Abstract
Following mass vaccinations for the control of the COVID-19 epidemic, a spectrum of cardiac and neurological disorders was reported among vaccinated individuals. This study examined the range of complications documented and factors related to their occurrence. Three electronic databases were searched for case reports and case series with descriptions of cardiac and/or neurological complications in COVID-19 vaccine recipients. A total of 698 vaccinees were included in this review, of which 259 (37.1%) had cardiac and 439 (62.9%) had neurological complications. Inflammatory conditions were the commonest among the cardiac complications; while polyneuropathy, demyelinating diseases and cerebrovascular disorders were the more common neurological complications. The mean age of those with cardiac complications (33.8 years) was much younger than those with neurological complications (49.7 years). There was no notable difference in the gender distribution between these two groups of vaccine recipients. mRNA vaccines (all brands) were associated with almost 90.0% of the cardiac complications, whereas viral vector vaccines were associated with slightly over half (52.6%) of the neurological complications. With regard to the dose, cardiac complications were more common after the second (69.1%), whereas neurological complications were more common after the first dose (63.6%). The majority of the cases had an uncomplicated clinical course. Nevertheless, 5.9% of cases with neurological complications and 2.5% of those with cardiac complications were fatal, underscoring the significance of the consistent surveillance and vigilant monitoring of vaccinated individuals to mitigate these occurrences.

Abstract
Aim To evaluate the subclinical cardiac involvement in COVID-19 patients without clinical cardiac evidence using cardiac MR imaging. Material and methods Participants recovered from COVID-19 without cardiac symptoms and no cardiovascular medical history were enrolled in a prospective cohort study. They underwent baseline cardiac MR and follow-up cardiac MR > 300 days after discharge (n = 20). The study also included healthy controls (n = 20). Extracellular volume fraction (ECV), native T1, and 2D strain data were assessed and compared. Results The ECV values of participants at baseline [30.0% (28.3%-32.5%)] and at follow-up [31.0% (28.0%-32.8%)] were increased compared to the healthy control group [27.0% (25.3%-28.0%)] (both p < 0.001). However, the ECV increase from baseline cardiac MR to follow-up cardiac MR was not significant (p = 0.378). There was a statistically significant difference in global native T1 between baseline [1140 (1108.3-1192.0) ms] and follow-up [1176.0 (1113.0-1206.3) ms] (p = 0.016). However, no native T1 difference was found between the healthy controls [1160.7 (1119.6-1195.4) ms] and the baseline (p = 0.394) or follow-up group (p = 0.168). The global T2 was 41(40-42) ms at follow-up which was within the normal range. In addition, We found a recovery in 2D GLS among COVID-19 participants between baseline and follow-up [-12.4(-11.7 to -14.3)% vs. -17.2(-16.2 to -18.3)%; p<0.001]. Conclusion Using cardiac MR myocardial tissue and strain imaging parameters, 35% of people without cardiac symptoms or clinical evidence of myocardial injury still had subclinical myocardial tissue characteristic abnormalities at 300 days, but 2D GLS had recovered.

Abstract
We present a case involving a young individual who developed acute myocarditis on the fourth day following administration of a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine. The patient's condition was managed conservatively, resulting in a favorable outcome. This paper extensively discusses the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, imaging characteristics of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-related myocarditis and includes a comprehensive review of pertinent literature. Additionally, a systematic review of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-related myocarditis, conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) principles, is presented. Healthcare professionals should maintain a clinical suspicion for COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-related myocarditis when encountering patients with confirmed myocarditis who have received recent COVID-19 mRNA vaccination, after ruling out other potential causes. The diagnosis of acute myocarditis primarily relies on adherence to the Lake Louise Criteria (LLC) for cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). Nevertheless, specific CMR features or distinctive patterns indicative of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-related myocarditis are currently undefined. Among patients with vaccine-related myocarditis, common CMR findings encompass subepicardial late gadolinium enhancement and T2-based myocardial edema, although these findings lack specificity and may resemble other medical conditions. Supportive care involving a short-term regimen of NSAIDs, colchicine, and steroids represents the cornerstone of treatment for this variant of myocarditis, which tends to be self-limiting with favorable short-term prognoses. Timely diagnosis is paramount for optimizing patient care.

Abstract
Vaccination is significant to control, mitigate, and recover from the destructive effects of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The incidence of myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination has been increasing and growing public concern; however, little is known about it. This study aimed to systematically review myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination. We included studies containing individual patient data of myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination published between January 1, 2020 and September 7, 2022 and excluded review articles. Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisals were used for risk of bias assessment. Descriptive and analytic statistics were performed. A total of 121 reports and 43 case series from five databases were included. We identified 396 published cases of myocarditis and observed that the majority of cases was male patients, happened following the second dose of mRNA vaccine administration, and experienced chest pain as a symptom. Previous COVID-19 infection was significantly associated (p < 0.01; OR, 5.74; 95% CI, 2.42-13.64) with the risk of myocarditis following the administration of the first dose, indicating that its primary mechanism is immune-mediated. Moreover, 63 histopathology examinations were dominated by non-infective subtypes. Electrocardiography and cardiac marker combination is a sensitive screening modality. However, cardiac magnetic resonance is a significant noninvasive examination to confirm myocarditis. Endomyocardial biopsy may be considered in confusing and severe cases. Myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination is relatively benign, with a median length of hospitalization of 5 days, intensive care unit admission of <12%, and mortality of <2%. The majority was treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, colchicine, and steroids. Surprisingly, deceased cases had characteristics of being female, older age, non-chest pain symptoms, first-dose vaccination, left ventricular ejection fraction of <30%, fulminant myocarditis, and eosinophil infiltrate histopathology.

