Abstract
INTRODUCTION Although anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy was approved as a very effective salvage strategy in relapsed/refractory (R/R) B cell lymphoma, the experience in R/R gastrointestinal (GI) lymphoma is still insufficient. METHODS We summarized the efficacy and side effects of anti-CD19 CAR T-cell therapy in 12 patients with R/R GI lymphoma. Based on literature, the R/R GI lymphoma patients were divided into subgroups with different characteristics: Bulky/No bulky disease, Gastric/Gastrointestinal involvement, Gastrointestinal/Combined extra-gastrointestinal lesions, Ulcer/Lumps or nodules type, With/without gastrointestinal bleeding. RESULTS The objective response rate (ORR) was 66.67% in these 12 patients. The ORR was 83.33% in no bulky disease group, 80.00% in gastric involvement group, 100.00% in ulcer type group, and 80.00% in no gastrointestinal bleeding group. The CR rate was 33.33% in these 12 patients. The CR was 50.0% in no bulky disease group, 60.00% in gastric involvement group, and 80.00% in ulcer type group. The PFS and OS rate of the 12 patients at 6 months after infusion were 54.55% and 58.33%, respectively. The overall survival (OS) at 6 months was higher in no bulky disease group. There was no difference of the OS or the progression free survival (PFS) at 6 months between the other groups. The mean peak of CAR-T cells and Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS) grade were higher in gastrointestinal lesions group. The mean peak of IFN-γ and CRS grade were higher in gastrointestinal bleeding group. Four out of six patients in group of gastrointestinal lesions group were patient with high tumor burden. Patients with gastrointestinal involvement only were at higher risk for gastrointestinal bleeding. CONCLUSIONS The ORR and CR of high tumor load, gastrointestinal involvement, lumps or nodules type and gastrointestinal bleeding group were lower. The CRS grade was higher in gastrointestinal lesions group and in gastrointestinal bleeding group. Patients with gastrointestinal involvement only were at higher risk for gastrointestinal bleeding.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The worldwide incidence of primary small intestinal lymphoma (PSIL) is increasing. However, little is known about the clinical and endoscopic characteristics of this disease. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical and endoscopic data of patients with PSIL, with the goal of enhancing our understanding of the disease, improving diagnostic accuracy, and facilitating more accurate prognosis estimation. METHODS Ninety-four patients diagnosed with PSIL were retrospectively studied at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University between 2012 and 2021. The clinical data, enteroscopy findings, treatment modalities, and survival times were collected and analyzed. RESULTS Ninety-four patients (52 males) with PSIL were included in this study. The median age of onset was 58.5 years (range: 19-80 years). Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (n=37) was the most common pathological type. Abdominal pain (n=59) was the most frequent clinical presentation. The ileocecal region (n=32) was the most commonly affected site, and 11.7% of patients had multiple lesions. At the time of diagnosis, the majority of patients (n=68) were in stages I-II. A new endoscopic classification of PSIL was developed, including hypertrophic type, exophytic type, follicular/polypoid type, ulcerative type, and diffusion type. Surgery did not show a significant increase in overall survival; chemotherapy was the most commonly administered treatment. T-cell lymphoma, stages III-IV, "B" symptoms, and ulcerative type were associated with poor prognosis. CONCLUSION This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the clinical and endoscopic features of PSIL in 94 patients. This highlights the importance of considering clinical and endoscopic characteristics for accurate diagnosis and prognosis estimation during small bowel enteroscopy. Early detection and treatment of PSIL is associated with a favorable prognosis. Our findings also suggest that certain risk factors, such as pathological type, "B" symptoms, and endoscopic type, may affect the survival of PSIL patients. These results underscore the need for careful consideration of these factors in the diagnosis and treatment of PSIL.

