Abstract
Aqueous aluminum ion batteries (AAIBs) possess the advantages of high safety, cost-effectiveness, eco-friendliness and high theoretical capacity. However, the Al2O3 film on the Al anode surface, a natural physical barrier to the plating of hydrated aluminum ions, is a key factor in the decomposition of the aqueous electrolyte and the severe hydrogen precipitation reaction. To circumvent the obnoxious Al anode, a proof-of-concept of an anode-free AAIB is first proposed, in which Al2TiO5, as a cathode pre-aluminum additive (Al source), can replenish Al loss by over cycling. The Al-Cu alloy layer, formed by plating Al on the Cu foil surface during the charge process, possesses a reversible electrochemical property and is paired with a polyaniline (cathode) to stimulate the battery to exhibit high initial discharge capacity (175 mAh g-1), high power density (≈410 Wh L-1) and ultra-long cycle life (4000 cycles) with the capacity retention of ≈60% after 1000 cycles. This work will act as a primer to ignite the enormous prospective researches on the anode-free aqueous Al ion batteries.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Congenital muscular torticollis (CMT) is a common musculoskeletal disease affecting infants and young children. If CMT is not treated correctly and timely, it can lead to limited head and neck movements, head and neck deviation, and abnormal posture. In order to improve patients' symptoms and alleviate the negative impact of the disease on their lives, we are committed to exploring the treatment of CMT. METHODS The general clinical and ultrasonographic data of 2599 children with CMT who received standardized treatment at Shenzhen Children's Hospital from 2004 to 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. According to given treatment, children with CMT were divided into the physiotherapy group, physiotherapy combined with glucocorticoid treatment group, and surgical treatment group. We divided children with CMT into local mass, uniform thickening, and atrophy according to ultrasound features. General clinical information, treatment, and ultrasound examination data in each group were compared. Additionally, electronic medical records of 2344 patients admitted due to CMT in 17 tertiary children's hospitals of China's Futang Research Center of Pediatric Development (FRCPD) from 2015 to 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Data on sex, age, year of admission and discharge, and treatment costs during hospitalization were extracted from the first medical record pages according to the ICD codes. The data were assessed for normality using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Depending on the data distribution, they were analyzed using parametric tests, such as the t-test, or non-parametric tests. Qualitative data are expressed as percentages (%) and analyzed using the chi-square or Fisher's exact probability test, with α = 0.05 as the test level. P < 0.05 was considered to be indicative of a statistically significant difference. RESULTS Three types of CMT were defined based on sternocleidomastoid muscle ultrasound examination characteristics: local mass, uniform thickening, and atrophy. Age at first diagnosis was 69.21 ± 108.41 days in local mass type group, 216.85 ± 324.09 days in uniform thickening group, and 417.88 ± 739.05 days in atrophy- type group; while age at first physiotherapy use was 94.06 ± 206.49 days, 255.00 ± 430.62 days, 540.92 ± 1059.29 respectively. The children included in local mass type group have shown a high success rate of conservative treatment, with a rate of 7.5% of children underwent surgery. Age at first diagnosis was 112.44 ± 224.12 days in the physiotherapy group, 115.87 ± 144.86 days in the physiotherapy combined with glucocorticoid treatment subgroup, whereas the age at first physiotherapy use was 137.38 ± 312.11 and 196.91 ± 344.26 days respectively. In the observation period (2015-2019) the mean age at surgery for CMT in 17 tertiary children's hospitals of the FRCPD was 50 months. Overall, 663 children with CMT were 1-2 years of age, accounting for the largest proportion (28.3%). Followed by 417 individuals (17.8%) were 7-14 years of age, indicating that there are still more children with CMT receiving surgical treatment later. CONCLUSIONS Early diagnosis and treatment are essential to improve the conservative treatment success rate and achieve good prognosis in children with CMT. Our team's concept for treating CMT is as follows: after diagnosing the children, we will adopt the standardized protocol of treatment, with physiotherapy combined with the injection of glucocorticoid drugs and SCM release surgery, when needed. This program has a high conservative treatment success rate and may facilitate the achievement of better prognosis and reduced teratogenicity rate.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Visual guidance has been widely proven to improve the reproducibility and stability of Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) treatments. Here, we present a quality improvement project by implementing the use of visual guidance in a multi-campus institution to improve clinical efficiency, including the design of a novel mount for the visual aid and the creation of a patient education video to better prepare lung and GI patients for their DIBH treatments. MATERIALS/METHODS Prior to institution-wide implementation, the clinical feasibility of utilizing visual guidance for DIBH treatments was determined by a pilot study with 10 lung/GI patients. A commercial visual guidance device was used, which consisted of a tablet-like device, attached to a mount affixed to the treatment couch. The device is positioned over the patient's head, displaying the real-time vertical motion of a block with infrared markers on the patient's abdomen. The original mount for the device locks onto the superior end of the treatment couch, which occupies space used for immobilization devices and limits the number of patients eligible for visual guidance when the isocenter is inferior, as for GI patients. A novel in-house mount was designed to overcome this limitation. Also, a patient education video was created to introduce the concept of DIBH and the visual aid device. Visual guidance is offered at the first treatment; its use is optional, and patients may start or stop using it at any time. If the device is not used, the patient relies on audio coaching from the radiation therapists (RTTs), which is the standard practice in our clinic. RESULTS All 10 patients in the pilot who were offered the visual aid used it, found it helpful and continued to use it throughout their treatment, with no issues reported. The median number of fractions for all 10 patients was 5(3-15). The in-house mount was manufactured from 3D printed and machined components. The treatment couch was 3D scanned, and the mount was designed to clamp laterally on the couch top and align with