Abstract
Methidathion (MTDT), a common organophosphorus pesticide with high insecticidal activity, is widely used for pest control. However, the misuse of MTDT leads to widespread residues and endangers human health. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a simple and highly sensitive method for the detection of MTDT residues. Herein, ZIF-90/MnO2/g-C3N4/Fe3O4 composite particles were synthesized: The MnO2 nanosheets could absorb the energy of the excited g-C3N4 to quench the ECL of g-C3N4 while ZIF-90 acted as a mimetic enzyme to catalyze the formation of thiocholine from MTDT. The thiocholine caused the reduction of MnO2 to Mn2+, restoring the ECL signal of g-C3N4. Combined with molecular imprinting technique, an electrochemiluminescence sensor was constructed for the determination of MTDT. The determination range was 1.00 × 10-9 ~ 7.00 × 10-7 g/L, and the detection limit was 6.58 × 10-10 g/L. Structurally similar organophosphorus pesticides showed no cross-reactivity. The method has high sensitivity and specificity, and has been successfully applied to the determination of MTDT residue in fruits with recoveries in the range 93.75% ~ 102.37%.

Abstract
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have become more prevalent in fabricating sensor applications, particularly in medicine, pharmaceuticals, food quality monitoring, and the environment. The ease of their preparation, adaptability of templates, superior affinity and specificity, improved stability, and the possibility for downsizing are only a few benefits of these sensors. Moreover, from a medical perspective, monitoring therapeutic medications and determining pharmaceutical compounds in their pharmaceutical forms and biological systems is very important. Additionally, because medications are hazardous to the environment, effective, quick, and affordable determination in the surrounding environment is of major importance. Concerning a variety of performance criteria, including sensitivity, specificity, low detection limits, and affordability, MIP sensors outperform other published technologies for analyzing pharmaceutical drugs. MIP sensors have, therefore, been widely used as one of the most crucial techniques for analyzing pharmaceuticals. The first part of this review provides a detailed explanation of the many polymerization techniques that were employed to create high-performing MIP sensors. In the subsequent section of the review, the utilization of MIP-based sensors for quantifying the drugs in their pharmaceutical preparation, biological specimens, and environmental samples are covered in depth. Finally, a critical evaluation of the potential future research paths for MIP-based sensors clarifies the use of MIP in pharmaceutical fields.

Abstract
This research shows the exact detection of riboflavin (RF), dopamine (DA), and L-tryptophan (Trp) through molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based on the electropolymerization method. MIP was placed on the surface of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) by electropolymerization of monomers such as catechol and para-aminophenol, in the presence of all three analytes. The introduced sensor was investigated using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and electrochemical methods, for example, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The MIP/GCE performs well in terms of selectivity, reproducibility, repeatability, and stability. This sensor revealed good linear ranges of 0.005-500 μM for RF, 0.05-500 μM for DA, and 0.1-250 μM for Trp with limits of detection (LOD) as 0.0016 μM, 0.016 μM, and 0.03 μM for RF, DA, and Trp, respectively. The modified GCE was successfully applied to detect RF, DA, and Trp in serum and milk samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract
A magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) was fabricated for captopril by surface polymerization of Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticles using a new functional monomer of N-(allylcarbamothioyl)-2-chlorobenzamide. It was then employed as a selective nanosorbent for dispersive magnetic micro solid phase extraction (DM-μ-SPE) of captopril from biological and wastewater samples. To characterize the physicochemical properties of the MMIP, different analytical methods such as the vibrating sample magnetometer, field emission scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were utilized. To gain the maximum extraction recovery of captopril, the influence of various operating conditions was investigated and experimental settings optimized. After the extraction step, the concentration of captopril was measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 245 nm. The assessments demonstrated that the MMIP provides higher extraction efficiency in comparison to magnetic non-imprinted polymer, suggesting the establishment of selective recognition binding sites at the MMIP surface. The method depicted desirable figures of merit of a low detection limit of 0.16 μg L-1, a limit of quantification of 0.50 μg L-1, a linear dynamic range of 0.50-22.0 μg L-1, and an acceptable preconcentration factor of 333. The magnetic MIP was successfully employed for preconcentration and extraction of trace amounts of captopril in real samples, such as human blood serum, urine, and wastewater samples, with recoveries in the range 95.7 to 102.6% and relative standard deviations < 5%.

