Modes of responsibility in disclosing cancer genetic test results to relatives: An analysis of Swiss and Korean narrative data

OBJECTIVE

We examined how responsibility (the "duty to inform relatives about genetic testing results") is understood and enacted among Swiss and Korean women carrying BRCA1 or BRCA2 pathogenic variants.

METHODS

In-depth interviews and/or focus groups with 46 Swiss and 22 Korean carriers were conducted, using an identical interview guide. Data were analyzed inductively and translated into English for cross-country comparisons.

RESULTS

We identified five modes of responsibility in both samples: Persuader, Enabler, Relayer, Delayer, and Decliner. The Enabler and Relayer modes were the most common in both countries. They followed the rational imperative of health and norms of competence and self-determination, respectively. The Relayer mode transmitted information without trying to influence relatives' decisions. The Delayer and Decliner modes withheld information, deeming it the best way to safeguard the family during that specific moment of its trajectory. Responsibility to disclose testing results was influenced by culturally diverging conceptions of the family unit and socio-contextual norms.

CONCLUSION

Responsibility primarily reflects the imperative of health prevention; findings demonstrate various interpretations, including the sense of family caring achieved through controlled disclosure of genetic information.

PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS

Findings offer healthcare providers socio-anthropological insights to assist probands navigate the disclosure of genetic information within their families.

Factors influencing civil servants' willingness to implement cardiopulmonary resuscitation in Chongqing, China: Based on the theory of planned behavior

Background

Timely bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation is the key to improving the survival rate of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Civil servants are potential bystander CPR providers. This study aimed to explore civil servants' willingness to implement CPR in Chongqing, identify the influencing factors and mechanisms affecting civil servants' willingness to perform CPR, and then seek countermeasures to improve civil servants' willingness to implement CPR.

Methods

We introduced the theory of perceived risk into the theory of planned behavior, developed a 7-point Likert scale based on the extended theory of planned behavior, and conducted a questionnaire survey on civil servants in Chongqing, China. Descriptive statistical analysis and one-way ANOVA were employed to explore respondents' willingness and differences. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the relationship between attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and perceived risk and respondents' willingness to implement CPR.

Results

A total of 1235 valid questionnaires were included for analysis. 50.1 % of respondents were willing to implement CPR. Male, over 40 years old, living with the elderly, having previous experience performing CPR on another person, and having higher CPR knowledge scores were associated with a more positive willingness to perform CPR. Attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control had significant positive effects on willingness, and the standardized regression coefficients were 0.164, 0.326 and 0.313, respectively. The perceived risk has a significant negative effect on willingness, and the standardized regression coefficient was -0.109. The four latent variables accounted for 44.2 % of the variance in the willingness of civil servants to implement CPR.

Conclusions

The willingness of civil servants in Chongqing to implement CPR needs to be improved, and the countermeasures to enhance the subjective norm and perceived behavioral control of civil servants should be emphasized, such as developing a social support network for rescuing conduct, establishing regular training mechanisms and improving the practical applicability and popularization of the Chinese-style "Good Samaritan Law" etc., to improve the willingness of civil servants in Chongqing to implement CPR.

Psychometric Evaluation of the Traditional Chinese Version of the Self-Care of Heart Failure Index Version 7.2

BACKGROUND

The Self-Care of Heart Failure Index (SCHFI) is a widely used instrument used to measure self-care in both research and clinical settings. The lack of a psychometric evaluation of the traditional Chinese version of the SCHFI (SCHFI-C) might limit its utilization in non-Mainland Chinese populations such as Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

OBJECTIVE

This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the SCHFI-C v.7.2.

METHODS

Participants included 365 adults with heart failure. Breslin's method of translation was used to translate the SCHFI v.7.2 into traditional Chinese. Exploratory factor analysis was conducted to examine the dimensionality structure of each scale. Then, composite reliability was calculated to assess the reliability of 3 scales. Construct validity was examined by hypothesis testing and known-group comparisons.

