Abstract
In situ forming gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) is one of the most feasible ways to improve the safety and cycle performances of lithium metal batteries with high energy density. However, most of the in situ formed GPEs are not compatible with high-voltage cathode materials. Here, this work provides a novel strategy to in situ form GPE based on the mechanism of Ritter reaction. The Ritter reaction in liquid electrolyte has the advantage of appropriate reaction temperature and no additional additives. The polymer chains are cross-linked by amide groups with the formation of GPE with superior electrochemical properties. The GPE has high ionic conductivity (1.84 mS cm-1 ), wide electrochemical stability window (>5.25 V) and high lithium ion transference number (≈0.78), compatible with high-voltage cathode materials. The Li|LiNi0.6 Co0.2 Mn0.2 O2 batteries with in situ formed GPE show excellent long-term cycle stability (93.4%, 300 cycles). The density functional theory calculation and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results verify that the amide and nitrile groups are beneficial for stabilizing cathode structure and promoting uniform Li deposition on Li anode. Furthermore, the in situ formed GPE exhibits excellent electrochemical performance in Graphite|LiMn2 O4 and Graphite|LiNi0.5 Co0.2 Mn0.3 O2 pouch batteries. This approach is adaptable to current battery technologies, which will be sure to promote the development of high energy-density lithium-ion batteries.

Abstract
The quasi-solid electrolyte membranes (QSEs) are obtained by solidifying the precursor of unsaturated polyester and liquid electrolyte in a glass fiber. By modifying the ratio of tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether, QSE with balanced ionic conductivity, flexibility, and electrochemical stability window is acquired, which is helpful for inhibiting the decomposition of electrolyte on the cathode surface. The QSE is beneficial to the interfacial reaction of Li+, electrons, and O2 in the quasi-solid lithium-oxygen battery (LOB), can reduce the crossover of oxygen to the anode, and extend the cycle life of LOBs to 317 cycles. Benefitting from the application of QSE, a more stable solid electrolyte interface layer can be constructed on the anode side, which can homogenize Li+ flux and facilitate uniform Li deposition. Lithium-oxygen pouch cell with in situ formed QSE2 works well when the cell is folded or a corner is cut off. Our results indicate that the QSE plays important roles in both the cathode and Li metal anode, which can be further improved with the in situ forming strategy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Network pharmacology integrates information such as drugs, targets, and diseases, effectively elucidating the potential interaction between multiple components of traditional Chinese medicine and multiple targets of diseases. However, in many network pharmacology studies, the effect of traditional Chinese medicine on disease targets is often emphasized, while the effect of the gut microbiota on disease targets is ignored. The inclusion of the gut microbiota in the study of network pharmacology can contribute a new idea for the multi-component, multi-target, and multi-approach study of traditional Chinese medicine.
AIM To explore the possible molecular mechanism of Baohe Wan in the treatment of diarrhea with gastrointestinal food stagnation syndrome combined with intestinal flora disorder through network pharmacology.
METHODS The active ingredients and corresponding targets of Baohe Wan were screened based on the TCMSP and BATMAN-TCM databases. The GeneCards database was used to search related targets of diarrhea with gastrointestinal food stagnation syndrome and intestinal flora, and Venny platform was used to screen common targets of active ingredients and diseases. Cytoscape 3.9.1 was used to build disease-target-compound networks to screen effective targets for drug target and disease target interactions. The STRING database was used to construct the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. The effective targets were analyzed using Gene Ontology (GO) function and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis based on the DAVID database.
RESULTS A total of 549 chemical constituents were collected. According to OB ≥ 30% and DL ≥ 0.18, 45 active constituents were obtained, including quercetin, cortin, scutellarin, kaempferol, naringenin, etc. Venn diagram shows that there are 259 possible protein targets in the active ingredients of Baohe Wan, 34 targets that have effects on diarrhea with gastrointestinal food stagnation syndrome, 66 targets that have effects on intestinal flora, and 11 common targets, among which PTGS2, TNF, TP53, ICM1, and IL10 are key targets. A total of 121 biological processes were obtained through GO function enrichment analysis, and 49 pathways were obtained through KEGG pathway enrichment screening, including the TNF signaling pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway, NF-κB signaling pathway, etc.
CONCLUSION The preliminary screening and prediction by network pharmacology suggested that Baohe Wan may improve diarrhea with gastrointestinal food stagnation syndrome combined with intestinal flora disorder through multiple ways and targets.

Abstract
Developing effective marine water quality criteria (WQC) is crucial for controlling marine contamination and protecting marine life. The WQC for copper is urgently needed due to the toxicity and widespread of copper contamination. In this work, both short-term water quality criteria (SWQC) and long-term water quality criteria (LWQC) under 10 % effect endpoints were derived by using the model averaging of species sensitivity distribution (SSD10) method for Bohai Bay. The WQC values were obtained directly from the hazardous concentration for 5 % of species (HC5) values, which removes the influence of arbitrary assessment factor (AF). Modifications to the acute-chronic ratio (ACR) strategies and the inclusion of the test toxicity data of local species also improved the accuracy and applicability of the WQC values. The derived SWQC and LWQC were 2.21 and 0.45 μg/L, respectively. Furthermore, the overall risk level of copper in Bohai Bay was evaluated by using the risk quotient (RQ) method, and the results showed it was at a moderate-low level. This study provides a new approach for the derivation of the WQC for Cu and the risk assessment of Bohai Bay, which is essential for the protection of local aquatic life and provides guidance to the establishment of the national WQC.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics of neonatal tracheotomy in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Methods: This single-center retrospective study included 14 neonates admitted to NICU of Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University from January 2016 to August 2021, and were<28 days of age on admission, who met the criteria of tracheotomy and finally completed the procedure. The clinical characteristics including age, weight, duration of ventilation, etiology of tracheotomy, length of hospital stay and prognosis were summarized and analyzed. Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare the weight gain velocity and the duration of ventilation before and after tracheotomy. Paired t-test was used to compare the hospitalization length before and after tracheotomy. Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between the clinical characteristics and outcomes. Results: For the 14 neonates, the gestational age was (38±4) weeks and birth weight was (2 824±949) g. Nine of them were male. The age on transportation was 16 (6, 25) d. A total of 10 neonates were on invasive ventilation on admission, the other 4 were on nasal continuous positive airway pressure support. Bilateral vocal cord paralysis (7 cases) was the commonest cause of tracheotomy. The age on operation was 33 (22, 44) d. There were statistically significant differences in duration of ventilation and weight gain velocity before and after operation (19.00 (10.50, 34.00) vs. 0.86 (0.06, 3.25) d, 1.66 (-0.16, 5.54) vs. 4.69 (2.30, 9.32) g/(kg·d), Z=3.01 and -1.98, both P<0.05). The total hospital stay in NICU was (37±12) d. One neonate died during hospitalization. The existence of pneumonia on admission was positively correlated to NICU stay length (r=0.57, P=0.027), the pre-operational weight gain velocity was negatively correlated to the post-operational NICU stay length (r=-0.73, P=0.020). There were 4 neonates de-cannulated during 7-38 months after the tracheotomy, and 5 neonates still wearing the tracheal cannulation during 15-66 months after the tracheotomy. Two neonates died and 2 neonates lost follow-up after discharge. All neonates could not vocalize normally before de-cannulation, and the language development obviously lagged behind the normal age group after de-cannulation. Conclusions: Bilateral vocal cord paralysis is the commonest cause of neonatal tracheotomy. The benefit of tracheotomy for NICU neonates with surgical indications is obvious, especially in facilitating extubation and improving weight gain.

