Abstract
Recently, there has been a tendency for the growth of dentognathic deformities of various origins, accompanied by phonetic abnormalities. Aim - to increase the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment of dentognathic deformities, accompanied by phonetic disorders, by developing and justifying a set of diagnostic and therapeutic measures based on a multidisciplinary approach. The influence of the state of ENT organs on the formation of dentognathic deformities and phonetic disturbances is studied in 155 children. A clinical dental examination and orthodontic treatment is performed in 82 patients aged 6-12 years. Individual corrective speech therapy work has been carried out to overcome the defects of the phonological side of speech. A certain pathological "chain" of cause-effect relationships of dentognathic deformities with phonetic disorders and diseases of the ENT organs became the basis for a multidisciplinary approach to solving the problems identified. The qualitative and quantitative dependence of sound deterioration on the type of orthognathic deformities is established. A complex of diagnostic and therapeutic measures for patients with dental deformities accompanied by phonetic disorders, consisting of motivational, diagnostic and therapeutic blocks, has been developed and introduced into practice. The proposed complex of diagnostic and treatment measures made it possible to increase the efficiency of orthodontic treatment of children with dentognathic deformities with disturbances of sound pronunciation depending on the type of bite by means of a multidisciplinary approach involving an otolaryngologist, speech therapist, children's therapist and surgeon, which was confirmed in 86.6% of patients by the improvement of electromyography, anthropometric measurements of scanned models of jaws, cephalometry; the analysis of cone-beam computed tomography data showed a significant increase in the upper respiratory tract volume by 53.8±4.2%.

Abstract
In orthodontic practice, removable orthodontic devices are used to treat anomalies and deformations of the dentoalveolar apparatus during the period of the transition occlusion. The creation of new orthodontic appliances or the modification of existing appliances is actual today. The aim is to create easy-to-use therapeutical-prophilaxis orthodontic appliances that can be used to treat open bite and anomalies of the individual teeth position. The mechanism of action of the proposed appliance by P. Flis - V. Filonenko for the treatment of open bite (Ukraine's declarative patent No. 69548 for the utility model A61C7 / 00) is to expand the dentition; stimulation of growth of the apical bases of the jaws by moving the upper frontal teeth orally; correction of the tooth-alveolar height; normalization of the position of tongue. The clinical experience of the use of the orthodontic apparatus by P. Flis - V. Filonenko pointed to the drawbacks of its use in the case of retrusion or normal torque of upper frontal teeth. This goal is achieved by introducing into the design a lingual arc and lip bumper (Ukraine's declarative patent No. 115089 for the utility model A61C7 / 00). Orthodontic appliances of P. Flis - V. Filonenko and P. Flis - O.Tsyzh - V. Filonenko are advisable to use for the treatment and prevention of dentoalveolar anomalies and deformations, in particular, open bite and anomalies of individual teeth position. Conducted clinical studies indicate the feasibility of widespread introduction of appliances in orthodontic practice.

Abstract
Transposition of teeth - mutual exchange of the teeth position in the dental arch, it's a rare anomaly of the dentoalveolar apparatus. Most often in the transposition process the upper canines are involved in combination with the first premolars. Anomaly is mainly caused by an incorrect location of the teeth germs. Full correction is optimal in the treatment of transposition in terms of function and aesthetics, but in most cases, the movement of these teeth in their physiological position is impossible. Aim - to define and argue the tactics of the orthodontist in the treatment of patients with teeth transposition. The algorithm for curation of patients with teeth transposition consisted of several blocks: the establishment of etiologic factors, clinical and additional examination methods, planning and making treatment tactics, the stages of active treatment and management of the patient in the retention period. Among additional methods of examination were used: orthopantomography, 3D computer tomography, photometry, anthropometry. For a visual demonstration of orthodontic treatment, an curation algorithm of two patients with a teeth transposition was described. The choice of treatment options depended on the location and type of transposition (full or partial), the age of the patient, the condition of the periodontal tissue, the size of the teeth and their roots, the degree of tooth dislocation and root inclination, the type of occlusion, the bone thickness in the region of alveolar process, the level of cooperation between the patient and the doctor. Knowledge of the treatment tactics of patients with teeth transposition allows the orthodontist to normalize the individual teeth position, restore function and aesthetics in an optimal time. After our patient's treatment, positive esthetic, morphological and functional results were achieved.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Early elimination of dentoalveolar apparatus orthodontic disorders is the dominant concept in the treatment technique. AIM to present a sagittal anomalies treatment algorithm, of Class III particularly, in the transitional bite period by the proposed design of individual orthodontic devices with a movable ramp. The treatment algorithm consisted of several blocks: the motivation, the etiological factors establishment, the plan and treatment tactics creation basing on careful diagnosis, the stages of the active period of treatment and the patient management in the retention period. Anthropometric measurements of the maxilla and mandible models were performed to determine the degree of dental arches development. The length of the dental arches was determined on the models by the Nance method in combination with the Huckaba method and the sagital dimensions by the Mirgasizov's method. The leading role in the patients examination was taken by lateral cephalograms analyzing using the Sassouni Plus method. The proposed construction of an orthodontic appliance consists of a plastic base, a vestibular arc, retaining clasps and a ramp, which is connected with a base with two torsion springs. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed construction, an example of the patient Y. treatment of at the age of 6 years 9 months is presented. After the treatment, positive morphological, functional and aesthetic changes were established. The usage of proposed orthodontic appliance with movable ramp allows to start orthodontic treatment at early age, increases its effectiveness and reduce the number of complications. The expediency of stage-by-stage treatment is approved by a positive results of such method. To achieve stable results, it is important to individualize their prognosis even at the planning stage of orthodontic treatment.