RESULTS

The results of exploratory factor analysis suggest its multidimensionality of each scale. More specifically, the findings indicated a unique internal structure of the self-care maintenance ("lifestyle-related behaviors" and "consulting behaviors") and self-care management ("self-reliance behaviors" and "help-seeking behaviors") scales. The composite reliability of 3 scales were 0.81, 0.88, and 0.82, respectively, reaching adequate level. As for construct validity, the significant associations between the 3 SCHFI domains and self-care confidence as well as significant group difference among patients of different ages and educational backgrounds supported good construct validity.

CONCLUSIONS

This study provides evidence of the reliability and validity of the SCHFI-C v.7.2. The traditional SCHFI-C v.7.2 can serve as a valid and reliable outcome measure to evaluate the effects of self-care-promoting interventions.

Benefits of Chinese family caregivers of patients with urostomy: a qualitative study

BACKGROUND

Family caregivers, also known as informal caregivers, are critical for the home care of patients with urostomy. The present study aimed to investigate the benefits of family caregivers in China while taking care of patients with urostomy from a positive perspective.

METHODS

A qualitative research design was adopted, with a thematic analysis. The qualitative research software NVivo was used for data analysis. Twenty-two family caregivers of urostomy patients participated in an in-depth interview for 60-90 min. A qualitative analysis was performed using a thematic approach in accordance with the six-stage thematic analysis process reported by Braun and Clarke (2006).

RESULTS

The following four benefits were identified: mastering knowledge and skills, promoting self-growth, establishing close family ties, and changing the way of life. Among these four themes, 11 sub-themes were constructed by coders.

CONCLUSIONS

This study provides new insights into intervention measures for family caregivers of patients with urostomy, which could play an important role in developing the overall model of family-centered nursing.

A latent class analysis of family resilience and its relationship with fear of recurrence in lung cancer patients: a cross-sectional study

PURPOSE

Family resilience helps cancer-affected families overcome challenges and may influence an individual's fear of cancer recurrence (FCR). Identifying distinct classes of family resilience among lung cancer patients is crucial for tailored interventions. This study aimed to identify latent classes of family resilience in lung cancer patients and explore their relationships with FCR.

METHODS

Three hundred ten lung cancer patients from three hospitals in Fujian were recruited from June to September 2021. Clinical data were extracted from medical records, while sociodemographic details, family resilience, and FCR were self-reported. A latent class analysis was performed to identify family resilience classes.

RESULTS

A 4-class solution showed the best fit. Compared to Class 1, the patients who had no comorbidities (ORs = 3.480-16.005) had an increased likelihood of belonging to Class 2 and 3, while those who were not family breadwinners (ORs = 0.118-0.176) had a decreased likelihood. Further, the patients who (1) did not lack interest/pleasure in doing things during the past 2-week period (OR = 7.057), (2) were never smokers (OR = 6.230), and (3) were urban residents (OR = 8.985) had an increased likelihood of belonging to Class 4, while those who were (1) male (OR = 0.167), (2) not the family breadwinner (OR = 0.152), and (3) had none or only one child (OR = 0.203) had a decreased likelihood of belonging to Class 4. The FCR level differed significantly among these four classes.

CONCLUSION

Our study identified four distinct classes of family resilience among Chinese lung cancer patients. FCR severity decreased with increasing levels of family resilience.

The effects of hospice care education on first-year undergraduate nursing students in mainland China: A mixed-methods study

BACKGROUND

With the rising number of people with end-stage chronic diseases, the demand for hospice care has increased dramatically. As the future health professionals for the implementation of hospice care, undergraduate nursing students in mainland China still lack knowledge and skills of hospice care, thus hospice care education plays a vital role in its development.

OBJECTIVES

To understand the effects of hospice care education on nursing students' death attitudes, end-of-life attitudes, humanistic care qualities, and their learning experiences.

DESIGN

This study used a mixed-methods design.

SETTING

A University of Chinese Medicine in mainland China.

PARTICIPANTS

The first-year undergraduate nursing students (n = 65).

METHODS

A mixed-methods study was conducted to evaluate the impact of a hospice care course from March to June 2021. The quantitative part included a quasi-experimental study designed with pre- and post-intervention measurements and the qualitative part included a descriptive qualitative study with semi-structured individual interviews.

