Abstract
Certain racial and ethnic groups have historically been labeled "high-risk" for the development of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Our objective was to identify the psychosocial, behavioral, and medical factors associated with GDM and determine if they differ by race/ethnicity.Secondary analysis of a multicenter, prospective cohort study of pregnant nulliparous individuals with singleton gestations (2010-2013). The primary outcome was GDM. Psychosocial, behavioral, and medical characteristics were compared by self-reported race/ethnicity. Multivariable logistic regression with backward selection identified factors associated with GDM. Interaction terms between race/ethnicity and risk factors were tested.Of 8,672 pregnant individuals, 61% were non-Hispanic White, 13% non-Hispanic Black, 17% Hispanic, 4% Asian, and 5% other. The incidence of GDM differed by race/ethnicity with 4% non-Hispanic White, 3% non-Hispanic Black, 5% Hispanic, 11% Asian, and 5% other (p < 0.001). Of 34 psychosocial, behavioral, and medical factors, those associated with GDM were parent with history of diabetes (adjusted odds ratio [aOR]: 1.72; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.33-2.23), non-English language (aOR: 2.57; 95% CI: 1.14-5.79), daily calorie intake (aOR: 1.18; 95% CI: 1.08-1.29), daily fiber intake (aOR: 0.84; 95% CI: 0.75-0.94), maternal age (aOR: 1.53; 95% CI: 1.37-1.70), prepregnancy BMI (aOR: 1.21; 95% CI: 1.02-1.44), and waist circumference (aOR: 1.21; 95% CI: 1.03-1.43). These associations did not differ based on race/ethnicity (interaction p-values > 0.1).Replacing race/ethnicity as a risk factor for GDM with significant upstream psychosocial, behavioral, and medical factors should be considered. · GDM varies in incidence based on race.. · GDM was linked to a parent with various factors.. · These factors are the history of diabetes, non-English language, and daily calorie intake.. · These factors also include lower daily fiber intake, maternal age, prepregnancy BMI, and waist circumference.. · The psychosocial, behavioral, and medical factors associated with GDM did not differ based on race/ethnicity..

Abstract
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), which refers to diabetes mellitus or abnormal glucose tolerance of any degree occurring during pregnancy, is a distinct type within the diabetes classification. 25-hydroxyvitamin D deficiency has been associated with an increased risk of maternal glycaemia, insulin resistance and gestational diabetes. There is no consensus on the definition of vitamin D deficiency, but most scientists define vitamin D deficiency as less than 20 ng/mL (50 nmoL/L) of 25-hydroxyvitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency is common in women during pregnancy. Vitamin D can regulate the course of gestational diabetes, which may be related to regulation of insulin gene transcription, insulin secretion, intracellular and cytosolic calcium balance, inhibition of oxidative stress and inflammatory responses and alteration of glucose metabolism. This is a review article that aims to analyze the possible mechanism of vitamin D regulation of GDM, which provides a theoretical basis for clinical researchers in the future management of patients with GDM.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION To examine the association between dietary inflammatory index (DII) and risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). METHODS A prospective birth cohort study was conducted in Iran. During the first trimester of pregnancy, food intake was measured using a food frequency questionnaire. Each participant's DII score was calculated, and then, the Cox proportional hazard model was used to calculate the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% CI of GDM across the quartiles of DII. We systematically searched the literature to conduct a meta-analysis of observational studies (PROSPERO: CRD42022331703). To estimate the summary relative risk for the highest versus lowest category of DII, a random-effects meta-analysis was performed. The certainty of evidence was assessed using the GRADE approach. RESULTS In the prospective cohort study (n = 635 pregnant mothers), the multivariable HRs of GDM for the third and fourth quartiles of DII were 2.98 (95%CI: 1.98, 6.46) and 2.72 (95%CI: 1.11, 6.63), respectively. Based on a meta-analysis of six prospective cohorts and a case-control study (1014 cases of GDM in 7027 pregnant mothers), being in the highest category of the DII was associated with a 27% higher risk of GDM (relative risk: 1.27, 95%CI: 1.01, 1.59; I2 = 50%; low certainty of evidence). A dose-response meta-analysis suggested a positive monotonic association between DII and GDM risk. CONCLUSIONS Our prospective cohort demonstrated a positive correlation between GDM risk and the inflammatory potential of diet in the first trimester of pregnancy. The results need to be confirmed by larger cohort studies. CLINICAL TRIAL NUMBER Not applicable.

Abstract
Objective Determine if diagnosis of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) increases the incidence of postpartum depression (PPD) in rural Appalachian Ohio. Methods A retrospective chart review was conducted to review pregnancies between February 2020 and March 2023 to look for diagnoses of gestational diabetes and PPD. Results The population studied showed that 5.41% of pregnancies were affected by gestational diabetes, 7.76% of pregnancies had associated PPD, and 1.26% had both. Hypertension incidence that was a secondary data point in this study showed that 20.4% of pregnancies were affected by a form of hypertension. Conclusions Incidence of gestational diabetes and PPD were similar in this population to the rest of the United States and occurred together at low rates. Hypertension was a more common condition that affected pregnancies in this population.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine the impact of prior gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) on perinatal outcomes in a subsequent GDM pregnancy. METHODS This retrospective cohort study included 544 multiparous patients with two consecutive pregnancies between 2012-2019, where the second (index) pregnancy was affected by GDM. The primary exposure was prior GDM diagnosis, categorized into medical and dietary management. The primary outcome was a composite including need for pharmacotherapy, large-for-gestational age, or neonatal hypoglycemia. Adjusted odds ratios (aOR) were calculated using multivariable logistic regression controlling for maternal age, pre-pregnancy body mass index, and gestational age at GDM diagnosis in the index pregnancy. RESULTS Of the 544 patients, 164 (30.1%) had prior GDM. Prior GDM significantly increased the likelihood of composite outcome compared to no prior GDM (74.4% vs. 57.4%; P < 0.001). After adjusting for confounders, prior GDM remained significantly associated with the composite outcome (aOR 2.03, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.31-3.15). Stratifying by prior GDM treatment modality, a significant association was found for prior pharmacotherapy-controlled GDM (aOR 3.29, 95% CI 1.64-6.59), but not for prior diet-controlled GDM (aOR = 1.54, 95% CI 0.92-2.60). CONCLUSION A history of pharmacotherapy-controlled GDM in a previous pregnancy increases odds of adverse perinatal outcomes in a subsequent GDM pregnancy.

Abstract
Background Although the association between HHEX, IGF2BP2, and FTO polymorphisms and the risk of GDM has been investigated in several studies, the findings have been inconsistent across different populations. The study aimed to investigate the association between genetic polymorphisms and GDM risk in a Chinese population. Methods 502 control volunteers and 500 GDM patients were enrolled. IGF2BP2 rs11705701 and rs4402960, FTO rs9939609, and HHEX rs1111875 and rs5015480 were all genotyped using the SNPscan™ genotyping assay. The independent sample t-test, logistic regression, and chi-square test were used to assess the variations in genotype and allele and their relationships with the risk of GDM. The blood glucose level, gestational week of delivery, and newborn weight were compared using a one-way ANOVA. Results After adjusting for confounding factors, the results show that the rs1111875 heterozygous (OR=1.370; 95% CI: 1.040-1.805; P = 0.025) and overdominant (OR=1.373; 95% CI: 1.049-1.796; P = 0. 021) models are significantly associated with an increased risk of GDM, especially for the age ≥ 30 years group: heterozygote (OR=1.646; 95% CI: 1.118-2.423; P=0.012) and overdominant (OR=1.553; 95% CI: 1.064-2.266; P = 0.022) models. In the age ≥ 30 years, the rs5015480 overdominant model (OR=1.595; 95% CI: 1.034-2.459; P = 0.035) and the rs9939609 heterozygote model (OR=1.609; 95% CI: 1.016-2.550; P=0.043), allele (OR=1. 504; 95% CI: 1.006-2.248; P = 0.047), dominant model (OR=1.604; 95% CI: 1.026-2.505; P = 0.038), and overdominant model (OR=1.593; 95% CI: 1.007-2.520; P = 0.047) were associated with a significantly increased risk of GDM; Additionally, people with the TC genotype of rs1111875 had a substantially higher 1-hour blood glucose level than TT genotype (P < 0.05). The results of the meta-analysis showed that the A allele of rs11705701 was associated with an increased risk of diabetes mellitus (P < 0.05). Conclusion The study indicates that the TC genotype of rs1111875 is linked to a higher risk of GDM, particularly in women aged 30 years or older. Additionally, rs5015480 and rs9939609 were significantly associated with GDM in the same age group. These SNPs may therefore be more closely linked to GDM in older mothers.

