Abstract
Treatment options for single-system Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) range from observation to chemotherapy. Among these options, corticosteroid injection is appealing due to the feasibility, preservation of structure and function as well as the low complication rate. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) for the treatment of craniofacial LCH and present a typical case. 11 patients diagnosed with LCH of the jaws who received intralesional injection of TA at Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University from April 2014 to May 2021 were involved. Clinicopathologic data were collected and analyzed. The 11 subjects included 7 males and 4 females (mean age 14.6±16.9 y). Most lesions were located in the mandible (n=9, 81.8%). The effective rate of intralesional injection of TA was 90.9%. The average initial dosage and average accumulative dosage were 33.2±21.0 and 99.5±88.7 mg, respectively. The mean time needed for complete ossification of the lesion was 12.5±8.2 months. The mean follow-up time was 20±13.4 months. Although the effective rate was similar between children and adults (100% versus 75%, P=0.364), the initial dosage, accumulative dosage, number of injections, and time needed for complete ossification of the lesion were all lower in children (P<0.05). In conclusion, intralesional injection of TA is a suitable treatment option for craniofacial LCH, especially in children. Studies that incorporate a larger patient cohort should be conducted to verify the current findings.

Abstract
Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare condition in adults, especially when it is limited to a single area of the skull, known as solitary calvarial involvement. In this case report, we present a unique instance of LCH affecting the parietal bone with a pus-draining fistula. This is a rare and unusual presentation at this location, which has been scarcely reported in medical literature. A 30-year-old woman with no prior comorbidity presented with complaints of headache that persisted for a year. She also had swelling on her scalp and a yellowish discharge for 3 weeks, but no neurological problems were observed. Radiology revealed thinning of the calvaria, with ragged margins along the inner table, multiple focal erosions, and involvement of overlying soft tissue and bony sequestrum. The patient underwent biparietal craniotomy and excision of the lesion. The histopathology report showed LCH. After 8 months of follow-up, there was no recurrence. The management of solitary calvarial involvement by LCH with masquerading presentation as a scalp infection can be achieved through complete excision of the lesions, resulting in a favorable outcome.

Abstract
Key Clinical Message The manifestations of Langerhans cell histiocytosis can be limited in the oral cavity, including gingival recession, tooth mobility, and bone destruction. Dentists play a crucial role in the early detection and management of these oral symptoms, which can significantly impact the overall prognosis and quality of life for patients with this serious disease. Abstract The hyperplastic activity of bone marrow can lead to excessive histocyte proliferation, called Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH). Based on the accumulation location, it has various organ involvement, including skin, bone, and so forth. Oral manifestations such as tooth involvement, bone lesions, mucosal ulcers, and periodontal problems can occur, and they might be the only manifestation of LCH. A subtle diagnosis is crucial and can be started with dental examinations. A 5-year-old girl was examined with the chief complaint of gingival recession with no pain, caries, or calculus. The clinical and radiographical assessment led to further immunohistochemical (IHC) evaluations. The diagnosis was LCH based on S-100 and cluster of differentiation 1a (CD1a) markers. LCH can involve different cells and tissues locally or generally. The early detection and treatment of LCH increase children's survival rate and quality of future life. Therefore, an accurate diagnosis is important among dentists. They must consider that abnormal mobility, gingival, or periodontal problems with no logical cause might warn about a latent problem. Sometimes extraction of loose teeth is not the end of treatment; it is the start of neglecting a serious disease.

Abstract
Introduction Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare hematologic condition which can affect multiple organ systems and has variable presentation. LCH is more commonly seen as a malignancy of childhood. LCH in adulthood can have poor outcomes depending on the involvement of critical organs. Case Presentation We report a case of a 71-year-old female who presented with progressive weakness, weight loss, diarrhea, and jaundice, and had been undergoing outpatient workup for elevated liver enzymes for the last 2 years. She required admission to the intensive care unit for vasodilatory shock, requiring vasopressor and chronotropic support. Imaging showed an underlying multiorgan process involving the gastrointestinal tract, liver, spleen, and central nervous system. A repeat liver biopsy after a prior inconclusive one revealed the diagnosis of multisystem LCH presenting as secondary sclerosing cholangitis. Conclusion The uniqueness of this multisystem LCH case lies not only in its rarity but also in the diagnostic journey that necessitated a repeat biopsy for a conclusive diagnosis. Early identification and targeted intervention can help in ensuring better patient outcomes, especially when the presentation can overlap with various other possible conditions.

Abstract
Context.—
Although rare in everyday practice, the initial presentation of hematopoietic neoplasms other than lymphoma in the musculoskeletal system and other extranodal sites can generate challenging diagnostic problems for surgical pathologists.
Objective.—
To review the morphologic and immunophenotypic features of various nonlymphoid hematopoietic diseases presenting at extranodal sites, with emphasis on the inherent diagnostic pitfalls and differential diagnoses of these entities to aid surgical pathologists in their accurate recognition.
Data Sources.—
Cases reviewed herein represent both in-house and consult cases seen at our institution between 2010 and 2021.
Conclusions.—
Entities that present in this way include myeloid neoplasms and histiocytic/dendritic cell neoplasms. These tumors commonly cause nonspecific symptoms, and their histologic appearance can overlap with a variety of benign neoplasms and reactive processes. This can lead to delay in diagnosis and intervention with potentially lifesaving therapy; thus, accurate and expedient recognition is of paramount importance.

Abstract
Langerhans' cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a disease spectrum characterized by the intense infiltration/accumulation of Langerhans' cells in the affected tissues. Eosinophilic granuloma is the mildest form of LCH which mainly affects the skull, mandible, ribs and femur in children and young adults but rarely occurs in the maxilla. Here, we describe an unusual case of eosinophilic granuloma affecting the tissues adjacent to tooth #25 and tooth #46 (FDI numbering system) in a 35-year-old male. Although lesions underwent clinical remission after local radiotherapy, a new lesion appeared 11 months after initial therapy in tooth #18, indicating recurrence of eosinophilic granuloma. Subsequently, the patient was treated with corticosteroid therapy, achieved remission and is disease free after 3 years of follow-up.
