Abstract
OBJECTIVE Extramedullary relapse (EMR) is rare in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and, there is a lack of information on its management. Current practices for EMR in APL are always to adopt strategies from other subtypes of Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and Acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Gilteritinib, a highly selective FLT3 inhibitor, has demonstrated a remarkable effect on EMR in FLT3-mutant AML. Therefore, it is worthwhile exploring if FLT3 mutation can be a therapeutic target and assessing the efficacy of Gilteritinib on FLT3-mutant EMR in APL. METHODS We described three cases of FLT3-mutant EMR in APL, comprising two isolated EMR cases and one systemic relapse. The patients underwent treatment with Gilteritinib-based regimens based on FLT3 mutation. RESULTS All three patients achieved complete regression of EMR, and no signs of tumor lysis syndrome during Gilteritinib-based therapy, only patient 1 showed mild granulocytopenia. They all maintained molecular complete remission (mCR) during the follow-up period. CONCLUSIONS The Gilteritinib-based regimen shows a high and sustained therapeutic effect with minimal adverse effects, and provides a valuable experience for further evaluation in EMR APL patients.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of single top quarks produced together with a photon, which directly probes the electroweak coupling of the top quark. The analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of 13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Requiring a photon with transverse momentum larger than 20 GeV and within the detector acceptance, the fiducial cross section is measured to be 688±23(stat) _{-71}^{+75}(syst) fb, to be compared with the standard model prediction of 515_{-42}^{+36} fb at next-to-leading order in QCD.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of τ-lepton-pair production in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions Pb+Pb→Pb(γγ→ττ)Pb and constraints on the τ-lepton anomalous magnetic moment a_{τ}. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.44 nb^{-1} of LHC Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment in 2018. Selected events contain one muon from a τ-lepton decay, an electron or charged-particle track(s) from the other τ-lepton decay, little additional central-detector activity, and no forward neutrons. The γγ→ττ process is observed in Pb+Pb collisions with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations and a signal strength of μ_{ττ}=1.03_{-0.05}^{+0.06} assuming the standard model value for a_{τ}. To measure a_{τ}, a template fit to the muon transverse-momentum distribution from τ-lepton candidates is performed, using a dimuon (γγ→μμ) control sample to constrain systematic uncertainties. The observed 95% confidence-level interval for a_{τ} is -0.057

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nonsecretory multiple myeloma (NSMM) is a rare type of multiple myeloma (MM). Few studies have described the clinical features and outcomes of NSMM in novel agents. Additionally, the prognostic characteristics have remained controversial in recent years. PURPOSE To investigate the clinical and prognostic features of NSMM and explore the prognostic value of involved free light chain (FLC) levels in NSMM patients in the Chinese population. METHODS We retrospectively enrolled 176 newly diagnosed NSMM cases between January 2005 and December 2021 from 19 clinical centers in China. The control group was selected using a 1:4 propensity score matching technique of newly diagnosed secretory MM, with age, sex and diagnosis time as the matching variables. RESULTS The median age of NSMM patients was 60 years, and 22.6% of patients were classified as ISS stage 3. The ORR of the NSMM patients was 87.4%, and the CR was 65.8%. Compared to the matched secretory MM patients, more NSMM patients achieved CR after first-line treatment (65.8% vs. 36%, p = 0.000). The ORR of first-line treatment was not significantly different between NSMM and secretory MM (89.45% vs. 84.7%, p = 0.196). The first-line PFS was 27.5 m and 23 m (p = 0.063), and the median OS was 81 m and 70 months (p = 0.401). However, for CR-achieved NSMM and CR-not-achieved NSMM patients, the median PFS was 37 m vs. 16 m (p = 0.021), while the median OS showed no difference (107 m vs. 87 m, p = 0.290). In multivariate analysis, the significant factors for PFS were age ≥ 65 and ISS-3. ISS-3 was the only independent prognostic factor of OS. The iFLC ≥ 50 mg/L group had a high ORR of 97.3%, and the median PFS and OS were 48 m and NR, respectively. Compared to the matched secretory MM, the iFLC ≥ 50 mg/L group also showed more CR and longer OS (NR vs. 70 m, p = 0.006) and PFS (48 m vs. 23 m, p = 0.003). CONCLUSIONS Our results revealed that Chinese NSMM patients are younger and have a higher CR but not superior survival. The subgroup of NSMM patients with iFLC ≥ 50 mg/L had better outcomes than secretory MM.

Strong Constraints on Jet Quenching in Centrality-Dependent p+Pb Collisions at 5.02 TeV from ATLAS. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 131:072301. Abstract
Jet quenching is the process of color-charged partons losing energy via interactions with quark-gluon plasma droplets created in heavy-ion collisions. The collective expansion of such droplets is well described by viscous hydrodynamics. Similar evidence of collectivity is consistently observed in smaller collision systems, including pp and p+Pb collisions. In contrast, while jet quenching is observed in Pb+Pb collisions, no evidence has been found in these small systems to date, raising fundamental questions about the nature of the system created in these collisions. The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider has measured the yield of charged hadrons correlated with reconstructed jets in 0.36 nb^{-1} of p+Pb and 3.6 pb^{-1} of pp collisions at 5.02 TeV. The yields of charged hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>0.5 GeV near and opposite in azimuth to jets with p_{T}^{jet}>30 or 60 GeV, and the ratios of these yields between p+Pb and pp collisions, I_{pPb}, are reported. The collision centrality of p+Pb events is categorized by the energy deposited by forward neutrons from the struck nucleus. The I_{pPb} values are consistent with unity within a few percent for hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>4 GeV at all centralities. These data provide new, strong constraints that preclude almost any parton energy loss in central p+Pb collisions.