Abstract
There have been reports of myocarditis following vaccination against COVID-19. We sought to describe cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) findings among pediatric patients. Retrospective review at a large academic center of patients clinically diagnosed with post-vaccine myocarditis (PVM) undergoing CMR. Data collected included parametric mapping, ventricular function, and degree of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). Post-processing strain analysis was performed using feature tracking. Strain values, T1/T2 values, and ventricular function were compared to age- and gender-matched controls with viral myocarditis using a Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. Among 12 patients with presumed PVM, 11 were male and 11 presented after the second vaccination dose, typically within 4 days. All presented with chest pain and elevated troponin. 10 met MRI criteria for acute myocarditis. All had LGE typically seen in the lateral and inferior walls; only five had prolonged T1 values. 10 met criteria for edema based on skeletal muscle to myocardium signal intensity ratio and only 5 had prolonged T2 mapping values. Patients with PVM had greater short-axis global circumferential and radial strain, right ventricle function, and cardiac output when compared to those with viral myocarditis. Patients with PVM have greater short-axis global circumferential and radial strains compared to those with viral myocarditis. LGE was universal in our cohort. Signal intensity ratios between skeletal muscle and myocardium may be more sensitive in identifying edema than T2 mapping. Overall, the impact on myocardial strain by CMR is less significant in PVM compared to more classic viral myocarditis.

Abstract
This study assessed the myocarditis and pericarditis reporting rate of the first dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in Europe. Myocarditis and pericarditis data pertinent to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (1 January 2021-11 February 2022) from EudraVigilance database were combined with European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)'s vaccination tracker data. The reporting rate was expressed as events (occurring within 28 days of the first dose) per 1 million individuals vaccinated. An observed-to-expected (OE) analysis quantified excess risk for myocarditis or pericarditis following the first mRNA COVID-19 vaccination. The reporting rate of myocarditis per 1 million individuals vaccinated was 17.27 (95% CI, 16.34-18.26) for CX-024414 and 8.44 (95% CI, 8.18-8.70) for TOZINAMERAN; and of pericarditis, 9.76 (95% CI, 9.06-10.51) for CX-024414 and 5.79 (95% CI, 5.56-6.01) for TOZINAMERAN. Both vaccines produced a myocarditis standardized morbidity ratio (SMR) > 1, with the CX-024414 vaccine having a greater SMR than TOZINAMERAN. Regarding TOZINAMERAN, SMR for pericarditis was >1 when considering the lowest background incidence, but <1 when considering the highest background incidence. Our results suggest an excess risk of myocarditis following the first dose of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, but the relationship between pericarditis and the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine remains unclear.

Abstract
COVID-19 vaccination has significantly reduced both the morbidity and mortality rates associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Vaccines, especially mRNA vaccines, have been proposed in several studies to complicate viral myocarditis. Thus, our systematic and meta-analysis review aims to further investigate the possibility of an association between COVID-19 vaccines and myocarditis. We systematically searched PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Ovid, and Google Scholar and did a gray search of other databases using the following keywords and terms: "Myocarditis ("Myocarditis" Mesh) OR "Chagas Cardiomyopathy" Mesh) AND "COVID-19 Vaccines" Mesh. The studies were limited to only English articles that reported myocardial inflammation or myocarditis associated with COVID-19 vaccines. Pooled risk ratio with its 95% confidence interval was analyzed by RevMan software (5.4) to perform the meta-analysis. Our study included 671 patients from 44 studies with a mean age of 14-40 years. Nevertheless, myocarditis was noted in a mean of (3.227) days, and 4.19 per million vaccination recipients experienced myocarditis. Most cases were clinically presented with manifestations of cough, chest pain, and fever. Laboratory tests revealed increased C-reactive protein, and troponin with all other cardiac markers in most patients. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed late gadolinium enhancement with myocardial edema and cardiomegaly. Also, electrocardiograms revealed ST-segment elevation in most patients. Furthermore, the incidence of myocarditis was statistically significantly lower in the COVID-19 vaccine group as compared with the control group (RR = 0.15, 95% CI = 0.10-0.23, p-value < 0.00001). No significant association was found between COVID-19 vaccines and the incidence of myocarditis. The study's findings highlight the importance of implementing evidence-based COVID-19 prevention strategies, such as vaccination, to reduce the public health impact of COVID-19 and its associated complications.

Abstract
Purpose To evaluate potential cardiac sequelae of COVID-19 vaccination at 2-month follow-up and relate cardiac symptoms to myocardial tissue changes on fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/MRI, blood biomarkers, health-related quality of life, and adverse outcomes. Materials and Methods In this prospective study (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04967807), a convenience sample of individuals aged ≥17 years were enrolled after COVID-19 vaccination and were categorized as symptomatic myocarditis (new cardiac symptoms within 14 days of vaccination and met diagnostic criteria for acute myocarditis), symptomatic no myocarditis (new cardiac symptoms but did not meet criteria for myocarditis), and asymptomatic (no new cardiac symptoms). Standardized evaluation was performed 2 months after vaccination, including cardiac fluorine 18 FDG PET/MRI, blood biomarkers, and health-related quality of life. Statistical analysis included Kruskal-Wallis and Fisher exact tests. Results Fifty-four participants were evaluated a median of 72 days (IQR: 42, 91) after COVID-19 vaccination, 17 symptomatic with myocarditis (36±[SD]15 years, 13 males), 17 symptomatic without myocarditis (42±12 years, 7 males), and 20 asymptomatic (45±14 years, 9 males). No participants in the symptomatic without myocarditis or asymptomatic groups had focal FDG-uptake, myocardial edema or impaired ventricular function. Two participants with symptomatic myocarditis had focal FDG-uptake, and three had high T2 on MRI. Health-related quality of life was lower in the symptomatic myocarditis group than the asymptomatic group. There were no adverse cardiac events beyond myocarditis in any participant. Conclusions At two-month follow-up, FDG PET/MRI showed evidence of myocardial inflammation in 2/17 participants diagnosed with acute myocarditis early after COVID-19 vaccination, but not in symptomatic and asymptomatic participants without acute myocarditis.Keywords: Myocarditis, Vaccination, COVID-19, PET/MRI, Cardiac MRI, FDG-PET.