Abstract
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES To investigate the value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) including diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) findings in predicting mesenchymal transition (MT) high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC). MATERIALS AND METHODS Patients with HGSOC were enrolled from May 2017 to December 2020, who underwent pelvic MRI including DWI (b = 0,1000 s/mm2) before surgery, and were assigned to the MT HGSOC or non-MT HGSOC group according to histopathology results. Clinical characteristics and MRI features including DWI-based histogram metrics were assessed and compared between the two groups. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify the significant variables associated with MT HGSOC - these variables were then incorporated into a predictive nomogram, and ROC curve analysis was subsequently carried out to evaluate diagnostic performance. RESULTS A total of 81 consecutive patients were recruited for pelvic MRI before surgery, including 37 (45.7%) MT patients and 44 (54.3%) non-MT patients. At univariate analysis, the features significantly related to MT HGSOC were identified as absence of discrete primary ovarian mass, pouch of Douglas implants, ovarian mass size, tumor volume, mean, SD, median, and 95th percentile apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values (all p < 0.05). At multivariate analysis, the absence of discrete primary ovarian mass {odds ratio (OR): 46.477; p = 0.025}, mean ADC value ≤ 1.105 (OR: 1.023; p = 0.009), and median ADC value ≤ 1.038 (OR: 0.982; p = 0.034) were found to be independent risk factors associated with MT HGSOC. The combination of all independent criteria yielded the largest AUC of 0.82 with a sensitivity of 83.87% and specificity of 66.67%, superior to any of the single predictor alone (p ≤ 0.012). The predictive C-index nomogram performance of the combination was 0.82. CONCLUSION The combination of absence of discrete primary ovarian mass, lower mean ADC value, and median ADC value may be helpful for preoperatively predicting MT HGSOC.

Abstract
Background To compare potential of ultrashort time-to-echo (UTE) T2* mapping and T2* values from T2*-weighted imaging for assessing lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD),with Pfirrmann grading as a reference standard. Methods UTE-T2* and T2* values of 366 lumbar discs (L1/2-L5/S1) in 76 subjects were measured in 3 segmented regions: anterior annulus fibrosus, nucleus pulposus (NP), and posterior annulus fibrosus. Lumbar intervertebral discs were divided into 3 categories based on 5-level Pfirrmann grading: normal (Pfirrmann grade I),early disc degeneration (Pfirrmann grades II-III), and advanced disc degeneration (Pfirrmann grades IV-V). Regional differences between UTE-T2* and T2* relaxometry and correlation with degeneration were statistically analyzed. Results UTE-T2* and T2*value correlated negatively with Pfirrmann grades (P < 0.001). In NP, correlations with Pfirrmann grade were high with UTE-T2* values (r = − 0.733; P < 0.001) and moderate with T2* values (r = -0.654; P < 0.001). Diagnostic accuracy of detecting early IVDD was better with UTE-T2* mapping than T2* mapping (P < 0.05),with receiver operating characteristic analysis area under the curve of 0.715–0.876. Conclusions UTE-T2* relaxometry provides another promising magnetic resonance imaging sequence for quantitatively evaluate lumbar IVDD and was more accurate than T2*mapping in the earlier stage degenerative process.

Abstract
Objectives: To analyze the clinical characteristics and outcomes of neonates with upper airway obstruction (UAO) who were admitted via transportation, hence to provide more evidence-based information for the clinical management of UAO. Methods: This was a single center retrospective study. Patients were hospitalized in Beijing Children's Hospital from January 1, 2016 to May 31, 2021 with age <28 days or postmenstrual age (PMA) ≤44 weeks, and UAO as the first diagnosis. The general information of patients, obstructed sites in the upper airway, treatment, complications and prognosis were analyzed. The outcomes of surgical UAO vs. non-surgical UAO were analyzed by 2 by 2 χ2 test. Results: A total of 111 cases were analyzed (2.3% of the total NICU hospitalized 4 826 infants in the same period), in which 62 (55.9%) were boys and 101 (91.0%) were term infants, and their gestational age was (38.7±2.0) weeks, birth weight (3 207±585) g, PMA on admission (40.8±2.5) weeks and weight on admission was (3 221±478) g. There were 92 cases (82.9%) with symptoms of UAO presenting on postnatal day 1, and 35 cases (31.5%) had extra-uterine growth retardation on admission. The diagnosis of UAO and the obstructive site was confirmed in 25 cases (22.5%) before transportation. There were 24 cases (21.6%), 71 cases (64.0%), and 16 cases (14.4%) who had UAO due to nasal, throat, and neck problems, respectively. The top 5 diagnosis of UAO were vocal cord paralysis (28 cases), bilateral choanal atresia (20 cases), laryngomalacia (15 cases), pharynx and larynx cysts (7 cases), and subglottic hemangioma (6 cases). The diagnosis and treatment of all the patients followed a multidisciplinary approach consisted of neonatal intensive care unit, ear-nose-throat department and medical image departments. A total of 102 cases (91.9%) underwent both bronchofiberscope and fiber nasopharyngoscope investigation. Seventy cases (63.1%) required ventilation. Among the 58 cases (52.3%) who required surgical intervention, 16 had tracheotomy. For cases with vs. without surgical intervention, the rate of cure and (or) improvement were 94.8% (55/58) vs. 54.7% (29/53), and the rate of being discharged against medical arrangement were 1.7% (1/58) vs. 45.3% (24/53) (χ²=24.21 and 30.11, both P<0.01). Conclusions: Neonatal UAO may locate at various sites of the upper airway. The overall prognosis of neonatal UAO is favorable. A multidisciplinary approach is necessary for efficient evaluation and appropriate surgical intervention.

Abstract
Conventional prediction model, as a static prediction model, can be only used to predict the probability of the occurrence of an event during the observation period using the information available at baseline survey. However, based on current clinical demands, dynamic prediction, which obtains prediction probabilities for both baseline survey and later time points given the history of the events and covariates up to that time, is gaining a growing attention. As a dynamic prediction model, the landmarking approach is simple, easy to use, computationally efficient and has a comparable performance of joint modeling, which makes it to be widely used in recent researches. Because of its limited application in China, this paper makes a brief introduction of its ideas and basic application to further promote its applications in clinical dynamic prediction.