Abstract
A test of CP invariance in Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion has been performed in the H→γγ channel using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The optimal observable method is used to probe the CP structure of interactions between the Higgs boson and electroweak gauge bosons, as described by an effective field theory. No sign of CP violation is observed in the data. Constraints are set on the parameters describing the strength of the CP-odd component in the coupling between the Higgs boson and the electroweak gauge bosons in two effective field theory bases: d[over ˜] in the HISZ basis and c_{HW[over ˜]} in the Warsaw basis. The results presented are the most stringent constraints on CP violation in the coupling between Higgs and weak bosons. The 95% C.L. constraint on d[over ˜] is derived for the first time and the 95% C.L. constraint on c_{HW[over ˜]} has been improved by a factor of 5 compared to the previous measurement.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore and summarize the clinical characteristics and treatment of aggressive NK-cell leukemia (ANKL), and provide new insights for clinical diagnosis and treatment of this disease. METHODS The clinical data of 7 patients with ANKL admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from March 2014 to July 2021 were retrospectively analyzed, and their clinical characteristics, laboratory and imaging results, treatment and outcomes were analyzed. RESULTS Among the 7 patients, 5 were males and 2 were females, with a median age of 47 (33-69) years old. The morphology of bone marrow cells in 7 patients showed similar large granular lymphocytes. Immunophenotyping revealed abnormal NK cells in 5 cases. By the end of follow-up, 6 cases died and 1 case survived, with a median survival time of 76.9 (4-347) days. CONCLUSION ANKL is a rare disease with short course and poor prognosis. If combined with hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS), the prognosis is even worse. There is no unified treatment method at present, and the use of PD-1 inhibitors may prolong the survival in some patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The V617F mutation of Janus-associated kinase 2 (JAK2) is common in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). JAK2 V617F mutation can be detected in patients with de novo acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but de novo acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) with JAK2 V617F mutation is rare. CASE PRESENTATION We report a case of APL with both the t(15;17) translocation as well as the JAK2 V617F mutation that transformed into MPN (PV/ET). CONCLUSIONS A de novo APL patient presented initially with JAK2 V617F. After ATRA and ATO dual induction and chemotherapy consolidation, the patient achieved complete remission (CR) with undetectable PML/RARα. However, the JAK2 V617F remained positive, and the patient developed MPN (PV/ET) 22 months later, which responded well to interferon therapy.AML, acute myeloid leukemia; APL, acute promyelocytic leukemia; ATRA, all-trans retinoic acid; ATO, arsenic trioxide; BM, bone marrow; CR, complete remission; ET, essential thrombocythemia; Hb, hemoglobin; JAK2, Janus-associated kinase 2; MPN, myeloproliferative neoplasms; PLT, platelets; PMF, primary myelofibrosis; PML/RARα; PV, polycythemia vera; WBC, white blood cells.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WWW production and a measurement of its cross section using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with two same-sign leptons (electrons or muons) and at least two jets, as well as events with three charged leptons, are selected. A multivariate technique is then used to discriminate between signal and background events. Events from WWW production are observed with a significance of 8.0 standard deviations, where the expectation is 5.4 standard deviations. The inclusive WWW production cross section is measured to be 820±100 (stat)±80 (syst) fb, approximately 2.6 standard deviations from the predicted cross section of 511±18 fb calculated at next-to-leading-order QCD and leading-order electroweak accuracy.

Abstract
A search for lepton-flavor-violating Z→eτ and Z→μτ decays with pp collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. This analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of Run 2 pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and is combined with the results of a similar ATLAS search in the final state in which the τ lepton decays hadronically, using the same data set as well as Run 1 data. The addition of leptonically decaying τ leptons significantly improves the sensitivity reach for Z→ℓτ decays. The Z→ℓτ branching fractions are constrained in this analysis to B(Z→eτ)<7.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<7.2×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level. The combination with the previously published analyses sets the strongest constraints to date: B(Z→eτ)<5.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<6.5×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the efficacy and safety of Daratumumab for the treatment of primary AL light chain systemic amyloidosis. Methods: Twenty one patients who were diagnosed as primary AL light chain systemic amyloidosis and treated with Daratumumab from 7 centers were retrospectively analyzed. Daratumumab was administrated as first line therapy in seven patients and 14 patients with relapsed settings. Hematological response, safety and survival were analyzed. Results: All 7 patients achieved very good partial response (VGPR) or better with first-line application of daratumumab. Three patients died, and the other four achieved organ remission. Among 14 relapsed patients, 2 patients had a difference of free light chain (dFLC) less than 20 mg/L before treatment, and 9 with a dFLC of more than 50 mg/L. All patients reached partial response (PR) or better, including 4 patients with complete response (CR), 3 with VGPR and 2 with PR. The response rate was 100% in 3 patients with dFLC 20-50 mg/L at baseline. The organ remission rate was 50% in patients with heart involvement and 58.3% in patients with kidney impairment. The overall median follow-up period was 5.3 months, and 11 months in surviving patients. One patient died of severe infection and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) with stable amyloidosis. One patient switched to other regimens because dFLC elevated but did not fulfill progressive disease after 2 year application. As to safety, no grade 3/4 infusion reaction developed, and grade 1 infusion reaction occurred in 3 cases during the first infusion. Lymphocytopenia was seen in 75% patients including grade 3 or more in 30% patients. Conclusion: Daratumumab is effective to eliminate serum free light chain in both newly diagnosed and relapsed patients with systemic amyloidosis.