Abstract
SARS-CoV-2 emerged in December 2019 and led to the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts to develop therapeutics have led to innovations such as mRNA vaccines and oral antivirals. Here we provide a narrative review of the biologic therapeutics used or proposed to treat COVID-19 during the last 3 years. This paper, along with its companion that covers xenobiotics and alternative remedies, is an update to our 2020 paper. Monoclonal antibodies prevent progression to severe disease, are not equally effective across variants, and are associated with minimal and self-limited reactions. Convalescent plasma has side effects like monoclonal antibodies, but with more infusion reactions and less efficacy. Vaccines prevent progression for a larger part of the population. DNA and mRNA vaccines are more effective than protein or inactivated virus vaccines. After mRNA vaccines, young men are more likely to have myocarditis in the subsequent 7 days. After DNA vaccines, those aged 30-50 are very slightly more likely to have thrombotic disease. To all vaccines we discuss, women are slightly more likely to have an anaphylactic reaction than men, but the absolute risk is small.

Abstract
Variable clinical criteria taken by medical professionals across the world for myocarditis following coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination along with wide variation in treatment necessitates understanding and reviewing the same. A systematic review was conducted to elucidate the clinical findings, laboratory parameters, treatment and outcomes of individuals with myocarditis after COVID-19 vaccination after registering with PROSPERO. Electronic databases including MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed, LitCovid, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar and Web of Science were searched. A total of 85 articles encompassing 2184 patients were analysed. It was a predominantly male (73.4%) and young population (mean age: 25.5 ± 14.2 years) with most having taken an mRNA-based vaccine (99.4%). The mean duration from vaccination to symptom onset was 4.01 ± 6.99 days. Chest pain (90.1%), dyspnoea (25.7%) and fever (11.9%) were the most common symptoms. Only 2.3% had comorbidities. CRP was elevated in 83.3% and cardiac troponin in 97.6% patients. An abnormal ECG was reported in 979/1313 (74.6%) patients with ST-segment elevation being most common (34.9%). Echocardiographic data were available for 1243 patients (56.9%), of whom 288 (23.2%) had reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. Non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (76.5%), steroids (14.1%) followed by colchicine (7.3%) were used for treatment. Only 6 patients died among 1317 of whom data were available. Myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination is often mild, seen more commonly in young healthy males and is followed by rapid recovery with conservative treatment. The emergence of this adverse event calls for harmonizing case definitions and definite treatment guidelines, which require wider research.

Abstract
IMPORTANCE Published data on COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-associated myopericarditis in adolescents and young adults have been derived from small case series, national population-based studies, or passive reporting systems. Pooled evidence from a larger, international cohort is scarce. OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical features and early outcomes associated with myopericarditis after COVID-19 mRNA vaccination in a heterogeneous population of adolescents and young adults. DATA SOURCES PubMed and EMBASE were searched through August 2022. Language restrictions were not applied. STUDY SELECTION Observational studies and case series describing COVID-19 vaccine-associated myopericarditis in adolescents and young adults aged 12 to 20 years and reporting clinical characteristics and early outcomes were included. DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS Two independent investigators extracted relevant data from each study. One-group meta-analysis in a random effects model was performed. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis and Meta-analysis of Observational Studies in Epidemiology reporting guidelines were followed. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES The primary outcomes were clinical features and early outcomes for COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-associated myopericarditis, including incident rate, cardiac findings, hospitalization, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, and in-hospital mortality. RESULTS A total of 23 observational studies were identified, including 854 individuals (mean age, 15.9 [95% CI, 15.5-16.2] years) with COVID-19 vaccine-associated myopericarditis. Male sex was predominant, at 90.3% (95% CI, 87.3%-93.2%) of individuals. The incident rate was higher after the second dose than the first dose, with 74.4% (95% CI, 58.2%-90.5%) of events occurring after the second dose. Most patients (84.4% [95% CI, 80.5%-88.3%] of patients) had preserved left ventricular (LV) function. Of the 15.6% (95% CI, 11.7%-19.5%) of patients with LV systolic dysfunction (LV ejection fraction [LVEF] <55%), most (14.1% [95% CI, 10.2%-18.1%]) were mild (ie, LVEF 45%-54%), and only 1.3% (95% CI, 0%-2.6%) of patients had severe LV systolic dysfunction (ie, LVEF<35%). Interestingly, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed late gadolinium enhancement in 87.2% (95% CI, 79.8%-94.7%) of patients. Although 92.6% (95% CI, 87.8%-97.3%) of patients were hospitalized and 23.2% (95% CI, 11.7%-34.7%) of patients required ICU admission, inotropes were used in only 1.3% (95% CI, 0%-2.7%) of patients, no patients died or required mechanical support, and the hospital length of stay was 2.8 (95% CI, 2.1-3.5) days. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE This systematic review and meta-analysis found low incidence rate and largely favorable early outcomes of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-associated myopericarditis in adolescents and young adults from a wide range of populations. These findings are reassuring but continued follow-up is warranted.

