Abstract
Low-cost transition metal vanadate-based electrochemical sensors have attracted a lot of attention recently. A cobalt vanadate and carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotube composite (CoV/MWCNTs-COOH) was prepared by an ultrasonic-assisted assembly method. The uniform and dense MWCNTs-COOH attached to the surface of CoV not only combines the large surface area and superior conductivity of MWCNTs-COOH with the excellent electrochemical activity of CoV, but also enhances the redox reaction between CoV/MWCNTs-COOH composite and the analyte through synergistic effect of hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interaction. The electrochemical behaviors of CoV/MWCNTs-COOH composite modified glassy carbon electrode (CoV/MWCNTs-COOH/GCE) were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The simultaneous electrochemical sensing of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) on CoV/MWCNTs-COOH/GCE possesses good peak current signals with well-defined peak potentials. The linear ranges of AA, DA, and UA at CoV/MWCNTs-COOH/GCE are 1.0-100.0 μM, and the limits of detection (LODs; S/N = 3) are 0.4 μM, 0.03 μM, and 0.1 μM, respectively. The practicality of the designed sensor was further confirmed by the good recoveries obtained in the simultaneous measurement of actual samples including fetal bovine serum, human serum, urine, and Vitamin C tablets. Overall, the developed electrochemical sensor shows potential therapeutic applications for simultaneous determination of AA, DA and UA in biological fluids.

Abstract
The detection of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA), and uric acid (UA) is not only of great significance in the areas of biomedicine and neurochemistry but also helpful in disease diagnosis and pathology research. Due to their diverse structures, designability, and large specific surface areas, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have recently caught considerable attention in the electrochemical field. Herein, a family of heterometallic MOFs with amino modification, MIL-125(Ti-Al)-xNH2 (x = 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%), were synthesized and employed as electrochemical sensors for the detection of AA, DA, and UA. Among them, MIL-125(Ti-Al)-75%NH2 exhibited the most promising electrochemical behavior with 40% doping of carbon black in 0.1 M PBS (pH = 7.10), which displayed individual detection performance with wide linear detection ranges (1.0-6.5 mM for AA, 5-100 μM for DA and 5-120 μM for UA) and low limits of detection (0.215 mM for AA, 0.086 μM for DA, and 0.876 μM for UA, S/N = 3). Furthermore, the as-prepared MIL-125(Ti-Al)-75%NH2/GCE provided a promising platform for future application in real sample analysis, owing to its excellent anti-interference performance and good stability.

Abstract
Nanofibrous substrates and scaffolds are widely being studied as matrices for 3D cell cultures, and disease models as well as for analytics and diagnostic purposes. These scaffolds usually comprise randomly oriented fibers. Much less common are nanofibrous scaffolds made of stiff inorganic materials such as alumina. Well-aligned matrices are a promising tool for evaluation of behavior of biological objects affected by micro/nano-topologies as well as anisotropy. In this work, for the first time, we report a joint analysis of biomechanical properties of new ultra-anisotropic, self-aligned ceramic nanofibers augmented with two modifications of graphene shells (GAIN scaffolds) and their interaction of three different viral types (influenza virus A, picornavirus (human parechovirus) and potato virus). It was discovered that nano-topology and structure of the graphene layers have a significant implication on mechanical properties of GAIN scaffolds resulting in non-linear behavior. It was demonstrated that the viral adhesion to GAIN scaffolds is likely to be guided by physical cues in dependence on mutual steric factors, as the scaffolds lack common cell membrane proteins and receptors which viruses usually deploy for transfection. The study may have implications for selective viral adsorption, infected cells analysis, and potentially opening new tools for anti-viral drugs development.

Abstract
In this study, an efficient and simple designed nanohybrid created for individual and simultaneous detection of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA). This nanohybrid is a combination of reduced graphene oxide (CRGO) and redox poly(para-phenylene) (Fc-ac-PP) modified in a lateral position with ferrrocenyl group CRGO/Fc-ac-PPP. The CRGO/Fc-ac-PPP nanohybrid demonstrated a synergistic effect resulting in a large conductivity, surface area and catalytic properties provided by the redox attached ferrocene. Moreover, this nanocomposite is able to detect individually as well as simultaneously AA, DA and UA in a co-existence system with defined and separated redox peaks oxidation. The linear response ranges for AA, DA and UA, when detected simultaneously, are 0.1-10000 μM, 0.0001-1000 μM and 0.1-10000 μM, respectively, and the detection limits (S/N = 3) are 0.046 μM, 0.2 nM and 0.013 μM, respectively. The proposed sensor shown satisfactory results when applied to real spiked urine samples for measuring the abnormal high or lowconcentration of AA, DA and UA in vivo.

