Abstract
Almost 14% of all head and neck malignancies are contributed by Lymphomas which are solid tumours of the immune system. Non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHLs) are a heterogeneous group of lymphoproliferative disorders originating in B-, T-, or natural killer T-cells with wide range of histological and clinical features, which can make diagnosis difficult. A 58-year-old male patient presented with a two-month history of swelling in the left cheek which was gradually progressing. Clinico radiological examinations were contradictory to each other with multiple differential diagnosis. Biopsy came out as primary subcutaneous NHL, which was neither clinically nor radiologically anticipated. This article is an attempt to address the diagnostic difficulty of odd clinical presentation such as rhino-facial swelling and to discuss the differential diagnosis of rhino-facial swellings. Typically, a multimodal approach is employed, and the principal ancillary technique that have been found to be useful in classification is IHC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Primary extranodal lymphomas (pENL) are lymphomas with minimal nodal involvement and dominant extranodal disease. We aimed to study the prevalence and clinicopathological characteristics of pENL presenting at our center over 5 years from January 2015 to January 2020. METHODS This is a cross-sectional study of pENL patients in which relevant clinical and laboratory data was collected including demography, site, stage, international prognostic index-revised, imaging findings, hematological, and biochemical parameters and comorbidities including underlying immunodeficiency. The paraffin blocks were subjected to routine hematoxylin and eosin stain and immunohistochemistry with standard lymphoma panel. RESULTS Of 341 lymphomas, 73 (21.4%) were pENL with commonest site being gastrointestinal tract (31.5%) followed by head and neck (23.2%) and soft tissues (9.6%). Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) (39.7%) was the commonest histological type (germinal center type-48%, nongerminal center-52%) followed by marginal zone lymphomas (MZL) (23.3%) and primary CNS lymphoma (8.2%). Primary breast lymphoma, primary bone marrow lymphoma, and follicular lymphoma constituted 4.1, 5.4, and 4.1% of pENL, respectively. There was a case of high grade B cell lymphoma of ileum with features intermediate between DLBCL and Burkitt. Other unusual pENL were anaplastic DLBCL of tonsils, DLBCLs of bone marrow with M band, MZL of base of tongue, Richter's transformation of tonsillar small lymphocytic lymphoma, and follicular lymphoma presenting as pericardial mass. Of 12 cases of T-non-Hodgkin lymphoma, commonest were mycosis fungoides (4/12) followed by mediastinal T-lymphoblastic lymphoma (2/12) and peripheral T-cell lymphoma (2/12). CONCLUSION pENL has unique clinical presentation depending on the location with site-specific distribution of histological subtypes.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Mucosa Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) lymphoma is the third most common subgroup of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and is the most common type of primary extranodal lymphoma. They are rarely found in the nasopharyngeal region and their mean age at presentation is the sixth decade of life. MATERIALS AND METHODS We present the clinical, pathological, treatment and 5-year follow-up data of 5 cases of nasopharyngeal MALT lymphoma treated with definitive radiotherapy at our hospital, between 2009 and 2011. RESULTS The average age of diagnosis was 27 years which is more than a decade earlier than what has been reported previously. Clinical symptoms included nasal obstruction, tinnitus and hearing loss. All five patients had locoregional disease. They were treated by definitive radiotherapy to a dose between 30 to 40 Gy. At 5 years of follow-up, 4 patients were in complete remission while one had disease relapse. CONCLUSION The younger age of presentation compared to older reports in this rare subsite was an interesting finding in our study. The authors speculate that rising levels of particulate air pollution may have played a part in the etiology in this younger population. Our series shows that despite the younger age, the disease displays an indolent course and responds well to radiotherapy alone as the primary treatment. Recurrence or disseminated disease is also highly treatable with systemic chemotherapy.