Abstract
The aetiological mechanism of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has still not been fully understood. The aim of this study was to explore the associations between functional genetic variants screened from a genome-wide association study (GWAS) and GDM risk among 554 GDM patients and 641 healthy controls in China. Functional analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) positively associated with GDM was further performed. Univariate regression and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to screen clinical risk factors, and a predictive nomogram model was established. After adjusting for age and prepregnancy BMI, rs9283638 was significantly associated with GDM susceptibility (P < 0.05). Moreover, an obvious interaction between rs9283638 and clinical variables was detected (Pinteraction < 0.05). Functional analysis confirmed that rs9283638 can regulate not only target gene transcription factor binding, but it also regulates the mRNA levels of SAMD7 (P < 0.05). The nomogram model constructed with the factors of age, FPG, 1hPG, 2hPG, HbA1c, TG and rs9283638 revealed an area under the ROC curve of 0.920 (95% CI 0.902-0.939). Decision curve analysis (DCA) suggested that the model had greater net clinical benefit. Conclusively, genetic variants can alter women's susceptibility to GDM by affecting the transcription of target genes. The predictive nomogram model constructed based on genetic and clinical variables can effectively distinguish individuals with different GDM risk factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and phthalate acid esters (PAHs & PAEs), known as endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), widely exist in daily life and industrial production. Previous studies have suggested that PAHs & PAEs may modify the intrauterine homeostasis and have adverse effects on fetal development. However, epidemiological evidence on the associations between PAHs & PAEs and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is still limited. OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of prenatal PAHs &PAEs exposure on the risk of GDM and hyperglycemia in pregnant women. METHODS The study population was a total of 725 pregnant women from a prospective birth cohort study conducted from December 2019 to December 2021. Blood glucose levels were collected by the hospital information system. Urinary PAHs & PAEs concentrations were determined by gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. The Poisson regression in a generalized linear model (GLM), multiple linear regression, quantile-based g-computation method (qgcomp), and Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) were applied to explore and verify the individual and overall effects of PAHs & PAEs on glucose homeostasis. Potential confounders were adjusted in all statistical models. RESULTS A total of 179 (24.69%) women were diagnosed with GDM. The Poisson regression suggested that a ln-unit increment of 4-OHPHE (4-hydroxyphenanthrene) (adjusted Risk Ratio (aRR) = 1.13; 1.02-1.26) was associated with the increased GDM risk. Mixed-exposure models showed similar results. We additionally found that MBZP (mono-benzyl phthalate) (aRR = 1.19; 1.02-1.39) was positively related to GDM risk in qgcomp model. Although neither model demonstrated that 2-OHNAP (2-hydroxynaphthalene) and 9-OHFLU (9-hydroxyfluorene) increased the risk of GDM, 2-OHNAP and 9-OHFLU exposure significantly increased blood glucose levels. BKMR model further confirmed that overall effects of PAHs & PAEs were significantly associated with the gestational hyperglycemia and GDM risk. CONCLUSIONS Our study presents that environmental exposure to PAHs & PAEs was positively associated with gestational glucose levels and the risks of developing GDM. In particular, 2-OHNAP, 9-OHFLU, 4-OHPHE and MBZP may serve as important surveillance markers to prevent the development of GDM.

Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and the likelihood of postpartum depression (PPD) symptoms. PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and the Wiley Online Library were systematically searched for relevant literature. Our results included eight studies with a total of 4,209 women diagnosed with GDM and/or PPD. The prevalence of PPD in women diagnosed with GDM ranged from 6.5% to 48.4%. The included studies demonstrated that PPD was more likely to strike women with GDM. One study reported that the most severe type of GDM is more likely to occur in those with a history of depression. Perinatal depression during pregnancy can be strongly predicted by age, BMI, and a personal history of depression. The findings imply that GDM and the likelihood of depression during the postpartum phase are related. It was also found that there was a positive correlation between depression and the chance of having GDM. This emphasizes how the association between GDM and depression appears to be reciprocal. However, the association does not imply causation, and the data at hand do not allow for the establishment of causality. Subsequent studies ought to endeavor to show causative connections between GDM and depression as well as pinpoint shared underlying endocrine variables that may play a role in the genesis of both conditions. The available information that is now available is limited due to the complexity of the etiology of both GD and depression in pregnant women; nonetheless, prevention of both conditions depends on a better understanding of the link between GD and depression. The risk of bias in the included studies was moderate to high.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Interpregnancy interval (IPI) is associated with the risk of GDM in a second pregnancy. However, an optimal IPI is still need to be determined based on the characteristics of the population. This study aimed to analyze the effect of interpregnancy interval (IPI) on the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the Chinese population. METHODS We conducted a retrospective cohort study on female participants who had consecutive deliveries at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital from 2013 to 2021. The IPI was categorized into 7 groups and included into the multivariate logistic regression model with other confound factors. Analysis was also stratified based on age of first pregnancy, BMI, and history of GDM. Adjusted OR values (aOR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) calculated. The regression coefficient of IPI months on GDM prediction risk was analyzed using a linear regression model. RESULTS A total of 2,392 participants were enrolled. The IPI of the GDM group was significantly greater than that of the non-GDM group (P < 0.05). Compared with the 18-24 months IPI category, participants with longer IPIs (24-36 months, 36-48 months, 48-60 months, and ≥ 60 months) had a higher risk of GDM (aOR:1.585, 2.381, 2.488, and 2.565; 95% CI: 1.021-2.462, 1.489-3.809, 1.441-4.298, and 1.294-5.087, respectively). For participants aged < 30 years or ≥ 30 years or without GDM history, all longer IPIs (≥ 36 months) were all significantly associated with the GDM risk in the second pregnancy (P < 0.05), while any shorter IPIs (< 18 months) was not significantly associated with GDM risk (P > 0.05). For participants with GDM history, IPI 12-18 months, 24-36 months, 36-48 months, and ≥ 60 months were all significantly associated with the GDM risk (aOR: 2.619, 3.747, 4.356, and 5.373; 95% CI: 1.074-6.386, 1.652-8.499, 1.724-11.005, and 1.078-26.793, respectively), and the slope value of linear regression (0.5161) was significantly higher compared to participants without a history of GDM (0.1891) (F = 284.168, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Long IPI increases the risk of GDM in a second pregnancy, but this risk is independent of maternal age. The risk of developing GDM in a second pregnancy for women with GDM history is more significantly affected by IPI.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE A recent randomized controlled trial suggested that early gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) screening in patients with obesity (body mass index [BMI] ≥30 kg/m2) does not improve perinatal outcomes. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology currently recommends early screening for gestational diabetes in patients who are overweight with one or more additional risk factors. We evaluated the effect of screening based on the number of additional risk factors for development of gestational diabetes. STUDY DESIGN This was a secondary analysis of a multicenter randomized controlled trial of obese patients with singleton nonanomalous fetuses comparing early (14-20 weeks' gestation) with routine (24-28 weeks' gestation) GDM screening. Exclusion criteria were pregestational diabetes, major medical illnesses, bariatric surgery, chronic steroid use, and prior cesarean. Early versus routine GDM screening groups were compared and stratified by the number of additional risk factors for GDM (0, 1, 2, and ≥3). The primary outcome was an adverse perinatal composite outcome composed of: macrosomia, primary cesarean delivery, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, shoulder dystocia, neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, and neonatal hypoglycemia. Analyses examined effects of early versus routine screening by the number of additional risk factors and their possible interaction on the incidences of the primary outcome and GDM. RESULTS Of 913 patients, 5% had 0, 52% had 1, 33% had 2, and 10% had ≥3 additional risk factors. Baseline characteristics, including the number and type of risk factors, were similar between early and routine screening groups. Breslow-Day test for interaction between early versus routine screening and the number of additional risk factors was not significant for either the primary outcome (p = 0.37) or the diagnosis of GDM (p = 0.28). The incidence of GDM and the adverse perinatal composite outcome increased as the number of risk factors increased (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION In patients with BMI ≥30 kg/m2 and additional risk factors, early GDM screening does not prevent adverse outcomes. Abstract
Gut microbiome dysbiosis contributes to the pathophysiology of both gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and its associated adverse outcomes in the woman and offspring. Even though GDM prevalence, complications, and outcomes vary among different ethnic groups, limited information is available about the influence of ethnicity on gut microbiome dysbiosis in pregnancies complicated by GDM. This pilot prospective cohort study examined the impact of ethnicity on gut dysbiosis in GDM among three Asian ethnic groups (Chinese, Malay, Indian) living in Singapore, and investigated the potential modulatory roles of diet and lifestyle modifications on gut microbiome post-GDM diagnosis. Women with GDM (n = 53) and without GDM (n = 16) were recruited. Fecal samples were collected at 24-28- and 36-40-weeks' gestation and analyzed by targeted 16S rRNA gene-based amplicon sequencing. Permutational multivariate analysis of variance (PERMANOVA) analysis was performed to evaluate differences between groups. Differentially abundant taxa were identified by DeSeq2 based analysis. Functional prediction was performed using the phylogenetic investigation of communities by reconstruction of unobserved states (PICRUSt2). Among women with GDM, gut microbiome from different ethnicities harbored common microbial features. However, among those without GDM, there was contrasting microbiome composition between ethnic groups. Microbial members such as Collinsella, Blautia, Ruminococcus, Ruminococcus gnavus, Ruminococcus torques, and Eubacterium hallii groups were differentially enriched (p < 0.05) in women with GDM compared to those without. Among women with GDM, no differences in alpha- and beta- diversity were observed when comparing 24-28 weeks' samples with 36-40 weeks' samples, a period covering intense dietary and lifestyle modification, suggesting an inability to modulate gut microbiota through classic GDM management. Women with GDM have a distinct gut microbiome profile which harbours common features across different Asian ethnic groups, consistent with the notion that specific microbes are involved in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance, pro-inflammatory conditions, and other metabolic dysregulation known to be present in GDM.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the associations of choline, betaine, dimethylglycine (DMG), L-carnitine, and Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) with the risk of Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) as well as the markers of glucose homeostasis. METHODS We performed a case-control study including 200 diagnosed GDM cases and 200 controls matched by maternal age (±2 years) and gestational age (±2 weeks). Concentrations of serum metabolites were measured by the high-performance liquid chromatography - tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). RESULTS Compared to the control group, GDM group had significantly lower serum betaine concentration and betaine/choline ratio, and higher DMG concentration. Furthermore, decreased betaine concentration and betaine/choline ratio, increased DMG concentration showed significant association with the risk of GDM. In addition, serum betaine concentrations were negatively associated with blood glucose levels at 1-h post-glucose load (OGTT-1h), and both betaine and L-carnitine concentrations were positively associated with 1,5-anhydroglucitol levels. Betaine/choline ratio was negatively associated with OGTT-1h and blood glucose levels at 2-h post-glucose load (OGTT-2h) and serum choline concentrations were negatively associated with fasting blood glucose and positively associated with OGTT-2h. CONCLUSION Decreased serum betaine concentrations and betaine/choline ratio, and elevated DMG concentrations could be significant risk factors for GDM. Abstract
We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of n-3 fatty acids supplementation on the risk of developing depression, depressive symptoms and remission of depression. We searched PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science from inception to December 2022 to find randomised trials of n-3 fatty acids supplementation in adults. We conducted random-effects meta-analyses to estimate standardised mean differences (SMD) and 95 % CI for continuous outcomes and risk difference and 95 % CI for binary outcomes. A total of sixty-seven trials were included. Each 1 g/d n-3 fatty acids supplementation significantly improved depressive symptoms in adults with and without depression (moderate-certainty evidence), with a larger improvement in patients with existing depression. Dose-response analyses indicated a U-shaped effect in patients with existing depression, with the greatest improvement at 1·5 g/d. The analysis showed that n-3 fatty acid supplementation significantly increased depression remission by 19 more per 100 in patients with depression (low-certainty evidence). Supplementation with n-3 fatty acids did not reduce the risk of developing depression among the general population, but it did improve the severity of depression among patients with existing depression.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous research has indicated the inverse association between physical activity (PA) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). However, the dose-response relationship currently remains undetermined. This study aims to explore the dose-response relationship between PA during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy and GDM risk. METHODS Studies on the relationship between PA during pregnancy and GDM risk published before April 25, 2023, were searched for in six databases. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, all literature was screened for eligibility. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) was used to assess risk of bias. Publication bias was examined using funnel plots, Begg's and Egger's tests, as well as trim-and-fill analysis. We harmonized exposure estimates of PA during pregnancy to the common unit of the metabolic equivalent of task (MET)-h/week. Restricted cubic splines were used to model the dose-response relationship. The criteria from the World Cancer Research Fund were used to assess the certainty of evidence across outcomes. All analyses were performed using Stata 15.1. RESULTS The results indicated that in contrast with the lowest level of PA, promoting the highest PA level lowers the risk of GDM by 36% (RR = 0.64, 95%CI: 0.53 ~ 0.78). We found a curvilinear dose-response association between PA during the first trimester and incident GDM (Pnonlinearity = 0.012). Compared to inactive pregnant women, for those who achieved the guidelines-suggested minimum level (10 MET-h/week) of PA during the first trimester, the GDM risk was decreased by 13% (RR = 0.87, 95%CI: 0.79 ~ 0.96). A linear relationship was found between PA during the second trimester and the GDM risk (Pnonlinearity = 0.276). The results with a restricted cubic spline model suggested that pregnant women who accumulate 10 MET-h/week have a 1% reduced risk of GDM compared to completely inactive individuals. Twice (20 MET-h/week) or a higher amount of PA (50 MET-h/week) contributed to further reductions in GDM risk. CONCLUSION There is a dose-response relationship between higher levels of PA in both the first and second trimesters and reduced risk of GDM; the relationship is stronger in the first trimester. Abstract
OBJECTIVE The association between prepregnancy body mass index (BMI) or gestational weight gain (GWG) and adverse pregnancy outcomes among Chinese women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is unknown. This study aims to evaluate such association by synthesising the evidence. DESIGN Systematic review and meta-analysis. DATA SOURCES PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, EMBASE, China Biology Medicine disc, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wangfang, and China Science and Technology Journal Database searched from inception to 11 August 2023. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Prospective cohort studies, retrospective cohort studies and case-control studies estimating the relationship of abnormal prepregnancy BMI (including underweight, overweight or obesity) or inappropriate GWG (including excess GWG or insufficient GWG) with adverse pregnancy outcomes of interest were included. Outcomes included macrosomia, caesarean section, preterm birth, gestational hypertension, large for gestational age (LGA) and small for gestational age (SGA). DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS Two reviewers independently selected studies, extracted the data and assessed the risk of bias. OR estimate and its 95% CI were pooled using Stata software fixed-effect model. Subgroup analysis, meta-regression and sensitivity analysis were performed to ensure credibility of the results. RESULTS Twenty-three studies (eighteen retrospective cohort studies, three prospective cohort studies and two case control studies) involving 57 013 Chinese women with GDM were identified. Meta-analysis results showed that compared with GDM women with normal weight, GDM women with underweight were at a higher risk of SGA (OR=1.79 (1.54 to 2.07), five studies involving 31 967 women); women with overweight had higher risks of macrosomia (OR=1.65 (1.49 to 1.82), eleven studies involving 41 683 women), caesarean section (OR=1.48 (1.38 to 1.59), ten studies involving 34 935 women), preterm birth (OR=1.27 (1.13 to 1.43), eight studies involving 38 295 women) and LGA (OR=1.73 (1.54 to 1.95), seven studies involving 31 342 women) and women with obesity had higher risks of macrosomia (OR=2.37 (2.04 to 2.76), eleven studies involving 41 683 women), caesarean section (OR=2.07 (1.84 to 2.32), nine studies involving 34 829 women), preterm birth (OR=1.31 (1.09 to 1.57), eight studies involving 38 295 women) and LGA (OR=2.63 (2.15 to 3.21), six studies involving 31 236 women). Regard to GWG, compared with Chinese GDM women with sufficient GWG, GDM women with excessive GWG had higher risks of macrosomia (OR=1.74 (1.58 to 1.92), twelve studies involving 40 966 women), caesarean section (OR=1.44 (1.36 to 1.53), nine studies involving 36 205 women) and LGA (OR=2.12 (1.96 to 2.29), twelve studies involving 42 342 women); women with insufficient GWG conversely had higher risks of preterm birth (OR=1.59 (1.45 to 1.74), nine studies involving 37 461 women) and SGA (OR=1.38 (1.27 to 1.51), ten studies involving 41 080 women). CONCLUSIONS For Chinese women with GDM, abnormal prepregnancy BMI or inappropriate GWG were related to higher risks of many adverse pregnancy outcomes. Therefore, medical staff should pay more attention to the weight management of GDM women during pregnancy.

Abstract
Genetics plays a role in the development of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), which poses serious risks to pregnant women and their children. Several studies have demonstrated a link between GDM susceptibility and rs13266634 C/T polymorphism in SLC30A8 gene and rs1111875 C/T and rs5015480 C/T, which are located near the linkage disequilibrium block containing the IDE, HHEX, and KIF11 genes. However, the results are conflicting. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the association between susceptibility to GDM and HHEX and SLC30A8 gene polymorphisms. PubMed, Web of Science, EBSCO, CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, and SCOPUS were used to search for research articles. The quality of the selected literature was evaluated using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale. A meta-analysis was performed using Stata 15.1. Allelic, dominant, recessive, homozygote, and heterozygote models were used for the analysis. Nine articles with 15 studies were included. (1) Four studies about HHEX rs1111875 showed that the C allele was associated with the susceptibility to GDM; (2) three studies on HHEX rs5015480 indicated that the C allele in rs5015480 was significantly associated with GDM; (3) eight studies about SLC30A8 rs13266634 showed that the C allele was significantly associated with the susceptibility to GDM; and (4) a subgroup analysis showed that the rs5015480 polymorphism in HHEX and rs13266634 polymorphism in SLC30A8 gene were associated with GDM susceptibility in Asians. The meta-analysis provided evidence that the C allele in rs1111875 and rs5015480 in HHEX and rs13266634 in SLC30A8 can increase the risk of GDM.PROSPERO registration number CRD42022342280.

