Abstract
PURPOSE The Programme for Ocular Inflammation & Infection Translational Research (PROTON) registry collects real-world data on infectious and non-infectious ocular inflammatory diseases (OID) to enhance understanding of disease progression and treatment outcomes. This report presents the baseline characteristics of patients enrolled in two international multicentric studies, OASIS 1 and OASIS 2, over the first two years. DESIGN A cross-sectional observational study. METHODS PROTON is an observational ambispective cohort registry comprising OASIS 1, a retrospective study (2000-2021), and OASIS 2, a prospective study (2021 onwards). Data is collected at multiple intervals over a 10-year period, focusing on various OID. Participants include patients diagnosed with anterior uveitis, intermediate uveitis, posterior uveitis, panuveitis, scleritis, retinal vasculitis, and neuroretinitis. Baseline characteristics, ocular examinations, and treatment outcomes are recorded. RESULTS A total of 2640 patients (3642 eyes) have been recruited across 17 centers worldwide. Infectious was the most common etiology (31.6 %), followed by idiopathic (28.1 %), undetermined (21.7 %), and non-infectious (16.0 %). Most patients (54.8 %) were male, with anterior uveitis being the most common anatomical location (37.5 %). Visual impairment was present in 53.2 % of cases, with 18.8 % experiencing moderate (0.5-1.0 LogMAR) and 22.6 % severe impairment (>1.0 LogMAR). Tuberculosis (64.0 %) and toxoplasmosis (13.5 %) were the leading infectious causes, while HLA-B27-associated uveitis accounted for 19.4 % of non-infectious cases. CONCLUSIONS The PROTON registry provides valuable insights into the global spectrum of OID, with a substantial representation of infectious causes. This real-world evidence highlights the key prevalence of visual impairment and underscores the importance of research on this topic. As the registry evolves, it will help refine clinical management strategies and improve patient outcomes globally.

Abstract
During the last decade, spondyloarthritis (SpA) has increasingly been considered a disease at the crossroads between autoimmunity and autoinflammation. Some patients may even present with autoinflammatory-related manifestations, including fever, hidradenitis suppurativa, other neutrophilic dermatoses, and an unusually high increase in inflammatory markers. Therefore, a subgroup of SpA patients may be identified, and specific details about this cluster need to be investigated. In this regard, the AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) Network has developed a registry primarily aimed at better understanding the autoinflammatory aspects of SpA. The development of this Registry favors the systematic assessment of SpA through the lens of autoinflammation, giving a voice to patients with atypical presentations, and favoring a personalized treatment approach. By supporting research and facilitating the transfer of new evidence to clinical practice, this specific registry has the potential to significantly advance the field of rheumatology and enhance the lives of patients suffering from this complex and multifaceted disease.

Abstract
PURPOSE The clinical relevance of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) subtypes such as HLA-B51 on Behçet's disease (BD)-related uveitis and non-infectious uveitis (NIU) unrelated to BD remains largely unknown. METHODS Data were prospectively collected from the International AIDA Network Registry for BD and for NIU. We assessed differences between groups (NIU unrelated to BD and positive for HLA-B51, BD-related uveitis positive for HLA-B51 and BD-related uveitis negative for HLA-B51) in terms of long-term ocular complications, visual acuity (VA) measured by best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), anatomical pattern, occurrence of retinal vasculitis (RV) and macular edema over time. RESULTS Records of 213 patients (341 eyes) were analyzed. No differences in complications were observed (p = 0.465). With regard to VA, a significant difference was detected in median BCVA (p = 0.046), which was not maintained after Bonferroni correction (p = 0.060). RV was significantly more prevalent in NIU-affected patients who tested positive for HLA-B51, irrespective of the systemic diagnosis of BD (p = 0.025). No differences emerged in the occurrence of macular edema (p = 0.99). CONCLUSIONS Patients with NIU testing positive for HLA-B51 exhibit an increased likelihood of RV throughout disease course, irrespective of a systemic diagnosis of BD. The rate of complications as well as VA are comparable between NIU cases unrelated to BD testing positive for HLA-B51 and uveitis associated with BD. Therefore, it is advisable to perform the HLA-B typing in patients with NIU or retinal vasculitis, even in the absence of typical BD features.