Search for New Phenomena in Final States with Two Leptons and One or No b-Tagged Jets at sqrt[s]=13 TeV Using the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 127:141801. Abstract
A search for new phenomena is presented in final states with two leptons and one or no b-tagged jets. The event selection requires the two leptons to have opposite charge, the same flavor (electrons or muons), and a large invariant mass. The analysis is based on the full run-2 proton-proton collision dataset recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1}. No significant deviation from the expected background is observed in the data. Inspired by the B-meson decay anomalies, a four-fermion contact interaction between two quarks (b, s) and two leptons (ee or μμ) is used as a benchmark signal model, which is characterized by the energy scale and coupling, Λ and g_{*}, respectively. Contact interactions with Λ/g_{*} lower than 2.0 (2.4) TeV are excluded for electrons (muons) at the 95% confidence level, still far below the value that is favored by the B-meson decay anomalies. Model-independent limits are set as a function of the minimum dilepton invariant mass, which allow the results to be reinterpreted in various signal scenarios.

Durable Cord Blood Cell Engraftment in a Patient with Severe Aplastic Anemia after a Matched Sibling Bone Marrow Transplantation and an Unrelated Cord Blood Transplantation. Abstract
OBJECTIVE Severe aplastic anemia (SAA) is a fatal bone marrow failure disease. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) with a matched sibling donor is the first-line treatment for older SAA patients. However, the number of CD34+ cells collected from a matched donor is often lower than expected. To overcome the problem, this study was conducted to combine a matched sibling donor with an unrelated cord blood transplantation for the treatment of a patient with SAA. CASE REPORT A 45-year-old male patient with SAA was treated with a sibling-matched allo-HSCT. Due to the low amount of donor CD34+ cells, an unrelated umbilical cord blood stem cell transplantation (UCBT) with 9/10 HLA matching was subsequently carried out. Successful hematopoietic reconstitution was achieved by the dual transplantation. Unexpectedly, beginning in the fourth month after transplantation, the sibling donor chimerism was transformed to a stable and complete UCB source. CONCLUSION This study provides evidence that UCB-derived HSCs have a higher capacity for hematopoietic reconstitution, suggesting that UCB plus an HLA-matched sibling donor is a good alternative for older patients with SAA.

Abstract
A search for charged leptons with large impact parameters using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision data from the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented, addressing a long-standing gap in coverage of possible new physics signatures. Results are consistent with the background prediction. This search provides unique sensitivity to long-lived scalar supersymmetric lepton partners (sleptons). For lifetimes of 0.1 ns, selectron, smuon, and stau masses up to 720, 680, and 340 GeV, respectively, are excluded at 95% confidence level, drastically improving on the previous best limits from LEP.

Abstract
Risk factors for adverse pregnancy outcomes among Zhuang ethnic pregnant women are unclear. This study analyzed the incidence and risk factors related to preterm birth (PB), low birth weight (LBW) and macrosomia in Zhuang population. We conducted a prospective cohort study of 9965 Zhuang pregnancy women in Guangxi, China. Information on mothers and newborns was obtained by using questionnaires and referring to medical records. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the association between related factors and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Our results showed that the incidence of PB, LBW and macrosomia in Zhuang people was 5.55%, 5.64% and 2.19%, respectively. Maternal age ≥36 years (OR=2.22, 95% CI: 1.51-3.27) was related to a higher incidence of PB. Those with pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) <18.5 kg/m2 (OR=1.91, 95% CI: 1.45-2.51), and had a female fetus (OR=1.74, 95% CI: 1.36-2.23) were more likely to have LBW infants. Maternal age between 31 and 35 years (OR=1.76, 95% CI: 1.03-2.99) and pre-pregnancy overweight or obesity (OR=1.79, 95% CI: 1.15-2.80) were associated with a higher risk of macrosomia. The protective factors of macrosomia were maternal pre-pregnancy BMI <18.5 kg/m2 (OR=0.30, 95% CI: 0.15-0.60) and female fetus (OR=0.41, 95% CI: 0.28-0.59). Our study provided a reference for maternal and childcare administration among Zhuang population.

Abstract
The first measurement of longitudinal decorrelations of harmonic flow amplitudes v_{n} for n=2-4 in Xe+Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.44 TeV is obtained using 3 μb^{-1} of data with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The decorrelation signal for v_{3} and v_{4} is found to be nearly independent of collision centrality and transverse momentum (p_{T}) requirements on final-state particles, but for v_{2} a strong centrality and p_{T} dependence is seen. When compared with the results from Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV, the longitudinal decorrelation signal in midcentral Xe+Xe collisions is found to be larger for v_{2}, but smaller for v_{3}. Current hydrodynamic models reproduce the ratios of the v_{n} measured in Xe+Xe collisions to those in Pb+Pb collisions but fail to describe the magnitudes and trends of the ratios of longitudinal flow decorrelations between Xe+Xe and Pb+Pb. The results on the system-size dependence provide new insights and an important lever arm to separate effects of the longitudinal structure of the initial state from other early and late time effects in heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract
Several extensions of the Standard Model predict the production of dark matter particles at the LHC. An uncharted signature of dark matter particles produced in association with VV=W^{±}W^{∓} or ZZ pairs from a decay of a dark Higgs boson s is searched for using 139 fb^{-1} of pp collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The s→V(qq[over ¯])V(qq[over ¯]) decays are reconstructed with a novel technique aimed at resolving the dense topology from boosted VV pairs using jets in the calorimeter and tracking information. Dark Higgs scenarios with m_{s}>160 GeV are excluded.

Abstract
The yield of charged particles opposite to a Z boson with large transverse momentum (p_{T}) is measured in 260 pb^{-1} of pp and 1.7 nb^{-1} of Pb+Pb collision data at 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The Z boson tag is used to select hard-scattered partons with specific kinematics, and to observe how their showers are modified as they propagate through the quark-gluon plasma created in Pb+Pb collisions. Compared with pp collisions, charged-particle yields in Pb+Pb collisions show significant modifications as a function of charged-particle p_{T} in a way that depends on event centrality and Z boson p_{T}. The data are compared with a variety of theoretical calculations and provide new information about the medium-induced energy loss of partons in a p_{T} regime difficult to measure through other channels.