Abstract
Background The distribution of lymphoma subtypes differs strikingly by geographic variations. However, there is limited information on this research in northern Iran. This study aims to evaluate the incidence, subtype, age, sex, and extranodal distribution of lymphomas diagnosed according to the latest WHO classification in a large referral center in northwest Iran. Methods In a retrospective study, the medical records of all patients with a diagnosis of lymphoma made between 2018 and 2021 were retrieved from the pathology archive of Imam Reza Medical Center, Tabriz. Lymphoma diagnosis was also made based on the appreciation of morphologic and immunophenotypic features and genetic characteristics in the context of clinical presentation. Results This study includes a total of 659 patients with lymphoma diagnosed from 2018 to 2021. The number of lymphoma patients were increased each year, with 51 (7.7%), 96 (14.6%), 244 (40.7%), and 268 (40.7%) reported from 2018 to 2021, respectively. 59% of the patients were men. The participants’ mean age was 50.5 ± 19.8 years, while the mean age at diagnosis was 49.3 ± 19.6 years. 2.1% were precursor lymphoid neoplasm, 61.6% were mature B cell neoplasm, 8.8% were mature T cell neoplasm, and 27.5% were Hodgkin lymphoma. The most prevalent subtype of mature B-cell lymphoma was DLBCL (55.1%), followed by SLL (18.7%). Extranodal involvement was seen in 40.5% of all cases. Conclusion The subtype distribution of lymphomas in northwest Iran is reported and compared with studies all over the world and inside Iran.

Abstract
Objective Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). The aim of this study was to assess the clinico pathological characteristics of DLBCL specifically, among the affected individuals residing in Northern areas of Pakistan who had not been previously included in major lymphoma studies due to their remote location. Results Mean age of the patients was 49.7 years. Male: female ratio was 1.5:1. Primary site was lymph node in 99 (71.74%) patients, out of which, 36 (26.09%) patients had B symptoms and 19 (13.77%) patients had stage IV disease. 39 (28.26%) patients had primary extra nodal involvement, 4 (2.90%) patients had B symptoms and 3 (2.17%) had stage IV disease. Extra nodal sites involved in primary extra nodal DLBCL were gastrointestinal tract (GIT) 19 (48.72%), tonsils 6 (15.38%), spine 4 (10.26%), soft tissue swelling 3 (7.69%), parotid gland 2 (5.13%), thyroid 2 (5.13%) central nervous system (CNS) 1 (2.56), breast 1 (2.56%) and bone marrow 1 (2.56%). Our study revealed increased percentage of patients with nodal DLBCL in stage IV and with B symptoms. Few patients with primary extra nodal DLBCL had B symptoms and stage IV disease at presentation. Abstract
Background
Primary extranodal lymphomas are less frequently encountered and difficult to diagnose in routine practice. The histopathological and immunohistochemical studies are essential in addition to clinical details to diagnose. The incidence is varied in different parts of India along with variation in histopathological spectrum.
Methodology
The clinical features and histopathological findings of patients diagnosed with primary extranodal lymphoma over 3-year period were retrieved from archives of pathology department and analyzed.
Results
During the 3-year study period, a total of 135 cases of non-Hodgkin lymphomas were evaluated, and of these, 41.4% (56/135) of cases presented with primary extranodal involvement. The mean age of primary extranodal lymphoma presentation was 61.3 ± 17.5 with M:F ratio of 1:1.1 Most common extranodal site involved was gastrointestinal tract 32.1%, 18/56 (small intestine [17.8%, 10 cases] and large intestine [8.9%, 5 cases]). Non-Hodgkin lymphomas of B cell type were the predominant subtype (48/56, 85.7%), while 8/56 (14.2%) cases were of T cell lineage. Of the B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma diffuse, large B cell lymphoma was the predominant subtype constituting ~83.3% (40/48).
Conclusion
Primary extranodal lymphomas exhibit varied histomorphological and clinical presentation. The present study is first such analysis from Punjab that intends to compare with studies from other parts of India.

Abstract
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is the most common malignancy affecting people living with HIV (PLWH). Among its several subtypes, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an important manifestation within the HIV-infected compartment of the population. Since HIV is able to modulate B cells and promote lymphomagenesis through direct and indirect mechanisms, HIV-related DLBCL has specific characteristics. In this review, we address the clinical and molecular properties of DLBCL disease in the context of HIV infection, as well as the mechanisms by which HIV is able to modulate B lymphocytes and induce their transformation into lymphoma.

Abstract
Background Originating from extranodal organs or tissues, primary extranodal lymphoma (PENL) acts in different primary sites with diverse clinical performances and PENL has remarkable geographical differences and lacks the relevant reports in each region. Patients and Methods Two hundred and twenty PENL patients were enrolled, and the relevant clinical and laboratory indicators were analyzed. In addition, statistical methods were applied to analyze the effects of different factors on overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of patients. Results The three most frequent primary sites of PENL are the digestive system, head and neck, and central nervous system. The patients were classified into groups based on their risk status, resulting in low-risk, medium-low-risk, medium-high-risk, and high-risk, and their respective 3-year OS values were calculated, which showed that 121 patients (55%) were in the low-risk group and 3-year OS was 85.2% (25.9% medium-low-risk, 3-year OS 66.6%; 15% medium-high-risk, 3-year OS 61.9%; 4.09% high risk, 3-year OS 45.7%). A multivariate analysis of the Cox regression demonstrated that serum beta 2-microglobulin (β2-MG) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were independent prognostic factors for OS and PFS, respectively. Both the performance status and pathological subtypes were independent prognostic factors for OS and PFS. Conclusion The correlated independent risk factors such as β2-MG, LDH, performance status, and pathological subtypes, were helpful for effectively determining the prognosis of PENL patients and guiding treatment.