the indexing indentations. The in-house mount is easy to use and is more versatile than the commercial mount, enabling use for patients with inferior isocenters. Prior to treatment, patients were encouraged to view the <3 min long patient education video that consisted of a combination of animation and real-actor content. Verbal instructions for use were also given by RTTs at the first treatment. Upon successful completion of the pilot study, the use of visual guidance was implemented institution-wide across 5 campuses for all lung and GI DIBH patients, being utilized on an average of 14 patients/week. CONCLUSION A quality improvement project was developed and successfully implemented to introduce the use of visual guidance for lung and GI DIBH patients at a large institution, improving the efficiency of DIBH treatment for both the patients and RTTs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In this study, to provide a theoretical basis for understanding the clinical characteristics of epiphyseal fractures in children and improving their management, we explored and analyzed the proportions of different types of epiphyseal fractures in children and evaluated the causes of injury and epidemiological characteristics. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed children younger than 18 years with fresh epiphyseal fractures who were admitted to our hospital from July 2015 to February 2020. Demographic information, injury mechanisms, fracture characteristics, fracture classification and surgical information were collected. RESULTS A total of 1124 pediatric patients (1147 epiphyseal fractures), including 789 boys and 335 girls, were included in this study. Epiphyseal fractures were classified as Salter-Harris type II (1002 cases), type IV (105 cases), type III (25 cases), Salter-Harris type I (14 cases), and Salter-Harris type V (1 case). The number of fracture sites peaked in the adolescent group (440 cases). The most three common sites of epiphyseal fractures were the distal radius (460 cases) in which Salter-Harris type II fractures were the most common (454 cases) and Salter-Harris type I (3 cases), Salter-Harris type IV (2 cases), Salter-Harris type III was the least common (1 case). Followed by phalanges of fingers (233 cases) in which Salter-Harris type II fractures were the most common (224 cases) and Salter-Harris type IV (4 cases), Salter-Harris type I (3 cases), Salter-Harris type III fractures were the least common (2 cases). Distal humerus (146 cases) in which Salter-Harris type II fractures were the most common (95 cases), followed by Salter-Harris type IV (49 cases), Salter-Harris type I fractures were the least common (2 cases). The most three important causes of fractures were falls (720 patients), car accident injuries (68 patients), and basketball falls (43 patients). Among the 1124 children with epiphyseal fractures, 1058 were treated mainly by surgery and the ratio of open and closed reduction was 1:5.3. Eighty-eight patients showed an interval > 72 h between the injury and the hospital visit. Among these 88 patients, the most common fracture type was distal radial epiphyseal fracture (32 cases), and all fractures were of Salter-Harris type II. CONCLUSIONS The epidemiological characteristics of epiphyseal fractures in children indicate the need to strengthen health and safety education and protective measures to prevent the occurrence of these fractures in children. In addition, emergency surgeons and orthopedic surgeons in general hospitals should strengthen their basic knowledge of diagnosing and treating epiphyseal injuries in children to reduce missed diagnoses, misdiagnoses or malpractice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine how honokiol affects the sirtuin-3 (SIRT3)-MnSOD2 pathway and oxidative stress in rats with hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis (HTGP). METHODS Thirty 4-week-old male SD rats were randomly divided into two groups for normal feeding and high-fat feeding for 4 weeks, after which the rats with normal feeding were randomized into control group and acute pancreatitis (AP) group (n=6), and those with high-fat feeding were divided into hypertriglyceridemia group, HTGP group, and honokiol treatment group (n=6). In AP, HTGP, and honokiol groups, AP models were established by intraperitoneal injection of cerulean; in honokiol group, the rats received an intraperitoneal injection of 5 mg/kg honokiol 15 min after cerulean injection. Serum TG, IL-6, and TNF-α levels were measured 24 h after the treatments, and pathological changes in the pancreas were observed with HE staining; The levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde (MDA), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH) were measured, and SIRT3 and manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD2) expressions were detected using Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. Transmission electron microscopy was used to examine the ultrastructure of pancreatic acinar cells and mitochondria. RESULTS Compared with the those with normal feeding, the rats with high-fat feeding had significantly elevated serum TG level (P < 0.05). The rat models of AP showed significantly increased serum levels of IL-6, TNF-α, and MDA and decreased GSH level and expressions of SIRT3 and MnSOD2, with obvious edema and inflammatory cell infiltration and enhanced ROS fluorescence intensity in the pancreas and ultrastructural damages of the acinar cells and mitochondria. In rats with HTGP, honokiol treatment significantly decreased serum levels of IL-6, TNF-α, and MDA, increased GSH level and SIRT3 and MnSOD2 expressions, reduced ROS production, and alleviated ultrastructural damage of the acinar cells and mitochondria in the pancreas. CONCLUSION Honokiol reduce oxidative stress and alleviates pancreatic injuries in HTGP rats possibly by activating the SIRT3-MnSOD2 pathway.

Abstract
Vaccination against human cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection remains high priority. A recombinant form of a protein essential for CMV entry, glycoprotein B (gB), demonstrated partial protection in a clinical trial (NCT00299260) when delivered with the MF59 adjuvant. Although the antibody titre against gB correlated with protection poor neutralising responses against the 5 known antigenic domains (AD) of gB were evident. Here, we show that vaccination of CMV seronegative patients induces an antibody response against a region of gB we term AD-6. Responses to the polypeptide AD-6 are detected in >70% of vaccine recipients yet in <5% of naturally infected people. An AD-6 antibody binds to gB and to infected cells but not the virion directly. Consistent with this, the AD-6 antibody is non-neutralising but, instead, prevents cell-cell spread of CMV in vitro. The discovery of AD-6 responses has the potential to explain part of the protection mediated by gB vaccines against CMV following transplantation.

