Abstract
In the current work, the MWCNTs/ZnO nanocomposite was successfully synthesized using simple method. Then, FE-SEM, XRD, and EDX techniques were applied for morphological and structural characterization. Afterward, a sensitive voltammetric sensor based on modification of a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) using MWCNTs/ZnO nanocomposite was developed for the determination of doxorubicin in the presence of dacarbazine. To evaluate the electrochemical response of the MWCNTs/ZnO/SPCE towards doxorubicin, cyclic voltammetry (CV) was applied. The MWCNTs/ZnO nanocomposite showed a significant synergistic effect on the electrochemical response of the electrode for the redox reaction of doxorubicin. Also, the MWCNTs/ZnO/SPCE demonstrated an enhanced sensing platform for the quantification of doxorubicin, obtaining a detection limit (LOD) of 0.002 µM and a sensitivity of 0.0897 µA/µM, as determined by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) within a linear range from 0.007 to 150.0 µM. Also, the MWCNTs/ZnO nanocomposite-modified SPCE showed high electrochemical activities towards the oxidation of doxorubicin and dacarbazine with peak-potential separation of 345 mV, which is sufficient for doxorubicin determination in the presence of dacarbazine. Also, the MWCNTs/ZnO nanocomposite-modified SPCE presented reproducible and stable responses to determine doxorubicin. Finally, the developed platform demonstrated a successful performance for doxorubicin and dacarbazine determination in real samples, with recovery in the range of 97.1% to 104.0% and relative standard deviation (RSD) from 1.8% to 3.5%.

Abstract
Hydrochlorothiazide is an extremely important diuretic that regulates body functions, which can prevent several diseases. However, the abuse of this diuretic is concerning since it does not require a medical prescription, particularly for aesthetic purposes such as weight loss, which can lead to various health problems, including ventricular arrhythmia. The present work aims to use a glassy carbon electrode modified with Super P carbon black (SPCB/GCE) to quantify hydrochlorothiazide through Linear Sweep Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetry (LSAdSV). The modification of the GCE with SPCB significantly improved the response of hydrochlorothiazide. Furthermore, due to the adsorptive nature of charge transport, applying preconcentration time enhanced sensitivity. The optimized system provided a linear range of 0.5 to 30.0 μmol L-1 with a detection limit of 0.083 μmol L-1. Pharmaceutical tablet analyses indicated approximately 25 mg per tablet, which was confirmed by the UV-vis and in agreement with that indicated by the manufacturer. Furthermore, analyses of the tea, synthetic urine, tap water and lake water samples indicated recovery values close to 100%, demonstrating that there was no matrix effect. Therefore, it is possible to infer that the proposed method together with the sensor modified with carbon black nanoparticles presented excellent results, demonstrating that it can be an alternative method of monitoring this drug in different samples.

Abstract
Resulted from the severe side effects, the development of inexpensive, simple and sensitive method for amethopterin (ATP, an antineoplastic drug) is very important but it still remains a challenge. In this work, low cost nanohybrid composed of carbon nanobowl (CNB) and β-cyclodextrins (β-CD) (CNB-CD) was prepared with a simple autopolymerization way and applied as electrode material to develop a novel electrochemical sensor of ATP. Scanning-/transmission-electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrum, photographic image and electrochemical technologies were utilized to characterize morphologies and structure of the as-prepared CNB and CNB-CD materials. On the basic of the coordination advantages from CNB (prominent electrical property and surface area) and β-CD (superior molecule-recognition and solubility capabilities), the CNB-CD nanohybrid modified electrode exhibits superior sensing performances toward ATP, and a low detection limit of 0.002 μM coupled with larger linearity of 0.005-12.0 μM are obtained. In addition, the as-prepared sensor offers desirable repeatability, stability, selectivity and practical application property, confirming that this proposal may have important applications in the determination of ATP.