Abstract
Introduction The prevalent spectrum of the major subtypes of lymphoma varies across geographical regions. Through this study we aim to study the distribution of lymphoma in the state of Bihar by studying the immunophenotypic features and classifying them according to World Health Organization (WHO) 2017. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study of this type from Bihar Patients and Methods All the cases diagnosed as lymphoma between January 2016 and June 2019 in the Department of Pathology Mahavir Cancer Sansthan were included in the study. The cases were reviewed by two pathologists and diagnostically difficult cases were referred to higher center for opinion. A total of 518 cases were diagnosed as lymphoma. Results B cell lymphomas formed 79.1%, whereas T cell lymphomas formed 16.2% of the total. Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) was seen in 19.6% cases. Among the non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), diffuse large B cell lymphoma was the most common subtype (58% of all NHLs). Follicular center-cell lymphomas, B cell small lymphocytic lymphoma, mantle-cell lymphoma, and marginal zone B cell lymphomas (including mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphomas) amounted to 2.1, 6.9, 4.5, and 0.95%, respectively. Among the T cell lymphomas, T cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, anaplastic large-cell lymphomas of T/null-cell type, and other nodal peripheral T cell lymphomas accounted for 4.7, 8.1 and 6.6% of all cases, respectively. Conclusions The prevalence of lymphoma subtypes in India is different from the rest of the world. We have analyzed the distribution of lymphomas in Bihar and compared it with other studies from India. Follicular lymphoma and mantle-cell lymphoma are less common in India compared with the west. Peripheral T cell lymphomas and T/NK-cell lymphomas of nasal types are less prevalent than some Asian countries but are more prevalent than the west. T cell lymphoblastic lymphoma and anaplastic large T/null cell lymphoma are more common in India.

Abstract
Lymphoma can present with either lymphadenopathy or extranodal involvement. There are limited clinicopathological data pertaining to the occurrence of primary extranodal lymphoma (pENL) in Thailand. This was a retrospective study conducted at Chiang-Mai University Hospital from 2012 to 2016. Patients 18 years of age and over and with a diagnosis of pENL were enrolled onto study. Data related to clinical presentations, histology, stage, treatment and response were collected. There were 104 pENL patients with a median age of 63 years included. The most common presentation was gastrointestinal symptoms (41%), followed by ear, nose, and throat symptoms (35%). Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) was the most common morphological subtype (60%), followed by marginal zone lymphoma (15%). The majority of patients presented with stage II disease (55%). The five-year overall survival rate was 71%. The factors associated with mortality were hemoglobin <7 g/dL, B-symptoms and LDH above upper normal limits. This study illustrated that lymphoma can present at various extranodal sites. Gastrointestinal symptoms were the most common presentations and DLBCL was the most common subtype of pENL.