Abstract
VO2-based film, as a very promising thermochromic material for smart windows, has attracted extensive attention but has not been widely applied because it is difficult to simultaneously improve in terms of both solar-modulation efficiency (ΔTsol) and visible transmittance (Tlum) when made using the magnetron-sputtering method, and it has poor durability when made using the wet chemical method. Herein, island-like ZrO2-VO2 composite films with improved thermochromic performance (ΔTsol: 12.6%, Tlum: 45.0%) were created using a simple approach combining a dual magnetron-sputtering and acid-solution procedure. The film's ΔTsol and Tlum values were increased initially and subsequently declined as the sputtering power of the ZrO2 target was raised from 30 W to 120 W. ΔTsol achieved its maximum of 12.6% at 60 W, and Tlum reached its maximum of 51.1% at 90 W. This is likely the result of the interaction of two opposing effects: Some VO2 nanocrystals in the composite film were isolated by a few ZrO2 grains, and some pores could utilize their surface-plasmon-resonance effect at high temperature to absorb some near-infrared light for an enhanced ΔTsol and Tlum. More ZrO2 grains means fewer VO2 grains in the composite film and increased film thickness, which also results in a decrease in ΔTsol and Tlum. As a result, this work may offer a facile strategy to prepare VO2-based films with high thermochromic performance and promote their application in smart windows.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the factors influencing and long-term effects of manual myotomy (MM) occurring during physiotherapy for congenital muscular torticollis (CMT). METHODS We retrospectively collected the clinical data of children with CMT receiving physiotherapy between 2008 and 2018. The children were divided into manual myotomy (MM) and non-manual myotomy (NMM) groups according to whether MM occurred during treatment. We assessed physiotherapy outcomes in children with CMT using craniofacial asymmetry parameters and the Cheng-Tang rating score. By measuring the ear-eye distance, ear-nose distance, eye-mouth distance, ear-mouth distance, half-head circumference, and half-head top at two sides to evaluate craniofacial asymmetry. Based on the Cheng-Tang assessment criteria, we recorded the range of rotation, range of lateral flexion, the status of the contracted muscle, the hardness of the mass, the extent of head tilting during activities and sleeping, the status of daily activities, face size, type of head shape, cranial changes, and subjective head tilting to assess the effectiveness of treatment. Clinical data and outcome indicators (craniofacial asymmetry parameters and Cheng-Tang rating score) were compared. RESULTS The MM group had a significantly higher total Cheng-Tang rating score than the NMM group (P < 0.05). Age at initial physiotherapy session was the risk factor for MM during physiotherapy. CONCLUSION Children with CMT developing MM during physiotherapy generally have a good outcome, although we do not recommend MM as a goal of treatment. Physiotherapists should understand this phenomenon, assess relevant factors to predict risk, and carefully observe treatment to prevent possible complications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Fractures are the most common type of unintentional injury in children, with traumatic upper limb fractures accounting for approximately 80% of all childhood fractures. Many epidemiological investigations of upper limb fractures in children have been conducted, but with the development of society, the patterns of childhood fractures may have changed. This study aimed to analyze the epidemiology and economic cost factors of upper limb fractures in Chinese children. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed children with upper limb fractures or old upper limb fractures hospitalized between December 1, 2015, and December 31, 2019, in 22 tertiary children's hospitals, under China's Futang Research Center of Pediatric Development. We used the ICD10 codes on the front sheet of their medical records to identify cases and extracted data on age, sex, injury cause, fracture site, treatment, the year of admission and discharge, visiting time, and various costs during hospitalization from the medical record. RESULTS A total of 32,439 children (21,478 boys and 10,961 girls) were identified, of whom 32,080 had fresh fractures and 359 had old fractures. The peak age was 3-6 years in both sexes. A total of 4788 were infants, 14,320 were preschoolers, 10,499 were in of primary school age, and 2832 were adolescent. Fractures were most frequent in autumn (August to October). Admissions peaked at 0 o'clock. Among the 32,080 children with fresh upper limb fractures, the most common fracture site was the distal humerus, with a total of 20,090 fracture events including 13,134 humeral supracondylar fractures and 4914 lateral humeral condyle fractures. The most common cause of injuries was falling over. The most common joint dislocation accompanying upper limb fractures occurred in the elbow, involving 254 cases. Surgery was performed in 31,274 children, and 806 did not receive surgery. Among those with clear operative records, 10,962 children were treated with open reduction and 18,066 with closed reduction. The number of cases was largest in the East China region (Anhui Province, Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, and Fujian Province), with 12,065 cases overall. Among the 359 children with old fractures, 118 were admitted with a diagnosis of "old humerus fracture," accounting for the highest proportion; 244 underwent surgical open reduction, 16.16% of whom had osteotomy. For the children with fresh fractures, the average total hospital cost was 10,994 yuan, and the highest average total hospital cost was 14,053 yuan, for humeral shaft fractures. For the children with old fractures, the average total hospital cost was 15,151 yuan, and the highest average total hospital cost was 20,698 yuan, for old ulna fractures. Cost of materials was the principle factor affecting total hospital cost, followed by surgery and anesthesia costs, both in children with fresh fractures and those with old fractures. Significant differences were observed in all hospital costs (P < 0.001) except treatment costs (P = 0.702), between children with fresh fractures and those with old fractures. Among the 32,439 children, full self-payment accounted for the highest proportion of all payment methods, involving 17,088 cases, with an average cost of 11,111 yuan. CONCLUSION Information on the epidemiological characteristics of childhood fractures suggests that health and safety education and protective measures should be strengthened to prevent upper limb fractures in children. For both fresh and old fractures, the cost of materials was the principal factor affecting total hospital cost, followed by surgery and anesthesia costs. The overall average total hospital cost is higher in children with old fractures than in children with fresh fractures. Among all children, full self-payment, at 53% of children, accounted for the highest proportion of all payment methods. Hospital costs are a headache for those families who will pay on their own. It can lead to a delayed treatment and unhealed fractures or malunion in some children. Therefore, the child trauma care system and training on fractures need to be improved, to reduce the late presentation of fractures. These combined measures will improve children's quality of life, reduce the expenditure of families, and decrease the public health burden. To provide better medical services for children, authorities must improve the allocation of health resources, establish a comprehensive medical security system for children, and set up more child trauma centers.

