Abstract
Carbon dot-based fluorescence sensors have attracted research interest for the selective determination of anti-inflammatory drugs in biological fluids and environments. The overdose and accumulation of anti-inflammatory drugs in tissues can cause chronic side effects including abdominal pain, and renal damage. Herein, we report a new fluorescent probe, bamboo stem waste-derived carbon dots (BS-CDs) for highly sensitive detection of Flufenamic acid (FA), a hazardous anti-inflammatory drug. The UV-vis absorption spectra of BS-CDs show a redshifted absorption peak at 283 nm upon the addition of FA suggesting strong binding interaction between BS-CDs and FA molecule. The BS-CDs showed a fluorescence enhancement (∼2-fold) detection for FA (400 μM) in the linear concentration range (0.40 → 0.65 μM) with a limit of detection (LoD; 17 nM) and binding constant (Ka = 1.33 × 10-3 M-1). The time-resolved fluorescence decay analysis showed that the average lifetime of BS-CDs has slightly changed (4.42 → 4.67 ns) by the interaction with FA through the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) process. The interference, pH, and effect of time results suggest that BS-CDs are highly selective probes for FA detection and do not show any interference involvement during FA detection. The confirmation of the structure and morphology changes of BS-CDs after interaction with FA was carried out by XRD, FESEM, HRTEM, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy. The practicability of the BS-CDs probe was proved by the detection of FA in human urine samples with recovery of 103-109 %. This suggests that the proposed BS-CDs-based 'turn-on' sensor could be used to determine the FA in biological fluids.

Abstract
Clioquinol (CLQ) is one of the most toxic halogenated neurodegenerative drugs, and its synaptic plasticity effect directly affects human health and the environment. Cupric oxide (CuO) is an ideal electrocatalyst owing to its earth-abundance, non-toxic nature, and cost-effectiveness. Since phenolate oxygen and pyridine nitrogen in CLQ act as an electron donor and pave the way for detection with Cu2+ ions in the CuO. Designing the architecture of CuO with a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) is a sensible strategy to improve the electrochemical activity of the developed sensor. Inspired by the bio-synthesis and green processing, we have demonstrated the in-situ synthesis of CuO nanosphere-decorated MWCNT by Chenopodium album leaf extract through a sonochemical approach and explored its electrochemical sensing performance toward CLQ. The physical comprehensive characterization of prepared nanocomposite was investigated by various microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. For comparison studies, the CuO nanosphere was prepared by the same preparation process without MWCNT. Based on the physical characterization outcomes, the morphological nature of CuO was observed to be a sphere-like structure, which was decorated on the MWCNT with an average crystallite size of 16 nm (± 1 nm). Based on the electrochemical studies, the fabricated nanocomposite exhibits a wider linear range of 0.025-1375 μM, with a minimum detection limit of 4.59 nM L-1 toward CLQ. The viability examination on the biological matrix obtained considerable spike recoveries.

Abstract
Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a significant viral resistant drug widely acknowledged for its immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activities. To minimize the impact of HCQ residues on environmental pathways, exploring control measures is vital. In this regard, electrochemical sensing of HCQ using well-structured functional materials is advantageous. This work aims to provide an economical and sustainable route for the synthesis of ANbO3 (A = Na,K) perovskites via a thymol-menthol-based natural deep eutectic solvent. The as-synthesized NaNbO3 and KNbO3 are pinned to functionalized carbon nanofibers (f-CNF) via an ultrasonication approach. Benefitting from the synergistic effect of rapid electron transfer and improved surface area, enhanced electrochemical activity for NaNbO3@f-CNF/GCE is achieved. The fabricated NaNbO3@f-CNF displays a LOD (DPV = 0.01 μM, i-t = 0.007 μM), wide dynamic range (DPV = 0.09-22.5 μM, i-t = 0.006-35 μM), outstanding selectivity, and reproducibility, proving feasible in real-time analysis with good recovery rates (±97.67-99.81%). The NADES-mediated preparation of perovskites evades the incorporation of traditional toxic solvents and yields atom-efficient ANbO3 (A = Na,K) associated with green solvent templates. This validates the sustainable fabrication of electrode materials with reduced energy stipulations for detecting hazardous drug pollutants in the ecosystem.