Abstract
Background There is little information on diagnosis and management of small bowel lymphomas, and optimal management strategies are still undefined. This study aims to describe their main clinical and pathological characteristics and identify poor prognostic factors. Methods A retrospective observational study of all patients with histological diagnosis of small bowel lymphoma between January 2010 and December 2020 was performed. Results We included 40 patients, with male predominance (60%) and mean age of 60.7 years. The ileum was the most common location, and the most common histological subtypes were follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Clinical presentation was variable from asymptomatic patients (30%) to acute surgical complications (35%) including perforation, intestinal obstruction, ileal intussusception, or severe bleeding. Diagnosis was established by endoscopy in 22 patients (55%), and the most common findings included polyps, single mass, diffuse infiltration, or ulceration, whereas 18 (45%) required surgery because of acute presentations or tumor resection, and lymphoma was diagnosed postoperatively. Surgery was curative in one-third of those patients. Median survival was 52 months. Acute presentation (P = 0.001), symptomatic disease (P = 0.003), advanced stage (P = 0.008), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (P = 0.007), anemia (P = 0.006), hypoalbuminemia (P < 0.001), elevated lactate dehydrogenase (P = 0.02), elevated C-reactive protein (P < 0.001), and absence of treatment response (P < 0.001) were significant predictors of mortality. Conclusion Small bowel lymphoma is a rare malignancy with diverse clinical and endoscopic presentations that require a high index of suspicion. Primary factors associated with worse outcome included acute presentation, advanced stage, histological subtype, biochemical abnormalities, and absence of treatment response.

Abstract
Purpose This study aimed to analyze the clinical features and survival of primary small intestinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PsI-DLBCL), and establish and independently validate a prognostic nomogram for individual risk prediction. Patients and methods Data for 24 patients from the Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University were used as an independent validation cohort, data for 1144 patients with PsI-DLBCL from the SEER database were randomly assigned to training (N=817) and internal validation (N=327) sets. The survival nomogram was constructed with the most significant factors associated with OS using Univariate and multivariate analyses on the training set. Decision curve analysis (DCA) was conducted. Internal validation was SEER validation set. Our cancer center cohort was used as an external validation set to further verify the survival nomogram. Results Five clinicopathological feature factors associated with OS of the training set yielded (age, marital status, Ann Arbor stage, surgery for primary site and chemotherapy), which were used to create a survival nomogram. Additionally, the calibration curves of the prognostic nomogram revealed good agreement between the predicted survival probabilities and the ground truth values. The stability of our survival nomogram was explained by internal and external validation data. Conclusion Our nomogram proposes the clinical and therapeutic factors affecting OS for patients with PsI-DLBCL. It shows that chemotherapy and surgery are beneficial to patients in the choice of treatment options. These results suggest that a survival nomogram may be better at predicting OS for PsI-DLBCL patients.

Abstract
Involvement of the abdomen and pelvis is common in lymphoma. Nodal and extranodal abdominal and pelvic lymphoma may present with various complications. Complications are most common in high-grade lymphomas, especially diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Complications may occur as the initial manifestation of lymphoma, during treatment course, or late following complete disease remission. Most complications are associated with worse prognosis and increased mortality. Imaging is essential in evaluation of disease extent and diagnosis of complications. Therefore, radiologists should be familiar with the clinical context and imaging features of abdominal and pelvic lymphoma complications. We provide a comprehensive, organ system-based approach, and clinical and imaging review of complications of abdominal and pelvic lymphoma along with radiologic images of illustrated cases of the most commonly encountered complications.

Abstract
Primary small bowel lymphomas are a rare entity but with significant morbidity and a low five-year overall survival even after surgery. Its diagnosis is often delayed due to the lack of clear specific signs, unfamiliarity amongst clinicians, and the lack of screening tools. This often results in patients presenting with tumour-associated complications such as perforation, obstruction, or gastrointestinal bleeding which warrant urgent surgical intervention. We present the case of a patient presenting with a perforated small bowel lymphoma resulting in a large interloop extraluminal faecaloma causing subacute small bowel obstruction. He proceeded to have an emergency open right hemicolectomy and extended small bowel resection to facilitate gross resection of tumour which in conjunction with adjuvant systemic chemotherapy is considered current best practice to manage such neoplasms. Early referral to specialist centres and raising awareness of this rare entity will allow earlier recognition and therefore a more planned approach to the management of such pathology with fewer post-operative complications.