RESULTS

The quantitative data revealed that after the course, nursing students experienced improvements in their death attitudes, end-of-life attitudes, and humanistic care qualities. Two categories were identified from the qualitative data. The category of "Gain from learning" included 4 themes (Confronting death and thinking about life; Understanding and agreeing with the idea of hospice care; Perceiving the humanistic spirit of medicine; Enhancing of the nursing discipline cognition and professional identity) and the category of "Course feedback" included 2 themes (Expressing recognition for the course arrangement; Making suggestions on the course optimization).

CONCLUSIONS

Hospice care education had a positive influence on nursing students. Students expressed satisfaction with the course arrangement. However, future hospice care courses should further optimize the curriculum designs by increasing the discussion of death-related topics, sharing more real clinical cases, recruiting students from different majors, and providing clinical practice, to provide high-quality nursing education for the development of hospice care.

"Being a Good Parent" During Times of Illness as Defined by Chinese Children With Cancer, Their Parents, and Providers

BACKGROUND

Identifying the definition of "being a good parent" facilitates the understanding of parents' personal beliefs and deeds regarding their ill child.

OBJECTIVE

The aim of this study was to explore the concept of "being a good parent to my ill child" during pediatric cancer treatment from the perspective of Chinese children, parents, and providers.

METHODS

A descriptive qualitative study was conducted with 6 children, 18 parents, 5 doctors, 19 nurses, and 3 social workers by semistructured interviews at 3 Chinese hospitals.

RESULTS

Except for "letting the Lord lead," 7 themes from the original conceptual model were validated, for example, "being there for my child" (n = 51, 100.0%); "doing right by my child" (n = 38, 74.5%), "being an advocate for my child" (n = 27, 52.9%), "conveying love to my child" (n = 26, 51.0%), "making my child healthy" (n = 18, 35.3%), "being a good life example" (n = 13, 25.5%), and "not allowing suffering" (n = 13, 25.5%). A new theme, "rebuilding myself" (n = 39, 76.5%), emerged in the Chinese context. "Being a good parent to my ill child" is perceived differently among stakeholders. Healthcare professionals' facilitation to fulfill the concept included "recognizing the individualized good-parent definition," "providing best available care" and "establishing a supportive environment."

CONCLUSION

"Being a good parent to my ill child" is meaningfully expressed by Chinese parents and recognized by children and providers during pediatric cancer treatment.

IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE

It is important to support parents in conveying their internal good parent definition and sharing it with stakeholders. Attention should be paid to related cultural influencers, a supportive family-friendly environment, and shared decision making involving the child's voice.

The middle-aged and older Chinese adults' health using actigraphy in Taiwan (MOCHA-T): protocol for a multidimensional dataset of health and lifestyle

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES

Older adults keep transforming with Baby Boomers and Gen Xers being the leading older population. Their lifestyle, however, is not well understood. The middle-aged and older Chinese adults' health using actigraphy in Taiwan (MOCHA-T) collected both objective and subjective data to depict the health and lifestyle of this population. The objectives, design, and measures of the MOCHA-T study are introduced, and the caveats and future directions related to the use of the data are presented.

METHODS

People aged 50 and over were recruited from the community, with a subset of women aged 45-49 invited to supplement data on menopause and aging. Four instruments (i.e., self-reported questionnaires, diary, wrist actigraphy recorder, and GPS) were used to collect measures of sociodemographic, health, psychosocial, behavioral, temporal, and spatial data.

RESULTS

A total of 242 participants who returned the informed consent and questionnaires were recruited in the MOCHA-T study. Among them, 94.6%, 95.0%, and 25.2% also completed the diary, actigraphy, and GPS data, respectively. There was almost no difference in sociodemographic characteristics between those with and without a completed diary, actigraphy, and GPS data, except for age group and educational level for those who returned completed actigraphy data.

CONCLUSION

The MOCHA-T study is a multidimensional dataset that allows researchers to describe the health, behaviors, and lifestyle patterns, and their interactions with the environment of the newer generation of middle-aged and older adults in Taiwan. It can be compared with other countries with actigraphy and GPS-based lifestyle data of middle-aged and older adults in the future.

Family roles in informed consent from the perspective of young Chinese doctors: a questionnaire study

BACKGROUND

Based on the principle of informed consent, doctors are required to fully inform patients and respect their medical decisions. In China, however, family members usually play a special role in the patient's informed consent, which creates a unique "doctor-family-patient" model of the physician-patient relationship. Our study targets young doctors to investigate the ethical dilemmas they may encounter in such a model, as well as their attitudes to the family roles in informed consent.

