First Observation of Λπ^{+} and Λπ^{-} Signals near the K[over ¯]N(I=1) Mass Threshold in Λ_{c}^{+}→Λπ^{+}π^{+}π^{-} Decay. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:151903. Abstract
Using the data sample of 980 fb^{-1} collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider, we present the results of an investigation of the Λπ^{+} and Λπ^{-} invariant mass distributions looking for substructure in the decay Λ_{c}^{+}→Λπ^{+}π^{+}π^{-}. We find a significant signal in each mass distribution. When interpreted as resonances, we find for the Λπ^{+} (Λπ^{-}) combination a mass of 1434.3±0.6(stat)±0.9(syst) MeV/c^{2} [1438.5±0.9(stat)±2.5(syst) MeV/c^{2}], an intrinsic width of 11.5±2.8(stat)±5.3(syst) MeV/c^{2} [33.0±7.5(stat)±23.6(syst) MeV/c^{2}] with a significance of 7.5σ (6.2σ). As these two signals are very close to the K[over ¯]N threshold, we also investigate the possibility of a K[over ¯]N cusp, and find that we cannot discriminate between these two interpretations due to the limited size of the data sample.

Search for a Light Higgs Boson in Single-Photon Decays of ϒ(1S) Using ϒ(2S)→π^{+}π^{-}ϒ(1S) Tagging Method. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:081804. Abstract
We search for a light Higgs boson (A^{0}) decaying into a τ^{+}τ^{-} or μ^{+}μ^{-} pair in the radiative decays of ϒ(1S). The production of ϒ(1S) mesons is tagged by ϒ(2S)→π^{+}π^{-}ϒ(1S) transitions, using 158×10^{6} ϒ(2S) events accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. No significant A^{0} signals in the mass range from the τ^{+}τ^{-} or μ^{+}μ^{-} threshold to 9.2 GeV/c^{2} are observed. We set the upper limits at 90% credibility level (C.L.) on the product branching fractions for ϒ(1S)→γA^{0} and A^{0}→τ^{+}τ^{-} varying from 3.8×10^{-6} to 1.5×10^{-4}. Our results represent an approximately twofold improvement on the current world best upper limits for the ϒ(1S)→γA^{0}(→τ^{+}τ^{-}) production. For A^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-}, the upper limits on the product branching fractions for ϒ(1S)→γA^{0} and A^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} are at the same level as the world average limits, and vary from 3.1×10^{-7} to 1.6×10^{-5}. The upper limits at 90% credibility level on the Yukawa coupling f_{ϒ(1S)} and mixing angle sinθ_{A^{0}} are also given.

Abstract
We report a measurement of the D^{0} and D^{+} lifetimes using D^{0}→K^{-}π^{+} and D^{+}→K^{-}π^{+}π^{+} decays reconstructed in e^{+}e^{-}→cc[over ¯] data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. The data, collected at center-of-mass energies at or near the ϒ(4S) resonance, correspond to an integrated luminosity of 72 fb^{-1}. The results, τ(D^{0})=410.5±1.1(stat)±0.8(syst) fs and τ(D^{+})=1030.4±4.7(stat)±3.1(syst) fs, are the most precise to date and are consistent with previous determinations.

Abstract
Using data samples of 89.5 and 711 fb^{-1} recorded at energies of sqrt[s]=10.52 and 10.58 GeV, respectively, with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider, we report measurements of branching fractions of semileptonic decays Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}ℓ^{+}ν_{ℓ} (ℓ=e or μ) and the CP-asymmetry parameter of Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+} decay. The branching fractions are measured to be B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e})=(1.31±0.04±0.07±0.38)% and B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ})=(1.27±0.06±0.10±0.37)%, and the decay parameter α_{Ξπ} is measured to be 0.63±0.03±0.01 with much improved precision compared with the current world average. The corresponding ratio B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e})/B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ}) is 1.03±0.05±0.07, which is consistent with the expectation of lepton flavor universality. The first measured asymmetry parameter A_{CP}=(α_{Ξ^{-}π^{+}}+α_{Ξ[over ¯]^{+}π^{-}})/(α_{Ξ^{-}π^{+}}-α_{Ξ[over ¯]^{+}π^{-}})=0.024±0.052±0.014 is found to be consistent with zero. The first and the second uncertainties above are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise due to the uncertainty of the Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+} branching fraction.

Abstract
We report the first evidence for X(3872) production in two-photon interactions by tagging either the electron or the positron in the final state, exploring the highly virtual photon region. The search is performed in e^{+}e^{-}→e^{+}e^{-}J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}, using 825 fb^{-1} of data collected by the Belle detector operated at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider. We observe three X(3872) candidates, where the expected background is 0.11±0.10 events, with a significance of 3.2σ. We obtain an estimated value for Γ[over ˜]_{γγ}B(X(3872)→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}) assuming the Q^{2} dependence predicted by a cc[over ¯] meson model, where -Q^{2} is the invariant mass squared of the virtual photon. No X(3915)→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-} candidates are found.