Investigation of TiO 2/PPy nanocomposite for photocatalytic applications; synthesis, characterization, and combination with various substrates: a review. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND POLLUTION RESEARCH INTERNATIONAL 2024; 31:42521-42546. Abstract
The use of photocatalysis technology, specifically visible light photocatalysis that relies on sustainable solar energy, is the most promising for the degradation of contaminants. The interaction of conducting polymer and titanium dioxide (TiO2) leads to the exchange that enhances the alteration of the semiconductor's surface and subsequently decreases the bandgap energy. Polypyrrole (PPy) and TiO2 nanocomposites have promising potential for photocatalytic degradation. Chemically and electrochemical polymerization are two predominant methods for adding inorganic nanoparticles to a conducting polymer host matrix. The most commonly utilized method for producing PPy/TiO2 nanocomposites is the in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization technique. Immobilizing PPy/TiO2 on substrates causes more charge carriers (electron/hole pairs) to be produced on the surface of TiO2 and enhances the rate of photocatalytic degradation compared to pure TiO2. The increased surface charge affects how electron/hole pairs are formed when visible light is used. This study provides a comprehensive investigation into the synthesis, characterization, application, efficiency, and mechanism of PPy/TiO2 nanocomposites in the photocatalytic degradation process of various pollutants. Furthermore, the effect of stabilizing the TiO2/PPy nanocomposite on various substrates will be investigated. In conclusion, the review outlines the ongoing challenges in utilizing these photocatalysts and highlights the essential concerns that require attention in future research. Its objective is to help researchers better understand photocatalysts and encourage their use in wastewater treatment.

Abstract
Penicillin antibiotics (PENs) play an important role in killing pathogenic bacteria. However, the residues of various penicillin antibiotics in milk gradually accumulate in the human body with the increase of milk intake, which causes direct harm to the human body. Aptamers can be used as recognition element of sensors. It is great significance to use broad-spectrum aptamers for simultaneous detection of PENs. In this study, we reported the screening and identification of DNA aptamers for PENs. The aptamers were screened by graphene oxide-systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (GO-SELEX). The broad-spectrum aptamers with high affinity and specificity were successfully obtained after 13 rounds of screening. The affinity and specificity of candidate aptamers were analyzed by a GO fluorescence competition method. Further sequence analysis revealed that a truncated 47 nt aptamer (P-11-1) had a higher affinity than the original 79 nt aptamer. The truncated aptamer P-11-1 was used as a recognition element, and an electrochemical aptasensor was prepared using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) combined with ferroferric oxide-multi walled carbon nanotube (Fe3O4-MWCNTs) complex. The results showed that the developed aptasensor achieved the simultaneous detection of PENs in milk samples across a concentration range of 2 nM-10,000 nM, achieving a limit of detection of 0.667 nM. This methodology provided a simple and sensitive new thinking for antibiotic multi-residue detection.

Abstract
Artificial solid-state nanochannels have aroused intense interests in biosensors and bioelectronics because of their special architectures. Herein, we pioneered an ingenious approach of target-triggered cascade signal amplification in porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) nanochannels for ultrasensitive photoelectrochemical (PEC) DNA bioanalysis. In the design, AAO nanochannels were modified initially with capture DNA (cDNA) and then incorporated with a photoelectrode, yielding the desired architecture of highly ordered nanoarrays on top of the signal transducer. For target DNA (tDNA) probing, exonuclease III (Exo-III) mediated target recycling (ETR) was first activated to generate plenty of output DNA (oDNA) fragments. After oDNA and the conjugate of Au-labeled probe DNA (Au-pDNA) were anchored within the nanochannels via DNA hybridization, in-situ synthesis of Ag shells on tethered Au nanoparticles was conducted. The resulting large-sized Au@Ag core-shell nanostructure within the nanochannels would cause conspicuous blocking effect to hinder the transportation of electrons accessing the photoelectrode. Since the signal inhibition was directly related to tDNA concentration, an innovative nanochannels PEC DNA assay was exploited and qualified for ultrasensitive detection. The anti-interference ability of this platform was also emphasized by the split AAO membrane for biological incubation without participation of the photoelectrode. This featured nanochannels PEC strategy with cascade amplification launched a novel detecting platform for trace levels of DNA, and it could spark more inspiration for a follow-up exploration of other smart nanochannels PEC bioassays.

By modifying electrochemical sensors with a conductive and porous modifier, their sensitivity and selectivity can be improved. Nanomaterials with new and extraordinary properties are a new approach in science and especially in electrochemical sensors. In this study, UiO66-NH2/mesoporous carbon nitride (M - C3N4) composite provides a porous structure for decorated Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) to prepare a potent modifier for carbon paste electrode (CPE). Due to environmental toxicity of methotrexate, its sensitive, fast and, low-cost determination in workplace environments is of great interest. So, the modified CPE was applied as a sensitivity analysis approach for methotrexate in plasma samples. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) were used as techniques to optimize the analysis and measurement of methotrexate. To measure this drug, several effective parameters were optimized and a calibration curve was drawn under optimal conditions. The calibration curve showed a linear range from 0.5 to 150 μM with a detection limit of 0.15 μM for methotrexate. Examining the repeatability of the response of one electrode and multiple electrodes under optimal conditions shows the high precision of the developed method. Finally, this developed method based on UiO66-NH2/M-gC3N4/AuNPs|CPE was used to determine the methotrexate in the plasma sample using the standard addition method.