METHODS

A questionnaire was developed including general demographic characteristics, the fulfillment of the obligation to fully inform, who will be informed, and the ethical dilemmas in decision-making. We recruited a total of 421 doctors to complete this questionnaire, of which 368 met the age requirements for this study. Cross tabulation and Pearson's chi-squared test were used to analyze the differences between types of patients for categorical variables, and a p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.

RESULTS

Our data shows that only 20 doctors (5.40%) stated "informing the patient alone is sufficient" when it comes to informing patients of their serious conditions. The rest of the participants would ensure that the family was informed. When facing elderly patients with decision-making capacity, the data was statistically different (3.8%; P < 0.001) The primary reason for ensuring that family members be informed differs among the participants. In addition, when family members asked doctors to conceal the patient's medical condition for the best interests of patients, 270 doctors (73.4%) would agree and cooperate with the family. A similar proportion (79.6%) would do so when it comes to elderly patients.

CONCLUSIONS

(1) Chinese doctors pay extra attention to informing the patient's family, which may not be in the patient's best interests. (2) Chinese doctors treat adult (but not elderly) patients and elderly patients differently when it comes to informing family members. (3) When family members request that doctors withhold information from patients "in the best interest of the patient," the majority choose to comply with the request, although this may cause them distress.

Medical ethics of long-duration spaceflight

With the advent of novel and emerging technologies, long duration spaceflight will become more common; along with it, an increase in its inherent health risks. However, health-related ethical issues arising during long-duration spaceflight remain poorly characterized, uncertain and unpredictable. Medical ethics is defined as a set of moral principles, beliefs and values that guides choices about medical care. This set of principles, founded in our sense of right and wrong, helps us make fair and just decisions. The paper conceptually and analytically investigates the ethical issues likely to arise from medical complications during spaceflight, mapping unfilled gaps of the current status quo. Furthermore, this paper explores broad ethical themes of autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence and justice, while also delving deeper into specific scenarios within each theme. The manuscript represents an up-to-date review of the available literature in the field of space medical ethics and recommends guiding ethical principles and a framework for their application to negotiate the resolution of complex ethical scenarios during long-duration spaceflight.

Influencing factors of psychological pain among older people in China: A cross-sectional study

Limited research has focused on the psychological pain among older people and factors associated with psychological distress in older adults also remain to be evaluated. This study aims to examine the status and correlates of psychological pain among older people from urban and rural areas in China. This cross-sectional study analyzed data from 4312 samples which extracted from the dataset of China's Health-Related Quality of Life Survey for Older Adults 2018. Psychological pain was assessed by the Chinese version of the Psychache Scale (PAS). Multiple linear regression models were established to examine the associations between demographic characteristics and psychological pain. The average score of PAS among older people was 41.79 ± 14.52, and the average score of PAS among urban older people was higher than rural ones in this study. For rural older people, age (B ≥ 80 = 2.55), gender (B Female = 1.27), educational level (B Primary school = 1.63; B ≥ Middle school = 0.27), smoking (B yes = 0.83), number of chronic diseases (B ≥ 2 = 3.19) and personal social capital (B BRC = 0.27) were positively related to psychological pain, while family per-capita annual income (B15,000-30,000 = -2.52; B > 30,000 = -3.44), living arrangement (B With spouse = -3.40; B With children = -2.89; B Others = -3.82) and personal social capital (B BOC = -0.36) were negatively associated with psychological pain (p < 0.05). Moreover, for urban older people, gender (B Female = 0.98), current occupation (B With occupation = 1.13) and smoking (B yes = 2.14) were positively related to psychological pain, whereas age (B ≥ 80 = -1.45), family per-capita annual income (B > 30,000 = -3.63), living arrangement (B With spouse = -1.31), BMI (Bnormal = -2.62) and personal social capital (B BOC = -0.16) were negatively associated with psychological pain (p < 0.05). The present study sheds light on the worrying state of psychological pain experienced by Chinese older people. The results suggest that targeted interventions and social support, should be taken to alleviate the psychological pain among older people, especially urban older people.