Abstract
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and preeclampsia (PE) are common complications in pregnancy, with incidence rates of 1-5% and 9.4%, respectively, in China. Both these phenomena can cause adverse pregnancy outcomes and are extremely harmful to the mother and fetus. In this study, we observed that several predictive factors have important value in GDM and PE. Among the GDM group, abnormal levels of adiponectin (APN), C-reactive protein (CRP), and Leptin were observed. The coexistence of PE and GDM in the pregnant population is not uncommon. Ultimately, we discovered abnormal levels of factors such as Visfatin, Advanced oxidative protein product (AOPP), Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), and resistin in both GDM and PE groups. Particularly, the FGF21 factor holds significant importance in our research. Therefore, we need to complete the analysis and discussion of relevant predictive factors to enable early prediction and disease monitoring of GDM, PE, and other pregnancy-related disorders, ultimately contributing to the long-term health of pregnant women.

Abstract
PURPOSE Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the most common metabolic disease in pregnancy. It is known that GDM is a precursor to type 2 diabetes (T2D). There is evidence that excessive gestational weight variation (GWV) increases the risk of GDM. So, in this study, we aimed to evaluate the association between GWV and the persistence of diabetes in postpartum reclassification. METHODS A retrospective observational study including pregnant women based on data from the Portuguese National Registry of Gestational Diabetes. Six-to-eight weeks after delivery, all women included underwent a reclassification test. We performed unadjusted and adjusted logistic regression models to evaluate the associations between GWV and diabetes diagnosis at the reclassification test. A subgroup analysis according to the pre-gestational BMI was also performed. RESULTS We included 10,389 pregnant women, of which 19.6% had GDM in a previous pregnancy. The median of GWV was 10.0 [6.4, 14.0] kg and was found to be higher for those with a normal BMI. At the DM reclassification test, 1% of the women were diagnosed with T2D. We found a negative association between GWV and postpartum diabetes mellitus (DM). We also present a subgroup analysis, and these associations were only significant for the group with a normal pre-gestational BMI. CONCLUSION Our results showed that women with normal pre-gestational BMI and lower GWV were more likely to have a diagnosis of DM in the postpartum reclassification test. This study helps to fill the gap in the effect of GWG on the persistence of diabetes in postpartum reclassification.

Abstract
AIMS To evaluate the effect of low glycemic index or low glycemic load diets on maternal and neonatal outcomes at high risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). DATA SYNTHESIS Several databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, OVID, Clinical Trials. gov, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biomedical Database, and Wanfang Database) were searched from January 1990 to January 2022 (updated to November 2022). Randomized controlled trials of low glycemic index diets interventions for women at high risk of GDM were included. From 2131 articles initially were screened, after eliminating duplicates, 1749 titles and abstracts were analyzed. 71 documents that met the inclusion criteria were selected and 3 documents were obtained through searching the reference lists. After reading the full text, 10 studies were retained. Two authors evaluated the studies, extracted data and conducted quality assessment independently. A total of 10 studies with 2304 patients met the inclusion criteria. Compared with the control group, a low glycemic index diet could control the range of weight gain (WMD -1.01, 95% CI -1.41 to -0.61), decrease the incidence of excessive weight gain (OR 0.69, 95% CI 0.54-0.87), lessen the incidence of large-for-gestational-age infants (OR 0.32, 95% CI 0.16-0.62) and reduce the incidence of preterm infants (OR 0.45, 95% CI 0.29-0.71). CONCLUSION A low glycemic index or low glycemic load diet could control maternal weight gain, reduce the incidence of excessive weight gain, and decrease the incidence of large-for-gestational-age infants and preterm infants in group with high risk of GDM. Abstract
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), defined as abnormal glucose tolerance that presents during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, is a growing issue in the United States and worldwide. If left untreated or poorly controlled, GDM can result in numerous consequences for both the mother and the fetus; thus, it is imperative that different avenues of management for GDM be explored. There is a paucity of studies that examine how lifestyle changes, including dietary and physical activity, affect management of GDM. We examined how counseling on lifestyle changes can affect cardiometabolic risks in women with GDM. We conducted a 12-week randomized controlled trial based on behavioral counseling in which women with GDM (N = 38) were randomized into either a nutrition education (control) (N = 18) group or nutrition intervention (N = 20) group. The nutrition education group were given dietary counseling regarding healthy dietary choices based on USDA guidelines, while the nutrition intervention group were instructed to consume a total of one cup of whole berries and one cup of leafy vegetables daily along with performing postprandial exercise (walking). Blood samples, anthropometric measures, and dietary and physical activity data, recorded in daily food and activity logs, were collected at baseline and at the end of the study and compared between the two groups. Dietary counseling on supplementation with whole berries and leafy vegetables resulted in increased fiber intake, increased antioxidant intake and total serum antioxidant capacity, improved random blood glucose, decreased serum IL-6, and improved HDL cholesterol versus the control group (all p < 0.05). These results highlight that whole berry and leafy vegetable supplementation-based dietary counseling can improve the metabolic pathways involved in gestational diabetes pathogenesis and prognosis. These functional foods must be recommended in the management of pregnancies affected by GDM.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: The purpose of this study was to describe and evaluate the bleeding that occurs during the first weeks of gestation and its implications throughout pregnancy. Secondarily, we assessed the associated complications in order to identify potential risk factors that could be used to select women at higher risk of adverse outcomes that could benefit from an early diagnosis and improved monitoring. Materials and Methods: We made a selection of all the women who consulted in the Emergency Department of the Hospital QuirónSalud in Malaga on 2015 presenting with first trimester metrorrhagia. We refer to first trimester metrorrhagia as that which occurs until week 12 + 6. Once these pregnant women were identified, we studied several variables not related to the gestation and some others associated with it and its natural course. Results: The average age of the patients assessed was 34.1. Associated gestational complications were metrorrhagia in the second trimester (6.3%), threatened preterm labor (7.4%), preeclampsia (2.5%), gestational diabetes (7.4%), late abortion (1.2%), and early postpartum hemorrhage (1.8%). We sought associations to assess possible risk factors, establishing an increased maternal age as an aggravating factor for the development of complications. We also studied gestational complications, finding a higher prevalence of them in older women, such as prematurity (33.11 vs. 34.48 years), gestational diabetes (33.11 vs. 36.06 years), and preeclampsia (33.25 vs. 35 years). Conclusions: Maternal age is a risk factor for first-trimester spontaneous miscarriage and for the development of complications of pregnancy. It is crucial to perform a correct screening of different pathologies throughout the pregnancy to anticipate potential complications.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are 50% more likely to develop type II diabetes (T2D) within 6 months to 2 years after giving birth. Therefore, international guidelines recommend it is best practice for women diagnosed with GDM to attend screening for T2D 6-12 weeks postpartum and every 1-3 years thereafter for life. However, uptake of postpartum screening is suboptimal. This study will explore the facilitators of and barriers to attending postpartum screening for T2D that women experience. STUDY DESIGN This was a prospective qualitative cohort study using thematic analysis. METHODS A total of 27 in-depth, semistructured interviews were conducted over the telephone with women who had recent GDM. Interviews were recorded and transcribed, and data were analysed using thematic analysis. RESULTS Facilitators of and barriers to attending postpartum screening were identified at three different levels: personal, intervention, and healthcare systems level. The most common facilitators identified were concern for their own health and having the importance of screening explained to them by a health professional. The most common barriers identified were confusion over the test and COVID-19. CONCLUSION This study identified several facilitators of and barriers to attending postpartum screening. These findings will help to inform research and interventions for improving rates of attendance at postpartum screening to reduce the subsequent risk of developing T2D.

Abstract
The specific effects of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) on twin pregnancy outcomes, which are at high risk per se, are unclear. The present study analyzes outcomes of twin pregnancies complicated by GDM (n = 227) by comparing them with GDM singleton pregnancies (n = 1060) and with twin pregnancies without GDM (n = 1008), all followed up at Sant'Anna Hospital, Turin (Italy), between January 2010 and March 2020. The prevalence of GDM among twin pregnancies (n = 1235) was 18.4%. Compared to GDM singletons, GDM twins had higher rates of preeclampsia (aOR 2.0; 95% CI 1.2-3.8), cesarean section (aOR 7.5; 95% CI 5.2-10.8), and neonatal hypoglycemia (aOR 2.5; 95% CI 1.1-5.3). They had a higher incidence of abnormal 2 h OGTT values (aOR 7.1; 95% CI: 3.2-15.7) and were less likely to require insulin therapy (aOR 0.5; 95% CI: 0.3-0.7). In comparison with twin pregnancies without GDM, women with GDM twins were significantly older (35.0 vs. 33.0 years; p < 0.001) and had higher BMI (23.0 versus 22.0 kg/m2; p < 0.001); they had a higher incidence of LGA newborns (aOR 5.3; 95% CI 1.7-14.8), and lower incidence of low APGAR scores (0.5; 95% CI 0.3-0.9). Overall, GDM does not worsen outcomes of twin pregnancy, which is per se at high risk for adverse outcomes.