Abstract
The observation of forward proton scattering in association with lepton pairs (e^{+}e^{-}+p or μ^{+}μ^{-}+p) produced via photon fusion is presented. The scattered proton is detected by the ATLAS Forward Proton spectrometer, while the leptons are reconstructed by the central ATLAS detector. Proton-proton collision data recorded in 2017 at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV are analyzed, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 14.6 fb^{-1}. A total of 57 (123) candidates in the ee+p (μμ+p) final state are selected, allowing the background-only hypothesis to be rejected with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations in each channel. Proton-tagging techniques are introduced for cross-section measurements in the fiducial detector acceptance, corresponding to σ_{ee+p}=11.0±2.6(stat)±1.2(syst)±0.3(lumi) and σ_{μμ+p}=7.2±1.6(stat)±0.9(syst)±0.2(lumi) fb in the dielectron and dimuon channel, respectively.

Abstract
This Letter presents a search for the production of new heavy resonances decaying into a Higgs boson and a photon using proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1}. The analysis is performed by reconstructing hadronically decaying Higgs boson (H→bb[over ¯]) candidates as single large-radius jets. A novel algorithm using information about the jet constituents in the center-of-mass frame of the jet is implemented to identify the two b quarks in the single jet. No significant excess of events is observed above the expected background. Upper limits are set on the production cross-section times branching fraction for narrow spin-1 resonances decaying into a Higgs boson and a photon in the resonance mass range from 0.7 to 4 TeV, cross-section times branching fractions are excluded between 11.6 fb and 0.11 fb at a 95% confidence level.

Abstract
A search for Higgs boson decays into a Z boson and a light resonance in two-lepton plus jet events is performed, using a pp collision dataset with an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1} collected at sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC. The resonance considered is a light boson with a mass below 4 GeV from a possible extended scalar sector or a charmonium state. Multivariate discriminants are used for the event selection and for evaluating the mass of the light resonance. No excess of events above the expected background is found. Observed (expected) 95% confidence-level upper limits are set on the Higgs boson production cross section times branching fraction to a Z boson and the signal resonance, with values in the range 17-340 pb (16_{-5}^{+6}-320_{-90}^{+130} pb) for the different light spin-0 boson mass and branching fraction hypotheses, and with values of 110 and 100 pb (100_{-30}^{+40} and 100_{-30}^{+40} pb) for the η_{c} and J/ψ hypotheses, respectively.

Dijet Resonance Search with Weak Supervision Using sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp Collisions in the ATLAS Detector. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2020; 125:131801. Abstract
This Letter describes a search for narrowly resonant new physics using a machine-learning anomaly detection procedure that does not rely on signal simulations for developing the analysis selection. Weakly supervised learning is used to train classifiers directly on data to enhance potential signals. The targeted topology is dijet events and the features used for machine learning are the masses of the two jets. The resulting analysis is essentially a three-dimensional search A→BC, for m_{A}∼O(TeV), m_{B},m_{C}∼O(100 GeV) and B, C are reconstructed as large-radius jets, without paying a penalty associated with a large trials factor in the scan of the masses of the two jets. The full run 2 sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision dataset of 139 fb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is used for the search. There is no significant evidence of a localized excess in the dijet invariant mass spectrum between 1.8 and 8.2 TeV. Cross-section limits for narrow-width A, B, and C particles vary with m_{A}, m_{B}, and m_{C}. For example, when m_{A}=3 TeV and m_{B}≳200 GeV, a production cross section between 1 and 5 fb is excluded at 95% confidence level, depending on m_{C}. For certain masses, these limits are up to 10 times more sensitive than those obtained by the inclusive dijet search. These results are complementary to the dedicated searches for the case that B and C are standard model bosons.

Abstract
A study of the charge conjugation and parity (CP) properties of the interaction between the Higgs boson and top quarks is presented. Higgs bosons are identified via the diphoton decay channel (H→γγ), and their production in association with a top quark pair (tt[over ¯]H) or single top quark (tH) is studied. The analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Assuming a CP-even coupling, the tt[over ¯]H process is observed with a significance of 5.2 standard deviations. The measured cross section times H→γγ branching ratio is 1.64_{-0.36}^{+0.38}(stat)_{-0.14}^{+0.17}(sys) fb, and the measured rate for tt[over ¯]H is 1.43_{-0.31}^{+0.33}(stat)_{-0.15}^{+0.21}(sys) times the Standard Model expectation. The tH production process is not observed and an upper limit on its rate of 12 times the Standard Model expectation is set. A CP-mixing angle greater (less) than 43 (-43)° is excluded at 95% confidence level.

Abstract
A search for heavy neutral Higgs bosons is performed using the LHC Run 2 data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. The search for heavy resonances is performed over the mass range 0.2-2.5 TeV for the τ^{+}τ^{-} decay with at least one τ-lepton decaying into final states with hadrons. The data are in good agreement with the background prediction of the standard model. In the M_{h}^{125} scenario of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, values of tanβ>8 and tanβ>21 are excluded at the 95% confidence level for neutral Higgs boson masses of 1.0 and 1.5 TeV, respectively, where tanβ is the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets.

