Abstract
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy or stress cardiomyopathy (SCM), was first described in 1990 and initially, it was thought to be only associated with short-term complications and mortality with a benign long-term prognosis comparable to a healthy population. However recent investigations have proven otherwise and have shown SCM patients might have comparable long-term morbidity and mortality to ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. Many emotional, or physical stressors can trigger SCM, and have been able to describe an interplay of neurohormonal and inflammatory mechanisms as the pathophysiology of this disease. Additionally, given the significantly higher prevalence of SCM in post-menopausal women, estrogen levels have been thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of this disease. Furthermore, there is an elusive disparity in prognosis depending upon different triggers. Currently, many questions remain unanswered regarding the long-term management of these patients to reduce morbidity, mortality, and improve quality of life, such as the need for long-term anticoagulation. In this paper, we review the findings of most recent published investigations regarding etiologies, pathophysiology, diagnostic criteria, prognosis, short-term and in more detail, long-term complications of SCM. Finally, we will discuss what future research is needed to learn more about this disease to improve the long-term prognosis, even though as of now, data for long-term management is still lacking.

Abstract
The incidence of takotsubo stress cardiomyopathy (TSCM) in males is low compared with females. Gender-based differences in clinical outcomes of TSCM are not well characterized. The aim of this meta-analysis was to analyze whether gender-based differences are observed in TSCM clinical outcomes. A comprehensive literature search of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library database, and Web of Science was performed from inception to June 20, 2022, for studies comparing the clinical outcomes between male and female patients with TSCM. The primary outcome of interest was in-hospital all-cause mortality and cardiogenic shock. The secondary outcomes were cardiovascular mortality, receipt of mechanical ventilation, intra-aortic balloon pump, occurrence of ventricular arrhythmia, and left ventricular thrombus. A random-effects model was used to calculate the risk ratios (RR) and confidence intervals (CI). Heterogenicity was assessed using the Higgins I2 index. Twelve observational studies involving 51,213 patients (4,869 males and 46,344 females) were included in the meta-analysis. Male gender was associated with statistically significant higher in-hospital all-cause mortality compared with females in patients with TSCM (RR 2.17, 95% CI 1.77 to 2.67, p <0.001). The rate of cardiogenic shock was significantly higher in males with TSCM compared with females (RR 1.66, 95% CI 1.29 to 2.12, p <0.001). Our meta-analysis showed a difference in the clinical outcomes of TSCM between men and women. Male gender was associated with a two-fold greater in-hospital all-cause mortality risk compared with female gender. The higher mortality risk associated with male gender deserves further study, particularly whether it represents later recognition of the condition and disparities in treatments.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) can be described as an acute, transiently occurring form of heart failure. It typically causes systolic dysfunction of the left ventricle (LV). Perhaps what is of most significance is the reversible nature of TTS, with many patients achieving recovery within a few weeks to months. TTS can be referred to by other names, attributed to its various precipitants, as well as the structural manifestations of the syndrome. Physical and emotional stressors have been identified as the most common of causes, hence the terms 'stress cardiomyopathy' and 'broken heart syndrome'. Precipitants can range from psychological, and hormonal, to molecular mechanisms. The symptoms of TTS can coalesce with other conditions and hence give rise to many differential diagnoses. Most patients present with dyspnoea and chest pain. The latter also presents in acute coronary syndrome (ACS); thus, ACS is a common differential diagnosis for TTS. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic saw a drastic increase in mental health concerns which have persisted beyond this period. Further studies into personality disorders and their potential predisposition to COVID-19 and thus TTS would advance our understanding of the neuropsychiatric triggers of TTS. There is also a need for a single sensitive and specific diagnostic test for TTS as its diagnosis relies on the culmination of clinical presentation, echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR).

Abstract
Perioperative takotsubo cardiomyopathy (pTCM) is an increasing condition defined as cardiomyopathy in the setting of emotional and physiologic stressors imposed by surgery. We aimed to classify and understand the presentation, management, and prognosis of noncardiac surgery pTCM in published cases. As such, a review of previous studies using the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases was conducted to obtain case reports and series reporting noncardiac pTCM from inception to September 2022, and a crude analysis was conducted to classify the clinical features. Of the 1,002 studies, 96 met our inclusion criteria, of which 101 cases were extracted and included in the final systematic review. A total of 29.7% of cases occurred during general surgery and 20.8% during transplant procedures. The median age at presentation was 55 years, with a 42 to 65 interquartile range. The prevalence of hypertension and mood disorders were 22.8% and 9.9%, respectively. Before the procedures, physiologic stressors occurred more commonly than emotional stressors (20.8% and 11%, respectively). Objective findings, including ST-T-wave changes, new arrhythmias, and hypotension, were the most common initial presenting symptoms. Most cases occurred during emergence from surgery or on the first postoperative day. Mechanical circulatory support was required in 15.8% of the cases, and the all-cause in-hospital mortality was 6.9%. The ejection fraction and symptoms improved within a median of 2 weeks after diagnosis (interquartile range 1 to 6). In conclusion, the risk factors, triggers, and outcomes of pTCM appear to differ from those of classic nonperioperative TCM presentations. Future studies will help shed light on this more frequently diagnosed condition complicating some noncardiac surgical cases.

Abstract
Myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) is a heterogeneous group of clinical entities characterized by clinical evidence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with normal or near-normal coronary arteries on coronary angiography (stenosis < 50%) and without an over the alternative diagnosis for the acute presentation. Its prevalence ranges from 6% to 11% among all patients with AMI, with a predominance of young, nonwhite females with fewer traditional risks than those with an obstructive coronary artery disease (MI-CAD). MINOCA can be due to either epicardial causes such as rupture or fissuring of unstable nonobstructive atherosclerotic plaque, coronary artery spasm, spontaneous coronary dissection and cardioembolism in-situ or microvascular causes. Besides, also type-2 AMI due to supply-demand mismatch and Takotsubo syndrome must be considered as a possible MINOCA cause. Because of the complex etiology and a limited amount of evidence, there is still some confusion around the management and treatment of these patients. Therefore, the key focus of this condition is to identify the underlying individual mechanisms to achieve patient-specific treatments. Clinical history, electrocardiogram, echocardiography, and coronary angiography represent the first-level diagnostic investigations, but coronary imaging with intravascular ultrasound and optical coherent tomography, coronary physiology testing, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging offer additional information to understand the underlying cause of MINOCA. Although the prognosis is slightly better compared with MI-CAD patients, MINOCA is not always benign and depends on the etiopathology. This review analyzes all possible pathophysiological mechanisms that could lead to MINOCA and provides the most specific and appropriate therapeutic approach in each scenario.

