Abstract
Background Most cavernous malformations (CM) usually involve the parenchyma and rarely occur in cranial nerves. Recurrence of CM associated with cranial nerves after surgical resection has not been previously reported. Case description This paper describes the case of an 11-year-old girl who presented with left otalgia and headache because of a left trigeminal cavernous malformation. She underwent radical resection via a left retrosigmoid approach while sparing the trigeminal nerve. Surveillance imaging at 18 months demonstrated recurrence along the length of the trigeminal nerve into Meckel's cave with significant extension into the middle cerebellar peduncle. Subsequent re-operation via an extended middle fossa approach with anterior petrosectomy enabled complete resection with division of the trigeminal nerve. Postoperatively, she had a transient left facial paresis, and right hemiparesis that resolved within 48 h. Conclusion This case highlights the importance of close postoperative surveillance in CM associated with cranial nerves as recurrence after nerve-sparing resection is possible. Surgical treatment due to the morphology of significant recurrence required the use of a complex skull base approach through a new corridor to achieve optimal clinical outcome.

Abstract
Cavernoma is the second most common cerebrovascular lesion. Cavernoma involving the cranial nerves is very rare. Only 15 cases of cavernoma presenting with trigeminal neuralgia (TN) have been previously reported. Here, we report a rare case of cavernoma manifesting with TN. A young female patient with a 15-day history of right-sided lancinating pain in the face, difficulty in opening the mouth, and hearing dysesthesia. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a well-demarcated lesion in the cerebellopontine angle related closely to the root of the trigeminal nerve. The initial impression was that of a neurinoma. The lesion was surgically resected via the retrosigmoid approach, postoperative pathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of cavernoma, and the patient's pain and difficulty in opening the mouth resolved completely. We presented the 16th documented case of cavernoma with TN. Although cavernoma involving the trigeminal nerve is extremely rare, this diagnosis should be taken into consideration when a lesion in the cerebellopontine angle is detected on MRI, and the clinical manifestation is consistent with that of secondary TN. Specialized MRI sequences, such as susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI), gradient echo T2, and constructive interference in steady-state (CISS)-weighted imaging, aid in establishing the diagnosis. Resection via craniotomy may be the primary management strategy for cavernoma causing TN. In addition, gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS) and percutaneous balloon compression (PBC) may ameliorate the pain to some extent.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Intradural, extra-axial cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) are rare entities and are mostly reported in relation to the optic apparatus or the facial/vestibulocochlear complex. Cranial nerve CCMs tend to follow a clinically aggressive course, with a tendency to progressive neurological dysfunction following intra-lesional haemorrhage or less commonly due to the effects of subarachnoid haemorrhage. CASE PRESENTATION We report the first case of a trigeminal CCM presenting in a child with otalgia and left-sided headaches. The patient was initially managed with radiological surveillance but required surgical management following deterioration. We describe the successful treatment of the lesion with microsurgical resection. CONCLUSION A CCM should be considered in the differential diagnosis of mass lesions arising in the region of the trigeminal nerve. Surgical resection is recommended to prevent neurological deterioration and may result in significant symptomatic improvement.

Abstract
Capillary hemangiomas (CHs) of the central nervous system represent a rare diagnosed pathology. CHs are benign vascular tumors whose most common manifestations are dermal and mucous and mainly occur during childhood or adolescence, while the involvement of the central nervous system can occur in a wider age range. We conducted a PubMed research on literature published until March 2020. We only enrolled cases with histological documented presence of intracranial CH. For every case collected, we analyzed age, sex, localization, neuroimaging studies performed, the presence of extracranial CHs, symptoms, neurological deficits, extent of surgical resection (biopsy, partial or gross total), adjunct treatment received (radiotherapy, chemotherapy, Trans-Arterial Embolization TAE), and outcome. Up to March 2020, the literature review identified 52 cases to which we added the case of our personal experience. The mean age was 26 with slightly female prevalence (28 F, 25 M). The most common presenting symptom was headache (21 cases, 40%). The surgical treatment consisted of biopsy in 7 cases (13%), partial resection in 10 cases (19%), gross total resection in 31 cases (58.5%), biopsy followed by total resection in 2 cases (3%), and partial resection followed by total resection in 1 case (1.5%), and the diagnosis was obtained from an autopsy sample in 1 case (1.5%). For symptomatic lesions, surgery is a valid option to obtain histological characterization, neurological improvement, and where possible a total resection. Stereotactic radiotherapy can be used if the lesion is not surgically approachable or as an adjuvant treatment in case of partial resection, having shown good results in terms of long-term disease control.