Abstract
Background Whether surgery can improve the prognosis of patients with primary pediatric gastrointestinal lymphoma (PPGL) who experienced bowel perforation remains controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the prognosis of such patients. Methods Nine patients pathologically diagnosed with PPGL who experienced perforation at our center between January 2010 and December 2020 were enrolled and divided into two groups: those with perforation during (n = 4) and before (n = 5) chemotherapy. Their medical records were reviewed, and long-term follow-up was conducted by telephone in February 2021. Results All patients with perforation during chemotherapy were diagnosed with PPGL in the outpatient department. The mean time from outpatient visit to chemotherapy was 17.3 ± 6.1 days. Two patients experienced perforation during the first chemotherapy regimen and received conservative treatment, while the others developed perforation after multiple chemotherapy regimens and underwent surgery. All of the patients received regular chemotherapy and survived for a mean follow-up time of 3.8 ± 1.9 years. No patient with perforation before chemotherapy had a definite diagnosis in the outpatient department. Among these patients, 4 experienced perforation and underwent surgery, of whom 3 developed perforation-related complications and died; the other recurred after chemotherapy. Only the patient who received conservative treatment was diagnosed with PPGL before chemotherapy, received regular chemotherapy, and survived without a recurrence for 1.0 year. Conclusion Prompt diagnosis and chemotherapy improve the prognosis of PPGL. Surgery does not affect the prognosis of patients with perforation during chemotherapy but may accelerate disease progression in patients with perforation before chemotherapy.

Abstract
Objective Primary intestinal lymphomas (PILs) are uncommon tumors, but their incidence is increasing. Currently, their management is centered around systemic treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, whereas surgery is restricted to selected indications. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the role of surgery in PIL treatment. Methods We collected publications comparing surgery plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in patients with PIL from 2000 to 2021. All trials analyzed the summary odds ratios (ORs) of endpoints, including the 5-year overall survival (OS), 3-year OS, and 3-year progression-free survival rates. Combined pooled ORs were analyzed using fixed- or random-effects models according to heterogeneity. Results Six studies were included. Compared with chemotherapy alone, surgery plus chemotherapy was associated with significantly higher 5-year OS [OR = 4.88, 95%confidence interval (CI) = 1.91–12.44, Z = 3.32], 3-year OS (OR = 3.83, 95%CI = 2.33–6.30, Z = 5.30), and 3-year progression-free survival (OR = 3.51, 95%CI = 2.20–5.58, Z = 5.29). Conclusions Surgery plus chemotherapy was associated with better outcomes than chemotherapy alone, especially in the early stages. Therefore, surgery plus chemotherapy may be the preferred strategy for appropriately selected patients with PIL. Abstract
RATIONALE Small bowel adenocarcinoma (SBA), an uncommon gastrointestinal malignant tumor, is difficult to diagnose at an early stage because of its non-specific disease presentation. Metachronous SBA is a special type of SBA that is rarely reported. We herein report a case of metachronous primary SBA following resection of rectal adenocarcinoma. PATIENT CONCERNS A 65-year-old man presented to our hospital after having experienced recurrent bowel obstruction for 6 months. He had undergone a Dixon operation 30 months previously followed by adjuvant chemotherapy with capecitabine plus oxaliplatin. DIAGNOSIS Abdominal computed tomography showed thickened bowel walls in the right lower abdomen, and the patient was initially misdiagnosed with intestinal adhesion. After the operation, he was diagnosed with primary SBA (T3N0M0, stage IIA). INTERVENTIONS Treatment with a transnasal ileus tube was ineffective. Therefore, we performed small intestinal segmental resection and side-to-side anastomosis through open surgery. OUTCOMES The patient completed all postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, and posttreatment surveillance revealed no further abnormalities. LESSONS This case suggests that patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma may have an increased risk of metachronous SBA. Corresponding symptoms in high-risk patients should raise clinicians' suspicion for SBA, and further detailed examinations are imperative. Early screening for SBA may help to improve the patients' prognosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The clinical characteristics and prognosis of primary intestinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PI-DLBCL) are rarely reported. We aimed to explore the role of surgery in patients with PI-DLBCL. METHODS Adult PI-DLBCL patients were included from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. The effect of surgery was evaluated by Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportional regression analyses. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to reinforce our results. Lasso regression was utilized to determine independent risk factors of overall survival (OS) for a nomogram and a novel web-based calculator. The performance of the model was measured via concordance index, receiver operating characteristic curve, and calibration plots in both cohorts. RESULTS Overall, 1602 patients with PI-DLBCL were analyzed. Surgery significantly improved survival in both univariate and multivariate analyses (p = 0.007, p < 0.001, respectively). Before PSM, local tumor destruction (LTD) displayed a survival advantage over resection in patients without chemotherapy (p = 0.034). After PSM, surgery was still identified as a beneficial factor for OS (p = 0.0015). However, there was no statistical difference between LTD and resection (p = 0.32). The nomogram for 3-, 5-, and 10-year OS predictions exhibited dependable consistency between internal and external validation. CONCLUSION This study approves the beneficial effect of surgery on clinical endpoints in PI-DLBCL patients. For those who are not suitable for resection, LTD may also be a practical option. The predictive nomogram and the web-based calculator could help clinicians individually evaluate the prognosis and optimize personalized treatment decisions for these patients.

