Abstract
1. The product of alpha-acetylenic oxidation of N-(5-pyrrolidinopent-3-ynyl)-succinimide (BL 14) by rat liver preparations was identified as N-(5-pyrrolidino-2-hydroxypent-3-ynyl)succinimide, by mass spectral analysis of metabolites of deuterium-labelled and non-labelled substrate. 2. The synthesis and physicochemical characteristics of the metabolite are reported. 3. Substantial amounts of the metabolite were obtained in preparations from phenobarbital-treated rats, while only minute amounts were formed by non-induced preparations. 4. Evidence for the involvement of an inducible cytochrome P-450 system in effecting this alpha-acetylenic oxidation is presented.

Abstract
A number of N,N-dialkyl-3-phenylpropyn-2-amines 7 have been prepared and tested for their biological action. Certain analogues show tryptamine-like behavior effects in mice. The tryptamine-like activity of these compounds appears to be controlled by their lipophilicity. These compounds show only weak inhibition of rat liver monoamine oxidase. Although these compounds exhibit tryptamine-like action, experiments seem to indicate that there is no interaction with the tryptamine receptors.

Abstract
All the dimethylene-interrupted methyl octadecadiynoates have been synthesised and the gas-liquid chromatographic behaviour of these isomers was studied on polar [Carbowax 20M, FFAP, DEGA, DEGS and Silar 10C (recently renamed as Apolar 10C)], semi-polar (XE-60) and non-polar (SE-30, OV-101 and Apiezon L) stationary phases. The possibility of identification and separation of these isomers is discussed. The delta3a,7a isomer was found to decompose on most polar phases and the delta2a,6a isomer could not be eluted from the Carbowax 20M phase.

Abstract
The fibrinolytic activity of nine 2-phenethynylcyclopropanecarboxylates was measured in the hanging clot test. The structure-activity relationship is given by log 1/C equals 0.54 log P + 2.01 where P is the octanol-water partition coefficient of the carboxylate ion pair and C is the molar concentration of the drug. The equation obtained for the cyclopropanecarboxylates is compared with similar equations for benzoates, salicylates, and N-phenylanthranilates.

Abstract
Abstract
The thiolactam analogue of oxotremorine (I) has been prepared and examined for muscarinic activity in mice and on guinea-pig ileal preparations. It is inactive in itself, but is transformed in vivo to oxotremorine (II), which has been identified in the urine of mice. The urine also contains 1-(2-oxopyrrolidino)-4-pyrrolidino-2-butanone (III) which is formed non-enzymatically from I under acidic conditions, but does not display any acetylcholine-like properties in vivo or in vitro. Oxotremorine is not formed from I in vitro.