Overexpression of heme oxygenase-1 in bone marrow stromal cells promotes multiple myeloma resistance through the JAK2/STAT3 pathway. Life Sci 2020; 257:118088. Abstract
AIMS Bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) have been reported to interact with multiple myeloma (MM) and exert a vital function of the survival of MM cells. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), a cytoprotective enzyme, has the potential to become a hematological malignancies targeted gene. This study aimed to investigate the role of HO-1 in MM resistance of BMSCs and its possible mechanisms. MAIN METHODS In this study, the expression of related proteins was detected by RT-qPCR and Western blot. HO-1 expression was regulated by lentivirus transfection. Cell viability and apoptosis were detected by Flow cytometry and CCK-8. Cytokine secretion was assayed by ELISA. The survival and carcinogenic abilities was detected by clone formation assay. KEY FINDINGS HO-1 expression in the BMSCs of stage III MM patients was substantially increased, compared with that of healthy donors and stage I/II patients. The results of co-culture of BMSCs and MM cells indicated that, the upregulated HO-1 inhibited the apoptosis of co-cultured MM cells, while downregulated HO-1 promoted the chemosensitivity of co-cultured MM cells, moreover, the upregulated HO-1 in BMSCs increased the colony-formation ability of MM cells. This protective capability may be regulated by CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling. High HO-1 expression in BMSCs can promote the phosphorylation of the JAK2/STAT3 pathway, thereby increasing secretion of SDF-1 in BMSCs and activating CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling. In addition, direct contact between BMSCs and MM cells may cause drug resistance. SIGNIFICANCE These results indicated that the regulation of HO-1 in BMSCs may be a new effective method of MM therapy.

Abstract
The prevalence of hadronic jets at the LHC requires that a deep understanding of jet formation and structure is achieved in order to reach the highest levels of experimental and theoretical precision. There have been many measurements of jet substructure at the LHC and previous colliders, but the targeted observables mix physical effects from various origins. Based on a recent proposal to factorize physical effects, this Letter presents a double-differential cross-section measurement of the Lund jet plane using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector using jets with transverse momentum above 675 GeV. The measurement uses charged particles to achieve a fine angular resolution and is corrected for acceptance and detector effects. Several parton shower Monte Carlo models are compared with the data. No single model is found to be in agreement with the measured data across the entire plane.

Abstract
Abstract Objective To discuss the application value of CT scanning technology in cause of death determination of medical dispute cases. Methods From July 2017 to December 2018, postmortem CT imaging data of 12 medical dispute cases were collected. CT imaging diagnosis results and anatomy findings as well as differences between antemortem and postmortem CT diagnosis were compared. The advantages and disadvantages of CT routine tests of the cadavers in terms of the diagnosis of disease and damage were analyzed. Results The comparison between CT imaging diagnosis and anatomical findings showed that CT scans had advantages in the diagnosis of disease and damage with large differences in density changes, such as atelectasis, pneumonia, calcification, fracture and hemorrhage, etc. The comparison of CT diagnosis in antemortem and postmortem examination showed that the cadavers of medical dispute cases were well preserved and that postmortem CT scan was meaningful for the diagnosis of antemortem diseases. Conclusion Virtual anatomy technology has a relatively high application value in postmortem examination of medical dispute cases. It can provide effective information for the appraisers before the autopsy and can also provide a reference for cause of death analysis when the anatomy cannot be performed.

Abstract
The elliptic flow of muons from the decay of charm and bottom hadrons is measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 150 pb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The muons from heavy-flavor decay are separated from light-hadron decay muons using momentum imbalance between the tracking and muon spectrometers. The heavy-flavor decay muons are further separated into those from charm decay and those from bottom decay using the distance-of-closest-approach to the collision vertex. The measurement is performed for muons in the transverse momentum range 4-7 GeV and pseudorapidity range |η|<2.4. A significant nonzero elliptic anisotropy coefficient v_{2} is observed for muons from charm decays, while the v_{2} value for muons from bottom decays is consistent with zero within uncertainties.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the value of dual-energy CT-based volumetric iodine-uptake (VIU) in the evaluation of chemotherapy efficacy in advanced gastric cancer. Methods: Inclusion criteria of subjects: (1) without previous systematic therapy; (2) with complete clinical information before and after chemotherapy; (3) without contraindications of chemotherapy. Exclusion criteria of subjects: (1) unfinished duration and times of chemotherapy; (2) unmeasurable primary lesions; (3) poor imaging quality or poor gastric filling. Clinical and image data of 52 patients with advanced gastric cancer who were diagnosed by pathology from gastroscopic biopsy, and needed chemotherapy evaluated by imaging and clinical information in the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from February 2017 to February 2018 were collected and analyzed. Of 52 patients, 38 were male and 14 were female with the median age of 65 (31-88) years old. All the patients underwent a dual-energy, dual phase-enhanced CT scanning before chemotherapy and after the third chemotherapy session. The parameters of the lesions measured before and after chemotherapy in portal vein phase were as follows: the maximum diameter (the largest diameter among those measured in the cross-sectional, coronal, and sagittal planes), average CT value (the regions of interest were manually pinpointed under cross-sectional planes with largest diameter of the tumor, which did not include regions less than 2 mm to the edge of the tumor) and VIU (lesion volume × iodine concentration). The change rates of maximum lesion diameter, average CT value and VIU before and after chemotherapy were calculated [(post-chemotherapy parameters-pre-chemotherapy parameters)/ pre-chemotherapy parameters]. The efficacy of chemotherapy was evaluated by RECIST 1.1 (the change of maximum tumor diameter after chemotherapy), Choi (the change of average CT value after chemotherapy) and VIU (the change of VIU after chemotherapy), respectively, which was categorized by complete response (CR), partial response (PR), stable disease (SD) and progressive disease (PD). Patients with CR, PR, and SD were assigned to the effective group, while those with PD were classified as the ineffective group. Paired t - test or Wilcoxon signed ranks test was used to compare the changes of parameters before and after chemotherapy, whereas Spearman correlation analysis and Kappa test were used for the correlation analysis and the consistency test between the three evaluation criteria (Kappa≥0.75 indicated good consistency). Results: After chemotherapy, the average CT value [(74.01±16.75) HU vs. (81.06±15.87) HU, t=2.202, P=0.030] and median VIU (668.53×10(2) μg vs. 272.52×10(2) μg, Z=4.761, P<0.001) decreased significantly, while the difference of the maximum diameter was not statistically significant [(66.71±34.49) mm vs. (78.45±35.62) mm, t=1.708, P=0.091]. The median change rate of VIU (-53.33%) was greater than that of CT values (-5.75%) with significant difference (Z=-5.408, P<0.001). According to the RECIST 1.1 criteria, 47 patients (90.4%, including 19 with PR and 28 with SD) were effective and 5 patients (9.6%) were ineffective. According to the Choi criteria, 45 patients (86.5%, including 37 with PR and 8 with SD) were effective and 7 patients (13.5%) were ineffective. According to the VIU criteria, 46 patients (88.5%, including 41 with PR and 5 with SD) were effective and 6 patients (11.5%) were ineffective. Efficacy comparison among these three criteria showed no significant difference (χ(2)=0.377, P=0.828). As compared to RECIST 1.1 evaluation, the proportion of PR evaluated by Choi and VIU was significantly higher (χ(2)=16.861, P<0.001), whereas the proportion of SD was significantly lower (χ(2)=24.089, P<0.001). There was no significant difference in the proportions of PR and SD between VIU and Choi criteria (χ(2)=0.887, P=0.346). Consistency and correlation analysis showed that the VIU and Choi evaluation criteria presented the highest consistency and correlation (Kappa=0.912, P<0.001; r=0.916, P<0.001). Conclusion: VIU is a feasible parameter for the evaluation of chemotherapy efficacy in advanced gastric cancer, and may be more sensitive than the evaluation criteria based on maximum diameter or change of CT value in the tumor.