Observation of the Radiative Decays of ϒ(1S) to χ_{c1}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2020; 124:122001. Abstract
We report the first observation of the radiative decay of the ϒ(1S) into a charmonium state. The significance of the observed signal of ϒ(1S)→γχ_{c1} is 6.3 standard deviations including systematics. The branching fraction is calculated to be B[ϒ(1S)→γχ_{c1}]=[4.7_{-1.8}^{+2.4}(stat)_{-0.5}^{+0.4}(sys)×10^{-5}]. We also searched for ϒ(1S) radiative decays into χ_{c0,2} and η_{c}(1S,2S), and set upper limits on their branching fractions. These results are obtained from a 24.9 fb^{-1} data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider at a center-of-mass energy equal to the ϒ(2S) mass using ϒ(1S) tagging by the ϒ(2S)→ϒ(1S)π^{+}π^{-} transitions.

Abstract
In experiments 1 and 2, effect of ingestion of maltobionic acid calcium salt (MBCa) on recovery of rats from a latent iron deficiency and from iron deficiency anemia was examined, respectively. After grouping rats into control and iron-deficiency groups, a latent iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia was induced in the latter group. And recovery from these states by MBCa containing diets (0%, 3%, and 6% MBCa in diet, classified into MBCa-0, MBCa-3, and MBCa-6 groups) was compared for convalescence period in light of iron sufficient control group. In experiment 1, MBCa ingestion significantly increased the iron concentration in the serum and liver, and promoted recovery from a latent iron deficiency. In experiment 2, hemoglobin and hematocrit levels increased significantly with MBCa intake, and recovery from iron-deficiency anemia was promoted. MBCa effectively promoted the recovery of rats from a subclinical iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia.Abbreviations: ANOVA: analysis of variance; DMT1: divalent metal transporter 1; EDTA-2Na: disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid; Fpn: feroportin; Hb: hemoglobin; Ht: hematocrit; ICP-OES: inductivity coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer; MBCa: maltobionic acid calcium salt; nitroso-PSAP: 2-nitroso-5-[N-n-propyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)amino]phenol; SE: standard error; SI: serum-iron concentration; TSAT: transferrin saturation; TIBC: total iron-binding capacity; UIBC: unsaturated iron-binding capacity.

Abstract
We report the results of a search for the rare, purely leptonic decay B^{-}→μ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} performed with a 711 fb^{-1} data sample that contains 772×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs, collected near the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. The signal events are selected based on the presence of a high momentum muon and the topology of the rest of the event showing properties of a generic B-meson decay, as well as the missing energy and momentum being consistent with the hypothesis of a neutrino from the signal decay. We find a 2.4 standard deviation excess above background including systematic uncertainties, which corresponds to a branching fraction of B(B^{-}→μ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ})=(6.46±2.22±1.60)×10^{-7} or a frequentist 90% confidence level interval on the B^{-}→μ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} branching fraction of [2.9,10.7]×10^{-7}.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pediatric living donor liver transplant (LDLT) patients sometimes develop graft fibrosis after non-recurrent diseases such as biliary atresia (BA). Donor-specific antibodies (DSA) have recently been shown to play a possible role in graft damage after liver transplantation. We report the impact of DSA on pediatric LDLT for BA patients. METHODS Patients under age 18 years who received LDLT for BA at our institution and who had at least 5 years' follow-up were identified, and 23 were eventually enrolled in this study. Pathological findings were assessed with the use of the last available biopsy. Patients were divided into 2 groups, DSA-positive and DSA-negative. Graft fibrosis after LDLT was assessed according to DSA groups. RESULTS The mean patient age at transplant was 2.6 years. The mean time to the last available biopsy after LDLT was 8.2 years (4.8-15.6 years); 6 patients (26%) showed no fibrosis, whereas fibrosis was graded as F1, F2, or F3 in 8 patients (35%), 8 patients (35%), and 1 patient, respectively. DSA were observed in 12 patients (52%). Moderate graft fibrosis (F2 and F3) was found in 7 (58%) of the DSA-positive group, but only 2 (18%) of the DSA-negative group, showing a statistically significant difference (P < .05). Pre-transplant cross-matching was performed in 17 patients. The 2 patients with a positive cross-match were DSA-positive. Six cross-match-negative patients developed de novo DSA after LDLT. CONCLUSIONS Graft fibrosis was observed after LDLT for BA during long-term follow-up, more commonly in DSA-positive patients. DSA may play a role in fibrosis formation.