Abstract
Background Intravenous misplacement of a nephrostomy tube is a rare complication of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) or percutaneous nephrostomy. The mechanism of misplacement of a nephrostomy tube into the vascular system is seldom investigated. One type of the possible mechanism is that the puncture needle penetrates a major intrarenal tributary of the renal vein and enters the collecting system. However, the guidewire is located outside the collecting system near the large branches of renal vein or perforates into the renal vein. The dilation is performed and causes a large torn injury. Subsequently, the nephrostomy tube is placed inside the vessel when radiological monitoring is not used. However, there is no imaging evidence and the scene of procedure is not demonstrated. This paper reports two cases of visualization of the renal vein filled with contrast agent during PCNL. The findings may be good evidence to support the step of renal vein injury in patients with intravenous nephrostomy tube misplacement. Case presentation We presented two cases with visualization of the renal vein filled with contrast agent during PCNL. In the process of injecting the contrast agent through the puncture needle, we could see the renal vein. Moreover, it was identified that the puncture needle tip was not on the optimal position. The position of puncture needle tip lay outside the collecting system, which was close to the calyceal infundibulum and branches of renal vein. Conclusions Visualization of the renal vein filled with contrast agent may be good evidence to verify the renal vein injury in patients with intravenous nephrostomy tube misplacement during PCNL or percutaneous nephrostomy. The suboptimal location of the puncture needle tip and visualization of the renal vein filled with contrast agent indicate the renal vein injury. One type of mechanism of intravenous nephrostomy tube misplacement is as following. Firstly, the guidewire stays outside the collecting system. Subsequently, dilatation directed by the guidewire results in the injury of the vein. Then, the nephrostomy tube migrates into the venous system due to prompt tube inserting and the direction of the sheath and/or the guidewire to the injured vein.

Abstract
Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (FbA), a well characterized glycometabolism enzyme, has been found to participate in other important processes besides the classic catalysis. To understand the important functions of three fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolases from Clonorchis sinensis (CsFbAs, CsFbA-1/2/3) in host-parasite interplay, the open reading frames of CsFbAs were cloned into pET30a (+) vector and the resulting recombinant plasmids were transformed into Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) for expression of the proteins. Purified recombinant CsFbAs proteins (rCsFbAs) were approximately 45.0 kDa on 12% SDS-PAGE and could be probed with each rat anti-rCsFbAs sera by western blotting analysis. ELISA and ligand blot overlay indicated that rCsFbAs of 45.0 kDa as well as native CsFbAs of 39.5 kDa from total worm extracts and excretory-secretory products of Clonorchis sinensis (CsESPs) could bind to human plasminogen, and the binding could be efficiently inhibited by lysine analog ε-aminocaproic acid. Our results suggested that as both the components of CsESPs and the plasminogen binding proteins, three CsFbAs might be involved in preventing the formation of the blood clot so that Clonorchis sinensis could acquire enough nutrients from host tissue for their successful survival and colonization in the host. Our work will provide us with new information about the biological function of three CsFbAs and their roles in hostparasite interplay.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Accuracy of preoperative T-staging for colon cancer remains disappointing and may potentially influenced by patients' individual characteristics including visceral adipose tissue (VAT). We sought to clarify the impact of VAT on the accuracy of T-staging by CT. METHODS This study of 216 consecutive patients who underwent elective surgery was conducted in a single cancer center, to control other potentially confounding factors. Patients were divided into accurate- and mis-staging groups according to the comparison between preoperative CT-defined (cT) and postoperative pathologic T-stages (pT). Patients' individual characteristics, including CT-based VAT at L2/L3 level, age, sex, body mass index (BMI), tumor location, present of bowel obstruction and pathologic subtype, were compared between the two groups. Association between VAT and mis-staging was assessed using multivariate logistic regression to adjust for confounders. RESULTS Of the 216 patients, 84 (39%) were mis-staged by CT. The mean VAT in accurate-staging group was significantly higher than that in mis-staging group (146.8 ± 66.1 cm2 vs 98.1 ± 44.7 cm2, P < 0.001), with an optimal cutoff point of 122 cm2 for predicting mis-staging. After partial adjustment, a lower VAT (< 122 cm2, P < 0.001) and proximal location of tumor (P = 0.004) were independent factors associated with higher probability of mis-staging. Compared to VAT ≥ 122 cm2 as the reference, VAT < 122 cm2 exhibited an odds ratio of 2.701 (95% confidence intervals [CI], 1.618-3.907) for the probability of mis-staging. CONCLUSION A lower-VAT is associated with an increased probability of inaccurate clinical T-staging in colon cancer.

Virtual reality for acute and chronic pain management in adult patients: a narrative review. Anaesthesia 2020; 76:695-704. Abstract
Virtual reality is a computer-generated environment that immerses the user in an interactive artificial world. This ability to distract from reality has been utilised for the purposes of providing pain relief from noxious stimuli. As technology rapidly matures, there is potential for anaesthetists and pain physicians to incorporate virtual reality devices as non-pharmacological therapy in a multimodal pain management strategy. This systematic narrative review evaluates clinical studies that used virtual reality in adult patients for management of acute and chronic pain. A literature search found 690 citations, out of which 18 studies satisfied the inclusion criteria. Studies were assessed for quality using the Jadad and Nottingham-Ottawa Scales. Agreement on scores between independent assessors was 0.87 (95%CI 0.73-0.94). Studies investigated virtual reality use: intra-operatively; for labour analgesia; for wound dressing changes; and in multiple chronic pain conditions. Twelve studies showed reduced pain scores in acute or chronic pain with virtual reality therapy, five studies showed no superiority to control treatment arms and in one study, the virtual reality exposure group had a worsening of acute pain scores. Studies were heterogeneous in: methods; patient population; and type of virtual reality used. These limitations suggest the evidence-base in adult patients is currently immature and more rigorous studies are required to validate the use of virtual reality as a non-pharmacological adjunct in multimodal pain management.

