Abstract
AIM To investigate the seizure course of PCDH19 clustering epilepsy (PCDH19-CE) in a cohort of female children in China. METHOD This ambidirectional cohort study examined 113 female patients with PCDH19-CE through multicentre collaboration. Prognostic factors for seizure freedom were evaluated by multivariate Cox regression analysis. RESULTS The median seizure course period from seizure onset was 6 years 6 months. Of 113 patients, 78% and 56% experienced seizure freedom for at least 1 year and at least 2 years respectively. In patients younger than 5 years (n = 30), 5 to 10 years (n = 52), and older than 10 years (n = 31), 57%, 81%, and 94% experienced at least 1 year of seizure freedom, and 32%, 52%, and 84% experienced at least 2 years of seizure freedom, respectively. However, 58% (65 out of 113) relapsed at least once after more than 1 year of seizure freedom without trigger exposure (40%) or because of common triggers, including fever (43%) and antiseizure medication (ASM) reduction (29%). There was an 84% risk of seizure relapse after ASM reduction attempts. The likelihood of seizure freedom decreased with early age at seizure onset and developmental delay. INTERPRETATION Patients with PCDH19-CE exhibit increasing seizure freedom with age, but there is a risk of relapse. ASM reduction in children younger than 10 years old requires caution. Patients with early seizure onset and developmental delay have a reduced chance of seizure freedom. WHAT THIS PAPER ADDS The seizure freedom rate in PCDH19 clustering epilepsy gradually increases with age. The disease course is characterized by relapsing-remitting seizures. Antiseizure medication reduction requires caution for patients younger than 10 years of age. Patients with early seizure onset and developmental delay are less likely to achieve seizure freedom.

Abstract
Objectives: To analyze the clinical characteristics and prognosis of medullary thyroid microcarcinoma (MTMC). Methods: A case series studies. The clinical data of patients with medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) diagnosed by postoperative pathology and with complete follow-up data who were initially treated in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital from January 2013 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. There were a total of 170 cases, including 70 males and 100 females, aged (49.7±12.3) years old. Among them, there were 61 patients with MTMC. They were divided into group A (with a maximum tumor idameter of ≤0.5 cm, n=13) and group B (with a maximum tumor diameter >0.5~≤1.0 cm, n=48) based on whether the maximum diameter of the tumor was >0.5 cm. Analysis was conducted on their pathological results and prognosis. Results: Among the MTC, MTMC accounted for 26.4% (61/231) with 26 males and 35 females aged M[Q1,Q3]51.0 (41.0, 59.0) years. Among the MTMC patients, 57.4% (35/61) were in stage Ⅰ, 16.4% (10/61) were in stage Ⅲ, and 26.2% (16/61) were in stage Ⅳ. For MTMC with a maximum diameter of≤0.5 cm and a maximum diameter of >0.5-≤1.0 cm, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of gender, age, mixed cancer, invasion of glandular lobes, multifocal, central lymph node metastasis, lateral neck lymph node metastasis rate and other pathological characteristics(both P>0.05). In terms of prognosis, the recurrence free survival time of MTMC patients was 83.1 (68.0, 97.0) months. Among them, structural tumor recurrence occurred in 5 patients (8.2%) after surgery, and 1 patient (1.6%) died. The expected 5-year and 10-year survival rates were 93.4% and 89.0%, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in recurrence free survival time among MTMC patients, MTC patients with a maximum diameter of >1.0-≤2.0 cm, and MTC patients with a maximum diameter of >2.0 cm (all P>0.05). Conclusion: MTMC has strong invasiveness, and although the prognosis of most MTMCs is relatively good, the risk of long-term recurrence and death is still high.

Abstract
Synchronously improving the photothermal conversion efficiency and photodynamic activity of organic small molecule photosensitizers is crucial for their further wide application in cancer treatment. Recently, the emerging A-D-A photosensitizer-based phototherapy systems have attracted great interest due to their plentiful inherent merits. Herein, we propose a design strategy for A-D-A photosensitizers with synchronously enhanced photothermal conversion and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation efficiencies. Side chain programming is carried out to design three A-D-A photosensitizers (IDT-H, IDT-Br, IDT-I) containing hexyl, bromohexyl, and iodohexyl side chains, respectively. Theoretical calculations confirm that a bulky iodine atom could weaken the intermolecular π-π stacking and enhance spin-orbit coupling constants of IDT-I. These molecular mechanisms enable IDT-I nanoparticles (NPs) to exhibit 2.4-fold and 1.7-fold higher ROS generation efficiency than that of IDT-H NPs and IDT-Br NPs, respectively, as well as the highest photothermal conversion efficiency. Both the experimental results in vitro and in vivo verify that IDT-I NPs are perfectly qualified for the mission of photothermal and photodynamic synergistic therapy. Therefore, in this contribution, we provide a promising perspective for the design of A-D-A photosensitizers with simultaneously improved photothermal and photodynamic therapy ability.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the medium-term therapeutic effects of Kahook Dual Blade (KDB) goniotomy and Trabectome surgery in the treatment of patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Methods: This study was a non-randomized prospective interventional controlled clinical study. POAG patients who underwent KDB goniotomy or Trabectome surgery at Beijing Tongren Hospital from May 2017 to April 2022 were enrolled. The definition of successful surgery was postoperative average intraocular pressure (IOP)≤21 mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) and IOP decrease≥20%. Follow-up visits were conducted on the 1st day, 1st week, 1st, 3rd and 6th month after surgery. The IOP value, the number of IOP-lowering medications, the proportion of surgical success (average IOP≤21 mmHg at 6 months), and complications were evaluated. Statistical methods included independent sample t-test, Mann-Whitney rank sum test, χ2 test, repeated measures two-factor analysis of variance, Bonferroni, Friedman M test, Wilcoxon, and Log-rank. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the cumulative success rate of each group. Results: Seventeen male patients (17 eyes) and 10 female patients (10 eyes) were included. The mean age was (39.9±17.7) years old. There were 11 patients in the KDB group and 16 patients in the Trabectome group. There was no significant difference in clinical baseline conditions between the two groups (P>0.05). The IOPs in the KDB and Trabectome groups at postoperative 1 week [(16.6±6.3) and (16.4±4.1) mmHg) and 6 months [(17.8±5.3) and (19.9±4.4) mmHg) were lower than those before surgery [(25.1±9.3) and (27.4±9.1) mmHg) (all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the overall IOP between groups (P>0.05). The IOP reduction rates in the KDB and Trabectome groups were 23.4% and 19.0%, with no significant difference (P=0.674). The numbers of IOP-lowering medications used in the KDB and Trabectome groups at 3 months [2.0 (1.0, 4.0) and 2.0 (1.0, 2.3)] and 6 months [2.0 (0.0, 4.0) and 2.0 (1.0, 3.0)] after surgery were not significantly different from those before surgery [4.0 (2.0, 4.0) and 3.0 (2.0, 4.0)] (both P>0.05). There was no statistical significance in the overall number of IOP-lowering medications used between the two groups (P>0.05). There was also no statistically significant difference in the proportion of patients with an IOP decrease of≥20% and the proportion of patients whose mean postoperative IOP was≤21 mmHg (all P>0.05). The proportions of IOP≤21 mmHg in the KDB group and the Trabectome group at 6 months after surgery were 81.8% and 68.8% (P>0.05). Serious intraoperative or postoperative complications occurred in neither group. Conclusions: Both KDB trabeculotomy and Trabectome surgery can effectively reduce IOP and have a good safety profile in treating POAG, with the same number of IOP-lowering medications.

