Abstract
Urban coach cabin is an important indoor environment for long journey, formaldehyde (HCHO) is a carcinogenic gas and damages indoor air quality of cabins. In order to control the HCHO pollution, the air samples inside cabins were analysed with a thermally desorbed gas chromatograph, and the HCHO diffusion was simulated with a methodology of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Results show that through the experimental monitoring, the HCHO pollution level range from 33.6 to 142.3 μg/m3, decrease quickly with time, and the attenuation trendline is univariate cubic equation. Through the CFD simulation, the indoor temperature and HCHO level of cabin front and rear ends are higher than ones of other areas for the insufficient air supply and the unreasonable arrangement of air exhaust outlet. Moreover, through the CFD simulation, the HCHO level decreases with height growth of breathing zone and increasing air supply speed, and fresh air lead to diffusion of HCHO pollution from cabin seat area to the surrounding area. Through the CFD simulation, the HCHO pollution under the wind speeds of 3~5 m/s is higher than the HCHO limit level from indoor air standard of China vehicles, which shows that the HCHO emission of cabin seat has an important impact on airborne HCHO pollution inside vehicle cabins.

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) combined CHD(coronary heart disease) long-term prognosis. Method:One hundred and twenty cases of OSA combind CHD in gansu province people's hospital sleep center were randomly divided into two groups according to apnea hypopnea index(AHI), group A(light, medium OSA and CHD) 60 cases, group B(severe OSA and CHD) 60 cases. Contrast analysis and comparison between two groups PSG(Polysomnography) parameters, and the differences between the degree of coronary artery lesions and CPAP therapy effect on coronary long-term prognosis. Result:Compared group B with A, AHI, BMI, LSaO2, Epworth sleepiness scale(ESS) score, the amino acid homocysteine, the prevalence of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, the prevalence of acute myocardial infarction(ami) and vascular lesions and SYNTAX score increased significantly(P<0.05). The ejection fraction decreased significantly(P<0.05). The BNP(Brain natriuretic peptide) and cTNT(cardiac troponin, cTn) concentration there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). CPAP treatment(30.0±4.2) months later, Group B: CAPA + conventional treatment group, compared with the simple routine LSaO2, ejection fraction increased significantly(P<0.05), AHI, cardiovascular adverse events, vascular lesions, SYNTAX score, the BNP and TNT concentration significantly reduced(P<0.05); Group A: AHI, decreased significantly(P<0.05), LSaO2increased significantly(P<0.05), ejection fraction, cardiovascular adverse events, vascular lesions, SYNTAX score, there was no significant difference between the BNP and TNT concentration; Survival analysis showed that: Group A CPAP+conventional treatment group cumulative survival rate higher than the conventional treatment group, but there was no statistically significant difference(P=0.260). Group B: CPAP+conventional treatment group total survival rate was significantly higher than that of the conventional treatment group(P<0.001); Conclusion:With the increase of the severity of OSA, OSA merge CHD coronary artery pathological changes degree aggravating, CPAP therapeutic benefit the long-term prognosis of CHD.

Abstract
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a serious microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus.The main pathological features of DN include glomerular sclerosis and renal tubular interstitial fibrosis, which results in epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) and excessive extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition.Transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) is a critical factor that regulates the manifestation of renal fibrosis.Smad2 and Smad3 are the main downstream of the TGF-β1 pathway. Ski-related novel protein N(SnoN) is a negative regulator of TGF-β1, and inhibits the activation of the TGF-β1/Smad2/3 signalling pathway. In this study, the expression of Smad2 and Smad3 proteins, SnoN mRNA, SnoN proteins, and the ubiquitination levels of SnoN were determined in DN rats and renal tubular epithelial cells(NRK52E cells). Knockdown and overexpression of Smad2 or Smad3 in NRK52E cells were used to investigate the specific roles of Smad2 and Smad3 in the development of high glucose-induced renal tubular fibrosis, with a specific focus on their effect on the regulation of SnoN expression. Our study demonstrated that Smad3 could inhibit SnoN expression and increase ECM deposition in NRK52E cells, to promote high glucose-induced renal tubular fibrosis. In contrast, Smad2 could induce SnoN expression and reduce ECM deposition, to inhibit high glucose-induced fibrosis. The underlying mechanism involves regulation of SnoN expression. These findings provide a novel mechanism to understanding the significant role of the TGF-β1/ Smad2/3 pathway in DN.

