Abstract
BackgroundDual-task function is compromised among individuals with prodromal Alzheimer's disease (AD) and others at risk of developing AD. While exercise has been studied as a therapeutic candidate, the activity of social dance might promote dual-task rehabilitation as well or better than conventional exercise.ObjectiveCompare effects of social dance versus home exercise on dual-task function and intervention adherence among individuals with increased risk of developing AD: survivors of breast cancer (BC) with chemotherapy-induced neuropathy (CIN).MethodsFifty-two (n = 52) survivors of BC with CIN-related symptoms and functional deficits were randomized (1:1) to 8 weeks of biweekly physical activity that took the form of partnered AdapTango dance (20 min) or home exercise (45 min) (NCT05114005, registered 08/15/2021). Primary outcome: dual-task function (TUG-Cog counting backward by 3 s). Secondary outcome: adherence. Exploratory outcomes: participant rating of perceived exertion in physical versus cognitive domains and cognitive load during dual-task performance.ResultsBoth interventions improved Timed-Up-and-Go with cognitive task (TUGCog) after 4 weeks (p < 0.001); gains were maintained at 8 weeks of intervention (p < 0.001) and 1 month follow-up (p < 0.001). The dance intervention met adherence feasibility criteria for 8 weeks; exercise met criteria for 4 weeks. The ratio of cognitive to physical exertion was higher for dance (1 to 1) than exercise (0.8 to 1.0; p < 0.001). Dance, only, was associated with reduced cognitive load (p = 0.02).ConclusionsAmong survivors of BC with CIN, small doses of social dance improved dual-task function comparably to larger doses of home exercise, possibly due to differences in cognitive engagement.

Abstract
This study aims to examine the long-term mental and physical health benefits of a 24-week outdoor exercise program after a 12-week follow-up. Forty-seven outpatients with schizophrenia completed a 24-week supervised exercise program twice a week, of whom forty-six were assessed after the follow-up period. Demographic and clinical measures were collected. Physical health was evaluated using anthropometric measures, six minutes walk test, Eurofit and accelerometer. Mental health was evaluated using Rosenberg Self-Esteem scale, Behavioural Exercise Regulations Questionnaire and World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale - Brief Version questionnaires. Participants were assessed at baseline, post-intervention and 12-week follow up. After follow-up, there were significant differences in time, between groups and in time*group in six minutes walk test. Previously observed improvements in functional exercise capacity were lost by 12-week. Flexibility scores were maintained during intervention but worsened significantly by 12-week. On the other hand, participants reported significant improvements in quality of life - physical domain by 12-week. Moderate-to-vigorous physical activity decreased and sedentary behaviour and number of flamingo errors increased but failed to achieve statistical significance. Persons with schizophrenia will lost physical health benefits previously achieved during an outdoor exercise program when supervised exercise cease.

Abstract
Background/Objectives: This study aimed to examine the association between self-perceived cardiorespiratory fitness and health outcomes in long-term breast cancer survivors (LTBCSs) and identify possible predictors in women at least 5 years post-diagnosis. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out involving 80 LTBCSs, divided into three groups according to their self-reported cardiorespiratory fitness levels: very poor/poor (1-2), average (3), and good/very good (4-5). Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected, and this study analyzed variables measured at least five years after diagnosis, focusing on various factors including physical fitness, physical activity (PA) levels, cancer-related fatigue (CRF), mood, pain, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U, and chi-square tests were performed, along with correlation and multiple regression analyses. Cohen's d was used to calculate effect sizes. Results: Among the 80 LTBCSs, 35% reported very poor/poor self-perceived cardiorespiratory fitness, 35% reported average levels, and 30% reported good/very good levels. Individuals with lower self-perceived cardiorespiratory fitness levels showed significant declines in physical fitness, greater physical inactivity, increased CRF, higher pain levels, and a poorer HRQoL (p < 0.05). Regression analysis identified "self-perceived muscle strength" (β = 0.40; p < 0.01) and "nausea and vomiting" (β = -0.37; p < 0.01) as significant predictors of higher self-perceived cardiorespiratory fitness (adjusted r2 = 0.472). Conclusions: These findings highlight the importance of self-perceived cardiorespiratory fitness as a relevant indicator of health outcomes in LTBCSs. Given its association with physical fitness, sedentary behavior, CRF, pain, and HRQoL, assessing patients' perceptions may provide valuable insights for developing tailored rehabilitation strategies. Future interventions should consider both subjective and objective measures to optimize the long-term health and quality of life in this population.

