Abstract
The growing global incidence of immune-mediated and inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) is worrisome, with evidence suggesting that environmental factors, notably urbanization and the reduction of green spaces, may act as potential instigators. However, conflicting findings in studies necessitate a closer examination of recent research (January 2020 - February 2024) to elucidate the factors contributing to these inconsistencies. This review explores study protocols to avoid erroneously endorsing the null hypothesis of no association between green space coverage and IMID risks. A literature search adhering to PRISMA-ScR guidelines yielded 46 relevant papers from Google Scolar and Pub Meb. The studies varied in design, with 17 being longitudinal, 24 cross-sectional, and five focusing on longitudinal parent-offspring connections. Geographic scope differed, with 21 multi-location and 25 single-location studies. Participant numbers ranged from 144 to 982,131 across diverse demographics. Additionally, some studies examined disease frequencies in large groups (several million people) residing in specific regions. Green space metrics encompassed NDVI, land cover data, plant biodiversity, and novel indexes, measured within 7.5-5000 m diameter buffers around residences or schools. The review advises against making definitive statements regarding the relationship between urban green spaces and the prevalence of IMIDs. It suggests that inconsistencies in study results may stem from variations in study designs and methodologies, as well as the complex, interacting mechanisms through which green spaces affect immune health. Future research recommendations include larger cohorts, early-life exposure data, and testing specific hypotheses related to vegetation types and participants' genetic predispositions.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW This review describes recent developments in neonatal skincare management and situates these findings within the preexisting literature on neonatal dermatology. RECENT FINDINGS The studies included in this review expand research methods evaluating skincare management to different contexts across the world. Several studies explore the roles of emollient therapy, disinfection, and skin-to-skin contact on improving neonates' long-term health outcomes. Recent findings also assess the impact of neonatal interventions on atopic dermatitis risk later in life as well as epidemiological and microbiome variables that may predict this risk. Additionally, updates on various dermatological conditions unique to neonates are discussed in further detail. SUMMARY Neonatal skincare management differs in notable ways from that of other age groups. The presentation of dermatologic diseases as well as the rare conditions that affect neonates make their clinical management unique. The recent literature on neonatal dermatology can help inform clinicians regarding important considerations in treating their neonatal population.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Several recent studies have investigated the association between maternal diet during pregnancy and wheezing or asthma in children. However, whether a specific dietary pattern during pregnancy protects children from wheezing or atopic diseases remains unclear. This study investigated the association between The Alternative Healthy Eating Index for Pregnancy (AHEI-P), the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII), and the risk for wheezing and atopic eczema in children during the first year of life. METHODS This study included 1330 mother-child pairs who attended the Kuopio Birth Cohort (KuBiCo) study and had dietary information during the last trimester and information on children's health in the first year of life. AHEI-P and DII indicate a healthy diet and dietary inflammation potential during pregnancy. The AHEI-P and DII were compared with reported wheezing and doctor-diagnosed atopic eczema in children during the first year of life. RESULTS Neither AHEI-P nor DII is associated with wheezing or atopic eczema in children when analyzed by continuous variables and by tertiles. The odds ratio (95% CI) for AHEI-P and wheezing was 0.99 (0.98-1.01), for AHEI-P and atopic eczema1.01 (0.99-1.02), for DII and wheezing 1.02 (0.95-1.09), and for DII and atopic eczema 0.97 (0.91-1.04). CONCLUSION In this cohort study, AHEI-P and DII during pregnancy were not associated with wheezing or atopic eczema in the offspring during the first year of life.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Rural children have a lower risk of asthma and atopic diseases than urban children. However, whether indoor microbiota in non-farming rural homes provides protection is unclear. METHODS Here, we examine if microbes in the beds of rural and urban infants are associated with later development of atopic diseases. We studied fungi and bacteria in the beds of 6-month-old infants (n = 514) in association with the risk of asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema and aeroallergen sensitization at 6 years of age in the prospective COPSAC2010 cohort. RESULTS Both fungal and bacterial diversity were lower in the beds of children, who later developed allergic rhinitis (-0.22 [-0.43,-0.01], padj = .04 and -.24 [-0.42,-0.05], padj = .01 respectively) and lower bacterial richness was discovered in beds of children later developing asthma (-41.34 [-76.95,-5.73], padj = .02) or allergic rhinitis (-45.65 [-81.19,-10.10], padj = .01). Interestingly, higher fungal diversity and richness were discovered in the beds of children developing eczema (0.23 [0.02,0.43], padj = .03 and 29.21 [1.59,56.83], padj = .04 respectively). We defined a limited set of fungal and bacterial genera that predicted rural/urban environment. Some rural-associated bacterial genera such as Romboutsia and Bacillus and fungal genera Spegazzinia and Physcia were also associated with reduced risk of diseases, including eczema. These fungal and bacterial fingerprints predicting the living environment were associated with asthma and allergic rhinitis, but not eczema, with rural compositions being protective. The bed dust bacteria mediated 27% of the protective association of a rural living environment for allergic rhinitis (p = .04). CONCLUSIONS Bed dust microbes can be differentially associated with airway- and skin-related diseases. The differing bed dust microbiota between rural and urban infants may influence their later risk of asthma and allergic rhinitis.