Abstract
Age and sex differences in Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) are still a matter of debate. The present study aimed to evaluate the difference in cardiovascular (CV) risk factors, CV disease, in-hospital complications, and death within different sex-age groups. Using the National Inpatient Sample database between 2012 and 2016, 32,474 patients older than 18 years of age hospitalized with the primary diagnosis of TTS were identified. A total of 32,474 patients were enrolled; 27,611 (85.04%) were female. CV risk factors were higher in females, while CV diseases and in-hospital complications were significantly higher in males. The mortality in males was twice as high as that of female patients (9.83% versus 4.58%, p<0.01), and in the logistic regression model after adjustment for confounders, the odds ratio (OR) was 1.79, the confidence interval was 1.60-2.02, and p<0.01. After dividing the group based on age, in-hospital complications were inversely related to age in both sexes, and the length of in-hospital stay was double in the youngest group compared to the oldest one. Mortality increased progressively with age in both groups but was constantly higher in males for each age group. Multiple logistic regression analysis for mortality was performed for the two sexes separately and for the three age groups, considering the youngest one as the reference group. In females, the OR was 1.59 and 2.88, respectively, for groups 2 and 3; for males, the OR was 1.92 and 3.15, all of them statistically significant (p<0.01). In-hospital complications were more common in younger patients with TTS, particularly in males. Mortality was positively correlated with age for both sexes, but mortality was higher in males compared to females in all age groups.

Abstract
Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has had a great impact on patients’ physical problems as well as psychological status. However, there is limited data about the impact of psychological problems on cardiac function during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between mental health disorders and subclinical early myocardial systolic dysfunction by left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LVGLS) imaging in patients recovered from COVID-19. Methods Of the 108 participants, 71 patients had recovered from COVID-19; the members of the study group were prospectively recruited to the study after COVID-19 recovery. Comparisons were made with a risk-factor matched control group (n=37). The psychological status of the subjects, namely, Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21), and the Impact of Events Scale (IES-R) at follow-up visits, were assessed via questionnaire forms. The relationship between the psychological parameters and LVGLS values was subsequently evaluated. Results Overall, 45.0% of patients with COVID-19 had some degree of anxiety after recovery. A significant negative correlation was found between LVGLS and DASS-21 total score, DASS-21 anxiety subscale score, IES-R total score, and IES-R intrusion subscale score (r= -0.251, p=0.02; r= -0.285, p=0.008; r= -0.291, p=0.007; and r= -0.367, p=0.001, respectively). Furthermore, the DASS-21 total score was identified as an independent predictor of LVGLS (β= -0.186, p=0.03). Conclusions Patients who suffered from the COVID-19 disease may have experienced psychological distress symptoms due to COVID-19, which may be associated with silent impairment in myocardial systolic functions measured by global longitudinal strain analysis.

Abstract
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC) is a reversible cardiomyopathy mimicking an acute coronary syndrome, usually observed in response to acute stress situations. The association between acute ischemic stroke and TC is already known, since it has been previously reported that ischemic stroke can be both a consequence and a potential cause of TC. However, the precise pathophysiological mechanism linking the two conditions is still poorly understood. The aim of our review is to expand insights regarding the genetic susceptibility and available specific biomarkers of TC and to investigate the clinical profile and outcomes of patients with TC and stroke. Since evidence and trials on TC and stroke are currently lacking, this paper aims to fill a substantial gap in the literature about the relationship between these pathologies.

Abstract
AIMS Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is an acute reversible cardiac dysfunction that may occur during the peri-operative period and among patients with serious illness. We aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics, peri-operative management, and prognosis of peri-operative TTS (pTTS) and explore the factors associated with pTTS. METHODS We conducted a retrospective nested case-control study using the database of patients who underwent in-hospital non-cardiac surgeries between January 2017 and December 2020 in Peking University Third hospital. Cases were adult patients diagnosed TTS at discharge who were matched with four controls based on operative types. Multivariable conditional logistic regression was used to identified the factors associated with pTTS. The area under the curve (AUC) was used to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy. RESULTS Among the 128 536 patients underwent non-cardiac surgery, 20 patients with pTTS and 80 patients without were enrolled in this study. The incidence of pTTS was about 0.016% in our centre. The median age of patients with pTTS was 52.5 (38.25, 76.25) years, although 90% of them were female. Fifty per cent (9 cases) of female patients were pre-menopausal. Caesarean section has the highest proportion of pTTS (30% of the pTTS cases) with the incidence of caesarean section-related pTTS of 0.06% in our centre. A high prevalence of non-apical ballooning pattern of regional wall motion abnormality (seven cases, 35%) and a high mortality (two cases, 10%) were observed. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of patients with pTTS was significantly decreased (41.7 ± 8.8%). In the acute phase, supportive treatments aiming to reduce life-threatening complications were main treatment strategies. After receiving systematic treatment, significant improvements were observed in LVEF (63.1 ± 13.5%), with median recovery time of LVEF of 7.48 days. Leucocyte count [odds ratio (OR): 4.59; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.10-19.15], haemoglobin (HGB) (OR: 10.52; 95% CI: 1.04-106.36), and the revised cardiac risk index (RCRI) score (OR: 6.30; 95% CI: 1.05-37.88) were the factors significantly associated with pTTS. The RCRI score performed poorly in the prediction of pTTS (AUC: 0.630; 95% CI: 0.525-0.735). After adding leucocyte count and HGB into the RCRI score, the AUC was significantly improved (AUC: 0.768; 95% CI: 0.671-0.865; P = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Patients with pTTS have some differences compared with common TTS, including higher proportion of pre-menopausal female, higher prevalence during caesarean section, higher prevalence of non-apical ballooning pattern of regional wall motion abnormality, and higher mortality. The RCRI score performed poorly in the evaluation of pTTS. Adding HGB and leucocyte count into the RCRI score could significantly improve its predictive performance.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is identified as an acute severe ventricular systolic dysfunction, which is usually characterized by reversible and transient akinesia of walls of the ventricle in the absence of a significant obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD). Patients present with chest pain, ST-segment elevation or ischemia signs on ECG and increased troponin, similar to myocardial infarction. Currently, the known mechanisms associated with the development of TTS include elevated levels of circulating plasma catecholamines and their metabolites, coronary microvascular dysfunction, sympathetic hyperexcitability, inflammation, estrogen deficiency, spasm of the epicardial coronary vessels, genetic predisposition and thyroidal dysfunction. However, the real etiologic link remains unclear and seems to be multifactorial. Currently, the elusive pathogenesis of TTS and the lack of optimal treatment leads to the necessity of the application of experimental models or platforms for studying TTS. Excessive catecholamines can cause weakened ventricular wall motion at the apex and increased basal motion due to the apicobasal adrenoceptor gradient. The use of beta-blockers does not seem to impact the outcome of TTS patients, suggesting that signaling other than the beta-adrenoceptor-associated pathway is also involved and that the pathogenesis may be more complex than it was expected. Herein, we review the pathophysiological mechanisms related to TTS; preclinical TTS models and platforms such as animal models, human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocyte (hiPSC-CM) models and their usefulness for TTS studies, including exploring and improving the understanding of the pathomechanism of the disease. This might be helpful to provide novel insights on the exact pathophysiological mechanisms and may offer more information for experimental and clinical research on TTS.