Abstract
Understanding the pattern and severity of myocarditis caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine is imperative for improving the care of the patients, and cardiac evaluation by MRI plays a key role in this regard. Our systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to summarize cardiac MRI findings in COVID-19 vaccine-related myocarditis. We performed a comprehensive systematic review of literature in PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases using key terms covering COVID-19 vaccine, myocarditis, and cardiac MRI. Individual-level patient data (IPD) and aggregated-level data (AD) studies were pooled through a two-stage analysis method. For this purpose, all IPD were first gathered into a single data set and reduced to AD, and then this AD (from IPD studies) was pooled with existing AD (from the AD studies) using fixed/random effect models. I2 was used to assess the degree of heterogeneity, and the prespecified level of statistical significance (P value for heterogeneity) was <0.1. Based on meta-analysis of 102 studies (n = 468 patients), 79% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 54%-97%) of patients fulfilled Lake Louise criteria (LLC) for diagnosis of myocarditis. Cardiac MRI abnormalities included elevated T2 in 72% (95% CI: 50%-90%), myocardial late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in 93% (95% CI: 83%-99%; nearly all with a subepicardial and/or midwall pattern), impaired left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (<50%) in 4% (95% CI: 1.0%-9.0%). Moreover, elevated T1 and extracellular volume fraction (ECV) (>30), reported only by some IPD studies, were detected in 74.5% (76/102) and 32% (16/50) of patients, respectively. In conclusion, our findings may suggest that over two-thirds of patients with clinically suspected myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination meet the LLC. COVID-19 vaccine-associated myocarditis may show a similar pattern compared to other acute myocarditis entities. Notably, preserved LVEF is probably a common finding in these patients. Abstract
Autoimmunity linked to COVID-19 immunization has been recorded throughout the pandemic. Herein we present six new patients who experienced relapses of previous autoimmune disease (AD) or developed a new autoimmune or autoinflammatory condition following vaccination. In addition, we documented additional cases through a systematic review of the literature up to August 1st, 2022, in which 464 studies (928 cases) were included. The majority of patients (53.6%) were women, with a median age of 48 years (IQR: 34 to 66). The median period between immunization and the start of symptoms was eight days (IQR: 3 to 14). New-onset conditions were observed in 81.5% (n: 756) of the cases. The most common diseases associated with new-onset events following vaccination were immune thrombocytopenia, myocarditis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. In contrast, immune thrombocytopenia, psoriasis, IgA nephropathy, and systemic lupus erythematosus were the most common illnesses associated with relapsing episodes (18.5%, n: 172). The first dosage was linked with new-onset events (69.8% vs. 59.3%, P = 0.0100), whereas the second dose was related to relapsing disease (29.5% vs. 59.3%, P = 0.0159). New-onset conditions and relapsing diseases were more common in women (51.5% and 62.9%, respectively; P = 0.0081). The groups were evenly balanced in age. No deaths were recorded after the disease relapsed, while 4.7% of patients with new-onset conditions died (P = 0.0013). In conclusion, there may be an association between COVID-19 vaccination and autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Some ADs seem to be more common than others. Vaccines and SARS-CoV-2 may induce autoimmunity through similar mechanisms. Large, well-controlled studies are warranted to validate this relationship and assess additional variables such as genetic and other environmental factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. Although coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) affects every population group, the sports community and athletes require special consideration of the effects on cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, neurologic, and respiratory systems. A comprehensive understanding of imaging indications, findings, and features of COVID-19 supports appropriate imaging utilization and effective patient management and treatment. PURPOSE To review the spectrum of sports imaging in COVID-19 infection, organ system manifestations, vaccine effects, and complications in recreational and competitive athletes. STUDY DESIGN Narrative review. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE Levels 4 and 5. METHODS Based on a PubMed database search, studies describing the imaging findings of COVID-19 infection, organ system manifestations, vaccine effects, and complications in recreational and competitive athletes were included. RESULTS On March 11, 2020, World Health Organization officially declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. As of May 9, 2022, more than 515 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported globally. While the multisystem effects of COVID-19 are incompletely understood, the role of imaging in diagnosing, monitoring, and prognosticating active disease, long-term effects, and complications is evolving. In the respiratory system, imaging plays an important role in diagnosing, characterizing, and monitoring pulmonary COVID-19 infections, barotrauma, and COVID-19-associated chronic pulmonary opacities and fibrotic-like lung changes. Ultrasonography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging aid in the timely diagnosis of ischemic, embolic, and thrombotic peripheral and central cardiovascular events, including deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocarditis, and stroke. COVID-19-associated musculoskeletal and peripheral nervous system manifestations include rhabdomyolysis and myonecrosis, plexus and peripheral neuropathies, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and shoulder injury related to vaccine administration. CONCLUSION In athletes, COVID-19 infections and associated effects on cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, neurologic, and respiratory systems require special consideration. With the increasing understanding of the multisystem effects of COVID-19, the role of imaging in diagnosing, monitoring, and prognosticating active disease, long-term effects, and complications is evolving. A comprehensive understanding of imaging indications, COVID-19 imaging features, and organ system effects aids in appropriate imaging utilization and effective patient management and treatments.

Abstract
Background: Since the successful development, approval, and administration of vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, the causative agent of COVID-19, there have been reports in the published literature, passive surveillance systems, and other pharmacovigilance platforms of a broad spectrum of adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination. A comprehensive review of the more serious adverse events associated with the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna mRNA vaccines is warranted, given the massive number of vaccine doses administered worldwide and the novel mechanism of action of these mRNA vaccines in the healthcare industry. Methods: A systematic review of the literature was conducted to identify relevant studies that have reported mRNA COVID-19 vaccine-related adverse events. Results: Serious and severe adverse events following mRNA COVID-19 vaccinations are rare. While a definitive causal relationship was not established in most cases, important adverse events associated with post-vaccination included rare and non-fatal myocarditis and pericarditis in younger vaccine recipients, thrombocytopenia, neurological effects such as seizures and orofacial events, skin reactions, and allergic hypersensitivities. Conclusions: As a relatively new set of vaccines already administered to billions of people, COVID-19 mRNA-based vaccines are generally safe and efficacious. Further studies on long-term adverse events and other unpredictable reactions in close proximity to mRNA vaccination are required.

