Abstract
How plasmonic nanostructures modulate the behavior of exciplexes and excimers within materials remains unclear. Thus, advanced knowledge is essential to bridge this gap for the development of optoelectronic devices that leverage the interplay between plasmonic and conjugated polymer hybrid materials. Herein, this work aims to explore the role of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in modulating exciplex and excimer states within the conjugated polymer poly(2,5-di(3,7-dimethyloctyloxy) cyanoterephthalylidene) (PDDCP), known for its photoluminescent and semi-conductive properties, aiming to create innovative composite materials with tailored optical features. The spectral analysis was conducted to investigate the effects of AuNPs on the PDDCP, varying AuNP volume percentages to measure changes in the absorption profile, molar extinction coefficient (ε), absorption cross-section (σa), and optical bandgap (Eg). Fluorescence spectra of the mixture at different volume ratios were also examined to assess exciplex formation, while amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) profiles were analyzed to study the behavior and photochemical stability of the polymer-NP hybrid material. Increasing AuNP volume induced both blue and red shifts in the absorption profile of the PDDCP. Higher AuNPs concentrations correlated with decreased ε and σa, inversely impacting Eg. The emission spectra obtained at varied AuNP volume ratios indicated significantly enhanced exciplex and excimer formations. The ASE profiles remained consistent but showed reduced intensity with increasing AuNPs concentrations, indicating their influence on hybrid material behavior and stability. The findings suggest that AuNPs affect PDDCP's optical characteristics, altering the absorption profile, bandgap, and fluorescence spectra. Furthermore, the observed reduction in ASE intensity highlights their influence on the behavior and photochemical stability of the hybrid material. These results contribute to a better understanding of the versatile applications of plasmonic-conjugated hybrid polymers.

Abstract
We prepared organic polymer poly-3-hexylthiophene (p3ht) nanoparticles (NPs) and graphene oxide (GO)/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composites p3ht NPs-GO/RGO by using the reprecipitation method. We demonstrated that GO/RGO could improve the ordering and planarity of p3ht chains as well as the formation of p3ht NPs, and confirmed the effects of GO/RGO on the fluorescence and carrier transport dynamics of p3ht NPs by using femtosecond fluorescence upconversion and transient absorption (TA) techniques. Ultrafast electron transfer (∼1 ps) between GO/RGO and p3ht NPs quenched the fluorescence of p3ht NPs, indicating excellent properties of p3ht NPs-GO/RGO as the charge transfer complexes. Efficient electron transfer may promote the applications of p3ht NPs-GO/RGO composites in organic polymer solar cells and photocatalysis. Moreover, RGO had stronger interfacial interactions and more matched conduction band energy levels with p3ht NPs than GO did, which implied that p3ht NPs-RGO might have greater application values than p3ht NPs-GO.

Abstract
The use of graphene and its derivatives in the development of electrochemical sensors has been growing in recent decades. Part of this success is due to the excellent characteristics of such materials, such as good electrical and mechanical properties and a large specific surface area. The formation of composites and nanocomposites with these two materials leads to better sensing performance compared to pure graphene and conductive polymers. The increased large specific surface area of the nanocomposites and the synergistic effect between graphene and conducting polymers is responsible for this interesting result. The most widely used methodologies for the synthesis of these materials are still based on chemical routes. However, electrochemical routes have emerged and are gaining space, affording advantages such as low cost and the promising possibility of modulation of the structural characteristics of composites. As a result, application in sensor devices can lead to increased sensitivity and decreased analysis cost. Thus, this review presents the main aspects for the construction of nanomaterials based on graphene oxide and conducting polymers, as well as the recent efforts made to apply this methodology in the development of sensors and biosensors.

Abstract
Oligothiophenes and their aggregates play a dominant role in optoelectronic and light-harvesting applications. Here, we controlled the degree of aggregation of 2,2':5',2″:5'',2‴-quaterthiophene (QTH) to shed light on the impact of the aggregation on the excited state dynamics. QTH aggregation realized the control over the Intersystem Crossing (ISC) rates and, in turn, the formation of triplet excited states via the simple addition of water to QTH solutions in THF. From global target analysis, the time scale was 345.5 ps for ISC for QTHs in THF, but it was 2.33 ns in the case of QTH solutions featuring 70% water. Notably, the excitonic coupling between closely packed QTHs occurred predominantly in the aggregates formed in the presence of large water concentrations. Relaxation dynamics of the resulting QTH-aggregates differed substantially from QTH solutions at lower water content. For example, QTH-aggregates lacked any triplet excited states, and the unusual emission occurs from lower excitonic states from these predominantly H-aggregates.