[The performance of visual photoscreening for Chinese preschool children aged 4 to 5 years]. [ZHONGHUA YAN KE ZA ZHI] CHINESE JOURNAL OF OPHTHALMOLOGY 2020; 56:189-196. [PMID: 32187947 DOI: 10.3760/cma.j.issn.0412-4081.2020.03.006] [Citation(s) in RCA: 2] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.5] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/05/2022]
Abstract
Objective: To assess the accuracy of photoscreening for detecting refractive amblyopia risk factors (ARFs) in Chinese preschool children aged 4 to 5 years. Methods: A cross-sectional study. Comprehensive ocular examinations were conducted for preschool children in Nanjing, China from September to December, 2016. Photoscreening (Plusoptix A12C) was applied for refractive screening without cycloplegia. Voluntary children and children suspected of eyes abnormalities received cycloplegic retinoscopy (CR). Results of photoscreening and CR were compared using Wilcoxon signed rank test, and Bland-Altman plot were used to assess the agreement between the photoscreener and CR. According to the updated preschool vision screening guidelines from American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) in 2013, CR was adopted for identifying children with ARFs, which was considered as a golden standard. Based on the golden standard, the accuracy of 5 sets of referral criteria (including sensitivity standard, Matta/Silbert standard, AAPOS2013 standard, Alaska Blind Child Discovery standard, specificity standard) for photoscreener were tested. Receiver operating characteristics curves were constructed applied to evaluate the quality of the photoscreener in refractive ARFs detection and to find probably the best cut-off points. Results: In total, 1 986 children [mean age, (4.57±0.29) years] received comprehensive examinations, including 1 084 boys and 902 girls. The test ability of photoscreening was 99.04% (1 967/1 986) in the preschool children, and 96.56%(1 827/1 892) of the children got a reliable result within three screening attempts. In 538 children who had data of CR, refractive error of one child exceeded the upper limit of the photoscreener value setting, which was directly categorized as hyperopia, so in the end, 537 children were included to analyze the comparison between the two tests. The measurement values of photoscreening were lower than those of CR in sphere, cylinder and spherical equivalent [(0.75 (0.50, 1.25) D vs. 1.25 (1.00, 1.75) D, Z=-10.36, P<0.01; -0.50 (-0.75, -0.25) D vs. -0.25 (-0.75, 0.00) D, Z=-11.10, P<0.01; 0.63 (0.38, 0.88) D vs. 1.00 (0.75, 1.50) D, Z=-13.33, P<0.01]. The 95% limit of agreement cover rates between the photoscreening and CR in sphere, cylinder and spherical equivalent was 96.28% (517/537), 95.34% (512/537) and 96.65% (519/537), respectively. Based on the golden standard, 47 (8.74%) children had refractive ARFs, and the range of sensitivity, specificity, Youden index, positive predictive values and negative predictive values for detecting refractive ARFs of the 5 common used referral criteria was from 63.83% to 97.87%, from 53.36% to 97.56%, from 0.51 to 0.80, from 16.73% to 74.51% and from 96.57% to 99.62%, respectively. Considering particular refractive ARFs on the basis of the receiver operating characteristic curves, the optimal cut-off point for astigmatism was set at 1.38 D. Conclusion: Photoscreening could be an applicable tool to detect refractive ARFs in preschool children. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2020, 56: 189-196).

Abstract
Background: Extensive-disease small-cell lung cancer (ED-SCLC) has been known to be rapid progression and relapse, despite highly sensitive to chemotherapy. Amrubicin (AMR), a third-generation synthetic anthracycline, was accepted as a feasible alternative compared with the standard first-line chemotherapy for previously untreated ED-SCLC. While, the efficacies of these amrubicin-based regimens are unsatisfactory. Aim: Our meta-analysis was performed to assess the efficacy and toxicity of first-line therapy comparing AMR and chemotherapy in patients with ED-SCLC. Methods: Electronic databases were searched for eligible trials updated on November 2018. Randomized-controlled trials assessing the efficacy and safety of AMR in ED-SCLC were included, of which the interested results were objective response rate (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and adverse events (AEs). Results: A total of 6 randomized controlled trials were included in this analysis. There are no significant differences in OS (OR=1.03, 95% CI=0.66–1.60, P=0.91), PFS (OR=1.2, 95% CI=10.77–1.88, P=0.41) or ORR (OR=1.31, 95% CI=0.90–1.92, P=0.16) with AMR (OR=0.90, 95% CI=0.76–1.05, P=0.17). The most common treatment-related AEs in the AMR group are leukopenia (OR=3.13, 95% CI=1.22–7.99, P=0.02) and neutropenia (OR=3.25, 95% CI=1.38–7.65, P=0.007). Fatigue, anemia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea the difference between the two groups had no statistical significance. Conclusion: The results of our analysis indicated that AMR therapy demonstrated non-inferiority to the standard first-line chemotherapy for previously untreated ED-SCLC. Whether it can be accepted as an alternative regimen to the standard first-line chemotherapy is still warranted.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the impact of different methods of fluid resuscitation on hemorheology during burn shock stage. Methods: Twenty four miniature swines were randomly divided into four groups with 6 in each group (succinylated gelatin group, hydroxyethyl starch group, Parkland group and allogeneic plasma group). Severe burn shock model was established by burning miniature swine with napalm. Two hours after injury, succinylated gelatin, hydroxyethyl starch (130/0.4) and swine allogenic plasma were used as colloid (alternative colloid) in fluid resuscitation according to the burn shock fluid resuscitation formula which is commonly accepted in the field of Burns Surgery. In Parkland group, miniature swines received liquid recovery according to Parkland Formula. The vital signs before and within 48 h after burn were observed by Solar 8000i electrocardiomonitor during the process of transfusion. The infusion speed was adjusted based on the heart rate, blood pressure, urine volume and central venous pressure. The level of hematocrit (HCT), viscosity of plasma (ηp), index of rigidity (IR), red cell assembling index (RCA) and erythrocyte electrophoresis time (EFT) were measured at the time of pre-injury as well as 4, 8, 24 and 48 h post-injury and statistical analysis was performed. Results: HCT in hydroxyethyl starch group and Parkland group at 8 h post-injury were significantly higher than pre-injury [(0.395±0.047) vs (0.333±0.042), (0.379±0.026) vs (0.352±0.019)] (both P<0.05). And compared with pre-injury, HCT in hydroxyethyl starch (130/0.4) group at 48 h decreased significantly (0.232±0.021) vs (0.333±0.042) (P<0.05). HCT in Parkland group at 24, 48 h post-injury were lower than pre-injury [(0.277±0.021), (0.241±0.029) vs (0.352±0.019)] (both P<0.05). Compared with pre-injury, the levels of ηp in Parkland group decreased substantially at 4, 8 and 24 h post-injury [(1.61±0.07), (1.55±0.07) and (1.63±0.07) vs (1.73±0.04) mPa·s] (all P<0.05). Compared with allogeneic plasma group, IR decreased in succinylated gelatin group at 24, 48 h post-injury [(1.10±0.05 vs 1.26±0.07), (1.11±0.05 vs 1.32±0.05)](both P<0.05). RCA in succinylated gelatin group was significantly higher (both P<0.05) at 4 h (6.80±0.87) than pre-injury (5.92±0.43). RCA in hydroxyethyl starch group at 8 h post-injury (6.73±0.56) was significantly higher (both P<0.05) than pre-injury (6.03±0.53). Compared with pre-injury (17.3±1.3 s, 16.4±1.5 s), the levels of EFT in hydroxyethyl starch group (15.5±1.4 s) and Parkland group (13.4±1.2 s) decreased substantially at 48 h post-injury (both P<0.05). Compared with allogeneic plasma group, the level of EFT in succinylated gelatin group at 4 h post-injury (19.5±2.3 s) increased and decreased at 24 h post-injury (12.0±5.7 s) (both P<0.05). Conclusion: During swine burn shock stage, the hemorheological parameters of shock resuscitation with artificial colloid are more stable than those with Parkland formula resuscitation.