Abstract
COVID-19 mRNA vaccinations have recently been implicated in causing myocarditis. Therefore, the primary aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to investigate the clinical characteristics of patients with myocarditis following mRNA vaccination. The secondary aims were to report common imaging and laboratory findings, as well as treatment regimes, in these patients. A literature search was performed from December 2019 to June 2022. Eligible studies reported patients older than 18 years vaccinated with mRNA, a diagnosis of myocarditis, and subsequent outcomes. Pooled mean or proportion were analyzed using a random-effects model. Seventy-five unique studies (patient n = 188, 89.4% male, mean age 18-67 years) were included. Eighty-six patients had Moderna vaccines while one hundred and two patients had Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines. The most common presenting symptoms were chest pain (34.5%), fever (17.1%), myalgia (12.4%), and chills (12.1%). The most common radiologic findings were ST-related changes on an electrocardiogram (58.7%) and hypokinesia on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging or echocardiography (50.7%). Laboratory findings included elevated Troponin I levels (81.7%) and elevated C-reactive protein (71.5%). Seven patients were admitted to the intensive care unit. The most common treatment modality was non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (36.6%) followed by colchicine (28.5%). This meta-analysis presents novel evidence to suggest possible myocarditis post mRNA vaccination in certain individuals, especially young male patients. Clinical practice must therefore take appropriate pre-cautionary measures when administrating COVID-19 mRNA vaccinations.

Abstract
We reviewed the reported imaging findings of myocarditis in the literature following COVID-19 vaccination on cardiac imaging by a literature search in online databases, including Scopus, Medline (PubMed), Web of Science, Embase (Elsevier), and Google Scholar. In total, 532 cases of myocarditis after COVID-19 vaccination were reported (462, 86.8% men and 70, 13.2% women, age range 12 to 80) with the following distribution: Pfizer-BioNTech: 367 (69%), Moderna: 137 (25.8%), AstraZeneca: 12 (2.3%), Janssen/Johnson & Johnson: 6 (1.1%), COVAXIN: 1 (0.1%), and unknown mRNA vaccine: 9 (1.7%). The distribution of patients receiving vaccine dosage was investigated. On cardiac MR Imaging, late intravenous gadolinium enhancement (LGE) was observed mainly in the epicardial/subepicardial segments (90.8%, 318 of 350 enhancing segments), with the dominance of inferolateral segment and inferior walls. Pericardial effusion was reported in 13.1% of cases. The vast majority of patients (94%, 500 of 532) were discharged from the hospital except for 4 (0.7%) cases. Post-COVID-19 myocarditis was most commonly reported in symptomatic men after the second or third dose, with CMRI findings including LGE in 90.8% of inferior and inferolateral epicardial/subepicardial segments. Most cases were self-limited.

Abstract
AIM Myopericarditis after COVID-19 vaccination were the most serious adverse events reported in children over 5 years of age. We want summarize these cases, describing their incidence, clinical features, diagnostic pathways, therapeutic strategies and outcome. METHODS A systematic review of the literature was conducted until 20 March 2022 by bibliographic electronic databases. We included all reports of post-vaccination myopericarditis in children aged between 5 and 18 years. RESULTS All reported cases had elevated serum Troponin levels, associated with electrocardiogram changes, but often with normal echocardiogram. Cardiac magnetic resonance images always showed typical alterations. The pathogenetic mechanism is still unknown. Myocarditis following post-COVID vaccination is more frequent in males with an average age of about 15 years. Treatment involves the usage of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and the average hospitalization is about 3 days. The long-term consequences are not yet known, so these patients should be studied in a cardiological follow up and abstention from physical activity should be recommended. CONCLUSION The benefits of COVID-19 vaccination in children and adolescents appear to outweigh the risk of developing post-vaccination myopericarditis. We can also speculate a possible approval of vaccination in children under 5 years for the coming winter.

Abstract
COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2, is one of the longest viral pandemics in the history of mankind, which have caused millions of deaths globally and induced severe deformities in the survivals. For instance, fibrosis and cavities in the infected lungs of COVID-19 are some of the complications observed in infected patients post COVID-19 recovery. These health abnormalities, including is multiple organ failure-the most striking pathological features of COVID-19-have been linked with diverse distribution of ACE2 receptor. Additionally, several health complications reports were reported after administration of COVID-19 vaccines in healthy individuals, but clinical or molecular pathways causing such complications are not yet studied in detail. Thus, the present systematic review established the comparison of health complication noted in vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals (COVID-19 infected patients) to identify the association between vaccination and the multiorgan failure based on the data obtained from case studies, research articles, clinical trials/Cohort based studies and review articles published between 2020-2022. This review also includes the biological rationale behind the COVID-19 infection and its subsequent symptoms and effects including multiorgan failure. In addition, multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS) has been informed in individuals post vaccination that resulted in multiorgan failure but, no direct correlation of vaccination with MIS has been established. Similarly, hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) also noted to cause multiorgan failure in some individuals following full vaccination. Furthermore, severe complications were recorded in elderly patients (+40 years of age), indicates that older age individuals are higher risk by COVID-19 and post vaccination, but available literature is not sufficient to comply with any conclusive statements on relationship between vaccination and multiorgan failure.