Abstract
We describe a case of sporadic cavernous malformation (CM) in a patient suffering from multiple hemorrhagic intracranial lesions, including one originating from the trigeminal nerve (TN). The patient presented with left side facial pain and disturbed right limb movement. The patient was pre-operatively diagnosed with multiple cerebral CMs. This diagnosis was confirmed by postoperative pathology.

Abstract
Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a debilitating but treatable disease. Classic TN has referable vascular compression of the trigeminal nerve, but rarely secondary sources of anatomic compression will present, including vascular malformations, aneurysms, or tumors. Understanding the etiology of the patients' symptoms leads to targeted treatment. Three patients presented with symptoms consistent with TN: shooting, paroxysmal pains in the distribution of the trigeminal nerve. However, imaging revealed no vascular conflict at the root entry zone of the trigeminal nerve. Instead, on the affected side Meckel's cave was absent. No other compressive mass lesion was identified. In all three cases, patients were offered both Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and surgical decompression of Meckel's cave. All 3 patients elected to proceed with stereotactic radiation and reported improvement in pain. Many cases of classic TN can be explained by neurovascular conflict at the trigeminal root entry zone, but secondary sources of compression or restriction along the nerve can result in similar symptomology. In this case series, an absent or hypoplastic ipsilateral Meckel's cave may have produced symptoms consistent with TN. Imaging with fine cuts through Meckel's cave is an important diagnostic tool.

Abstract
Jugular foramen cavernous hemangiomas are extremely rare vascular malformations, and, to the best of the authors' knowledge, their occurrence as multifocal lesions involving both intra- and extracranial compartments has never been reported before. Here, the authors describe the case of a 60-year-old woman with a complex multifocal jugular foramen cavernous hemangioma. The patient presented with signs and symptoms concerning for jugular foramen syndrome, as well as a right neck mass. Surgical extirpation of the lesion was achieved by a multidisciplinary team via a right infratemporal fossa approach (Fisch type A) with concurrent high neck dissection and a closure buttressed with an autologous fat graft and a temporoparietal fascial flap. Although rare, cavernous hemangiomas should be included in the differential diagnosis of jugular foramen masses.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) related to a brainstem cavernous malformation (CM) is a rare entity. We present the first radiosurgical management of a patient with TN secondary to a CM. CLINICAL PRESENTATION An 80-year-old female presented with a 33-year history of progressively severe TN refractory to medications. Imaging confirmed a solitary CM located at the pontine dorsal root entry zone of cranial nerve 5. TREATMENT Stereotactic radiosurgery of the trigeminal nerve was performed using the Leksell gamma knife. A single 4-mm isocenter of radiation was focused on the trigeminal nerve and a maximum dose of 80 Gy (40 Gy at the 50% isodose line) was delivered to the nerve. RESULTS At 1 year, the patient noted that the severe pain attacks had been reduced by 75%, although a background lingering discomfort persisted. Pain suppression medications had been significantly reduced to lamotrigine 100 mg twice daily. Her preoperative distribution of sensory dysfunction mildly increased. CONCLUSION For medically refractory TN related to a CM, radiosurgery of the afferent nerve may ameliorate pain without a major decrease in sensation. The more than 30-year history of pain in our patient may have reduced the chance of more significant pain relief.

Abstract
Cavernous hemangiomas are not true vascular tumors, but rather are slow-flow venous malformations (VMs). They are present at birth as nonproliferating vascular birthmarks composed of anomalous ectatic venous channels. VMs have often been incorrectly called cavernous hemangiomas and cavernous angiomas. These terms have for a long time lead to confusion with the more common proliferating or true hemangioma of infancy. VM has been reported to arise at all sites including skin and subcutaneous layers of the head and neck, face, extremities, liver, gastrointestinal tract, and even the thymus. Although VMs are common intraocular tumors and are involved within intracranial, extraaxial cranial nerves within the cavernous sinus has been sporadically reported, and less often in the supraorbital nerve, an extraocular and extracranial division of the trigeminal nerve has not been reported. The authors present an extremely rare occurrence of VM involving the supraorbital nerve in an 80-year-old female.