Abstract
It was elucidated that bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) has involvement with diabetic complication. However, the role and molecular mechanism of BRD4 in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are still unclear. In this study, the mRNA and protein contents of BRD4 in placenta tissues of GDM patients and high glucose (HG)-induced HTR8/SVneo cells were detected by qRT-PCR and western blot assay. CCK-8, EdU staining, flow cytometry as well as western blot were applied for the appraisement of cell viability and apoptosis. Wound healing assay and transwell assay were conducted for the assessment of cell migration and invasion. Oxidative stress and inflammatory factors were detected. Additionally, the contents of AKT/mTOR pathway-related proteins were estimated applying western blot. It was discovered that BRD4 expression was ascended in tissues and HG-induced HTR8/SVneo cells. BRD4 downregulation cut down the contents of p-AKT and p-mTOR but had no effects on the total protein levels of AKT or mTOR in HG-induced HTR8/SVneo cells. BRD4 depletion promoted cell viability, enhanced proliferative capability, and reduced cell apoptotic level. Moreover, BRD4 depletion facilitated cell migrative and invasive capabilities, and repressed the oxidative stress as well as inflammatory damage in HG-induced HTR8/SVneo cells. The activation of Akt reversed the protective impacts of BRD4 depletion on HG-induced HTR8/SVneo cells. To sum up, BRD4 silencing may alleviate HG-induced HTR8/SVneo cell damage through the inhibition of the AKT/mTOR pathway.

Abstract
AIM To determine the percentage of change and increment in glucose levels after a normal oral glucose tolerance test between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy. METHODS We studied 3510 pregnant women who attended their obstetric delivery at a tertiary care hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2018, according to characteristics and risk 1647 (47%) patients were screened for diabetes diagnosis using the oral glucose tolerance test, 501 patients reported normal values between their 24th and 28th week of pregnancy, only 400 patients had their fasting glucose level measured on the same day of their obstetric delivery, to be compared. RESULTS Average age was 30 years, with an average of 25.3 weeks of pregnancy. The fasting serum glucose levels taken after 28 weeks of pregnancy and before the obstetrical delivery showed an increase of 1.1 mmol/L in women who develop gestational diabetes mellitus, in contrast to women who did not develop gestational diabetes mellitus after 28 weeks their blood glucose only increased on average 0.4 mmol/L. The incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus in the study population during 2018 was 32.7%. Patients who developed gestational diabetes mellitus after a normal oral glucose tolerance test had greater body mass index before the pregnancy and newborns had a higher weight than babies born to mothers without gestational diabetes mellitus. CONCLUSION Changes in glucose levels after the oral tolerance test of normal glucose require strict monitoring, in that it was demonstrated that 3% of patients developed gestational diabetes mellitus after week 28 of gestation.

Abstract
Exposure to maternal hyperglycemia in utero has been associated with adverse metabolic outcomes in offspring. However, few studies have investigated the relationship between maternal hyperglycemia and offspring cortisol levels. We assessed associations of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) with cortisol biomarkers in two longitudinal prebirth cohorts: Project Viva included 928 mother-child pairs and Gen3G included 313 mother-child pairs. In Project Viva, GDM was diagnosed in N = 48 (5.2%) women using a two-step procedure (50 g glucose challenge test, if abnormal followed by 100 g oral glucose tolerance test [OGTT]), and in N = 29 (9.3%) women participating in Gen3G using one-step 75 g OGTT. In Project Viva, we measured cord blood glucocorticoids and child hair cortisol levels during mid-childhood (mean (SD) age: 7.8 (0.8) years) and early adolescence (mean (SD) age: 13.2 (0.9) years). In Gen3G, we measured hair cortisol at 5.4 (0.3) years. We used multivariable linear regression to examine associations of GDM with offspring cortisol, adjusting for child age and sex, maternal prepregnancy body mass index, education, and socioeconomic status. We additionally adjusted for child race/ethnicity in the cord blood analyses. In both Project Viva and Gen3G, we observed null associations of GDM and maternal glucose markers in pregnancy with cortisol biomarkers in cord blood at birth (β = 16.6 nmol/L, 95% CI -60.7, 94.0 in Project Viva) and in hair samples during childhood (β = -0.56 pg/mg, 95% CI -1.16, 0.04 in Project Viva; β = 0.09 pg/mg, 95% CI -0.38, 0.57 in Gen3G). Our findings do not support the hypothesis that maternal hyperglycemia is related to hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis activity.

Abstract
Objective We aimed to explore whether irisin participates in the beneficial effects of exercise in preventing gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in overweight and obese pregnant women. Study design Sixty overweight and obese pregnant women each in the exercise and control groups were randomly selected from our previous randomized controlled trial. Eighteen obese model mice were generated and divided into exercise and control groups in which body weight, abdominal circumference, anal temperature, glucose tolerance test, and insulin tolerance test were recorded. The plasma irisin level, the expression of PGC-1α/FNDC5 and brown (UCP1) and beige adipose (CD137, TMEM26, and TBX-1) marker genes were detected in muscle and adipose tissue. Results In the human study, women in the exercise group had a significantly higher irisin level and lower insulin resistance level than those in the control group. Enhanced expression of beige adipose tissue marker genes (CD137, TMEM26, and TBX-1) in omental adipose tissue and the CD137 gene in subcutaneous adipose tissue were found in the exercise group compared to the control group. In a mouse model, body weight and abdominal circumference were decreased, while glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity were significantly improved, and anal temperature was elevated after exercise intervention. A significantly higher level of irisin was revealed in the exercise group after undergoing exercise treatment. The expression of the beige adipose marker genes CD137 and TBX-1 was significantly higher in the exercise group than in the control group in posterior subcutaneous adipose tissue from the inguinal area and interscapular adipose tissue respectively. Conclusion Our observations show that regular exercise during pregnancy can increase irisin levels, promote white fat beiging/browning, improve glucose homeostasis and enhance body energy expenditure, which may be one of the mechanisms by which exercise prevents GDM.