Transcriptome profiles of corticosterone-induced cytotoxicity reveals the involvement of neurite growth-related genes in depression. Psychiatry Res 2019; 276:79-86. Abstract
Corticosterone (CORT), the main HPA-axis glucocorticoid hormone in rodents, is involved in the regulation of animal stress responses. However, the neural mechanisms underlying the effects of corticosteroids on depression are yet to be elucidated. We found that fluoxetine reversed neurite growth inhibition induced by CORT in PC12 cells, a widely used model system for neurobiological and neurotoxicological studies. Transcriptome profiling showed that 1,609 genes were up-regulated, whereas 1,764 genes were down-regulated significantly in the CORT group in comparison with the Control group. Of them, the expression of 589 DEGs was reversed after fluoxetine treatment, and genes related to cell morphogenesis, neurite growth, and immune function were involved in the neuroprotective effect of fluoxetine against CORT. Furthermore, expression of neurite growth-related genes, such as such as Calpain 2 (Capn2), vesicle-associated membrane protein 7 (Vamp7) and C-type natriuretic peptide (Cnp), altered in a brain region- or treatment-specific manner in the animal models of depression. Therefore, the interaction between stress, glucocorticoids, and neurite growth inhibition may be a candidate pathophysiology underlying major depressive disorder (MDD), and the identification of Capn2, Vamp7 and Cnp might provide insight into treatment of MDD.

Abstract
Culex pipiens molestus Forskål is common in subterranean and aboveground environments in Shanghai, China. However, little is known about its autogeny, fecundity, and other life history traits. In this study, Cx. p. molestus larvae were collected from four different types of underground parking lots and artificially maintained, without blood feeding, in a laboratory. Life history traits parameters were recorded from the F0 to F9 generation. Culex pipiens molestus from Shanghai can autogenously persist for at least 10 generations, and some females can develop more than one egg batch without blood feeding (oviposition rate in Lot C was >100% in some generations). The average number of eggs per raft produced autogenously ranged from 36.94 to 42.19. The average generation time (GT) ranged from 20.06 to 21.30 d, and the pre-oviposition time (POT) ranged from 2.17 to 12.68 d among the generations. Culex pipiens molestus from the four groups had different autogeny, fecundity, and longevity patterns. This variability may result from genetic polymorphism caused by co-occurrence with other Culex pipiens subspecies (Diptera: Culicidae).

Abstract
BACKGROUND Accurate estimation of the recurrence of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors help with prognosis, guide follow-up, and avoid futile treatments. PURPOSE To investigate whether MRI features could preoperatively estimate the recurrence of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) and to refine a novel prognostic model through developing a nomogram incorporating various MRI features. STUDY TYPE Retrospective. POPULATION In all, 81 patients with clinicopathologically confirmed nonmetastatic PNETs. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCES 1.5 T MR, including T1 -weighted, T2 -weighted, and diffusion-weighted imaging sequences. ASSESSMENT Qualitative and quantitative MRI features of PNET were assessed by three experienced radiologists. STATISTICAL TESTS Uni- and multivariable analyses for recurrence-free survival (RFS) were evaluated using a Cox proportional hazards model. The MRI-based nomogram was then designed based on multivariable logistic analysis in our study and the performance of the nomogram was validated according to C-index, calibration, and decision curve analyses. RESULTS MRI features, including tumor size (hazard ratio [HR]: 14.131; P = 0.034), enhancement pattern (HR: 21.821, P = 0.032), and the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values (HR: 0.055, P = 0.038) were significant independent predictors of RFS at multivariable analysis. The performance of the nomogram incorporating various MRI features (with a C-index of 0.910) was improved compared with that based on tumor size, enhancement pattern, and ADC alone (with C-index values of 0.672, 0.851, and 0.809, respectively). The calibration curve of the nomogram exhibited perfect consistency between estimation and observation at 0.5, 1, and 2 years after surgery. The decision curve showed that a nomogram incorporating three features had more favorable clinical predictive usefulness than any single feature. DATA CONCLUSION MRI features can be considered effective recurrence predictors for PNETs after surgery. The preliminary nomogram incorporating various MRI features could assess the risk of recurrence in PNETs and may be used to optimize individual treatment strategies. Upgrading traditional liquid electrolyte via in situ gelation for future lithium metal batteries. SCIENCE ADVANCES 2018; 4:eaat5383. Abstract
High-energy lithium metal batteries (LMBs) are expected to play important roles in the next-generation energy storage systems. However, the uncontrolled Li dendrite growth in liquid electrolytes still impedes LMBs from authentic commercialization. Upgrading the traditional electrolyte system from liquid to solid and quasi-solid has therefore become a key issue for prospective LMBs. From this premise, it is particularly urgent to exploit facile strategies to accomplish this goal. We report that commercialized liquid electrolyte can be easily converted into a novel quasi-solid gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) via a simple and efficient in situ gelation strategy, which, in essence, is to use LiPF6 to induce the cationic polymerization of the ether-based 1,3-dioxolane and 1,2-dimethoxyethane liquid electrolyte under ambient temperature. The newly developed GPE exhibits elevated protective effects on Li anodes and has universality for diversified cathodes including but not restricted to sulfur, olivine-type LiFePO4, and layered LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2, revealing tremendous potential in promoting the large-scale application of future LMBs.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to isolate and identify yeast strains from the digestive tract of ducks, and evaluate in vitro their potential as probiotics in poultry. The yeast strains were isolated using malt extract agar medium, and identified through morphological, physiological, and biochemical tests as well as sequence homology analyses of 26S rDNA D1/D2 region. A total of 35 yeast strains were isolated from the guts of Cherry Valley meat ducks, including seven strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae). These seven strains of S. cerevisiae were further screened for their use as alternative yeast probiotics strains for poultry feed. The yeast strains were characterized for their cell surface hydrophobicity, autoaggregation ability, and resistance to high temperature (30°C, 37°C, and 42°C), low pH (2.0, 3.0, and 4.0), bile salts (0.3% and 0.6%), and nutrition starvation (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 days). The isolates of WHY-2 and WHY-7 had a higher survival percentage at 37°C, pH 2.0, 0.60% poultry bile salts, and 10 days of nutrition starvation, with higher cell surface hydrophobicity and autoaggregation, when compared with the other isolates, suggesting that the isolates WHY-2 and WHY-7, could be used as probiotic candidates. The data obtained in this study could help in selecting probiotic yeast candidates for use in poultry industry.

