Abstract
Nutraceuticals are the nourishing components (hybrid of nutrition and pharmaceuticals) that are biologically active and possess capability for maintaining optimal health and benefits. These products play a significant role in human health care and its endurance, most importantly for the future therapeutic development. Nutraceuticals have received recognition due to their nutritional benefits along with therapeutic effects and safety profile. Nutraceuticals are globally growing in the field of services such as health care promotion, disease reduction, etc. Various drug nutraceutical interactions have also been elaborated with various examples in this review. Several patents on nutraceuticals in agricultural applications and in various diseases have been stated in the last section of review, which confirms the exponential growth of nutraceuticals' market value. Nutraceuticals have been used not only for nutrition but also as a support therapy for the prevention and treatment of various diseases, such as to reduce side effects of cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Diverse novel nanoformulation approaches tend to overcome challenges involved in formulation development of nutraceuticals. Prior information on various interactions with drugs may help in preventing any deleterious effects of nutraceuticals products. Nanotechnology also leads to the generation of micronized dietary products and other nutraceutical supplements with improved health benefits. In this review article, the latest key findings (clinical studies) on nutraceuticals that show the therapeutic action of nutraceutical's bioactive molecules on various diseases have also been discussed.

Abstract
The glucosinolate pathway, which is present in the order Brassicales, is one of the most researched defensive natural product biosynthesis pathways. Its core molecules, the glucosinolates are broken down upon pathogen challenge or tissue damage to yield an array of natural products that may help plants defend against the stressor. Though the most widely known glucosinolate decomposition products are the antimicrobial isothiocyanates, there is a wide range of other volatile and non-volatile natural products that arise from this biosynthetic pathway. This review summarizes our current knowledge on the interaction of these much less examined, non-isothiocyanate products with fungi. It deals with compounds including (1) glucosinolates and their biosynthesis precursors; (2) glucosinolate-derived nitriles (e.g. derivatives of 1H-indole-3-acetonitrile), thiocyanates, epithionitriles and oxazolidine-2-thiones; (3) putative isothiocyanate downstream products such as raphanusamic acid, 1H-indole-3-methanol (= indole-3-carbinol) and its oligomers, 1H-indol-3-ylmethanamine and ascorbigen; (4) 1H-indole-3-acetonitrile downstream products such as 1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde (indole-3-carboxaldehyde), 1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid and their derivatives; and (5) indole phytoalexins including brassinin, cyclobrassinin and brassilexin. Herein, a literature review on the following aspects is provided: their direct antifungal activity and the proposed mechanisms of antifungal action, increased biosynthesis after fungal challenge, as well as data on their biotransformation/detoxification by fungi, including but not limited to fungal myrosinase activity.

Abstract
The increasing demands of agriculture and the food market have resulted in intensive agricultural practices using synthetic fertilizers to maximize production. However, significant efforts have been made to implement more environmentally friendly procedures, such as composting, to overcome the adverse impact of these invasive practices. In the terms of this research, composting was applied to the production of two biofertilizers, using onion and mushroom by-products as raw materials respectively. The main purposes of this work were to identify the compounds that pass from the raw materials to the final products (onion-based and mushroom-based), as well as the characterization of the chemical profile of these final products following suspect and non-target screening workflows via UPLC-qToF-MS. Overall, 14 common compounds were identified in the onion and its final product, while 12 compounds were found in the mushroom and its corresponding product. These compounds belong to fatty acids, organic acids, and flavonoids, which could be beneficial to plant health. The determination of parameters, such as the pH, conductivity, organic matter, nitrogen content, and elemental analysis, were conducted for the overall characterization of the aforementioned products.

Abstract
The genus Pleurotus, namely oyster mushroom, is widely cultivated and consumed worldwide. Cap color is an important commercial trait for oyster mushroom. Diverse color is determined by various pigment constituents. However, the pigments of oyster mushrooms are still ambiguous. In this study, we extracted and identified pigments of oyster mushroom species with black, yellow and pink cap color. The extracted pigments appearing the three color types correspondingly to the cap color, which were all identified as melanin using a panel of spectroscopic and physical/imaging techniques. Nevertheless, HPLC and elemental analysis indicated that the melanin in oyster mushrooms was actually a mixture of eumelanin and phaeomelanin. Differences in the quantities and relative proportions of eumelanin and phaeomelanin resulted in the color variation in oyster mushroom caps. Electron microscopy studies showed that the melanin units are likely located in the cell wall, as reported in other fungi. The pigments in oyster mushrooms with three different cap color were extracted and identified for the first time in this study, which provided fundamental knowledge for future studies on the mechanism of color formation in mushrooms.

Abstract
Willaertia magna C2c maky is a thermophilic free-living amoeba strain that showed ability to eliminate Legionella pneumophila, a pathogenic bacterium living in the aquatic environment. The amoeba industry has proposed the use of Willaertia magna as a natural biocide to control L. pneumophila proliferation in cooling towers. Here, transcriptomic and proteomic studies were carried out in order to expand knowledge on W. magna produced in a bioreactor. Illumina RNA-seq generated 217 million raw reads. A total of 8790 transcripts were identified, of which 6179 and 5341 were assigned a function through comparisons with National Center of Biotechnology Information (NCBI) reference sequence and the Clusters of Orthologous Groups of proteins (COG) databases, respectively. To corroborate these transcriptomic data, we analyzed the W. magna proteome using LC–MS/MS. A total of 3561 proteins were identified. The results of transcriptome and proteome analyses were highly congruent. Metabolism study showed that W. magna preferentially consumed carbohydrates and fatty acids to grow. Finally, an in-depth analysis has shown that W. magna produces several enzymes that are probably involved in the metabolism of secondary metabolites. Overall, our multi-omic study of W. magna opens the way to a better understanding of the genetics and biology of this amoeba.

Abstract
In this study, sophoricoside from Fructus sophorae was highly bioconversed to genistein by co-immobilized Aspergillus niger and Yeast. Bioconversion conditions for genistein were optimized with single-factor experiments. The optimal conditions were as follows: microbial concentration 1.5 × 10(7) cells/mL, wet weight of microorganisms beads 10.0 g/g material, pH 5, ratio of liquid to solid 25:1 (mL/g), temperature 32 °C and time 24 h. Under these conditions, a 34.45-fold increase in production of genistein was observed with a bioreactor. Moreover, the antioxidant activities of the extracts from the fermented and untreated F. sophorae were 0.287 ± 0.11, 0.384 ± 0.08 mg/mL (IC50) and 1.84 ± 0.13, 1.28 ± 0.25 mmol Fe(II)/g, according to the DPPH test and FRAP assay, respectively. The results indicated that the method described in the current work were valuable procedure for the production of genistein, which is of most importance for industrial scale applications as well as food industry.