Abstract
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is characterised by left ventricular apical ballooning, in the absence of coronary artery disease, and classically occurs at times of intense stress. Due to the striking preponderance of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy occurring in postmenopausal women, it has been postulated that female sex hormones may also be implicated in its pathogenesis. This case report describes the first case of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy associated with the initiation of dydrogesterone (a synthetic retroprogesterone) in a premenopausal woman.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome is an acute reversible heart failure syndrome, most frequently seen in postmenopausal women and precipitated generally by significant emotional stress or physical illness. A sudden sympathetic activation seems to play a key role in the pathophysiology, but growing evidence is emerging about the role of inflammation in the subacute and chronic phases. An incidence of life-threatening complications occurring in the acute phase and at long-term follow-up has been demonstrated, comparable with the acute coronary syndrome. Multimodality imaging could be useful to stratify in-hospital and long-term prognosis. The efficacy of specific medical treatments in long-term follow-up should be investigated.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TS) is a rare but dangerous disease that can be fatal. The pathogenesis of TS is not well understood because there is no animal model of TS that fully mimics TS. It has now been documented that stress exposure (24 h) of rats induced the state which is similar TS in human: contracture damage of myofibrils, elevation of the serum creatine kinase MB level, increased 99mTc-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) accumulation in the heart, QTc interval prolongation, and contractility dysfunction of the heart. Immobilization stress resulted in an increase in coronary blood flow. Emotional stress increased the serum catecholamine level. Blockade of β1-adrenergic receptor (AR) prevented stress-induced cardiac injury (SICI). Blockade of β2-AR aggravated stress-induced cardiac injury. Stimulation of β2-AR increased cardiac tolerance to stress. Inhibition of β3-AR, α1-AR had no effect on SICI. Blockade of peripheral muscarinic receptors or α2-AR aggravated SICI. Pretreatment with the selective β1-AR antagonist atenolol attenuates stress-induced cardiac contractility dysfunction, but recovery of cardiac contractility is not complete. There is indirect evidence that circulating catecholamines play an important role in SICI. Consequently, the activation of β1-AR plays a significant role in SICI. However, there are other receptors which are also involved in SICI and require further investigation.

Background Mental health illnesses are associated with frequent hospitalisation and an increased risk of all-cause mortality. Despite the high prevalence of depression in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), there is a paucity of data on this subject from low and middle-income countries (LMIC). The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms in patients attending a dedicated CHF clinic. Methods A prospective study was conducted at an outpatient heart failure clinic in a tertiary academic centre. The study participants completed a Depression, Anxiety and Stress (DASS-21) questionnaire to screen for the presence and severity of depression, anxiety and stress symptoms. Furthermore, the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ) was completed and used to evaluate the impact of CHF on health-related quality of life (QoL). Descriptive statistics were used to describe patients' characteristics and logistic regression analysis to identify predictors of symptoms of depression. Results The study population comprised of 103 patients, predominantly female (62.1%) with a median age of 53 (interquartile range 38–61) years. Symptoms of depression were reported by 52.4%, with 11.6% reporting symptoms suggestive of extremely severe depression. Anxiety was diagnosed in 53.4% of patients and extremely severe anxiety was reported by 18.4% of patients. Fifty patients were classified as stressed, and only 7.7% had extremely severe stress. More than half of the patients (54.4%) were in New York Heart Association functional class I. The mean left ventricular ejection fraction in the entire cohort was 30% (SD = ± 11.1%). In the multivariable logistic regression model, the MLHFQ score [odds ratio (OR) 1.04, 95% CI:1.02–1.06, p = 0.001] and the six-minute walk test [OR 0.99, 95% CI: 0.98–0.99, p = 0.014] were identified as independent predictors of depression. Conclusion Depression and anxiety symptoms were found in over half of patients attending the CHF clinic. We recommend that mental health screening should be routinely performed in patients with CHF. Prospective, adequately powered, multicentre studies from LMIC investigating the impact of depression, anxiety and stress on CHF outcomes such as health-related QoL, hospitalisation and mortality are required.

