Abstract
BACKGROUND Ethical behavior of health workers is an important part of health services. The aim of the present study was to determine the relationship between ethics and professional commitment and its relationship with the level of respect for patient rights in medical students. MATERIAL & METHODS A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with the participation of nursing, midwifery and emergency medicine students of Ilam University of Medical Sciences. Sampling was done by stratified random method. The data was collected using Demographic, Professional Commitment, Professional ethics and a researcher made questioner on compliance with patient rights questionnaires. RESULTS 300 students were participated. The results showed that the average score of professional ethics in middle school students is high (64.07 ± 8.01), the average score of professional commitment is also high (64.07 ± 8.01) and the score of respect for patient rights is also high (10.74). ± 83.46) was obtained. The professional ethics score it showed a positive and statistically significant relationship with the patient's rights compliance score. only professional commitment is related to gender, but the average of all three variables in different age groups and the type of residence (dormitory, private home, etc.) have meaningful statistical difference. CONCLUSION The findings of the study show that the level of ethics and professional commitment and respect for patient rights among nursing, midwifery and emergency medicine students was good. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a basis for better planning for the development of knowledge and respect for patient rights among students.

Abstract
Background Clinical accompaniment is an activity predominantly supervised by the clinical facilitator to develop the skills of the students. In South Africa, clinical accompaniment aims to develop the skills of the students to equip them in delivering efficient health services to the patients. Previous studies revealed that students experienced challenges and were negatively affected due to inadequate clinical accompaniment in the learning practice. Aim The aim was to determine the challenges faced by University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) undergraduate nursing students during their clinical accompaniment. Methods An observational cross-sectional study design, with an analytic component was implemented. Questionnaires were used to collect data. Of the 400 registered nursing students, 245 were undergraduates; of these, 241 consented to participate in this study. Data captured into SPSS Statistics Package V28. ANOVA were used in comparing challenges amongst participants. A p-value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results A total of 241 participants responded to the questionnaires, which yielded a response rate of 98.4%. This study comprised first-year (32.4%), second-year (32.8%) and third-year (34.9%) students. There was no remarkable difference in terms of challenges amongst study participants (1st; 2nd; 3rd), p=0.592. Conclusion This study revealed the challenges faced by undergraduate nursing students during their clinical accompaniment. Contribution Study results might assist in developing effective guidelines to resolve the challenges encountered by students.

Abstract
AIMS To investigate nurses' experiences of adhering to professional values in clinical settings. DESIGN A qualitative study with a conventional content analysis approach. METHODS This study was conducted from January 2021 to March 2022. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 nurses working in different wards of five public and private hospitals in West Azerbaijan of Iran. Data were analysed using the conventional content analysis approach proposed by Graneheim and Lundman (Nurse education today, 24, 2004, 105) RESULTS: "Barriers to nurses' professional values" emerged as the main category of Iranian nurses' experiences in adhering to professional values. Three subcategories of barriers were revealed: "nurses' challenges," "professional suppressors" and "poor working conditions." CONCLUSION Barriers in clinical settings can overshadow nurses' professional performance and disrupt their adherence to professional values. Nursing managers must pay attention to nurses' challenges, their professional suppressors and poor working condition to help them promote their professional performance in clinical settings. Thus, nursing managers should not neglect the continuous education of nurses to assist them in increasing their clinical skills by holding practical and theoretical workshops. Improving the working conditions and clinical atmosphere by recruiting a capable workforce and applying psychological and financial support for nurses are essential to increase the quality of nursing care.

Abstract
Objective
In today's world with sweeping changes, nurses are responsible for providing high-quality and cost-benefit care, which would almost be impossible unless they achieve their high professional status. To date, no precise and comprehensive definition of professionalism in nursing has been evidently proposed. In fact, many of the previously proposed definitions are either complicated or ambiguous. Moreover, there is no consensus in the literature on an exhaustive definition for “a professional nurse.” The present study aimed to illustrate the concept of professionalism in nursing and identify its defining characteristics.
Methods
In this study, concept analysis was conducted using Whittemore et al.'s method for the integrated review. A comprehensive search of electronic, scientific databases including Eric, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO, PsychoINFO, Embass, MagIran, IranDoc, SID, and IRANMEDEX was carried out using the keywords such as professionalism, professional behavior, nursing professionalism (NP), professional attribute, and nursing.
Results
In the present study, a comprehensive search of 11 electronic databases retrieved 5738 articles. Then, 2837 duplicate articles were removed by endnote (version 8). Based on a preliminary examination of the titles and abstracts as well as the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 1517 articles were excluded. In addition, 137 articles were removed for scientific reasons. Finally, 52 articles in English and Persian were selected. Content analysis of the articles revealed four major themes, namely, individual prerequisite, professional prerequisite, appropriate structure, and socio-individual factors.
Conclusions
Professionalism in nursing is a major, multidimensional concept according to the literature that included individual prerequisites, professional prerequisites, appropriate structures, and socio-individual factors. In fact, professionalism in nursing comprises a wide range of personal characteristics, self-regulation, professional values, striving to acquire and enhance professional expertise, professional interactions, social, professional, and legal responsibility, and creation of a sense of belonging, and professional development.