Abstract
The2H(d,p)3H reaction is one of the most crucial reactions in the Big Bang nucleosynthesis (BBN). It is of particular interest to investigate this kind of reactions in plasma environments, generated by high intensity lasers, which are similar to real astrophysical conditions. We have experimentally investigated the2H(d,p)3H reaction using laser-driven counter-streaming collisionless plasmas at the Shenguang-II laser facility. CR-39 track detectors are widely employed as the main diagnostics in such experiments and laser-driven ion acceleration. In this work, we performed calibration of CR-39 track detectors with monoenergetic protons from the tandem accelerator, and then presented their track diameters for proton energies ranging from 300 keV to 2.5 MeV and for etching times between 4 and 28 hours. In addition, we recommended the optimal etching time at the typical etching conditions, which will be very useful for the following massive data analysis from the CR-39 detectors.

Abstract
The (p, γ) resonance is a good way to produce monoenergetic γ rays. It becomes an important tool for studying photonuclear reactions. In this work, 13C(p, γ)14N resonance is studied to produce 9.17 MeV γ ray using the 2 × 1.7 MV tandem accelerator at CIAE. The flux of 9.17 MeV γ was determined to be 2.3 × 105/s. 197Au photoneutron cross section was measured to be 45.4 ± 6.9 mb under the irradiation of 13C(p, γ)14N resonance γ -source. The value is close to the previous results. It certificates that we have developed an experimental method for photonuclear reaction study.

Abstract
A number of studies have reported the upregulation and functional roles of Jumonji domain-containing protein 6 (JMJD6) in various types of cancer. However, little is known regarding the clinical significance of JMJD6 in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), particularly in terms of large-cohort data. In the present study, bioinformatics analysis was performed, using the University of California Santa Cruz Xena Browser and the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis 2 server, based on the Cancer Genome Atlas HNSCC cohort. In addition, a validation cohort was constructed based on 98 HNSCC cases. JMJD6 overexpression and knockdown, colony-formation, Transwell and cell viability assays were performed. JMJD6 was highly expressed in HNSCC samples and was associated with advanced pathological stage. However, no significant association was observed between JMJD6 expression levels and overall survival or disease-free survival times of patients with HNSCC. Subsequent in vitro assays indicated that overexpression of JMJD6 promoted malignant progression of HNSCC, by regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Nevertheless, JMJD6 overexpression had no significant effects on the viability of HNSCC cells treated with 5-fluorouracil or cisplatin. Thus, it can be concluded that JMJD6 may function as a marker of HNSCC at advanced stage, however with no effect on drug resistance or prognosis. For patients with advanced HNSCC and high JMJD6 expression, rational chemotherapy may be more beneficial than radical surgery, considering their quality of life.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The pathogenesis of tongue cancer (TA) has not been fully illustrated. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is correlated with the precancerous lesion of oral cavity mucosa and malignant transformation. The focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and gap junction protein connexin 43 (Cx43) are involved in the occurrence and progression of tumors. This study aimed to investigate the effect of celecoxib on the proliferation, malignant transformation, and expression of FAK and Cx43 proteins. MATERIALS AND METHODS Healthy male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats (4 months old) were divided into control, model and celecoxib group. 7,12-dimethylbenzanthracene (DMBA) was used to generate tongue mucosal carcinoma, coupled with celecoxib intervention. At 8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks after induction, the rat survival status, the tumor formation rate and the tongue tissue morphology were observed. Meanwhile, the expression of FAK and Cx43 was also evaluated by using immunohistochemistry (IHC). RESULTS Tumor occurrence rates after induction were 0, 26.67%, 66.67%, and 80% at 8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks, respectively. The celecoxib treatment decreased such rats to 0, 0, 0, and 13.33%, respectively (p<0.05 compared to model group). No significant change was observed in control group, whilst model group had mild to severe hyperplasia and squamous carcinoma with elongated time. Celecoxib treatment significantly improved the tissue morphology (p<0.05). The model group also had elevated FAK and depressed Cx43 protein expression (p<0.05). With elongated time, the FAK expression was further increased whilst Cx43 protein was depressed (p<0.05 compared to model group). CONCLUSIONS The focal application of celecoxib effectively inhibited the DMBA-induced rat TA, possibly via regulating FAK and CX43 protein expression, and inhibiting oral epidermal hyperplasia.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the differences between two types of decompression for treating large mandibular odontogenic cysts. MATERIALS AND METHODS This retrospective, cohort study included patients who were diagnosed for large mandibular odontogenic cysts from January 2015 to April 2018 and underwent two different types of decompression based on removal or retention of the cyst wall. The primary outcome was the percentage of the residual cyst area within 1 year after surgery. We used the propensity score matching (PSM) to balance the covariates of the two groups, and the primary outcome was analyzed by the non-inferiority test. RESULTS A total of 93 cases were included in our study. After 1 year, the wall removal group was non-inferior to the wall retaining group in terms of cyst area, cyst volume, and the difference between the HU values of the original cyst region and the normal mandible. In subgroup analysis, we found there were no differences between two groups in the percentage of patients in whom the cystic area was reduced by 90% after 1 year. CONCLUSION Our findings suggest that the wall removal group showed better results than the cyst wall retaining group in large mandibular odontogenic cysts.

