Abstract
While hydrogels enable a variety of applications in wearable sensors and electronic skins, they are susceptible to fatigue fracture during cyclic deformations owing to their inefficient fatigue resistance. Herein, acrylated β-cyclodextrin with bile acid is self-assembled into a polymerizable pseudorotaxane via precise host-guest recognition, which is photopolymerized with acrylamide to obtain conductive polymerizable rotaxane hydrogels (PR-Gel). The topological networks of PR-Gel enable all desirable properties in this system due to the large conformational freedom of the mobile junctions, including the excellent stretchability along with superior fatigue resistance. PR-Gel based strain sensor can sensitively detect and distinguish large body motions and subtle muscle movements. The three-dimensional printing fabricated sensors of PR-Gel exhibit high resolution and altitude complexity, and real-time human electrocardiogram signals are detected with high repeating stability. PR-Gel can self-heal in air, and has highly repeatable adhesion to human skin, demonstrating its great potential in wearable sensors.

Abstract
Ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) has been regarded as a powerful tool for sequence-controlled polymerization. However, the traditional entropy-driven ROMP of macrocyclic olefins suffers from the lack of ring strain and poor regioselectivity, whereas the relay-ring-closing metathesis polymerization inevitably brings some unnecessary auxiliary structure into each monomeric unit. We developed a macrobicyclic olefin system bearing a sacrificial silyloxide bridge on the α,β'-positions of the double bond as a new class of sequence-defined monomer for regioselective ROMP. The monomeric sequence information is implanted in the macro-ring, while the small ring, a 3-substituted cyclooctene structure with substantial ring tension, can provide not only narrow polydispersity, but also high regio-/stereospecificity. Besides, the silyloxide bridge can be sacrificially cleaved by desilylation and deoxygenation reactions to provide clean-structured, non-auxiliaried polymers.

Abstract
Self-assembly potential of new amphiphilic block copolymers containing dextran (Mn 4500, 8000, 15,000) and a semi-rigid deoxycholic acid-oligoethyleneglycol polyester (Mn 2500-8800, 2 or 4 ethyleneglycol units), was evaluated as a function of copolymer composition and self-assembly procedure, using dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy. Addition of copolymer solution to water provided small star-like micelles (∼ 100 nm), while addition of water to copolymer solution led to various morphologies and sizes (60-600 nm), depending on polymer composition. Worm-like micelles were obtained from a copolymer containing dextran with Mn 4500 and 66 wt% polyester, and vesicles were formed by copolymers prepared from dextran with Mn 8000 and containing 46 wt% polyester. Presence of a longer oligoethyleneglycol decreased the size of micelles and vesicles due to an enhanced flexibility of the polyester hydrophobic block. The results allow the selection of the most appropriate parameters to obtain the desired aggregate characteristics.

Abstract
Cancer has been a threat to human health, so its treatment is a huge challenge to the present medical field. One of commonly used methods is the controlled release of anticancer drug to reduce the dose for patients, increase the stability of drug treatment and minimize side effects. Cyclodextrin is a kind of cyclic oligosaccharide produced by amylase hydrolysis. Because cyclodextrin contains a cavity structure and active hydroxyl groups, it has a positive effect on the study of the controlled release of anticancer drugs. This article reviews the controlled release of current anticancer drugs based on cyclodextrins as a "flexible switch", and discusses the classification of different types of release systems, highlighting their role in cancer treatment. Moreover, the opportunities and challenges of cyclodextrin as a magic switch in the controlled release of anticancer drugs are discussed.

Abstract
The limited source of fossil-fuel and the predominance of petroleum-based chemistry in the manufacturing of commodity polymers has generated tremendous interest in replacing the fossil source-based polymers with renewable counterparts. The field of sustainable elastomers has grown in the past three decades, from a few examples to a plethora of reports in modern polymer science and technology. Applications of elastomers are huge and vital for everyday living. The present review aims to portray a birds-eye view of various sustainable elastomers obtained from the wide family of acyclic terpenes (renewable feedstocks from different plant oils) via various polymerization techniques and their properties, as well as plausible developments in the future applications of sustainable polymers. Not only the homopolymers, but also their copolymers with both green and commercial fossil based comonomers, are reviewed.

Abstract
The bulk properties of a copolymer are directly affected by monomer sequence, yet efficient, scalable, and controllable syntheses of sequenced copolymers remain a defining challenge in polymer science. We have previously demonstrated, using polymers prepared by a step-growth synthesis, that hydrolytic degradation of poly(lactic- co-glycolic acid)s is dramatically affected by sequence. While much was learned, the step-growth mechanism gave no molecular weight control, unpredictable yields, and meager scalability. Herein, we describe the synthesis of closely related sequenced polyesters prepared by entropy-driven ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ED-ROMP) of strainless macromonomers with imbedded monomer sequences of lactic, glycolic, 6-hydroxy hexanoic, and syringic acids. The incorporation of ethylene glycol and metathesis linkers facilitated synthesis and provided the olefin functionality needed for ED-ROMP. Ring-closing to prepare the cyclic macromonomers was demonstrated using both ring-closing metathesis and macrolactonization reactions. Polymerization produced macromolecules with controlled molecular weights on a multigram scale. To further enhance molecular weight control, the macromonomers were prepared with cis-olefins in the metathesis-active segment. Under these selectivity-enhanced (SEED-ROMP) conditions, first-order kinetics and narrow dispersities were observed and the effect of catalyst initiation rate on the polymerization was investigated. Enhanced living character was further demonstrated through the preparation of block copolymers. Computational analysis suggested that the enhanced polymerization kinetics were due to the cis-macrocyclic olefin being less flexible and having a larger population of metathesis-reactive conformers. Although used for polyesters in this investigation, SEED-ROMP represents a general method for incorporation of sequenced segments into molecular weight-controlled polymers.

Abstract
Bile acids are gaining increasing importance as building blocks in the development of novel polymeric materials. This is evidenced by the growing number of publications advocating the advantages of their incorporation in the design and construction of materials. Composed of a rigid steroid backbone, functional groups with potential towards diverse reactions, and a biocompatible framework, there are various ways in which these molecules can be utilized to afford biomaterials via distinct architectures. Soft materials utilize the intrinsic capacity of bile acids to self-assemble and have seen a range of applications, most notably in the field of drug delivery. On the other hand, there is also the possibility of including bile acids in the polymer backbone, which has been used in the preparation of elastomers. This review discusses a selection of materials that can be prepared using bile acids and the advantages afforded by these molecules. Focus will be on the development of soft and hard materials, where soft materials are described as being held by weak intermolecular interactions, whereas hard materials are mechanically stronger with bile acids covalently incorporated in the polymer network.

Abstract
The macrocycles shown were prepared, then polymerized and copolymerized by ROMP. This gave polymers with free OH or free CO2R groups. Treatment of the polymers having R =t-Bu with trifluoroacetic acid gave polymers with free CO2H groups.

Abstract
Shape-memory polymers (SMP) are versatile stimuli-responsive materials that can switch, upon stimulation, from a temporary to a permanent shape. This advanced functionality makes SMP suitable and promising materials for diverse technological applications, including the fabrication of smart biomedical devices. In this paper, advances in the design of SMP are discussed, with emphasis on materials investigated for medical applications. Future directions necessary to bring SMP closer to their clinical application are also highlighted.