Abstract
Primary gastrointestinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (GI-DLBCL) is the most common gastrointestinal lymphoma, but its genetic features are poorly understood. We performed whole-exome sequencing of 25 primary tumor samples from patients with GI-DLBCL and 23 matched normal tissue samples. Oncogenic mutations were screened, and the correlations between genetic mutations and clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed. Twenty-five patients with GI-DLBCL were enrolled in the genetic mutation analysis with a median of 184 (range 79–382) protein-altering variants per patient. We identified recurrent oncogenic mutations in GI-DLBCL, including those in TP53, MUC16, B2M, CCND3, HIST1H1C, NEB, and ID3. Compared with nodal DLBCL, GI-DLBCL exhibited an increased mutation frequency of TP53 and reduced mutation frequencies of PIM1, CREBBP, BCL2, KMT2D, and EZH2. Moreover, GI-DLBCL exhibited fewer MYD88 and CD79B mutations than DLBCL in the testis and central nervous system. GI-DLBCLs with HLA-B, MEF2A, RHOA, and NAV3 mutations exhibited a tendency toward a high proliferation index. MUC16 and ETV6 mutations often occurred in tumors with early clinical staging. Our data provide a comprehensive understanding of the landscape of mutations in a small subset of GI-DLBCLs. The genetic mutation profiles of GI-DLBCL differ from those of nodal DLBCL and DLBCL in immune-privileged sites. The different mutated genes are related to the NF-κB and JAK-STAT pathways, and the different pathogenetic mechanisms leading to the development of DLBCL may be influenced by the tissue microenvironment. Differences in genetic alterations might influence the clinicopathological characteristics of GI-DLBCL.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Primary small bowel non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a rare disease representing 2% of small intestine malignancies. There is limited data delineating the optimal treatment for these heterogeneous tumors. We aim to examine relationships between different treatment modalities and surgical outcomes in patients with small bowel lymphoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS Patients diagnosed with stage I-III small bowel lymphoma in 2004-2015 who underwent surgery were identified in the National Cancer Database. Two cohorts were created based on systemic chemotherapy treatment status. The primary outcome was overall survival. An adjusted Cox proportional hazards model was used to evaluate the impact of treatment strategy on survival. RESULTS 2283 patients met inclusion criteria Of these patients, 826 patients (36%) underwent surgical resection alone, and 1457 patients (64%) underwent resection with systemic chemotherapy. Chemotherapy was associated with improved overall survival in unadjusted (5-year overall survival, 55% versus 70%) and adjusted analysis (HR 0.54, 95% CI 0.47-0.63, p < 0.001). DISCUSSION Patients with small bowel lymphoma have a low five-year overall survival after surgery. Chemotherapy is associated with improved survival, although one third of patients do not receive this therapy. Several other clinical factors are identified that are also associated with overall survival, including histology subtype, margin status, age, and medical comorbidities. This information can help with prognostication and potentially aid in treatment decision-making.