Abstract
The purpose of this paper has been to review the current status and progress of the field of radiation biophysics, and draw attention to the fact that physics, in general, and radiation physics in particular, with the aid of mathematical modeling, can help elucidate biological mechanisms and cancer therapies. We hypothesize that concepts of condensed-matter physics along with the new genomic knowledge and technologies and mechanistic mathematical modeling in conjunction with advances in experimental DNA (Deoxyrinonucleic acid molecule) repair and cell signaling have now provided us with unprecedented opportunities in radiation biophysics to address problems in targeted cancer therapy, and genetic risk estimation in humans. Obviously, one is not dealing with 'low-hanging fruit', but it will be a major scientific achievement if it becomes possible to state, in another decade or so, that we can link mechanistically the stages between the initial radiation-induced DNA damage; in particular, at doses of radiation less than 2 Gy and with structural changes in genomic DNA as a precursor to cell inactivation and/or mutations leading to genetic diseases. The paper presents recent development in the physics of radiation track structure contained in the computer code system KURBUC, in particular for low-energy electrons in the condensed phase of water for which we provide a comprehensive discussion of the dielectric response function approach. The state-of-the-art in the simulation of proton and carbon ion tracks in the Bragg peak region is also presented. The paper presents a critical discussion of the models used for elastic scattering, and the validity of the trajectory approach in low-electron transport. Brief discussions of mechanistic and quantitative aspects of microdosimetry, DNA damage and DNA repair are also included as developed by the authors' work.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hypercalcemia has been observed in patients after liver transplantation. However, it is rare that the hypercalcemia induced disseminated tissue calcification and heart failure. CASE REPORT We report a rare case of heart failure caused by disseminated metastatic tissue calcification that involved extensive progressive myocardial calcification after liver transplantation. A 20-year-old man with end-stage liver disease due to biliary atresia underwent ABO-incompatible living donor liver transplantation. After successful transplantation, he suffered from antibody-mediated rejection. Subsequently, ABO-matched cadaveric liver retransplantation was successfully performed. Hypercalcemia developed gradually following the second transplantation. His serum calcium level increased to 18.3 mg/dL with sudden onset of ventricular tachycardia. Although he was resuscitated with a cardiopulmonary support device, he died of heart and liver failure. Histopathologic examination revealed systemic disseminated metastatic tissue calcification, including massive myocardial calcification. CONCLUSION Progressive worsening of hypercalcemia resulted in disseminated metastatic tissue calcification and massive metastatic myocardial calcification, which led to heart failure after liver transplantation. Because hypercalcemia after liver transplantation can cause fatal tissue calcification, early intervention for hypercalcemia should be considered.

Microdosimetry of the full slowing down of protons using Monte Carlo track structure simulations. RADIATION PROTECTION DOSIMETRY 2015; 166:29-33. Abstract
The article investigates two approaches in microdosimetric calculations based on Monte Carlo track structure (MCTS) simulations of a 160-MeV proton beam. In the first approach, microdosimetric parameters of the proton beam were obtained using the weighted sum of proton energy distributions and microdosimetric parameters of proton track segments (TSMs). In the second approach, phase spaces of energy depositions obtained using MCTS simulations in the full slowing down (FSD) mode were used for the microdosimetric calculations. Targets of interest were water cylinders of 2.3-100 nm in diameters and heights. Frequency-averaged lineal energies ([Formula: see text]) obtained using both approaches agreed within the statistical uncertainties. Discrepancies beyond this level were observed for dose-averaged lineal energies ([Formula: see text]) towards the Bragg peak region due to the small number of proton energies used in the TSM approach and different energy deposition patterns in the TSM and FSD of protons.

Search for the dark photon and the dark Higgs boson at belle. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2015; 114:211801. Abstract
The dark photon A^{'} and the dark Higgs boson h^{'} are hypothetical constituents featured in a number of recently proposed dark sector models. Assuming prompt decays of both dark particles, we search for their production in the so-called Higgstrahlung channel e^{+}e^{-}→A^{'}h^{'}, with h^{'}→A^{'}A^{'}. We investigate ten exclusive final states with A^{'}→e^{+}e^{-}, μ^{+}μ^{-}, or π^{+}π^{-} in the mass ranges 0.1 GeV/c^{2} <m_{A^{'}}<3.5 GeV/c^{2} and 0.2 GeV/c^{2} <m_{h^{'}}<10.5 GeV/c^{2}. We also investigate three inclusive final states 2(e^{+}e^{-})X, 2(μ^{+}μ^{-})X, and (e^{+}e^{-})(μ^{+}μ^{-})X, where X denotes a dark photon candidate detected via missing mass, in the mass ranges 1.1 GeV/c^{2} <m_{A^{'}}<3.5 GeV/c^{2} and 2.2 GeV/c^{2} <m_{h^{'}}<10.5 GeV/c^{2}. Using the entire 977 fb^{-1} data set collected by Belle, we observe no significant signal. We obtain individual and combined 90% credibility level upper limits on the branching fraction times the Born cross section, B×σ_{Born}, on the Born cross section σ_{Born}, and on the dark photon coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}×ε^{2}. These limits improve upon and cover wider mass ranges than previous experiments. The limits from the final states 3(π^{+}π^{-}) and 2(e^{+}e^{-})X are the first placed by any experiment. For α_{D} equal to 1/137, m_{h^{'}}< 8 GeV/c^{2}, and m_{A^{'}}<1 GeV/c^{2}, we exclude values of the mixing parameter ε above ∼8×10^{-4}.