Abstract
Purpose To explore and analyze the causes and related influencing factors of pediatric fractures, and provide theoretical basis for reducing the incidence and adverse effects of pediatric fractures. Methods This study retrospectively analyzed the epidemiological characteristics of fractures in pediatric aged ≤18 years old who were admitted to the our hospital between July 2015 and February 2020. Results A total of 10,486 pediatric patients were included in the study, of whom 6961 (66.38%) were boys, and 3525 (33.62%) were girls. For the fracture incidence, age group of the 3-6 years reached the peak. 5584 (60.76%) children were operated upon within 12 h after admission. The top three types of fractures were the distal humerus (3843 sites, 27.49%), distal ulna (1740 sites, 12.44%), and distal radius (1587 sites, 11.35%). The top three causes of injury were falls (7106 cases, 82.10%), car accidents (650 cases, 65.72%), and clipping (465 cases, 5.37%). Fractures predominantly occurred between July and November (4664 cases, 48.87%) and on Saturdays and Sundays (3172 cases, 33.24%). The highest number of hospital visits occurred between 20:00 and 00:00 (4339 cases, 45.46%). Conclusion For pediatric fractures, we should take appropriate and effective preventive measures to reduce the incidence of children’s fractures according to the distribution characteristics of age, gender, cause of injury, and fracture site. Abstract
Women with adverse pregnancy outcomes later experience excess hypertension and cardiovascular disease, but how the events are linked is unknown. Examination of the placenta may provide clues to vascular impairments after delivery. Maternal vascular malperfusion lesions (MVMs) were abstracted from clinical reports, validated and characterized using clinical guidelines and severity score. A total of 492 women (170 with MVMs and 322 without MVMs) participated in a study visit 8 to 10 years after delivery to assess blood pressure, cardiometabolic factors, and sublingual microvascular features using sidestream dark field imaging. Covariates included age, race, adverse pregnancy outcomes (preeclampsia, small for gestational age, and preterm birth), and health behaviors. Women with versus without MVM had a distinct sublingual microvascular profile comprised of (1) lower microvascular density (-410 μm/mm2, P=0.015), (2) higher red blood cell filling as a marker of perfusion (2%, P=0.004), and (3) smaller perfused boundary region (-0.07 µm, P=0.025) as a measure of glycocalyx integrity, adjusted for covariates including adverse pregnancy outcomes. Women with MVM also had higher adjusted diastolic blood pressure (+2.6 mm Hg, P=0.021), total and LDL (low-density lipoprotein)-cholesterol (+11.2 mg/dL, P=0.016; +8.7 mg/dL, P=0.031). MVM associations with subsequent cardiovascular measures did not vary by type of adverse pregnancy outcome, except among women with preterm births where blood pressure was higher only among those with MVM. Results were similar when evaluated as MVM severity. A decade after delivery, women with placental vascular lesions had an adverse cardiovascular profile comprised of microvascular rarefaction, higher blood pressure and more atherogenic lipids. Placental histopathology may reveal a woman's early trajectory toward subsequent vascular disease.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair may be performed through open or endovascular approaches, but the factors influencing a patient's repair-type preference are not well characterized. Here we performed a qualitative analysis to better understand factors influencing patient preference within the Preference for Open Versus Endovascular Repair of AAA Trial. METHODS Open-ended responses regarding primary (n = 21) and secondary (n = 47) factors influencing patient preference underwent qualitative analysis using the constant comparative method with iterative reviews. Codes were used to generate themes and themes grouped into categories, with each step conducted via consensus agreement between three researchers. Relative prevalence of themes were compared to ascertain trends in patient preference. RESULTS Patient responses regarding both primary and secondary factors fell into four categories: Short-term concerns, long-term concerns, advice & experience, and other. Patients most frequently described short-term concerns (23) as their primary influence, with themes including post-op complications, hospitalization & recovery, and intraoperative concerns. Long-term concerns were more prevalent (20) as secondary factors, which included themes such as survival, and chronic management. The average age of patients voicing only long-term concerns as a primary factor was 11 years younger than those listing only short-term concerns. CONCLUSION Short-term concerns relating to the procedure and recovery are more often the primary factor influencing patient preference, while long term concerns play a more secondary role. Long-term concerns are more often a primary factor in younger patients. Vascular surgeons should consider this information in shared decision making to reach an optimal outcome.

Abstract
The brain of the domestic pig (Sus scrofa domesticus) has drawn considerable attention due to its high similarities to that of humans. However, the cellular compositions of the pig brain (PB) remain elusive. Here we investigated the single-nucleus transcriptomic profiles of five regions of the PB (frontal lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe, occipital lobe, and hypothalamus) and identified 21 cell subpopulations. The cross-species comparison of mouse and pig hypothalamus revealed the shared and specific gene expression patterns at the single-cell resolution. Furthermore, we identified cell types and molecular pathways closely associated with neurological disorders, bridging the gap between gene mutations and pathogenesis. We reported, to our knowledge, the first single-cell atlas of domestic pig cerebral cortex and hypothalamus combined with a comprehensive analysis across species, providing extensive resources for future research regarding neural science, evolutionary developmental biology, and regenerative medicine.