Abstract
Background Coronary computed tomographic angiography is a robust non-invasive method to assess coronary artery disease (CAD) and analyze coronary plaque stability, especially for the non-calcified plaques. The aim of this study was to investigate the differential characteristics between the unstable coronary plaques and the stable coronary plaques using multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT). Methods Sixty patients with coronary heart disease (37 unstable plaques and 31 stable plaques) were included. The napkin ring thickness, napkin-ring sign, plaque CT attenuation and degree of lumen stenosis were retrospectively analyzed. The diagnostic performances of MSCT were determined to predict the unstable plaques. The difference was statistically significant if P<0.05. Results The napkin ring thickness of the unstable plaques was thinner than that of the stable plaques (P<0.05). The napkin-ring sign was more frequently observed in the unstable group (89.2%) than the stable group (22.6%, P<0.05). The average CT value of the unstable plaques (26.8±17.8 HU) was lower than that of the stable plaques (68.5±25.5 HU, P<0.05). The unstable plaques had more severe lumen stenosis or occlusion (70.3%) than the stable plaques (41.9%, P<0.05). The measurable napkin ring thickness of the plaques with a cutoff value of 0.8 mm and an accuracy of 89.5% was one independent factor to predict unstable plaques. The optimal combined threshold of the napkin-ring sign and/or the plaque CT value of 53 HU with an accuracy of 80.9% was to predict unstable plaques. Conclusions The optimal combined threshold of the napkin-ring sign and/or the plaque CT value ≤53 HU may be a good indicator to predict the unstable plaques in patients with CAD. The subgroup of measurable napkin ring thickness of the non-calcified plaques may also be an independent factor to predict the unstable plaques in patients with CAD.

Abstract
Two isostructural mononuclear Dy and Er pentanitrate complexes with an LnO10 coordination geometry have been synthesized and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, luminescence and magnetic measurements. Slow relaxation of the magnetization behavior is simultaneously observed in two complexes with the same coordination environment, despite the different types of the 4f-shell electron distribution. Meanwhile, both complexes exhibit the respective characteristic Ln(iii) photoluminescence.

Abstract
The Bi1−x−yLaxPryFeO3 (x = 0 and 0.05; y = 0, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20) (BLPFO) powders were prepared using a hydrothermal method. The lattice structure of the samples was characterized by X-ray diffraction, which revealed an increase in the lattice constant of the doped samples evidencing the substitution of Bi by La and Pr ions. Raman spectroscopy was used to further analyse the structural distortion in the samples. Scanning electron microscopy was used to characterize the morphology of the samples. The atomic concentrations (%) of La and Pr elements in the samples were detected by Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The ferromagnetism of the samples increased with the increase in La and Pr co-doping concentration as observed by vibrating sample magnetometry at room temperature. The evidence of reverse distortion of FeO6 octahedral structure in the La and Pr co-doped samples was revealed by the Mössbauer spectra parameters: Is, Qs, H, Γ, χ2 and area ratio (A1/A2) of two sextets. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinical outcomes of repeated superovulation induction in patients with adenomyosis or moderate to severe pelvic endometriosis after failure in previous IVF-ET cycles with the ultra-long protocol. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data about 37 patients with adenomyosis or moderate to severe pelvic endometriosis in our center from 2009 to 2013, who underwent repeated IVF-ET after failure in the previous cycles with the ultra-long protocol, namely by injection of 2-6 ampoules of 3.75 mg gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a). All the patients met the following requirements: hCG-negative at 14 days after transfer, within 3-7 days after menstruation, and properly down-regulated serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) (<10 mIU/ml), luteinizing hormone (LH) (<10 mIU/ml), estradiol (E2) (<30 pg/ml), follicle diameter (<10 mm) and endometrial thickness, and received GnRH (Gonal-F, Serono) for ovulation induction. We compared the clinical and laboratory data and pregnancy outcomes between the first and repeated cycles before and after ovulation induction. RESULTS The repeated cycles, as compared with previous ones, showed significant increases in the antral follicle count (AFC) on the first day of stimulation (7.55 ± 1.86 vs 6.45 ± 2.5, P<0.05), number of follicles =≥14 mm in diameter on the hCG trigger day (7.81 ± 3.6 vs 5.56 ± 3.68, P<0.05), level of E2 ([2 362.15 ± 1 210.49] vs [1 749.22 ± 1 139.44] pg/ml, P<0.05), and numbers of oocytes retrieved (7.51 ± 3.23 vs 4.78 ± 3.41, P<0.05) and embryos transferred (2.00 ± 0.33 vs 1.50 ± 0.67, P<0.05), exhibited a remarkably reduction in the dose of GnRH ([1 791.65 ± 1 889.41] vs [3 439.56 ± 1 836.53] IU, P<0.05), and achieved a clinical pregnancy rate of 62.16%. CONCLUSIONS With proper reduction of the FSH, LH and E2 levels and follicle diameter, repeated superovulation induction for IVF-ET can improve the ovarian response and pregnancy outcomes of the patients with adenomyosis or moderate to severe pelvic endometriosis after failure in the previous IVF-ET cycles with the ultra-long protocol.

Abstract
Retroperitoneal bronchogenic cysts (RBCs) are regarded as a rare type of congenital dysplasia disease that stems from the primitive foregut. Thus far, the exact pathogenesis of RBCs remains unknown. Due to an atypical clinical manifestation, RBCs are often incidentally detected and diagnosed by imaging modalities, such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. However, they are easily misdiagnosed due to their non-specific imaging features. Additionally, the most appropriate treatment strategy for an RBC is considered to be surgical resection. The present study reports the rare case of a 36-year-old female with a large RBC containing fatty fluid that was previously misdiagnosed as liposarcoma or cystic teratoma. Following a complex surgical resection, pathological findings confirmed a diagnosis of RBC. The follow-up examination showed that the patient was in good health at 16 months post-surgery, with no evidence of recurrence. Although rare, bronchogenic cysts must be considered in the differential diagnosis of retroperitoneal teratoma, and surgical resection should be pursued for symptom resolution and to establish a definitive histology.

