Abstract
Electrochemical reduction of different aryldiazonium salts in aqueous solution was studied in this work and it is shown that the aryldiazonium salts are converted to the corresponding aryl radical and aryl anion. The results of this research indicate that the reduction of aryldiazonium salts takes place in two single-electron steps. Our data show that when the substituted group on the phenyl ring is H, Cl, OH, NO2, OCH3 or SO3−, the corresponding diazonium salt shows poor adsorption characteristics, but when the substituted group is methyl, the corresponding diazonium salt shows strong adsorption characteristics. In the latter case, the voltammogram exhibits three cathodic peaks. In addition, the effect of various substitutions on the aryldiazonium reduction was studied by Hammett's method. The data are show that with increasing electron withdrawing capacity of the substituent, the reduction of corresponding diazonium salt becomes easier. Electrochemical reduction of different aryldiazonium salts in aqueous solution was studied. It is shown that the aryldiazonium salts are converted to the corresponding aryl radical and aryl anion.![]()

Abstract
The enantioselective palladium-catalyzed Heck arylation of olefins using arenediazonium salts is one of the last features in the evolution of a synthetic method known as the Heck-Matsuda reaction. This personal account highlights the development of the enantioselective Heck-Matsuda reaction in its initial stages, the challenges faced along the way, and the interesting findings that opened new synthetic opportunities, mainly from our laboratory, featuring the Heck-Matsuda reaction as a central player in the synthesis of bioactive and functional molecules.

Abstract
A straightforward and scalable methodology to synthesize diphenyl arylphosphonates at 20 °C within 1-2 h is reported using inexpensive SA as the catalytic promoter of the reaction. Mechanistic investigations suggest that the reaction proceeds via radical-radical coupling, consistent with the so-called persistent radical effect. The reaction tolerated a wide range of functional groups and heteroaromatic moieties. The synthetic usefulness and the unique reactivity of the obtained phosphonates were demonstrated in different one-step transformations.

Abstract
The rich legacy of arenediazonium salts in the synthesis of unsymmetrical biaryls, built around the seminal works of Pschorr, Gomberg and Bachmann more than a century ago, continues to make important contributions at various evolutionary stages of modern biaryl synthesis. Based on in-depth mechanistic analysis and design of novel pathways and reaction conditions, the scope of biaryl synthesis with arenediazonium salts has enormously expanded in recent years through applications of transition metal/photoredox-catalysed cross-coupling, thermal/photosensitized radical chain CH-arylation of (hetero)arenes and arylative radical annulation reactions with alkynes. These recent developments have provided facile synthetic access to a wide variety of unsymmetrical biaryls of pharmaceutical, agrochemical and optoelectronic importance with green scale-up options and created opportunities for late-stage modification of peptides, nucleosides, carbon nanotubes and electrodes, the details of which are captured in this review.

Abstract
An efficient and stereoselective one-pot, two-step tandem α-arylation of glycals from readily available aryl amines via stable diazonium salts has been developed. Moreover, the stereoselective preparation of the challenging β- C-glycosyl arenes by the anomerization of α- C-glycosides using HBF4 is also described. This protocol has a broad substrate scope and a wide functional-group tolerance. It can be used for the gram-scale preparation of 3-oxo- C-glycosides, which are versatile substrates for the preparation of many biologically important C-glycosides.

Abstract
The Pd-catalyzed Heck-type coupling (Matsuda-Heck reaction) of electron rich arene diazonium salts with electron deficient olefins has been exploited for the synthesis of phenylpropanoid natural products. Examples described herein are the naturally occurring benzofurans methyl wutaifuranate, wutaifuranol, wutaifuranal, their 7-methoxy derivatives, and the O-prenylated natural products boropinols A and C.

Abstract
A novel method to synthesise 2-arylindoles is demonstrated via direct arylation of indoles with arylsulfonyl hydrazides. Under the optimized reaction conditions, the reaction well tolerates a wide variety of functional groups to afford structurally diverse 2-arylindoles in good to excellent yields at 70 °C.

Abstract
We developed a palladium-catalyzed carbonylative Sonogashira reaction with aryl triazenes and alkynes as substrates and methanesulfonic acid as the additive. A series of α,β-ynones were synthesized by this alternative procedure. Notably, bromides, iodides and hydroxyl groups could be well-tolerated under these reaction conditions.

Abstract
Heck arylation with allylic alcohol is extremely challenging due to chemo-, regio-, and stereoselective scrambling. Here we report a mild protocol for the alcohol selective β- and α-arylation of allylic and cinnamyl alcohols respectively with aryldiazonium salts. The steric and electronic parameters of the alkene play a prominent role in the regioselectivity.

Abstract
Ultrafast 2D NMR spectra are recorded on a compact spectrometer to follow in real time a reaction in the synthetic chemistry laboratory. Complex reactions can be monitored in non-deuterated solvents to confirm in real time the molecular structure of the compounds involved in the reaction while giving access to relevant kinetic parameters.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed intermolecular vicinal diarylation of terminal 1,3-dienes using aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates and arylboronic acids is reported. Using this technology, two different arenes are regioselectively introduced in a vicinal fashion across the terminal alkene of a variety of terminal 1,3-dienes at ambient temperature. Through the action of a chiral bicyclo[2.2.2]octadienyl ligand at -20 °C, good enantioselectivity has also been achieved.