Abstract
The aim of the study was to describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics, anatomic and histologic distribution, and treatment results of extranodal lymphomas (ENLs), diagnosed and treated in the public health system in Chile. We included patients with ENL diagnosed from 1998 to 2014, in 17 cancer centers, registered prospectively in the database of the National Adult Cancer Program (PANDA) of the Ministry of Health. Treatment was based on the local protocols for each lymphoma subtype. Extranodal lymphoma was documented in 1215 of 4907 non-Hodgkin lymphomas diagnosed in that period (25%). Median age was 59 years (range, 16-95), and 55% were female. The gastrointestinal (GI) tract was the most common location (38%), followed by the head and neck (24%) and the skin (15%). B-cell lymphomas accounted for 78% of cases, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma being the most common histologic subtype (68%). Mycosis fungoides/Sezary syndrome was the most frequent T-cell subtype (36%), followed by NK/T-cell lymphomanasal type (24%). In comparison with western countries, Chile showed a significantly high prevalence of NK/T-cell lymphoma nasal type, while the frequency of B-cell ENL and the anatomic distribution appeared similar, being GI the most commonly involved site.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a ubiquitous virus that infects more than 90% of the world's population, and is implicated in lymphoma pathogenesis. However, in Zambia during the diagnosis of these lymphomas, the association of the virus with the lymphomas is not established. Since most patients with lymphomas have poor prognosis, the identification of the virus within the lymphoma lesion will allow for more targeted therapy. The aim of this study was to provide evidence of the presence of the EBV in lymphomas diagnosed at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka, Zambia. METHODS One hundred and fifty archival formalin-fixed paraffin embedded suspected lymphoma tissues stored over a 4-year period in the Histopathology Laboratory at the UTH in Lusaka, Zambia, were analysed. Histological methods were used to identify the lymphomas, and the virus was detected using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Subtyping of the virus was achieved through DNA sequencing of the EBNA-2 region of the viral genome. Chi square or fisher's exact test was used to evaluate the association between EBV status, type of lymphoma and gender. RESULTS The majority of the lymphomas identified were non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) (80%) followed by Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) (20%). EBV was detected in 51.8% of the cases, 54.5% of which were associated with NHL cases, while 40.9% associated with HL cases. The predominant subtype of the virus in both types of lymphomas was subtype 1. One of the lymphoma cases harboured both subtype 1 and 2 of the virus. CONCLUSION This study showed that EBV is closely associated with lymphomas. Therefore, providing evidence of the presence of the virus in lymphoma tissues will aid in targeted therapy. To our knowledge this is the first time such data has been generated in Zambia.

Abstract
Objectives Follicular lymphoma (FL) is the most common indolent B cell lymphoma in the United States and a quarter of patients present with stage I disease. The objective of this study was to examine if primary site of disease influences survival in early stage lymphoma. Results The most common extranodal primary sites were the integumentary system (8%), followed by the GI tract (6.4%) and head & neck (5.6%). We stratified patients into a pre-rituximab era (1983-1998) and the rituximab era (1999-2011). In multivariable analysis, integumentary disease was associated with better overall survival (Hazard Ratio [HR], 0.77; Confidence Interval [CI], 0.66-0.9) while primary site FL of the nervous system (HR, 2.40; CI, 1.72-3.38) and the musculoskeletal system (HR, 2.14; CI, 1.44-3.18) were associated with worse overall survival when compared to primary nodal FL. Treatment in the pre-rituximab era, male gender and older age at diagnosis were associated with worse survival. Methods We queried the SEER database from 1983 to 2011. We included all adult patients (>18 years) with histologically confirmed stage I FL, active follow-up, and a single primary tumor. A total of 9,865 patients met eligibility criteria, with 2520 (25%) having an extranodal primary site. We classified the primary sites by organ or anatomic location into 11 sites. Conclusion Primary site of disease is a prognostic factor for patients with early stage FL and may help identify subsets of patients that could benefit from early, aggressive treatment.

Abstract
Context: Primary extranodal lymphoma (pENL) refers to group of disorders arising from tissues other than lymph nodes. The incidence of pENL is increasing and is probably due to better diagnostic immunophenotyping and imaging modalities. Hence, this study was undertaken to ascertain the incidence, distribution, and histological subtypes of extranodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in a tertiary care institute in South India. Subjects and Methods: This was a retrospective study of patients diagnosed to have histologically proven NHL. The demographic and clinical features, laboratory parameters, imaging findings, histopathology, and immunophenotyping were documented. The lymphomas were grouped as extranodal and nodal. The data were tabulated in a Microsoft Excel sheet, and descriptive analysis was done. Results: Primary extranodal NHLs constituted 35.96% (41/114) of all NHLs. The B symptoms were less common in pENL compared to nodal NHL. Gastrointestinal tract (GIT) constituted the most common extranodal site (19/41, 46.34%), and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) was the most common histological subtype. Majority (40/41, 97%) of the patients with pENL were immunocompetent. 31/41 (75%) patients were in Stage I–II compared to 58/73 (79.4%) patients in Stage III–IV in nodal NHL. Conclusions: Primary extranodal NHL constituted about one-third of patients diagnosed to have NHL at our center with the GIT being the most common site of presentation and DLBCL being the most common histology. A strong suspicion of NHL at an extranodal site with appropriate pathological and immunophenotyping evidence is needed to establish the diagnosis of a pENL.