Abstract
A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified with nitrogen-enriched carbon frameworks decorated with palladium nanoparticles (Pd@NCF/GCEs). The modified GCE is shown to be a viable tool for determination of uric acid (UA) and dopamine (DA) in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA). The Pd@NCF was fabricated though one-step pyrolysis and characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and nitrogen-adsorption/desorption analysis. The Pd@NCF/GCE was characterized by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Both UA and DA have pronounced oxidation peaks (at 360 mV for UA and 180 mV for DA, all vs. Ag/AgCl) in the presence of AA. Response is linear in the 0.5-100 μM UA concentration range and in the 0.5-230 μM DA concentration range. The detection limits are 76 and 107 nM, respectively (at S/N = 3). This electrode is stable, reproducible and highly selective. It was used for UA and DA determination in spiked serum samples. Abstract
In this work, we report a sensitive and selective electrochemical sensor for the detection of dopamine (DA) neurotransmitter based on VS2-SnS2/f-MWCNT hybrids. Herein, the binary metal sulfide (VS2-SnS2) was synthesized via single step hydrothermal route and hybrids with f-MWCNT via the ultrasonication process. The as-prepared VS2-SnS2/f-MWCNT hybrids were characterized through the FESEM, EDX and elemental mapping, TEM, XPS, Raman and XRD techniques. The electrochemical performance and catalytic activity of the modified electrodes were probed using electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Interestingly, DPV results exhibits an appreciable linear range from 0.025 to 1017 μM and LOD of 0.008 μM. The selectivity study was performed to prove the high selectivity of the VS2-SnS2/f-MWCNT hybrids modified electrode. Furthermore, the practical applicability of the DA sensor was scrutinized in human serum sample and rat brain sample.

Abstract
A nanocomposite is described that consists of TmPO4 and graphene oxide (GO) and is used to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to obtain a sensor for simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA). GO and TmPO4 were synthesized via the Hummers method and by a hydrothermal method, respectively. The nanocomposite was characterized by transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The electrochemical properties of the modified GCE were studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The good performance of the modified GCE results from the synergistic effects between GO with its good electrical conductivity and of TmPO4 as the electron mediator that accelerates the electron transfer rate. Compared to a bare GCE, a GO/GCE and a TmPO4/GCE, the GO/TmPO4/GCE exhibits three well-defined and separated oxidation peaks (at -0.05, +0.13 and + 0.26 V vs. SCE). Responses to AA, DA and UA are linear in the 0.1-1.0 mM, 2-20 μM and 10-100 μM concentration ranges, respectively. Abstract
A self-assembled periodic superlattice material was obtained by integrating positively charged semiconductive sheets of a Zn-NiAl layered double hydroxide (LDH) and negatively charged layers of reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The material was used to modify a glassy carbon electrode which then is shown to be a viable sensor for the diagnostic parameters dopamine (DA), uric acid (UA) and ascorbic acid (AA). The modified GCE displays excellent electrocatalytic activity towards these biomolecules. This is assumed to be due to the synergistic effects of (a) excellent interfacial electrical conductivity that is imparted by direct neighboring of conductive rGO to semiconductive channels of LDHs, (b) the superb intercalation feature of LDHs, and (c) the enlarged surface with an enormous number of active sites. The biosensor revealed outstanding electrochemical performances in terms of selectivity, sensitivity, and wide linear ranges. Typically operated at working potentials of -0.10, +0.13 and + 0.27 V vs. saturated calomel electrode, the lower detection limits for AA, DA and UA are 13.5 nM, 0.1 nM, and 0.9 nM, respectively, at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3. The sensor was applied to real-time tracking of dopamine efflux from live human nerve cells. Graphical abstract Schematic of the preparation of a superlattice self-assembled material by integrating positively charged semiconductive sheets of Zn-NiAl layered double hydroxide (LDH) with negatively charged reduced graphene oxide (rGO) layers. Gold nanorods decorated with graphene oxide and multi-walled carbon nanotubes for trace level voltammetric determination of ascorbic acid. Mikrochim Acta 2018; 186:17. Abstract
An ultra-sensitive sensor is described for the voltammetric determination of ascorbic acid (AA). A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified with graphene oxide (GO), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and gold nanorods (AuNRs). GO was used to prevent the aggregation of MWCNTs. The integration of positively charged AuNRs reduces the overpotential and increases the peak current of AA oxidation. Figures of merit of this sensor, typically operated at a low working potential of 0.036 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), include a low detection limit (0.85 nM), high sensitivity (7.61 μA·μM-1·cm-2) and two wide linear ranges (from 1 nM to 0.5 μM and from 1 μM to 8 mM). The use of GO simplifies the manufacture and results in a highly reproducible and stable sensor. It was applied to the quantification of AA in spiked serum. Abstract
A composite was prepared from a Co(II)-based zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-67) and graphene oxide (GO) by an in situ growth method. The material was electrodeposited on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The modified GCE was used for the simultaneous voltammetric determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA), typically at working potentials of 0.11 and 0.25 V (vs. SCE). The morphology and structure of the nanocomposite were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The modified electrode exhibits excellent electroanalytical performance for DA and UA owing to the synergistic effect of the high electrical conductivity of GO and the porosity of ZIF-67. By applying differential pulse voltammetry, a linear response is found for DA in the 0.2 to 80 μM concentration range, and for UA between 0.8 and 200 μM, with detection limits of 50 and 100 nM (at S/N = 3), respectively. Further studies were performed on the effect of potential interferents, and on electrode stability and reproducibility. The modified GCE was applied to the simultaneous detection of DA and UA in spiked human urine and gave satisfying recoveries. Graphical abstract Schematic of the preparation procedure of GO-ZIF67 and electrochemical reaction mechanisms of UA and DA at the GO-ZIF67-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE). GO: graphene oxide; ZIF-67: Co(II)-based zeolitic imidazolate framework.