Abstract
A 14-year-old male presented with lower lip numbness and a slowly enlarging mandibular mass. Computed tomography demonstrated an expansile lesion centered in the marrow space of the left mandibular body, extending along the course of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN), and expanding the mental foramen. Preoperative diagnosis was consistent with an IAN schwannoma. Surgical planning was performed using PROPLAN CMF software. The lesion was approached via a sagittal split osteotomy and excised en bloc with the IAN. Final pathology demonstrated a capillary hemangioma originating from the inferior alveolar nerve. Based on a detailed PubMed search, this is the first capillary hemangioma of the inferior alveolar nerve reported in the literature. Laryngoscope, 126:2168-2170, 2016.

Abstract
Angiographically occult cerebral vascular malformations (AOVMs) are usually found in the supratentorial brain parenchyma. Uncommonly, AOVMs can be found within the cavernous sinus or basal cisterns and can be associated with cranial nerves. AOVMs involving the intracranial segment of the spinal accessory nerve have not been described. A 46-year-old female patient presented with a history of episodic frontal headaches and episodes of nausea and dizziness, as well as gait instability progressing over 6 months prior to evaluation. Imaging revealed a well-circumscribed 3-cm extraaxial T1-weighted isointense and T2-weighted hyperintense contrast-enhancing mass centered in the region of the right lateral cerebellomedullary cistern. The patient underwent resection of the lesion. Although the intraoperative appearance was suggestive of a cavernous malformation, some histological findings were atypical, leading to the final diagnosis of vascular malformation, not otherwise specified. The patient's postoperative course was uneventful with complete resolution of symptoms. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of an AOVM involving the intracranial portion of the accessory nerve. For any AOVM located within the cerebellomedullary cistern or one suspected of involving a cranial nerve, the authors recommend including immunohistochemistry with primary antibody to neurofilament in the histopathology workup.

Abstract
ABSTRACT:We report a 77-year-old woman who presented with partial seizures and was found to have an enhancing dural-based parietal convexity mass. The lesion enlarged on serial examination by computed tomography (CT) over a one year period. The clinical features and radiologic appearance were compatible with a pre-operative diagnosis of meningioma; however, pathologic findings were typical of a dural cavernous hemangioma. Accumulating evidence suggests that these lesions are an uncommon but distinct type of vascular malformation most often arising from the cavernous sinus, tentorium, or cerebello-pontine angle. With CT, magnetic resonance imaging and angiography, these lesions can closely resemble meningioma in terms of signal characteristics, enhancement pattern, and location. This is of importance both in the practical management of meningiomas where the diagnosis is often based on radiologic studies alone, and in clinical trials where incorrect entry diagnosis should be avoided.