Abstract
Background Unintentional injury is one of the top three causes of death for infants. However, the epidemiological studies of skeletal trauma and skull fractures in infants younger than 1 year were poorly understood in China. Therefore, our study aimed to examine accidental and emergency attendance in infants under 1 year. It also tried to determine the prevalence and severity of accident types in infants. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the demographic characteristics of infants younger than 1 year with skeletal trauma and skull fractures who visited the Shenzhen Children’s Hospital from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019. Age, gender, fracture site and type, mechanism of injury, length of visit, length of hospital stay, hospitalization cost, and treatment methods were analyzed. Results A total number of 675 fractures in 664 infants were included, the median age was 187days (IQR,90-273days), including 394 males and 270 females. The top three fracture sites were the skull (430 sites, 63.70 %), long bones of the limbs (168 sites, 24.89 %), and clavicle (53 sites, 7.85 %). The top three causes of injury were locomotion injuries (256 cases, 38.55 %), falls or trips from low height (from beds, tables, chairs, etc.) (130 cases, 19.58 %), and birth injuries (97 cases, 14.61 %). The greatest amount of fractures occurred in children 1–28 days of life (d) reached a top of 101 cases, followed by 331–365 days, accounting for 15.21 and 10.24 %, respectively. The number of fractures reached a trough of 29 cases in the 29-60d group (4.37 %). And increased again to 65 cases in the 151-180d group (9.79 %). The proportion remained relatively constant at 9 % in the 181-210d group (9.19 %) and 211-240d group (9.64 %). The interval between injury and visiting our hospital was ≤ 72 h in 554 cases. Conclusions Special attention should be given to the demographic characteristics of fractures in infants under 1 year of age, and appropriate outreach should be implemented. For example, health education should be provided to aid in the prevention especially for frequently occurring locomotion injuries, and prompt access to specialist medical care should be recommended for skull fractures, which are prone to delayed treatment. In addition, multidisciplinary collaboration should be implemented in trauma care, while also promoting the establishment of trauma centers in specialist children’s hospitals with a stronger capacity to treat pediatric trauma, and a regional system for pediatric trauma treatment.

Abstract
Aluminum hydride (AlH3) is a binary metal hydride with a mass hydrogen density of more than 10% and bulk hydrogen density of 148 kg H2/m3. Pure aluminum hydride can easily release hydrogen when heated. Due to the high hydrogen density and low decomposition temperature, aluminum hydride has become one of the most promising hydrogen storage media for wide applications, including fuel cell, reducing agents, and rocket fuel additive. Compared with aluminum powder, AlH3 has a higher energy density, which can significantly reduce the ignition temperature and produce H2 fuel in the combustion process, thus reducing the relative mass of combustion products. In this paper, the research progress about the structure, synthesis, and stability of aluminum hydride in recent decades is reviewed. We also put forward the challenges for application of AlH3 and outlook the possible opportunity for AlH3 in the future.

Abstract
Olfaction, the sense of smell, is a fundamental trait crucial to many species. The olfactory bulb (OB) plays pivotal roles in processing and transmitting odor information from the environment to the brain. The cellular heterogeneity of the mouse OB has been studied using single-cell RNA sequencing. However, the epigenetic landscape of the mOB remains mostly unexplored. Herein, we apply single-cell assay for transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing to profile the genome-wide chromatin accessibility of 9,549 single cells from the mOB. Based on single-cell epigenetic signatures, mOB cells are classified into 21 clusters corresponding to 11 cell types. We identify distinct sets of putative regulatory elements specific to each cell cluster from which putative target genes and enriched potential functions are inferred. In addition, the transcription factor motifs enriched in each cell cluster are determined to indicate the developmental fate of each cell lineage. Our study provides a valuable epigenetic data set for the mOB at single-cell resolution, and the results can enhance our understanding of regulatory circuits and the therapeutic capacity of the OB at the single-cell level.

Medication self-management support has been recognised as an essential element in primary health care to promote medication adherence and health outcomes for older people with chronic conditions. A patient-centred intervention empowering patients and supporting medication self-management activities could benefit older people. This pilot study tested a newly developed medication self-management intervention for improving medication adherence among older people with multimorbidity.
Method
This was a two-arm randomised controlled trial. Older people with multimorbidity were recruited from a community healthcare centre in Changsha, China. Participants were randomly allocated to either a control group receiving usual care (n = 14), or to an intervention group receiving three face-to-face medication self-management sessions and two follow-up phone calls over six weeks, targeting behavioural determinants of adherence from the Information-Motivation-Behavioural skills model (n = 14). Feasibility was assessed through recruitment and retention rates, outcome measures collection, and intervention implementation. Follow-up data were measured at six weeks after baseline using patient-reported outcomes including medication adherence, medication self-management capabilities, treatment experiences, and quality of life. Preliminary effectiveness of the intervention was explored using generalised estimating equations.
Results
Of the 72 approached participants, 28 (38.89%) were eligible for study participation. In the intervention group, 13 participants (92.86%) completed follow-up and 10 (71.42%) completed all intervention sessions. Ten participants (71.42%) in the control group completed follow-up. The intervention was found to be acceptable by participants and the intervention nurse. Comparing with the control group, participants in the intervention group showed significant improvements in medication adherence (β = 0.26, 95%CI 0.12, 0.40, P < 0.001), medication knowledge (β = 4.43, 95%CI 1.11, 7.75, P = 0.009), and perceived necessity of medications (β = −2.84, 95%CI -5.67, −0.01, P = 0.049) at follow-up.
Conclusions
The nurse-led medication self-management intervention is feasible and acceptable among older people with multimorbidity. Preliminary results showed that the intervention may improve patients’ medication knowledge and beliefs and thus lead to improved adherence.