Abstract
microRNA (miR/miRNA)-27a-3p has been reported to be abnormally expressed in various types of cancer, including colorectal cancer (CRC). B-cell translocation gene 1 (BTG1) has also been implicated with CRC. However, the association between miR-27a-3p and BTG1 in CRC, to the best of our knowledge, has not been investigated. In order to assess whether miR-27a-3p is associated with CRC, reverse transcription-quantitative PCR was performed on 20 paired CRC and paracancerous tissues for miRNA analysis. For the screening and validation of miR-27a-3p expression in colon cancer, several colon cancer cell lines (HCT-116, HCT8, SW480, HT29, LOVO and Caco2) and the normal colorectal epithelial cell line NCM460 were examined. The highest expression levels of miR-27a-3p were detected in the HCT-116, which was selected for further experimentation. The HCT-116 cells were divided into control, miR-27a-3p mimic and inhibitor groups, and cell proliferation was tested using an MTT assay. Additionally, miR-27a-3p inhibitor/mimic or BTG1 plasmid were transfected into the HCT-116 cells, and flow cytometry was performed to analyze cell cycle distributions. TUNEL analysis was performed to detect apoptosis. Protein levels of factors in the downstream signaling pathway mediated by miR-27a-3p [ERK/mitogen-activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (MEK)] were detected. miR-27a-3p was revealed to be overexpressed in human CRC tissues and colon cancer cell lines. Knockdown of miR-27a-3p suppressed proliferation of HCT-116 cells and apoptosis was increased. It further markedly upregulated expression levels of BTG1 and inhibited activation of proteins of the ERK/MEK signaling pathway. In addition, overexpression of BTG1 in HCT-116 cells triggered G1/S phase cell cycle arrest and increased apoptosis via the ERK/MEK signaling pathway. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that the effects of miR-27a-3p on colon cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis were similar to those of the tumor suppressor gene BTG1. The miR-27a-3p/BTG1 axis may have potential implications for diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in CRC.