Abstract
This study aimed to determine a reliable therapeutic biomarker for localized small intestinal lymphoma (SIL) in dogs based on clinical and histopathological features. We retrospectively investigated 84 dogs with localized SIL, including 36 dogs receiving surgery and 48 dogs receiving chemotherapy. The dogs receiving surgery were divided into two subgroups: 18 dogs (group 1) with overall survival (OS) <120 days (median OS) and 18 dogs (group 2) with OS ≥120 days. Correspondingly, the dogs receiving chemotherapy were divided into 24 dogs (group 3) with OS <98 days (median OS) and 24 dogs (group 4) with OS ≥98 days. Clinical, haematological, histopathological and immunohistochemical analyses were comparatively evaluated among the four subgroups. There was no significant difference in OS between the surgery and chemotherapy groups. In dogs receiving surgery, the rate of Ki67-positive cells was significantly increased in group 1 compared to group 2 and showed no significant difference between groups 3 and 4. In dogs receiving chemotherapy, the rate of O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) was significantly higher in group 3 than in group 4 and showed no significant difference between groups 1 and 2. Additionally, our data showed that OS in dogs with higher Ki67 expression might be significantly increased by chemotherapy than by surgery, that of those with higher MGMT expression might be significantly increased by surgery than by chemotherapy, and Ki67 and MGMT were independent of each other. Indices of Ki67 and MGMT are suggested therapeutic biomarkers to determine the optimal first-line treatment for localized SIL in dogs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T cell lymphoma (MEITL) is a rare extra-nodal T-cell lymphoma that has uniformly aggressive features with a poor prognosis. No standardized treatment protocols have been established. Previous experience has demonstrated favorable outcomes with combination chemotherapy followed by autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant. However, many patients are unable to tolerate the toxicities. Chidamide is a new histone deacetylase inhibitor that has shown preferential efficacy in mature T-cell lymphoma.
CASE SUMMARY We herein present two cases of MEITL who were both intermediate risk according to enteropathy-associated T cell lymphoma prognostic index. Case one was a 61-year-old man. He complained of upper abdominal pain and intermittent black stool for 2 mo. Imaging examination revealed that the intestinal wall was thickened. He received a partial excision of the small intestine. A chidamide-based combination regimen was given postoperatively. Eleven months later, he presented with recurrence in the bilateral lungs. He passed away 15 mo after his diagnosis. Case two was a 35-year-old woman who complained of abdominal distention for 1 mo. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography demonstrated wall thickening of the small intestine and upper sigmoid colon. Colon perforation and septic shock occurred on the fourth day of her admission. She was treated by sigmoid colostomy. Chidamide-based combination therapy was then provided. She was recurrence-free for 6 mo until lesions were found in the bilateral brain and lived for 17 mo since her diagnosis. Compared to historical data, chidamide seems to improve the prognosis of MEITL slightly.
CONCLUSION MEITL is a type of aggressive lymphoma. Chidamide is a new promising approach for the treatment of MEITL.

Abstract
This study examines survival time in patients with small bowel tumors and determines its contributing factors. In this retrospective analytical study, the medical records of 106 patients with small bowel cancer (from 2006 to 2011) were investigated. The patients' data were extracted, including age, gender, clinical presentation, location of tumor, histological type, grade of tumor, site of metastasis, and type of treatment. The Kaplan-Meier test was used to estimate the overall survival time and the Log-rank test to compare the survival curves. The Cox regression was also used to evaluate the effect of the confounding variables on survival time. This study was conducted on 106 patients with a median age of 60 years (Min: 7, Max: 87). The tumor types included adenocarcinoma (n=78, 73.6%), MALToma (n=22, 20.8%), neuroendocrine tumors (n=4, 3.8%), and sarcoma (n=2. 1.8%). Grade 3 adenocarcinomas had a significantly lower survival time (HR: 1.48, 95% CI: 0.46-2.86; P=.001). Combined therapy (chemotherapy and surgery) vs. single-therapy (only surgery) had no significant effects on the survival of the patients with MALToma (5 vs. 3 months, 95% CI: 1.89-5.26; P=.06). There were no significant differences between the survival time in adenocarcinoma and MALToma (12 vs. 20 months, 95% CI: 6.24-24.76; P=.49). Tumor grade was the only independent prognostic factor that affected survival in adenocarcinoma. The patients diagnosed with MALToma in the study also had a poor prognosis, and the type of treatment had no significant effect on their survival.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM The predictors of severe gastrointestinal (GI) events in GI lymphoma patients are unclear. We aimed to develop a risk scoring system for GI events requiring surgery. METHODS In this retrospective study of 192 patients with GI lymphoma, the state of lymphoma, macroscopic findings, examination results, and International Prognostic Index were assessed. We developed a risk score for GI events that required surgery and assessed its accuracy by calculating the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). Internal validation was performed using bootstrap resampling. RESULTS Severe GI events occurred in 21 (11%) patients. We developed a 4-point scoring system (the FLASH score) comprising the following three independent predictors (weighted by regression coefficients): (i) focal appearance and large size (≥ 40 mm), 1 point; (ii) aggressive lymphoma of the small bowel, 2 points; and (iii) high (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography uptake, 1 point. The score predicted severe GI events with an AUC value of 0.91 (internal validation; AUC, 0.86). Risk was classified into three categories: the GI event rate was 0% in the low-risk group (0 points), 9% in the intermediate-risk group (1-2 points), and 61% in the high-risk group (3-4 points) (AUC, 0.89). CONCLUSIONS We developed and internally validated a risk scoring system (the FLASH score) that included macroscopic findings to predict severe GI events in GI lymphoma patients. Patients with high scores are candidates for elective surgery to prevent GI events.