Abstract
Women have been reported to be more vulnerable to the development, prognosis and mortality of cardiovascular diseases, yet the understanding of the underlying mechanisms and strategies to overcome them are still relatively undeveloped. Studies show that women's brains are more sensitive to factors affecting mental health such as depression and stress than men's brains. In women, poor mental health increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, and conversely, cardiovascular disease increases the incidence of mental illness such as depression. In connection with mental health and cardiovascular health, the presence of gender differences in brain activation, cortisol secretion, autonomic nervous system, vascular health and inflammatory response has been observed. This connection suggests that strategies to manage women's mental health can contribute to preventing cardiovascular disease. Mind-body interventions, such as meditation, yoga and qigong are forms of exercise that strive to actively manage both mind and body. They can provide beneficial effects on stress reduction and mental health. They are also seen as structurally and functionally changing the brain, as well as affecting cortisol secretion, blood pressure, heart rate variability, immune reactions and reducing menopausal symptoms, thus positively affecting women's cardiovascular health. In this review, we investigate the link between mental health, brain activation, HPA axis, autonomic nervous system, blood pressure and immune system associated with cardiovascular health in women and discuss the effects of mind-body intervention in modulating these factors.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) has been a recognized clinical entity for 31 years, since its first description in 1990. TTS is now routinely diagnosed in patients who present with acute chest pain, electrocardiographic changes, troponin elevation, unobstructed coronary arteries, and a typical pattern of circumferential left ventricular wall motion abnormalities that usually involve the apical and midventricular myocardium. Increasing understanding of this intriguing syndrome stems from wider recognition, possible increasing frequency, and a rising number of publications focused on the pathophysiology in clinical and laboratory studies. A comprehensive understanding of TTS pathophysiology and evidence-based treatments are lacking, and specific and effective treatments are urgently required. This paper reviews the pathophysiology of this fascinating syndrome; what is known from both clinical and preclinical studies, including review of the evidence for microvascular dysfunction, myocardial beta-adrenergic signaling, inflammation, and electrophysiology; and where focused research needs to fill gaps in understanding TTS.

Abstract
First recognized in 1990, takotsubo syndrome (TTS) constitutes an acute cardiac condition that mimics acute myocardial infarction commonly in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease; it is characterized by temporary left ventricular dysfunction, regularly in a circumferential apical, midventricular, or basal distribution. Considering its acute clinical presentation, coronary angiography with left ventriculography constitutes the gold standard diagnostic tool to exclude or confirm TTS. Frequently, TTS is related to severe emotional or physical stress and a subsequent increased adrenergic stimulation affecting cardiac function. Beyond clinical presentation, epidemiology, and novel diagnostic biomarkers, this review draws attention to potential pathophysiological mechanisms for the observed reversible myocardial dysfunction such as sympathetic overdrive-mediated multi-vessel epicardial spasms, microvascular dysfunction, the direct toxicity of catecholamines, lipotoxicity, and inflammation. Considering the long-term prognosis, further experimental and clinical research is indispensable to elucidate further pathophysiological mechanisms underlying TTS before randomized control trials with evidence-based therapeutic management can be performed.

Abstract
The coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) caused by the novel coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has rapidly developed into a global pneumonia pandemic. Cardiovascular disease is the major comorbidity of COVID-19 patients and is closely related to the severity of COVID-19. SARS-CoV-2 infection can directly or indirectly cause a series of cardiac complications, including acute myocardial injury and myocarditis, heart failure and cardiac arrest, arrhythmia, acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and coagulation abnormalities. Intensive research on the SARS-CoV-2-associated cardiovascular complications is urgently needed to elucidate its exact mechanism and to identify potential drug targets, which will help to formulate effective prevention and treatment strategies. Hence, this review will summarize recent progress regarding the effects of COVID-19 on the cardiovascular system and describe the underlying mechanism of cardiovascular injury caused by SARS-CoV-2.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome(TTS) is attributed to catecholamine surge, which is also observed in COVID-19 disease due to the cytokine storm. We performed a systematic literature search using PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials retrospectively to identify COVID-19-associated TTS case reports and evaluated patient-level demographics, laboratory markers clinical attributes, treatment given, and outcomes. There are 27 cases reported of TTS associated with COVID-19 infection of which 44.5% were male. Reported median age was 57 years (IQR: 39-65) and 62.95 years (IQR: 50.5-73.5) in case series and individual patients' cases in database, respectively. The time interval from the symptom onset to TTS diagnosis was median 6.5 days (IQR: 1.0-8.0) in case series and 6.7 days (IQR: 4-10) in individual patients' database. The median LVEF was 36% (IQR: 35-37) and 38.15%(IQR: 30-42.5%-[male: 40.33% (IQR: 33-44.2)] and female [37.15% (IQR: 30-40)] in case series and individual-patients' database, respectively. Troponin was elevated in all patients except one patient. 77.2% patients of TTS with COVID-19 had an elevated C-reactive protein and/or D-dimer. Twelve out of 22 (54.5%) patients developed cardiac complication such as cardiogenic-shock, atrial fibrillation, acute heart failure, supraventricular tachycardia, and biventricular heart failure. Nineteen out of 26 (73.07%) patients were discharged, and three were hospitalized due to acute respiratory distress syndrome and needed extracorporeal membrane oxygenation or ongoing maternal age. There were 4 (14.8%) mortality. There was no major gender difference observed in development of TTS in COVID-19 unlike COVID-19 per se. Older median age group for TTS in COVID-19 patients irrespective of cardiovascular comorbidities and gender probably reflects age as an independent risk factor. Patients who developed TTS had higher mortality rate especially if they developed cardiogenic shock.