Abstract
PURPOSE To conduct a formative evaluation of ChatEx to increase and maintain exercise among older cancer survivors. METHODS ChatEx is a blended intervention involving 12 weeks of theory-based instant messages and two in-person training sessions. This pilot study comprises three phases: (1)intervention development: developing a message library reviewed by experts; (2)message library pretesting: exploring the views of older cancer survivors toward the message library and making modifications (n = 20); and (3)intervention pilot testing: piloting the ChatEx using a non-randomized quasi-experimental design using quantitative and qualitative methods among cancer survivors aged 65+ who do not meet current exercise guidelines and have completed treatment (n = 40). Feasibility, Acceptability, aerobic and resistance exercise, exercise capacity, grip strength, frailty, quality of life, exercise self-efficacy were assessed as the main outcomes. RESULTS ChatEx had a retention rate of 80%, with most participants having moderate/high levels of engagement with messaging, and 100% attendance at in-person sessions. Compared to wait-list control, the intervention group significantly increased the time spent in aerobic exercise at 24 weeks, as well as resistance exercise at both 12 weeks and 24 weeks. The intervention group also had significantly greater improvement in exercise capacity and exercise self-efficacy than control at 24 weeks. Participant interviews revealed five major themes: positive feedback, facilitators of exercise adherence, barriers to exercise adherence, negative feedback, and suggestions for improvement. CONCLUSION The findings support the feasibility, acceptability, and potential efficacy of ChatEx in increasing exercise behaviour among older cancer survivors. A full-scale trial with a larger and more diverse sample is now warranted.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Intermittent claudication is a peripheral artery disease caused by arteriosclerosis. People with intermittent claudication experience leg cramping during walking, with relief of symptoms during rest. Evidence shows that by participating in supervised exercise therapy and smoking cessation programs, people with intermittent claudication can reduce those symptoms and improve health-related quality of life and maximal walking distance while minimizing the need for an operation. However, implementation of such health-promoting initiatives in clinical practice in Denmark and other countries is limited. This is a protocol presenting the implementation process of supervised exercise therapy and smoking cessation in a region of Denmark. METHODS AND ANALYSIS The implementation process is a collaboration between the municipalities in the Region of Zealand and the Department of Vascular Surgery at University Hospital Zealand. The study uses a convergent mixed-methods prospective clinical cohort design, and the theoretical frame of this implementation process follows the framework for Adapting an existing intervention to a new context (ADAPT). The process involves stakeholder engagement, ongoing evaluation through key performance indicators and relevant outcomes that will inform the implementation process across and within each municipality. DISSEMINATION Dissemination will happen throughout the process through continued meetings with stakeholders and dissemination of performance indicators and outcome results obtained through a database. All information about the study and material will be freely available. The project is registred on Clinicalgov (NCT06299956).

Abstract
PURPOSE To assess the effectiveness of exercise interventions on psychological distress in lung cancer patients and how this effectiveness varies by cancer stage, treatment, intervention type (exercise/with other interventions), exercise mode, duration, and sustained effects over time. METHODS Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating exercise effects on psychological distress were included. Exclusion criteria were studies with less than 50% lung cancer patients, those on pharmacotherapy/psychotherapy, and studies focused solely on breathing exercises. Data sources included PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, CINAHL, and Scopus. Reporting followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines, with analysis via Review Manager 5.4, and quality assessed using Cochrane RoB 2. RESULTS Twenty-two studies with 1524 participants were selected from 611 articles. All intervention groups were compared to usual care. Meta-analysis, including 11 studies, showed significant reductions in anxiety (SMD = - 0.52, 95% CI = - 0.94 to - 0.09, p = .02) and depression (SMD = - 0.55, 95% CI = - 0.89 to - 0.21, p = .001). The subgroup revealed that early-stage patients, surgery alone, engaging in aerobic exercise (with other exercise modes) or combined interventions showed greater effectiveness in reducing anxiety and depression. Regarding sustained effects, exercise interventions showed a significant medium-term effect on reducing anxiety. CONCLUSION Exercise interventions show promise in reducing psychological distress among lung cancer patients. However, further research is needed to optimize these interventions and explore their long-term effects. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS The effectiveness of exercise interventions on psychological distress in lung cancer patients varies by cancer stage, treatment, and intervention type, supporting the use of tailored programs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We proposed the Physical Activity and Cancer Control (PACC) framework in 2007 to help organise, focus, and stimulate research on physical activity in eight cancer control categories: prevention, detection, treatment preparation/coping, treatment coping/effectiveness, recovery/rehabilitation, disease prevention/health promotion, palliation, and survival. METHODS This perspective paper provides a high-level overview of the scientific advances in physical activity research across cancer control categories, summarises current guidelines, updates the PACC framework, identifies remaining and emerging knowledge gaps, and provides future research directions. RESULTS Many scientific advances have been made that are reflected in updated physical activity guidelines for six of the cancer control categories apart from detection and palliation. Nevertheless, the minimal and optimal type, dose, and timing of physical activity across cancer control categories remain unknown, especially for the understudied population subgroups defined by cancer type, age, race/ethnicity, and resource level of regions/countries. CONCLUSION To achieve the full benefit of physical activity in cancer control, future research should use innovative study designs that include diverse at-risk populations and understudied cancer sites. Additionally, effective behaviour change strategies are needed to increase physical activity levels across populations that use implementation science to accelerate the translation from evidence generation into practical, real-world interventions.

