Abstract
BACKGROUND Despite widespread use of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB), there are no standardized limb lengths in the United States. METHODS A multi-center retrospective cohort study was conducted from 2020 to 2023. Eligible patients who had undergone RYGB were divided into subgroups based on BP limb lengths: short (50-75 cm), intermediate (80-125 cm), and long (150-175 cm). Primary outcomes were total weight loss (TWL) and % TWL at 1 and 2 years. Secondary outcomes were post-operative BMI and % BMI change at 1 and 2 years, micronutrient deficiencies, hypothyroidism, acute kidney injury (AKI) requiring treatment, and remission in associated medical problems. Subgroups were compared using multivariate analysis. RESULTS Two hundred twenty-eight patients received a long BP limb, 194 patients received an intermediate BP limb, while 152 patients received a short BP limb. Primary outcomes TWL and % TWL were significantly different between the groups at 1 year: TWL and % TWL were greater in patients with long BP limbs. The difference between the long and short BP limb groups increased at the 2-year mark. Patients who had long BP limbs had higher rates of DM remission (12.3% vs 11.9% 6.6%), HTN (8.8% vs 5.7% vs 7.9%), GERD symptoms (14.5% vs 9.8% vs 5.3%), and OSA (8.8% vs 7.7% vs 5.3%). Vitamin A deficiency rates were higher in the long BP limb group. CONCLUSIONS The results suggest that longer BP limb lengths are conducive to TWL and overall treatment of obesity-related problems without severe rates of complications. Additional longer longitudinal studies are needed to assess the impact of long BP limbs on nutrition and weight loss in the long term.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Clinical care pathways help guide and provide structure to clinicians and providers to improve healthcare delivery and quality. The Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee (QIPS) of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) has previously published care pathways for the performance of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) and pre-operative care of patients undergoing Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB). OBJECTIVE This current RYGB care pathway was created to address intraoperative care, defined as care occurring on the day of surgery from the preoperative holding area, through the operating room, and into the postanesthesia care unit (PACU). METHODS PubMed queries were performed from January 2001 to December 2019 and reviewed according to Level of Evidence regarding specific key questions developed by the committee. RESULTS Evidence-based recommendations are made for care of patients undergoing RYGB including the pre-operative holding area, intra-operative management and performance of RYGB, and concurrent procedures. CONCLUSIONS This document may provide guidance based on recent evidence to bariatric surgeons and providers for the intra-operative care for minimally invasive RYGB.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Small bowel length (SBL) may have an impact on the outcomes of bariatric surgeries, but it can be difficult to make a direct association between SBL and the safety and outcome of bariatric surgeries. OBJECTIVES To address this issue, we set out to devise a predictive model for SBL determination based on clinical and anthropometric variables. SETTING An academic tertiary medical center. METHODS Anthropometric and clinical data, including age, sex, height, weight, and past medical history, were collected upon enrollment. SBL was measured twice during the surgery using a marked grasper. In all cases, measurements were carried out by a single surgeon. To create a predictive model, a 2-step approach was employed. In the first step, linear regression was used to determine influential variables. In the second step, all variables with a P value < .2 were entered into a multivariate regression model. RESULTS Overall, 961 bariatric candidates were enrolled. The mean age of the participants was 40.08 years, and 77.5% (n = 745) were female. The mean SBL was 748.90 centimeters. There was a weak but statistically significant positive correlation between SBL with both weight and height. Our univariate linear model determined only anthropometric parameters as a predictor of SBL. The multivariate model also yielded that none of the entered parameters were shown to be accurate predictors of SBL. Moreover, only 4.3% of variances were explainable by this model. CONCLUSION Although we found a weak positive association between height and SBL, this association lacked clinical practicality.