Abstract
The purpose of the review is the analysis of clinical and experimental data on the etiology and pathogenesis of takotsubo syndrome (TS). TS is characterized by contractile dysfunction, which usually affects the apical region of the heart without obstruction of coronary artery, moderate increase in myocardial necrosis markers, prolonged QTc interval (in 50% of patients), sometimes elevation of ST segment (in 19% of patients), increase N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide level, microvascular dysfunction, sometimes spasm of the epicardial coronary arteries (in 10% of patients), myocardial edema, and life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias (in 11% of patients). Stress cardiomyopathy is a rare disease, it is observed in 0.6 - 2.5% of patients with acute coronary syndrome. The occurrence of takotsubo syndrome is 9 times higher in women, who are aged 60-70 years old, than in men. The hospital mortality among patients with TS corresponds to 3.5% - 12%. Physical or emotional stress do not precede disease in all patients with TS. Most of patients with TS have neurological or mental illnesses. The level of catecholamines is increased in patients with TS, therefore, the occurrence of TS is associated with excessive activation of the adrenergic system. The negative inotropic effect of catecholamines is associated with the activation of β2 adrenergic receptors. An important role of the adrenergic system in the pathogenesis of TS is confirmed by studies which were performed using 125I-metaiodobenzylguanidine (125I -MIBG). TS causes edema and inflammation of the myocardium. The inflammatory response in TS is systemic. TS causes impaired coronary microcirculation and reduces coronary reserve. There is a reason to believe that an increase in blood viscosity may play an important role in the pathogenesis of microcirculatory dysfunction in patients with TS. Epicardial coronary artery spasm is not obligatory for the occurrence of TS. Cortisol, endothelin-1 and microRNAs are challengers for the role of TS triggers. A decrease in estrogen levels is a factor contributing to the onset of TS. The central nervous system appears to play an important role in the pathogenesis of TS.

Abstract
The presented data show that tacotsubo syndrome (TS) is characterized by the absence of coronary artery obstruction, cardiac contractile dysfunction, apical ballooning, and heart failure, and in some patients, ST-segment elevation and prolongation of the QTc interval. Every tenth patient with TS develops ventricular arrhythmias. Most of TS patients have elevated markers of necrosis (troponin I, troponin Т, and creatine kinase МВ (CK-МВ), which are considerably lower than in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with ST-segment elevation. The level of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), in contrast, is considerably higher in patients with TS than with AMI. Differential diagnosis of TS and AMI should be based on a multifaceted approach using coronary angiography, echocardiography, analysis of ECG, magnetic resonance imaging, single-photon emission computed tomography, and measurement of troponins, CK-MB, and NT-proBNP.

Abstract
Background Takotsubo syndrome (TTS), also known as stress cardiomyopathy, apical ballooning syndrome and broken heart syndrome, is characterized by acute-onset chest pain, electrocardiographic (ECG) abnormalities and reversible left ventricular (LV) disfunction in the absence of a culprit obstructive lesion in the coronary arteries; therefore, myocardial infarction is the most important differential diagnosis. Usually induced by emotional/physical stress, its treatment consists in hemodynamic support until complete and spontaneous recovery occurs, which is generally achieved within a few days to weeks. Cervical malignancies are an important public health issue in low/middle-income countries and, in the setting of locally advanced disease, concurrent chemoradiation followed by brachytherapy is considered the standard treatment, harboring curative potential. Case report We report a case of a 38-year-old woman who underwent concurrent chemoradiotherapy and developed cardiopulmonary arrest in ventricular fibrillation during a brachytherapy session. Complementary tests disclosed altered ECG and cardiac biomarkers, no evidence of coronary artery obstruction, as well as LV disfunction consistent with TTS on echocardiogram and cardiac MRI. After few days of supportive therapy, complete recovery of heart function was observed. Conclusions Especially for cancer patients, who usually experience intense emotional/physical stress intrinsically associated with their diagnosis and aggressive treatments, considering TTS as a differential diagnosis is warranted. Intracavitary brachytherapy procedure may represent a trigger for TTS.

Abstract
The transitional impact scale (TIS) was developed to measure the quality and quantity of changes brought about by transitional events. The aim of the present study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the TIS. Study 1 investigated the validity and internal consistency of the TIS among 445 participants (aged 18-73 years) who completed the TIS, beck anxiety inventory (BAI), centrality of event scale (CES), impact of event scale-revised (IES-R), and post-traumatic growth inventory. Study 2 investigated the test-retest reliability of the TIS among 140 university students (70 female; 70 male) who completed a retest of the TIS after a 2-week interval. The two-factor structure (i.e., material change and psychological change) of the TIS proposed by Svob et al. (2014) was confirmed in different age and socioeconomic status groups of a Turkish sample. The TIS was significantly correlated with the BAI, CES, and IES-R. Finally, the TIS had a high test-retest reliability.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TS) is a condition of transient cardiac dysfunction that develops in the setting of abrupt sympathetic stimulation. Although classically identified by ballooning of the apical segment, TS can also present in atypical forms with abnormalities of the basal, mid-ventricular, or other focal segments. In the perioperative setting, anaesthetic effects and physiologic perturbations from surgery can further confound the diagnosis. We present a narrative review of the most recent evidence for underlying pathophysiologic mechanisms of the variable ballooning patterns and highlight important anaesthetic considerations in the diagnosis and management of these patients.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TS) is an acute cardiac condition characterized by transient wall motion abnormalities mostly of the left ventricle. First described in 1990, TS has gained substantial attention during the past 15 years. However, the disease is still underdiagnosed. Prospective studies on TS are largely lacking, and the condition remains incompletely understood. In addition, significant misconceptions and misunderstandings are evident, contributing to potentially severe underestimation. Here, we review important aspects of TS with a focus on pitfalls, misinterpretations, and knowledge gaps considered important during diagnosis and management of the disease.