Abstract
Introduction Non-infectious inflammatory ocular diseases pose significant challenges in diagnosis and management, often requiring systemic immunosuppressive therapy. Since Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors may represent a novel therapeutic option for these disorders, the present study aimed to expand current knowledge about their efficacy and safety in patients with these conditions. Methods This prospective cohort study included 12 adult patients from the international AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) Network registries dedicated to non-infectious ocular inflammatory conditions. We assessed ocular flares, visual acuity, disease course, and complications before and after initiating JAK inhibitor therapy. Results Ocular inflammation was related to a systemic disease in 8 (66.7%) patients as follows: spondyloarthritis (n = 3), peripheral psoriatic arthritis (n = 1), rheumatoid arthritis (n = 1), antinuclear antibodies (ANA) positive juvenile idiopathic arthritis (n = 1), Behçet's syndrome (n = 1), Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome (n = 1). In total, 4 patients received baricitinib, 1 patient received tofacitinib, and 7 patients underwent upadacitinib treatment. The overall average duration of JAK inhibitors treatment was 8.6 ± 5.5 months (ranging from 3 to 20 months). At the last assessment, ocular disease control was complete in 12/12 patients. One patient discontinued baricitinib due to poor compliance after a 12-month relapse-free period. The incidence of ocular flares was 125 episodes/1.000 person-months prior to the initiation of JAK inhibitors and 28.6 episodes/1.000 person-months thereafter. The incidence rate ratio for experiencing a relapse before starting a JAK inhibitor compared to the following period was 4.37 (95% CI 1.3-14.7, p-value: 0.02). Conclusion JAK inhibitors demonstrate efficacy and safety in controlling ocular inflammatory relapses, confirming that they represent a valuable treatment option for patients with non-infectious inflammatory ocular diseases resistant to conventional treatments.

Abstract
Objectives To evaluate glomerular and tubular renal functions and analyze blood pressure in a cohort of pediatric patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Methods A total of 40 pediatric patients, 20 (50%) with JIA and 20 (50%) healthy control subjects, were studied, and performed the renal function on 24-h collection and the 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). Moreover, we compared renal function and blood pressure trends between the groups of JIA patients with different disease activities. Results No statistically significant differences were observed between patients with JIA and healthy children in terms of glomerular filtration rate (GFR), fractional excretion of sodium (FENa), tubular reabsorption of phosphate (TRP), and calcium-creatinine urine ratio (CaU/CrU). In contrast, we observed significantly higher values in JIA patients than in controls for the presence of hematuria (p < 0.0001) and proteinuria (p < 0.0001). Compared to the control group there were significantly higher values of hematuria and proteinuria/day in both groups of JIA patients with low disease activity (respectively, p = 0.0001 and p = 0.0002) and moderate disease activity (respectively p = 0.0001 and p = 0.0012). Systolic and diastolic dipping were significantly reduced in patients with JIA compared with healthy controls (p < 0.0001 and p < 0.0001, respectively). Conclusions Our study showed that children with JIA, already in the early stages of the disease, have higher values of hematuria and proteinuria, which are early warning signs of nephropathy. Therefore, detailed screening of renal function and pressure monitoring in patients are necessary to monitor their evolution over time.