Abstract
Background The surgical procedure One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) has become widely used worldwide. Since its inception, many modifications have been introduced to improve results. Objectives The primary aim of this study was to share the modifications that we have introduced to our OAGB technique after reflecting on the problems and complications we have faced during the evolution of this procedure in our unit. Method A total of 850 patients who underwent OAGB under the same surgical team at two different hospitals in the United Kingdom were displayed according to demography and comorbidities. All complications were reviewed and analysed to instigate the changes in our technique. Results There were 756 (89%) primary and 94 (11%) revisional procedures. There were 596 females (70.11%) and 254 males (29.89%) in our study group. The body mass index range was 32-84 and the mean was 45. The pre-operative weight range was 89-274 kg and the mean was 126.4 kg. Conclusions With experience and reflecting on our complications we have modified our surgical approach, and these alterations have helped us to adopt OAGB as the mainstream bariatric procedure. We want to share our experience with the bariatric community for the benefit of patient care.

Variation of limb lengths in primary RYGB and as a revisional option for weight recurrence after RYGB are described in this review.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is a widely performed procedure worldwide especially with the presence of associated medical conditions. Patients with body mass index (BMI) 40-50 kg/m2 are at more risk of weight regain and relapse of comorbidities. There is a controversy on the optimum alimentary (AL) and biliopancreatic (BPL) limb lengths to be used in RYGB to achieve weight loss and remission of comorbidities without causing nutritional deficiencies in those patients. STUDY DESIGN hundred-and-fifty patients with BMI between 40 and 50 kg/m2 were divided equally into 2 groups undergoing standard RYGB (S-RYGB) with AL:150 cm and BPL: 50 cm and long biliopancreatic RYGB (L-RYGB) with AL: 100 cm and BPL: 100 cm. BMI, % of total weight loss (%TWL), effect on diabetes (DM), hypertension (HTN), dyslipidemia, and nutritional statuses were recorded at 1, 2, and 3 years. RESULTS Only 64/75 patients in S-RYGB and 57/75 patients in L-RYGB completed the study. L-RYGB had faster weight loss, higher %TWL, and less BMI than S-RYGB with the maintenance of achieved weight. L-RYGB had better control of DM and dyslipidemia than S-RYGB. There were no significant differences in nutritional status between S-RYGB and L-RYGB rather than lower levels of calcium and Hb and higher levels of PTH in L-RYGB yet they remain within the normal range. CONCLUSION The application of L-RYGB helps in achieving faster weight loss for a longer period with better remission of associated comorbidities as DM, HTN, and dyslipidemia in patients with BMI 40-50 kg/m2 but with effects on the nutritional status.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to explore the effects on type 2 diabetes, gastrointestinal hormones, and adipokines after the small intestinal bypass of different biliopancreatic limb (BPL) lengths in non-obese type 2 diabetic rats. METHOD Small intestinal bypass with the BPL length at 10cm, 20cm, 30cm, and 40cm, respectively, and sham surgery were performed in non-obese GK rats. Fasting serum was collected at 2 days preoperatively and 1, 3, 6, and 9 weeks postoperatively. Body weight and fasting blood glucose (FBG) were measured during the experiment. Glycated hemoglobin (GHb), fasting insulin (FINS), C-peptide, ghrelin, leptin, adiponectin, and somatostatin were measured postoperatively. RESULT Rats with a bypassed length of 40cm died within 5-9 weeks. No statistically significant was observed in body weight between the sham group and the bypass groups at the 9th week postoperatively. FBG, GHb, FINS, C-peptide, and HOMA-IR in the bypass groups were lower than those in the sham group postoperatively and were negatively correlated with BPL length. Ghrelin and leptin declined