Abstract
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) have a great value in clinical practice of gastrointestinal lymphoma (GIL). Auxiliary methods such as flow cytometry (FCM) and gene rearrangement provide additional information for the diagnosis. Current study aims to explore the diagnostic value of EUS-FNA combined with FCM and gene rearrangement for GIL in our single institution. Suspected GIL cases, which were referred to EUS, FNA, FCM, or gene rearrangement examination, were retrospectively reviewed from January 2011 to May 2014. Definitive final diagnosis was included based on the pathological and immunostaining evidence. The gene scan analysis was applied for fragment detection in gene rearrangement. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy were considered and calculated. Fifty-three EUS cases were identified, including 38 GIL, 10 inflammations, 4 linitis plastica, and one multiple myeloma. EUS-FNA was successfully conducted in 39 out of 53 cases. After combined with FCM, the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy were increased from 60.7% to 76.9%, 90.9% to 100%, and from 69.2% to 81.8% respectively. Among 33 cases for FCM, 11 of them gained positive B or T non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis, and 28 out of 53 specimens were delivered for gene rearrangement. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of gene rearrangement were 68.2%, 100%, and 75% respectively. EUS-FNA is a possible technique for the diagnosis of GIL, With additional FCM examination may further improve the diagnostic efficiency and facilitate subclassification. Moreover, gene rearrangement assay by gene scan is also a considerable method in the specimens from GIL. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a common childhood T-cell and B-cell neoplasm that originates primarily from lymphoid tissue. Cutaneous involvement can be in the form of a primary extranodal lymphoma, or secondary to metastasis from a non-cutaneous location. The latter is uncommon, and isolated cutaneous involvement is rarely reported. We report a case of isolated secondary cutaneous involvement from nodal anaplastic large cell lymphoma (CD30 + and ALK +) in a 7-year-old boy who was on chemotherapy. This case is reported for its unusual clinical presentation as an acute febrile, generalized papulonodular eruption that mimicked deep fungal infection, with the absence of other foci of systemic metastasis.

Abstract
The definition of primary extranodal lymphoma is rather controversial and often complicated by the variety of lymphoma types. Here we describe FDG PET/CT findings in 3 pediatric patients with diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas dominated by extranodal lesions involving multiple organs. Lymphomas arising primarily in extranodal sites can present significant diagnostic challenges due to their morphological diversity and lack of uniformity in histopathological classification.

Abstract
There is paucity of data on non Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) from our population in North-East India. In this retrospective study, patients were consecutively followed-up to see the clinic-pathological pattern of NHL, various responses, and pattern of relapses to first line treatment with chemotherapy. All patients in the present study received standard regimen of cyclophosphamde, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisolone (CHOP) with or without rituximab (R-CHOP) as per our institutional protocol as first line therapy. Our study has shown that, in our adult population, the majority of NHL cases present with stage II and stage III disease and extra nodal involvement, B-cell lymphomas and diffuse large cell lymphomas being the most common subtypes. International prognostic index was a significant factor for varied responses to treatment. The majority of relapses after complete remission occurred in the first year.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to assess the epidemiological and clinicopathological characteristics of primary extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (pENL) patients, focusing on treatment and survival outcome. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between October 2003 and March 2012, 802 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) were diagnosed and treated in two different cancer centers of Southern Turkey. RESULTS pENL, constituted 12.4% (100/802) of all NHL studied during this period. Median age of the patients was 56 years (range 17-87 years) and the male: female distribution was 3:2. Eighty-five of 100 patients (85%) were in stage I/II, 9/100 (9%) in stage III, whereas 6/100 (6%) were in stage IV. Head and neck constituted the most common site (51/100, 51%), followed by gastrointestinal tract (GIL) (37/100, 37%), and cerebrum (CL) (5/100, 5%). Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) was the most common histological type, observed in 53% of patients, followed by marginal zone extranodal lymphoma (13%). Most of patients (76%) received a CHOP containing regimen. Complete remission (CR) were achieved in 71% of patients. The median follow-up duration of all patients was reported as 37.6 months (range, 0.8-165 months). This period was reported as 137.5 months (range, 117.5- 1578.6 months) in gastrointestinal lymphoma (GIL) patients, 119.0 months (range, 91.8-146.1 months) in head and neck lymphoma (HNL) patients, and 18.4 months (range, 12.6-24.1 months) in cerebral lymphoma (CL) patients. CONCLUSIONS Head and neck, and the gastrointestinal tract were the two most common extranodal sites observed. Histologically DLBC accounted for the majority of cases. Most patients were on earlier stages, had low-low intermediate IPI scores and had a favorable prognosis.