Abstract
The root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, also called Huangqin, is frequently used in traditional Chinese medicine. In ancient China, S. baicalensis root was used to clear heat, protect the fetus, and avoid a miscarriage for thousands of years. In modern times, pregnancy-related diseases can seriously affect maternal and fetal health, but few systematic studies have explored the mechanisms and potential targets of S. baicalensis root in the treatment of pregnancy-related diseases. Flavonoids (baicalein, wogonin and oroxylin A) and flavonoid glycosides (baicalin and wogonoside) are the main chemical components in the root of S. baicalensis. This study presents the current understanding of the major chemical components in the root of S. baicalensis, focusing on their traditional uses, potential therapeutic effects and ethnopharmacological relevance to pregnancy-related disorders. The mechanisms, potential targets and experimental models of S. baicalensis root for ameliorating pregnancy-related diseases, such as recurrent spontaneous abortion, preeclampsia, preterm birth, fetal growth restriction and gestational diabetes mellitus, are highlighted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) prevalence has risen in the U.S. and worldwide over the past decade. Minority groups, especially Asian and Hispanic women, are often disproportionately affected by GDM. Identifying modifiable risk factors such as sleep-disordered breathing and smoking and their interaction with race/ethnicity could play a pivotal role in preventing GDM. METHODS Data from the 2017-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) were used to run a survey-weighted multivariable logistic regression assessing the association between sleep-disordered breathing and smoking with GDM among women aged 15-60 (n = 1326). The interaction term of the two predictors and race/ethnicity was introduced to the model to assess the interaction effect. The analyses were adjusted for age, marital status, education level, and BMI. RESULTS Approximately 13% of the participants reported having GDM. The lowest prevalence was observed among Non-Hispanic Blacks (7.8%) and the highest was among Other (15.5%). Sleep-disordered breathing was significantly associated with GDM (OR = 1.69, 95% CI 1.05, 2.73). No statistically significant association was observed between smoking and GDM (OR = 1.03, 95% CI 0.47, 2.27), and neither was the association between race/ethnicity and GDM. Furthermore, none of the interaction effects were statistically significant. CONCLUSION Preventive strategies targeting GDM should focus on improving modifiable risk factors, such as sleep-disordered breathing. It is important to screen women with sleep-disordered breathing and monitor their blood sugar before becoming pregnant to prevent the development of GDM. Future studies are recommended to understand the lower prevalence of GDM among Black women and the higher prevalence among "Other" race group which mostly includes Asian women.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The prevalence of women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is increasing dramatically. Mobile technologies to enhance patient self-management offer many advantages for women diagnosed with GDM. However, to our knowledge, although mobile health (mHealth) and telemedicine systems for GDM management exist, evidence on their cultural and digital health literacy appropriateness levels is limited. OBJECTIVE This review aimed to search and assess the literature on mHealth and telemedicine systems designed for women diagnosed with GDM. Our assessment of these technologies focused on their cultural and digital health literacy appropriateness as well as the systems' effectiveness in improving glycemic control and maternal and infant outcomes. METHODS We conducted a scoping review using a framework adapted from Arksey and O'Malley. Four electronic databases were searched for relevant studies: PubMed, MEDLINE (EBSCO), Web of Science, and Scopus. The databases were searched between January 2010 and January 2022. The inclusion criteria were pregnant women diagnosed with GDM, use of telemedicine for monitoring and management, and vulnerable or disadvantaged patients. We used terms related to mobile apps and telemedicine: GDM, vulnerable populations, periphery, cultural appropriateness, and digital health literacy. Studies were screened and selected independently by 2 authors. We extracted the study data on a Microsoft Excel charting table and categorized them into final themes. The results were categorized according to the cultural and digital health literacy features presented. RESULTS We identified 17 studies that reported on 12 telemedicine and mHealth app interventions. We assessed the studies in three domains: cultural appropriateness, digital health literacy, and maternal and infant outcomes. In the literature, we found that existing digital technologies may improve glycemic control and diabetes self-management. However, there is a lack of assessment of cultural and digital health literacy appropriateness for pregnant women diagnosed with GDM. Considerations in app design regarding cultural appropriateness were found in only 12% (2/17) of the studies, and only 25% (3/12) of the interventions scored ≥3 out of 5 in our assessment of digital health literacy. CONCLUSIONS mHealth and telemedicine can be an effective platform to improve the clinical management of women with GDM. Although studies published on the use of mHealth and telemedicine systems exist, there is a limited body of knowledge on the digital health literacy and cultural appropriateness of the systems designed for women diagnosed with GDM. In addition, as our study was restricted to the English language, relevant studies may have been excluded. Further research is needed to evaluate, design, and implement better tailored apps regarding cultural and digital literacy appropriateness for enhancing pregnant women's self-management as well as the effectiveness of these apps in improving maternal and infant health outcomes.

Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation of blood glucose and islet function with serum retinol-binding protein 4, serum cystatin C, and nesfatin-1 levels in women with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods Between June 2018 and June 2020, 70 patients with gestational diabetes mellitus were included in a study group and 70 healthy pregnant women were recruited into a healthy group. Alterations in fasting blood glucose (FPG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting serum insulin (FINS), homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), serum retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4), serum cystatin C (CysC), and nesfatin-1 of all eligible participants were analyzed, and the occurrence of complications was recorded. Correlation analysis of serum RBP4, serum CysC, and nesfatin-1 levels with blood glucose and islet function in women with gestational diabetes mellitus was performed. Results Gestational diabetes mellitus was associated with significantly higher levels of FPG, HbA1c, and HOMA-IR and lower levels of FINS (6.58 ± 1.41, 9.24 ± 1.09, 3.21 ± 2.03, 8.23 ± 2.21) versus a healthy condition (5.23 ± 0.85, 7.61 ± 0.67, 2.42 ± 1.14, 10.54 ± 2.15) (P < 0.05). Women with gestational diabetes mellitus showed significantly higher levels of serum RBP4, serum CysC, and nesfatin-1 (62.45 ± 7.86, 1.95 ± 0.59, 2.65 ± 0.49) versus healthy pregnant women (45.48 ± 6.15, 1.03 ± 0.67, 1.42 ± 0.62) (P < 0.05). With serum RBP4, serum CysC, and nesfatin-1 as dependent variables, univariate correlation analysis showed that serum RBP4, serum CysC, and nesfatin-1 levels were positively correlated with FPG and HbA1c levels and HOMA-IR, and negatively correlated with FINS in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (P < 0.05). Gestational diabetes mellitus resulted in a significantly higher incidence of preterm delivery, cesarean section, excess amniotic fluid, and premature rupture of membranes versus a healthy status (P < 0.05). Conclusion Glucose metabolism and islet function in women with gestational diabetes are significantly correlated with serum RBP4, serum CysC, and nesfatin-1 levels, which shows great potential for the prevention and treatment of gestational diabetes mellitus and perinatal complications.

Abstract
PURPOSE To study the prediction of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in high-risk pregnant women by testing fasting blood glucose, 1-h(1hPG) and 2-h plasma glucose (2hPG) after an oral glucose tolerance test, and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in early pregnancy (6-14 weeks). METHODS We recruited 1311 pregnant women at high risk for diabetes from the Obstetrics Clinic of Daxing District People's Hospital between June 2017 and December 2019. The tests performed during the first trimester included fasting blood glucose (FPG), HbA1c, and 75-g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) with 1hPG and 2hPG. Seventy-three pregnant women diagnosed with pregestational diabetes mellitus (PGDM) early in pregnancy and 36 who were missed in the second trimester were excluded. A total of 1202 women were followed up until 24-28 weeks for GDM. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and area under the ROC curve (AUC) were calculated to determine the predictive values of FPG, 1hPG, 2hPG, and HbA1c for GDM in early pregnancy in high-risk pregnant women. RESULTS The AUC for 1hPG for the prediction of GDM in high-risk pregnant women was greater than those for FPG, 2hPG, and HbA1c. All differences were significant. The AUCs for the predictive values of FPG, 1hPG, 2hPG, and HbA1c in high-risk pregnant women were 0.63, 0.76, 0.71, and 0.67, respectively. The prevalence of PGDM among pregnant women at high risk of diabetes was 5.6%. CONCLUSION First-trimester levels of FPG, 1hPG, 2hPG, and HbA1c in high-risk women are significant predictors of GDM, with 1hPG having the most significant predictive value.

