Abstract
This study investigates the experiences of minority stress and resilience among LGBTQ+ students in educational settings and identifies critical contributors to their well-being. To highlight the unique educational experiences of LGBTQ+ participants a qualitative research strategy was employed. We conducted narrative interviews with 27 LGBTQ+ people aged 17 to 41 who are or have been enrolled in primary, secondary or tertiary education in Slovenia. The results indicate that minority stress is a significant in their educational experiences, with various deleterious effects. The testimonies of our respondents indicate, albeit to a lesser extent, that the education system can enhance the resilience of LGBTQ+ youth and mitigate the negative impacts of minority stress. This study confirms prior research on minority stress effects on LGBTQ+ individuals. It asserts that LGBTQ+ youth experience minority stress within the education system, while emphasizing that certain aspects of resilience can significantly mitigate these negative effects. As social support emerged as a significant factor in our study, it would be reasonable to investigate how school personnel can enhance LGBT youths' resilience in the future. Additionally, it would be beneficial to investigate how the support of peers and (chosen) families influences the school experiences of LGBTQ+ students.

Abstract
Autistic adults commonly experience anxiety and worry, although knowledge on how worry presents and the content, extent, and experiences among autistic adults is limited. A convergent parallel mixed-methods approach was used to explore the presentation and experiences of worry in autistic and non-autistic adults. Quantitative surveys were used to compare the content and extent of worry in autistic adults to non-autistic adults, with semi-structured interviews also conducted with autistic adults to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, impacts and content of worry in autistic adults. Findings indicated that autistic adults demonstrated clinically significant levels of worry which were substantially higher than non-autistic adults. Autistic adults described worry as a cycle of negative thoughts impacting their daily life. Findings indicate that autistic adults may worry more than non-autistic adults, impacting on participation in activities of daily living, sleep, and mental health.

Abstract
Background Research suggests that marginalized young adults, particularly sexual and gender minorities (SGM), face distinctive healthcare transition challenges. SGM often navigate a complex intersection of identities, experiences, and stressors that can contribute to mental health disparities. However, they often lack access to appropriate support and resources tailored to their needs, which can result in increased psychological distress. Drop-in centers are effective mental health interventions for marginalized communities. Therefore, we conducted a study to explore the healthcare access experiences and mental health outcomes of young adult SGM compared to their non-SGM counterparts. Methods We surveyed 151 young adults aged 18-25 who visited two drop-in centers for young adults experiencing homelessness in Houston, Texas, between October and November 2018. Depressive and anxiety symptoms were assessed using Patient Health Questionnaire- 4 (PHQ-4.ther variables included demographics, prior mental health diagnosis, and experiences of homelessness and involvement in justice. Results Transgender and gender-diverse individuals had higher proportions of anxiety symptoms than their cisgender counterparts, while gay and lesbian individuals were more likely to experience depressive symptoms. In general, SGM individuals were three times more likely to report a previous anxiety diagnosis and four times more likely to report a previous depression diagnosis than their non-SGM counterparts. However, we did not find a significant association between having anxiety or depressive symptoms with seeking healthcare, experiences of homelessness, and justice involvement. Conclusion The findings suggest that drop-in centers can provide targeted care for SGM youth with intersecting needs, thus improving their mental health outcomes. Nevertheless, more research is needed to understand further and inform more targeted and effective evidence-based interventions that support SGM young adults across the trajectory of experiences, changing needs, and care coordination over time during this critical and vulnerable transition to adulthood.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Sexual minority (SM) youth experience a greater mental health burden compared with their heterosexual peers. This study aimed to characterize mental health disparities among SM compared with non-SM youth, test main and interactive associations of SM identity and stressors targeting SM youth at the individual level (interpersonal SM discrimination) and structural level (state-level structural SM stigma) with youth mental health, and explore the contribution of interpersonal SM discrimination to the mental health burden of SM youth. METHOD Participants included 11,622 youth (ages 9-13; 47.6% assigned female at birth) from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study. Linear mixed-effects models tested main and interactive associations of SM identity, interpersonal SM discrimination, and structural SM stigma with mental health measures (self-reported overall psychopathology, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts), adjusting for demographics and other interpersonal stressors not specific to SM (other discrimination types, peer victimization, and cyberbullying). Longitudinal mediation models tested whether interpersonal SM discrimination mediated the associations between SM identity and mental health measures. RESULTS SM youth (n = 1,051) experienced more interpersonal SM discrimination and overall psychopathology compared with their non-SM peers (n = 10,571). Adjusting for demographics, there were significant associations (main effects) of interpersonal SM discrimination and structural SM stigma with overall psychopathology. When further adjusting for other non-SM-related stressors, the main effect of structural SM stigma was no longer significant. Interpersonal SM discrimination was also significantly associated with suicidal ideation and attempt, accounting for demographics, while structural SM stigma was not. Accounting for both demographics and other non-SM stressors, there was a significant interaction between SM identity and structural SM stigma in association with psychopathology (p = .02), such that, compared with their peers, SM youth showed a greater association between structural SM stigma and psychopathology. Longitudinal mediation revealed that interpersonal SM discrimination was a significant mediator explaining approximately 10% to 15% of the variance of the pathways between SM identity and all mental health outcomes. CONCLUSION Results delineate contributions of interpersonal discrimination and structural stigma targeting SM youth to their heightened mental health burden in early adolescence. These findings underscore the need to address microlevel and macrolevel SM discrimination and structural stigma when caring for this population. Abstract
Trans and gender-diverse (TGD) adolescents are likely to experience poorer mental health and wellbeing than their cisgender peers. Minority stress theory has developed as a possible explanation for some of this disadvantage: factors such as increased bullying and discrimination lead to excess stress and reduced wellbeing. However, the evidence base remains limited. This study drew on secondary data analysis of the #BeeWell longitudinal cohort over 2 years (N = 26 042, aged 12-13 at time one, T1). We report two unregistered hypotheses relating to T1 (autumn 2021) data which was available at the time of stage-one submission: H1, mean differences in T1 wellbeing; H2, mean differences in T1 minority-related stressors. These are followed by two registered hypotheses relating to T2 (autumn 2022) data: H3, replication of T1 mean differences in T2 wellbeing; H4, predictions were made about the strength of the association between T1 minority-related stressors, controlling for sexuality and T2 wellbeing across T1 gender identity groups. At both time points cis-females, TGD and those who preferred not to say their gender had lower wellbeing than cis-males (CM), with the largest effect evident for the TGD group. TGD adolescents also showed the largest disadvantage (mean difference) compared with CM for minority stressors. Counter to H4 and minority stress theory, gender was not found to moderate the effect of minority stressors on later wellbeing. Our findings highlight the vulnerability of the TGD group in terms of wellbeing and minority stressors and are discussed with relevance for policy and future research.

Abstract
Minority stress theory is a model for understanding health disparities among sexual minorities, defined as those who experience a level of same-sex attraction, identity, or behavior. Methods for assessing minority stress among youth included only adult measures until the development of the Sexual Minority Adolescent Stress Inventory (SMASI). The SMASI appears to be a robust scale in its ability to measure specific stressors and global minority stress among adolescents; however, it does not measure the domain-level constructs of proximal and distal stress, which are integral features of the underlying theory. This study tests the psychometric defensibility of including these domain-level factors within an updated SMASI measurement model. Results provide evidence for the structural validity of the proximal and distal domains within the SMASI measurement model and suggest this updated model has more informational value than the original model for capturing minority stress.
