Abstract
Work difficulties are a primary issue of multiple sclerosis (MS). This is because disease onset usually occurs during a time when establishing a career and employment is of paramount importance. The MSWDQ-23 (Multiple Sclerosis Work Difficulties Questionnaire) was developed to assess work difficulties in MS. The WORKSEP project aimed to adapt and validate the French MSWDQ-23 and develop cutoff scores through a multicentric study in 14 centers across France. Two hundred and six persons with MS were recruited: 149 with relapsing-remitting MS and 57 with progressive forms of MS. They completed the MSWDQ-23 in French, the DEX to assess the subjective cognitive executive complaint, and the SF-36 evaluating mental (MC) and physical (PC) health-related quality of life. The results indicated that the French version of MSWDQ-23 has high internal consistency (Cronbach's α: 0.93) and test-retest reliability (ICC=0.83). A confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated a scale structure identical to the original English version comprising physical barriers (PB), psychological and cognitive barriers (PCB), and external barriers (EB). The construct and convergent validity were strong. A higher level of work difficulties at PB score was related to a higher level of disability at the EDSS and lower PC quality of life, and a higher level of PCB was related to higher cognitive executive complaints and lower MC quality of life. ROC curves based on the difference between employed and unemployed patients allowed for determining cutoff values of 32 for the total score, 37 for PB, and 27 for PCB. This study allowed the validation of the MSWDQ-23 in the French language and is the first to propose a cutoff. Determining the cutoff value enables identifying patients needing intervention and targets the limitations that MS patients may encounter in the workplace. This easy-to-use instrument provides the opportunity to propose an adapted rehabilitation program or work adjustments to improve the quality of life in patients with MS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Job retention vocational rehabilitation (VR) interventions for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) can positively impact a person's independence and directly influence health and employment outcomes. However, evaluating the effectiveness of VR interventions can be challenging due to their highly individualised nature and the diverse range of potential health and employment outcomes that may be impacted. AIM To identify the most important outcomes of a job retention VR intervention from the perspective of people with MS. DESIGN A nominal group technique (NGT) was conducted with people with MS using Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Forms. The study involved completing a demographic questionnaire, being introduced to VR, silently generating ideas, round-robin discussions, ranking outcomes and reaching a consensus. NGT data were analysed using thematic analysis. RESULTS We conducted two NGTs involving 10 participants with MS. Nine outcomes were identified and ranked based on priority, relating to four themes: (1) Employer support and collaboration; (2) Empowerment; (3) Symptom management and progression and (4) Professional well-being and performance. CONCLUSION Improvements in employer support and symptom management were seen as key outcomes for VR interventions that could eventually lead to enhanced work performance and job retention for people with MS. Future research should explore how feasible it is to collect these outcomes to ascertain the impact of VR on employment over time. Due to the complexity of the outcomes identified, there may be a need to develop new outcome measures with improved validity and sensitivity to these interventions. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION This study is part of a larger project co-developed with three people MS. A lead patient and public involvement representative and lay co-author reviewed the study topic guide to improve clarity and study focus and supported the group discussions and data analysis with input from the lead researcher.