Abstract
AIM: To investigate the clinical effects of compound azintamide enteric-coated tablets in the treatment of cholecystitis patients with post-surgery dyspepsia.
METHODS: Sixty cholecystitis patients with post-surgery dyspepsia treated at our hospital were randomly divided into either a study group or a control group, with 30 cases in each group. The study group was given compound azintamide enteric-coated tablets, 150 mg each time, three times per day for 4 wk, and the control group was given matched placebo. The overall symptom score, the total rate of dyspepsia relief and the total score of SF-NDI scale were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.
RESULTS: The overall symptom score and dyspepsia score did not differ significantly between two groups of patients before treatment (P > 0.05). After 28 days of treatment, the scores of dyspepsia symptoms such as anorexia, early satiety, belching, abdominal pain or discomfort and the overall symptom were significantly lower in the study group than in the control group (P < 0.05). Although the total rate of dyspepsia relief at one week after treatment showed no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05), the rates at 2, 3, and 4 wk were significantly higher in the study group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The total score of the SF-NDI scale showed no significant difference between the two groups before treatment, 7 d or 14 d after treatment (P > 0.05), but was significantly lower on 21 d and 28 d in the study group than in the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION: Compound azintamide enteric-coated tablets can effectively improve symptoms and life of quality in cholecystitis patients with post-surgery dyspepsia.

Utilization of excess NADH in 2,3-butanediol-deficient Klebsiella pneumoniae for 1,3-propanediol production. J Appl Microbiol 2014; 117:690-8. Abstract
AIMS To utilize excess NADH for 1,3-propanediol production by 2,3-butanediol-deficient mutants, the effect of dhaT overexpression in two distinct 2,3-butanediol-deficient mutants was investigated. METHODS AND RESULTS Two 2,3-butanediol-deficient mutants, KG1-3 (blocking of the 2,3-butanediol pathway only) and KG1-5 (blocking of both of 2,3-butanediol and lactate pathways) were constructed. Our results showed that although the intracellular redox balance (NADH/NAD(+)) was extremely high at the end of fermentation for both mutants, the status of intracellular redox in KG1-5 was maintained at a normal level following the first stage of fermentation. Analysis of cell growth and metabolite formation confirmed the inhibition of excess lactate in 2,3-butanediol pathway-deficient mutants. Furthermore, dhaT was overexpressed in two 2,3-butanediol-deficient mutants (KG1-3T and KG1-5T). In KG1-5T, the intracellular redox balance was restored to normal and 1,3-propanediol production increased. The yield of 1,3-propanediol from glycerol in KG1-5T was also restored to a normal level of 0·6. CONCLUSIONS The excess NADH in both the 2,3-butanediol- and lactate-deficient mutants can be used by overexpresstion of dhaT. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF STUDY The metabolic flux tended to increase lactate production by the abolishment of the 2,3-butanediol pathway in Klebsiella pneumoniae, and the high accumulation of lactate prevented the cell from using excess NADH, thereby inhibiting cell growth and 1,3-propanediol production.

Abstract
Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) single crystals were grown from dilute solution using a self-seeding method. The PEO single crystals with uniform dimensions, homogeneous chemical and physical properties were used as a simplified ultrathin film system to probe the interfacial properties of different substrates. In situ studying the annealing and melting behavior of PEO single crystals on the PAA, amorphous PEO and PVA substrates were carried out using an atomic force microscope (AFM) equipped with a hot stage. The interaction force between the PEO modified probe and various substrates was measured at different temperatures, and the universal dependence of the interaction force between the probe and polymer substrate on the temperature was demonstrated. The wetting and dewetting behavior of PEO melt on the PAA and amorphous PEO and PVA substrates were observed and the spreading coefficient (S) was proposed to prejudge the spreading behavior of a polymer ultra-thin film on a solid substrate according to the interaction force. Different melting points were found and the initial melting of the PEO single crystals occurred at 51, 54 and 61 °C on the PAA, PEO and PVA substrates, respectively. How the interfacial energy affects the melting point of single crystals was demonstrated, and the theoretical prediction agrees well with the experimental results.

Identification of pheromone components and their binding affinity to the odorant binding protein CcapOBP83a-2 of the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata. Abstract
The Mediterranean fruit fly (or medfly), Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann; Diptera: Tephritidae), is a serious pest of agriculture worldwide, displaying a very wide larval host range with more than 250 different species of fruit and vegetables. Olfaction plays a key role in the invasive potential of this species. Unfortunately, the pheromone communication system of the medfly is complex and still not well established. In this study, we report the isolation of chemicals emitted by sexually mature individuals during the "calling" period and the electrophysiological responses that these compounds elicit on the antennae of male and female flies. Fifteen compounds with electrophysiological activity were isolated and identified in male emissions by gas chromatography coupled to electroantennography (GC-EAG). Within the group of 15 identified compounds, 11 elicited a response in antennae of both sexes, whilst 4 elicited a response only in female antennae. The binding affinity of these compounds, plus 4 additional compounds known to be behaviourally active from other studies, was measured using C. capitata OBP, CcapOBP83a-2. This OBP has a high homology to Drosophila melanogaster OBPs OS-E and OS-F, which are associated with trichoid sensilla and co-expressed with the well-studied Drosophila pheromone binding protein LUSH. The results provide evidence of involvement of CcapOBP83a-2 in the medfly's odorant perception and its wider specificity for (E,E)-α-farnesene, one of the five major compounds in medfly male pheromone emission. This represents the first step in the clarification of the C. capitata and pheromone reception pathway, and a starting point for further studies aimed towards the creation of new powerful attractants or repellents applicable in the actual control strategies.

Abstract
This work presents the first identification of putative odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) from a member of the Pentatomidae, i.e. the brown stink bug Euschistus heros (Fabricius), an important pest of soybean in Brazil. Antennae from both sexes of E. heros adults (12 days old and unmated) were used to construct a cDNA library, from which two transcripts encoding putative E. heros OBPs (EherOBPs) were identified. The expression levels of EherOBP1 and EherOBP2 were found to be higher in male antennae than in female and there was difference in expression in legs, wings, and abdomens of the two sexes. The histolocalization of EherOBP1 and EherOBP2 transcripts in antennae also showed a sexual dimorphism in the chemoreception system, with different expression sites in the antennal segments between males and females, occurring predominantly at the base of the sensillum. The implications of these findings for stink bug chemoreception are discussed.