Abstract
A rapid, simple, and inexpensive spectrofluorimetric sensor has been developed for the simultaneous determination of methotrexate (MTX) and folic acid (FA) based on their interactions with hollow carbon dots (HCDs). Since the use of folic acid to cope with the toxic side effects of MTX in patients is essential, the simultaneous determination of these two compounds has been interesting. The results showed that MTX could quench the fluorescence of HCDs with a dynamic quenching mechanism. The sensor exhibited a linear concentration range of 1.0 × 10-6-1.9 × 10-4 mol L-1 for MTX and 1.5 × 10-5-9.4 × 10-4 mol L-1 for FA and the obtained detection limits for MTX and FA were 1.6 × 10-7 and 5.0 × 10-7 mol L-1, respectively. The applicability of the method was investigated in the analysis of the urine samples and the partial least squares (PLS) method was used for the simultaneous determination of MTX and FA.

Abstract
Engineering the nanostructure of an electrocatalyst is crucial in developing a high-performance electrochemical sensor. This work exhibits the hydrothermal followed by annealing synthesis of niobium oxide/niobium carbide/reduced graphene oxide (NbO/NbC/rGO) ternary nanocomposite. The oval-shaped NbO/NbC nanoparticles cover the surface of rGO evenly, and the rGO nanosheets are interlinked to produce a micro-flower-like architecture. The NbO/NbC/rGO nanocomposite-modified electrode is presented here for the first time for the rapid and sensitive electrochemical detection of the anticancer drug methotrexate (MTX). Down-sized NbO/NbC nanoparticles and rGO's high surface area provide many active sites with a rapid electron transfer rate, making them ideal for MTX detection. In comparison to previously reported MTX sensors, the developed drug sensor exhibits a lower oxidation potential and a higher peak current responsiveness. The constructed sensors worked analytically well under optimal conditions, as shown by a low detection limit of 1.6 nM, a broad linear range of 0.1-850 µM, and significant recovery findings (∼98 %, (n = 3)) in real samples analysis. Thus, NbO/NbC/rGO nanocomposite material for high-performance electrochemical applications seems promising.

Abstract
A microminiaturized electrochemical device, BiO@CNW/CFE was fabricated based on the in situ co-electrodeposition of bismuth oxide nanowires (BiNWs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) on the surface of carbon fiber electrode (CFE). The nanostructure of BiNWs could bind MWNTs on the surface of CFE during the precipitation of bismuth at the potential of -1.1 V. The vimineous nanostructure of BiO@CNW improved the surface area and electrochemical activity of the microelectrode. With the low background noise, folic acid (FA) can be detected sensitively by BiO@CNW/CFE based on the electrochemical reduction via the method of square wave voltammetry. The linear range of FA in sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer was achieved in the range of 5.00 nM-200 nM, the detection limit was estimated to be 0.63 nM. The recoveries of FA in human serum and artificial cerebral spinal fluid were between 99% and 103%, which indicates BiO@CNW/CFE was a reliable sensor for the detection of FA in biological samples.

Abstract
This paper reports a voltammetric sensor based on copper oxide nanoparticles on nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite (N-rGO/CuO)-ionic liquid modified carbon paste electrode (N-rGO/CuO-ILCPE) for determining the hydroquinone (HQ). The N-rGO/CuO was prepared by a facile protocol, followed by characterization via fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) patterns, field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The electrochemical behaviour was linearly symmetrical to various hydroquinone levels (1.0-600.0 μM) with a narrow limit of detection (LOD = 0.25 μM). The diffusion coefficient was also estimated to be 4.1 × 10-6 cm2/s. The N-rGO/CuO-ILCPE was impressively applicable in determination of hydroquinone in the real specimens.

Abstract
Folic acid (FA) is essential for human health, particularly for pregnant women and infants. In this work, a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified by a bimetallic layer of Cu/Co nanoparticles (CuNPs/CoNPs) as a synergistic amplification element by simple step-by-step electrodeposition, and was used for sensitive detection of FA. The proposed CuNPs/CoNPs/GCE sensor was characterized by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). Then, under optimal conditions, a linear relationship was obtained in the wide range of 110.00-1750.00 μM for the detection of FA with a limit of detection (LOD) of 34.79 μM (S/N = 3). The sensitivity was calculated as 0.096 μA μM-1 cm-2. Some interfering compounds including glucose (Glc), biotin, dopamine (DA), and glutamic acid (Glu) showed little effect on the detection of FA by amperometry (i-t). Finally, the average recovery obtained was in a range of 91.77-110.06%, with a relative standard deviation (RSD) less than 8.00% in FA tablets, indicating that the proposed sensor can accurately and effectively detect the FA content in FA tablets.