Abstract
People with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) suffer cognitive and motor impairments that significantly impact their work life and daily functioning. Because virtual reality (VR) technologies have shown promise in the field of neurorehabilitation, in this study we developed a VR-based cognitive training program and assessed whether it could improve cognitive functioning in a cohort of PwMS (n = 33) and healthy control participants (n = 26). We observed that, in both groups of participants, repeated practice led to a day-by-day increase in correct responses and a progressive reduction in errors in the VR task. More importantly, as revealed by comparisons of the participants' pre- and post-training scores, practice in the VR task also significantly improved performance in non-trained neuropsychological tests working assessing memory, information processing speed, and upper limb motor functions. Taken together, these findings suggest that training programs using VR technologies can positively impact both cognitive and motor functions in multiple sclerosis, thus offering new tools to prevent or attenuate the cognitive and motor decline experienced by PwMS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND CLASSIC-MS explored long-term outcomes of patients treated with cladribine tablets. OBJECTIVE Assess long-term efficacy in patients previously enrolled in ORACLE-MS, a Phase III parent trial. METHODS ORACLE-MS included patients with a first clinical demyelinating event (FCDE or clinically isolated syndrome) who received ⩾1 course of cladribine tablets or placebo. With a median follow-up time of 9.5 years, CLASSIC-MS assessed conversion rates to clinically definite multiple sclerosis (CDMS), time-to-conversion, relapse rates, long-term mobility/disability status and subsequent disease-modifying therapy (DMT) use. RESULTS Of 227 patients from the ORACLE-MS cohort of 616, 68.7% were exposed to cladribine tablets and 31.3% were never exposed. Of the exposed patients at risk, 51.5% converted to CDMS with a median conversion time of 8.4 (95% confidence interval (CI): 5.4-not estimable) years, versus 80.6%, median time 0.8 (95% CI: 0.3-2.4) years, for never exposed. Exposed patients were less likely to be using a wheelchair or ambulatory device or receive subsequent DMTs, and 53.2% were relapse-free versus 28.2% never exposed. CONCLUSIONS Proportionally, more FCDE patients exposed to cladribine tablets experienced delayed conversion to CDMS and fewer relapses and were less likely to use a wheelchair or ambulatory device than never-exposed patients, at 9.5 years (median).

Abstract
BACKGROUND To explore how a vocational rehabilitation (VR) intervention can be integrated within existing healthcare services for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) in the United Kingdom (UK) National Health Service (NHS). METHODS Data from 37 semi-structured interviews with 22 people with MS, eight employers, and seven healthcare professionals were analysed using a framework method informed by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research and an intervention logic model. RESULTS Four themes were identified relating to the structure of current NHS services, how to improve access to and awareness of VR services, the collaboration between internal and external networks, and the benefits of integrating VR within the NHS services. Participants identified several implementation barriers such as poor links with external organisations, staffing issues, and lack of funding. To overcome these barriers, participants suggested enablers such as technology (e.g., apps or online assessments) and collaboration with third-sector organisations to reduce the pressure on the NHS. CONCLUSION Significant organisational changes are required to ensure a successful implementation of a VR intervention within current NHS services. Despite this, the NHS was seen as a trustworthy organisation to offer support that can optimise the health and professional lives of people with MS.

Abstract
Purpose To investigate longitudinal relationships between employment status and disease-related, (neuro)psychological, and work-related factors in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods 170 employed people with MS underwent yearly neurological and neuropsychological examinations to assess MS-related disability and cognitive functioning. Additionally, they completed yearly questionnaires assessing depression, anxiety, fatigue, cognitive complaints, workplace support and coping. Multilevel models for change were fitted to examine progression of these factors over three years, and to assess possible relationships with change in employment status. Results People with a deteriorated employment status after three years reported more depression (p=0.009), a higher impact of fatigue (p<0.001), more cognitive complaints (p<0.001) and less workplace support (p=0.001) at baseline than people with a stable employment status. There were no differences in progression over time of the examined variables between people with a stable or deteriorated employment status. Conclusion More depression, a higher impact of fatigue, more cognitive complaints and less workplace support are predictive of a deteriorated employment status after three years in individuals with MS. How these factors progress over time is not different between those with a stable or deteriorated employment. MS-related disability, anxiety, objective cognition and coping were not related to a deterioration in employment status.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Most Multiple Sclerosis (MS) clinical trials fail to assess the long-term effects of disease-modifying therapies (DMT) or disability. METHODS COLuMbus was a single-visit, cross-sectional study in Argentina in adult patients with ≥10 years of MS since first diagnosis. The primary endpoint was to determine patient disability using the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS). The secondary endpoints were to evaluate the distribution of diagnoses between relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) and secondary progressive MS (SPMS), patient demographics, disease history, and the risk of disability progression. The relationship between baseline characteristics and the current disability state and the risk of disability progression was assessed. RESULTS Out of the 210 patients included, 76.7 % had a diagnosis of RRMS and 23.3 % had been diagnosed with SPMS, with a mean disease duration of 17.9 years and 20.5 years, respectively. The mean delay in the initial MS diagnosis was 2.6 years for the RRMS subgroup and 2.8 years for the SPMS subgroups. At the time of cut-off (28May2020), 90.1 % (RRMS) and 75.5 % (SPMS) of patients were receiving a DMT, with a mean of 1.5 and 2.0 prior DMTs, respectively. The median EDSS scores were 2.5 (RRMS) and 6.5 (SPMS). In the RRMS and SPMS subgroups, 23 % and 95.9 % of patients were at high risk of disability, respectively; the time since first diagnosis showed a significant correlation with the degree of disability. CONCLUSIONS This is the first local real-world study in patients with long-term MS that highlights the importance of recognizing early disease progression to treat the disease on time and delay disability.