Abstract
Background:Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and syndrome(SS) are common rheumatic diseases with high incidence. Patients with those rheumatic diseases are at high risk of tuberculosis (TB) infection. However, manifestations can be atypical and easily confused with those of rheumatic disease itself. For those patients, diagnosis is usually much more difficult and further make treatment delayed. Sometimes it may lead to mistreatment. Therefore, it is important to recognize the clinical characteristics of those patients.Objectives:To explore the clinical characteristics and high risk factors of common systemic rheumatism complicated with tuberculosis infection.Methods:A total of 3,906 cases of RA, SLE, and SS common systemic rheumatism diagnosed in the People’s Hospital of Sichuan Province from January 2007 to January 2017 were collected with carefully exclusion with other infectious diseases and neoplastic disease. One hundred and five patients with TB were included as infection group, including 42 cases of RA, 41 cases of SLE, and 22 cases of SS. In the control group, 84 patients with RA, 82 patients with SLE, and 44 patients with SS were randomly selected from the corresponding rheumatoid non-infected patients hospitalized during the same period.Results:Fever was the most common symptom among 42 cases of RA, 41 cases of SLE, and 22 cases of SS with TB, accounting for 83.3%, 92.7%, and 68.2%, respectively. Cough, weight loss or fatigue was less common. For 41 cases of SLE and 22 cases of SS with TB, the proportion of pulmonary was 46.3%, 59.01%, respectively.In TB infection group, 27 cases of RA, 21 cases of SLE, and 13 cases of SS with TB had two or more chest CT findings, accounting for 59%, 57%, 62%, respectively. Lesions located in the posterior or posterior segment which TB usually affected were 9 cases(33.3%),9cases(42.9%),6cases(27.2%),respectively.The daily average dose of hormones within 1 year in TB infection group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). For SLE patients, lower counts of CD4+TL were found in TB infection group (P<0.05), while no such differences were found in RA and SS group.Conclusion:Patients with RA who have TB infection are mainly pulmonary TB. For SLE and SS patients, the chance of pulmonary tuberculosis and extra-pulmonary tuberculosis is similar.Symptoms of RA, SLE, SS with TB, such as fever, cough, weight loss, fatigue, are similar with the primary disease or other infection. Chest imaging is diversity. It is difficult to diagnose.Daily average dose of hormone within one year may be a common risk factor for RA, SLE and SS patients with TB. Abstract
Background:The incidence of primary Sjögren’s syndrome(pSS) is increasing gradually,and it was ranking second among connective tissue diseases(CTDs)in China.Studies recently have shown that many patients with various CTDs have sleep disturbances,which seriously degraded the patient’s quality of life.As well known, Sleep is an important physiological process to maintain human metabolism, tissue repair,and homeostasis. At present,there are relatively several studies on sleep quality in patients with Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)and Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),but less reports on pSS in China have been published.Therefore,it is important to explore the quality of sleep and its influencing factors in such patients.Objectives:The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of sleep and related factors in China Mainland patients with primary Sjögren’s syndrome(pSS),and to provide reference and theoretical basis for constructing targeted sleep interventions and improve their quality of life.Methods:A all of 103 pSS patients and 40 matched healthy controls were enrolled in a comparative study of sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),and demographic,clinical,and laboratory data were collected from them.The patients completed questionnaires on the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR)SS Patient Reported Index(ESSPRI), EULAR SS Disease Activity Index (ESSDAI),Xerostomia inventory(XI)with the help of researchers,Pain and fatigue were evaluated with a 100-mm visual analogue scale(VAS).Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire(PHQ-9) were used to assess anxiety and depression separately,and whether they have autonomic symptoms (such as sweating, palpitations.)will be asked.Results:The PSQI score and the frequency of poor sleep quality(PSQI>7) were higher in the pSS patients (11.60±5.03,71.8%)than the healthy controls(5.98±3.85,25%).Poor sleepers had a significantly higher GAD-7,PHQ-9,XI,ESSPRI,pain and fatigue VAS,and longer disease duration than good sleepers.Additionally, poor sleepers show more frequent autonomic symptoms.Sleep quality of patients with pSS was positive correlated with GAD-7,PHQ-9,XI,ESSPRI,pain and fatigueVAS scores,but no correlation with disease activity.Meanwhile,depression is a independent factor of sleep quality.Conclusion:Our study showed that the sleep disturbance seen in patients with pSS may contribute to the depression associated with this disease,Future research should investigate that whether antidepressant treatment improve sleep and directly improve quality of life.References:[1]AustadC, Kvien TK, Olsen I C.Sleep disturbance in patients with rheumatoid arthritis is related to fatigue, disease activity,and other patient-reported outcomes[J]. Abstract