Abstract
Based on (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→γK_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0}η^{'} is performed. The mass and width of the X(2370) are measured to be 2395±11(stat)_{-94}^{+26}(syst) MeV/c^{2} and 188_{-17}^{+18}(stat)_{-33}^{+124}(syst) MeV, respectively. The corresponding product branching fraction is B[J/ψ→γX(2370)]×B[X(2370)→f_{0}(980)η^{'}]×B[f_{0}(980)→K_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0}]=(1.31±0.22(stat)_{-0.84}^{+2.85}(syst))×10^{-5}. The statistical significance of the X(2370) is greater than 11.7σ and the spin parity is determined to be 0^{-+} for the first time. The measured mass and spin parity of the X(2370) are consistent with the predictions of the lightest pseudoscalar glueball.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of copy number variation sequencing (CNV-seq) to detect the deletion or duplication of DMD gene in prenatal diagnosis. Methods: A retrospective analysis was carried out on the CNV-seq results of 34 544 fetuses diagnosed in the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province from January 2018 to July 2023. A total of 156 cases of fetuses were collected, including Group 1:125 cases with family history of Duchenne muscular dystrophy or Becker muscular dystrophy (DMD/BMD), and Group 2:31 cases with no family history but a DMD gene deletion or duplication was detected unexpectedly by CNV-seq. Multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) was used as a standard method to detect the deletion or duplication. Consistency test was carried out basing on the results of CNV-seq and MLPA of all 156 cases. Results: Comparing to MLPA, CNV-seq had a coincidence rate of 92.3% (144/156) for DMD gene deletion or duplication, with a sensitivity and positive predictive value of 88.2%, with a specificity and negative predictive value of 94.3%, a missed detection rate of 3.8%, and a Kappa value of 0.839. CNV-seq missed 4 cases with deletions and 2 with duplications due to involved fragments less than 100 Kb, among 20 cases of deletions and 6 cases of duplications detected by MLPA in Group 1. In Group 2, the deletions and duplications detected by CNV-seq were 42% (13/31) and 58% (18/31), respectively, in which the percentage of duplication was higher than that in Group 1. Among those 18 cases with duplications, 3 cases with duplication locating in exon 42~67 were likely pathogenic; while 9 cases with duplication covering the 5' or 3' end of the DMD gene, containing exon 1 or 79 and with only one breakpoint within the gene, along with the last 6 cases with duplications locating at chrX: 32650635_32910000 detected only by CNV-seq, which might be judged as variants of uncertain significance. Conclusions: CNV-seq has a good efficiency to detect fetal DMD gene deletion or duplication in prenatal diagnosis, while a further verification test by MLPA is recommended. The duplications on chrX: 32650635_32910000, 5' or 3' end of DMD gene detected by CNV-seq should be carefully verified and assessed because those variants appear to be nonpathogenic polymorphisms.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the predictive value of pulmonary effective arterial elastance (Ea) in patients with heart failure (HF). Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study, which retrospectively included 284 patients with HF who underwent right heart catheterization at Heart Failure Center in Fuwai Hospital between September 2013 and February 2022. Data regarding baseline clinical characteristics, hemodynamic profiles, and prognosis were collected. Ea was calculated as mean pulmonary arterial pressure/stroke volume. Patients were divided into Ea<0.555 group and Ea≥0.555 group according to the median value of Ea (0.555 mmHg/ml, 1 mmHg=0.133 kPa). The primary outcome was the primary clinical event, set as the first occurrence of a series of composite events, including all-cause death, heart transplantation, left ventricular assist device implantation, and HF rehospitalization. Event-free survival was defined as the absence of primary clinical events. Spearman correlation analysis was used to calculate the correlation coefficient between Ea and parameters reflective of right heart function. The Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to compare the different groups for the estimation of outcomes with the log-rank test. We used Cox proportional-hazards regression models to estimate hazard ratios (HR) for primary clinical event. Subgroup analysis was performed based on the age, gender, New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class, left ventricular ejection fraction, presence of pulmonary hypertension, and serum N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) values. We used receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve to calculate the area under the curve (AUC) of Ea for predicting event-free survival in patients with HF. Results: The median age was 51 years, and 206 (72.5%) patients were male. Ea and pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) were significantly correlated (r=0.698, P<0.001). The correlation between Ea and pulmonary arterial elastance (PAC) were even more significant (r=-0.888, P<0.001). Compared with Ea<0.555 group, Ea≥0.555 group presented with higher serum NT-proBNP values (4 443 (1 792, 8 554) ng/L vs. 1 721 (480, 4 528)ng/L,P<0.001), higher PVR (3.4 (2.5, 4.7) Wood vs. 1.4 (0.9, 2.2) Wood, P<0.001), lower cardiac output (3.0 (2.3, 3.9) L/min vs. 4.3 (3.8, 4.9) L/min, P<0.001), and lower PAC (1.6 (1.3, 2.0) ml/mmHg vs. 4.0 (3.0, 6.0) ml/mmHg, P<0.001). The median follow-up time was 392 (166, 811) days. The Kaplan-Meier survival curve demonstrated a lower event-free survival rate in the Ea≥0.555 group compared to the Ea<0.555 group (Plog-rank<0.001). After multivariate adjustment, Ea (HR=1.734, P<0.001) remained significantly associated with the primary outcome. Subgroup analysis indicated that Ea was associated with the primary outcome across all subgroups. The AUC was 0.724 (P<0.001) for Ea to predict event-free survival calculated from ROC analysis. Conclusions: Ea is closely related to parameters reflective of right ventricular afterload. Increased Ea is an independent predictor of adverse outcomes in patients with HF.

Abstract
We present measurements of the Born cross sections for the processes e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ_{c1} and ωχ_{c2} at center-of-mass energies sqrt[s] from 4.308 to 4.951 GeV. The measurements are performed with data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.0 fb^{-1} collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider storage ring. Assuming the e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ_{c2} signals come from a single resonance, the mass and width are determined to be M=(4413.6±9.0±0.8) MeV/c^{2} and Γ=(110.5±15.0±2.9) MeV, respectively, which is consistent with the parameters of the well-established resonance ψ(4415). In addition, we also use one single resonance to describe the e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ_{c1} line shape and determine the mass and width to be M=(4544.2±18.7±1.7) MeV/c^{2} and Γ=(116.1±33.5±1.7) MeV, respectively. The structure of this line shape, observed for the first time, requires further understanding.

Abstract
We perform a study of the χ_{c1}(3872) line shape using the data samples of e^{+}e^{-}→γχ_{c1}(3872), χ_{c1}(3872)→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0}π^{0}, and π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ collected with the BESIII detector. The effects of the coupled channels and the off-shell D^{*0} are included in the parametrization of the line shape. The line shape mass parameter is obtained to be M_{X}=(3871.63±0.13_{-0.05}^{+0.06}) MeV. Two poles are found on the first and second Riemann sheets corresponding to the D^{*0}D[over ¯]^{0} branch cut. The pole location on the first sheet is much closer to the D^{*0}D[over ¯]^{0} threshold than the other, and is determined to be 7.04±0.15_{-0.08}^{+0.07} MeV above the D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0}π^{0} threshold with an imaginary part -0.19±0.08_{-0.19}^{+0.14} MeV.

Abstract
Using a sample of (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events, which is about 45 times larger than that was previously analyzed, a further investigation on the J/ψ→γ3(π^{+}π^{-}) decay is performed. A significant distortion at 1.84 GeV/c^{2} in the line shape of the 3(π^{+}π^{-}) invariant mass spectrum is observed for the first time, which could be resolved by two overlapping resonant structures, X(1840) and X(1880). The new state X(1880) is observed with a statistical significance larger than 10σ. The mass and width of X(1880) are determined to be 1882.1±1.7±0.7 MeV/c^{2} and 30.7±5.5±2.4 MeV, respectively, which indicates the existence of a pp[over ¯] bound state.

Housing debt and depressive symptoms: evidence from the China family panel studies. BMC Psychol 2024; 12:186. [PMID: 38581029 PMCID: PMC10996272 DOI: 10.1186/s40359-024-01667-z] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Grants] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 11/27/2023] [Accepted: 03/16/2024] [Indexed: 04/07/2024] Open
Abstract
BACKGROUND There is limited evidence on the association between housing debt and depressive symptoms in China. This study aimed to examine the impact of housing debt on depressive symptoms and explore the heterogeneous impacts arising from two sources of housing debt and two types of housing demands. METHODS Using data from the 2016 and 2018 China Family Panel Studies (CFPS), this study included 25,232 Chinese individuals. Depressive symptoms were assessed using the eight-item Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D8). Housing debt was measured by dummy variables, indicating whether an individual had housing debt, and continuous variables, which were the logarithm of the total amount of housing debt. The two-way fixed effects model was used to examine the relationship. RESULTS Housing debt had a significant positive impact on depressive symptoms in China. Individuals with housing debt had a 0.176-point higher depressive symptom score than those without housing debt. A 10% increase in the total amount of housing debt led to a 0.16-point increase in depressive symptoms. Non-bank housing loans significantly increased the level of depressive symptoms with a larger coefficient (coef = 0.289), while the impact of bank housing loans was small and not statistically significant. In terms of the types of housing demands, a positive impact was observed only among individuals who had only one property meeting their housing consumption demands. CONCLUSIONS This study found a significant positive impact of housing debt on depressive symptoms, primarily driven by non-bank housing loans. Furthermore, housing debt increased the depressive symptoms among individuals with consumption demands, while those with investment demands did not show a significant impact. Government interventions should prioritize easing formal financial constraints and providing support for individuals with housing consumption demands.