Abstract
Cavernous malformation with trigeminal neuralgia is relatively rare; only 10 cases have been reported. In deciding treatment strategies, it is helpful to classify cavernous malformation according to its origin, as follows: in the Gasserian ganglion (Type G); between the cisternal and intra-axial portions of the trigeminal nerve root (Type C); in the intra-axial trigeminal nerve root in the pons (Type P); or in the spinal tract of the trigeminal nerve root (Type S). A 62-year-old male presented with left trigeminal neuralgia (V2 area) and left facial hypoesthesia. Imaging studies revealed a cerebellopontine angle mass lesion with characteristics of a cavernous malformation and evidence of hemorrhage. The lesion was completely removed via a left anterior transpetrosal approach. The mass was attached to the trigeminal nerve root; it was located between the cisternal and intra-axial portions of the nerve root, and feeding off microvessels from the trigeminal nerve vascular plexus. Histological examination confirmed a cavernous malformation. In this case, the cavernous malformation was Type C. We review cases of cavernous malformation with trigeminal neuralgia and discuss therapeutic strategies according to the area of origin.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cavernous malformations (CMs) confined to the cranial nerves (CN) are extremely rare lesions. CASE DESCRIPTION The authors report 2 cases of CMs, one involving the trigeminal nerve presenting with a 3 years history of a refractory right trigeminal neuralgia that was microsurgically resected by a retromastoid approach with resolution of the neuralgia; and another CM involving the chiasma with an abrupt onset of vision loss with acute intralesional bleeding that was removed through a right pterional approach with vision improvement. CONCLUSION Surgical resection is recommended in the context of progressive significant neurological deficit, emergency decompression as a result of recent hemorrhage for symptomatic relief or increase in size on serial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Intracranial cavernous hemangiomas are benign vascular malformations that can be divided into intra-axial and extra-axial types. Extra-axial cavernous angiomas (or hemangiomas) are rare lesions; intracranially, they arise in relation to the dura mater or at a spinal level mimicking meningiomas. They are very rarely reported in the posterior cranial fossa. CASE REPORT The authors report a case of a cavernous angioma that occurred in the cerebellar falx of a 58-year-old man. The lesion was discovered during cranial computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations. The patient underwent surgery with en-bloc removal of the tumor. No significant intraoperative bleeding or complications occurred during the postoperative course. CONCLUSION Intra-axial and extra-axial cavernous angiomas are histopathologically identical lesions, but by the radiological features, it is very difficult to distinguish the extra-axial cavernous angiomas from meningiomas, especially when dural tail sign and calcification are present.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We report on a patient with trigeminal neuralgia caused by an extraaxial cavernous malformation (CM) located within Meckel's cave. The lesion was removed via a pterional extradural approach with a modified temporalis muscle dissection technique, which was first described by Heros and Lee. Cadaveric dissections were performed to demonstrate the wider exposure gained by this approach. METHODS A 56-year-old man presented with a history of episodic shocklike, right-sided facial pain for 10 years. Neurologic examination revealed diminished sensation in the mandibular division of the right trigeminal nerve. Magnetic resonance imaging showed an ipsilateral enhancing lesion in Meckel's cave. RESULTS After placement of a lumbar drain, a right extradural pterional approach was undertaken. By reflecting the temporalis muscle posterolaterally, the craniotomy was extended so that the line of sight was level with the floor of the middle fossa. This allowed access to the lesion without needing to remove the zygoma. The lesion was resected with microsurgical technique. The patient's pain improved significantly after resection, and histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of CM. CONCLUSIONS Extraaxial middle fossa CMs arising solely from Meckel's cave are rare. These lesions are safely and simply approached by posteriorly deflecting the temporalis muscle during a pterional craniotomy, avoiding excessive elevation of the anterior temporal lobe or further bony removal.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dural-based cavernous malformations are rare and have been more commonly described in the middle fossa. Fewer than 20 cases outside of the middle fossa have been reported and they often mimic more commonly found lesions such as meningiomas or hemangiopericytomas. CASE DESCRIPTION We describe the unusual case of a right frontal convexity dural cavernous malformation with intradural and extradural components as well as erosion through the calvarium. The patient underwent a right frontal craniotomy and en-bloc resection of the mass. Final pathologic interpretation confirmed a cavernous malformation that had eroded through the calvarium. CONCLUSION Dural-based cavernous malformations are a rare entity, but should be considered in the differential diagnosis of atypical appearing dural-based lesions and soft subgaleal masses. If atypical features are present, further radiographic investigations should be undertaken. To our knowledge, this is the only reported case of a dural-based cavernous malformation eroding through the calvarium and presenting initially as a soft scalp mass.

Abstract
Intracranial extraaxial cavernous angiomas are rare vascular malformations. Their occurrence at the geniculate ganglion of the facial nerve within the temporal bone is exceptional. The authors describe a 35-year-old man who developed a slowly progressing facial palsy. Initial cranial MR imaging showed no pathological findings, but 2 years later another MR examination detected a small tumor located at the geniculate ganglion of the facial nerve. The tumor was removed via a subtemporal approach. Histological examination revealed a cavernous angioma. Even small cavernomas located at the geniculate ganglion of the facial nerve may result in facial palsy. Isolated facial palsy in a young person should be monitored closely using imaging studies even if the initial imaging study is negative. Early decompression of the facial nerve may help to preserve its function.