Abstract
Long-noncoding RNA HOXA transcript at the distal tip (HOTTIP) has been probed to exert essential effects on diabetes progression, while its function in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains unclear. This study was committed to unravel the effects of HOTTIP on GDM progression via the microRNA (miR)-423-5p/wingless-type MMTV integration site family member 7A (WNT7A) axis. The GDM mouse model was established. HOTTIP, miR-423-5p and WNT7A levels in GDM mice were examined. The saline with dissolved various constructs altering HOTTIP, miR-423-5p and WNT7A expression was injected into GDM mice to detect the levels of GDM‐related biochemical indices, HOMA indices, liver gluconease: expression levels of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK), glucose-6-phosphatase (G-6-Pase), glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) and pathological changes of pancreatic tissues, and the apoptosis rate of pancreatic cells in GDM mice. The relations among HOTTIP, miR-423-5p and WNT7A were validated. HOTTIP and WNT7A levels were decreased while miR-423-5p was elevated in GDM mice. The enriched HOTTIP or silenced miR-423-5p alleviated the levels of GDM‐relatedbiochemical indices, enhanced the insulin homeostasis, elevated GLUT2 expression and decreased G-6-pase and PEPCK expression, mitigated the pathological changes of pancreatic tissues, and hindered the apoptosis of pancreatic cells. MiR-143-5p upregulation abrogated the effects of elevated HOTTIP on repressing GDM; whereas WNT7A deletion reversed the therapeutic effects of reduced miR-423-5p. HOTTIP sponged miR-423-5p that targeted WNT7A. HOTTIP ameliorates insulin resistance and hepatic gluconeogenesis in GDM mice via the modulation of the miR-423-5p/WNT7A axis. This study affords novel therapeutic modalities for GDM treatment.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) affects about 15% of pregnancies in Australia, with approximately 30% of those diagnosed with GDM requiring insulin therapy. There are several established risk factors for developing GDM, however limited studies show how these can be used to predict need for insulin treatment. The aim of this study is to identify predictors of insulin therapy in women diagnosed with GDM once an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is performed during pregnancy. STUDY DESIGN This is a retrospective cohort study of women with singleton pregnancies complicated by GDM between 2016 and 2017 at a single, large health network in Melbourne, Australia. Data were obtained from hospital record and pathology result systems. Univariable and multivariable logistic regression models were fit to the data to obtain crude and adjusted odds ratios. RESULTS Of 2,048 women diagnosed with GDM, 647 (31.6%) required insulin therapy. Positive predictors included in the final multivariable model after backwards, stepwise elimination were an elevated fasting result on an OGTT (adjusted odds ratio (AOR) 2.93 [95% CI 2.34-3.66]), previous birth weight greater than 90th% (AOR 2.04 [95% CI 1.412.94]), previous diagnosis of GDM (AOR 1.68 [95% CI 1.28-2.21]), being born in the South Asian region (AOR 1.58 [95% CI 1.27-1.98]), the 2hr OGTT result (AOR 1.14 [95% CI 1.05-1.24]), body mass index (BMI; AOR 1.13 [95% CI 1.04-1.23]) and age (AOR 1.03 [95% CI 1.00-1.05]) The final predictive model had an area under the receiver-operating characteristics (ROC) curve of 0.744 (95% CI 0.720-0.767). CONCLUSIONS This study highlights the possible predictors of insulin use, informing counselling for women who are newly diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the most common medical complication of pregnancy. The current study aimed to investigate the possibility of a relationship between affective temperaments and GDM. METHODS This ethically approved cross-sectional study was conducted on 120 pregnant women with impaired glucose tolerance and 120 healthy pregnant women, all of whom were admitted to hospitals affiliated with Mashhad University of Medical Sciences for delivery during 2019. Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS)-21 and Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris and San Diego-auto-questionnaire (TEMPS-A) were used to gather data. Mann-Whitney test was used to compare data between the two groups. A multivariate binary logistic regression model with maternal age, body mass index, and multiparity as the covariates was used to assess factors associated with GDM. RESULTS Outcomes of TEMPS-A showed significantly higher scores of anxious and irritable temperaments in the GDM group compared to the control group (p = 0.014 and 0.023, respectively). Multivariate regression showed anxious temperament to be the sole independent predictor of GDM (odds ratio = 1.09, 95%confidence interval = 1.030-1.153; p = 0.003). DASS-21 anxiety score was also significantly higher among patients with GDM (p = 0.002). Severity of anxiety and stress according to DASS-21 was also significantly greater in patients with impaired glucose tolerance (p < 0.001 and p = 0.016, respectively). CONCLUSIONS It is ostensible that affective temperaments, especially anxious temperament, are potentially associated with the development of GDM and impaired glucose metabolism during pregnancy.Key pointsThe association of affective temperaments with pregnancy complications has drawn compelling interest.The findings of this study showed significantly higher scores of anxious and irritable temperaments in GDM patients.GDM patients also showed significantly higher levels of anxiety compared to controls.Predominance of anxious temperament can be a potential risk factor that contributes to the development of GDM.Monitoring for GDM is especially recommended in pregnant women with predominant anxious and irritable temperaments.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the influence of genetic variants and clinical characteristics on the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and to construct and verify a prediction model of GDM in early pregnancy. METHODS Four hundred seventy five women with GDM and 487 women without, as a control, were included to construct the prediction model of GDM in early pregnancy. Both groups had complete genotyping results and clinical data. They were randomly divided into a trial cohort (70%) and a test cohort (30%). Then, the model validation cohort, including 985 pregnant women, was used for the external validation of the GDM early pregnancy prediction model. RESULTS We found maternal age, gravidity, parity, BMI and family history of diabetes were significantly associated with GDM (OR > 1; P < 0.001), and assisted reproduction was a critical risk factor for GDM (OR = 1.553, P = 0.055). MTNR1B rs10830963, C2CD4A/B rs1436953 and rs7172432, CMIP rs16955379 were significantly correlated with the incidence of GDM (AOR > 1, P < 0.05). Therefore, these four genetic susceptible single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and six clinical characteristics were included in the construction of the GDM early pregnancy prediction model. In the trial cohort, a predictive model of GDM in early pregnancy was constructed, in which genetic risk score was independently associated with GDM (AOR = 2.061, P < 0.001) and was the most effective predictor with the exception of family history of diabetes. The ROC-AUC of the prediction model was 0.727 (95% CI 0.690-0.765), and the sensitivity and specificity were 69.9% and 64.0%, respectively. The predictive power was also verified in the test cohort and the validation cohort. CONCLUSIONS Based on the genetic variants and clinical characteristics, this study developed and verified the early pregnancy prediction model of GDM. This model can help screen out the population at high-risk for GDM in early pregnancy, and lifestyle interventions can be performed for them in a timely manner in early pregnancy.

Abstract
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is characterized by a set of metabolic complications arising from adaptive failures to the pregnancy period. Estimates point to a prevalence of 3 to 15% of pregnancies. Its etiology includes intrinsic and extrinsic aspects of the progenitress, which may contribute to the pathophysiogenesis of GDM. Recently, researchers have identified that inflammation, oxidative stress, and the gut microbiota participate in the development of the disease, with potentially harmful effects on the health of the maternal-fetal binomial, in the short and long terms. In this context, alternative therapies were investigated from two perspectives: the modulation of the intestinal microbiota, with probiotics and prebiotics, and the use of natural products with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which may mitigate the endogenous processes of the GDM, favoring the health of the mother and her offspring, and in a future perspective, alleviating this critical public health problem.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Exposure to environmental endocrine disruptors (EDCs) may lead to abnormal glucose metabolism and, potentially, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). OBJECTIVE We investigated the association between five endocrine-disrupting heavy metals (EDHMs), i.e., arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), and tin (Sn), in maternal hair and the risk of GDM. METHODS We conducted a nested case-control study including 335 GDM cases and 343 controls without GDM based on a prospective birth cohort established in Beijing, China. Concentrations of EDHMs were analyzed in maternal hair. Log-binomial regression and multiple linear regression were used to estimate the associations between the hair concentrations of single metals and the risk of GDM, while weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression for their mixed effects. RESULTS The median concentrations of Hg (0.442 vs. 0.403 μg/g) and Sn (0.171 vs. 0.140 μg/g) in the case group were significantly higher than those in the control group. No differences were found between the two groups for the other three metals. After adjusting for confounders, the prevalence ratio (PR; highest vs. lowest tertile) of GDM risk for Hg was 1.27 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.05-1.54), while that for Sn was 1.26 (95% CI: 1.04-1.53). Among women with a body mass index < 24 kg/m2, the PR (highest vs. lowest tertile) of GDM for Sn was 1.38 (95% CI: 1.09-1.75). The effect of exposure to the five EDHMs on the risk of GDM was estimated by WQS regression: Sn and Hg made the largest contributions to the WQS index (40.9% and 40.3%, respectively). CONCLUSION High maternal levels of EDHMs, particularly Sn and Hg, may promote the development of GDM.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To examine the relationships among neighborhood poverty, access to healthy food, and diabetes self-management in pregnant women in an urban setting who received perinatal nurse home visits. DESIGN Exploratory descriptive secondary analysis of existing individual-level and neighborhood-level data. SETTING Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. PARTICIPANTS Women who were pregnant, had diabetes, and were enrolled in the citywide perinatal nurse home visiting program because of their diabetes (N = 264). METHODS We retrieved neighborhood-level aggregated data on poverty and access to healthy food from PolicyMap, a geographic information system. We retrieved individual-level data from a clinical research database. Access to healthy food was operationalized at the individual level by reported use of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). We operationalized diabetes self-management as good or poor glycemic control. We conducted descriptive and logistic regression analyses. RESULTS We found no relationship between neighborhood-level poverty and neighborhood-level access to healthy food with women's glycemic control. However, at the individual level, use of the WIC program was associated with glycemic control (p = .034). Participants who reported not using this program were two times more likely to have poor glycemic control than those who did (OR = 2.045, 95% confidence interval [1.003, 2.045]). CONCLUSION It is important to understand how the complex interplay between neighborhoods and individual factors of poverty and access to healthy food influences health outcomes among pregnant women. The WIC program may mediate neighborhood influence on diabetes self-management. Future research is warranted on how this program and nurse home visiting services can optimize maternal health outcomes among women who have diabetes during pregnancy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We aimed to investigate the efficacy of Shenqi Jiangtang granules-assisted Western medicine in the treatment of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). METHODS A total of 147 patients with GDM treated in Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from Jan 2018 to Apr 2019 were enrolled. They were randomly divided into traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) combined with Western medicine group, Western medicine group and control group. The control group was treated with exercise combined with diet therapy, and the Western medicine group was additionally treated with metformin tablets. The TCM combined with Western medicine group was additionally treated with Shenqi Jiangtang granules. RESULTS After treatment, the levels of 10 indicators in the three groups were lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05). These indicators were the lowest in the TCM combined with Western medicine group. However, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) after treatment increased in the three groups compared with those before treatment (P < 0.05), which was the most obvious in the TCM combined with Western medicine group. After treatment, the number of patients with natural delivery in the TCM combined with Western medicine group was the largest. The incidences of complications in pregnant women, fetuses and newborns were the lowest in the TCM combined with Western medicine group. CONCLUSION Application of Shenqi Jiangtang granules-assisted Western medicine in patients with GDM can effectively control blood glucose and lipid levels, enhance antioxidant capacity, reduce the levels of inflammatory cytokines and decrease the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Humans are widely exposed to environmental perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which may affect glucose homeostasis. However, research linking PFAS exposure to glucose homeostasis during pregnancy is limited and the results were inconsistent. We aimed to investigate the association between PFAS exposure and glucose homeostasis in pregnancy in a large prospective cohort. METHODS A total of 2747 pregnant women who participated in the Shanghai Birth Cohort, had blood samples in early pregnancy and completed a 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) at 24-28 gestational weeks were included. 10 PFAS were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS-MS) in the plasma samples in early pregnancy. Logistic regression was used to explore the associations between PFAS concentrations and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), while multiple linear regression was used to model the associations between PFAS and OGTT fasting, 1-h and 2-h glucose levels. Potential confounders were adjusted. Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) and a quantile-based g-computation approach (qgcomp) were employed to explore the joint and independent effects of PFAS on glucose homeostasis. RESULTS The incidence of GDM was 11.8%. One log-unit increment in plasma concentrations in early pregnancy was associated with an increased risk of GDM for perfluorobutane sulfonate (PFBS) (adjusted odd ratio (aOR) = 1.23, 95% confidence interval (95% CI): 1.05, 1.44) and perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA) (aOR = 1.25, 95% CI: 1.07, 1.46). Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA), perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA), perfluorohexanesulfonate (PFHxS) and PFHpA were positively correlated with 1-h and 2-h glucose levels. Results of the mixed exposure model showed that the joint effects of PFAS were significantly associated with abnormal glucose homeostasis; In the BKMR model, PFAS mixture exposure was positively associated with the GDM incidence, 1-h and 2-h glucose levels and negatively correlated with FBG level. A similar trend could be observed in qgcomp and the positive correlation between PFAS and 2-h glucose level was significant (β = 0.12, 95% CI: 0.04, 0.20). PFOS, PFNA and PFHpA may be the main contributors after controlling for other PFAS congeners. PFOS was significantly correlated with GDM incidence and 2-h glucose level, and PFHpA was significantly associated with FBG and 2-h glucose levels. The above associations were more prominent among women with a normal prepregnant BMI. CONCLUSIONS Environmental exposure to PFAS may affect glucose homeostasis in pregnancy and increase the risk of GDM, especially in normal weight women.