Abstract
The dynamics of cell-cell adhesion are complicated due to complexities in cellular interactions and intra-membrane interactions. In the present work, we have reconstituted a liposome-based model system to mimic the cell-cell adhesion process. Our model liposome system consists of one fluorescein-tagged and one TRITC (tetramethyl-rhodamine isothiocyanate)-tagged liposome, adhered through biotin-neutravidin interaction. We monitored the adhesion process in liposomes using Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) between fluorescein (donor) and TRITC (acceptor). Occurrence of FRET is confirmed by the decrease in donor lifetime as well as distinct rise time of the acceptor fluorescence. Interestingly, the acceptor's emission exhibits fluctuations in the range of ≈3±1 s. This may be attributed to structural oscillations associated in two adhered liposomes arising from the flexible nature of biotin-neutravidin interaction. We have compared the dynamics in a cell-mimicking liposome system with that in an in vitro live cell system. In the adhered live cell system, we used CPM (7-diethylamino-3-(4-maleimido-phenyl)-4-methylcoumarin, donor) and nile red (acceptor), which are known to stain the membrane of CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary) cells. The dynamics of the adhered membranes of two live CHO cells were observed through FRET between CPM and nile red. The acceptor fluorescence intensity exhibits an oscillation in the time-scale of ≈1±0.75 s, which is faster compared to the reconstituted liposome system, indicating the contributions and involvement of multiple dynamic protein complexes around the cell membrane. This study offers simple reconstituted model systems to understand the complex membrane dynamics using a FRET-based physical chemistry approach.

Abstract
Nitrogen doped graphene quantum dots (NGQDs) were successfully prepared via a hydrothermal method using citric acid and urea as the carbon and nitrogen precursors, respectively. Due to different post-treatment processes, the obtained NGQDs with different surface modifications exhibited blue light emission, while their visible-light absorption was obviously different. To further understand the roles of nitrogen dopants and N-containing surface groups of NGQDs in the photocatalytic performance, their corresponding composites with TiO₂ were utilized to degrade RhB solutions under visible-light irradiation. A series of characterization and photocatalytic performance tests were carried out, which demonstrated that NGQDs play a significant role in enhancing visible-light driven photocatalytic activity and the carrier separation process. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the NGQDs/TiO₂ composites can possibly be attributed to an enhanced visible light absorption ability, and an improved separation and transfer rate of photogenerated carriers.

Abstract
The ecofriendly synthesis of organic semiconductors with heterojunctions is of interest and requires surfactants to stabilize colloidal nanoparticles (NPs) in aqueous solution. The use of conventional surfactants results in p-n heterostructured NPs, in which both p- and n-type semiconductors are phase separated and confined within a core surrounded by the surfactant shell. The performances of these devices, however, are not comparable to those of solid organic semiconductor films. Further efforts are required to understand and control the morphological structure of the nanoparticles to improve their performances. Here, by using a new class of polyethyleneglycol-based surfactant, PEG-C60, we synthesized unique p-n heterostructured water-borne NPs that comprise a p-type semiconductor core and an n-type PEG-C60 shell. We demonstrate that the morphology gives rise to charge separation superior to conventional water-borne NPs. These PEG-C60-based water-borne NPs can, thus, provide a new paradigm in the current field of water-based organic semiconductor colloids.

Abstract
The design of new generation light-harvesting systems based on conjugated polymer nanoparticles (PNPs) is an emerging field of research to convert solar energy into renewable energy. In this Perspective, we focus on the understanding of the light harvesting processes like exciton dynamics, energy transfer, antenna effect, charge carrier dynamics, and other related processes of conjugated polymer-based functional nanomaterials. Spectroscopic investigations unveil the rotational dynamics of the dye molecules inside of PNPs and exciton dynamics of the self-assembled structures. A detailed understanding of the cascade energy transfer for white light and singlet oxygen generation in multiple fluorophores containing a PNP system by time-resolved spectroscopy is highlighted. Finally, ultrafast spectroscopic investigations provide direct insight into the impacts of electron and hole transfer at the interface in the hybrid materials for photocatalysis and photocurrent generation to construct efficient light-harvesting systems.