Challenges, Concerns, and Experiences of Community-Dwelling Older Women with Chronic Low Back Pain—A Qualitative Study in Hong Kong, China

Background and Objectives: Although chronic low back pain (CLBP) is known to negatively affect multiple aspects of the lives of older people, prior qualitative studies mainly focused on the lived experiences of older people with CLBP in Western countries. Given cultural and contextual differences and poor understanding of CLBP in older women with CLBP, it is important to better understand the concerns and lived experiences of Chinese older women with CLBP. The current study aimed to investigate the experiences, challenges, concerns, and coping strategies of older women with CLBP in Hong Kong. Research Design and Methods: A total of 15 community-dwelling older women with CLBP aged ≥60 years were recruited from a physiotherapy clinic or a community center for semi-structured interviews. The interviews were audio recorded and transcribed ‘verbatim’. The transcription was imported to NVivo 12 software. Thematic analysis was conducted using Braun and Clarke’s method. Results: Five themes were identified: (1) physical impacts of CLBP on daily life; (2) psychological influences of CLBP; (3) management of CLBP; (4) family support; and (5) social activities and support. Discussion and implications: Negative physical and psychosocial impacts of CLBP were common among older women, and they adopted diverse pain management strategies, although some of their treatment options were influenced by the Chinese culture. Misbeliefs and responses of family and friends also affected their management strategies. Elderly community centers are a significant source of social support for older women with CLBP, making it an ideal platform for establishing self-help groups to facilitate their self-management of CLBP.

Oncology nurses' and oncologists' experience of addressing sexual health concerns in breast cancer patients: A qualitative study

PURPOSE

This study aimed to explore the experiences of Chinese oncology nurses and oncologists who provide sexual health education for breast cancer patients in their practical work.

METHODS

This was a qualitative study using semistructured face-to-face interviews. Eleven nurses and eight oncologists who provided sexual health education to breast cancer patients were purposively recruited from eight hospitals in seven provinces of China. Data were analyzed using the thematic analysis method.

RESULTS

Four main themes emerged: the surface of sexual health, stress and benefit finding, cultural sensitivity and communication, needs and changes. Both oncology nurses and oncologists found it difficult to solve sexual health problems, which were beyond their responsibilities and competencies. They felt helpless about the limitations of external support. Nurses hoped oncologists could participate in more sexual health education.

CONCLUSIONS

Oncology nurses and oncologists experienced great challenges in educating breast cancer patients about sexual health. They are eager to obtain more formal education and learning resources for sexual health education. Specific training to improve the sexual health education competence of healthcare professionals is needed. Furthermore, more support is needed to create conditions to encourage patients to reveal their sexual challenges. It is necessary for oncology nurses and oncologists to communicate on sexual health in breast cancer patients, and to promote interdisciplinary communication and share responsibility.

'And I thought having a cancer diagnosis was hard': A descriptive phenomenological study of family caregiver experiences navigating the pre-hospital system during COVID-19

PURPOSE

Cancer patients usually need frequent hospitalization for diagnosis and treatment. However, the unprecedented outbreak of the Omicron wave in Shanghai pressured local communities and hospitals to enforce strict control measures. This qualitative study aimed to investigate cancer family caregivers' experiences of navigating the pre-hospital system during the lockdown in Shanghai.

METHOD

This is a substudy of a larger study investigating the experience of 20 caregivers of hospitalized cancer patients during the lockdown in Shanghai. This study was based on findings from a subset of 14 semi-structured face-to-face interviews with cancer family caregivers. Inductive thematic analysis was used to analyze the data.

RESULTS

The outbreak of the epidemic and lockdown measures created additional challenges for caregivers, which extended beyond their daily concerns. Uncertainties of the situation, risks of infection, and income loss, along with the strict restrictions in their community and hospitals, added to their burden and compromised their abilities to seek help for their significant others. Yet, in an attempt to reduce undue concern and worry, caregivers were eventually allowed to accompany their family member to the hospital using reliable information, and telemedicine techniques based on an updated governmental policy governing access to care and support for cancer patients.