compared with preoperative but were not associated with BPL length. Adiponectin of the bypass groups increased after operation and was positively correlated with BPL length. Somatostatin remained stable among groups during the experiment. CONCLUSION Ghrelin and leptin of non-obese GK rats decreased postoperatively without a linear relationship with the BPL length, while adiponectin increased with positively correlation with the BPL length. In addition, somatostatin remained steady after small intestinal bypass. Further studies are expected to confirm the effect of the BPL length of small intestinal bypass on gastrointestinal hormones and adipokines.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Although laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is still widely accepted as a valid procedure in the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), there continues to be a significant controversy about how long the Roux and biliopancreatic limb should be bypassed for optimum results. AIM To assess the effect of a longer biliopancreatic limb (BPL) length on glycemic control after RYGB in T2DM patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS Eighty-four patients with uncontrolled T2DM who underwent RYGB between May 2010 and April 2017 were collected from the prospectively designed database. Forty patients (S-BPL group) received BPL lengths ≤ 50 cm, including 30 cm (n = 1), 40 cm (n = 1), and 50 cm (n = 38). Forty-four patients (L-BPL group) received 100 cm BPL. Anthropometry, serum glucose and lipid metabolic parameters were measured at baseline and 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 and 36 months after surgery. RESULTS Comparing the two groups, there were no significant differences in anthropometric and biochemical measures, except the weight and body mass index, which were higher in the S-BPL group (85.91 ±20.32 vs. 76.25 ±16.99, p = 0.038; 31.87 ±6.61 vs. 28.7 ±4.29, p = 0.005) compared to the L-BPL group. The body weight, glucose and lipid metabolic parameters decreased over time and then remained essentially stable from the first year in both groups. Two years after surgery, the remission (HbA1c% ≤ 6%) of T2DM was 31.2% in the S-BPL group and 37.5% in the L-BPL group (p = 0.685). CONCLUSIONS With consistent total small bowel bypass (AL + BPL) lengths, lengthening of the BPL from 30 to 100 cm did not affect the post-RYGB glycemic control and weight loss.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is one of the safe and easily reproducible bariatric procedures. AIM To evaluate the effect of biliopancreatic limb (BPL) and alimentary limb (AL) length on weight loss outcomes after RYGB. MATERIAL AND METHODS This retrospective cohort study included 313 morbidly obese patients who underwent primary laparoscopic RYGB 2009-2015. Patients' BPL and AL lengths were categorized into three groups: group 1 (BPL: 50 cm and AL: 150 cm), group 2 (BPL: 150 cm and AL: 50 cm), and group 3 (BPL: 100 cm and AL: 100 cm). Data were provided from the Iranian National Obesity Surgery Database. The generalized estimating equations method was used to assess the effect of limbs length on %excess weight loss (%EWL). RESULTS Mean ± standard deviation age and body mass index (BMI) of 252 patients were 38.55 ±10.24 years and 45.8 ±4.77 kg/m2, respectively. Totally, 172 (68.3%, BMI of 46 ±5 kg/m2), 48 (19%, BMI of 45.12 ±4.26 kg/m2), and 32 (12.7%, BMI of 45.43 ±4.23 kg/m2) were in group 1, 2, and 3, respectively (p = 0.44). The results showed that the choice of different limb lengths had no significant effect on %EWL over 12 months follow-up (p = 0.625) adjusted for baseline BMI (p = 0.25). Mean %EWL in the patients with longer BPL and shorter AL was 5.43% (1.91, 8.95) higher in comparison to the patients with shorter BPL and longer AL during 36 months postoperatively adjusted for baseline BMI (p = 0.002). CONCLUSIONS During 12 months after RYGB, %EWL was not associated with BPL or AL length. However, during 36 months postoperatively, the patients with longer BPL had a significantly higher %EWL in comparison to the patients with shorter BPL.