Abstract
Uveitis is a heterogeneous collection of infrequent diseases, which poses significant challenges to cost-effective research in the field. Medical registries are being increasingly recognized as crucial tools to provide high-quality data, thus enabling prospective clinical research. This paper describes the design and technical structure development of an innovative countrywide electronic medical record for uveitis, Uveite.pt, and gives an overview of the cohort registered since its foundation, March 2020.Uveite.pt is an electronic medical record platform developed by the Portuguese Ocular Inflammation Group (POIG), a scientific committee of the Portuguese Ophthalmology Society. This is a nationwide customized web-based platform for uveitis patients useful for both clinical practice and real-world-based research, working as a central repository and reporting tool for uveitis. This paper describes the technical principles, the design and the development of a web-based interoperable registry for uveitis in Portugal and provides an overview of more than 400 patients registered in the first 18 months since inception.In infrequent diseases, the existence of registries enables to gather evidence and increase research possibilities to clinicians. The adoption of this platform enables standardization and improvement of clinical practice in uveitis. It is useful to apprehend the repercussion of medical and surgical treatments in uveitis and scleritis, supporting clinicians in the strict monitoring of drug adverse reactions and surgical outcomes.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Since many biological drug patents have expired, biosimilar agents (BIOs) have been developed; however, there are still some reservations in their use, especially in childhood. The aim of the current study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors BIOs as treatment for pediatric non-infectious uveitis (NIU). METHODS Data from pediatric patients with NIU treated with TNF inhibitors BIOs were drawn from the international AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) registries dedicated to uveitis and Behçet's disease. The effectiveness and safety of BIOs were assessed in terms of frequency of relapses, risk for developing ocular flares, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), glucocorticoids (GCs)-sparing effect, drug survival, frequency of ocular complications, and adverse drug event (AE). RESULTS Forty-seven patients (77 affected eyes) were enrolled. The BIOs employed were adalimumab (ADA) (89.4%), etanercept (ETA) (5.3%), and infliximab (IFX) (5.3%). The number of relapses 12 months prior to BIOs and at last follow-up was 282.14 and 52.43 per 100 patients/year. The relative risk of developing ocular flares before BIOs introduction compared to the period following the start of BIOs was 4.49 (95% confidence interval [CI] 3.38-5.98, p = 0.004). The number needed to treat (NNT) for ocular flares was 3.53. Median BCVA was maintained during the whole BIOs treatment (p = 0.92). A significant GCs-sparing effect was observed throughout the treatment period (p = 0.002). The estimated drug retention rate (DRR) at 12-, 24-, and 36-month follow-up were 92.7, 83.3, and 70.8%, respectively. The risk rate for developing structural ocular complications was 89.9/100 patients/year before starting BIOs and 12.7/100 patients/year during BIOs treatment, with a risk ratio of new ocular complications without BIOs of 7.1 (CI 3.4-14.9, p = 0.0003). Three minor AEs were reported. CONCLUSIONS TNF inhibitors BIOs are effective in reducing the number of ocular uveitis relapses, preserving visual acuity, allowing a significant GCs-sparing effect, and preventing structural ocular complications. Abstract
INTRODUCTION This study aims to explore awareness, knowledge, and diagnostic/therapeutic practices in monogenic uveitis (mU) among uveitis experts. METHODS This is an explorative, cross-sectional survey study. An anonymous, semi-structured, electronic survey was delivered to uveitis experts from the Autoinflammatory Diseases Alliance (AIDA) Network and International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG). We included respondents answering ≥ 50% of the survey. RESULTS Seventy-seven participants rated their knowledge of mU as proficient (3.9%), adequate (15.6%), sufficient (16.9%), or poor (63.6%). When asked about the first mU gene they thought of, 60.4% mentioned NOD2, 3.9% mentioned NLRP3 or MEFV, and 49.4% provided incorrect or no answers. Success rates in clinical scenarios varied from 15.6% to 55.8% and were higher for ophthalmologists working in multidisciplinary teams (p < 0.01). Genetic testing was ordered for suspected mU by 41.6% of physicians. The availability of molecular techniques did not significantly differ based on geography (p > 0.05). The public healthcare system ensured a higher percentage of tests prescribed were obtained by patients compared to private insurances (p < 0.00). In terms of disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), tumor necrosis factor-α inhibitors were the most familiar to uveitis experts. The difficulties with off-label therapy procedures were the primary barrier to DMARDs prescription for patients with mU and correlated inversely with the obtained/prescribed drug ratio for interleukin-1 (p < 0.01) and interleukin-6 (p < 0.01) inhibitors. CONCLUSIONS This survey identifies proficiency areas, gaps, and opportunities for targeted improvements in patients care. The comprehensive outputs may inform evidence-based guidelines, empowering clinicians with standardized approaches, and drive an AIDA Network-IUSG unified effort to advance scientific knowledge and clinical practice.

Abstract
Data on eye diseases in rheumatic patients are limited. The aim of this study was to retrospectively assess the prevalence of ophthalmologic diseases in patients at a rheumatology outpatient clinic who also visited the ophthalmologic clinic. For this retrospective observational cohort study, a chart review was performed according to the STROBE guidelines. In this cohort, an ophthalmologic diagnosis was made in 26.9% of the 1529 rheumatic outpatients, whereas from a rheumatologic perspective, inflammatory non-infectious diagnoses dominated, at 71.7%. From an ophthalmologic perspective, diagnoses without inflammatory pathophysiologic backgrounds dominated, at 54.9%. Inflammatory non-infectious ophthalmologic disease was diagnosed in 24.2% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 29.3% of patients with peripheral spondyloarthritis. Not a single rheumatoid arthritis patient was diagnosed with anterior uveitis; however, 16.5% of spondyloarthritis patients were diagnosed with anterior uveitis (p < 0.001). The prevalence of uveitis was 16.3% in axial and 20.1% in peripheral spondyloarthritis. In conclusion, an interdisciplinary rheumatologic-ophthalmologic setting appears justified to further improve the management of patients with rheumatic diseases.

