Abstract
Access to clean drinking water is a basic requirement, and eliminating pollutants from wastewater is important for saving water ecosystems. The porous structure and surface characteristics of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can function as a perfect scaffold for removing toxic compounds from wastewater. Porphyrins are promising building blocks for constructing MOFs. Porphyrin-based metal-organic frameworks (P-MOFs) have been fabricated using porphyrin ligands, metal clusters, or ions. These materials can harvest light from a wide region of the solar spectrum, and their framework morphology and physicochemical properties can be controlled by changing their peripheral subunits or metal ions. These porous crystalline materials have generated interest because of their distinctive characteristics, including large permanent porosity, interesting surface morphology, broad conformational diversity, high photostability, and semiconducting nature. This article discusses the recent progress and usefulness of P-MOFs. The fabrication procedures of P-MOFs are discussed, followed by the adsorptive and photocatalytic removal of contaminants from wastewater. The relationships between the geometries of P-MOFs and their light-harvesting and charge-transfer mechanisms for the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants are highlighted. Finally, some future perspectives and obstacles in the photodegradation usage of P-MOFs are discussed, along with feasible research directions to standardize efficient photocatalysts for improved photodegradation for water treatment.

Abstract
A method for the grafting of unsymmetrical A2BC-type 5,15-bis(4-butoxyphenyl)-10-(4-carboxyphenyl)-20-(phenanthrenoimidazolyl)-porphyrin onto the surface of nanostructured aluminum oxyhydroxide modified with a single SiO2 layer (NAOM) was successfully developed. A straightforward procedure towards surface modification of NAOM allowed us to prepare a new porphyrin-containing hybrid material. The obtained 3D heterostructure was extensively characterized using XPS, TEM and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Structural and morphological peculiarities of the inorganic support before and after the immobilization procedure were studied and discussed in detail. The stability of the material against leaching and the porphyrin immobilization ratio ca. 14% by weight were also revealed.

Abstract
Organic semiconductors are the focus of numerous studies; they are used in electronic devices. Modern research involves the production of neuromorphic organic materials, including those based on liquid crystal materials. The purpose of this work involves the theoretical modeling of molecules (the "core with branches" type) to construct a discotic mesophase capable of performing the functions of a neuromorphic material. For this purpose, the conductivity of crystal porphine, which can act as the nucleus of a molecule of the "core with branches" type, was investigated. The Marcus theory charge mobility values for the hole and electron were 0.148 and 0.088 cm2/V·s, respectively (the MOO method for calculating transfer integrals), and 0.561 and 0.160 cm2/V·s (DIPRO method). Based on TD-HF (HF-3c level of theory) calculations, possible structures of molecules for the formation of a discotic mesophase are proposed.

Abstract
A three-component reaction between the 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic (terephthalic) acid (H2bdc), bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methane (btrm) and zinc nitrate was studied, and three new coordination polymers were isolated by a careful selection of the reaction conditions. Coordination polymers {[Zn3(DMF)(btrm)(bdc)3]·nDMF}∞ and {[Zn3(btrm)(bdc)3]·nDMF}∞ containing trinuclear {Zn3(bdc)3} secondary building units are joined by btrm auxiliary linkers into three-dimensional metal–organic frameworks. The coordination polymer {[Zn(bdc)(btrm)]∙nDMF}∞ consists of Zn2+ cations joined by bdc2− and btrm linkers into a two-fold interpenetrated network. Upon activation, MOF [Zn3(btrm)(bdc)3]∞ demonstrated CO2/N2 adsorption selectivity with an ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) factor of 21. All three MOF demonstrated photoluminescence with a maximum near 435–440 nm upon excitation at 330 nm.