Abstract
A molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) is a synthetic polymer that has characteristics such as natural receptors which are able to interact and bind to a specific molecule that is used as a template in the MIP polymerization process. MIPs have been widely developed because of the need for more selective, effective, and efficient methods for sample preparation, identification, isolation, and separation. The MIP compositions consist of a template, monomer, crosslinker, initiator, and porogenic solvent. Generally, MIPs are only synthesized using one type of monomer (mono-functional monomer); however, along with the development of MIPs, MIPs began to be synthesized using two types of monomers to improve the performance of MIPs. MIPs used for identification, separation, and molecular analysis have the most applications in solid-phase extraction (SPE) and as biochemical sensors. Until now, no review article has discussed the various studies carried out in recent years in relation to the synthesis of dual-functional monomer MIPs. This review is necessary, as an improvement in the performance of MIPs still needs to be explored, and a dual-functional monomer strategy is one way of overcoming the current performance limitations. In this review article, we discuss the techniques commonly used in the synthesis of dual-functional monomer MIPs, and the use of dual-functional monomer MIPs as sorbents in the MI-SPE method and as detection elements in biochemical sensors. The application of dual-functional monomer MIPs showed better selectivity and adsorption capacity in these areas when compared to mono-functional monomer MIPs. However, the combination of functional monomers must be selected properly, in order to achieve an effective synergistic effect and produce the ideal MIP characteristics. Therefore, studies regarding the synergistic effect of the MIP combination still need to be carried out to obtain MIPs with superior characteristics.

Abstract
In the present study, a novel spectrofluorimetric approach was designed for the analysis of captopril as a thiol-containing compound. The approach is based on the formation of a ternary fluorescent compound between the target thiol compound, ortho-phthaldehyde, and a suitable primary amine-containing compound. The produced 1-thio-alkyl-isoindole derivative exhibited very high emission activity in a faintly alkaline aqueous solution that could be monitored at 448 nm (excitation at 334 nm). 2-Amino-6-methyl-6-hydroxy-heptane was selected as the primary amine candidate that gave the high fluorescence intensity with the stability of the formed product. At the optimal experimental condition, the intensity of fluorescence of the formed product was linearly related to the concentration of captopril in 20-450 ng mL-1 range. Commercial pharmaceutical tablets were analyzed, and the obtained results agreed with those of the published method regarding precision and accuracy. The mechanism of the reaction was discussed. In addition, the greenness of the approach was rated following eco-scale criteria.

Abstract
A new electrode was constructed via the anodic electropolymerization of poly-(L-serine) (PLS) on an rGO-Nafion-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the detection of the emerging organic contaminant naproxen (NPX). The morphology, crystal phase, and surface elements of the electrode were investigated with SEM, TEM, XRD, Raman, ATR-FTIR, zeta potential, C-H-O, and XPS analyses. Results of the surface analysis showed a porous structure resembling graphene sheets inside the Nafion/GCE architecture. Various electrochemical parameters, including scan rate, pH, and NPX concentration, were studied to evaluate the performance of the electrode. The synergistic effect of PLS and rGO-Nafion greatly facilitated the catalytic oxidation of NPX on PLS/rGO-Nafion/GCE. Electrochemical NPX oxidation was a one-electron transfer and adsorption limited process. The optimal working potential was 0.92 V vs. Ag/AgCl. The oxidation current of NPX increased with the increase in the concentration of analyte and scan rate but decreased with pH. The modified electrode exhibited excellent linearity with respect to NPX concentration in the range of 4.3 to 87 μM and limit of detection of 0.23 μM (S/N = 3). The PLS/rGO-Nafion/GCE is a fast, sensitive, reliable, and economical electrode for the detection of NPX in water.

Abstract
Novel ciprofloxacin composite imprinted materials are synthesized by using co-precipitation polymerization of dual functional monomers (methacrylic acid and 2-vinylpyridine) and polystyrene-co-divinylbenzene. The intermolecular interactions between monomers and template are evaluated by molecular modeling analysis. The physicochemical properties of the obtained polymers are characterized using FT-IR, TGA, and SEM. Batch adsorption experiments are used to investigate adsorption properties (kinetic, pH, and isotherm). These polymers are employed to prepare the solid phase extraction cartridges, and their extraction performances are analyzed by the HPLC-UV method. DFT calculations indicate that hydrogen bonding and π−π stacking are the driving forces for the formation of selective rebinding sites. The obtained polymers exhibit excellent adsorption properties, including fast kinetics and high adsorption capacity (up to 10.28 mg g−1) with an imprinted factor of 2.55. The Scatchard analysis indicates the presence of specific high-affinity adsorption sites on the imprinted polymer. These absorbents are employed to extract CIP in river water with recoveries in the range of 65.97–119.26% and the relative standard deviation of 3.59–14.01%. Furthermore, the used cartridges could be reused at least eight times without decreasing their initial adsorption capacity. Ciprofloxacin imprinted polymers were prepared using co-precipitation polymerization of methacrylic acid, 2-vinylpyridine and polystyrene-co-divinylbenzene.![]()