Abstract
Using e^{+}e^{-} collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.33 fb^{-1} recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, we present an analysis of the decay D_{s}^{+}→π^{+}π^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}, where the D_{s}^{+} is produced via the process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{*±}D_{s}^{∓}. We observe the f_{0}(980) in the π^{+}π^{-} system and the branching fraction of the decay D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(980)e^{+}ν_{e} with f_{0}(980)→π^{+}π^{-} measured to be (1.72±0.13_{stat}±0.10_{syst})×10^{-3}, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The dynamics of the D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(980)e^{+}ν_{e} decay are studied with the simple pole parametrization of the hadronic form factor and the Flatté formula describing the f_{0}(980) in the differential decay rate, and the product of the form factor f_{+}^{f_{0}}(0) and the c→s Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V_{cs}| is determined for the first time to be f_{+}^{f_{0}}(0)|V_{cs}|=0.504±0.017_{stat}±0.035_{syst}. Furthermore, the decay D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(500)e^{+}ν_{e} is searched for the first time but no signal is found. The upper limit on the branching fraction of D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(500)e^{+}ν_{e}, f_{0}(500)→π^{+}π^{-} decay is set to be 3.3×10^{-4} at 90% confidence level.

Abstract
Radiation-induced intestinal damage (RIID) is a common side effect of radiotherapy in patients with abdominopelvic malignancies. Gap junctions are special structures consisting of connexins (Cxs). This study aimed to investigate the expression and role of connexins in RIID and underlying mechanism. In this study, a calcein-AM fluorescence probe was used to detect changes in gap junctional intercellular communication in intestinal epithelial IEC-6 cells. Our results show that gap junctional intercellular communication of IEC-6 cells was reduced at 6, 12, 24, and 48 h after irradiation, with the most pronounced effect at 24 h. Western blotting and immunofluorescence results showed that the expression of Cx43, but not other connexins, was reduced in irradiated intestinal epithelial cells. Silencing of Cx43 reduced gap junctional intercellular communication between irradiated intestinal epithelial cells with increased ROS and intracellular Ca2+ levels. Furthermore, knockdown of Cx43 reduced the number of clonal clusters, decreased cell proliferation with increased cytotoxicity and apoptosis. Western blotting results showed that silencing of Cx43 resulted in changed γ-H2AX and PI3K/AKT pathway proteins in irradiated intestinal epithelial cells. Administration of the PI3K/AKT pathway inhibitor LY294002 inhibited the radioprotective effects in Cx43-overexpressing intestinal epithelial cells. Our study demonstrated that Cx43 expression is decreased by ionizing radiation, which facilitates the radioprotection of intestinal epithelial cells.

Abstract
We perform for the first time an amplitude analysis of the decay D^{+}→K_{S}^{0}π^{+}η and report the observation of the decay D^{+}→K_{S}^{0}a_{0}(980)^{+} using 2.93 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. As the only W-annihilation-free decay among D to a_{0}(980) pseudoscalar, D^{+}→K_{S}^{0}a_{0}(980)^{+} is the ideal decay in extracting the contributions of the W-emission amplitudes involving a_{0}(980) and to study the final-state interactions. The absolute branching fraction of D^{+}→K_{S}^{0}π^{+}η is measured to be (1.27±0.04_{stat}±0.03_{syst})%. The branching fractions of intermediate processes D^{+}→K_{S}^{0}a_{0}(980)^{+} with a_{0}(980)^{+}→π^{+}η and D^{+}→π^{+}K[over ¯]_{0}^{*}(1430)^{0} with K[over ¯]_{0}^{*}(1430)^{0}→K_{S}^{0}η are measured to be (1.33±0.05_{stat}±0.04_{syst})% and (0.14±0.03_{stat}±0.01_{syst})%, respectively.

Investigation of the ΔI=1/2 Rule and Test of CP Symmetry through the Measurement of Decay Asymmetry Parameters in Ξ^{-} Decays. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:101801. Abstract
Using (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, numerous Ξ^{-} and Λ decay asymmetry parameters are simultaneously determined from the process J/ψ→Ξ^{-}Ξ[over ¯]^{+}→Λ(pπ^{-})π^{-}Λ[over ¯](n[over ¯]π^{0})π^{+} and its charge-conjugate channel. The precisions of α_{Λ0} for Λ→nπ^{0} and α[over ¯]_{Λ0} for Λ[over ¯]→n[over ¯]π^{0} compared to world averages are improved by factors of 4 and 1.7, respectively. The ratio of decay asymmetry parameters of Λ→nπ^{0} to that of Λ→pπ^{-}, ⟨α_{Λ0}⟩/⟨α_{Λ-}⟩, is determined to be 0.873±0.012_{-0.010}^{+0.011}, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The ratio is smaller than unity more than 5σ, which signifies the existence of the ΔI=3/2 transition in Λ for the first time. Besides, we test for CP symmetry in Ξ^{-}→Λπ^{-} and in Λ→nπ^{0} with the best precision to date.

Hypoxia-Responsive Tetrameric Supramolecular Polypeptide Nanoprodrugs for Combination Therapy. Adv Healthc Mater 2024; 13:e2303308. Abstract
Despite the intense progress of photodynamic and chemotherapy, however, they cannot prevent solid tumor invasion, metastasis, and relapse, along with inferior efficacy and severe side effects. The hypoxia-responsive nanoprodrugs integrating photodynamic functions are highly sought to address the above-mentioned problems and overcome the tumor hypoxia-reduced efficacy. Herein, a hypoxia-responsive tetrameric supramolecular polypeptide nanoprodrug (SPN-TAPP-PCB4) is constructed from the self-assembly of tetrameric porphyrin-central poly(l-lysine-azobenzene-chlorambucil) (TAPP-(PLL-Azo-CB)4) and an anionic water-soluble [2]biphenyl-extended-pillar[6]arene (AWBpP6) via the synergy of hydrophobic, π-π stacking, and host-guest interactions. Upon laser irradiation, the central TAPP can convert oxygen to generate single oxygen (1 O2 ) to kill tumor cells. Furthermore, under the acidic and PDT-aggravated hypoxia tumor cell microenvironment, SPN-TAPP-PCB4 is rapidly disassembled, and then efficiently releases activated CB through the hypoxic-responsive cleavage of azobenzene linkages. Both in vitro and in vivo biological studies showcase synergistic cancer-killing actions between photodynamic therapy (PDT) and chemotherapy (CT) with negligible toxicity. Consequently, this supramolecular polypeptide nanoprodrug offers an effective strategy to design a hypoxia-responsive nanoprodrug for a potential combo PDT-CT transition.

Abstract
By analyzing 7.33 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we report the observation of the semileptonic decay D_{s}^{+}→η^{'}μ^{+}ν_{μ}, with a statistical significance larger than 10σ, and the measurements of the D_{s}^{+}→ημ^{+}ν_{μ} and D_{s}^{+}→η^{'}μ^{+}ν_{μ} decay dynamics for the first time. The branching fractions of D_{s}^{+}→ημ^{+}ν_{μ} and D_{s}^{+}→η^{'}μ^{+}ν_{μ} are determined to be (2.235±0.051_{stat}±0.052_{syst})% and (0.801±0.055_{stat}±0.028_{syst})%, respectively, with precision improved by factors of 6.0 and 6.6 compared to the previous best measurements. Combined with the results for the decays D_{s}^{+}→ηe^{+}ν_{e} and D_{s}^{+}→η^{'}e^{+}ν_{e}, the ratios of the decay widths are examined both inclusively and in several ℓ^{+}ν_{ℓ} four-momentum transfer ranges. No evidence for lepton flavor universality violation is found within the current statistics. The products of the hadronic form factors f_{+,0}^{η^{(')}}(0) and the c→s Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V_{cs}| are determined. The results based on the two-parameter series expansion are f_{+,0}^{η}(0)|V_{cs}|=0.452±0.010_{stat}±0.007_{syst} and f_{+,0}^{η^{'}}(0)|V_{cs}|=0.504±0.037_{stat}±0.012_{syst}, which help to constrain present models on f_{+,0}^{η^{(')}}(0). The forward-backward asymmetries are determined to be ⟨A_{FB}^{η}⟩=-0.059±0.031_{stat}±0.005_{syst} and ⟨A_{FB}^{η^{'}}⟩=-0.064±0.079_{stat}±0.006_{syst} for the first time, which are consistent with the theoretical calculation.