A randomized phase II, open-label and multicenter study of combination regimens of bortezomib at two doses by subcutaneous injection for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients. J Cancer Res Clin Oncol 2019; 145:2343-2355. [PMID: 31280348 DOI: 10.1007/s00432-019-02967-3] [Citation(s) in RCA: 3] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.6] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 05/16/2019] [Accepted: 07/01/2019] [Indexed: 12/14/2022]
Abstract
PURPOSE Combinations of bortezomib (Velcade), cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone have shown significant efficacy and safety for patients of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM). In this study, we compared the efficacy and safety of modified VCD regimens with novel changes in bortezomib dose and schedule for NDMM. METHODS Eighty-five NDMM patients from multiple centers were randomly assigned to a high-dose (1.6 mg/m2) (group A) or a low-dose (1.3 mg/m2) (group B) bortezomib, administrated on days 1, 6, 11, and 16 subcutaneously in a 4-week cycle for nine cycles, combined with 40 mg dexamethasone on bortezomib days and cyclophosphamide 300 mg/m2 on days 1-3 intravenously. RESULTS After four cycles, complete response (CR) or better in group A (43.6%) was higher than that in group B (12.8%) (P = 0.002). During induction, for patients with R-ISS stage III, the CR or better rate in group A was superior to that in group B (P = 0.01). Of patients < 65, the CR or better rate of group A was superior to that of group B (P = 0.004). Rapid onset of CR occurred in group A (P < 0.01). Meanwhile, rate of 3-4 diarrhea was higher in group A (P = 0.03), which caused higher rate of dose reduction for patients ≥ 65 (P = 0.041). No significant difference between the two groups in PFS and OS. CONCLUSIONS The studied high-dose VCD as induction regimen had an improved CR rate, especially in patients < 65 or with R-ISS stage III, and is feasible for young and high-risk patients. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT02086942.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the dose-response relationship between hemoglobin concentration and preterm birth, during pregnancy. Methods: With Zhuang ethnicity, a total of 12 780 pregnant women and their infants that admitted to Wuming、Pingguo、Jingxi、Debao、Longan and Tiandong hospitals, were recruited, in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from January 2015 to December 2017. Non-conditional logistic regression method was used to analyze the effect of anemia on preterm birth during pregnancy. Dose-response relationship between hemoglobin concentration and preterm birth was explored, using the restrictive cubic spline model. Results: After excluding 2 053 pregnant women with hypertension or aged 35 years and over, results from the non-conditional logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of preterm birth in the anemia group was 1.29 times (OR=1.29, 95%CI: 1.04-1.59, P=0.019) of the non-anemia group in the first trimester. Data from the restricted cubic sample showed that there appeared nonlinear "L" dose-response relationship between hemoglobin concentration and preterm birth in the first trimester and "U" shape in the third trimester (non-linearity test P<0.001). Conclusion: There appeared nonlinear dose-response relationship between the hemoglobin concentration and preterm birth, both in the first and third trimesters.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore clinical characteristics of the Primary Adrenal Lymphoma(PAL), so as to enhance the understanding of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of PAL. METHODS The clinical data of 2 patients with PAL retrospectively analyzed and the clinical characteristics were explored in combination with releted literalures. RESULTS Adrenal gland neoplasm was found in 2 patients by imaging examination. The pathological type of one case was diffuse large B cell lymphoma, the other one was extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma. The former refused to hosipitali3t and the other received to be admited in hospital after the definite diagnosis. She died at the 32th day after diagnosis, due to the complication with acute pancreatitis before chemotherapy. The latter accepted the scheme of"Gemox"combining with the scheme"VP-16+DXM"to control hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. The patient's condition deteriorated rapidly after a short period of improvement, then died at the 40th day after chemotherapy because of multiple organ failure. CONCLUSION PAL is a rare extra-nodal lymphoma with higher malignancy, the combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy results in the best outcome among all the treatments. The prognosis of patients with different pathological types was diverse, thus it is very important to choose the appropriate treatment according to different pathological types.

Abstract
To study the peripheral blood T-cell subsets and regulatory T-cells of multiple myeloma (MM) patients. 48 MM patients and 24 healthy controls were enrolled. Changes in peripheral blood T-cell subsets in the MM patients i.e. CD4+CD25+T cells and CD4+CD25+CD127lowT regulatory cells (CD4+CD25+CD127lowTregs) and in healthy controls were measured using flow cytometry and immunohischemistry. The total T-cells (CD3+) in peripheral blood lymphocyte and auxiliary/induced T-cells (CD3+CD4+ T cell) of the 48 MM patients showed no statistical significance when compared with those of the control group. Suppressor/cytotoxicity T-cells (CD3+CD8+ T cell) increased (p < 0.05). CD4+CD25+T cells and CD4+CD25+CD127low Tregs were significantly higher than corresponding values in the healthy group (p < 0.05). The CD4+/CD8+ T cell ratio of Stage III MM patients was significantly lower than that of the control group (p < 0.05). The CD4+CD25+T cells and CD4+CD25+CD127low Tregs of MM patients in the stable and the progressive stages were significantly higher than those of MM patients in the control group (p < 0.05). The abnormality of the peripheral blood T-cell subset, increased expression of CD4+CD25+CD127low Tregs, and low cellular immunity of MM patients are related to clinical staging and progression of the disease. The quantity of CD4+CD25+CD127lowTregs of peripheral blood cells of MM patients could be significantly increased through the inhibition of CD4+ and CD8+T cell activities. CD4+CD25+CD127low Tregs promotes tumor growth through the inhibition of immunologic cell proliferation. Immunological dysfunction based on Tregs cells plays an important role in the pathogenic course.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis-treatment points and prognosis of rituximab-induced interstitial lung disease (R-ILD), and to improve the recognition of this disease. Methods: The clinical data on 4 cases of R-ILD were analyzed retrospectively, and the related literatures were reviewed. The literature review was carried out respectively in Wanfang Data, CNKI and PubMed by October 2016 with"rituximab"and"interstitial lung disease"or"interstitial pneumonitis"as the search terms. Results: The all 4 patients received chemotherapy including rituximab, had respiratory symptoms after 2 to 5 cycles chemotherapy respectively. The chest computerized tomography findings of all 4 cases showed diffuse ground glass opacities. In all of the patients, the diagnosis of R-ILD was made and glucocorticoids therapy was initiated. After treatment, the clinical symptoms improved promptly and follow-up chest computerized tomography showed pulmonary lesions significantly resolved. Literature review found 48 articles (2 reviews, 6 original articles, 39 case reports and 1 other article) . 50 cases of R-ILD were collected and the chief complaint were dyspnea, cough and fever. The ground-glass pattern on the CT scan of the chest was the important feature of this disease. Therapy included glucocorticoids, discontinuation of rituximab, and any other clinically necessary measures. Conclusions: Rituximab can cause interstitial lung disease. The diagnosis relies on clinical manifestation and radiological findings. The good prognosis depends on prompt discontinuation of rituximab and treatment with glucocorticoids.