Abstract
Molecular imprinted polymers are custom made materials with specific recognition sites for a target molecule. Their specificity and the variety of materials and physical shapes in which they can be fabricated make them ideal components for sensing platforms. Despite their excellent properties, MIP-based sensors have rarely left the academic laboratory environment. This work presents a comprehensive review of recent reports in the environmental and biomedical fields, with a focus on electrochemical and optical signaling mechanisms. The discussion aims to identify knowledge gaps that hinder the translation of MIP-based technology from research laboratories to commercialization.

Abstract
A new nickel ion, magnetic imprinted polymer was fabricated through the precipitation polymerization process, using amine-functionalized silica-capped iron oxide particles as a core material, and 4-vinyl pyridine as complexing agent methacrylic acid as functional monomer. The resulted magnetic adsorbent was employed to eliminate toxic Ni2+ ions from industrial wastewater. The different parameters were optimized, such as pH, shaking speed, and adsorbent dose, to obtain the maximum adsorption capacity. The synthesized material showed high selectivity coefficient for Ni+2 ions in the presence of other competitive ions and followed pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm. A good adsorption capacity of 158.73 mg g-1 was obtained at optimized pH 6 in the concentration of 5 mg L-1 nickel ions aqueous solution. The limit of detection, quantification, and the percent relative standard deviation was found to be 0.58, 1.93, and 3.4%. This proves the excellent performance of prepared magnetic Ni(II) ion-imprinted polymer for selective detoxification of Ni2+ ions from real aqueous samples. Due to tunable magnetic properties, the prepared MMIPs are highly selective and sensitive and highly porous in nature; due to excellent magnetic properties, there is no need for centrifugation. Just use external magnetic field, it has good reusability. Showing preparation of Ni (II) imprinted magnetic polymer.

Abstract
It is widely accepted that cancer, the second leading cause of death, is a morbidity with big impacts on the global health. In the last few years, chemo-therapeutic treatment continually induces alone most lengthy consequents, which is extremely harmful for the physiological and psychological health of the patients. In the present research, we discuss the recent techniques for employed for extraction, and quantitative determination of such compounds in pharmaceutical, and biological specimens. In the frame of this information, this review aims to provide basic principles of chromatography, spectroscopy, and electroanalytical methods for the analysis of anticancer drugs published in the last three years. The review also describes the recent developments regarding enhancing the limit of detection (LOD), the linear dynamic range, and so forth. The results show that the LOD for the chromatographic techniques with the UV detector was obtained equaled over the range 2.0 ng mL-1-0.2 μg mL-1, whereas the LOD values for analysis by chromatographic technique with the mass spectrometry (MS) detector was found between 10.0 pg mL-1-0.002 μg mL-1. The biological fluids could be directly injected to capillary electrophoresis (CE) in cases where the medicine concentration is at the contents greater than mg L-1 or g L-1. Additionally, electrochemical detection of the anticancer drugs has been mainly conducted by the voltammetry techniques with diverse modified electrodes, and lower LODs were estimated between 3.0 ng mL-1-0.3 μg mL-1. It is safe to say that the analyses of anticancer drugs can be achieved by employing a plethora of techniques such as electroanalytical, spectroscopy, and chromatography techniques.

Abstract
In this work, an outstanding nanolayered tin phosphate with 15.0 Å interlayer spacing, Sn (HPO4)2·3H2O (SnP–H+), has been synthesized by conventional hydrothermal method and first used in the adsorptive removal of Cr(iii) from aqueous solution. A number of factors such as contact time, initial concentration of Cr(iii), temperature, pH, and ionic strength on adsorption were investigated by batch tests. Moreover, the isothermal adsorption characteristics and kinetic model of Cr(iii) onto SnP–H+ were studied. The results showed that the adsorption of Cr(iii) by SnP–H+ was in accordance with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The adsorption capacity of Cr(iii) onto SnP–H+ at temperature 40.0 °C and pH 3.0 could reach 81.1 mg g−1. And the distribution coefficient Kd was 23.0 g L−1. Overall, experiments certified that SnP–H+ was an excellent adsorbent that can effectively remove Cr(iii) from aqueous solution. In this work, an outstanding nanolayered tin phosphate with 15.0 Å interlayer spacing, Sn (HPO4)2·3H2O (SnP–H+), has been synthesized by conventional hydrothermal method and first used in the adsorptive removal of Cr(iii) from aqueous solution.![]()