Abstract
Objective: This study sought to determine the predictive value of aortic pulsatility index (API) on event-free survival in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Methods: We retrospectively studied 121 patients with HFpEF who underwent right heart catheterization at Heart Failure Center in Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, between November 2014 and August 2022. API was calculated as pulse pressure/pulmonary arterial wedge pressure. Patients were divided into three groups according to the tertiles of baseline API. The primary outcome was event-free survival, which was considered as freedom from death, heart transplantation, left ventricular assist device implantation, or HF rehospitalization. We compared the differences in clinical characteristics among the three groups of patients. Spearman correlation analysis was used to calculate the correlation coefficient between API and parameters reflective of left heart function. We used Cox proportional-hazards regression models to estimate hazard ratios (HR) for event-free survival. Receiver operating characteristic curve was used to calculate the area under the curve (AUC) of API for predicting event-free survival in patients with HFpEF. Quantitative data is represented by M (Q1, Q3). Results: The age was 59.0 (46.0, 66.5) years, and 84 (69.4%) patients were male. API and left ventricular stroke work (LVSW) were significantly correlated (r=0.478, P<0.001). The correlation between API and cardiac power output was also significant (r=0.224, P=0.014). Patients with API>3.77 presented with lower serum N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) values [492(163, 2 776) vs 2 962(722, 5 831) vs 3 823(1 419, 10 262) ng/L], lower left atrial dimension [38(34,42) vs 43(39, 48) vs 45 (42,53) mm], lower right atrial pressure [5 (2, 8) vs 8 (4, 13) vs 13 (8, 16) mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa)], and lower mean pulmonary arterial pressure [15 (11, 20) vs 22 (17, 26) vs 33 (26, 37) mmHg] (all P<0.05). The median follow-up time of the study was 366.0 (189.8, 648.5) days, and by the end of the follow-up, a total of 51 patients had reached the primary outcome. The cumulative event-free incidence rates of patients in the API>3.77 group, 1.89

Abstract
Objective: To explore the characteristics, prevention and treatment strategies of lower urinary tract injury in transvaginal reconstructive pelvic surgery (vRPS). Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 24 patients who suffered lower urinary tract injuries occuring in vRPS from January 2005 to June 2021, among which 4 cases were referred to our hospital from other hospitals. Results: (1) In our hospital, 1 952 patients underwent vRPS for anterior and (or) middle pelvic organ prolapse during that study period, with a 1.0% (20/1 952) incidence of lower urinary tract injuries occurring in 20 cases. (2) Ureteral injuries were observed in 14 cases who underwent transvaginal high uterosacral ligament suspension (1.4%, 14/966). The symptoms were relieved after the removal of sutures. (3) Bladder injuries occurred in 6 cases in our hospital, with 4 cases (0.7%, 4/576) in anterior transvaginal mesh surgery (aTVM), one (0.4%, 1/260) in colpocleisis, and one (0.7%, 1/150) in apical suspension for fornix prolapse. An additional 4 cases of bladder injury were referred to our hospital after aTVM. Among the 8 cases of bladder injury during aTVM, 2 cases were intraoperative incidents. Cystoscopy confirmed that the superficial branch or puncture rod of anterior vaginal mesh had penetrated into the bladder. Re-puncturing and placement of the mesh were successfully performed. No abnormalities were observed during a follow-up period of 4-5 years. Postoperative bladder injuries were identified in 6 cases, characterized by mesh erosion into the bladder and formation of calculi. These injuries were confirmed between 6 months to 2 years after vRPS. The exposed mesh and calculi in the bladder were removed through laparotomy or cystoscopy, followed up for 2-12 years. One case experienced slight re-erosion of mesh to the bladder. Conclusions: Lower urinary tract injuries are difficult to avoid in vRPS, particularly in transvaginal high uterosacral ligament suspension and aTVM. However, the incidence is low. Lower urinary tract injuries during vRPS could be easily detected and managed intraoperatively because of the use of cystoscopy. As long-term postoperative complications, erosion of transvaginal mesh to lower urinary tract postoperatively could be treated correctly, seldom with severe sequelae.

Abstract
Based on data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the process e^{+}e^{-}→Σ^{+}Σ[over ¯]^{-} is studied at center-of-mass energies sqrt[s]=2.3960, 2.6454, and 2.9000 GeV. Using a fully differential angular description of the final state particles, both the relative magnitude and phase information of the Σ^{+} electromagnetic form factors in the timelike region are extracted. The relative phase between the electric and magnetic form factors is determined to be sinΔΦ=-0.67±0.29(stat)±0.18(syst) at sqrt[s]=2.3960 GeV, ΔΦ=55°±19°(stat)±14°(syst) at sqrt[s]=2.6454 GeV, and 78°±22°(stat)±9°(syst) at sqrt[s]=2.9000 GeV. For the first time, the phase of the hyperon electromagnetic form factors is explored in a wide range of four-momentum transfer. The evolution of the phase along with four-momentum transfer is an important input for understanding its asymptotic behavior and the dynamics of baryons.

Abstract
An unexpected surge of osteoporosis outpatients occurred after COVID-19 lockdown was lifted in China. To confirm the observation and identify possible reasons driving patients care seeking behaviors post-pandemic, we compared the outpatient volumes at the osteoporosis clinic in January through May, 2019-2022 and surveyed seven osteoporosis specialists across China to validate the phenomenon before devising an online questionnaire to collect patients' characters and physical activity levels. Univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were calculated to identify predictors of post-lockdown care-seeking. We received 480 valid responses, including 397 (82.7%) patients having visited the clinic after lockdown and 83 (17.3%) having not. Four significant predictors were identified, including being female, experiencing pain, aggravating symptoms, and heightened anxiety during lockdown (P < 0.05). Both groups experienced lower physical activity levels during lockdown, which however was not a significant predictor (P = 0.317). The surge in osteoporosis outpatient visits after COVID-19 lockdown suggests vast latent demand for osteoporosis care accumulated during the pandemic. Four significant factors predict post-lockdown outpatient care-seeking, including being female, experiencing pain and aggravating symptoms, and heightened anxiety levels. Though physical activity levels decreased during lockdown, it failed to predict care-seeking. This demonstrates resilience of osteoporosis patients to resume regular care despite disruption and stress the substantial backlog of unmet healthcare needs.

Abstract
Clinical data of 15 primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) children aged ≤18 years admitted to our hospital between May 2013 to May 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Our goal was to summarize the clinical features of children and investigate the therapeutic effect of a high-dose methotrexate (HD-MTX) based chemotherapy regimen on this disease. The male-to-female ratio was 2.7∶1, and the median age was 7.2 (2.3-16.4) years at diagnosis. The initial clinical symptoms were primarily cranial hypertension, with imaging findings revealing multiple lesions. Pediatric PCNSL with normal immune function has a favorable prognosis with HD-MTX-based chemotherapy. Patients with a stable disease can be treated with minimal or no maintenance. HD-MTX-based chemotherapy remains effective when the disease progresses or recurs after an initial course of non-HD-MTX-based chemotherapy.

