant activity (IC50 = 53.18–71.28 μg mL−1), can serve as a hepatoprotective, hypolipidemic, and hypocholesterolemic ingredient.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Since its first identification in December 2019, in WUHAN (CHINA), SARS-COV-2, causative agent of Corona virus pandemic, has affected millions of people worldwide, causing thousands of death. There is much speculation about the interplay between ACEI/ARB and Corona virus infection, as for internalization into host cell SARS-COV-2 binds through S spike protein to ACE-2, aided TMPRSS2. METHODS A record based observational study has been conducted (data obtained from the clinics of fourteen physicians) in two worst affected districts of West Bengal, to find out the association of ACEI/ARB on patients, suffering from Corona virus infection. The study-protocol has already been approved by Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine. (IEC Ref. No: CREC-STM/2020-AS-37) Results: Increasing age, male sex and presence of co-morbidities (viz. Diabetes, COPD) are significantly associated with the occurrence of moderate and severe disease. Drugs (viz. ACEI/ARB), though are associated with less severe disease, have not achieved statistical significance, in the present study. CONCLUSION Drugs, like ACEI/ARB, should be continued in patients suffering from COVID-19 infection, (if they are already on these drugs).

Two-Dimensional MOF Modulated Fiber Nanogenerator for Effective Acoustoelectric Conversion and Human Motion Detection. LANGMUIR : THE ACS JOURNAL OF SURFACES AND COLLOIDS 2021; 37:7107-7117. Abstract
The real-time application of piezoelectric nanogenerators (PNGs) under a harsh environment remains a challenge due to lower output performance and poor durability. Thus, the development of flexible, sensitive, and stable PNGs became a topic of interest to capture different human motions including gesture monitoring to speech recognition. Herein, a scalable approach is adapted where naphthylamine bridging a [Cd(II)-μ-I4] two-dimensional (2D) metal-organic framework (MOF)-reinforced poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) composite nanofibers mat is prepared to fabricate a flexible and sensitive composite piezoelectric nanogenerator (C-PNG). The needle-shaped MOF was successfully synthesized by the layering and diffusion of two different solutions. The incorporation of single-crystalline 2D MOF ensures a large content of electroactive phases (98%) with a resultant high-magnitude piezoelectric coefficient of 41 pC/N in a composite nanofibers mat due to the interfacial specific interaction with -CH2-/-CF2- dipoles of PVDF. As an outcome, C-PNG generates high electrical output (open-circuit voltage of 22 V and maximum power density of 24 μW/cm2) with a very fast response time (tr ≈ 5 ms) under periodic pressure imparting stimuli. Benefiting from bending and twisting functionality, C-PNG is capable of scavenging biomechanical energy by mimicking complex musculoskeletal motions that broaden its application in wearable electronics and fabric integrated medical devices. In addition, C-PNG also demonstrates an efficient acoustic vibration to electric energy conversion capability with an improved power density and acoustic sensitivity of 6.25 μW and 0.95 V/Pa, respectively. The overall energy conversion efficiency is sufficient to operate several consumer electronics without any energy storage unit. This acoustic observation is further validated by the finite element method-based theoretical simulation. Overall, the 2D MOF-based device design strategy opens up a new possibility to develop a human-motion compatible energy generator and a self-powered acoustic sensor to power up electronic gadgets as well as low-frequency noise detection.