Abstract
The synthesis of manganese cobaltate (MnCo2O4) with the hybrid three-dimensional architecture has been developed as an electrocatalyst for the electrochemical sensing of paraoxon-ethyl (PEL). The detailed physicochemical and structural characterization of MnCo2O4 is meticulously examined. The MnCo2O4-modified screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) exhibits good electrocatalytic activity for the reduction of PEL compared with the bare SPCE due to numerous unique properties. By profiting from these advantages, the proposed MnCo2O4/SPCE shows superior sensing performance toward the determination of PEL, including low cathodic peak potential (- 0.64 V), wide detection range (0.015-435 µM), low limit of detection (0.002 µM), high detection sensitivity (2.30 µA µM-1 cm-2), excellent selectivity, and good reproducibility. Notably, the electrochemical performance of the MnCo2O4-based electrocatalyst is superior to those previously reported in the literatures. The practical application of the MnCo2O4/SPCE is effectively assessed in the analysis of food and water samples with satisfied recoveries of 96.00-99.35%. The superior performance of the proposed MnCo2O4 electrocatalyst holds considerable potential for future development of electrochemical sensing platforms.

Abstract
We report a one-dimensional titanium dioxide encapsulated with gold heterojunction nanofibers (TiO2/Au NFs) as robust electrocatalysts for electrochemical detection of diphenylamine (DPA). A TiO2/Au NFs were successfully synthesized by a coaxial electrospinning method. The formation of TiO2/Au NFs was confirmed by various analytical and spectroscopic approaches. The fabricated TiO2/Au NFs modified screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCE) exhibit a well-enhanced detection activity towards DPA sensing as compared to other electrodes. Under the experimental conditions, the proposed electrode leading to the sensing range from 0.05 to 60 µM with a detection limit of 0.009 µM was obtained for the DPA detection. Moreover, the TiO2/Au NFs/SPCE showed good selectivity towards the electrochemical oxidation of DPA. Interestingly, the TiO2/Au NFs modified electrode was then applied to detect the effect of DPA on spiked content in the food samples.

Abstract
Rational design and construction of the finest electrocatalytic materials are important for improving the performance of electrochemical sensors. Spinel bioxides based on cobalt manganate (CoMn2O4) are of particular importance for electrochemical sensors due to their excellent catalytic performance. In this study, three-dimensional CoMn2O4 with the petal-free, flowerlike structure is synthesized by facile hydrothermal and calcination methods for the electrochemical sensing of roxarsone (RXS). The effect of calcination temperature on the characteristics of CoMn2O4 was thoroughly studied by in-depth electron microscopic, spectroscopic, and analytical methods. Compared to previous reports, CoMn2O4-modified screen-printed carbon electrodes display superior performance for the RXS detection, including a wide linear range (0.01-0.84 μM; 0.84-1130 μM), a low limit of detection (0.002 μM), and a high sensitivity (33.13 μA μM-1 cm-2). The remarkable electrocatalytic performance can be attributed to its excellent physical properties, such as good conductivity, hybrid architectures, high specific surface area, and rapid electron transportation. More significantly, the proposed electrochemical sensor presents excellent selectivity, good stability, and high reproducibility. Besides, the detection of RXS in river water samples using the CoMn2O4-based electrochemical sensor shows satisfactory recovery values in the range of 98.00-99.80%. This work opens a new strategy to design an electrocatalyst with the hybrid architecture for high-performance electrochemical sensing.

Abstract
Rare-earth metal orthovanadates have great technological relevance in the family of rare-earth compounds owing to their excellent physical and chemical properties. A significant number of studies have been carried out on this class of compounds to exploit their electrochemical properties in virtue of variable oxidation states. But holmium vanadate (HoV) and its morphology selective synthesis have not been considered, which can have potential applications similar to the rest of the family. In this work, we propose the synthesis of superior architectures of HoV with a functionalized boron nitride (f-BN) nanocomposite. The synergistic effect between HoV and f-BN can have a positive effect on the physical characteristics of the nanocomposite, which can be explored for its electrochemical capacity. Here, HoV incorporated with f-BN is explored for the electrochemical detection of Hg2+ ions, which is known for its toxicity-induced environmental health hazards. The structural and compositional revelation reveals higher conductivity and faster electron transfer in the composite, which facilitates a wide working range (0.02-53.8 and 64.73-295.4 μM), low limit of detection (5 nM), higher sensitivity (66.6 μA μM-1 cm-2), good selectivity over 10-fold higher concentration of other interfering compounds compared to Hg2+ ion concentration, and good cycles stability (30 segments) toward Hg2+ ion detection. This also envisages the morphology selective synthesis and utilization of other rare-earth metals, whose electrochemical capacities are unexplored.