Abstract
Background Retinal detachment (RD) is a common sight-threatening condition in the emergency department. Early postural intervention based on detachment regions can improve visual prognosis. Methods We developed a weakly supervised model with 24,208 ultra-widefield fundus images to localize and coarsely outline the anatomical RD regions. The customized preoperative postural guidance was generated for patients accordingly. The localization performance was then compared with the baseline model and an ophthalmologist according to the reference standard established by the retina experts. Results In the 48-partition lesion detection, our proposed model reached an 86.42% (95% confidence interval (CI): 85.81-87.01%) precision and an 83.27% (95%CI: 82.62-83.90%) recall with an average precision (PA) of 0.9132. In contrast, the baseline model achieved a 92.67% (95%CI: 92.11-93.19%) precision and limited recall of 68.07% (95%CI: 67.25-68.88%). Our holistic lesion localization performance was comparable to the ophthalmologist's 89.16% (95%CI: 88.75-89.55%) precision and 83.38% (95%CI: 82.91-83.84%) recall. As to the performance of four-zone anatomical localization, compared with the ground truth, the un-weighted Cohen's κ coefficients were 0.710(95%CI: 0.659-0.761) and 0.753(95%CI: 0.702-0.804) for the weakly-supervised model and the general ophthalmologist, respectively. Conclusion The proposed weakly-supervised deep learning model showed outstanding performance comparable to that of the general ophthalmologist in localizing and outlining the RD regions. Hopefully, it would greatly facilitate managing RD patients, especially for medical referral and patient education.

Abstract
Fatty liver hemorrhage syndrome (FLHS) is the leading cause of noninfectious mortality in caged layers worldwide. Osteocalcin (OCN) is a protein secreted by osteoblasts, and its undercarboxylated form (ucOCN) acts as a multifunctional hormone that protects laying hens from FLHS. Lipophagy is a form of selective autophagy that breaks down lipid droplets (LDs) through lysosomes, and defective lipophagy is associated with FLHS. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of ucOCN on the lipophagy of chicken embryonic hepatocytes and associated the function of the adiponectin (ADPN) signaling pathway. In this study, chicken embryonic hepatocytes were divided into 5 groups: control (CONT), fat emulsion (FE, 10% FE, v/v), FE with ucOCN at 1 ng/mL (FE-LOCN), 3 ng/mL (FE-MOCN), and 9 ng/mL (FE-HOCN). In addition, 4 μM AdipoRon, an adiponectin receptor agonist, was used to investigate the function of ADPN. The results showed that compared with CONT group, FE promoted the levels of phosphorylation of mammalian target of rapamycin (p-mTOR) (P < 0.05) and decreased the mRNA expression of ADNP receptors (AdipoR1 and AdipoR2). Compared with FE group, 3 and 9 ng/mL ucOCN inhibited the levels of autophagy adaptor p62 and p-mTOR (P < 0.05), increased the ratios of LC3-II/LC3-I (P < 0.05) and phosphorylated adenosine 5'-monophosphate-activated protein kinase (p-AMPK)/AMPK (P < 0.05), as well as the levels of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPAR-α) and ADPN (P < 0.05). In addition, ucOCN at the tested concentrations increased the colocalization of LC3 and LDs in fatty hepatocytes. Administrated 4 μM AdipoRon activated AdipoR1 and AidpoR2 mRNA expression (P < 0.05), decreased the concentrations of triglyceride (P < 0.05), without effects on cell viability (P > 0.05). AdipoRon also increased the LC3-II/LC3-I ratio (P < 0.05) and the levels of p-AMPK/AMPK and PPAR-α (P < 0.05). In conclusion, the results reveal that ucOCN regulates lipid metabolism by activating lipophagy via the ADPN-AMPK/PPARα-mTOR signaling pathway in chicken embryonic hepatocytes. The results may provide new insights for controlling FLHS in laying hens.

Abstract
The research attention is increasingly directed towards the effective integration of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the limitations of the real world and amidst intersectoral conflicts. In light of the inextricable relationship between irrigation and energy, the objective of this study is to identify potential avenues for achieving the SDG6 and SDG7 goals of enhancing water use efficiency in agriculture and eradicating energy poverty, respectively. Utilizing data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2002 to 2017, this study explores the dynamic influence of energy poverty on agricultural water efficiency with a system generalized method of moments methodology. The findings suggest that energy poverty may greatly reduce agricultural water efficiency. The heterogeneity study shows that when agricultural water efficiency grows, the negative impacts of energy poverty continue to fade. Based on an assessment of various processes, results suggest that non-farm employment and cropping structure modification is a prominent conduit via which energy poverty negatively influences agricultural water efficiency.

Abstract
Based on 4.4 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energies between 4.60 and 4.70 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the pure W-boson-exchange decay Λ_{c}^{+}→Ξ^{0}K^{+} is studied with a full angular analysis. The corresponding decay asymmetry is measured for the first time to be α_{Ξ^{0}K^{+}}=0.01±0.16(stat)±0.03(syst). This result reflects the noninterference effect between the S- and P-wave amplitudes. The phase shift between S- and P-wave amplitudes has two solutions, which are δ_{p}-δ_{s}=-1.55±0.25(stat)±0.05(syst) rad or 1.59±0.25(stat)±0.05(syst) rad.

[Participation rate and detection of colorectal neoplasms based on multi-round fecal immunochemical testing for colorectal cancer screening in the Chinese population]. ZHONGHUA ZHONG LIU ZA ZHI [CHINESE JOURNAL OF ONCOLOGY] 2023; 45:1041-1050. [PMID: 38110312 DOI: 10.3760/cma.j.cn112152-20230221-00073] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Grants] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 12/20/2023]
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the participation rate and detection of colorectal neoplasms based on annual fecal immunochemical testing (FIT) for three consecutive years in a population-based colorectal cancer screening program in China. Methods: Based on a population-based colorectal cancer screening program conducted from May 2018 to May 2021 in 6 centers in China, 7 793 eligible participants aged 50-74 were included and offered free FIT and colonoscopy (for those who were FIT-positive on initial screening). At baseline, all participants were invited to receive FIT. In subsequent screening rounds, only FIT-positive participants who did not undergo colonoscopy or FIT-negative participants were invited to have repeated FIT screening. FIT-positive participants were recommended to undertake colonoscopy and pathological examination (if abnormalities were found during colonoscopy). An overall of three rounds of annual FIT screening were conducted. The primary outcomes of the study were the participation rate of FIT screening, the compliance rate of colonoscopy for FIT-positive participants, and the detection rate of colorectal neoplasms. Results: Among the 7 793 participants included in this study, 3 310 (42.5%) were male, with age of (60.50±6.49) years. The overall participation rates for the first, second and third round of FIT screening were 94.0%(7 327/7 793), 86.8% (6 048/6 968) and 91.3% (6 113/6 693), respectively. Overall, 7 742 out of 7 793 participants (99.3%) attended at least one round of screening, and 5 163 out of 7 793 participants (66.3%) attended all three rounds of screening. The positivity rate was significantly higher in the first (14.6%, 1 071/7 327) round compared with the second (5.6%, 3 41/6 048) and third (5.5%, 3 39/6 113) screening rounds (P<0.001). The overall compliance rates of colonoscopy examination among FIT-positive subjects were over 70% in three rounds, which were 76.3% (817/1 071), 75.7% (258/341) and 71.7% (243/339), respectively. In a multivariate logistic regression model considering factors including sex, education background, smoking, alcohol drinking, previous colonoscopy examination, colonic polyp history and family history of colorectal cancer among first-degree relatives, gender and smoking status were related factors affecting the participation rate of FIT screening, with higher rate in males and non-smokers. In addition, logistic regression analysis also found that age was negatively correlated with the compliance rate of colonoscopy in FIT positive patients. The detection rate of advanced tumors (colorectal cancer + advanced adenoma) declined from the first round to subsequent rounds [1st round: 1.15% (90/7 793); 2nd round: 0.57% (40/6 968); and 3rd round: 0.58% (39/6 693)], however, the positive predictive value for advanced neoplasms increased round by round, and was 11.02% in the first screening round, 15.50% in the second screening round, and 16.05 % in the third screening round. In each screening round, the detection rate for advanced neoplasms was higher in men than that in women, and increased with age. Conclusions: Annual repeated FIT screening has high acceptance and satisfying detection rates in the Chinese population. To optimize and improve the effectiveness of colorectal cancer screening, multi-round repeated FIT screening should be implemented while ensuring high participation rates.