Abstract
In this work, we develop an electrochemical sensor using a polypyrrole nanotubes-modified graphite screen-printed electrode (PPy NTs/GSPE) for sensing hydroxylamine. The PPy NTs/GSPE-supported sensor has an appreciable electrocatalytic performance and great stability for hydroxylamine oxidation. Compared to a bare graphite screen-printed electrode, we demonstrate that using the PPy NTs/GSPE leads to a significant reduction in the oxidation potential of hydroxylamine. The standard curve shows a linear relationship ranging from 0.005 to 290.0 μM (R2 = 0.9998), with a high sensitivity (0.1349 μA/μM) and a narrow limit of detection (LOD) of 0.001 μM. In addition, the PPy NTs/GSPE has satisfactory outcomes for hydroxylamine detection in real specimens.

Abstract
The present research presents synthesis and substantial utilization of a nanocomposite of reduced graphene oxide/polypyrrole nanotubes to modify graphite screen printed electrode (rGO/PPy NTs-GSPE) for detection of sulfite. The nanocomposite preparation was done by hydrothermal protocol, followed by characterization by energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) and field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Electrocatalytic sensing of sulfite is carried out using differential pulse voltammetric (DPV), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), cyclic voltammetric (CV), and Chronoamperometry. Electrochemical behaviors of modified and unmodified electrodes were explored with CV method. In addition, DPV was employed for anodic peak and quantitatively detecting sulfite. The DPV results unveiled a linear response of the sensor to various sulfite contents (0.04-565.0 μM) with a narrow detection limit (0.01 μM) and admirable sensitivity (0.0483 μA/μΜ). The diffusion coefficient (D) for sulfite using rGO/PPy NTs-GSPE, 9.9 × 10-6 cm 2/s was obtained. The sensor was also successful in the sulfite detection in real specimens.

Abstract
We fabricated a new electrochemical 4-aminophenol sensor based on a nanocomposite of Co3O4nanoparticles and graphite carbon nitride (Co3O4@g-C3N4), used for the modification of a screen-printed electrode (Co3O4@g-C3N4/SPE). The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized using field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction and Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) techniques. The electro-oxidation of 4-aminophenol in phosphate buffer solution (pH = 7.0) was investigated via cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The peak current of oxidation in the optimized conditions had a linear relationship with various 4-aminophenol contents (0.05-780.0μM) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9996 and the limit of detection (S/N = 3) of 1.5 × 10-8M. The developed method was successful to determine 4-aminophenol in real specimens, with acceptable outcomes.

Abstract
The current work introduced a novel electrochemical sensor (screen-printed graphite electrode (SPGE) modified with MnO2 nanorods anchored graphene oxide nanocomposite (MnO2 NRs/GO) for sensitive determination of sunset yellow. The characterization of MnO2 NRs/GO nanocomposite synthesized through a simple hydrothermal approach was determined employing varied analytical equipment like Field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Chronoamperometric measurements, differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) were recruited to recognize the electrochemical oxidation of sunset yellow on the MnO2 NRs/GO/SPGE. The results of CV proved that the as-synthesized MnO2 NRs/GO nanocomposite has a good electrocatalytic activity toward sunset yellow. The MnO2 NRs/GO/SPGE electrode under optimized conditions using the DPV possessed a linear response for different concentrations of sunset yellow (between 0.01 and 115.0 μM) with a low limit of detection (LOD) (0.008 μM). Finally, the impressive applicability of this sensor was confirmed via real sample analysis with excellent recoveries (between 97.3 and 104.6%).

Abstract
The sunset yellow, as a synthetic food coloring azo dye, was detected in the present work using a new sensitive and selective sensor based on the modification of screen-printed electrode surface with Copper ferrite nanoparticles (CuFe2O4/SPE). Thus, a facile hydrothermal protocol was performed to prepare the CuFe2O4 nanoparticles, followed by characterization applying valid techniques, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Chronoamperometry, differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) were employed to determine the electrochemical behavior of as-fabricated sensor. According to the electrochemical findings, a greater anodic peak current was found for the sunset yellow oxidation on the CuFe2O4/SPE than that on the unmodified SPE. The electrocatalytic response for the sunset yellow oxidation on the CuFe2O4/SPE in phosphate buffer (0.1 M, pH = 7.0) was effective, with an excellent sensitivity (0.1919 μA μM-1). There was a linear relationship between the voltammetric current and different sunset yellow concentrations (0.03-100.0 μM). The calculated limit of detection (LOD = 3Sb/m) for the sunset yellow was 0.009 μM.