Abstract
Sjogren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disorder which is characterized by lymphocyte-mediated destruction of exocrine glands, which produces the classical symptoms of dry eyes and dry mouth, which is referred to as primary SS or the Sicca complex. When it is associated with another autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus erythematosus, the condition is termed as secondary SS. One of the known major complications in patients with Sjogren's syndrome is the occurrence of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of B cell type. It is not uncommon for malignant lymphomas to occur in head and neck region at nodal and sometimes, extranodal sites. However, only rarely may they involve the oral cavity primarily. This case report describes a rare occurrence of isolated extranodal lymphomas in the upper and lower lips of a patient, which clinically resembled a mucocele, and eventually was diagnosed as lymphoma which was associated with Sjogren's syndrome, thereby stressing the importance which was played by an oral diagnostician.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The distribution of the major subtypes of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) differs across geographic regions. This study, from the north Indian state of Punjab, has incorporated immunophenotypic findings while investigating the distribution of NHL subtypes based on World Health Organization (WHO)/ Revised European-American Classification of Lymphoid Neoplasms (REAL) system of classification. PATIENTS AND METHODS Over all seventy seven cases of lymphoma over a period of one year (between April 2012 and April 2013) were diagnosed in the Department of Pathology, Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Amritsar (Punjab). Of these 30 cases (39%) were of Hodgkin's Lymphoma (HL) and 47 cases (61%) were of Non Hodgkins lymphoma NHL. Of the total of cases of lympho-proliferative disorders, the diagnosis of NHL was done by light microscopy alone. All the cases diagnosed provisionally as NHL were taken up for immunophenotyping with Immunohistochemical (IHC) studies. There was 100 % concordance between the light microscopy and IHC studies. The individual NHL cases were classified according to the WHO/REAL classification according to the positive or relevant negative immonophenotypic expression and tabulated to ascertain the morphological spectrum of NHL in this part of the country. RESULTS B-cell lymphomas formed 89.3%, whereas T-cell lymphomas formed 10.7% of the NHLs. Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) was the most common subtype (46.8% of all NHLs). B-cell small lymphocytic lymphoma, Mantle-Cell Lymphoma (MCL), marginal zone B-cell lymphomas (including MALT lymphomas), Diffuse, mixed small cleaved cell and large-cell type and Follicular centre-cell lymphomas amounted to 17%, 12.8%, 2.1%, 2.1% and 4.3%, respectively. Among the T-cell lymphomas, T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, anaplastic large-cell lymphomas of T/null-cell type, and Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) accounted for 6.4%, 2.1%, and 2.1% of all NHL cases, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The distribution of NHL subtypes in India shows disparity with those from the rest of the world. Follicular Lymphoma (FL) and MCL are less common in India compared to Europe and the USA. Peripheral T-cell lymphomas and T/NK-cell lymphomas of nasal and nasal types, which are common in many other Asian countries, are also less prevalent. T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma and anaplastic large T/null cell lymphoma are more prevalent in India.

Abstract
Nasal-type extranodal natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma (ENKL) is a highly invasive cancer with a poor prognosis. More effective and safer treatment regimens for ENKL are needed. Pegaspargase (PEG-Asp) has a similar mechanism of action to L-asparaginase (L-Asp), but presents lower antigenicity. The aim of the present research was to evaluate the safety profile and the latent efficacy of a PEG-Asp-based treatment regimen in patients with ENKL. Data collected from 20 patients with histologically confirmed ENKL, admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University from January 2009 to August 2013, were included in the study. All patients received 2500 IU/m2/IM PEG-Asp on day 1 of every 21-day treatment cycle. Patients received combination chemotherapy with CHOP (n=5), EPOCH (n=7), GEMOX (n=7) or CHOP with bleomycin (n=1). After 2-5 treatment cycles (median, 4 cycles) of PEG-Asp-based chemotherapy, five patients (25%) showed a complete response (CR), and the overall response rate (ORR) was 60%. Grade 3/4 neutropenia occurred in fourteen patients (70%). Grade 3 alanine aminotransferase (ALT) elevation was observed in two. Grade 1-2 non-hematological toxicity consisted of activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) elongation (n=9), hypofibrinogenemia (n=6), hypoproteinemia (n=17), hyperglycemia (n=3), and nausea (n=6). No allergic reactions were detected. No treatment related death was reported. Our results suggested that PEG-Asp-based chemotherapy presented an acceptable tolerance and a potential short-term outcome in patients with nasal-type ENKL.