Abstract
Existing studies have typically investigated only the association between single pollutants and health outcomes. However, in the real world, people are exposed to multiple air pollutants simultaneously. The effect of air pollutants on emergency department (ED) visits has not been previously studied in the Sichuan Basin, which is one of the most polluted areas. We collected nonaccidental, respiratory and cardiovascular daily ED visits and daily concentrations of PM2.5, PMc, CO, SO2, NO2 and O3 in Chengdu, China, from 2014 to 2016. A weighted variable for the combination of multiple air pollutants was constructed to assess the joint adverse health effects. Each air pollutant was assigned a health-related weight, which indicated the pollutant's relative contribution to the joint effect. The effects on specific subpopulations (males and females; 15-65 years old and >65 years old) were also examined. With an increase of 10 μg/m3 of the combined multiple air pollutants, the daily ED visits for nonaccidental, respiratory and cardiovascular causes increased by 0.96% (95% CI: 0.51%-1.39%), 1.19% (95% CI: 0.53%, 1.85%) and 4.36% (95% CI: 1.06%, 7.76%) at lag 1, respectively. Males presented more pronounced effects, except for cardiovascular disease, than females. Elderly individuals were found to be more sensitive than young individuals. For nonaccidental and respiratory diseases, the contributions of particulate matter (PM) were dominant among the air pollutants, whereas cardiovascular disease was mainly affected by gaseous air pollutants. The combination of multiple air pollutants was significantly associated with ED visits in the Sichuan Basin, China. The joint effect of the combination of multiple air pollutants was highest for cardiovascular disease at lag 1. The relative contributions of individual pollutants varied by disease and subpopulation. These findings suggest that under different pollution scenarios, preventive strategies should target those with different diseases and different subpopulations.

Abstract
In this study, we investigated the sources of organic pollutants associated with fine (PM2.5) and coarse (PM2.5-10) atmospheric particulate matter in Doha, Qatar based on an eight-month sampling campaign conducted from May to December 2015. Multiple organic compound tracers including 36 PAH members, 25 n-alkane homologs, 17 hopanes, and 12 steranes were used for organic aerosols source apportionment. Source apportionment based on specific molecular markers, molecular diagnostic ratios/indices, and positive matrix factorization (PMF) modeling showed that similar sources are responsible for both fine- and coarse-particle organic pollutants. PMF analysis showed that biogenic aerosols, fugitive dust emissions, gasoline engine emissions, diesel engine emissions, and heavy oil combustion were the five main pollution sources of organic aerosols, which agreed well with the results from the diagnostic ratios analysis. The conditional bivariate probability functions (CPF) and potential source contribution function (PSCF) indicated that both regional (i.e., mixed biogenic/secondary particles and oil refinery/shipping emissions) and local sources contributed to airborne organic aerosol concentrations observed at the site, depending on the wind speed and direction. It appears that the relatively high levels of organic pollutants were contributed by local anthropogenic sources, such as fossil fuel combustion, vehicular emissions, and fugitive dust emissions. The high levels of local contributions indicated that there might be great opportunities for Qatar to considerably reduce emissions so that population exposures to carbonaceous aerosols and the public health risks associated with air pollution can be minimized. Implications: Multiple organic tracers and various source apportionment techniques have been used for convincing source apportionment. It was found that both long-range and local sources have a significant impact on atmospheric carbonaceous particles in the area, depending on the wind conditions. Relatively high levels of organic pollutants attributed to local anthropogenic sources indicate that there are great opportunities for Qatar to establish and implement more efficient pollution control measures and policies. Regional sources such as petroleum refineries and shipping-vessels emissions in the Gulf region should also be regulated and managed through regional cooperation to improve the air quality in the region.