Abstract
Background Tumor mutational burden (TMB) is a valuable prognostic biomarker. This study explored the predictive value of TMB and the potential association between TMB and immune infiltration in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Methods We downloaded the gene expression profile, somatic mutation, and clinical data of DLBCL patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. We classified the samples into high-and low-TMB groups to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Functional enrichment analyses were performed to determine the biological functions of the DEGs. We utilized the cell-type identification by estimating relative subsets of RNA transcripts (CIBERSORT) algorithm to estimate the abundance of 22 immune cells, and the significant difference was determined by the Wilcoxon rank-sum test between the high- and low-TMB group. Hub gene had been screened as the prognostic TMB-related immune biomarker by the combination of the Immunology Database and Analysis Portal (ImmPort) database and the univariate Cox analysis from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database including six DLBCL datasets. Various database applications such as Tumor Immune Estimation Resource (TIMER), CellMiner, konckTF, and Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) verified the functions of the target gene. Wet assay confirmed the target gene expression at RNA and protein levels in DLBCL tissue and cell samples. Results Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) occurred more frequently than insertion and deletion, and C > T was the most common single nucleotide variant (SNV) in DLBCL. Survival analysis showed that the high-TMB group conferred poor survival outcomes. A total of 62 DEGs were obtained, and 13 TMB-related immune genes were identified. Univariate Cox analysis results illustrated that CD1c mutation was associated with lower TMB and manifested a satisfactory clinical prognosis by analysis of large samples from the GEO database. In addition, infiltration levels of immune cells in the high-TMB group were lower. Using the TIMER database, we systematically analyzed that the expression of CD1c was positively correlated with B cells, neutrophils, and dendritic cells and negatively correlated with CD8+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, and macrophages. Drug sensitivity showed a significant positive correlation between CD1c expression level and clinical drug sensitivity from the CellMiner database. CREB1, AHR, and TOX were used to comprehensively explore the regulation of CD1c-related transcription factors and signaling pathways by the KnockTF database. We searched the GETx database to compare the mRNA expression levels of CD1c between DLBCL and normal tissues, and the results suggested a significant difference between them. Moreover, wet experiments were conducted to verify the high expression of CD1c in DLBCL at the RNA and protein levels. Conclusions Higher TMB correlated with poor survival outcomes and inhibited the immune infiltrates in DLBCL. Our results suggest that CD1c is a TMB-related prognostic biomarker.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the genetic basis for a child featuring facial dysmorphism, single palmar crease, motor and language delay, and hypoplasia of corpus callosum. METHODS A child who had visited the Affiliated Hospital of Binzhou Medical College on March 16, 2021 was selected as the study subject. Peripheral blood samples of the child and his parents were collected, and the genomic DNA was extracted for whole exome sequencing (WES). Candidate variant was verified by Sanger sequencing and bioinformatic analysis. RESULTS WES revealed that the child has harbored a heterozygous c.607delT (p.S203Pfs*31) variant in exon 9 of the TCF4 gene, for which both of his parents were of the wild-type. Based on guidelines from the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, the variant was classified as pathogenic (PVS1+PM2_Supporting+PM6). CONCLUSION The heterozygous c.607delT (p.S203Pfs*31) variant of the TCF4 gene probably underlay the Pitt-Hopkins syndrome in this child. Genetic testing has enabled the definite diagnosis.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the gene mutation of telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) promoter in inverted urothelial lesions of the bladder and its significance in differential diagnosis. Methods: From March 2016 to February 2022, a total of 32 patients with inverted urothelial lesions diagnosed in Department of Pathology at Qingdao Chengyang People's Hospital and 24 patients at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University were collected, including 7 cases of florid glandular cystitis, 13 cases of inverted urothelial papilloma, 8 cases of inverted urothelial neoplasm with low malignant potential, 17 cases of low-grade non-invasive inverted urothelial carcinoma, 5 cases of high-grade non-invasive inverted urothelial carcinoma, and 6 cases of nested subtype of urothelial carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed for their clinical data and histopathological features. TERT promoter mutations were analyzed by Sanger sequencing in all the cases. Results: No mutations in the TERT promoter were found in the florid glandular cystitis and inverted urothelial papilloma. The mutation rates of the TERT promoter in inverted urothelial neoplasm with low malignant potential, low grade non-invasive inverter urothelial carcinoma, high grade non-invasive inverted urothelial carcinoma and nested subtype urothelial carcinoma were 1/8, 8/17, 2/5 and 6/6, respectively. There was no significant difference in the mutation rate of TERT promoter among inverted urothelial neoplasm with low malignant potential, low-grade non-invasive inverted urothelial carcinoma, and high-grade non-invasive inverted urothelial carcinoma (P>0.05). All 6 cases of nested subtype of urothelial carcinoma were found to harbor the mutation, which was significantly different from inverted urothelial neoplasm with low malignant potential and non-invasive inverted urothelial carcinoma (P<0.05). In terms of mutation pattern, 13/17 of TERT promoter mutations were C228T, 4/17 were C250T. Conclusions: The morphology combined with TERT promoter mutation detection is helpful for the differential diagnosis of bladder non-invasive inverted urothelial lesions.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the early efficacy and safety of transnasal endoscopic decompression in the annulus of zinn (AZ) region for refractory dysthyroid optic neuropathy (DON) and to preliminarily analyze the correlated factors of postoperative visual function outcome. Methods: From July 2021 to January 2023, 35 patients (56 eyes) with DON who received AZ area decompression in Peking University Third Hospital were included retrospectively, including 9 males (13 eyes) and 26 females (43 eyes), aging (52.2±12.0) years. Among them, 35 eyes underwent two-wall (medial and inferior) orbital decompression using an endonasal endoscopic approach, while 21 eyes received three-wall (medial, lateral, and inferior) orbital decompression through a combined approach. Key parameters such as best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), visual field (MD value), eyeball prominence, intraocular pressure, and complications were recorded. Postoperative data were collected one month after surgery. The statistical analysis was performed using paired t-test and Spearman correlation analysis. Results: Significant outcomes were observed post surgery in BCVA, visual field, intraocular pressure and proptosis (t value was 8.37, 6.17, 4.50, and 9.20, respectively, all P<0.001). The reduction in proptosis was statistically significant between the 2-wall and 3-wall orbital decompression groups (t=-2.82, P=0.007). Changes in BCVA, visual field, and intraocular pressure before and after surgery was greater in the 3-wall orbital decompression group compared to 2-wall orbital decompression group, although the difference was not statistically significant (all P>0.05). Change in postoperative visual acuity and visual field was significantly positively correlated with preoperative visual acuity and preoperative visual field (all P<0.001). Similarly, change in intraocular pressure and proptosis was positively correlated with preoperative intraocular pressure and preoperative protrusion (all P<0.001). Preoperative diplopia was reported in seven patients (20.0%), and two new cases (5.7%) were noted post-operation, which resolved within 3 months after surgery. Conclusions: Endoscopic endonasal decompression of the AZ area is a safe and effective surgical treatment for DON, with notable improvements in BCVA. Furthermore, three-orbital wall decompression seems to yield better outcomes in terms of eye retraction.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of pegylated interferon alpha-2b (PEG-IFN-α2b) in the treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN). Methods: Thirty-four MPN patients receiving PEG-IFN-α2b treatment in the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University from August 2019 to October 2022 were prospectively included. Among the patients, 9 were male and 25 were female, and the median age [M (Q1, Q3)] was 57 (19, 78) years. Patients' clinical characteristics were collected and the follow-up was performed. As of January 30, 2023, the follow-up period [M(Q1, Q3)] was 24 (16, 33) months. The efficacy, safety and changes in immune cell and cytokine levels after 12 and 24 months of treatment were analyzed. Results: During the follow-up period, 4 patients dropped out, and the efficacy was evaluable in 30 patients. Following 12 and 24 months of treatment, the complete hematologic response (CHR) rates were 57.1% (16/28) and 75.0% (18/24), respectively. The complete molecular response (CMR)+partial molecular response (PMR) rates were 27.3% (6/22) and 55.0% (11/20), respectively. The bone marrow histopathological overall response rates (ORR) were 34.6% (9/26) and 47.6% (10/21), respectively. At 12 and 24 months of treatment, the proportions of CD8+HLA-DR+T cells, effector T cell subpopulations, CD56bright natural killer (NK) cells, and plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) were higher than the pre-treatment levels, while the proportion of CD56dim NK cells was lower than the pre-treatment level (all P<0.05). The levels of motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10), tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and TNF-β in bone marrow all increased from those prior to treatment, while the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and interleukin (IL-4) decreased from those prior to treatment (all P<0.05). Among hematological adverse reactions, white blood cells decrease [47% (16/34)] was observed with high incidence. Among non-hematological adverse reactions, asthenia [44.1% (15/34)] and transaminases increase [32.3% (11/34)] were observed with high incidences. Conclusions: PEG-IFN-α2b has high hematologic, molecular, and bone marrow histopathological response rates in the treatment of MPN. It can reduce malignant clone loads and regulate the immune microenvironment and is safe and well tolerated overall.