The clinical expert consensus statement on takotsubo syndrome (TTS) part II focuses on the diagnostic workup, outcome, and management. The recommendations are based on interpretation of the limited clinical trial data currently available and experience of international TTS experts. It summarizes the diagnostic approach, which may facilitate correct and timely diagnosis. Furthermore, the document covers areas where controversies still exist in risk stratification and management of TTS. Based on available data the document provides recommendations on optimal care of such patients for practising physicians.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a poorly recognized heart disease that was initially regarded as a benign condition. Recently, it has been shown that TTS may be associated with severe clinical complications including death and that its prevalence is probably underestimated. Since current guidelines on TTS are lacking, it appears timely and important to provide an expert consensus statement on TTS. The clinical expert consensus document part I summarizes the current state of knowledge on clinical presentation and characteristics of TTS and agrees on controversies surrounding TTS such as nomenclature, different TTS types, role of coronary artery disease, and etiology. This consensus also proposes new diagnostic criteria based on current knowledge to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a recently identified cardiac disease, which is far from being completely known. The aims of this narrative review are to provide a better understanding of the pathophysiological features of TTS and to update clinical findings in order to improve the management of subjects affected by this syndrome (according to the most recent consensus papers issued by the international scientific societies). We based our search on the material obtained via PubMed up to April 2019. The terms used were "Takotsubo Syndrome and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy" in combination with "heart failure, pathophysiology, complications, diagnosis, and treatment." TTS is a reversible form of ventricular dysfunction usually characterized by akinesia of the apex in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease. In its initial phase, TTS may be indistinguishable from AMI and is usually triggered by a sudden emotional/physical stressor which abruptly increases catecholamine levels. However, the mechanisms by which catecholamines or other unidentified molecules can cause myocardial dysfunction is unknown. In-hospital stay may be hampered by various life-threatening complications, while data on long-term survival remain scarce and unclear. Furthermore, TTS may sometimes recur. We believe that TTS is clearly a much more complex condition than previously thought. Much remains to be discovered about its pathophysiologic mechanisms, the role of the link between the heart and brain and that of triggering factors and gender, and the reasons why this syndrome displays different phenotypes and sometimes recurs. Undoubtedly, preliminary evidence from pathophysiological studies (mainly genetic studies) has shown promising advances. However, prospective randomized clinical trials are still needed in order to identify and to tailor the best medical treatments for TTS patients.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome is an intriguing condition of often stress induced reversible cardiac dysfunction mimicking myocardial infarction, but without explanatory coronary obstructions. The pathogenesis of the syndrome is not yet fully understood, though altered sympathetic regulation or response to cardiac sympathetic stimuli is likely to be involved. We present a unique and clinically detailed report of identical twin sisters, who both developed Takotsubo syndrome in association to mental stress shortly after menopause, also covering a potential relapse of disease in one of the twins, supporting the theory of a genetic contribution to the development of the syndrome proposed by previous case reports and small genetic studies.

Abstract
Transient Left Ventricular Apical Balloon Syndrome (LV-ABS) is an acute dysfunction of the left ventricle. Its clinical feature is similar to myocardial infarction. The echocardiogram show characteristic finding which is different from that of myocardial infarction. LV-ABS is rare, however, should be considered after liver transplantation. Proper diagnosis is important to restore cardiac function although it improve almost normally with conservative treatment.
Introduction Transient Left Ventricular Apical Balloon Syndrome (LV-ABS) is an unknown acute dysfunction of the left ventricle, which develops under emotional or physical stress events like the major surgical postoperative period. Presentation of case A 68-year-old woman diagnosed with hepatitis C cirrhosis was admitted for living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). No evidence for underlying cardiac or pulmonary disease was found. LDLT was performed, and her intra and post-operative course was uneventful. On post-operative day 4, dyspnea and tachycardia were observed. Echocardiography showed a severe wall motion abnormality with ballooning of the apex with normal basilar wall motion and a severely impaired left ventricular function with an ejection fraction (EF) of 40%. Blood tests showed greatly increased level of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT- pro BNP). Evidence of significant ischemic heart disease was not obtained and a transient LV-ABS was diagnosed. Although she required intensive care, her cardiac function became normal by conservative treatment. Discussion Transient LV-ABS has been reported to occur more frequently in post-menopausal women with reduced estrogens reported to protect myocardium from sympathetic stress after mental or physical stress events. It has been suggested that this disease arises from myocardial stunning with high levels of circulating catecholamines and stress related neuropeptides. However, even in a serious condition, cardiac function has recovered normally in all cases by appropriate care. Conclusion Transient LV-ABS is one cause of cardiac dysfunction after LDLT, and it is important to strictly manage cardiac function when diagnosed as transient LV-ABS.

Abstract
Background. Though several studies about prevalence, etiology, clinical characteristics, preceding events, clinical management, and outcome of Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) exist, the current knowledge of TTC remains limited. Objective. In 2006, TTC was classified among the acquired forms of cardiomyopathy. On the basis of pathophysiological implications, we analyzed whether the presence of ST-segment elevation in lead -aVR (i.e., ST-segment depression in aVR) and the simultaneous absence of ST-segment elevation in lead V1 allow a reliable differentiation of TTC from acute anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). A further investigative feature is the seasonal variation of TTC. Since acute cardiovascular events exhibit definite chronobiological patterns, various small studies have tried to evaluate whether this is also the case for TTC. Because results are conflicting, we also conducted a multicenter study and analyzed the findings in context with a systematic overview of available studies. Methods. We compared the ECG patterns of 115 patients with TTC, who were admitted to five large acute cardiac care centers associated with university hospitals in Southwestern Germany between January 2001 and June 2011, with those of 100 patients with acute anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated in one of these centers. In addition, we performed a computer-assisted MEDLINE search of the literature from January 2000 to September 2011 and analyzed the chronobiological patterns of available TTC cases, including our TTC cohort. Results. Testing the predefined diagnostic criteria was superior to any other electrocardiographic finding and differentiated TTC from anterior STEMI with a sensitivity of 73%, a specificity of 84%, a positive predictive value of 63%, and a negative predictive value of 89%. Beyond that, the onset of TTC showed a clear variation as a function of season and month. While events occurred most frequently during summer (38.4%, p < 0.01), the event rate was the lowest in autumn (16.4%) and winter (21.9%). Chronobiological analyses on a monthly basis identified a significant annual rhythmic pattern in TTC, which peaked in August (11.9%; p < 0.01) and had its nadir in November (6.3%). Conclusions. Our data illustrate that the ST-segment changes in leads aVR and V1 represent a simple and accurate ECG criterion to differentiate TTC from anterior STEMI in patients who are admitted within 12 h of symptom onset. Similarly, the results of our seasonal analysis indicate a distinct chronobiological variation in TTC occurrence. TTC, thereby, differs from major acute cardiovascular diseases, especially acute myocardial infarction (AMI), which is characterized by winter peaks and troughs in summer. If these results are confirmed in large independent cohorts, they may yield diagnostic implications, changing the regular invasive AMI management in TTC patients.

Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is common among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a transient cardiac disorder that, in its typical form, involves left ventricular dysfunction with apical ballooning and mimics acute coronary syndrome (ACS). “Bronchogenic TTS” has been proposed as a specific form of TTS (during severe acute dyspnea in asthma or COPD) with atypical presentation. Recurrent TTS in COPD seems to be exceptionally rare since only a handful of clinical cases have previously been reported in the literature. Here, we present a unique case of a frequently recurrent TTS during COPD exacerbation in a 70-year-old woman, with at least 4 different episodes of TTS within 5 years. This case report exemplifies the difficulties of the diagnosis of TTS at the onset of acute COPD exacerbation. Potential pathophysiological mechanisms and therapeutic strategies are also briefly discussed.

Abstract
Sex differences in the study of the human physiological response to mental stress are often erroneously ignored. To this end, we set out to show that our understanding of the stress response is fundamentally altered once sex differences are taken into account. This is achieved by comparing the heart rate variability (HRV) signals acquired during mental maths tests from ten females and ten males of similar maths ability; all females were in the follicular phase of their menstrual cycle. For rigor, the HRV signals from this pilot study were analyzed using temporal, spectral and nonlinear signal processing techniques, which all revealed significant statistical differences between the sexes, with the stress-induced increases in the heart rates from the males being significantly larger than those from the females (p-value = 4.4 × 10−4). In addition, mental stress produced an overall increase in the power of the low frequency component of HRV in the males, but caused an overall decrease in the females. The stress-induced changes in the power of the high frequency component were even more profound; it greatly decreased in the males, but increased in the females. We also show that mental stress was followed by the expected decrease in sample entropy, a nonlinear measure of signal regularity, computed from the males' HRV signals, while overall, stress manifested in an increase in the sample entropy computed from the females' HRV signals. This finding is significant, since mental stress is commonly understood to be manifested in the decreased entropy of HRV signals. The significant difference (p-value = 2.1 × 10−9) between the changes in the entropies from the males and females highlights the pitfalls in ignoring sex in the formation of a physiological hypothesis. Furthermore, it has been argued that estrogen attenuates the effect of catecholamine stress hormones; the findings from this investigation suggest for the first time that the conventionally cited cardiac changes, attributed to the fight-or-flight stress response, are not universally applicable to females. Instead, this pilot study provides an alternative interpretation of cardiac responses to stress in females, which indicates a closer alignment to the evolutionary tend-and-befriend response.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The detailed pathomechanism of Takotsubo syndrome (TS) is still elusive. Due to the predominance of postmenopausal females, a potential role of sex hormones has been suggested. However, the limited available data are contradictory. The aim of this study was to comprehensively assess the role of sex hormone levels in a large cohort of TS patients. METHODS Serum samples of 57 female TS patients and 57 female patients with myocardial infarction (MI), matched for age (±2years) and repolarization disturbances were analyzed for estradiol (E2), estrone (E1), testosterone and androstenedione using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. RESULTS There was no difference concerning the concentrations of E1 [pmol/l (IQR): 89.1 (62.5, 132.0) vs. 98.8 (63.3, 156.0), p=0,441], testosterone [nmol/l (IQR): 0.67 (0.46, 1.00) vs. 0.80 (0.49, 1.08), p=0.382] and androstenedione [nmol/l (IQR): 2.03 (1.57, 3.11) vs. 2.98 (1.48, 5.27), p=0.244] between female TS and MI patients. Regarding E2, the majority of patients demonstrated concentrations below the detection limit of 30pmol/l (TS: n=41/54, 75.9%; MI: n=32/53, 60.4%; p=0.078). The remaining individuals with detectable E2 concentrations did not show a significant difference between TS and MI patients [pmol/l (IQR): 40.5 (33.0, 53.3) vs. 54.1 (37.9, 60.9); p=0.20]. CONCLUSIONS Altered sex hormone levels, especially an estradiol deficiency, could not be identified as a risk factor for TS.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a poorly recognized heart disease that was initially regarded as a benign condition. Recently, it has been shown that TTS may be associated with severe clinical complications including death and that its prevalence is probably underestimated. Since current guidelines on TTS are lacking, it appears timely and important to provide an expert consensus statement on TTS. The clinical expert consensus document part I summarizes the current state of knowledge on clinical presentation and characteristics of TTS and agrees on controversies surrounding TTS such as nomenclature, different TTS types, role of coronary artery disease, and etiology. This consensus also proposes new diagnostic criteria based on current knowledge to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Abstract
RATIONALE The typical symptoms of stress cardiomyopathy include sudden-onset chest pain and breathlessness or collapse as well as classical symptoms of cardiovascular disease; however, rare reports have described nervous system symptoms as the initial manifestation. Here, we report the case of a young man who presented with a large cerebral infarction as the main clinical symptom of stress cardiomyopathy to increase recognition of the disease. PATIENT CONCERNS A 28-year-old man was admitted to our hospital for sudden-onset weakness of the right limbs and unconsciousness for 1 day. Ten days prior, he began consuming copious amounts of alcohol (500 mL/day) secondary to reactive depression. DIAGNOSES Imaging revealed a left internal carotid artery occlusion as assessed by carotid artery ultrasonography. Brain magnetic resonance imaging/magnetic resonance angiography showed new large left cerebral infarction complicated by a reperfusion injury. Moreover, cardiac ultrasonography showed decreased motion of the left ventricular apex, a 3.7 cm mural thrombus in the ventricular apex. The results of coronary and renal artery angiography did not reveal any significant epicardial coronary disease with thrombolysis in the myocardial infarction grade 3 in any of the coronary arteries. INTERVENTIONS The patient was administered antiplatelet, anticoagulation, antihypertension, antibiotic, and neurotrophic therapies. OUTCOMES The symptoms of cerebral infarction improved significantly after 12 days of admission. Cardiac ultrasonography showed that the wall movement of the left ventricular apex had recovered fully and the mural thrombus resolved completely. LESSONS Patients with stress cardiomyopathy exhibit various clinical manifestations and characteristics. On the basis of our in-depth understanding of stress cardiomyopathy, clinicians should diagnose early and develop reasonable and effective therapies to prevent the harmful effects of related complications.