Abstract
The e(+)e(-) → π(+)π(-)π(0)χ(bJ) (J = 0,1,2) processes are studied using a 118 fb(-1) data sample acquired with the Belle detector at a center-of-mass energy of 10.867 GeV. Unambiguous π(+)π(-)π(0)χ(bJ) (J = 1,2), ωχ(b1) signals are observed, and indication for ωχ(b2) is seen, both for the first time, and the corresponding cross section measurements are presented. No significant π(+)π(-)π(0)χ(b0) or ωχ(b0) signals are observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the cross sections for these two processes are obtained. In the π(+)π(-)π(0) invariant mass spectrum, significant non-ω signals are also observed. We search for the X(3872)-like state (named X(b)) decaying into ωϒ(1S); no significant signal is observed with a mass between 10.55 and 10.65 GeV/c(2).

Abstract
We present the first model-independent measurement of the absolute branching fraction of the Λ(c)(+) → pK(-)π(+) decay using a data sample of 978 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. The number of Λ(c)(+) baryons is determined by reconstructing the recoiling D((*)-) pπ(+) system in events of the type e(+)e(-) → D((*)-) pπ(+)Λ(c)(+). The branching fraction is measured to be B(Λ(c)(+) → pK(-)π(+)) = (6.84 ± 0.24(-0.27)(+0.21))%, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.

Abstract
We observe D(0)-D(0) mixing in the decay D(0) → K+π- using a data sample of integrated luminosity 976 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. We measure the mixing parameters x'(2) = (0.09 ± 0.22) × 10(-3) and y'=(4.6 ± 3.4) × 10(-3) and the ratio of doubly Cabibbo-suppressed to Cabibbo-favored decay rates R(D) = (3.53 ± 0.13) × 10(-3), where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic combined. Our measurement excludes the no-mixing hypothesis at the 5.1 standard deviation level.

Abstract
The lifetime of the τ lepton is measured using the process e+ e- → τ+ τ- , where both τ leptons decay to 3πν(τ). The result for the mean lifetime, based on 711 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the ϒ(4S) resonance and 60 MeV below, is τ=(290.17±0.53(stat)±0.33(syst))×10(-15) s. The first measurement of the lifetime difference between τ+ and τ- is performed. The upper limit on the relative lifetime difference between positive and negative τ leptons is |Δτ|/τ<7.0×10(-3) at 90% C.L.

Abstract
We search for bottomonium states in Υ(2S) → (bb)γ decays with an integrated luminosity of 24.7 fb(-1) recorded at the Υ(2S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEK, containing (157.8±3.6)×10(6) Υ(2S) events. The (bb) system is reconstructed in 26 exclusive hadronic final states composed of charged pions, kaons, protons, and K(S)(0) mesons. We find no evidence for the state recently observed around 9975 MeV (X(bb)) in an analysis based on a data sample of 9.3×10(6) Υ(2S) events collected with the CLEO III detector. We set a 90% confidence level upper limit on the branching fraction B[Υ(2S) → X(bb)γ] × ∑(i)B[X(bb) → h(i)] < 4.9×10(-6), summed over the exclusive hadronic final states employed in our analysis. This result is an order of magnitude smaller than the measurement reported with CLEO data. We also set an upper limit for the ηb(1S) state of B[Υ(2S) → ηb(1S)γ] × ∑(i)B[ηb(1S) → h(i)] < 3.7×10(-6).

Abstract
We report measurements of B→χ(c1)γK and χ(c2)γK decays using 772×10(6) BB[over ¯] events collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. Evidence of a new resonance in the χ(c1)γ final state is found with a statistical significance of 3.8σ. This state has a mass of 3823.1±1.8(stat)±0.7(syst) MeV/c(2), a value that is consistent with theoretical expectations for the previously unseen 1(3)D(2) cc[over ¯] meson. We find no other narrow resonance and set upper limits on the branching fractions of the X(3872)→χ(c1)γ and χ(c2)γ decays.