Abstract
PURPOSE Clinical registries are increasingly important in research and clinical advancement. This review explores and compares current uveitis registries and recommends future directions on how uveitis registries can complement one another for synergistic effect and benefit. METHODS From a systematic search, 861 citations were screened for longitudinal, non-interventional, and multicenter uveitis-specific registries. Additional registries were identified via consultations with uveitis experts. Characteristics of all registries were analyzed and compared. RESULTS Four registries were identified: Treatment Exit Options for Non-infectious Uveitis, AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance International Registry, Ocular Autoimmune Systemic Inflammatory Infectious Study, and Fight Uveitis Blindness!. Despite certain differences, these registries have the overarching goal of collecting large quantities of real-world, high-quality patient data to improve the understanding of uveitis. CONCLUSION The four uveitis registries share similar goals and collect clinical data from overlapping geographical regions. There is vast potential for collaboration, including data sharing to further augment datasets for analysis.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Scientific evidence of the effectiveness of the tumor necrosis factor inhibitor adalimumab (ADA) in pediatric patients with non-infectious non-anterior uveitis is still limited. The aim of this study is to investigate the therapeutic role of ADA in a cohort of pediatric patients with non-anterior uveitis. METHODS This is an international multicenter study analyzing real-life data referred to pediatric patients treated with ADA for intermediate uveitis/pars planitis, posterior uveitis and panuveitis. Data were drawn from the AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) registry for patients with uveitis. RESULTS Twenty-one patients (36 affected eyes) were enrolled, and all patients benefited from ADA administration. In detail, 11 patients (19 affected eyes) did not experience further ocular inflammation after ADA introduction; 10 cases (17 affected eyes) showed a significant clinical improvement consisting of a decrease in severity and/or frequency of ocular relapses. The number of ocular flares dropped from 3.91 to 1.1 events/patient/year after ADA introduction (p = 0.0009); macular edema and retinal vasculitis were respectively observed in 18 eyes and 20 eyes at the start of ADA and in 4 eyes and 2 eyes at the last assessment. The mean daily glucocorticoid dosage significantly decreased from 26.8 ± 16.8 mg/day at the start of ADA to 6.25 ± 6.35 mg/day at the last assessment (p = 0.002). Intermediate uveitis/pars planitis (p = 0.01) and posterior uveitis (p = 0.03) were more frequently observed in patients with full response to ADA; panuveitis (p = 0.001) was significantly more frequent among patients continuing to experience uveitic flares. This could be related to a higher use of systemic glucocorticoids (p = 0.002) and conventional immunosuppressants (p = 0.007) at the start of ADA when treating intermediate uveitis/pars planitis. Regarding the safety profile, only one adverse event was reported during ADA treatment, consisting of the development of generalized adenopathy. CONCLUSIONS ADA proved to have an effective therapeutic role in all pediatric patients with non-anterior uveitis enrolled in the study. An overall glucocorticoid-sparing effect was observed despite the severity of cases enrolled. A more aggressive treatment of panuveitis and posterior uveitis at start of ADA could increase the likelihood of full response to therapy.