Abstract
AIM To study the expression profile of the NaPi2b protein and its localization in breast, ovarian and lung cancer cells in relation to normal tissues adjacent to tumor. METHODS Immunohistochemical analysis with monoclonal antibody MX35 was applied for investigation of NaPi2b protein expression in breast, lung and ovarian carcinomas. Intensity of NaPi2b protein expression was calculated with semiquantitative scores. RESULTS NaPi2b (MX35) protein expression was detected in breast, lung and ovarian cancer cells and adjacent normal tissue. We have shown that in contrast to ovarian tumors in breast and lung tumors NaPi2b expression is down regulated comparing to correspondent normal tissues. CONCLUSION This study provides the data on the pattern of NaPi2b expression and cellular localization in breast, lung and ovarian cancers, which might be useful for understanding the mechanism of transport and maintenance of inorganic phosphate in cancer and normal cells, as well as for developing novel immunotherapeutic approaches based on MX35 monoclonal antibody.

Abstract
AIM The main purpose of this study was to estimate the SLC34A2 gene expression in normal ovary and different types of ovarian tumors. METHODS We have investigated SLC34A2 gene expression level in papillary serous, endometrioid, unspecified adenocarcinomas, benign tumors, and normal ovarian tissues using real-time PCR analysis. Differences in gene expression were calculated as fold changes in gene expression in ovarian carcinomas and benign tumors compared to normal ovary. RESULTS We have found that SLC34A2 gene was highly expressed in well-differentiated endometrioid and papillary serous ovarian carcinomas compared to low-differentiated endometrioid carcinomas, benign serous cystoadenomas and normal ovary. Analysis of SLC34A2 gene expression according to tumor differentiation level (poor- and well-differentiated) showed that SLC34A2 is up-regulated in well differentiated tumors. CONCLUSION Upregulation of SLC34A2 gene expression in well-differentiated tumors may reflect cell differentiation processes during ovarian cancerogenesis and could serve as potential marker for ovarian cancer diagnosis and prognosis.

Abstract
ABSTRACTCompacts of polycrystalline diamond were made in toroid-type high-pressure camera under the pressure of 8 GPa using temperatures between 800 to 2150°C without the use of additive components. Nanocrystalline commercial DALAN, and microcrystalline ASM diamond powders were used. The compacts were characterized by helium pycnometry, Vickers hardness measurements, X-ray diffraction and SEM methods. The starting and sintered nanocrystalline grain compacts were found to have strongly one-dimensionally disordered cubic modification. The nanocrystalline powder had a bimodal grain size distribution function as determined from X-ray diffraction data and ab initio intensity calculations performed with the use of Debye functions. It was found that neither the grain size nor one-dimensional disordering change under high-pressure high-temperature conditions. There is a general tendency in a decrease of density of compacts with increase in the sintering temperature what resulting partly from graphitization above 1000–1200°C. The main factor which determines the density of the diamond compacts is closed porosity. Typically, the nanocrystalline diamond compacts sintered from 30 sec. to 6 min. have densities around 90% of the theoretical value. Their Vickers microhardness is 24 GPa and less.