Effective laboratory markers for the estimation of disease severity and predicting the clinical progression of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is urgently needed. Laboratory tests, including blood routine, cytokine profiles and infection markers, were collected from 389 confirmed COVID-19 patients. The included patients were classified into mild (n = 168), severe (n = 169) and critical groups (n = 52). The leukocytes, neutrophils, infection biomarkers [such as C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT) and ferritin] and the concentrations of cytokines [interleukin (IL)-2R, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α] were significantly increased, while lymphocytes were significantly decreased with increased severity of illness. The amount of IL-2R was positively correlated with the other cytokines and negatively correlated with lymphocyte number. The ratio of IL-2R to lymphocytes was found to be remarkably increased in severe and critical patients. IL-2R/lymphocytes were superior compared with other markers for the identification of COVID-19 with critical illness, not only from mild but also from severe illness. Moreover, the cytokine profiles and IL-2R/lymphocytes were significantly decreased in recovered patients, but further increased in disease-deteriorated patients, which might be correlated with the outcome of COVID-19. Lymphopenia and increased levels of cytokines were closely associated with disease severity. The IL-2R/lymphocyte was a prominent biomarker for early identification of severe COVID-19 and predicting the clinical progression of the disease.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE miR-194-5p and NEAT1 have been reported to be associated with multiple malignancies, but their roles in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains not fully understood. METHODS Bone marrow samples were collected for monocyte separation. qRT-PCR assay was performed to investigate the expression patterns of NEAT1 and miR-194-5p in AML. CCK-8, soft agar colony formation, flow cytometry and transwell assays were employed to explore the biological functions of NEAT1 or miR-194-5p. Methylation PCR was performed to monitor the methylation of NEAT1. Luciferase reporter assay was subjected to verify the relationship between miR-194-5p and DNMT3A. Immunofluorescence and western blotting were performed to detect the alterations of protein expression. RESULTS NEAT1 and miR-194-5p were both down-regulated in AML. Overexpression of either NEAT1 or miR-194-5p repressed proliferation, induced apoptosis and restrained migration and invasion of AML cells. There was a negative correlation between NEAT1 and DNMT3A in AML. Knockdown of DNMT3A dramatically decreased the methylation of NEAT1. Moreover, DNMT3A was identified as a downstream target of miR-194-5p. Furthermore, down-regulation of DNMT3A rescued the impacts on the malignant phenotypes of NEAT1 inhibition by miR-194-5p inhibitor. CONCLUSION Altogether, down-regulation of NEAT1 mediated by miR-194-5p/DNMT3A axis promotes AML progression, which might provide therapeutic targets in AML treatment.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Cardiomyocyte hypertrophy is considered to be a compensatory process of heart suffering from pathological damages. This study aimed to evaluate effects of Na+/K+ APTaseα2 (NAKα2) on isoprenaline (ISO) induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. MATERIALS AND METHODS Mouse atrial cardiomyocytes were cultured and treated with ISO to establish cardiomyocyte hypertrophy model. NAKα2 over-expression and small interfere RNA (siRNA) plasmids were constructed and transfected to cardiomyocytes. Influx Ca2+ ([Ca2+]i) was measured using flow cytometry method. Fibrosis formation was examined with Masson staining. Transferase-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining was used to examine apoptosis. Major histocompatibility complex β (β-MHC), atrial natriuretic peptides (ANP), B-type natriuretic peptides (BNP) were evaluated with quantitative Real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). Western blot was used to detect β-MHC, ANP, BNP, Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX) and L-type calcium channel (LTCC). RESULTS NAKα2 significantly inhibited NCX and LTCC expression compared to that in ISO-treated cardiomyocytes (p<0.05). NAKα2 significantly suppressed expression of β-MHC, ANP and BNP compared to that in ISO-treated cardiomyocytes (p<0.05). NAKα2 significantly alleviated fibrosis formation and inhibited apoptosis compared to that in ISO-treated cardiomyocytes (p<0.05). NAKα2 reduced intracellular calcineurin and activated phosphorylation of calcineurin-nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) compared to ISO-treated cardiomyocytes (p<0.05). NAKα2 significantly strengthened effects of Klotho on ISO-induced up-regulation of hypertrophy associated molecules (p<0.05) by activating LTCC and NCX. Comparing to ISO-treated cardiomyocytes, NAKα2 combining Klotho treatment exhibited significantly better improvement of Ca2+ influx, alleviation of fibrosis and reduction of apoptosis by triggering LTCC/NCX signaling pathway. CONCLUSIONS Over-expression of NKAα2 suppressed fibrosis formation and protected against cardiomyocyte hypertrophy by inhibiting hypertrophy associated molecules, alleviating apoptosis and activating LTCC/NCX signaling pathway.

Abstract
Lysinuric protein intolerance (LPI) is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by SLC7A7 gene mutation and often involves severe lesions in multiple systems. Lung involvement is frequently seen in children with LPI and such children tend to have a poor prognosis. This article summarizes the clinical manifestations and gene mutation characteristics of three children diagnosed with LPI by SLC7A7 gene analysis. All three children had the manifestations of aversion to protein-rich food after weaning, delayed development, anemia, hepatosplenomegaly, and osteoporosis, as well as an increase in orotic acid in urine. In addition, interstitial pneumonia and diffuse pulmonary interstitial lesions were observed in two children. SLC7A7 gene detection showed three pathogenic mutations in these children, namely c.1387delG(p.V463CfsX56), c.1215G>A(p.W405X) and homozygous c.625+1G>A. After a definite diagnosis was made, all three children were given a low-protein diet and oral administration of citrulline [100 mg/(kg.d)], iron protein succinylate [4 mg/(kg.d)], calcium and zinc gluconates oral solution (10 mL/day) and vitamin D (400 IU/day). In addition, patient 3 was given prednisone acetate (5 mg/day). The children had varying degrees of improvement in symptoms and signs. It is hard to distinguish LPI from urea cycle disorder due to the features of amino acid and organic acid metabolism in LPI, and SLC7A7 gene analysis is the basis for a definite diagnosis of LPI.