Associations of Diet with Cardiometabolic and Inflammatory Profiles in Pregnant Women at Risk for Metabolic Complications. Abstract
Dietary intakes play an important role in the development of metabolic complications during pregnancy. While reported observational studies reveal an inverse association of healthy diets with weight gain, gestational diabetes, and hypertensive complications during pregnancy, there is a paucity of studies conducted among women of specific ethnicities vulnerable to higher risks of pregnancy complications. This is a secondary cross sectional analysis using baseline data from a previously reported clinical trial. We aim to identify associations of maternal habitual dietary intakes with cardiometabolic risks and inflammatory profiles in primarily African American (AA) and Hispanic women in the first half of pregnancy. Fifty-two women met the study criteria and anthropometric, clinical, and dietary data were obtained at baseline. Linear regression analysis was used to determine associations after covariate adjustments. Among the maternal dietary nutrient intakes, total fats were positively associated with maternal body weight, BMI, and serum CRP (β ± SE: 0.25 ± 0.13, 0.28 ± 0.18, and 0.29 ± 0.14, respectively, all p < 0.05), and saturated fats were positively associated with glycated hemoglobin (0.32 ± 0.12). Dietary fiber intake showed a consistent inverse association with body weight (-0.26 ± 0.13), BMI (-0.19 ± 0.15), glycated hemoglobin (-0.22 ± 0.16), as well as serum CRP (-0.19 ± 0.14). Among the maternal food group intakes, dairy intake was inversely associated with systolic blood pressure (-0.18 ± 0.15) and serum IL-6 (-0.22 ± 0.17), and vegetable intake showed an inverse association with serum CRP (-0.17 ± 0.12) all in adjusted analyses (all p < 0.05). Thus, maternal diet modifications, especially decreasing fats and increasing fiber and dairy may help address obesity and inflammation leading to pregnancy complications in AA and Hispanic women.

Abstract
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a serious complication of pregnancy and is defined as a state of glucose intolerance that is first diagnosed and arises during gestation. Although the pathophysiology of GDM has not yet been thoroughly clarified, insulin resistance and pancreatic β-cell dysfunction are considered critical components of its etiopathogenesis. To sustain fetus growth and guarantee mother health, many significant changes in maternal metabolism are required in normal and high-risk pregnancy accompanied by potential complications. Adipokines, adipose tissue-derived hormones, are proteins with pleiotropic functions including a strong metabolic influence in physiological conditions and during pregnancy too. A growing number of studies suggest that various adipokines including adiponectin, leptin, visfatin, resistin and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) are dysregulated in GDM and might have pathological significance and a prognostic value in this pregnancy disorder. In this review, we will focus on the current knowledge on the role that the aforementioned adipokines play in the development and progression of GDM.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Management of gestational diabetes (GDM) is currently changing toward a more personalized approach. There is a growing number of GDM patients requiring only a single dose of basal insulin at night to achieve glucose control. Well-known risk factors like obesity, parity and family history have been associated with GDM treatment requirements. Sleep quality and lifestyle factors interfering with the circadian rhythm are known to affect glucose metabolism. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of such lifestyle factors on insulin requirement in GDM patients, in particular on long-acting insulin to control fasting glucose levels. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS A total of 805 patients treated for GDM between 2012 and 2016 received a study questionnaire on lifestyle conditions. Sleep quality and work condition categories were used for subgroup analysis. Independent effects on treatment approaches were evaluated using multivariate regression. RESULTS In total, 235 (29.2%) questionnaires returned. Women reporting poor sleep conditions had higher pre-pregnancy weight and BMI, heavier newborns, more large for gestational age newborns and higher rates of hyperbilirubinemia. Treatment requirements were related to sleep and work condition categories. Multivariate regression for 'Basal' insulin-only treatment revealed an adjOR 3.4 (CI 1.23-9.40, p < 0.05) for unfavorable work conditions and adjOR 4.3 (CI 1.28-14.50, p < 0.05) for living with children. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that external stressors like unfavorable work conditions and living with children are independently associated with the necessity of long-acting insulin at night in GDM patients. Thus, fasting glucose levels of pregnant women presenting with such lifestyle conditions may be subject to close monitoring.

Abstract
Background With the comprehensive implementation of the second child policy in China, the proportion of multiparous women has increased dramatically in the past few years. As nearly half of them have a history of previous cesarean delivery, there is widespread concern regarding complications of their pregnancy. Methods The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the previous delivery mode on subsequent pregnancy outcomes in the real world based on data from a Chinese birth registry. Birth registry data from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 among a Chinese population were collected and analyzed retrospectively. This study included 14 representative hospitals from 10 provinces of China. All delivery data were collected by an internet-based system using a birth registration platform. The study enrolled 36,355 multiparas. Information extracted for analysis included basic demographic characteristics, previous delivery mode, current delivery mode, major maternal complications, and neonatal outcomes. Pregnancy outcomes of women with previous cesarean delivery (PCS group, n=14,774) were compared with the outcomes of women with previous vaginal delivery (PVD group, n=21,581). Results There were statistically significant differences in the major pregnancy outcomes between the PCS group and the PVD group. The PCS group had a higher incidence of cesarean section (CS), placenta previa, postpartum hemorrhage, uterus rupture, hysterectomy, gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, delivery before 37 weeks of gestation, low birth weight, and Apgar Score at 5 min ≤3. Conclusions Women with previous cesarean delivery had poorer pregnancy outcomes than women with previous vaginal delivery. Avoiding unnecessary CS, especially in primiparas is essential to improving maternal and neonatal outcomes in later pregnancies.

Abstract
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the metabolic disorder that appears during pregnancy. The current investigation aimed to identify central differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in GDM. The transcription profiling by array data (E-MTAB-6418) was obtained from the ArrayExpress database. The DEGs between GDM samples and non-GDM samples were analyzed. Functional enrichment analysis were performed using ToppGene. Then we constructed the protein–protein interaction (PPI) network of DEGs by the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes database (STRING) and module analysis was performed. Subsequently, we constructed the miRNA–hub gene network and TF–hub gene regulatory network. The validation of hub genes was performed through receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). Finally, the candidate small molecules as potential drugs to treat GDM were predicted by using molecular docking. Through transcription profiling by array data, a total of 869 DEGs were detected including 439 up-regulated and 430 down-regulated genes. Functional enrichment analysis showed these DEGs were mainly enriched in reproduction, cell adhesion, cell surface interactions at the vascular wall and extracellular matrix organization. Ten genes, HSP90AA1, EGFR, RPS13, RBX1, PAK1, FYN, ABL1, SMAD3, STAT3 and PRKCA were associated with GDM, according to ROC analysis. Finally, the most significant small molecules were predicted based on molecular docking. This investigation identified hub genes, signal pathways and therapeutic agents, which might help us, enhance our understanding of the mechanisms of GDM and find some novel therapeutic agents for GDM.