Abstract
BACKGROUND No study has investigated the impact of dual-tasking difficulties as a risk factor for unemployment in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). The aim was to examine the influence of dual-task performance on employment status and work difficulties and to identify the predictors of employment status in pwMS. METHODS Eighty-four pwMS, including 42 employed and 42 unemployed, participated in the study. Dual-task difficulties were assessed using the Dual-task Impact on Daily-living Activities-Questionnaire (DIDA-Q), while dual-task performance was evaluated through the 30-second Walk Test and Nine-Hole Peg Test, incorporating a cognitive task. Walking and cognitive function were also measured. RESULTS Employed pwMS had better scores in walking, cognitive function, single and dual-task performance than unemployed pwMS (p < .05). Lower scores in walking (odds ratio [OR] = 1.81, p < .001) and upper extremity-related (OR = 1.44, p = .019) dual-task performance and higher scores in the cognitive subscale of the DIDA-Q questionnaire (OR = 1.20, p = .037) were significantly associated with higher odds of being unemployed. Among employed pwMS, DIDA-Q subscales showed moderate-to-strong correlations with MSWSDQ-23 scores. The other variables showed weak-to-moderate correlations with subscale and total scores of MSWSDQ-23. CONCLUSION Cognitive function, as opposed to motor function, has been found to be a significant predictor of unemployment in pwMS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cognitive reserve (CR) describes an individual's ability to adapt cognitive processes in response to brain atrophy, and has been reported to explain some of the discrepancy between brain atrophy and cognitive functioning outcomes in multiple sclerosis (MS). CR in MS is typically investigated by assessing an individual's pre- and/or post-diagnosis enrichment, which includes premorbid intellectual abilities, educational level, occupational attainment, and engagement in cognitively enriching leisure activities. Common MS symptoms (e.g., physical disability, fatigue, depression, anxiety) may impact an individual's ability to engage in various CR-enhancing activities post-diagnosis. It is unknown to what extent these MS symptoms have been taken into account in MS research on CR. As such, we identified whether studies assessed CR using measures of premorbid or continuous (including post-diagnosis) enrichment. For studies investigating continuous enrichment, we identified whether studies accounted for MS-impact, which MS symptoms were accounted for, and how, and whether studies acknowledged MS symptoms as potential CR-confounds. METHODS Three electronic databases (PsycINFO, PubMed, Scopus) were searched. Eligible studies investigated CR proxies (e.g., estimated premorbid intellectual abilities, vocabulary knowledge, educational level, occupational attainment, cognitively enriching leisure activities, or a combination thereof) in relation to cognitive, brain atrophy or connectivity, or daily functioning outcomes in adult participants with MS. We extracted data on methods and measures used, including any MS symptoms taken into account. Objectives were addressed using frequency analyses and narrative synthesis. RESULTS 115 studies were included in this review. 47.8% of all studies investigated continuous enrichment. Approximately half of the studies investigating continuous enrichment accounted for potential MS-impact in their analyses, with only 31.0% clearly identifying that they treated MS symptoms as potential confounds for CR-enhancement. A narrative synthesis of studies which investigated CR with and without controlling statistically for MS-impact indicated that accounting for MS symptoms may impact findings concerning the protective nature of CR. CONCLUSION Fewer than half of the studies investigating CR proxies in MS involved continuous enrichment. Just over half of these studies accounted for potential MS-impact in their analyses. To achieve a more complete and accurate understanding of CR in MS, future research should investigate both pre-MS and continuous enrichment. In doing so, MS symptoms and their potential impact should be considered. Establishing greater consistency and rigour across CR research in MS will be crucial to produce an evidence base for the development of interventions aimed at improving quality of care and life for pwMS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ambulatory impairment is a common and complex manifestation of multiple sclerosis (MS), and longitudinal patterns are not well understood. OBJECTIVE To characterize longitudinal walking speed trajectories in a general MS patient population and in those with early disease (⩽ 5 years from onset), identify subgroups with similar patterns, and examine associations with individual attributes. METHODS Using a retrospective cohort study design, latent class growth analysis was applied to longitudinal timed 25-foot walk (T25-FW) data from 7683 MS patients, to determine T25-FW trajectories. Associations were evaluated between trajectory assignment and individual attributes. Analyses were repeated for 2591 patients with early disease. RESULTS In the general patient