Abstract
Background The coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID‐19) is a global pandemic with over 266 million cases and 5 million deaths worldwide. Anti‐COVID‐19 vaccinations have had exceptional success in subduing the incidence, prevalence, and disease severity of COVID‐19, but rare cases of myocarditis have been reported after COVID‐19 vaccinations. Hypothesis Myocarditis occurring after COVID‐19 mRNA vaccinations have distinguishable clinical characteristics. They usually have a favorable prognosis. Methods We performed a systematic literature search on PUBMED and MEDLINE database from inception to December 5, 2021. Studies were analyzed based on predetermined eligibility criteria. Results A total of 57 studies containing 275 cases of COVID‐19 vaccine‐associated myocarditis were catalogued. Mean age was 26.7 years and male to female ratio was 14:1. For 86.9% of patients, myocarditis occurred after the second dose. Average time to onset and length of hospitalization were 3.7 and 3.9 days, respectively. Prognosis was largely benign, but there was a 1.1% reported mortality. Chest pain (95.2%), elevation of troponin (100%), and ST elevation on electrocardiography (68.5%) were common. Nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (81.4%) were the most used medication, followed by colchicine (33.1%). Conclusions Patients with COVID‐19 vaccine‐associated myocarditis are usually younger males presenting with chest pain 3–4 days after receiving their second dose of COVID vaccine. Diagnosis is made by exclusion of all other etiologies. Given significant population benefit from COVID‐19 vaccination, physicians should continue to encourage vaccination while remaining vigilant of the very rare occurrence of myocarditis following COVID‐19 vaccination.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 has been the main tool to contain the pandemic. The rush development of the 3 vaccines and their expedited approval have led to inoculation of millions of patients around the world, leading to a containment of the disease. Despite continuous viral mutations and the identification of weaker variants, the severity of the infections has been mild, with many patients being either asymptomatic or recovering at home. Currently the focus has shifted from the host of organ damage related to the infection to potential side effects of the vaccine. Myocarditis has been reported as one of the potential side effects from the mRNA vaccine, affecting young healthy individuals. Up to September 30, 2021, 1.243 cases of myocarditis after vaccination with BNT162b2 Comirnaty© were registered in young adults by the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute in Germany alone. The exact pathophysiology and the risk factors for myocarditis following vaccination remain unclear. We present a case series of eight patients with cardiac symptom shortly after SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination (BNT162b6, Biontech, Comirnaty© or mRNA-1237 Moderna, Spikevax©). PATIENTS AND METHODS Eight patients between 13 and 56 years of age, vaccinated with either BNT162b2 or mRNA-1273 mRNA vaccine between January and August 2021 developed cardiac side effects shortly after either their first or second dose of the vaccine. Clinical data were retrieved from the clinical information system and analyzed. To support diagnosis of myocarditis or pericarditis, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed shortly after the onset of symptoms, with further investigations in severe cases. Symptoms were defined as dyspnea, chest pain and cardiac arrhythmia as determined by electrocardiography. RESULTS Eight patients (5 males and 3 females) developed cardiac symptoms compatible with myocarditis, according to the CDC criteria, shortly after SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination. Three patients (2 males, 1 female) required hospitalization due to severe chest pain and elevated troponin levels. All patients recovered fully within 7 days from the symptom onset. CONCLUSIONS Our data suggest that cardiac adverse events such as myocarditis or pericarditis shortly after SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination are rare but possible and occur particularly in male patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Recent media reports of myocarditis after receiving COVID-19 vaccines, particularly the messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines, are causing public concern. This review summarizes information from published case series and case reports, emphasizing patient and disease characteristics, investigation, and clinical outcomes, to provide a comprehensive picture of the condition. METHODS A systematic literature search of PubMed and Google scholar was conducted from inception to April 27, 2022. Individuals who develop myocarditis after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of the type of vaccine and dose, were included in the study. RESULTS Sixty-two studies, including 218 cases, participated in the current systematic review. The median age was 29.2 years; 92.2% were male and 7.8% were female. 72.4% of patients received the Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2) vaccine, 23.8% of patients received the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine (mRNA-1273), and the rest of the 3.5% received other types of COVID-19 vaccine. Furthermore, most myocarditis cases (82.1%) occurred after the second vaccine dose, after a median time interval of 3.5 days. The most frequently reported symptoms were chest pain, myalgia/body aches and fever. Troponin levels were consistently elevated in 98.6% of patients. The admission ECG was abnormal in 88.5% of cases, and the left LVEF was lower than 50% in 21.5% of cases. Most patients (92.6%) resolved symptoms and recovered, and only three patients died. CONCLUSION These findings may help public health policy to consider myocarditis in the context of the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To combine spontaneously reported data from multiple countries to estimate reporting rate, and better understand risk factors for myocarditis and pericarditis following COVID-19 messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines. DESIGN Systematic review of spontaneously reported data from UK, USA and European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) and of the scientific literature. DATA SOURCES UK Yellow Card scheme, Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), EudraVigilance were searched from date of vaccine launch to 14 March 2022-16 March 2022. PubMed/MEDLINE and Embase were searched to 15 March 2022. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA We included publicly available spontaneous reporting data for 'Myocarditis' and 'Pericarditis' from UK, USA and EU/EEA following COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. Pharmacoepidemiological observational studies investigating myocarditis/pericarditis following mRNA COVID-19 vaccines were included (no restrictions on language or date). Critical Appraisal Skills Programme tools assessed study quality. DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS Two researchers extracted data. Events of myocarditis and pericarditis were presented for each data source, stratified by vaccine, age, sex and dose (where available). Reporting rates were calculated for myocarditis and pericarditis for each population. For published pharmacoepidemiological studies, design, participant characteristics, and study results were tabulated. RESULTS Overall, 18 204 myocarditis and pericarditis events were submitted to the UK, USA and EU/EEA regulators during the study period. Males represented 62.24% (n=11 331) of myocarditis and pericarditis reports. In the UK and USA, most reports concerned vaccinees aged <40 years (59.7% and 47.3% of reported events, respectively); trends in age were less clear for EU/EEA. Reports were more frequent following a second dose (47.1% of reports, where data available). Reporting rates were consistent between the data sources. Thirty-two pharmacoepidemiological studies were included; results were consistent with our spontaneous report analyses. CONCLUSIONS Younger vaccinees more frequently report myocarditis and pericarditis following mRNA COVID-19 vaccines than older vaccinees. Results from published literature supported the results of our analyses.