Antibiofilm and anti-quorum sensing activities of eugenol and linalool from Ocimum tenuiflorum against Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm. J Appl Microbiol 2021; 131:2821-2837. [PMID: 34077580 DOI: 10.1111/jam.15171] [Citation(s) in RCA: 25] [Impact Index Per Article: 8.3] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 12/28/2020] [Revised: 05/11/2021] [Accepted: 05/28/2021] [Indexed: 12/16/2022]
Abstract
AIMS The aim of this study is to determine the ability of two bioactive compounds, namely, eugenol and linalool, purified from leaves of Ocimum tenuiflorum for eradication of biofilm produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. METHODS AND RESULTS The phytoextract of O. tenuiflorum (KT), a common ethno-botanical plant of India, was purified through high-performance liquid chromatography and was analysed using ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Eugenol and linalool were found to be the most active amongst all phytocompounds present in phytoextract and showed a significant reduction in the viability of sessile cells of P. aeruginosa and the minimum revival after withdrawal of phyto-challenge. They could bring about notable reduction in the protein and carbohydrate content of exopolysaccharide of biofilm. Eugenol and linalool could affect the synthesis of quorum sensing (QS) proteins like LasA and LasB as well as virulence factors such as pyocyanin, and rhamnolipids, which seriously hamper the formation of biofilm. The biofilm framework was extremely affected by the phytocompounds through the reduction of protein and carbohydrate content of extracellular polymeric substance (EPS). Another interesting found out was that they brought about maximum inhibition to the genomic DNA and RNA content. The studies were supported by in silico interaction between eugenol and linalool with the QS proteins. The antibiofilm efficacies of eugenol, linalool and phytoextract (KT) were further confirmed by microscopic studies with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy and fluorescence confocal microscopy microscopic studies. CONCLUSIONS The phytocompounds are proved to be more effective than conventional antibiotics in inhibiting the biofilm forming sessile cells and can be used as a replacement for antibiotic. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY Pure eugenol extracted from common basil leaves can be used as a safe substitute for common antibiotic for treatment of chronic infections caused by P. aeruginosa. It will be cost effective, devoid of notable side effects and will not generate antibiotic resistance in host body.

Abstract
The first measurement of longitudinal decorrelations of harmonic flow amplitudes v_{n} for n=2-4 in Xe+Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.44 TeV is obtained using 3 μb^{-1} of data with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The decorrelation signal for v_{3} and v_{4} is found to be nearly independent of collision centrality and transverse momentum (p_{T}) requirements on final-state particles, but for v_{2} a strong centrality and p_{T} dependence is seen. When compared with the results from Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV, the longitudinal decorrelation signal in midcentral Xe+Xe collisions is found to be larger for v_{2}, but smaller for v_{3}. Current hydrodynamic models reproduce the ratios of the v_{n} measured in Xe+Xe collisions to those in Pb+Pb collisions but fail to describe the magnitudes and trends of the ratios of longitudinal flow decorrelations between Xe+Xe and Pb+Pb. The results on the system-size dependence provide new insights and an important lever arm to separate effects of the longitudinal structure of the initial state from other early and late time effects in heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract
Several extensions of the Standard Model predict the production of dark matter particles at the LHC. An uncharted signature of dark matter particles produced in association with VV=W^{±}W^{∓} or ZZ pairs from a decay of a dark Higgs boson s is searched for using 139 fb^{-1} of pp collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The s→V(qq[over ¯])V(qq[over ¯]) decays are reconstructed with a novel technique aimed at resolving the dense topology from boosted VV pairs using jets in the calorimeter and tracking information. Dark Higgs scenarios with m_{s}>160 GeV are excluded.

Medium-Induced Modification of Z-Tagged Charged Particle Yields in Pb+Pb Collisions at 5.02 TeV with the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 126:072301. Abstract
The yield of charged particles opposite to a Z boson with large transverse momentum (p_{T}) is measured in 260 pb^{-1} of pp and 1.7 nb^{-1} of Pb+Pb collision data at 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The Z boson tag is used to select hard-scattered partons with specific kinematics, and to observe how their showers are modified as they propagate through the quark-gluon plasma created in Pb+Pb collisions. Compared with pp collisions, charged-particle yields in Pb+Pb collisions show significant modifications as a function of charged-particle p_{T} in a way that depends on event centrality and Z boson p_{T}. The data are compared with a variety of theoretical calculations and provide new information about the medium-induced energy loss of partons in a p_{T} regime difficult to measure through other channels.