Abstract
Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition in renal tubular epithelial cells are critical to diabetic nephropathy (DN) pathogenesis, but the underlying mechanisms remain undefined. Bone morphogenetic protein 7 (BMP-7) inhibits EMT and ECM accumulation in renal tubular epithelial cells cultured in presence of high glucose. Meanwhile, miRNA-21 (miR-21) downregulates Smad7, promoting EMT and ECM deposition. However, the association of BMP-7 with miR-21/Smad7 in DN is unknown. Here, NRK-52E cells incubated in presence of high glucose and STZ-induced C57BL diabetic mice were considered in vitro and in vivo models of DN, respectively. In both models, BMP-7 (mRNA/protein) amounts were decreased as well as Smad7 protein expression, while miR-21 expression and TGF-β1/Smad3 pathway activation were enhanced, accompanied by enhanced EMT and ECM deposition. Further, addition of BMP-7 human recombinant cytokine (rhBMP-7) and injection of the BMP-7 overexpression plasmid in diabetic mice markedly downregulated miR-21 and upregulated Smad7, reduced Smad3 activation without affecting TGF-β1 amounts, and prevented EMT and ECM accumulation. MiR-21 overexpression in the in vitro model downregulated Smad7, promoted EMT and ECM accumulation without affecting BMP-7 amounts, and miR-21 downregulation reversed it. By interfering with BMP-7 and miR-21 expression in high glucose conditions, miR-21 amounts and Smad3 phosphorylation were further decreased. Smad7 was then upregulated, and EMT and ECM deposition were inhibited; these effects were reversed after miR-21 overexpression. These findings suggest that BMP-7 decreases renal fibrosis in DN by regulating miR-21/Smad7 signaling, providing a theoretical basis for the development of novel and effective therapeutic drugs for DN.

Abstract
The NOvA experiment has seen a 4.4σ signal of ν[over ¯]_{e} appearance in a 2 GeV ν[over ¯]_{μ} beam at a distance of 810 km. Using 12.33×10^{20} protons on target delivered to the Fermilab NuMI neutrino beamline, the experiment recorded 27 ν[over ¯]_{μ}→ν[over ¯]_{e} candidates with a background of 10.3 and 102 ν[over ¯]_{μ}→ν[over ¯]_{μ} candidates. This new antineutrino data are combined with neutrino data to measure the parameters |Δm_{32}^{2}|=2.48_{-0.06}^{+0.11}×10^{-3} eV^{2}/c^{4} and sin^{2}θ_{23} in the ranges from (0.53-0.60) and (0.45-0.48) in the normal neutrino mass hierarchy. The data exclude most values near δ_{CP}=π/2 for the inverted mass hierarchy by more than 3σ and favor the normal neutrino mass hierarchy by 1.9σ and θ_{23} values in the upper octant by 1.6σ.