Abstract
Non-infectious uveitis (NIU) can be an early or even the first extra-articular manifestation of systemic rheumatic diseases, or the first one; thus, rheumatologists are often involved in the diagnostic and therapeutic assessment of NIU. We evaluated 130 patients with a diagnosis of NIU who were admitted to two Italian rheumatologic clinics (Tor Vergata University Hospital in Rome, and Federico II University in Naples) from January 2018 to December 2021. Anterior uveitis (AU) occurred in 75.4% of patients, followed by posterior uveitis (PU, 21.5%); acute (54.6%) and recurrent (35.4%) NIU were more documented than chronic NIU (10%), and a bilateral involvement was observed in 38.7% of cases. Half of NIU cases were associated with spondyloarthritis (SpA); the remaining were affected by Behçet disease (BD)-related uveitis (13.9%) and idiopathic NIU (9.2%). HLA-B27+ patients (34.8%) had a higher prevalence of anterior and unilateral NIU (p = 0.005) with acute course (p = 0.04) than HLA-B27- patients. On the contrary, HLA-B51+ patients (19.6%) had mostly PU and bilateral NIU (p < 0.0001) and recurrent course (p = 0.04) than HLA-B51- patients. At the first rheumatologic referral, 117 patients (90%) received systemic treatments. Findings from this study demonstrate that rheumatologic referral has a pivotal role in the diagnostic work-up of NIU and may dramatically influence NIU-treatment strategies.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Behçet's disease (BD) associated uveitis occurs in approximately 50-70% of the patients. Ocular involvement in BD may induce a severe affection of visual function, leading to a considerable decrease in patients' quality of life. The risk for severe visual loss increases when the ocular posterior segment is involved and in patients with no adequate treatment. AREAS COVERED Monoclonal tumor necrosis factor (TNF) biotechnological inhibitors represent a relatively recent milestone for the treatment of non-infectious uveitis (NIU) also in BD patients. In addition to TNF inhibitors, further biologic agents have been increasingly proposed for multi-recalcitrant cases, as for interleukin (IL)-1 and IL-6 inhibitors. However, evidence on these new opportunities requires to be widened in the next future. EXPERT OPINION Joining the forces for scientific efforts is essential to quickly obtain solid acquisitions useful for the everyday clinical practice. To this end, the Auto-Inflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) Network has recently supported the development of an international registry dedicated to NIU and other inflammatory ocular involvement observed in BD patients. This will be essential to resolve current and future unmet needs burdening the everyday clinical practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The present manuscript aims to describe an international, electronic-based, user-friendly and interoperable patient registry for monogenic autoinflammatory diseases (mAIDs), developed in the contest of the Autoinflammatory Diseases Alliance (AIDA) Network. METHODS This is an electronic platform, based on the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) tool, used for real-world data collection of demographics, clinical, laboratory, instrumental and socioeconomic data of mAIDs patients. The instrument has flexibility, may change over time based on new scientific acquisitions, and communicate potentially with other similar registries; security, data quality and data governance are corner stones of the platform. RESULTS AIDA project will share knowledge and expertise on mAIDs. Since its start, 118 centers from 24 countries and 4 continents have joined the AIDA project. Fifty-nine centers have already obtained the approval from their local Ethics Committees. Currently, the platform counts 337 users (122 Principal Investigators, 210 Site Investigators, 2 Lead Investigators, and 3 data managers). The Registry collects baseline and follow-up data using 3,748 fields organized into 21 instruments, which include demographics, patient history, symptoms, trigger/risk factors, therapies, and healthcare information for mAIDs patients. CONCLUSIONS The AIDA mAIDs Registry, acts both as a research tool for future collaborative real-life studies on mAIDs and as a service to connect all the figures called to participate. On this basis, the registry is expected to play a pivotal role in generating new scientific evidence on this group of rare diseases, substantially improving the management of patients, and optimizing the impact on the healthcare system. Abstract
OBJECTIVE Aim of this paper is to illustrate the methodology, design, and development of the AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) International Registry dedicated to patients with the Periodic Fever, Aphthous stomatitis, Pharyngitis, and cervical Adenitis (PFAPA) syndrome. METHODS This is a physician-driven, non-population- and electronic-based registry proposed to gather real-world demographics, clinical, laboratory, instrumental and socioeconomic data from PFAPA patients. Data recruitment is realized through the on-line Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) tool. This registry is thought to collect standardized information for clinical research leading to solid real-life evidence. The international scope and the flexibility of the registry will facilitate the realization of cutting-edge study projects through the constant updating of variables and the possible merging and transfer of data between current and future PFAPA registries. RESULTS A total of 112 centers have already been involved from 23 countries and 4 continents starting from August 24th, 2021, to April 6th, 2022. In total 56/112 have already obtained the formal approval from their local Ethics Committees. The platform counts 321 users (113 principal investigators, 203 site investigators, two lead