Abstract
Carbon black (CB) and carbon nanotube (CNT) co-doped polyimide (PI) modified glassy carbon electrode (CB-CNT/PI/GCE) was first prepared for the simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA), and uric acid (UA). The CB-CNT/PI/GCE exhibited persistent electrochemical behavior and excellent catalytic activities. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) were used for the simultaneous detection of AA, DA, and UA in their ternary mixture. The peak separations between AA and DA, and DA and UA, are up to 166 mV and 148 mV, respectively. The CB-CNT/PI/GCE exhibited high sensitivity to DA and UA, with the detection limit of 1.9 µM and 3 µM, respectively. In addition, the CB-CNT/PI/GCE showed sufficient selectivity and long-term stability, and was applicable to detect AA, DA, and UA in human urine sample.

Abstract
A voltammetric sensor is presented for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA). It is based on a gold electrode (GE) modified with carboxyl-functionalized graphene (CFG) and silver nanocube functionalized DA nanospheres (AgNC@PDA-NS). The AgNC@PDA-NS nanocomposite was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The electrochemical behavior of the modified electrode was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The modified electrode displays good electrocatalytic activity towards DA (typically at 0.14 V vs. Ag/AgCl) and UA (typically at 0.29 V vs. Ag/AgCl) even in the presence of ascorbic acid. Response to DA is linear in the concentration range of 2.5 to 130 μM with a detection limit of 0.25 μM. Response to UA is linear in the concentration range of 10 to 130 μM with a detection limit of 1.9 μM. In addition, the sensitivity for DA and UA is 0.538 and 0.156 μA μM-1 cm-2, respectively. The modified electrode also displays good stability, selectivity and reproducibility. Graphical abstract The gold electrode modified with polydopamine nanospheres functionalized with silver nanocube and carboxylated graphene is used for simultaneous determination of DA and UA in the presence of AA, with wide linear range and low detection limit.

Abstract
Graphene nanosheets (GSs) were prepared via liquid-phase non-covalent exfoliation of graphite powder in N,N-dimethylformamide under the assistance of copper(II) meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin tetrasodium salt Na4(CuTCPP). A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified with a film of such GSs which, due to the good electrical conductivity of graphene and the electrocatalytic properties of Na4(CuTCPP), is capable of simultaneous determination of acetaminophen (AC) and dopamine (DA). The peak currents, best measured at voltage of 0.2 V (for DA) and 0.4 V (for AC; both vs. SCE), increase linearly in the 0.0024-3.6 μM and 0.004-7.6 μM concentration ranges, respectively. The detection limits are 0.8 nM for DA and 0.7 nM for AC. The sensor was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of AC and DA in pharmaceutical preparations and spiked human serum. The results were in good agreement with those obtained for the same samples by HPLC. Graphical abstract Graphene nanosheets were prepared via a facile liquid-phase exfoliation of graphite with the assistance of copper(II) meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin tetrasodium salt. A graphene nanosheet-film modified glassy carbon electrode was fabricated to determine acetaminophen and dopamine through a simple and effective strategy.