Abstract
Although modulation of the activity of voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) by protein kinase A (PKA) phosphorylation has been investigated in multiple preparations, the pharmacological sensitivity of VGSCs to scorpion toxins after PKA phosphorylation has rarely been approached. In this study, the effects of BmK AS, a sodium channel-specific modulator from Chinese scorpion Buthus martensi Karsch, on the voltage-dependent activation and inactivation of Nav1.2 were examined before and after PKA activation. After PKA phosphorylation, the pattern of dose-dependent modulation of BmK AS, on both Nav1.2α and Nav1.2 (α + β1) was reshaped. Meanwhile, the shifts in voltage-dependency of activation and inactivation induced by BmK AS were attenuated. The results suggested that PKA might play a role in different patterns how β-like toxins such as BmK AS modulate gating properties and peak currents of VGSCs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There are controversies about the use of artificial colloids. This research was aimed to determine the effect of various artificial colloids on blood coagulation in the shock stage of severe burn injury. METHODS Totally, 18 female Ba-Ma mini-pigs were subjected to a 40% total body surface third-degree flame burn under anesthesia. Resuscitation therapy was applied 2 hours after the injury, using the burn shock fluid resuscitation formula commonly accepted in the surgical treatment of burns. The Ba-Ma mini-pigs were randomly assigned to three groups (six pigs in each group): succinylated gelatin group (the artificial colloid used was succinylated gelatin Injection), hydroxyethyl starch group (the artificial colloid used was hydroxyethyl starch (130/0.4)), and allogeneic plasma group (the colloid used was allogeneic plasma). Blood samples were collected from the animals prior to the burn injury and again at intervals of 4, 8, 24 and 48 hours post-injury. The platelet count (PLT), prothrombin time (PT), international normalized ratio (INR), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), and fibrinogen (Fib) were measured, followed by a statistical analysis of all results. RESULTS The PLT of succinylated gelatin group and hydroxyethyl starch group at intervals of 24 and 48 hours were (124.3 ± 52.7), (78.8 ± 16.4) × 10(9)/L and (159.0 ± 62.8), (87.3 ± 32.0)× 10(9)/L respectively. But in the allogeneic plasma group at intervals of 8, 24, and 48 hours were (234.3 ± 52.6), (136.0 ± 47.4), (75.8 ± 31.0) × 10(9)/L. The decrease were all statistically significant (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) when compared to pre-burn ((383.3 ± 77.9), (382.7 ± 65.7), (381.0 ± 49.4)× 10(9)/L). The PLT among the three groups, at all the time points, had no statistical difference (P > 0.05). Compared to pre-burn ((10.8 ± 0.9), (11.4 ± 0.8), (10.6 ± 0.7) seconds), the PT of succinylated gelatin group and hydroxyethyl starch group at 24 hours were (14.5 ± 1.5) and (16.2 ± 1.3) seconds, whereas in the allogeneic plasma group at 8 and 24 hours the PT were (13.0 ± 0.9) and (14.5 ± 1.5) seconds, i.e., an increase in the statistical significance (P > 0.01). Statistical significance was observed at 8 and 48 hours between the succinylated gelatin group and hydroxyethyl starch group, and at 48 hours between the hydroxyethyl starch and allogeneic plasma group (P < 0.05). The INR at 24 hours were (1.26 ± 0.13) in the succinylated gelatin group, (1.40 ± 0.11) in the hydroxyethyl starch group, and (1.13 ± 0.07) and (1.26 ± 0.13) at 8 and 24 hours in the allogeneic plasma group. When compared with pre-burn ((0.94 ± 0.08), (0.99 ± 0.07), and (0.92 ± 0.06) seconds), the other groups have increased significantly (P > 0.01). The comparison at 8 and 48 hours between the succinylated gelatin group and the hydroxyethyl starch group, at 48 hours between hydroxyethyl starch group and allogeneic plasma group showed statistical difference (P < 0.01). The APTT of succinylated gelatin group and hydroxyethyl starch group at 24 hours were (13.1 ± 1.1) and (14.6 ± 2.9) seconds. The APTT of the allogeneic plasma group at 4, 8 and 24 hours were (10.9 ± 1.4), (11.8 ± 1.1), and (13.7 ± 1.5) seconds. Compared to pre-burn ((11.5 ± 4.2), (11.2 ± 3.3), (10.1 ± 1.4) seconds), they were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in the APTT between the three groups, at all the time points. The Fib of the succinylated gelatin group at 24 and 48 hours were (4.3 ± 0.3) and (4.7 ± 0.2) g/L, (4.1 ± 0.3), and (5.0 ± 0.1) g/L in allogeneic plasma group, and at 8, 24, and 48 hours the Fib for the hydroxyethyl starch group was (2.9 ± 0.4), (4.0 ± 0.5), and (4.6 ± 0.6) g/L. Compared to pre-burn ((2.4 ± 0.2), (2.5 ± 0.3), (2.6 ± 0.5) g/L), they were all statistically significant (P < 0.01). There was no statistical difference in APTT between the three groups, at all time points. CONCLUSION The changes of the indices in blood coagulation during the shock phase of a severe burn injury correlate with the stress response to the burn, rather than to the application of HES (130/0.4) and succinylated gelatin.

Abstract
In order to further predict the epidemic trend and develop vaccines for 2009 H1N1 virus, we monitored its epitopes and molecular pathogenic characteristics during the epidemic process. We also analyzed the similarity of antigenic and genetic characteristics among the novel 2009 H1N1, representative seasonal H1N1 strains, and vaccine strains. 2009 H1N1 isolates had high similarity of hemagglutinin (HA) antigenic sites with H1N1 viruses isolated before 1940 and up to 80.0% similarity with 1918 H1N1. The elderly people born before 1940 have relatively low 2009 H1N1 infection rate, which might be responsible for their previous infection with either 1918 H1N1 virus or an early progeny. Compared to seasonal H1N1 vaccine strains from 1999 to 2010, the HA, neuraminidase (NA), and nucleoprotein (NP) proteins of the isolates had highly conserved CTL epitopes (60.5-65.8%, 69.6-82.6%, and 76.7%, respectively). The seriousness and mortality rate of 2009 H1N1 infections were similar to seasonal influenza, which may be related to the molecular characteristics of low toxicity of 2009 H1N1 and cross-T-cell immunity, due to vaccination or exposure to seasonal H1N1 virus. Some strains of 2009 H1N1 acquired mutations at antigenic and glycosylation sites. It is of particular interest that Haishu/SWL110/10 and Beijing/SE2649/09, isolated after November 2009, gained a new glycosylation site at the position 179 of HA protein, near the RBD. Thus, in the future, vaccination with glycosylated 2009 H1N1 virus may prevent the seasonal epidemic caused by strains with glycosylation site mutation near the receptor binding domain (RBD).

Dissecting prenatal, postnatal, and inherited effects: ART and design. Genet Epidemiol 2011; 35:437-46. Abstract
With the failure of common variants alone to explain the bulk of trait heritability, it becomes more important to understand the contribution of maternally inherited effects, prenatal effects, and postnatal environmental effects. These effects can be disentangled by studying families containing children conceived by assisted reproductive technologies (ART). We propose and develop a model that is an extension of the variance component model commonly used in pedigree analysis. Our model is flexible enough to allow any number of family members and degrees of relationship; thus, researchers can use both small and extended families simultaneously. Simulations demonstrate that our method has appropriate statistical properties and is robust to model misspecification and accurate in the presence of missing data. Most importantly, our method is able to disentangle maternally inherited effects from prenatal effects, which are confounded in traditional family studies. Our analyses also provide guidance to researchers designing studies that will use ART families to clarify genetic and environmental factors underlying traits.