Abstract
Background One-anastomosis/mini-gastric bypass (OAGB/MGB), as a popular bariatric surgery method, has many advantages; however, the biliopancreatic limb length (BPL) in this surgery is under debate. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of BPL on weight-loss outcome after OAGB/MGB. Materials and Methods A retrospective cohort study was performed on 653 patients who underwent OAGB/MGB with adjusted BPL based on preoperative body mass index (BMI) and patient's age, between 2010 and 2015 with 12-month follow-ups. Weight-loss outcomes and complications were analyzed in these patients, considering BPL. Results Weight, age, sex, and type 2 diabetes mellitus were the most contributory predictors as independent predictors of 12-month excess weight loss, respectively, and BPL was the least contributory predictor. Conclusion Tailoring BPL in OAGB/MGB based on patient's age and preoperative BMI seems to have acceptable results.

Abstract
A 72-year-old female patient who was admitted for ischaemic stroke had developed ascending cholangitis. Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram was performed to drain the infected bile, but this was complicated by haemorrhagic shock and hepatic haematoma. Mesenteric angiogram showed right hepatic artery (RHA) pseudoaneurysm which was embolised, there by stopping her bleeding. RHA is normally located posterior to common bile duct (CBD). An uncommon location of RHA is anterior to CBD, which can lead to haemorrhagic complications during percutaneous cholangiogram.

Abstract
Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, the most commonly performed procedure in bariatric surgery, still lacks a consensus on whether alimentary limb length (ALL) influences weight loss. Studies were identified by searching multiple electronic databases. Studies with enough data including body mass index (BMI) loss and percent excess weight loss (% EWL) were eligible. The statistical analysis was performed with Stata 14.0. In total, eight studies with 1714 patients were included. The meta-analysis suggested that short ALLs weakened the efficacy of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in terms of BMI loss (standard mean deviation (SMD), - 0.33 [95% confidence intervals (CI), - 0.60, - 0.05], p = 0.021) with 3 years of follow-up and % EWL (SMD, - 0.17 [95% CI, - 0.31, - 0.04], p = 0.013) with 2 years of follow-up. The subgroup analysis demonstrated that the group with a BMI ≥ 50 kg/m2 had a significant SMD between the use of short and the standard ALLs (- 0.71 [95% CI, - 1.07, - 0.35], p = 0.000), while the subgroup with a BMI < 50 kg/m2 (SMD, - 0.29 [95% CI, - 0.78, 0.20], p = 0.247) did not. Compared with a standard ALL (130-150 cm), a short ALL (40-100 cm) may reduce the efficacy of the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, while a long ALL (170-250 cm) did not significantly improve the effects in terms of BMI loss and % EWL. In addition, a potential view of the meta-analysis indicated patients with a BMI < 50 kg/m2 might get more benefits with a short ALL, while those patients with a BMI ≥ 50 kg/m2 might benefit more from a standard ALL.

Abstract
Obesity and its associated comorbidities have become one of the largest challenges for health care in the near future. Conservative therapy for obesity and related comorbidities has a very high failure rate and poor long-term results. Similarly, the conservative and medical management of the majority of metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus are only able to slow down disease progression but have no causal effect on the disease process. Obesity surgery has evolved as a highly effective therapy for severe obesity achieving long-lasting weight loss. Furthermore, several studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of obesity surgery on reduction of overall mortality, reduction of cardiovascular events and superior control of obesity-related diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and also the non-alcoholic steatohepatitis compared to medical therapy. Based on these findings, the term 'metabolic surgery' with the focus on treating metabolic diseases independent of body weight has been coined. Of great interest are recent studies that show that even existing complications of metabolic diseases such as diabetic nephropathy or the non-alcoholic steatohepatitis can be reversed by metabolic surgery. Although metabolic surgery has proven to be a safe and effective treatment for obesity, resolution of comorbidities and enhancing quality of life, it is still uncertain and unclear, which surgical procedure is the most effective to achieve these metabolic effects. The aim of this review is to compare the effects of the two currently most widely used metabolic operations, the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and the sleeve gastrectomy in the treatment of obesity and its related comorbidities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Several studies have been investigated to find the long-term effect of bariatric surgery on weight loss; nevertheless, a meta-analysis can detailedly demonstrate the effect of bariatric surgery on weight in morbidly obese patients. This study aimed to assess the long- and very long-term effects of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB), laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGB), and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) on weight loss in adults. METHODS An electronic search using PubMed, Scopus, and Google scholar databases was performed for all English-language articles up to May 15, 2016 with no publication date restriction. Outcome was long-term (≥5-10 years) and very long-term (≥10 years) weight reduction that reported as the mean %EWL and changes in BMI from baseline. RESULTS Eighty articles with 87 arms were included in this meta-analysis. The excess weight loss percentage (%EWL) was 47.94% and 47.43% after LAGB at ≥5 and ≥10 years, respectively. After LRYGB the %EWL was 62.58% at ≥5 years and 63.52% at ≥10 years. It was 53.25% at ≥5 years after LSG. Results of subgroup analyses have indicated that LRYGB leads to higher %EWL in America and Asia compared with Europe. Meta-regression analyses have shown that there is no significant association between %EWL and baseline age, BMI and length of follow-up after three procedures. However, there is a positive association between gender and %EWL after LRYGB (β = 1.24). No publication bias was found. CONCLUSIONS These findings suggest that LRYGB is an effective procedure in morbidly obese patients that leads to sustainable weight loss over the long- and very long-term periods in compared with LAGB and LSG.