Abstract
Monitoring antimalarial drugs is necessary for clinical assays, human health, and routine quality control practices in pharmaceutical industries. Herein, we present the development of sensor coatings based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) combined with quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) for sensitive and selective gravimetric detection of an antimalarial drug: artemether. The MIP coatings are synthesized by using artemether as the template in a poly(methacrylic acid-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) matrix. Artemether-MIP and the non-imprinted polymer (NIP) control or reference layers are deposited on 10 MHz dual-electrode QCM by spin coating (187 ± 9 nm layer thickness after optimization). The coatings are characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy that reveal marked differences among the MIP and NIP. The MIP-QCM sensor exhibits high sensitivity (0.51 Hz ppm-1) with sub-10 ppm detection and quantification limits. The MIP-QCM sensor also exhibits a 6-fold higher sensitivity compared to the NIP-QCM, and a dynamic working range of 30-100 ppm. The response time of MIP-QCM devices for a single cycle of analyte adsorption, signal saturation, and MIP regeneration is less than 2.5 min. The sensor also demonstrates selectivity factors of artemether-MIP of 2.2 and 4.1 compared to artemisinin and lumefantrine, respectively. Reversibility tests reveal less than 5% variation in sensor responses over three cycles of measurements at each tested concentration. The MIP-QCM showed lower detection limits than conventional HPLC-UV, and faster response time compared to HPLC-UV and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Abstract
Surface-imprinted polymers supported by hydroxyapatite (HAP@MIPs) were prepared using coumarin-3-carboxylic acid and naringenin as dummy template molecules of zearalenone (ZEA). HAP@MIPs were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, particle size distribution analysis, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The adsorption performance was studied. The results showed that it could reach the adsorption equilibrium within 6 min. The adsorption amount could reach 6.77 μg mg-1, while the concentration was 20 μg mL-1. The self-made solid-phase extraction (SPE) columns were prepared with HAP@MIPs as sorbents for the separation and purification of ZEA in cereal samples. The method was established by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The recoveries were in the range of 70.09-101.88%; the relative standard deviation was 2.06-8.47%. Finally, millet, coix lachryma, and corn were placed under extreme conditions to produce ZEA. The method was used to extract and analyze ZEA in the above samples. The results showed that self-made SPE columns with HPLC could be used for the separation and enrichment of ZEA in real samples. Graphical abstract.

Abstract
We demonstrate that a new, stable, artificial TATA (T - thymine, A - adenine) box is recognized by amino acids recognizing the natural TATA box. Here, the former mimicked, as a minimal motif, oligodeoxyribonucleotide interactions with amino acids of proteins involved in repairing of damaged dsDNA. By electropolymerization, we molecularly imprinted non-labeled 5'-TATAAA-3' via Watson-Crick nucleobase pairing, thus synthesizing, in a one-step procedure, the hexakis[bis(2,2'-bithien-5-yl)] TTTATA and simultaneously hybridizing it with the 5'-TATAAA-3' template. That is, a stable dsDNA analog having a controlled sequence of nucleobases was formed in the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). The 5'-TATAAA-3' was by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) depth profiling found to be homogeneously distributed both in the bulk of the MIP film and on its surface. The 5'-TATAAA-3' concentration in the 2.8(±0.2)-nm relative surface area, ~140-nm thick MIP film was 2.1 mM. The MIP served as a matrix of an artificial TATA box with the TATAAA-promoter sequence. We comprehensively characterized this artificial DNA hybrid by the polarization-modulation infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Further, we examined interactions of DNA repairing TATA binding protein (TBP) amino acids with the artificial TATA box prepared. That is, molecules of l-phenylalanine aromatic amino acid were presumably engaged in stacking interactions with nucleobase steps of this artificial TATA box. The nitrogen-to‑phosphorus atomic % ratio on the surface of the MIP-(5'-TATAAA-3') film increased by ~1.6 times after film immersing in the l-glutamic acid solution, as determined using the XPS depth profiling. Furthermore, l-lysine and l-serine preferentially interacted with the phosphate moiety of 5'-TATAAA-3'. We monitored amino acids interactions with the artificial TATA box using real-time piezoelectric microgravimetry at a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy under flow injection analysis (FIA) conditions.