Abstract
PURPOSE Numerous randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have shown beneficial exercise effects on fatigue, anxiety and depression and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in breast cancer (BC) patients during and shortly after treatment. Here, we investigated the long-term effects of exercise during chemotherapy for BC on these outcomes. METHODS We invited participants of two highly comparable RCTs that investigated the effects of exercise (EX) (versus usual care (UC)) during chemotherapy in patients with non-metastatic BC (N = 357) to participate in an 8-year follow-up. In both trials, fatigue, anxiety and depression and HRQoL were assessed using the same questionnaires, at multiple timepoints. Linear mixed-effect models were used to compare study arms over time. RESULTS In total, 156 participants (EX = 82; UC = 74) completed the follow-up questionnaires. EX reported comparable general (between-group difference 0.73, 95% confidence interval (- 0.35; 1.80), ES = 0.18) and physical fatigue (0.55 (- 0.55; 1.65), ES = 0.13), small but statistically significantly higher levels of anxiety (1.24 (0.47 to 2.00), ES = 0.39) and depression (1.10 (0.34; 1.85), ES = 0.38), significantly lower global HRQoL (- 5.99 (- 10.65; - 1.32), ES = 0.34) and comparable summary HRQoL (- 1.90 (- 4.70; 0.89), ES = 0.16) compared to UC. CONCLUSION No long-term beneficial effects of exercise during chemotherapy on BC patients' fatigue, anxiety, depression or HRQoL were observed. The less favourable outcomes for mood and HRQoL that were observed 8 years after participation in an exercise intervention may be explained by selective loss-to-follow-up. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS The results highlight the need to incorporate strategies that promote physical activity maintenance after participation in an exercise programme to also counteract long-term detrimental side effects of cancer treatment.

Abstract
The protocol predefined aim of this study is to assess sustained effects of the OptiTrain trial on several health outcomes, 5 years after the baseline assessment. The OptiTrain study was a prospective, randomised controlled trial with 240 patients with breast cancer undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy that compared the effects of 16 weeks of two exercise programs, RT-HIIT and AT-HIIT, with usual care (UC). After a 5-year follow-up, eligible participants were evaluated for the primary outcome of cancer-related fatigue (CRF) and secondary outcomes including quality of life, symptoms, muscle strength, cardiorespiratory fitness, body mass, physical activity, and sedentary behavior. Statistical analysis was conducted using linear mixed models adjusted for baseline values. Tumour profile and menopausal status were additionally adjusted for CRF. Mean differences (MD), 95% confidence intervals (CIs), and standardized effect sizes (ES) were reported. At the 5-year follow-up, there were no statistically significant differences in total CRF between the intervention groups and the UC group. RT-HIIT reported significantly reduced pain sensitivity at the gluteus MD = 79.00 (95% CI 10.17, 147.83, ES = 0.55) compared to UC. Clinically meaningful differences for an increase in cognitive CRF and cardiorespiratory fitness were observed for the AT-HIIT versus UC group, and for lower limb strength for the RT-HIIT versus UC group, albeit without statistical significance. Engaging in targeted exercise during adjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer provides short-term benefits in reducing fatigue and maintaining physical function. However, our 5-year follow-up indicates that these effects are limited in the long term. This underscores the need to support breast cancer survivors maintain their PA levels throughout their survivorship journey.

Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the effects of a team rowing-based training program on physical fitness and anthropometric parameters in female breast cancer survivors (n = 40; 56.78 ± 6.38 years). The participants were divided into two groups: one rowed in fixed-seat rowing (FSR) boats (n = 20; 56.35 ± 4.89 years), and the other rowed in sliding-seat rowing (SSR) boats (n = 20; 57.20 ± 7.7 years). Both groups engaged in two 75 min sessions per week for 24 weeks. Significant improvements were observed in both groups in terms of weight (FSR: -1.93 kg, SSR: -1.75 kg), body mass index (FSR: -0.73 kg/m2, SSR: -0.67 kg/m2), waist circumference (FSR: -2.83 cm, SSR: -3.66 cm), and hip circumference (FSR: -2.02 cm, SSR: -2.88 cm). Muscle strength improved in the lower extremities (jump test: FSR: 2.99 cm, SSR: 3.11 cm) and upper extremities (dominant: FSR: 4.13 kgf, SSR: 4.34 kgf; non-dominant: FSR: 3.67 kgf, SSR: 3.32 kgf). Aerobic capacity also improved, with the SSR group showing a greater increase (FSR: 63.05 m, SSR: 93.65 m). Flexibility tests revealed better results in the SSR group for both dominant (SSR: 1.75 cm vs. FSR: -5.55 cm) and non-dominant limbs (SSR: 1.72 cm vs. FSR: -3.81 cm). These findings suggest that the type of rowing modality can influence physical fitness outcomes, with the SSR group showing superior improvements compared to the FSR group.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Home-based exercise (HBE) programs can be a feasible strategy to enhance functional performance and promote physical activity (PA) in breast cancer survivors. A deeper analysis of the effects of HBE interventions, structured by HBE program type and treatment phase, is needed. This systematic review aimed to synthesize the evidence on HBE interventions' impact on breast cancer survivors' functional performance, PA levels, and program adherence rates, according to HBE intervention type and treatment phase. METHODS A comprehensive search of peer-reviewed articles reporting HBE interventions' effects on the outcomes of interest was performed in Pubmed, Google Scholar, EBSCO, Web of Science, Science Direct, and B-ON until January 15th, 2024. Data were synthesized according to Denton's domains to classify HBE interventions (prescription: structured vs. unstructured; Delivery method: supervised vs. facilitated vs. unsupervised) and treatment phase. Methodological quality appraisal was performed using the Effective Public Health Practice Project tool. RESULTS Twenty-six studies were included. Most studies conducted structured/facilitated interventions and reported positive effects on functional performance (particularly aerobic capacity), increases in PA levels, and high adherence rates (> 70%) during and post-treatment. CONCLUSION HBE interventions may be feasible to improve functional performance and promote physical activity among breast cancer survivors. Further studies are needed to confirm which HBE intervention type is more appropriate for each treatment phase. More evidence applying HBE interventions with different designs is required to allow the drawing of more solid conclusions. Studies exploring the effects of HBE interventions on the pre-treatment phase are needed.