Abstract
Introduction: Glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) is a gastrointestinal hormone whose effects are predominantly trophic on the intestinal mucosa. Aim: Critically evaluate the current literature on the influence of bariatric/metabolic surgery on the levels of GLP-2 and its potential clinical implications. Method s: Narrative review through online research on the databases Medline and Lilacs. There were six prospective human studies, two cross-sectional human studies, and three experimental animal studies selected. Results: There is evidence demonstrating significant increase in the levels of GLP-2 following gastric bypass, Scopinaro operation, and sleeve gastrectomy. There are no differences between gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy in regards to the increase in the GLP-2 levels. There is no correlation between the postoperative levels of GLP-2 and the occurrence of adequate or insufficient postoperative weight loss. Conclusion: GLP-2 plays significant roles on the regulation of nutrient absorption, permeability of gut mucosa, control of bone resorption, and regulation of satiety. The overall impact of these effects potentially exerts a significant adaptive or compensatory effect within the context of varied bariatric surgical techniques.

Abstract
Background: The role of gut hormones in glucose homeostasis and weight loss achievement and
maintenance after bariatric surgery appears to be a key point in the understanding
of the beneficial effects observed following these procedures. Aim: To determine whether there is a correlation between the pre and postoperative
levels of both GLP-1 and GLP-2 and the excess weight loss after Roux-en-Y gastric
bypass (RYGB). Methods: An exploratory prospective study which enrolled 11 individuals who underwent RYGB
and were followed-up for 12 months. GLP-1 and GLP-2 after standard meal tolerance
test (MTT) were determined before and after surgery and then correlated with the
percentage of excess loss (%EWL). Results: GLP-2 AUC presented a significant postoperative increase (945.3±449.1
vs.1787.9±602.7; p=0.0037); GLP-1 AUC presented a non-significant trend towards
increase after RYGB (709.6±320.4 vs. 1026.5±714.3; p=0.3808). Mean %EWL was
66.7±12.2%. There was not any significant correlation between both the pre and
postoperative GLP-1 AUCs and GLP-2 AUCs and the %EWL achieved after one year. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between the pre and postoperative levels of
the areas under the GLP-1 and GLP-2 curves with the percentage of weight loss
reached after one year.

Abstract
CONTEXT Bariatric surgery is an effective method to reduce morbid obesity. Nutritional counseling is essential to achieve maximal treatment success and to avoid long-term complications. Increased dietary protein intake may improve various postoperative results. OBJECTIVE The aim of this systematic review is to examine the relationship between intake of dietary protein or supplementation with amino acids and postoperative outcomes after gastric bypass surgery. DATA SOURCES A systematic literature search was conducted in 4 electronic databases: Cochrane, Embase, PubMed, and Scopus. STUDY SELECTION The initial search retrieved 7333 hits, which included 2390 duplicates. DATA EXTRACTION Tweny-three studies with varying study designs, interventions, and outcomes were included. RESULTS Studies did not provide convincing evidence of a beneficial effect on any postoperative outcome. CONCLUSIONS The study of the influence of protein and its amino acid composition represents an important developing domain of knowledge and warrants further attention considering the popularity of bariatric surgery. Future studies should include a clear description of the quantity and composition of proteins and amino acids in the diet or supplement.