CONCLUSIONS

The lockdown in Shanghai significantly affected cancer family caregivers' experience navigating the pre-hospital system. Policy support for cancer care, reliable information, and telemedicine techniques have been identified as essential facilitators of improved access to cancer care.

Clinical nurses' moral courage and related factors: an empowerment perspective

BACKGROUND

Moral courage as part of the moral competence of nurses has received increasing attention. Determination of the factors affecting moral courage is important in improving the quality of care. The purpose of this study was to investigate moral courage and related factors among frontline nurses from an empowerment perspective.

METHODS

A cross-sectional study was conducted using data collection instruments comprising four main parts: the self-designed form of demographic characteristics, Conditions for Work Effectiveness II (CWEQ-II), Spreitzer's Psychological Empowerment Scale (PES) and Nurses' Moral Courage Scale (NMCS). Data were collected from 226 nurses in a tertiary hospital between February and March 2022 in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province in central China. Descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the data.

RESULTS

The means of the total scores for the CWEQ-II, PES and the NMCS were 3.52 (SD = 0.69), 3.85 (SD = 0.53) and 3.90 (SD = 0.67), respectively. All the dimensions and the total scores of the CWEQ-II and PES were significantly correlated with the NMCS (p < 0.001). According to the multivariate stepwise regression analysis, CWEQ-II and PES were determined to be factors affecting NMCS. These variables explained 35.9% of the total variance in the moral courage scores of nurses.

CONCLUSION

The level of moral courage among nurses is above average. Structural empowerment and psychological empowerment were the key factors affecting the promotion of moral courage. Hospital and organizational administrations should be conscious of the role of attach structural empowerment and psychological empowerment in the nursing workplace in increasing moral courage.

Barriers of and strategies for shared decision-making implementation in the care of metastatic breast cancer: A qualitative study among patients and healthcare professionals in an Asian country

BACKGROUND

Shared decision-making has been shown to improve the quality of life in metastatic breast cancer patients in high-literacy and high-resource settings. However, limited studies have examined the cultural preferences of metastatic breast cancer patients with shared decision-making implementation and the barriers encountered in an Asian setting where societal norms predominate and physician decision-making is at the forefront. This paper aims to identify (1) barriers to practising shared decision-making faced by healthcare professionals and patients and (2) strategies for implementing shared decision-making in the context of metastatic breast cancer management in Malaysia.

METHODS

We conducted a qualitative study involving 12 patients diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, 16 healthcare professionals and 5 policymakers from surgical and oncology departments at public healthcare centres in Malaysia. Semi-structured in-depth interviews and focus group discussions were conducted. The interviews were recorded, transcribed verbatim and analysed using the thematic approach. Nvivo software was used to manage and analyse the data.

RESULTS

Five main themes emerged from the study: healthcare provider-patient communication, workforce availability, cultural and belief systems, goals of care and paternalism versus autonomy. Other strategies proposed to overcome barriers to implementing shared decision-making were training of healthcare professionals and empowering nurses to manage patients' psychosocial issues.

CONCLUSION

This study found that practising shared decision-making in the public health sector remains challenging when managing patients with metastatic breast cancer. The utilization of decision-making tools, patient empowerment and healthcare provider training may help address the system and healthcare provider-patient barriers identified in this study.

Religious Affiliations and Clinical Outcomes in Korean Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction

Objective

Although religion is expected to have a direct or indirect effect on various aspects of human life, information on the association between religion and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is inadequate. Hence, in this study, we aimed to investigate the clinical effect of religion on clinical outcomes in patients with AMI.

Methods

A total of 2,348 patients with AMI who were treated by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were enrolled in the study, and they were categorized into two groups depending on their religious belief: religious and non-religious groups. The characteristics and clinical outcomes of both groups were compared.

Results

Compared with the religious group, the non-religious group was younger, included mostly men, was more likely to smoke, and was more likely to be diagnosed with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. However, the non-religious group was less likely to have a history of hypertension and tended to receive PCI more quickly with shorter door-to-balloon time. Regarding 1-year clinical outcomes, no differences were found between the two groups.

Conclusion

Despite a growing body of evidence that religious activities have positive effects on human physical health, our results showed a lack of significant differences in 1-year clinical outcomes in patients with AMI irrespective of their religious beliefs.