population, six trajectories were discerned, ranging from very minimal to very high impairment at baseline, with variability in impairment accrual. The clusters with moderate to very high walking impairment were associated with being female, older and Black American, longer symptom duration, progressive course, and depressive symptoms. In the early disease subset, eight trajectories were discerned that included two subgroups that rapidly accrued impairment. CONCLUSION We identified novel subgroups of MS patients will distinct long-term T25-FW trajectories. These results underscore that socially disadvantaged and economically marginalized MS patients are the most vulnerable for severe ambulatory impairment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects people in their most productive years of life. Consequently, MS can substantially affect employment and work-related outcomes. OBJECTIVES This study characterizes productivity loss and employment status of people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) and investigates associated factors. METHODS We used baseline data collected as part of the Canadian Prospective Cohort Study to Understand Progression in Multiple Sclerosis (CanProCo). Using the Valuation of Lost Productivity questionnaire, we measured MS-related paid work productivity loss for those employed, productivity losses incurred by those unemployed (i.e. lost employment time), and unpaid work productivity losses for all. A set of sociodemographic, disease, and performance-related factors were investigated using a two-part regression model for productivity loss and a multinomial logistic model for employment status. RESULTS From the cohort of 888 pwMS enrolled at baseline (mostly showing mild to moderate disability), 75% were employed, and of those unemployed, 69% attributed their unemployment to health-related issues. Total productivity loss over a 3-month period averaged 64 and 395 hours for those employed and unemployed, respectively. Some factors that affected productivity loss and employment status included use of disease-modifying therapies, fatigue, and performance indicators such as cognitive processing speed. CONCLUSION Productivity loss experienced by employed and unemployed pwMS is substantial. Targeting the identified modifiable factors is likely to improve work productivity and permanence of MS patients in the workforce.

Abstract
Comorbid conditions commonly affect people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Population-based studies indicate that people with MS have an increased incidence of ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, and psychiatric disorders as compared to people without MS. People with MS from underrepresented minority and immigrant groups have higher comorbidity burdens. Comorbidities exert effects throughout the disease course, from symptom onset through diagnosis to the end of life. At the individual level, comorbidity is associated with higher relapse rates, greater physical and cognitive impairments, lower health-related quality of life, and increased mortality. At the level of the health system and society, comorbidity is associated with increased health care utilization, costs and work impairment. A nascent literature suggests that MS affects outcomes from comorbidities. Comorbidity management needs to be integrated into MS care, and this would be facilitated by determining optimal models of care.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To identify how prediagnosis employment, education, demographic statuses, and disease factors relate to job retention among people with multiple sclerosis (MS). DESIGN Cross-sectional logit model. SETTING Data were collected at an academic Medical University and a specialty hospital, both in the Southeastern US. PARTICIPANTS People with MS (N=1126) who were employed at the time of MS diagnosis. INTERVENTIONS Not applicable. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Job retention was measured by employment status at the time of follow-up assessment. RESULTS Prediagnostic educational attainment was predictive of job retention. Among several prediagnostic employment characteristics, only working in production, transportation, and material moving was significantly related to a lower odds of job retention compared with those working in professional/managerial occupations. Aging factors were strongly related to job retention, with declines in job retention observed with increasing age and years since diagnosis. Non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic participants reported lower odds of job retention than non-Hispanic White participants, although there were no observed effects of sex. A significantly lower job retention rate was observed among those with progressive MS, compared with relapsing-remitting. Job retention was also less likely among people with greater MS severity and fatigue. CONCLUSIONS Job retention strategies and interventions should target people with greater MS complications and severity, as well as non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic persons, because these characteristics are more highly related to job retention than our prediagnostic employment and vocational history.