Abstract
With the exception of intestinal lymphoma, surgery is the most commonly recommended treatment for solitary feline intestinal tumours. However, there is a lack of evidence to substantiate resection margin recommendations for these tumours. The aim of this study was to add knowledge concerning resection margins for discrete intestinal masses in cats. Thirty confirmed feline intestinal tumours removed at veterinary centres across the UK from March 2017 to March 2018 underwent histological assessment at the palpable edge of the intestinal tumour and then at every 1 cm increment to the surgeon‐cut tissue border in oral, aboral and mesenteric directions. Histological margin recommendations were developed for carcinoma and lymphoma tumour types and non‐lymphoma intestinal tumours collectively. Seventeen intestinal lymphomas, nine carcinomas, two sarcomas and two mast cell tumours were evaluated in this study. Seven of the nine intestinal carcinomas would have been completely removed with histological margins of 4 cm in oral and aboral directions. Both sarcomas and one mast cell tumour would have been removed in their entirety with 4 cm histological margins in oral and aboral directions. There was extensive and varied microscopic invasion of intestinal tissue away from discrete intestinal lymphomas in the majority of the cases in this study. There is increasing evidence in veterinary as well as human literature supporting the role of surgical resection in the treatment of discrete intestinal lymphoma. If surgery is to be considered this study supports the removal of the gross tumour only. A histological margin of 4 cm should be considered, where possible, for intestinal masses other than lymphomas.

Abstract
There is currently a lack of evidence‐based guidance when determining surgical margins for small intestinal tumours in dogs. The purpose of this study is to help the surgeon make informed clinical decisions about margins when confronted with a small intestinal mass. Twenty‐seven canine small intestinal tumours were histologically diagnosed and then had further histological assessment at every centimeter from the edge of the palpable tumour to the surgical margin in oral, aboral and mesenteric directions. In all 10 carcinomas a 3 cm tissue margin in oral, aboral and mesenteric directions would have resulted in complete tumour resection. In all 11 sarcomas a 2 cm tissue margin in oral, aboral and mesenteric directions would have resulted in complete tumour resection. Five of the six intestinal lymphomas would have required tissue margins of 4 cm or more for complete resection. Of the 21 non‐lymphoma tumours assessed in this study, complete resection was achieved in all 21 (100%) with tissue margins at 3 cm from the palpable edge of the mass, 20 (95%) with tissue margins at 2 cm from the palpable edge of the mass, and 16 (76%) with tissue margins at 1 cm from the palpable edge of the mass in oral and aboral directions. All non‐lymphoma canine small intestinal masses will be completely resected when tissue margins are 3 cm from the palpable edge of the mass in oral and aboral directions after fixation in formalin.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Diagnosing lymphoma continues to prove challenging in the clinical practice. Composite lymphoma (CL) is defined by the coexistence of different lymphoma subtypes in the same anatomical location. This condition has seldom been witnessed in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. We weren't able to find previous cases in the literature about small bowel CL with follicular lymphoma (FL) and classical Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL). Surgery is the treatment of choice to obtain accurate histology, to manage and prevent acute complications. We state that this work has been reported in line with the SCARE criteria. CASE PRESENTATION We describe an extremely rare case of small bowel CL, presenting as an intestinal bulky mass with circumferential infiltration of bowel loops. The small bowel tumor was incidentally detected by abdominal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in a 64-year-old man who suffered from rectal discomfort and non-specific clinical symptoms. After this radiological finding, the patient underwent multiphase contrast computed tomography (MDCT) for initial staging and to study vascular involvement. Surgery was recommended to obtain an accurate diagnosis both due to initial symptoms of the intestinal obstruction and to avoid small bowel complications. The histopathological examination revealed a small bowel CL composed mainly of B cells FL with also CHL components. CONCLUSION It is important to note that involvement of the proximal ileal loops is very rare in small bowel lymphoma. MRI represents a precious diagnostic tool to evaluate the intra and extramural extent of the tumor.