Amaranth is one of the synthetic azo colorants used to improve the appearance and to increase the appeal of some foods and soft drinks. The excessive consumption of amaranth can be associated with health side effects, emphasizing the need to monitor this food dye. Accordingly, the present study aimed to introduce an electrochemical sensor of glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with N-doped reduced graphene oxide (N-rGO), N-rGO/GCE, to detect the amaranth sensitively and rapidly. Several electrochemical techniques such as differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), chronoamperometry (CHA), and cyclic voltammetry (CV) are exploited for the evaluation of the efficiency of the developed electrode for the detection of amaranth. We found that N-rGO/GCE enhanced amaranth oxidation, thus significantly elevating the current signal. Amaranth showed that calibration curves ranged from 0.1 to 600.0 µM, and the limit of detection (LOD) (S/N = 3) was 0.03 μM. Finally, the developed sensor was effectively applied for real samples (tap water, apple juice, and orange juice) with acceptable recovery values from 96.0 to 104.3%.

Abstract
Evaluation of extracellular domain of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2-ECD) oncomarker status is an impressive factor in screening, diagnosing and monitoring early-stage breast cancer (BC). Electrochemical aptamer-based nanobiosensor with high sensitivity and selectivity for quantitative and qualitative measurement of HER2-ECD oncomarker was developed. In this study, the nanocomposite made by distinct materials included reduced graphene oxide nano-sheets (rGONs) and rhodium nanoparticles (Rh-NPs) on the graphite electrode (GE) surface. This structure resulted in amplified electrochemical activity, high surface area, stability, and bio-compatibility. Each of the steps of preparing nanomaterials and setting up biosensor were carefully examined by analytical and electrochemical techniques. Various modified electrodes were constructed and analyzed in terms of electrochemical performance, morphology, size, and shape of nanomaterials. The GE-based aptasensor had a noteworthy and conducive results against HER2-ECD with a wide dynamic range of 10.0-500.0 ng/mL, a low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.667 ng/mL (significantly less than the clinical cut-off), and a low limit of quantification (LOQ) of 2.01 ng/mL. The benefits provided by this aptasensor such as broad dynamic range, high sensitivity, selectivity, stability, reproducibility, and low cost suggest tremendous potential for non-invasive detection and monitoring of the HER2-ECD levels of BC care and clinical diagnosis.

Voltammetric Determination of Isoniazid in the Presence of Acetaminophen Utilizing MoS2-Nanosheet-Modified Screen-Printed Electrode. MICROMACHINES 2022; 13:mi13030369. Abstract
We used MoS2 nanosheets (MoS2 NSs) for surface modification of screen-printed electrode (MoS2NSs-SPE) aimed at detecting isoniazid (INZ) in the presence of acetaminophen (AC). According to analysis, an impressive catalytic performance was found for INZ and AC electro-oxidation, resulting in an appreciable peak resolution (~320 mV) for both analytes. Chronoamperometry, differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), linear sweep voltammogram (LSV), and cyclic voltammetry (CV) were employed to characterize the electrochemical behaviors of the modified electrode for the INZ detection. Under the optimal circumstances, there was a linear relationship between the peak current of oxidation and the various levels of INZ (0.035–390.0 µM), with a narrow limit of detection (10.0 nM). The applicability of the as-developed sensor was confirmed by determining the INZ and AC in tablets and urine specimens, with acceptable recoveries.

Abstract
We developed a novel hydroxylamine sensor through the surface modification of screen-printed electrode (SPE) with NiCo2O4 nanoparticles/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanocomposite (NiCo2O4/RGO/SPE). We assessed the electrochemical response of hydroxylamine on the as-fabricated sensor, confirming the high electrocatalytic impact of hydroxylamine oxidation. The electrode produced sensitively responded to hydroxylamine under optimized conditions, with a low limit of detection (2.0 nM) and broad linear dynamic range (0.007-385.0 µM). The presence of NiCo2O4 combined with the modification of RGO resulted in sensitive detection and signal amplification of hydroxylamine oxidation. The proposed sensor was used to determine the existence of hydroxylamine in water samples.