Abstract
OBJECT The aim of this study was to describe the symptomatology, radiological features, and surgical treatment of patients with cavernous angiomas within the internal auditory canal (IAC). METHODS The authors reviewed the cases of seven patients with cavernous angiomas in the IAC that had been surgically treated in the 22-year period between 1983 and 2005. All the patients had presented with sensorineural hearing loss, and four suffered from tinnitus. Four patients also reported facial symptoms such as hemispasm or progressive palsy; one of these patients had presented with sudden facial paresis due to intrameatal tumor hemorrhage. According to computed tomography (CT) results, the lesions caused enlargement of the IAC. Interestingly, these same angiomas showed variable features on magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, making their differentiation from intrameatal vestibular schwannomas (VSs) sometimes impossible. In all patients the lesions were totally removed via the suboccipital retrosigmoid approach. They could be dissected away from the facial nerve in five cases, whereas in two cases, because of the location of the lesion, the seventh cranial nerve had to be sectioned and repaired with a sural nerve graft. Transient worsening of seventh cranial nerve symptoms occurred in two patients, with postoperative improvement in each of them. The cochlear nerve could not be functionally preserved because of its extreme adherence to the tumor, although its continuity was preserved in four patients. Complete deafness was the only postoperative complication. CONCLUSIONS Cavernous angiomas of the IAC are very uncommon lesions that can imitate the symptoms of VSs. Although it is the most sensitive study available, MR imaging does not show sufficiently specific findings to differentiate the two lesion types. Thus, the preoperative diagnosis must be based on patient symptoms plus the CT and MR imaging features.

Abstract
✓ Extraaxial cavernous hemangiomas are rare intracranial lesions that can be located in different cranial compartments. Extension across different tissue planes such as the subcutaneous tissue, skull, orbital cavity, intracranial dura mater, and extracranial trigeminal divisions within the same patient has not been previously reported.
This 32-year-old woman suffered left exophthalmos, left sixth nerve palsy, and trigeminal neuropathy. Magnetic resonance imaging studies revealed an extensive multicompartmental lesion, with enhancement following Gd administration.
A left orbitopterional approach allowed removal of several cavernomatous lesions located in the orbit, frontotemporal dura, and lateral wall of the cavernous sinus. A histologically based diagnosis of extraaxial cavernous hemangioma was made. In the postoperative period the patient experienced a regression of her symptoms.
The authors report on a case of cavernous hemangioma with a unique extension to different intracranial/extracranial compartments. Although radical removal of the lesion was not feasible, partial excision allowed for satisfactory clinical control of the patient's symptoms.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE AND IMPORTANCE Trigeminal neuralgia is often the result of vascular compression at the root entry zone of the trigeminal nerve. We report a case of trigeminal neuralgia in a patient with a dural arteriovenous fistula in Meckel's cave. Endovascular closure of the fistula resulted in elimination of the patient's pain at the gasserian ganglion level. CLINICAL PRESENTATION A 77-year-old woman was referred for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia after failed conservative treatment, including multiple gasserian ganglion blocks. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain suggested a vascular lesion, and cerebral angiography demonstrated a dural arteriovenous fistula in Meckel's cave. INTERVENTION Endovascular coil embolization was performed, with obliteration of the dural arteriovenous fistula and resolution of facial pain but with decreased sensation in the face. CONCLUSION Trigeminal neuralgia may be associated with complex vascular lesions around the base of the brain and along the course of the trigeminal nerve. The evaluation of patients with trigeminal neuralgia should include high-quality, thin-section, magnetic resonance imaging scans, to exclude the possibility of vascular lesions and other structural lesions. In particular, patients who are being evaluated for surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia should undergo magnetic resonance imaging, with a focus on the course of the trigeminal nerve.

Abstract
Hemangiomas are rare benign tumors of vascular origin and multiple location of these tumors in different organs is extremely unusual. We report a case with multiple hemangiomas, characterized by calvarial, hepatic and suspicious costal involvement. Organ involvement and multiplicity of the neoplasm made our case very interesting and distinct. Our search of the English literature has revealed that no similar case has ever been published.