There is currently no consensus on the combined length of small bowel that should be bypassed as biliopancreatic or alimentary limb for optimum results with Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. A number of different limb lengths exist, and there is significant variation in practice amongst surgeons. Inevitably, this means that some patients have too much small bowel bypassed and end up with malnutrition and others end up with a less effective operation. Lack of standardisation poses further problems with interpretation and comparison of scientific literature. This systematic review concludes that a range of 100-200 cm for combined length of biliopancreatic or alimentary limb gives optimum results with Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in most patients.

A short or a long Roux limb in gastric bypass surgery: does it matter? Surg Endosc 2016; 31:1882-1890. Abstract
BACKGROUND The Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) still remains the gold standard in bariatric surgery. However, no consensus exists on the optimal limb lengths to induce maximum weight reduction. The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of a longer alimentary limb (AL) length on weight reduction after RYGB. METHODS A retrospective analysis of a prospectively collected database of patients who underwent a primary laparoscopic RYGB between January 2001 and March 2011 was performed. Patients received a short AL (SAL; 100 cm) or a long AL (LAL; 150 cm). Primary outcome was weight loss, and secondary outcomes were short- and long-term complication rates. RESULTS A total of 768 patients received a RYGB during the study period. Of these, 730 consecutive patients were included for long-term analysis and had a mean follow-up (FU) of 37 ± 26 [range 0-120] months; 360 (47 %) patients received a SAL RYGB. Overall %TBWL was 33 ± 9 % after 2 years (FU 74 %) and 28 ± 12 % after 5 years (FU 20 %). No significant differences in %TBWL were found between SAL RYGB and LAL RYGB during the study period. The 30-day mortality rate was 0.13, 9 % overall short-term complication rate and 19 % cumulative long-term complication rate. No differences in complications were found between SAL and LAL RYGB patients. CONCLUSION Lengthening of the alimentary limb from 100 to 150 cm did not affect post-RYGB weight loss. Overall complication rates were low and comparable in this series of RYGB patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Roux-en-Y gastric bypass improves glucose metabolism in clinical practice, and duodenal-jejunal bypass (DJB), an experimental bypass procedure, also improves metabolism in animals. However, the mechanism remains controversial; especially, the role of the biliopancreatic limb (BP-limb) remains unclear. Our aim was to examine the importance of the function of the BP-limb after DJB using a novel operative model. METHODS Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty rats with diabetes were divided into the following groups: DJB with a short alimentary limb (A-limb) and long BP-limb (B-DJB group), DJB with jejunectomy (J-DJB group) in which the entire length of the jejunum used for the BP-limb of the B-DJB group was excised; and a sham operation group. Glucose tolerance, plasma bile acid levels, and the gut microbiota were assessed postoperatively. RESULTS Glucose tolerance was improved and weight gain was suppressed after surgery in the B-DJB group. In contrast, these effects were cancelled in the J-DJB group. The plasma levels of bile acids in the B-DJB group were greater than those in other groups. The analysis of gut microbiota showed distinct differences between the B-DJB and other groups; especially, the relative abundance of genus Bifidobacterium was much higher in the B-DJB group. CONCLUSION The BP-limb played an important role in the control of weight gain, glucose tolerance, and increased plasma bile acid levels after DJB in this rat model of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Plasma bile acids and gut microbiota may be involved in these processes.

Abstract
Nearly one million Brazilians were morbidly obese in 2013. Bariatric surgery is an option for sustained weight loss, and the Brazilian Unified National Health System (SUS) had provided 50,000 such procedures as of 2014. The SUS database does not provide anthropometric and comorbidity data on these patients, so the aim of the current study was to perform a systematic review to assess the profile of SUS patients that underwent bariatric surgery from 1998 to 2014. The MEDLINE, LILACS, SciELO, and Scopus databases were searched, and the methodological quality of the included articles was assessed. Of the 1,591 identified studies, 39 were selected, 95% of which were observational. Patients had a mean age of 41.4 years and mean body mass index of 48.6kg/m2; 21% were males, 61% hypertensive, 22% diabetics, and 31% presented sleep apnea. When compared to international study samples, SUS patients showed similar a anthropometric profile and comorbidities but higher prevalence of hypertension. The studies' low methodological quality suggests caution in interpreting the results.
