Abstract
Transition metal phosphide @ molybdenum disulfide (TMP@MoS2) heterostructures, consisting of TMP as the core main catalytic body and MoS2 as the outer shell, can solve the three major problems in the field of renewable energy storage and catalysis, such as lack of resources, cost factors, and low cycling stability. The heterostructures synergistically combine the excellent conductivity and electrochemical performance of transition metal phosphides with the structural robustness and catalytic activity of molybdenum disulfide, which holds great promise for clean energy. This review addresses the advantages of TMP@MoS2 materials and their synthesis methods-e.g., hydrothermal routes and chemical vapor deposition regarding scalability and cost. Their electrochemical energy storage and catalytic functions e.g., hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions (HER and OER) are also extensively explored. Their potential within battery and supercapacitor technologies is also assessed against leading performance metrics. Challenges toward industry-scale scalability, longevity, and environmental sustainability are also addressed, as are optimization and large-scale deployment strategies.

Abstract
Due to population growth and global technological development, energy consumption has increased exponentially. The global energy crisis opens up many hotly debated topics regarding energy generation and consumption. Not only is energy production in short supply due to limited energy resources but efficient and sustainable storage has become a very important goal. Currently, there are energy storage devices such as batteries, capacitors, and super-capacitors. Supercapacitors or electrochemical capacitors can be very advantageous replacements for batteries and capacitors because they can achieve higher power density and energy density characteristics. The evolution and progress of society demand the use of innovative and composite nanostructured metal oxide materials, which fulfill the requirements of high-performance technologies. This review mainly addresses the synthesis techniques and properties of 2D and 3D metal oxide nanostructured materials, especially based on Ti, Fe, Ga, and Sn ions, electrochemical methods used for the characterization and application of 2D, and 3D nanostructured metal oxide structures in electrochemical storage systems of energy.

Abstract
Transition metal phosphides (TMPs) with unique metalloid features have been promised great application potential in developing high-efficiency electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage. Nevertheless, sluggish ion transportation and poor cycling stability are the critical hurdles limiting their application prospects. Herein, we presented the metal-organic framework-mediated construction of ultrafine Ni2P immobilized in reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Nano-porous two-dimensional (2D) Ni-metal-organic framework (Ni-MOF) was grown on holey graphene oxide (Ni(BDC)-HGO), followed by MOF-mediated tandem pyrolysis (carbonization and phosphidation; Ni(BDC)-HGO-X-P, X denoted carbonization temperature and P represented phosphidation). Structural analysis revealed that the open-framework structure in Ni(BDC)-HGO-X-Ps had endowed them with excellent ion conductivity. The Ni2P wrapped by carbon shells and the PO bonds linking between Ni2P and rGO ensured the better structural stability of Ni(BDC)-HGO-X-Ps. The resulting Ni(BDC)-HGO-400-P delivered a capacitance of 2333.3 F g-1 at 1 A g-1 in a 6 M KOH aqueous electrolyte. More importantly, Ni(BDC)-HGO-400-P//activated carbon, the assembled asymmetric supercapacitor with an energy density of 64.5 Wh kg-1 and a power density of 31.7 kW kg-1, almost maintained its initial capacitance after 10,000 cycles. Furthermore, in situ electrochemical-Raman measurements were exploited to demonstrate the electrochemical changes of Ni(BDC)-HGO-400-P throughout the charging and discharging processes. This study has further shed light on the design rationality of TMPs for optimizing supercapacitor performance.

Abstract
A high capacitance and widened voltage frames for an aqueous supercapacitor system are challenging to realize simultaneously in an aqueous medium. The severe water splitting seriously restricts the narrow voltage of the aqueous electrolyte beyond 2 V. To overcome this limitation, herein, we proposed the facile wet-chemical synthesis of a new CuSe-TiO2-GO ternary nanocomposite for hybrid supercapacitors, thus boosting the specific energy up to some maximum extent. The capacitive charge storage mechanism of the CuSe-TiO2-GO ternary nanocomposite electrode was tested in an aqueous solution with 3 M KOH as the electrolyte in a three-cell mode assembly. The voltammogram analysis manifests good reversibility and a remarkable capacitive response at various currents and sweep rates, with a durable rate capability. At the same time, the discharge/charge platforms realize the most significant capacitance and a capacity of 920 F/g (153 mAh/g), supported by the impedance analysis with minimal resistances, ensuring the supply of electrolyte ion diffusion to the active host electrode interface. The built 2 V CuSe-TiO2-GO||AC-GO||KOH hybrid supercapacitor accomplished a significant capacitance of 175 F/g, high specific energy of 36 Wh/kg, superior specific power of 4781 W/kg, and extraordinary stability of 91.3% retention relative to the stable cycling performance. These merits pave a new way to build other ternary nanocomposites to achieve superior performance for energy storage devices.