Abstract
Congenital muscular torticollis (CMT) is a common musculoskeletal abnormality in children, which has been characterized by unclarified pathological changes in the sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) and various hypothetical etiologies. There are 2 main hypothetical etiologies for CMT in the literature: 1 infers that CMT may represent the sequela of an intrauterine or perinatal compartment syndrome, and the other regard CMT as a maldevelopment of the fetal SCM.To better understand the etiopathogenesis of CMT, we screened the necks of 1-day-old newborns that may potentially have CMT for evidence of SCM trauma or tumor.A convenience sample of 2564 full-term (>37 weeks) Chinese neonates were included in this study. All neonates were screened for CMT by physical examination at birth. If CMT was suspected, further ultrasonic and physical examinations were performed. When CMT was confirmed, we provided appropriate interventions and follow-up. The progress and changes in patients with CMT were recorded.Following physical examination, 44 of 2564 neonates were diagnosed with suspected CMT based on obvious facial asymmetry or palpable swelling or mass in the SCM. Among these, ultrasound examination showed 81.8% (36/44) had asymmetry in the thickness of the bilateral SCM. The 36 neonates were followed-up for 6 months; among them, 1 infant developed CMT and 35 showed normal development in bilateral SCM. The 1 patient with CMT underwent regular physiotherapy and recovered with no evidence of recurrence after the final 3 years of follow-up. No neonates suffered from signs of neck trauma, such as hematoma or subcutaneous ecchymosis.There was no evidence of neck trauma in this 1 day old newborn. The pseudotumor of SCM that developed after birth underwent differentiation, maturation, and disappeared as the baby grew. The SCM asymmetry did exist in some of the newborn babies, and became symmetric with the baby's growth. Data from this clinical study and our previous ultra-structural pathological studies suggested that both prenatal and postnatal factors play important roles in CMT. We hypothesized that CMT might be a developmental disease.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the impacts of ash2 (absent, small, or homeotic)-like (Ash2L) and Jumonji domain-containing protein 3 (Jmjd3) on histone methylation of interferon-gamma(IFN-γ) gene and association with vascular damage of Kawasaki disease (KD) in acute phase. Methods: This study was performed among 36 children with KD in acute phase (KD group) and 28 age-matched health children (control group), who were treated or underwent physical examination in our hospital between February 2015 and June 2016. Patients were further divided into KD groups with or without coronary artery lesions (KD-CAL(+) , 16 cases; KD-CAL(-), 20 cases). All KD patients were treated with intravenous immunoglobulin. The proportion of type 1 helper T(Th1) cells and protein levels of IFN-γ, T-box expressed in T cells(T-bet), phosphorylated signal transducer and activator of transcription 1(pSTAT1) and phosphorylated signal transducer and activator of transcription 4(pSTAT4) were analyzed by flow cytometry.Chromatin immunoprecipitation was performed to determine histone methylation (histone H3 tri-methyl K4(H3K4me3), histone H3 tri-methyl K27(H3K27me3)) and binding levels of Ash2L, Jmjd3 and Ezh2 associated with IFN-γ in CD4(+) T cells. Quantitative real-time PCR was used to determine mRNA levels of IFN-γ, interferon γ receptor 1(IFN-γR1), interferon γ receptor 2(IFN-γR2), interleukin 12 receptor subunit beta 1(IL-12Rβ1), interleukin 12 receptor subunit beta 2(IL-12Rβ2), interleukin 18 receptor subunit beta α(IL-18Rα), interleukin 18 receptor subunit beta β(IL-18Rβ), tumor necrosis factor receptor 1(TNFR1), toll-like receptor 4(TLR4), receptor interacting serine/threonine kinase 1(RIP-1) and myeloid differentiation primary response gene 88(MyD88) in CD4(+) T cells. Plasma concentrations of IFN-γ, interleukin 12(IL-12), interleukin 18(IL-18) and tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α) were measured by enzyme-linked Immunosorbent assay. Results: (1)The proportion of Th1 and its protein level of IFN-γ were significantly higher in KD group than those in control group and higher in KD-CAL(+) group than in KD-CAL(-) group (all P<0.05), and lower after treatment than before treatment (all P<0.05). (2)Compared with control group, mRNA level of IFN-γ and IFN-γ-associating H3K4me3 was increased, while level of IFN-γ associating H3K27me3 in CD4(+) T cells was reduced in KD group (all P<0.05), which resulted in a higher rate of H3K4me3/H3K27me3 (P<0.05) in KD group, which was positively correlated with IFN-γ mRNA in KD group(r=0.55, P<0.05). Similar results were found between KD-CAL(+) group and KD-CAL(-) group (all P<0.05). Level of IFN-γ associating H3K27me3 was increased, and mRNA level of IFN-γ and IFN-γ associating H3K4me3 was decreased after treatment than before treatment (all P<0.05). (3)Expression of T-bet protein and binding levels of Ash2L and Jmjd3 with IFN-γ gene were significantly higher in KD group than those in control group(all P<0.05), higher in KD-CAL(+) group than those in KD-CAL(-) group (all P<0.05). These parameters were significantly lower after treatment than before treatment (all P<0.05). Binding level of Ezh2 with IFN-γ gene was similar among various groups (all P>0.05). (4)In comparison with control or after treatment, surface receptors(IFN-γR1/2, IL-12Rβ1/2, IL-18Rα/β, TNFR1 and TLR4) and its downstream molecules(pSTAT1, pSTAT4, RIP(1) and MyD88) in CD4(+) T cells, and plasma concentrations of inflammatory cytokines(IFN-γ, IL-12, IL-18 and TNF-α) were found to be higher in KD group(all P<0.05). These parameters were also higher in KD-CAL(+) group than in KD-CAL(-) group (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Aberrant histone methylation of IFN-γ associating H3K4me3 and H3K27me3 caused by over-binding of Ash2L and Jmjd3 might be involved in immune dysfunction and vascular damage in KD in the acute phase.

Abstract
Myelodysplastic syndromes are a group of hematopoietic stem cell diseases characterized by cytopenia(s), morphological dysplasia, and clonal hematopoiesis. In some patients, the cause of cytopenia(s) is uncertain, even after thorough clinical and laboratory evaluation. Evidence of clonal hematopoiesis has been used to support a diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome in this setting. In patients with cytopenia(s), the presence of clonal cytogenetic abnormalities, except for +8, del(20q) and -Y, can serve as presumptive evidence of myelodysplastic syndrome. Recent advances in next-generation sequencing have detected myeloid neoplasm-related mutations in patients who do not meet the diagnostic criteria for myelodysplastic syndrome. Various terms have been adopted to describe these cases, including clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and clonal cytopenia of undetermined significance (CCUS). Similarly, studies have shown that certain chromosomal abnormalities, including ones commonly detected in myelodysplastic syndrome, may not be associated necessarily with an underlying myelodysplastic syndrome. These clonal cytogenetic abnormalities of undetermined significance (CCAUS) are similar to CHIP and CCUS. Here, we review the features of CCAUS, distinguishing CCAUS from clonal cytogenetic abnormalities associated with myelodysplastic syndrome, and the potential impact of CCAUS on patient management.