Abstract
Ammonia-rich lagoon supernatant was treated using anammox process in an integrated fixed-film activated sludge (IFAS) laboratory reactor. Effective anammox activities were demonstrated over 259 days of operation. The ammonium removal efficiency reached 94% in Phase I with influent concentrations of NH4+, NO2- and chemical oxygen demand (COD) at 250 mg-N/L, 325 mg-N/L, and 145 mg-COD/L, and reached 88% in Phase II at 420 mg-N/L, 525 mg-N/L, and 305 mg-COD/L. When supplemented with nitritation effluent for nitrite sources in Phase III, the influent COD concentration increased to 583 mg-COD/L without loss of ammonia removal efficiency (87%). The specific anammox activity was higher in biofilm than in the suspended flocs (P < 0.05), increased from Phase I to II (P < 0.05), and decreased in Phase III. Ammonia removal related genes were quantified using qPCR. Results showed higher anammox gene (AMX nirS) prevalence in biofilm, while denitrification genes (nosZ and narG) were higher in flocs (P < 0.05). Microbial community analysis showed that the seeded anammox bacteria Candidatus Brocadia was maintained at 19% in the biofilm and only 0.3% in the flocs. The major taxa in the flocs were related to denitrifiers. The floc community was affected largely under high COD conditions, but the biofilm community was not. These results suggest that the anammox activity in biofilm is resilient to high COD loadings, due to the existence of flocs with denitrification activity. The segregation of bacterial communities between biofilm and flocs in the anammox IFAS system resulted in high ammonia removal efficiency and resistance to high organic loadings.

Abstract
Emerging evidence suggests that alternative splicing (AS) is modified in cancer and is associated with cancer progression. Systematic analysis of AS signature in glioblastoma (GBM) is lacking and is greatly needed. We profiled genome-wide AS events in 498 GBM patients in TCGA using RNA-seq data, and splicing network and prognostic predictor were built by integrated bioinformatics analysis. Among 45,610 AS events in 10,434 genes, we detected 1,829 AS events in 1,311 genes, and 1,667 AS events in 1,146 genes that were significantly associated with overall survival and disease-free survival of GBM patients, respectively. Five potential feature genes, S100A4, ECE2, CAST, ASPH, and LY6K, were discovered after network mining as well as correlation analysis between AS and gene expression, most of which were related to carcinogenesis and development. Multivariate survival model analysis indicated that these five feature genes could classify the prognosis at AS event and gene expression level. This report opens up a new avenue for exploration of the pathogenesis of GBM through AS, thus more precisely guiding clinical treatment and prognosis judgment.

Abstract
Renal tubular epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is the main pathological change in diabetic renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis. Mounting evidence indicates that the inhibitor of differentiation 2 (Id2) protein acts as a negative regulatory factor in organ fibrosis and can inhibit or reverse the process of fibrosis. However, its specific regulatory mechanism is not clear. Diabetes mellitus (DM) rat models were established by injecting rats with streptozotocin and sacrificing them after 16 weeks. Rat renal tubular epithelial cells (NRK-52E) were cultured with normal and high glucose. Immunohistochemical analysis, double immunofluorescence staining, co-immunoprecipitation, Western blot analysis, and real-time polymerase chain reaction were used to determine the expression of Id2, Twist, Smad1/5/8, E-cadherin, α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), and collagen Ⅳ. The results showed that bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP-7) upregulated the expression of Id2 against high-glucose-induced EMT and extracellular matrix secretion. Moreover, only the simultaneous knockdown of Smad1, Smad5, and Smad8 downregulated the expression of Id2, which was not altered by the individual knockdown of Smad1, Smad5, and Smad8. Basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors were essential for Id2 to regulate the role of downstream target genes, and Twist was a bHLH transcription factor. Therefore, the expression of Twist was examined in this study. Twist was found to be highly expressed in the kidney of DM rats and renal tubular epithelial cells cultured with high glucose. The overexpression of Id2 did not alter the expression of Twist, but the interaction between Id2 and Twist was enhanced. In conclusion, the data showed the specific mechanism underlying Id2 negative regulation in diabetic renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis.