Abstract
PTEN is a tumor suppressor with dual protein and lipid-phosphatase activity, which is frequently deleted or mutated in many human advanced cancers. Recent studies have also demonstrated that PTEN is a promising target in type II diabetes and obesity treatment. Using C-terminal PTEN sequence in pEG202-NLS as bait, yeast two-hybrid screening on Mouse Embryo, Colon Cancer, and HeLa cDNA libraries was carried out. Isolated positive clones were validated by mating assay and identified through automated DNA sequencing and BLAST database searches. Sequence analysis revealed a number of PTEN-binding proteins linking this phosphatase to a number of different signaling cascades, suggesting that PTEN may perform other functions besides tumor-suppressing activity in different cell types. In particular, the interplay between PTEN function and adipocyte-specific fatty-acid-binding protein FABP4 is of notable interest. The demonstrable tautology of PTEN to FABP4 suggested a role for this phosphatase in the regulation of lipid metabolism and adipocyte differentiation. This interaction was further studied using coimmunoprecipitation and gel-filtration assays. Finally, based on Biacore assay, we have calculated the K(D) of PTEN-FABP4 complex, which is around 2.8 microM.

Abstract
UNLABELLED The identification of markers that are specifically expressed by different histological types of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) may lead to the development of novel and more specific diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Sodium-dependent phosphate transporter NaPi2b (or MX35 ovarian cancer antigen) is a novel perspective marker of EOC. To date, the studies on NaPi2b/MX35 expression in different histological types of EOC are limited. AIM To examine NaPi2b/MX35 expression in different histological types of epithelial ovarian tumors. METHODS Here, we describe the analysis of NaPi2b expression in serous (n = 17), endometrioid (n = 8), and mucinous ovarian tumors (n = 3) by Western-blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. RESULTS The results of immunohistochemical and WB analysis showed that benign and well-differentiated malignant papillary serous tumors as well as well-differentiated malignant endometriod tumors overexpress NaPi2b protein. However, no overexpression of NaPi2b was detected in benign and malignant mucinous tumors as well as in poorly differentiated endometriod tumors. Notably, the expression NaPi2b mRNA was detected in all investigated histological types of EOC. CONCLUSION We have shown the differential expression profile of NaPi2b phosphate transporter at protein level in various histological types of epithelial ovarian cancer. This finding might facilitate the development of more effective approaches for diagnosis and treatment of this disease.

Abstract
Class I(A) phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI 3-kinase) is a key component of important intracellular signalling cascades. We have identified an adaptor protein, Ruk(l), which forms complexes with the PI 3-kinase holoenzyme in vitro and in vivo. This interaction involves the proline-rich region of Ruk and the SH3 domain of the p85 alpha regulatory subunit of the class I(A) PI 3-kinase. In contrast to many other adaptor proteins that activate PI 3-kinase, interaction with Ruk(l) substantially inhibits the lipid kinase activity of the enzyme. Overexpression of Ruk(l) in cultured primary neurons induces apoptosis, an effect that could be reversed by co-expression of constitutively activated forms of the p110 alpha catalytic subunit of PI 3-kinase or its downstream effector PKB/Akt. Our data provide evidence for the existence of a negative regulator of the PI 3-kinase signalling pathway that is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Structural similarities between Ruk, CIN85 and CD2AP/CMS suggest that these proteins form a novel family of adaptor molecules that are involved in various intracellular signalling pathways.

Molecular cloning and characterization of a novel p70 S6 kinase, p70 S6 kinase beta containing a proline-rich region. J Biol Chem 1998; 273:30061-4. Abstract
A novel ribosomal S6 kinase, termed p70 S6 kinase beta (p70beta), which has a highly conserved amino acid sequence compared with that of p70/p85 S6 kinase (p70alpha) within the catalytic, kinase extension, and autoinhibitory pseudosubstrate domains, was identified. However, the amino acid sequence of p70beta differs from that of p70alpha in the noncatalytic amino-terminal region and in the carboxyl-terminal tail, which contains a proline-rich region. The majority of the regulatory phosphorylation sites identified in p70alpha are conserved in p70beta. Two isoforms of p70beta, referred to as beta1 (495 amino acids) and beta2 (482 amino acids), could be expressed from the single gene either by alternative mRNA splicing or by the use of alternative start codons. Here we report the characterization of p70beta2. Similarly to p70alpha, the catalytic activity of p70beta toward ribosomal protein S6 could be rapidly activated by serum, insulin, and phorbol ester in transiently transfected cells. The p70beta kinase was found to be significantly less sensitive to wortmannin and rapamycin than p70alpha. These results indicate that p70beta has the potential to participate in the regulation of protein synthesis and the cell cycle.