Abstract
Participation in physical activity (PA) during and after cancer treatment is safe and beneficial in the adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer population. PA can positively impact health-related outcomes; however, participation remains low. This systematic review aims to describe PA intervention characteristics and outcomes in AYA survivors of cancer (AYASCa). This review followed Preferred Reporting Index for Systematic Reviews and Meta Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and was registered with Prospero (CRD42022365661). PubMed, CINAHL, and Scopus databases were searched for randomized control trials (RCTs) and pre/post-test studies without a control group through December 31, 2022. Data included: participant demographics, PA intervention characteristics, and health-related outcomes. Studies were assessed using the National Institute of Health Critical Appraisal Tools, and findings were synthesized to identify common characteristics of PA interventions and outcomes. Twenty-three studies were included: 15 RCTs and 8 pre/post-test studies. Heterogeneity existed across design, sample demographics, intervention timing, and observed outcomes. The most common characteristics of PA interventions were supervision of PA, wearable device use, tailored/individualized PA prescriptions, and goal setting. PA interventions positively affected health-related outcomes, with 21 studies reporting statistically significant findings. Implementing personalized PA prescriptions, utilizing wearable devices, and incorporating goal setting as characteristics in PA interventions hold potential benefits for AYASCa, leading to improved outcomes. Still, additional research is needed to explore interventions that utilize these PA characteristics and determine which ones are most effective for AYASCa. By further investigating and identifying optimal PA characteristics, interventions can be better tailored to meet this population's specific needs and preferences, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being and recovery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Exercise interventions have been shown to be beneficial for cancer patients regarding various treatment-related side effects and quality of life. For sustainable effects, patients should continue the training. Therefore, we investigated the maintenance of an exercise training in breast cancer patients, reasons for (dis)continuation, and explored possible influencing factors. METHODS The investigation is based on a 3-arm randomized intervention trial comparing aerobic and resistance training (19 [4]) during or after neoadjuvant chemotherapy among breast cancer patients. About 2 years after breast surgery, 68 patients (age 52 [11] y) provided information about training continuation, self-reported reasons of (dis)continuation, sociodemographics, employment status, age, and body mass index. Training continuation was investigated with Kaplan-Meier analyses. RESULTS The intervention was rated as good or very good by 88.1% of participants. Nevertheless, 52.9% discontinued the training directly, but half of them changed to different types of exercise. Reasons for discontinuation included lack of time and long travel distance to the training facility. The median continuation was 19.0 months (Q1, Q3: 5.5, 36.0) with no statistically significant difference between the intervention groups. Younger, better educated, partnered patients tended toward longer training continuation. CONCLUSIONS The majority of patients continued exercising after the end of intervention. However, a nonnegligible number discontinued training immediately or after few months. Practical, social, and financial support for a transition to an adequate training that is affordable and feasible in the patient's daily life might foster training maintenance. Especially patients who are less educated, elderly, or living alone may need more support to continue exercising.

Abstract
An accurate quantitative assessment of physical activity and sedentary lifestyles enables a better understanding of their relationship with the health records of cancer survivors. The objective of this study was to compare the subjective and objective methods of physical activity measurement in female breast cancer survivors. Materials and methods: In total, 135 female breast cancer survivors at the Holycross Cancer Center, Kielce, Poland, were included in this study. A shortened version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to subjectively assess the participants' physical activity (PA), and an ActiGraph GT3X-BT accelerometer was used for an objective assessment. In total, 75% of the studied women did not report any vigorous PA, irrespective of the measurement method. The average values of moderate PA and moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) measured with IPAQ compared with the accelerometer were sevenfold and tenfold higher, respectively. Conversely, the sedentary behavior values measured with the accelerometer were almost three times higher than those measured with IPAQ. The PA and sedentary behavior measurements were significantly different. Irrespective of PA intensity, the accelerometer-based measurements produced significantly lower results than IPAQ, while higher results were observed for sedentary behavior. The measurement differences between these two methods increased as the average differences grew. Regardless of the measurement method, a negative association was observed between moderate PA with general adiposity and adipose tissue distribution, whereas sedentary behavior demonstrated an opposite trend. This indicates the detrimental role of obesity in limiting PA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As the effectiveness of breast cancer treatment has improved, a growing number of long-term breast cancer survivors are seeking help for unique health problems. These patients may be at increased risk of cardiovascular disease due to the side effects of treatment. The positive impact of most types of exercise has been repeatedly reported in people with cancer, but the most effective exercise approaches for maximum beneficial adaptations remain controversial. Thus, this study aimed to compare the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on inflammatory indices, adipokines, metabolic markers, body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, and quality of life in breast cancer patients during adjuvant endocrine therapy. METHODS Thirty non-metastatic breast cancer patients during adjuvant endocrine therapy who had been treated with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy were recruited from Iran and randomized to HIIT, MICT, or control groups for a supervised exercise intervention that took place 3 times a week for 12 weeks. The training intensity was determined based on the peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak), and the volume of training was matched in HIIT and MICT based on the VO2peak. Body composition, functional capacity, cardiorespiratory fitness, metabolic indices, sex hormones, adipokines, and inflammatory markers were assessed before and after the intervention. RESULTS The VO2peak increased by 16.8% in the HIIT group in comparison to baseline values (mean difference = 3.61 mL/kg/min). HIIT significantly improved the VO2peak compared to control (mean difference = 3.609 mL/kg/min) and MICT (mean differences = 2.974 mL/kg/min) groups. Both HIIT (mean difference = 9.172 mg/dL) and MICT (mean difference = 7.879 mg/dL) interventions significantly increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels compared to the control group. The analysis of covariance showed that physical well-being significantly improved in MICT compared to control group (mean difference = 3.268). HIIT significantly improved the social well-being compared to the control group (mean difference = 4.412). Emotional well-being subscale was significantly improved in both MICT (mean difference = 4.248) and HIIT (mean difference = 4.412) compared to the control group. Functional well-being scores significantly increased in HIIT group compared with control group (mean difference = 3.35) . Significant increase were also observed in total functional assessment of cancer therapy-General scores in both HIIT (mean difference = 14.204) and MICT groups (mean difference = 10.036) compared with control group. The serum level of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 increased significantly (mean difference = 0.09 pg/mL) in the HIIT group compared to the baseline. There were no significant differences between groups for body weight, body mass index, fasting blood glucose, insulin resistance, sex hormone binding globulin, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, adipokines, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-α, or interleukin-10. CONCLUSION HIIT can be used as a safe, feasible, and time-efficient intervention to improve cardiovascular fitness in breast cancer patients. Both HIIT and MICT modalities enhance quality of life. Further large-scale studies will help determine whether these promising results translate into improved clinical and oncological outcomes.