Abstract
Classical myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), also known as Ph-MPN, includes polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF). Secondary myelofibrosis (sMF) and secondary acute myeloid leukemia (sAML) are important disease progressions of MPN. After MPN disease progression, hematopoietic stem cells undergo new clonal evolution, leading to drug resistance, poor treatment effect and poor survival of patients. In recent years, the exploration of the mechanism of disease progression and the precise diagnosis and treatment of MPN have attracted much attention. This article summarizes the research status of MPN disease progression, including the pathogenesis, risk stratification, and precision treatment, in order to provide reference for exploring new diagnosis and treatment methods of MPN disease progression.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the risk factors of thrombosis in patients with JAK2V617F mutation positive myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). Methods: A total of 223 MPN patients with JAK2V617F mutation in the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University from September 2017 to May 2023 were retrospectively enrolled, including 111 males and 112 females, aged [M(Q1,Q3)] 57(21,66) years. According to the presence or absence of thromboembolism during follow-up, the patients were divided into thrombosis group (n=102) and non-thrombosis group (n=121). The clinical characteristics, laboratory characteristics, cytogenetics and other disease progression and survival of the two groups of patients were analyzed. As of March 31, 2023, the follow-up period [M (Q1, Q3)] was 6 (3, 10) years. The influencing factors of thrombosis in JAK2V617F positive MPN patients were analyzed by using the Cox risk model. Results: Among 223 JAK2V617F positive MPN patients, 144 were polycythemia vera (PV), 51 were essential thrombocythemia (ET) and 28 were primary myelofibrosis (PMF). The mutation rates of ASXL1 and BCORL1 genes in the thrombosis group were 19.6% (20/102) and 6.9% (7/102), respectively, which were higher than those in the non-thrombosis group [9.1% (11/121) and 0.8% (1/121)] (both P<0.05). The proportion of monocytes, C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-1β (IL)-1β, IL-8 and tumor necrosis factor-β (TNF-β) increased in the thrombosis group were higher than those in the non-thrombosis group (all P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that age≥60 years (HR=2.132, 95%CI: 1.376-3.303, P=0.001), history of thrombosis (HR=3.636, 95%CI: 2.121-6.202, P<0.001), ASXL1 mutation positive (HR=2.245, 95%CI: 1.093-3.231, P=0.022) and elevated TNF-β (HR=2.009, 95%CI: 1.113-3.624, P=0.021) were risk factors for thrombosis in JAK2V617F positive MPN patients. Conclusions: In addition to age, history of thrombosis and positive ASXL1 mutation, elevated TNF-β is also an influencing factor of thrombosis in JAK2V617F positive MPN patients. Intervention of inflammation may have a certain effect on the prevention and treatment of thrombosis.

Esophageal cancer cell-derived small extracellular vesicles decrease circulating Tfh/Tfr via sEV-PDL1 to promote immunosuppression. Cancer Immunol Immunother 2023; 72:4249-4259. Abstract
Esophageal cancer (EC) is a deadly malignancy. Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) with programmed death ligand 1 (sEV-PDL1) induce immune escape to promote tumor progression. Furthermore, the imbalance between circulating follicular helper T (Tfh) and circulating follicular regulatory T (Tfr) cells is related to the progression of many malignant tumors. However, the role of the EC-derived sEV-PDL1 in circulating Tfh/Tfr is unknown. Circulating Tfh and Tfr cells were detected by flow cytometry. sEVs were isolated through differential centrifugation and cultured for cell expansion assays. Naïve CD4+ T cells were isolated, stimulated, and cultured with sEVs to evaluate the frequencies, phenotypes, and functions of Tfh and Tfr cells. The proportion of circulating Tfh in patients with EC was lower than that in healthy donors (HDs), whereas that of circulating Tfr was higher. The EC group showed significantly lower circulating Tfh/Tfr and a higher level of sEV-PDL1 than HDs. Notably, sEV-PDL1 was negatively correlated with circulating Tfh/Tfr in the EC group. In vitro assays, sEV-PDL1 inhibited Tfh expansion, enhanced the cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4+ (CTLA4+) Tfh cell percentage, decreased the levels of interleukin (IL)-21 and interferon-γ, and increased IL-10. sEV-PDL1 promoted the expansion and immunosuppressive functions of circulating Tfr; the increased percentages of CTLA4+ Tfr and inducible T cell co-stimulator+ Tfr were accompanied with high IL-10. However, applying an anti-PDL1 antibody significantly reversed this. Our results suggest a novel mechanism of sEV-PDL1-mediated immunosuppression in EC. Ubiquitin-specific peptidase 47 (USP47) regulates cutaneous oxidative injury through nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT). Toxicol Appl Pharmacol 2023; 480:116734. Abstract
Human skin is daily exposed to oxidative stresses in the environment such as physical stimulation, chemical pollutants and pathogenic microorganisms, which are likely to cause skin diseases. As important post-translational modifications, protein ubiquitination and deubiquitination play crucial roles in maintaining cellular homeostasis by the proteolytic removal of oxidized proteins. We have previously reported that the expression of ubiquitin-specific protease 47 (USP47), a kind of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs), was significantly elevated in response to oxidative stress. However, the role of USP47 in cutaneous oxidative injury remains unclear. Usp47 wild-type (Usp47+/+) mice and Usp47 knockout (Usp47-/-) mice were used to establish two animal models of oxidative skin damage: (1) radiation- and (2) imiquimod (IMQ)-induced skin injury. Loss of Usp47 consistently aggravated mouse skin damage in vivo. Subsequently, we screened 63 upregulated and 170 downregulated proteins between the skin tissues of wild-type and Usp47-/- mice after 35 Gy electron beam radiation using proteomic analysis. Among the dysregulated proteins, nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT), which has been reported as a significant regulator of oxidative stress and redox homeostasis, was further investigated in detail. Results showed that NNT was regulated by USP47 through direct ubiquitination mediated degradation and involved in the pathogenesis of cutaneous oxidative injury. Knockdown of NNT expression dramatically limited the energy production ability, with elevated mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and increased mitochondrial membrane potential in irradiated HaCaT cells. Taken together, our present findings illustrate the critical role of USP47 in oxidative skin damage by modulating NNT degradation and mitochondrial homeostasis.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between pathogenic gene, mutation and phenotype of left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) patients and their family members. Methods: The subjects were the proband with LVNC and her family members. The medical history including electrocardiogram, echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance examination of the proband and family members were collected. Whole exome sequencing of the proband was performed, bioinformatics analysis focused on the genes related to hereditary cardiomyopathy. Candidate pathogenic sites were validated by Sanger sequencing. The clinical interpretation of sequence variants were classified according to American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) guidelines. Results: The proband carried a heterozygous variation of the MYBPC3 gene c.C2827T and the MYH7 gene c.G2221C. The proband's sister carried heterozygous variation of MYBPC3 gene c.C2827T. According to the ACMG guidelines, the variant was determined to be pathogenic. Conclusion: The missense variant of MYBPC3 gene c.C2827T and MYH7 gene c.G2221C are identified from the proband with LVNC and her family member, which provides a genetic basis for clinical diagnosis and genetic counseling of the patients and the family members with LVNC.