Abstract
Social determinants of health are the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age. These circumstances are the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes. Evidence indicates that health behaviours, comorbidities and disease-modifying therapies all contribute to multiple sclerosis (MS) outcomes; however, our knowledge of the effects of social determinants — that is, the ‘risks of risks’ — on health has not yet changed our approach to MS. Assessing and addressing social determinants of health could fundamentally improve health and health care in MS; this approach has already been successful in improving outcomes in other chronic diseases. In this narrative Review, we identify and discuss the body of evidence supporting an effect of many social determinants of health, including racial background, employment and social support, on MS outcomes. It must be noted that many of the published studies were subject to bias, and screening tools and/or practical interventions that address these social determinants are, for the most part, lacking. The existing work does not fully explore the potential bidirectional and complex relationships between social determinants of health and MS, and the interpretation of findings is complicated by the interactions and intersections among many of the identified determinants. On the basis of the reviewed literature, we consider that, if effective interventions targeting social determinants of health were available, they could have substantial effects on MS outcomes. Therefore, funding for and focused design of studies to evaluate and address social determinants of health are urgently needed. Here, the authors discuss the potential effects of social determinants of health on multiple sclerosis risk and outcomes. They suggest that addressing these determinants of health could substantially improve the lives of individuals with multiple sclerosis and call for more research. Addressing an individual’s social determinants of health — that is, the conditions under which they are born, grow, live, work and age — could provide opportunities to reduce the burden of living with multiple sclerosis (MS). Individual factors that may influence MS-related outcomes include sex, gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, education and employment, socioeconomic status, and domestic abuse. Societal infrastructures, including access to food, health care and social support, can also affect MS-related outcomes. Awareness of the specific circumstances of a patient with MS might help neurologists deliver better care. Social determinants of health are not static and can change according to wider sociopolitical contexts, as highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Rigorous studies of interventions to ameliorate the effects of poor social determinants on people with MS are urgently needed.

Abstract
Background We aimed to summarise the prevalence of unemployment and early retirement among people with MS and analyze data according to a spatio-temporal perspective. Methods We undertook a systematic search of PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, SciVerse ScienceDirect, and Web of Science. We included any peer-reviewed original article reporting the prevalence of unemployment and early retirement in the working-age population with MS. We excluded articles off-topic, with other study designs, whose study sample were unlikely to be representative of the MS population and in case of unavailability of the full text or essential information. A random-effects meta-analysis was used to measure overall prevalence estimates of unemployment and early retirement. We used meta-regression and subgroup analysis to evaluate potential moderators of prevalence estimates and the leave-one-out method for sensitivity analyses. Results Our research identified 153 studies across 29 countries encompassing 188436 subjects with MS. The pooled overall effect size for unemployment and early retirement was 35.6% (95% CI 32.8–38.4; I2 = 99.31) and 17.2% (95% CI 14.6–20.2; I2 = 99.13), respectively. The prevalence of unemployment varied according to the year of publication (p < 0.001) and there was a statistically significant decrease in the prevalence of unemployment over time (p = 0.042). Regarding early retirement, only seven (31.8%) estimates obtained from studies that were published before 2010 were below the overall effect size in comparison to 27 (60.0%) estimates extracted from data published between 2010 and 2021 (p = 0.039). There was a significant difference in prevalence according to countries (p < 0.001). Psychiatric illness was an important clinical feature responsible for patients leaving the workforce in regions with a high MS prevalence. Conclusions Unemployment and early retirement due to MS remain highly prevalent, despite a slight decline in the last decade. The prevalence of unemployment and early retirement varies globally.