investigators, and three data managers). The registry collects retrospective and prospective data using 3,856 fields organized into 25 instruments, including PFAPA patient's demographics, medical histories, symptoms, triggers/risk factors, therapies, and impact on the healthcare systems. CONCLUSIONS The development of the AIDA International Registry for PFAPA patients will enable the on-line collection of standardized data prompting real-life studies through the connection of worldwide groups of physicians and researchers. METHODS This is a clinical physician-driven, population- and electronic-based registry implemented for the retrospective and prospective collection of real-life data from patients with Schnitzler's syndrome; the registry is based on the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) tool, which is designed to collect standardized information for clinical research, and has been realized to change over time according to future scientific acquisitions and potentially communicate with other existing or future similar registries. RESULTS Since its launch, 113 centers from 23 countries in 4 continents have been involved. Fifty-seven have already obtained the approval from their local Ethics Committees. The platform counts 324 users (114 Principal Investigators, 205 Site Investigators, 2 Lead Investigators, and 3 data managers) at current (April 28th, 2022). The registry collects baseline and follow-up data using 3,924 fields organized into 25 instruments, including patient's demographics, history, clinical manifestations and symptoms, trigger/risk factors, laboratory, instrumental exams, therapies, socioeconomic information, and healthcare access. CONCLUSIONS This International Registry for patients with Schnitzler's syndrome facilitates standardized data collection, enabling international collaborative projects through data sharing and dissemination of knowledge; in turn, it will shed light into many blind spots characterizing this complex autoinflammatory disorder.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this paper is to present the AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) international Registry dedicated to Vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X-linked, Autoinflammatory, Somatic (VEXAS) syndrome, describing its design, construction, and modalities of dissemination. METHODS This Registry is a clinical, physician-driven, population- and electronic-based instrument designed for the retrospective and prospective collection of real-life data. Data gathering is based on the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) tool and is intended to obtain real-world evidence for daily patients' management. The Registry may potentially communicate with other on-line tools dedicated to VEXAS syndrome, thus enhancing international collaboration and data sharing for research purposes. The Registry is practical enough to be easily modified to meet future needs regarding VEXAS syndrome. RESULTS To date (April 22nd, 2022), 113 Centers from 23 Countries in 4 continents have been involved; 324 users (114 Principal Investigators, 205 Site Investigators, 2 Lead Investigators, and 3 data managers) are currently able to access the registry for data entry (or data sharing) and collection. The Registry includes 4,952 fields organized into 18 instruments designed to fully describe patient's details about demographics, clinical manifestations, symptoms, histologic details about skin and bone marrow biopsies and aspirate, laboratory features, complications, comorbidities, therapies, and healthcare access. CONCLUSION This international Registry for patients with VEXAS syndrome will allow the achievement of a comprehensive knowledge about this new disease, with the final goal to obtain real-world evidence for daily clinical practice, especially in relation to the comprehension of this disease about the natural history and the possible therapeutic approaches. Abstract
OBJECTIVE This paper points out the design, development and deployment of the AutoInflammatory Disease Alliance (AIDA) International Registry dedicated to pediatric and adult patients affected by Undifferentiated Systemic AutoInflammatory Diseases (USAIDs). METHODS This is an electronic registry employed for real-world data collection about demographics, clinical, laboratory, instrumental and socioeconomic data of USAIDs patients. Data recruitment, based on the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) tool, is designed to obtain standardized information for real-life research. The instrument is endowed with flexibility, and it could change over time according to the scientific acquisitions and potentially communicate with other similar tools; this platform ensures security, data quality and data governance. RESULTS The focus of the AIDA project is connecting physicians and researchers from all over the world to shed a new light on heterogeneous rare diseases. Since its birth, 110 centers from 23 countries and 4 continents have joined the AIDA project. Fifty-four centers have already obtained the approval from their local Ethics Committees. Currently, the platform counts 290 users (111 Principal Investigators, 179 Site Investigators, 2 Lead Investigators, and 2 data managers). The Registry is collecting baseline and follow-up data using 3,769 fields organized into 23 instruments, which include demographics, history, symptoms, trigger/risk factors, therapies, and healthcare information access for USAIDs patients. CONCLUSIONS The development of the AIDA International Registry for USAIDs patients will facilitate the online collection of real standardized data, connecting a worldwide group of researchers: the Registry constitutes an international multicentre observational groundwork aimed at increasing the patient cohort of USAIDs in order to improve our knowledge of this peculiar cluster of autoinflammatory diseases.