Abstract
Massive enlargement of an extracerebral cavernous malformation and extension across tissue planes is very uncommon. The authors present the case of a 49-year-old woman with a giant cavernous malformation in the left frontotemporal area. It progressively enlarged during several decades, extended through the calvaria to the extradural space, and was surgically treated. The lesion may have originated in the soft tissue or the skull. The locations of cavernous malformations in various parts of the body are reviewed and their mechanisms of growth are discussed. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE AND IMPORTANCE We describe a rare case of an extra-axial cavernoma of the cerebellopontine angle without internal auditory canal involvement and with an unusual appearance on preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Only three cases of cerebellopontine angle cavernomas have been previously reported, and none of these reports included preoperative MRI. CLINICAL PRESENTATION A young man presented with subacute left facial hypesthesia and chronic asymmetrical sensorineural hearing loss. MRI revealed a mass, which was isointense on T1- and T2-weighted images, with evidence of hemorrhage (methemoglobin and hemosiderin). The lesion did not enhance after the injection of gadolinium. INTERVENTION The lesion was removed without difficulty by a suboccipital approach, with intraoperative electrophysiological monitoring of facial and cochlear nerves. Facial paresis cleared postoperatively. CONCLUSION The present case suggests that the appearance of cerebelopontine angle cavernomas as revealed by MRI may be similar to that of intraparenchymal cavernomas. This is in contrast to previously reported cases of extra-axial cavernomas at other sites. Evidence of hemorrhage in an extra-axial lesion revealed by MRI suggests a possible diagnosis of cavernoma.

Abstract
Clinical, radiological and histopathological features of eight cases of symptomatic cavernous angioma are presented. Five patients were being evaluated for seizure, two for mass lesions and one for intracranial hemorrhage. CT and/or MRI detected the lesion in all cases, but there is not a characteristic image for cavernous angioma. Good results were obtained by microsurgical approach to these malformations in seven patients with only one patient suffering a worsening of neurological status after surgery.

Abstract
Cavernous angiomas of the internal auditory canal (IAC) are rare. They are angiographically occult; and because the clinical symptoms are similar both in intracanalicular cavernous angiomas and acoustic tumors it had been difficult to differentiate pre-operatively both of these pathologies until the advent of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Even nowadays the correct diagnosis may be missed if the patient is imaged only with gadolinium enhanced MRI without prior obtaining a non-contrast MRI. These diagnostic difficulties are illustrated by the report of a related case. The importance of thorough neuroradiological investigations stressed and MRI features, surgical management and relevant literature concerning the cavernous angiomas of the internal auditory canal are discussed.

Abstract
A cavernous angioma of the posterior fossa dura was discovered incidentally on neuroimaging studies. The clinical and pathologic features of this lesion are described. Although it has been reported to arise in the posterior fossa and the tentorium cerebelli, we present the first case of such a malformation arising from the dura of the posterior fossa.

Abstract
Cavernous sinus hemangiomas represent 3% of all benign cavernous sinus tumors. They are dangerous tumors because of the risk of excessive bleeding, but they are easier to dissect from surrounding structures than meningiomas because of the presence of a pseudocapsule. Three cases where total excision was achieved with minimal blood loss, without stroke, and with preservation of cranial nerve function in 2 cases are reported, and 50 cases from the literature are reviewed. Hemangiomas can be distinguished preoperatively from over one-half of meningiomas by their marked hyperintensity on T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. They arise within the cavernous sinus and extend laterally by dissecting between the two layers of dura lining the floor of the middle fossa. Cranial nerves III, IV, and V remained stretched over the tumor surface within the overlying dura, whereas cranial nerve VI is found within the tumor and is the most difficult cranial nerve to preserve. Principles for successful and safe excision include preoperative assessment of the safety of temporary or permanent carotid artery occlusion, obtaining early proximal carotid artery control, carefully developing the plane between the dura and the tumor pseudocapsule, early devascularization of the tumor, and avoiding "piecemeal" tumor resection. A few cases demonstrated tumor shrinkage with radiation therapy which should be considered for patients with incomplete tumor excision or who are too ill to undergo surgery.

Radiological findings of surgically verified cavernous hemangiomas of the cavernous sinus are presented with special reference to the appearance in magnetic resonance imaging. Differences in radiological features of the cavernous sinus cavernous hemangiomas and intracerebral cavernous hemangiomas are discussed.