Abstract
Background Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer in women. Reduced physical activity and overweight are associated with poor prognosis. Breast cancer patients have a high risk to gain weight, lose muscle mass and reduce physical activity during therapy. Concepts are urgently needed to motivate patients to engage in physical activity. Methods 110 non-metastatic breast cancer patients were included in the prospective observational BEGYN-1 study. Physiological parameters and body composition were measured before the start of therapy and then quarterly for one year. Patients used a fitness tracker and documented their physical activity in a diary throughout the study. Results Although the patients were not offered any guided exercise, and despite the restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, they increased their physical activity (metabolic equivalent of task (MET) -minutes): p<0.001), physical fitness (decreasing resting heart rate: p=0.001) and did not gain weight (median - 0.4kg) over the course of the study. Conclusion Improved awareness of physical activity is associated with an increase in physical activity, fitness, and a stable weight during the first year of therapy in breast cancer patients. Counselling at diagnosis should motivate patients to engage in physical activity, wear a fitness tracker and document activities.

Abstract
The most common cancer in women is breast cancer, which is also the second leading cause of death in this group. It is, however, important to note that some women will develop or will not develop breast cancer regardless of whether certain known risk factors are present. On the other hand, certain compounds are produced by bacteria in the gut, such as short-chain fatty acids, secondary bile acids, and other metabolites that may be linked to breast cancer development and mediate the chemotherapy response. Modeling the microbiota through dietary intervention and identifying metabolites directly associated with breast cancer and its complications may be useful to identify actionable targets and improve the effect of antiangiogenic therapies. Metabolomics is therefore a complementary approach to metagenomics for this purpose. As a result of the combination of both techniques, a better understanding of molecular biology and oncogenesis can be obtained. This article reviews recent literature about the influence of bacterial metabolites and chemotherapy metabolites in breast cancer patients, as well as the influence of diet.

Abstract
The practice of physical activity has been reported on countless occasions for the benefits it has on people's holistic health. However, today's society has high levels of inactivity and sedentary lifestyles, which highlights the importance of promoting active and healthy states in the population. As a mechanism to improve body composition, physical condition and perceived values of one's own physical condition and health status, the implementation of a strength training programme in the university community was proposed using a methodology based on Service-Learning. The participants were 12 students as coaches and 57 students from different university degrees as coachees (17 boys and 40 girls); the ages of the participants ranged from 18 to 33 years (M = 22.00; SD = 2.96). The variables of body composition, physical fitness, physical activity level and perception of fitness and health were assessed. Differences between pre- and post-intervention results were analysed using the Student's t-test and Wilcoxon test for ordinal self-perception variables. The results showed significant improvements in all the variables evaluated after the intervention. In conclusion, we would like to highlight the benefits of physical activity and the need to continue implementing action and intervention plans to encourage and promote its practice in all sectors of the population.