Abstract
Screening and early diagnosis and treatment have been proven effective in reducing the incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer. Colonoscopy combined with pathological examination is the gold standard for colorectal cancer screening. However, due to the invasiveness, high cost and the need for professional endoscopists of colonoscopy, it is not feasible to directly use this method for mass population screening. Fecal immunochemical test (FIT) is one of the screening techniques recommended by authoritative international guidelines for colorectal cancer screening, and has been widely used in population-based colorectal cancer screening programs in countries around the world. This paper elaborates on the value of FIT in colorectal cancer screening from different aspects, such as the technical principles, the screening efficiency, the screening strategies, and the population effects and benefits. Additionally, it describes the current situation of colorectal cancer screening in China and summarizes the challenges faced in colorectal cancer screening in order to optimize the FIT-based colorectal cancer screening strategies in the population and provide theoretical reference for effective colorectal cancer screening.

Abstract
Radiotherapy (RT) has been the standard of care for treating a multitude of cancer types. Radiation-induced gastric injury (RIGI) is a common complication of RT for thoracic and abdominal tumors. It manifests acutely as radiation gastritis or gastric ulcers, and chronically as chronic atrophic gastritis or intestinal metaplasia. In recent years, studies have shown that intracellular signals such as oxidative stress response, p38/MAPK pathway and transforming growth factor-β signaling pathway are involved in the progression of RIGI. This review also summarized the risk factors, diagnosis and treatment of this disease. However, the root of therapeutic challenges lies in the incomplete understanding of the mechanisms. Here, we also highlight the potential mechanistic, diagnostic and therapeutic directions of RIGI.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical and laboratory characteristics of SF3B1 gene mutations in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) patients. Methods: The clinical data of 273 MPN patients who were diagnosed MPN and treated in the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University from November 2017 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 133 males and 140 females, with a median age M(Q1,Q3)of 56(46, 67) years. The molecular biology and cytogenetic characteristics were detected by second-generation sequencing (NGS) and R+G banding techniques, and the clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients with SF3B1 gene mutation were analyzed. Results: SF3B1 gene mutations were found in 13 patients (4.8%, 13/273).The types of SF3B1 mutations included missense (92.3%, 12/13) and nonsense mutations (7.7%, 1/13).Compared to the non-mutant cohort, patients in SF3B1 mutant cohort had older ages [68(51, 76) vs 56(45, 66)years,P=0.025], higher proportion of splenomegaly [46.2%(6/13) vs 15.8%(41/259),P=0.014]and secondary tumor [23.1%(3/13)vs 3.8%(10/260), P=0.018]with higher proportion of bone marrow blast [0.5%(0, 1.5%) vs 0(0, 0.5%),P=0.002] and lower hemoglobin[(104±36) vs (137±40) g/L,P=0.004] and hematocrit [31%(22%, 40%) vs 41%(35%, 52%),P=0.003]. All of the 10 patients in the SF3B1 mutant cohort whose ring sideroblast (RS) could be evaluated showed no RS formation. The overall survival, thrombosis-free survival and leukemia free survival of MPN patients in SF3B1 mutant cohort were 4.0 (2.0, 6.0), 2.0 (0.5, 4.5) and 4.0 (2.0, 6.0) years, respectively, while patients in the non-mutant cohort were 6.0 (3.0, 10.0), 5.0 (1.0, 8.0), 6.0 (3.0, 10.0) years, respectively, there were no statistical significance between two groups (Z=3.69, 1.66, 2.05, all P>0.05).The secondary tumor free survival of SF3B1 mutant cohort patients was 4.0 (2.0, 6.0) years, which was lower than that of non-mutant cohort patients [5.5 (3.0, 10.0) years, Z=18.18, P<0.001). Conclusions: MPN patients with SF3B1 gene mutations are older, more prone to splenomegaly and secondary tumors. Abstract
The quantum entangled J/ψ→Σ^{+}Σ[over ¯]^{-} pairs from (1.0087±0.0044)×10^{10} J/ψ events taken by the BESIII detector are used to study the nonleptonic two-body weak decays Σ^{+}→nπ^{+} and Σ[over ¯]^{-}→n[over ¯]π^{-}. The CP-odd weak decay parameters of the decays Σ^{+}→nπ^{+} (α_{+}) and Σ[over ¯]^{-}→n[over ¯]π^{-} (α[over ¯]_{-}) are determined to be 0.0481±0.0031_{stat}±0.0019_{syst} and -0.0565±0.0047_{stat}±0.0022_{syst}, respectively. The decay parameter α[over ¯]_{-} is measured for the first time, and the accuracy of α_{+} is improved by a factor of 4 compared to the previous results. The simultaneously determined decay parameters allow the first precision CP symmetry test for any hyperon decay with a neutron in the final state with the measurement of A_{CP}=(α_{+}+α[over ¯]_{-})/(α_{+}-α[over ¯]_{-})=-0.080±0.052_{stat}±0.028_{syst}. Assuming CP conservation, the average decay parameter is determined as ⟨α_{+}⟩=(α_{+}-α[over ¯]_{-})/2=-0.0506±0.0026_{stat}±0.0019_{syst}, while the ratios α_{+}/α_{0} and α[over ¯]_{-}/α[over ¯]_{0} are -0.0490±0.0032_{stat}±0.0021_{syst} and -0.0571±0.0053_{stat}±0.0032_{syst}, where α_{0} and α[over ¯]_{0} are the decay parameters of the decays Σ^{+}→pπ^{0} and Σ[over ¯]^{-}→p[over ¯]π^{0}, respectively.

Abstract
We study the process e^{+}e^{-}→Λ_{c}^{+}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-} at twelve center-of-mass energies from 4.6119 to 4.9509 GeV using data samples collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross sections and effective form factors (|G_{eff}|) are determined with unprecedented precision after combining the single and double-tag methods based on the decay process Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+}. Flat cross sections around 4.63 GeV are obtained and no indication of the resonant structure Y(4630), as reported by Belle, is found. In addition, no oscillatory behavior is discerned in the |G_{eff}| energy dependence of Λ_{c}^{+}, in contrast to what is seen for the proton and neutron cases. Analyzing the cross section together with the polar-angle distribution of the Λ_{c}^{+} baryon at each energy point, the moduli of electric and magnetic form factors (|G_{E}| and |G_{M}|) are extracted and separated. For the first time, the energy dependence of the form factor ratio |G_{E}/G_{M}| is observed, which can be well described by an oscillatory function.

Abstract
AMPA receptors are members of the glutamate receptor family and mediate a fast component of excitatory synaptic transmission at virtually all central synapses. Thus, their functional characteristics are a critical determinant of brain function. We evaluate intolerance of each GRIA gene to genetic variation using 3DMTR and report here the functional consequences of 52 missense variants in GRIA1-4 identified in patients with various neurological disorders. These variants produce changes in agonist EC50, response time course, desensitization, and/or receptor surface expression. We predict that these functional and localization changes will have important consequences for circuit function, and therefore likely contribute to the patients' clinical phenotype. We evaluated the sensitivity of variant receptors to AMPAR-selective modulators including FDA-approved drugs to explore potential targeted therapeutic options.

Abstract
Lipid droplets (LDs) is a newly essential organelle, which participates in carious physiological and pathological processes. LDs are considered as potential markers for disease diagnosis. Specific imaging of LDs is useful to understand their basic biological function and to diagnose diseases. Here we designed and synthesized two fluorescent probes based on the low polarity and high viscosity in LDs. The terminal probe ZH-2 exhibits lipophilicity, NIR emission, viscosity sensitivity, and LDs specificity. The probe has been successfully used for visualizing LDs metabolism, discriminating between normal and cancerous cells, and diagnosing fatty liver disease.

Abstract
A narrow structure in the pΛ[over ¯] system near the mass threshold, named as X(2085), is observed in the process e^{+}e^{-}→pK^{-}Λ[over ¯] with a statistical significance greater than 20σ. Its spin and parity are determined for the first time to be J^{P}=1^{+} in an amplitude analysis, with a statistical significance greater than 5σ over other quantum numbers (0^{-},1^{-} and 2^{+}). The pole positions of X(2085) are measured to be M_{pole}=(2084_{-2}^{+4}±9) MeV and Γ_{pole}=(58_{-3}^{+4}±25) MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The analysis is based on the study of the process e^{+}e^{-}→pK^{-}Λ[over ¯] and uses the data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energies sqrt[s]=4.008, 4.178, 4.226, 4.258, 4.416, and 4.682 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 8.35 fb^{-1}.
