Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the association between irrational beliefs and the 10-year cardiovascular disease (CVD) incidence among apparently healthy adults. The ATTICA study is a population-based, prospective cohort (2002-2012) consisting of 853 participants without evidence of CVD (453 men and 400 women) who underwent psychological evaluations. Participants completed the Irrational Beliefs Inventory (IBI, range 0-88), a self-reported measure consistent with the Ellis model of psychological disturbance. We conducted a factor analysis to develop irrational beliefs factors to evaluate the association between subcategories of irrational beliefs and CVD incidence. Demographic characteristics, detailed medical history, other psychological factors, and dietary and other lifestyle habits were also evaluated. The incidence of CVD was defined according to the International Coding Diseases (ICD)-10 criteria. The identified dominant irrational beliefs factor, "cognitive vulnerability to anxiety," consisted of demandingness, perfectionism, emotional irresponsibility, anxious overconcern, dependence on others, and overconcern for the welfare of others, was strongly associated with an increased 10-year CVD risk. Nested multi-adjusted regression analysis revealed that anxiety, as well as negative physical well-being, mediated this relationship, and subset of irrational beliefs predicted CVD risk directly and indirectly through anxiety and negative physical well-being. These findings further map the path through which irrational beliefs can contribute to CVDs and provide insights in favor of preventive healthcare.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Overcontrol and undercontrol personality types have been associated with an increase in eating pathology, depression and anxiety. The aim of the research was to explore whether latent overcontrol and undercontrol personality types could be identified using cluster analysis of the facets of the five factor model (FFM). We further aimed to understand how these personality types were associated with eating pathology, depressed mood and anxiety. METHODS A total of 561 participants (394 women and 167 men), aged 16-30 years in Australia completed a survey designed to assess disordered eating, FFM personality traits, anxiety, depression and stress. A systematic four-step process using hierarchical, k-means, and random forest cluster analyses were used to identify a meaningful 3-cluster solution. RESULTS The results revealed a cluster solution that represented overcontrol, undercontrol and resilient personality types, and highlighted facets of the FFM that were associated with each type. Both overcontrol and undercontrol personality types were associated with increased clinical symptoms compared to the resilient types. CONCLUSIONS It was concluded that FFM facets may potentially be more meaningful than broad domains in identifying personality types, and that both overcontrol and undercontrol personality types are likely associated with increased clinical symptoms.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Dimensions of perfectionism are associated with the onset and maintenance of eating disorder pathology in both clinical and non-clinical samples. The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of the association between perfectionism and eating disorders in adults. METHOD A literature search was conducted using the PsycINFO, Medline, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science and ProQuest databases. Ninety-five studies met the inclusion criteria and included a total sample of 32,840 participants (clinical eating disorder diagnosis N = 2414, non-clinical N = 30,428). Correlation coefficients (r) for the association between eating disorders and perfectionism were pooled. A meta-analysis to determine the association between two dimensions of perfectionism and eating disorder symptoms was conducted. Subgroup analyses were conducted with studies using clinical samples, and studies using the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire. RESULTS The pooled effect size for the association between perfectionistic concerns and eating disorder symptoms was r = 0.33 [0.30, 0.37]; and r = 0.20 [0.14, 0.25] for the association between perfectionistic strivings and eating disorder symptoms. In the clinical subgroup analyses the effect sizes were r = 0.40 [0.22, 0.58]; and r = 0.35 [0.26, 0.44] respectively. Medium to high heterogeneity was identified across all subgroup analyses and a significant level of publication bias was also identified. DISCUSSION The findings indicate both perfectionistic strivings and perfectionistic concerns have significant associations with eating disorders, and further support the argument that both dimensions of perfectionism are important factors in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Psychotic disorders and eating disorders are complex mental illnesses associated with increased mortality and functional impairment. This study aimed to investigate the co-occurrence and relationships between eating disorders and psychotic disorders and assess the mediation effect of mood instability. METHODS This study used data from the Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey (APMS) 2014, a general population-based survey in England. Participants (total N = 7546, female N = 4488, male N = 3058, mean age = 52.3 years) were categorised based on psychotic disorder status into the groups of probable psychosis, diagnosed psychosis, and healthy controls without psychosis. The dependent variable of this study was the presence or absence of an eating disorder, with mood instability as the mediator. Logistic regression and mediation analyses were conducted to assess the relationships between these variables. RESULTS Both probable and diagnosed psychoses were significantly related to the presence of an eating disorder, and mood instability was found to be a mediating variable with moderate effect. CONCLUSION The present study demonstrates a significant relationship between eating disorders and psychotic disorders in the English general population, indicating higher levels of co-occurrence between these two groups of disorders than when compared with healthy controls. The findings also suggest the relationship between eating and psychotic disorders is mediated, to an extent, by the presence of mood instability traits. Future research could extend the present study's findings through assessing whether specific eating disorders are more significantly related to psychotic disorders than others.

Abstract
Aging is accompanied by physical changes, both at the physiological and appearance levels. The way people perceive these changes has important consequences in general health and quality of life (QoL). This study analyzed the relationship between sociodemographic variables, psychological variables, use of antiaging cosmetic products/ aesthetic treatments, and QoL. This cross-sectional study included a sample of 271 women, aged between 25 and 70 years old, users of antiaging cosmetic products and/or aesthetic services. Participants were assessed on psychological morbidity (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale), appearance schemes (Appearance Schemas Inventory - Revised), self-esteem (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale), perfectionism (Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale), self-perceptions of aging (Brief Aging Perceptions Questionnaire), and QoL (SF-12v2). Results revealed that being older and having a higher household income was associated with better QoL. The use of facial firming products, hair coloring products, and sunscreen was also associated with better QoL. Psychological morbidity and perfectionism contributed negatively to QoL, while household income contributed positively. Aging perceptions moderated the relationship between self-esteem and QoL. According to findings, intervention programs to reduce psychological morbidity, increase self-esteem, promote more adaptive patterns of perfectionism, and recognize the role of age perception are needed in order to improve women's QoL. The perceived influence of the usage of cosmetic products to prevent/minimize aging signs should be further explored.

Abstract
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and eating disorders (ED) share common causal factors and often represent similar entities. Studies on obsessive-compulsive disorders and eating disorders reveal a significant correlation between maladaptive perfectionism. The objective of this study is to evaluate the predictive variables of perfectionism in patients diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and OCD using a structural equation model (SEM). The sample consisted of 187 participants (60.9% women, 39.1% men) with a mean age of 26.68 (SD = 10.97). The findings reveal that the model is the same in all the disorders evaluated, achieving an adequate fit: χ2 = 7.95 (p = 0.000), RMSEA = 0.087 (95% confidence interval: 0.00 to 0.02), CFI = 0.991, TLI = 0.951 and with an overall predictive capacity of around 30% (CD = 0.318). It is recommended that future studies address the subtypes of disorders evaluated using longitudinal designs.