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Professional identity is the expected outcome of nursing educational institutions reflected in the values, beliefs, attitudes, and behavior of nursing alumni as professional nurses. Nursing alumni’s experiences at the Bachelor nursing program in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) related to professional identity development (PID) at various nursing careers need to be explored.
AIM: This study aims to describe Ners alumni in PID at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).
METHODS: This study was a phenomenological approach with a maximum variation sampling technique. Seventeen nursing alumni who have been working as professional nurses for a minimum of two years and worked in various nursing careers were recruited. A semi-structured interview between 60-90 minutes was conducted. Data analysis used Colaizzi’s methods and Nvivo 12TM Plus.
RESULTS: There were two themes emerged from data; 1) Internal motivation to enhancing nursing career, with two sub-themes: having a great personal motivation and developing expertise, 2) External support driving nursing career, with five sub-themes: family encouragement, supports from a leader, accreditation and credential, exemplary role model and positive nursing image.
CONCLUSION: Nursing alumni engaged in a variety of professional roles that contributed to the nursing workforce. The supporting of PID impacts personal and professional capability and strengthens nurses’ careers.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between social media addiction (SMA) and work engagement (WE) among nurses in Turkey. DESIGN AND METHODS This cross-sectional and correlational study was conducted with 205 nurses. In the study, the SMA and WE scales were used. FINDINGS It was determined that there was a negative significant correlation between the SMA and WE variables and that SMA accounted for 2% of WE. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS The controlled use of social media by nurses and the use of strategies that support work engagement will make significant contributions both to nurses and to the outcomes of patient care.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The aim of this investigation was to perform the cross-cultural and linguistic translation and adaptation of the Nijmegen Professionalism Scale for Spanish nursing. Originally designed by Tromp et al. (2010) for its use by general practitioners, the new Spanish version of this tool assesses professional commitment, allowing for the comparison, prevention, association, and longitudinal monitoring of commitment among nursing professionals. METHODS The linguistic translation from English to Spanish was performed using the translation-back-translation method; the process of cross-cultural adaptation to the Spanish nursing context was carried out following the recommendations given by a panel of experts comprised of 24 practicing nurses with different professional backgrounds. The data for the feasibility study were collected between December 2015 and January 2016. RESULTS The original English version of the instrument contains 106 items and was originally developed for assessing professional behavior of general practitioner trainees; the new version, with a significant reduction in the initial number of items, comprises 49 items and is now ready for pilot testing and validation in our context. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE The Nijmegen Professionalism Scale in its Spanish version will act not only as a tool for measuring professional commitment among Spanish nurses but also as a motivational resource and means for reflection which will, in turn, increase the quality of the care provided by these professionals.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Professional values involve standards that are effective in solving problems, interacting with patients, making decisions on patient care and forming the student's attitude. Throughout the course of the nursing students' occupational education, these standards shape their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors regarding the provision of care for individuals. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between nursing students' professional values and their attitudes towards the elderly. DESIGN A cross-sectional research design was used in this study. SETTINGS This study was conducted at a university in the northeast of Turkey. PARTICIPANTS 2nd-year (n = 93), 3rd-year (n = 101) and 4th-year (n = 81) nursing students. METHOD The data for the study were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Nursing Professional Values Scale- Revised (NPVS-R) and the Ageism Attitude Scale (AAS). In the data analysis, independent samples t-test, ANOVA and Spearman Correlation were used. RESULTS The study found that the nursing students' average total NVPS-R score was 86.4 ± 16.2 and their average total AAS score was 82.7 ± 8.8. Furthermore, a significant correlation was observed between the professional values of the students and their attitudes towards the elderly (r = 0.407, p = 0.000). A positive, moderately strong correlation was determined between the total NPVS-R scores and the 'restricted life of elderly people' and 'positive attitudes towards elderly people' sub-scales of AAS (r = 0.418, r = 0.317, p < 0.005, respectively). CONCLUSION The present study has demonstrated that the nursing students' professional values are associated with their attitudes towards the elderly. In the light of these results, it is suggested that professional values be taught and that courses on values be added to the curriculum in order to improve the attitudes of the students towards ageism.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The concept of professional commitment is being widely studied at present. However, although it is considered an indicator for the most human part of nursing care, there is no clear definition for it, and different descriptors are being used indiscriminately to reference it. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to clarify the concept of professional commitment in nursing through the Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis process. DESIGN Systematic search using English and Spanish descriptors and concept analysis. Studies published between 2009 and June 2015, front-to-back analysis of the Nursing Ethics journal and manual check of articles cited in studies related to the Nijmegen Professionalism Scale. RESEARCH DESIGN The procedure of concept analysis developed by Rodgers was used. ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS Although the topic was not labeled as sensitive and subject to ethical approval, its realization was approved by the Ethical Committee of Clinical Research of Aragon (CEICA) approved the study on 18 March 2015 and also careful procedures have been followed according to ethics expressed in the Declaration of Helsinki. FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION A total of 17 published studies. A clear definition of the concept was made, and surrogate terms, concept dimension, differential factors related to the concept, sociocultural variations and consequences for nursing practice were identified. CONCLUSION There is a need for continuous advancement in the development of the concept, specific actions to encourage this and the improvement of evaluation methods for its study.