Abstract
Takotsubo syndrome (TS) is characterized by severe reversible left ventricular (LV) wall motion abnormality in the absence of explanatory coronary lesion. Despite an increasing number of patients diagnosed with TS worldwide, there are no randomized clinical trials. In mild cases, no treatment or a short course of limited anticoagulation therapy may be sufficient. Positive inotropic and vasodilating agents should be avoided. In severe cases with refractory cardiogenic shock, early treatment with mechanical support using venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation or a LV assist device should be considered.

Abstract
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) is a unique type of cardiomyopathy characterised by left ventricular systolic dysfunction in association with stressful conditions. Patients with this condition usually present with chest pain and dyspnoea, and the presentation can mimic acute coronary syndrome. We present a case of a woman aged 58 years who presented with progressive dyspnoea and cough. Her initial evaluation was suggestive of acute myocardial infarction with elevated serum troponin T and ST segment elevation. Her chest radiograph showed a large right-sided pneumothorax, which was treated with chest tube insertion. Coronary angiography and echocardiogram did not show any evidence of obstructive coronary artery disease but did show a large area of akinesis consistent with TCM. The patient was managed medically with supportive care. Her pneumothorax resolved, and her follow-up echocardiogram also showed improvement. The association between pneumothorax and TCM is rare, and only four other cases have been reported so far in the English literature.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a syndrome of transient cardiac dysfunction that is frequently associated with sudden emotional or physical stress. Epinephrine use has been implicated in precipitating Takotsubo cardiomyopathy in multiple case reports and case series. We sought to systematically review the current English literature on this association. METHODS We searched relevant articles on Takotsubo cardiomyopathy associated with epinephrine administration and extracted data on demographic characteristics, clinical features, investigations and clinical outcomes. RESULTS We identified total of 41 cases from 36 articles. The mean age of presentation was (47.07±15.73years) with strong female preponderance (83%, P=0.0001). The most common symptom at presentation was chest pain (82%). Mean peak troponin I level was (7.12±11.22ng/ml). The most common EKG abnormality was ST elevation, seen in 40% of patients. The most common finding on echocardiography was apical hypokinesis, seen in 48.78% cases. Patients younger than 45 were less likely to have apical cardiomyopathy (n=5/20, 25%) compared to patients with age >45 (n=14/21, 66%, p value 0.001, OR 0.17). The most common route of administration of epinephrine was intravenous (65.85%). All patients except one survived with complete recovery of systolic function reported in most cases within an average of 14.7days. CONCLUSION Exposure to epinephrine in clinical practice can trigger Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, which is rapidly reversible with good prognosis in most cases. This review further supports the notion that both exogenous and endogenous catecholamines are associated with the pathogenesis of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

Abstract
We report the history and new insights of takotsubo syndrome based on the achievements that Japanese researchers have contributed and summarize the evidence originally presented from Japan. Takotsubo syndrome is a newly described heart failure characterized by transient left ventricular dysfunction. We should be aware of this entity as a syndrome, not actual cardiomyopathy. Japanese researchers focus on the experimental approaches for clinical diagnosis and treatment of takotsubo syndrome. As representatives from a country originally naming this syndrome takotsubo, a global registry for takotsubo syndrome including Japan should be established.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC) is characterized by a transient decrease in ejection fraction and a reversible left ventricular dysfunction. The pathophysiology of TC is not completely understood. Heterogeneous and multifactorial mechanisms are involved: drugs, emotional and physical stress, genetic and hormonal factors. CASE PRESENTATION A 17 year-old male with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma, under chemotherapy containing 5-fluorouracil, presented severe left ventricular dysfunction requiring mechanical ventilation and inotropes administration. He completely recovered in 2 weeks. CONCLUSION To our knowledge this is the first report of transient form of ventricular dysfunction, mimicking TC, in an adolescent. We believe that children and adolescents receiving 5-fluorouracil should be closely monitored and referred for investigation if they develop cardiac symptoms.

Abstract
In 2006, Takotsubo syndrome (TTC) was described as a distinct type of stress-induced cardiomyopathy (stress cardiomyopathy). However, when thinking about Takotsubo cardiomyopathy from the viewpoints of the AHA and ESC classifications, 2 possible problems may arise. The first potential problem is that a forecast of disease outcome is lacking in the ESC classification, whereas the AHA only states that 'outcome is favorable with appropriate medical therapy'. However, based on the literature data, one can make a general conclusion that occurrence of myocardial lesions in TTC (i.e., myocardial fibrosis and contraction-band necrosis) causes the same effects as in other diseases with similar levels of myocardial damage and should not be considered to have a lesser impact on mortality. To summarise, TTC can cause not only severe complications such as pulmonary oedema, cardiogenic shock, and dangerous ventricular arrhythmias, but also damage to the myocardium, which can result in the development of potentially fatal conditions even after the disappearance of LV apical ballooning. The second potential problem arises from the definition of TTC as a stress cardiomyopathy in the AHA classification. In fact, the main factors leading to TTC are stress and microvascular anginas, since, as has been already discussed, coronary spasm can cause myocardium stunning, resulting in persistent apical ballooning. Thus, based on this review, 3 distinct types of stress cardiomyopathies exist (variant angina, microvascular angina, and TTC), with poor prognosis. Adding these diseases to the classification of cardiomyopathies will facilitate diagnosis and preventive prolonged treatment, which should include intensive anti-stress therapy.