Abstract
A COVID-19 vaccine BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech) has recently been authorized for adolescents in the US. However, the impact of adverse events on adolescents after vaccination has not been fully investigated. To assess the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine in adolescents, the incidence of adverse events (AEs) in adolescents and adults was compared after vaccination. We included 6304 adolescents (68.14 per 100,000 people) who reported adverse events using vaccine adverse event reporting system (VAERS) data from 10 May 2021 to 30 September 2021. The mean age was 13.6 ± 1.1 years and women (52.7%) outnumbered men. We analyzed severe and common adverse events in response to the COVID-19 vaccine among 6304 adolescents (68.14 per 100,000 people; 52% female; mean age, 13.6 ± 1.1 years). The risk of myocarditis or pericarditis among adolescents was significantly higher in men than in women (OR = 6.61, 95% CI = 4.43 to 9.88; p < 0.001), with a higher frequency after the second dose of the vaccine (OR = 8.52, 95% CI = 5.79 to 12.54; p < 0.001). In addition, severe adverse events such as multisystem inflammatory syndromes, where the incidence rate per 100,000 people was 0.11 (n = 10), and the relative risk was 244.3 (95% CI = 31.27 to 1908.38; p < 0.001), were significantly higher in adolescents than in adults. The risk of the inflammatory response to the COVID-19 vaccine, including myocarditis, pericarditis, or multisystem inflammatory syndromes, was significantly higher in men than in women, with a higher frequency in adolescents than in adults. The inflammation-related AEs may require close monitoring and management in adolescents.

Abstract
RNA (mRNA) vaccines used to prevent COVID-19 infection may cause myocarditis. We describe a case of acute myocarditis in a 27-year-old male after receiving the second dose of a Pfizer immunization. Three days after receiving the second dose of vaccine, he had acute chest pain. Electrocardiographic examination revealed non-specific ST-T changes in the inferior leads. Troponin levels in his laboratory tests were 733 ng/L. No abnormalities were detected on his echocardiography or coronary angiography. The basal inferoseptal segment was hypokinetic. The LV EF was 50%, whereas the RV EF was 46%. Epicardial and mesocardial LGE were shown in the left ventricle's basal and mid anterolateral, posterolateral, and inferoseptal segments. The native T1 was 1265 ± 54 ms, and the native T2 was 57 ± 10 ms. Myocardial strain indicated that the baseline values for LV GLS (-14.55), RV GLS (-15.8), and RVCS (-6.88) were considerably lower. The diagnosis of acute myocarditis was determined based on the clinical presentation and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) findings.

Abstract
As of September 18th, 2021, global casualties due to COVID-19 infections approach 200 million, several COVID-19 vaccines have been authorized to prevent COVID-19 infection and help mitigate the spread of the virus. Despite the vast majority having safely received vaccination against SARS-COV-2, the rare complications following COVID-19 vaccination have often been life-threatening or fatal. The mechanisms underlying (multi) organ complications are associated with COVID-19, either through direct viral damage or from host immune response (i.e., cytokine storm). The purpose of this manuscript is to review the role of imaging in identifying and elucidating multiorgan complications following SARS-COV-2 vaccination-making clear that, in any case, they represent a minute fraction of those in the general population who have been vaccinated. The authors are both staunch supporters of COVID-19 vaccination and vaccinated themselves as well.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate cardiac MRI characteristics in patients with suspected hypersensitivity myocarditis following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination. MATERIALS AND METHODS Patients clinically suspected of acute myocarditis after COVID-19 vaccination were retrospectively analyzed and compared against a healthy control group. Cardiac MRI protocol included parameters such as T1 and T2 relaxation times, extracellular volume (ECV), T2 signal intensity ratio, and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). Lymph node size was assessed in the patient group on the injection side. Student t-test, analyses of variance (ANOVA) with Tukey post-hoc test, and χ2 test were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS 20 patients with clinically suspected post-vaccine myocarditis (28 ± 12 years; 12 men) and 40 controls (31 ± 11 years; 25 men) were evaluated. According to the 2018 Lake Louise criteria (LLC), patients with clinically suspected myocarditis were further subdivided into an LLC-positive group (n = 9) and an LLC-negative group (n = 11). The mean time of symptom onset after vaccination was 1.1 ± 1.2 days (LLC-positive) and 6.5 ± 9.2 days (LLC-negative). Group differences in inflammatory variables between myocarditis patients and control subjects were more pronounced in the LLC-positive group (e. g., T1 relaxation time: 1041 ± 61 ms [LLC positive] vs. 1008 ± 79 ms [LLC-negative] vs. 970 ± 25 ms [control]; p <.001; or T2 signal intensity ratio 2.0 ± 0.3 vs. 1.6 ± 0.3 [LLC-negative] and vs. 1.6 ± 0.3 [control], p = .012). LLC-positive patients were significantly faster in receiving an MRI after initial symptom onset (8.8 ± 6.1 days vs. 52.7 ± 33.4 days; p = .001) and had higher troponin T levels (3938 ± 5850 ng/l vs. 9 ± 11 ng/l; p <.001). LGE lesions were predominantly located at the subepicardium of the lateral wall. Axillary lymphadenopathy was more frequent in the LLC-positive group compared to the LLC-negative group (8/9 [89 %] vs. 0/11 [0 %], p < 0.001). CONCLUSION Vaccine-induced myocarditis should be considered in patients with acute symptom onset after mRNA vaccination, especially if elevated serum troponin T is observed. Imaging findings of vaccine-induced myocarditis are similar to virus-induced myocarditis, allowing for the use of the Lake Louise Criteria for diagnostic purposes. Abstract
After the surging rise in the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved emergency approval of vaccinations to prevent life-threatening complications of COVID-19 infection. These vaccines are BNT162b2, mRNA-1273. Later, the FDA also approved JNJ-78436735. COVID-19 vaccination does not have major side effects, but there are some concerning adverse events reported right after vaccination. Myocarditis is one of them. Based on our analysis of 40 case reports, we are presenting the epidemiology and clinical picture of myocarditis related to the COVID-19 vaccine. Based on our analysis, we found that the majority of cases were seen in males with 90% predominance, and these cases were seen in the age group of 29.13 years old (mean, SD of 14.39 years). In 65% of cases, patients took the BNT162b2 vaccine; 30% of cases were reported with the mRNA-1273 vaccine; and 5% of cases with JNJ-78436735. Of all the cases, 80% of them are reported after the second dose of the vaccine with either Moderna or Pfizer. The characteristics of COVID-19 vaccine-related myocarditis were analyzed in this study. We identified several findings, ranging from age, gender, type of vaccination, presentation of symptoms, and diagnosis modality. This depicts the picture of COVID-19 vaccine-related myocarditis and what physicians should expect when dealing with the disease. Our analysis showed that more cases were reported after receiving the BNT162b2 vaccine compared to mRNA-1273 and JNJ-78436735 vaccines. Further research needs to be conducted to analyze the underlying cause of this association.