Abstract
Decentralized wastewater treatment represents a promising sustainable option for future wastewater management. Blackwater collected from toilets contains high concentrations of organic matter, ideal for energy recovery using anaerobic digestion. Up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactors treating conventional toilet (CT, 9 L water per flush) and vacuum toilet (VT, 1 L water per flush) blackwater with increments of loadings were successfully operated to steady state in three phases. The organic loading rates were maintained at comparable levels between the two reactors. The methanisation rates were 0.23-0.29 and 0.41-0.48 gCH4-COD/gfeedCOD in the CT and VT reactors, and the COD removal rates were 72% and 89%, respectively. The enriched microbial consortia and the community dynamics under different loading phases were compared. The rank abundance distributions and alpha-diversity showed that archaeal communities were predominated by mono-enrichments in both CT and VT reactors, while bacterial communities showed lower diversity in the VT reactor. Through principal coordinates analysis (beta-diversity), clear divergences of archaeal and bacterial communities between the CT and VT reactors were revealed, and the archaeal community developed at a slower rate than the bacterial community. The enriched archaea were hydrogenotrophic methanogens, Methanolinea in the CT reactor (56.6%), and Methanogenium in the VT reactor (62.3%). The enriched bacteria were Porphyromonadaceae in both CT (15.9%) and VT (13.4%) reactors, sulfate-reducing bacteria in the CT reactor, and Fibrobacteraceae in the VT reactor (13.8%). Links between enriched consortia and ammonia stress were discussed. Isotope fraction analysis of the biogas showed a slight shift from acetoclastic methanogenesis to hydrogenotrophic methanogenesis. A closer look into the predicted metagenomic functional profiles showed agreeing results, where hydrogenotrophic methanogenesis and fhs gene abundances were higher in the VT reactor. We demonstrated that different blackwater types enriched different microbial consortia, probably due to ammonia concentrations and sulfate loadings, which should be taken into consideration for practical applications.

Abstract
Attached-growth wastewater processes are currently used in water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs) for required upgrades due to an increase in influent loading or to reach more stringent discharge criteria. Yet, the distribution and long-term inhibitory effects of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in attached-growth biological wastewater processes and their impact on involved microbial communities are poorly understood at relevant, low concentrations. Retention, distribution, and long-term inhibitory effect of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-coated AgNPs were evaluated in bench-scale moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBRs), achieving soluble organic matter removal, over a 64 day exposure to nominal concentrations of 10 and 100 μg/L. Distributions of continuously added AgNPs were characterized in the influent, bioreactor, and effluent of MBBRs using single particle inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (spICP-MS). Aerobic heterotrophic biofilms in MBBRs demonstrated limited retention capacity for AgNPs over long-term exposure, with release of AgNPs, and Ag-rich biofilm sloughed from the carriers. Continuous exposure to both influent AgNP concentrations significantly decreased soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) removal efficiency (11% to 31%) and reduced biofilm viability (8% to 30%). Specific activities of both intracellular dehydrogenase (DHA) and extracellular α-glucosidase (α-Glu) and protease (PRO) enzymes were significantly inhibited (8% to 39%) with an observed NP dose-dependent intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and shift in biofilm microbial community composition by day 64. Our results indicated that long-term exposure to AgNPs in biofilm processes at environmentally relevant concentrations can impact the treatment process stability and the quality of the discharged effluent.

Abstract
Objective To analyze the changes and correlation between inflammation and Klotho expression in kidney tissue of mice with acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by cisplatin, and to explore the role and possible mechanism of Klotho in AKI induced by cisplatin. Methods Eighteen male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 0-day group, 1-day group and 3-day group with 6 mice in each group. The mice were killed at 0, 1 and 3 days after a single intraperitoneal injection of 25 mg/kg of cisplatin, and the serum and kidney tissues were collected. The content of serum creatinine (Scr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were measured by biochemical analyzer, and the pathological changes of kidney tissues were observed by HE staining. Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3), Klotho, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), phosphorylated STAT3 (p-STAT3), nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB), phosphorylated NF-kappa B (p-NF-κB) were detected by Western blot analysis. Spearman rank correlation test was used to analyze the correlations. Results The content of serum Scr and BUN in 1-day and 3-day groups were significantly higher than those in 0-day group, and inflammatory cell infiltration, renal tubular epithelial cell exfoliation, edema and accumulation of cell fragments were seen in 1-day and 3-day groups. In the 3-day group, the content of NGAL, TNF-α, NLRP3, p-STAT3, STAT3, p-NF-κB and NF-κB proteins in renal tissues significantly increased, and the expression of TNF-α, p-STAT3 and STAT3 increased in a time-dependent manner. The expression of Klotho decreased in a time-dependent manner in the 1-day and 3-day groups, and the expression of NGAL, TNF-α, NLRP3, p-STAT3, and p-NF-κB were significantly negatively correlated with the expression of Klotho. Conclusion The activation of STAT3/NF-κB pathway by Klotho is involved in the regulation of the occurrence and development of AKI induced by cisplatin in mice.