Abstract
Primary breast lymphoma(PBL) is a rare and unique type of lymphoma. Female patients are the majority, but its pathogenesis is not clear, and the estrogen may be related with the pathoganesis. Women who have breast implants have more chance to be suffered. The painless breast masses are the most common clinical manifestations, which is similar to breast cancer. Surgical resection of the mass and core needle biopsy are helpful for the diagnosis. The most common pathological type of PBL is diffuse large B cell type, with non GCB type, and it is prone to extranodal relapse in which central nervous system relapse is common which has poor prognosis. Therapy combined with surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are requied, but rituximab added failed to improve its survival. Small molecular targeted drugs may be beneficial to PBL. In this article, the pathogenesis, clinical characte ristics, diagnosis and treatment of PBL are briefly summarized.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution of pathogenic bacteria in the patients with hematologic malignancies received hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and its influence on the expression of BCL-2 and BAX proteins. METHODS The clinical data of 64 patients with malignant lymphoma (ML) received auto-HSCT from January 2011 to December 2015 in our hospital were analyzed. On basis of post-treansplant infection, the patients were divided into infection group (36 cases) and non-infection group (28 cases). The distribution of pathogenic bacteria in 2 groups was identified, the T lymphocyte subsets of peripheral blood, expression level of apoptotic proteins and C-reaction protein (CRP) in 2 group were detected. RESULTS Thirty-six strains of pathogenic bacteria were isolated from 36 case of hematological malignancy after HSCT, including 24 strains of Gram-negative bacteria (66.67%) with predominamce of klebsiella pneumoniae (19.44%). The periperal blood CD4+ (t=2.637, P<0.01), CD4+/CD8+ ratio (t=8.223, P<0.01), BCL-2 protein (t=5.852, P<0.05), BCL-2/BAX ratio (t=14.56, P<0.01) in infection group were significantly lower than those in non-infection group, while CD8+ (t=2.285, P=<0.01), CRP (t=39.71, P<0.01), BAX level in infection group were higher than those in non-infection group. The pearson correcation analysis showed that the CD4+/CD8+ ratio in infection group positively correlated with BCL-2/BAX ratio (t=0.341, P<0.05), while serum CRP level in infection group negatively correlated with BCL-2/BAX ratio (t=-0.362, P<0.05). CONCLUSION The pathogenic bacteria infecting ML patients after HSCT were mainly Gram-negative bacteria. The post-transplant infection can promote the expression up-regulation of related inflammatory factors and apoptotic proteins. The pathogens may be involved in cell apoptisis that provides a new strategy to treat the hematologic malignancies.

Abstract
This study was aimed at investigating the prognostic significance of the absolute monocyte count (AMC) in peripheral blood in patients with newly diagnosed angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma (AITL). AMC was performed in 73 therapy-naive patients with AITL in 2 institutions during 2008-2015, and higher AMC was observed in those with extranodal sites >1, bone marrow involvement, high lactate dehydrogenase level, the EBV infection, no response to treatment and high IPI, PIT, PIAI score group. The best AMC cut-off level at diagnosis was 0.8 × 10(9)/L and the 3-year overall survival (OS) was 64% for patients with low AMC group (≤ 0.8 × 10(9)/L) compared to 10% in high AMC group (>0.8 × 10(9)/L) (P<0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that elevated AMC remained an adverse prognostic parameter. Our results suggest that AMC is an independent prognostic parameter for OS in patients with AITL, and AMC >0.8 × 10(9)/L can routinely be used to identify high-risk patients with unfavorable survival.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of primary breast diffuse large B- cell lymphoma (PBDLBCL). METHODS Clinical records of 9 PBDLBCL patients treated in Department of Hematology of Yijishan Hospital Affiliated to Wannan Medical College from August 2001 to January 2014 were analyzed retrospectively. RESULTS All of the 9 patients were female, with an average age of 48 years (range 28 to 75), 8 cases had unilateral breast tumors and 1 case had bilateral. According to the Ann Arbor stage standard, 2 cases were of stage IE and 7 were IIE. None of them was concurrent with B symptoms; 6 cases had IPI (International prognostic Index) score 0 and 3 had score 1. 2 cases belonged to germinal center B cells type (GCB) and 7 belonged to non-GCB. Double-Hit lymphomas were presented in 3 cases. Out of 9 cases, 3 cases were diagnosed by using tubular needle biopsy, 5 cases were diagnosed by using resection of breast mass, and 1 case was diagnosed by using modified radical mastectomy. 1 case received radical mastectomy, 1 case received unilateral breast removal, 1 case gave up, 1 case received mass excision with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, 5 cases received mass excision with chemotherapy and 1 case received central prophylaxis. A complete response (CR) was observed in 6 cases after first-line chemotherapy. The median follow-up time was 18 months (range 0.1 to 150), 3 cases relapsed and 5 cases died. CONCLUSION PBDLBCL mostly occurs in female. The main pathological type is non-GCB coupled with Double-Hit lymphoma. Tubular needle biopsy offers benifit in the diagnosis of PBL, R-CHOP or R-CHOP combined with chemotherapy/radiotherapy produce best outcome among all the treatments. Intrathecal injection of chemotherapy drugs may help to prevent recurrence of PBL central.

Abstract
We investigated the association between 3 main proinflammatory cytokines [interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-6] and the risk of acute pancreatitis. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism was used to genotype IL-1β+3954 C/T (rs1143634) and IL-1β-511 C/T (rs16944) and IL-6 -174 G/C (rs1800795) and IL-6 -634 C/G (rs1800796). The genotype distributions of IL-1β+3954 C/T (rs1143634) and IL-1β-511 C/T (rs16944) and IL-6 -174 G/C (rs1800795) and IL-6 -634 C/G (rs1800796) were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium for the control group. Multivariate regression analyses showed that subjects carrying the rs1143634 TT genotype had a significantly increased risk of acute pancreatitis, with an adjusted odds ratio (95% confidence interval) of 2.11 (1.03-4.51). Subjects carrying the IL-1β rs1143634 TT genotype had a significantly increased risk of acute pancreatitis in our Chinese population.
