Abstract
Fructus Meliae Toosendan (FMT) is the dried and mature fruit of MeLia toosendan Sieb.et Zucc. It contains a variety of chemical constituents and reported to possess a variety of pharmacological activities. This review aims to provide a thorough and organized summary of botany, traditional uses, chemical ingredients, pharmacological actions, toxicity, quality control, and uses. In this review, we have compiled the data regarding FMT from 1994 to 2022 in the databases: Web of Science, PubMed, Google Scholar, CNKI, and Baidu Scholar. The keywords: "Fructus Meliae Toosendan", "botany", "traditional uses","chemical components", "pharmacological activity", "toxicity", "quality control" and "clinical application" have been used to collected the literature published in the online bibliographic databases. Based on the correlation of these documents and FMT, 126 articles were finally selected as references. This paper provides a reasonable summary of the 190 chemical components of FMT and its pharmacological effects and toxicity. Moreover, this paper also compiled the quality control studies and clinical applications. In the future, more experimental studies on FMT are needed to achieve the purpose of toxicity reducing and efficacy enhancing. This comprehensive review of FMT can provide a reference for subsequent relevant studies.

Abstract
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is a common cancer with high mortality. This study aimed to identify its differentially expressed genes (DEGs) using bioinformatics methods. Methods: DEGs were screened from four GEO (Gene Expression Omnibus) gene expression profiles. Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses were performed. A protein–protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed. Expression and prognosis were assessed. Meta-analysis was conducted to further validate prognosis. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) was analyzed to identify diagnostic markers, and a nomogram was developed. Exploration of drugs and immune cell infiltration analysis were conducted. Results: Nine up-regulated and three down-regulated hub genes were identified, with close relations to gastric functions, extracellular activities, and structures. Overexpressed Collagen Type VIII Alpha 1 Chain (COL8A1), Collagen Type X Alpha 1 Chain (COL10A1), Collagen Triple Helix Repeat Containing 1 (CTHRC1), and Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP) correlated with poor prognosis. The area under the curve (AUC) of ADAM Metallopeptidase With Thrombospondin Type 1 Motif 2 (ADAMTS2), COL10A1, Collagen Type XI Alpha 1 Chain (COL11A1), and CTHRC1 was >0.9. A nomogram model based on CTHRC1 was developed. Infiltration of macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells positively correlated with COL8A1, COL10A1, CTHRC1, and FAP. Meta-analysis confirmed poor prognosis of overexpressed CTHRC1. Conclusion: ADAMTS2, COL10A1, COL11A1, and CTHRC1 have diagnostic values in GC. COL8A1, COL10A1, CTHRC1, and FAP correlated with worse prognosis, showing prognostic and therapeutic values. The immune cell infiltration needs further investigations.

Abstract
Toosendanin, a triterpenoid derivative isolated from the barks of Melia toosendan Sieb et Zucc, has been used as an anthelmintic vermifuge against ascaris for more than fifty years in China. In the present study, we investigated the growth inhibition and apoptosis-induced effect of toosendanin on human cancer cells. The result showed that toosendanin significantly suppressed the proliferation of tested human cancer cell lines. The IC(50) values were less than 1.7 x 10(-7) M and U937 was the most sensitive cell line with a IC(50) of 5.4 x 10(-9) M. Flow cytometric analysis revealed that treatment of U937 cells with toosendanin resulted in a dose- and time-dependent accumulation of cells in the S phase with a concomitant decrease in cells processing to G(0)/G(1) phase. The growth inhibition of U937 cells after exposure to toosendanin was subsequently associated with the induction of apoptosis, as evidence by the typical condensed and fragmented nuclei, DNA fragmentation, and exposure of phosphatidylserine on the outer leaflet of plasma membrane. All these results indicated that toosendanin could serve as a potential candidate for anticancer drug.

Abstract
Phytochemical investigation of Ixeris chinensis NAKAI (Asteraceae) has resulted in the isolation of a new guaianolide-type sesquiterpene lactone, ixerochinolide (1) as well as the related glucoside, ixerochinoside (2). In addition, the known guaianolides, 8beta-hydroxy-3-oxo-guaia-4(15),10(14),11(13)-trien-1alpha,5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (8beta-hydroxydehydrozaluzanin), 8beta,15-dihydroxy-2-oxo-guaia-1(10),3,11(13)-trien-5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (lactucin), 3beta,8alpha,10alpha-trihydroxy-guaia-4(15),11(13)-dien-1alpha,5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (10alpha-hydroxy-10,14-dihydro-desacylcynaropicrin) and 3beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy-8beta-(p-hydroxyphenylacetyloxy)-guaia-4(15),10(14),11(13)-trien-1alpha,5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (8-epicrepioside) were identified. The structures were determined on the basis of spectral analyses, especially 1- and 2D NMR. Compound 1 exhibited significant cytotoxicity against human PC-3 tumor cells.

Abstract
In addition to casearlucin A (3), two new clerodane diterpenes, caseamembrols A (1) and B (2) have been isolated from the leaves and twigs of Casearia membranacea by bioassay-guided fractionation. The structures of the new compounds were established on the basis of extensive 1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 1-3 exhibited significant cytotoxicity against human prostate (PC-3) cancer cells.