Abstract
Background There are limited data on the pattern and severity of myocardial injury
in patients with COVID-19 vaccination–associated myocarditis. Purpose To describe myocardial injury following COVID-19 vaccination and to
compare these findings to other causes of myocarditis. Materials and Methods In this retrospective cohort study, consecutive adult patients with
myocarditis with at least one T1-based and at least one T2-based
abnormality at cardiac MRI performed at a tertiary referral hospital
from December 2019 to November 2021 were included. Patients were
classified into one of three groups: myocarditis following COVID-19
vaccination, myocarditis following COVID-19 illness, and other
myocarditis not associated with COVID-19 vaccination or illness. Results Of the 92 included patients, 21 (23%) had myocarditis following COVID-19
vaccination (mean age, 31 years ± 14 [SD]; 17 men; messenger
RNA–1273 in 12 [57%] and BNT162b2 in nine [43%]). Ten of 92 (11%)
patients had myocarditis following COVID-19 illness (mean age, 51 years
± 14; three men) and 61 of 92 (66%) patients had other
myocarditis (mean age, 44 years ± 18; 36 men). MRI findings in
the 21 patients with vaccine-associated myocarditis included late
gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in 17 patients (81%) and left ventricular
dysfunction in six (29%). Compared with other causes of myocarditis,
patients with vaccine-associated myocarditis had a higher left
ventricular ejection fraction and less extensive LGE, even after
controlling for age, sex, and time from symptom onset to MRI. The most
frequent location of LGE in all groups was subepicardial at the basal
inferolateral wall, although septal involvement was less common in
vaccine-associated myocarditis. At short-term follow-up (median, 22 days
[IQR, 7–48 days]), all patients with vaccine-associated
myocarditis were asymptomatic with no adverse events. Conclusion Cardiac MRI demonstrated a similar pattern of myocardial injury in
vaccine-associated myocarditis compared with other causes, although
abnormalities were less severe, with less frequent septal involvement

Abstract
COVID-19 vaccine-related myocarditis has been reported worldwide. We herein report two Japanese cases with suspected vaccine-related myocarditis. A 27-year-old man was admitted with chest pain 4 days after the second vaccination. An electrocardiogram (ECG) did not reveal any significant abnormalities. The second patient, a 37-year-old man, was admitted with chest pain 9 days after the first vaccination. His ECG exhibited ST-elevation in multiple leads. In both cases, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging findings were consistent with myocarditis. They recovered with symptomatic relief within a few days. These cases suggest that the benefit of COVID-19 vaccination exceeds the risk of vaccine-related myocarditis.

Abstract
Acute chest pain is a common presentation in patients with COVID-19. Although noninvasive cardiac imaging modalities continue to be important cornerstones of management, the pandemic has brought forth difficult and unprecedented challenges in the provision of timely care while ensuring the safety of patients and providers. Clinical practice has adapted to these challenges, with several recommendations and societal guidelines emerging on the appropriate use of imaging modalities. In this review, we summarize the current evidence base on the use of noninvasive cardiac imaging modalities in COVID-19 patients with acute chest pain, with a focus on acute coronary syndromes.

Abstract
Myocarditis is a nonischemic inflammatory disease of the myocardium that can be triggered by a multitude of events, including viral infection and toxins. Recently, there has been heightened interest in myocarditis given its association with COVID-19 vaccination. Timely identification of myocarditis can affect patient management and prognosis. Therefore, it is crucial for radiologists and cardiac imagers to understand the role of cardiac imaging to establish a diagnosis and inform treatment decisions. Cardiac MRI is the most important noninvasive imaging modality for evaluation of myocarditis, with typical findings of focal or diffuse myocardial edema and myocardial damage, including presence of late gadolinium enhancement. There are currently limited data available to indicate that the pattern of myocardial injury following COVID-19 vaccination is similar to other causes of myocarditis, although the severity of disease may be relatively mild. A description of the role of imaging and typical imaging features will be reviewed here, with a focus on emerging data in the setting of myocarditis after COVID-19 vaccination. Abstract
BACKGROUND Myocarditis is being increasingly reported as a potential complication of both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for COVID-19. One thousand five hundred and twenty-two cases were reported as of September 02, 2021, as per CDC's (Centers for Disease Control) vaccine adverse event reporting system. Most of the published data is available in the form of case reports and series. There is a need to compile the demographic data, clinical features, and outcomes in these patients. Methods: A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Web of science, and google scholar for published literature between January 01, 2020, and July 17, 2021. Individual data of 69 patients were pooled from 25 qualifying case reports and case series. RESULTS The median age of onset was 21 years. 92.7% of the patients were male. 76.8% of patients received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, and 23.2% received the Moderna vaccine. 88.5% developed symptoms after the second dose. Patients were admitted to the hospital a median of three days post-vaccination. All the patients had chest pain and elevated troponin. The myocarditis was confirmed on cardiac MRI in 87% of the patients. Most of the patients had late gadolinium enhancement on MRI. The median length of stay was four days. All the reported patients recovered and were discharged. CONCLUSION Post-mRNA vaccination myocarditis is seen predominantly in young males within a few days after their second dose of vaccination. The pathophysiology of myocarditis is not well known. The prognosis is good as all the reported patients recovered. The presence of late gadolinium enhancement on cardiac MRI indicated myocardial necrosis/fibrosis and further studies are needed to establish the long-term prognosis of the condition.