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To update the knowledge on the occupational outcomes associated with multiple sclerosis (MS), systematically examine the extent, scope and nature of the pre-existing literature and identify research gaps in the existing literature. DESIGN Scoping review. DATA SOURCES A comprehensive database search of PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, SciVerse ScienceDirect and Web of Science was performed. There were no time limits. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA We included any peer-reviewed original article reporting the occupational outcomes of people with MS between the ages of 18 and 65 years. We excluded those off-topic and with insufficient information. METHODS This review was conducted following the Joanna Briggs Institute recommendations and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses for scoping review checklist. Screening, reading of full-texts and data extraction was performed in a standardised way by expert reviewers from 14 July 2021 to 31 October 2021. We provided a narrative synthesis and an overview of findings. RESULTS The initial systematic search yielded 104 228 results. After removing duplicates and applying the exclusion criteria, 403 articles were included in the review. In total, the studies evaluated 492 062 subjects with MS. One hundred fifty-four (38.2%) articles were published in the last 5 years, mostly from Europe and North America (50.9% and 33.0%, respectively). Concerning the occupational outcomes, studies mostly addressed unemployment (311, 77.2%), early retirement (120, 29.8%), disability pension (117, 29.0%), sick leave (77, 19.1%), the indirect cost of MS (74, 18.4%) and work characteristics (57, 14.1%). The results were categorised into seven subtopics: 'Changes in work and occupational status due to MS', 'work-related socio-economic consequences of MS', 'risk factors for unfavourable occupational outcomes', 'reported barriers to employment', 'reported job accommodations and vocational rehabilitation strategies', 'job satisfaction, stigma, and disclosing the diagnosis in the workplace' and 'rating clinical scales'. CONCLUSIONS There are several issues that deserve further in-depth study by the scientific community in order to improve the occupational outcomes of people with MS.

Abstract
Background The COVID-19 outbreak, which has caused great fear and has affected many aspects of life even in healthy individuals, could become more threatening for people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS). Aim The aim of the present study was to evaluate depression, sleep and quality of life before and one year after the COVID-19 pandemic in PwMS and the association between the fear of COVID-19 and these parameters. Methods A total of 89 PwMS and 262 healthy controls were included in this descriptive cross-sectional study. The study compared the data collected before the pandemic with the data collected online approximately one year after the onset of the pandemic. The Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S), the Worry and Anxiety Questionnaire (WAQ), the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the MS Quality of life scale (MSQoL-54) were used as data collection tools. Results The mean age of the patients was 41.08 (±10.2) years; 62% were female and half (50.6%) of the patients were not working. The mean EDSS and the mean duration of diagnosis were found to be 1.33(±1.6) and 7.73(±6.1), respectively. The mean age of the control group was 38.08 (±11.4) and 51.5% were female. In both groups, social (PwMS 79.8% vs HC 89.3%) and psychological (PwMS 61.8% vs HC 51.9%) fields were found to have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic most. Of the patients, 19% reported that the frequency of exacerbations increased during the pandemic. In the patient group, the fear of coronavirus (p=0.808) and the sleep quality (p=0.906) were found not to be different to those in control group; however, the anxiety (p=0.001) and depression (p=0.001) levels were determined to be significantly higher. Compared to the pre-pandemic period, the sleep quality of the patients was seen to be impaired during the pandemic (p<0.05); however, the depression scores were seen not to change (p>0.05). Although there were improvements in energy/vitality (p<0.001) and sexual function (p=0.002) scale scores, compared to the pre-pandemic period, deterioration in many sub-dimensions of quality of life was detected. Multiple regression analysis demonstrated that the anxiety, depression, and the sleep problems were predictors of both the physical health (p<0.001) and the mental health (p<0.001) sub-dimensions. The fear of coronavirus was determined not to have a significant effect on the quality of life (p>0.05). Conclusion It was determined that PwMS and were psychosocially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and had a significant deterioration in sleep quality at the end of a year spent with the pandemic. In addition, there was a deterioration in depression scores, although it was not statistically significant. Considering the fact that many subdimensions of quality of life, especially those associated with mental health, were impaired, it can be said that providing psychosocial support to patients is an important necessity.
