Abstract
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening and detecting it at an early stage is an effective way to decrease mortality from CRC. Colonoscopy, considered the gold standard (GS) for diagnosing the disease in many countries, has several limitations. Therefore, the main focus of this literature is to investigate the ability of combining candidate gut microbiota for early diagnosis of CRC, both in the presence and absence of GS test outcomes. METHODS We analyzed the data derived from a case-control study, including 83 screening colonoscopies conducted on subjects aged 18-92 years in Tehran, Iran. The candidate gut microbiota including, ETBF, Enterococcus faecalis, and Porphyromonas gingivalis were quantified in samples using absolute qRT PCR. The Bayesian latent class model (LCM) was employed to combine the values from the multiple bacterial markers in order to optimize the discriminatory ability compared with a single marker. RESULTS Based on Bayesian logistic regression, we discovered that family history of CRC, physical activity, cigarette smoking, and food diet were all significantly associated with an increased risk of CRC. When comparing ETBF and E. faecalis to P. gingivalis, we have observed that P. gingivalis exhibited greater predictive power in detecting high-risk individuals with CRC. As such, the sensitivity, specificity, and the area under the receiver-operating characteristics curve of combining ETBF, E. faecalis, and P. gingivalis were 98%, 96%, and 0.97, respectively. CONCLUSIONS This study suggests that the combined use of the three markers markedly improves classification performance compared to pairwise combinations, as well as individual markers, both with and without GS test outcomes. Noticeably, the triple composition of the fecal markers may serve as a reliable non-invasive indicator for the early prediction of CRC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Studies on physical activity's psychological benefits are generally fewer than those on its physiological benefits, and these limited studies have mostly investigated its impact on cognitive functions. Studies exclusively investigating physical activity's effects on happiness are rare. This study aims to investigate the effect of physical activity on psychological functions, especially on happiness. METHODS Analysis was based on a large field of nationally representative Indonesian adult data. Data were compiled based on face-to-face interviews with 12,051 adults. Participants provided measures of physical activity, subjective health, and happiness, and responses were recorded with computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) software. Demographic data, including gender, subjective wealth, education, and age, were also included in the analysis. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted to determine the relationship between physical activity, health, subjective wealth, and happiness. RESULTS The tested model of the association between physical activity, health, subjective wealth, and happiness indicated a good fit, based on χ2 (1, n = 12,051) = 48.733, p = .001, RMSEA = .063, and CFI = .97. Path analysis results showed that health conditions mediated the effects of physical activity on happiness. The result also showed positive effects of education level and subjective wealth on happiness. CONCLUSION This study provides evidence that engagement in physical activity has a positive impact on happiness. Indonesian adults should engage in more active lifestyles since more than one-third of Indonesians did not get enough physical activity.

Abstract
Abstract
Introduction: Western lifestyle characterized by increased consumption of red meat, fat, processed food, smoking, alcohol drinking, lower consumption of vegetables and physical inactivity has been associated with a higher gastrointestinal cancer risk. Digestive system cancers are diagnosed at late stages when they show poor response to treatment and are associated with a high mortality rate. Colorectal, gastric, esophageal and pancreatic cancers are among the most common cancers worldwide. Studies show that more than 50% of gastrointestinal cancers develop as a result of inappropriate lifestyle. An inverse association between physical activity and many chronic diseases has been proved so far. However, the association between physical activity and some gastrointestinal cancers is still controversial. This study was aimed to determine the association between physical activity and gastrointestinal cancers risk.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search of English and Persian databases from February 2007 till December 2017, for studies investigating the association of physical activity and risk of gastrointestinal cancers. Finally, after reading full text of articles, 123 studies were included.
Results: Physical activity can be helpful in reducing the risk of gastrointestinal cancer, especially colon and pancreatic cancers. The risk reduction is not similar for different types of gastrointestinal cancers and also among males and females.
Conclusion: Different types of physical activity are associated with a lower risk of gastrointestinal cancer. However, it is unknown which type and intensity of physical activity are associated with a protective effect against gastro-intestinal cancer.

Abstract
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNAs that have been proposed to control or fine-tune complex genetic pathways by post-transcriptional regulation of target genes. It was proved that numerous miRNAs have influence on the biology of adipocytes as well as on the function of adipose tissues. This study shows that miR-10b-5p expression was decreased in mice, rats, and human under obesity. In addition, the obtained results indicated that the expression level of miR-10b-5p was increased in 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes without manifesting a significant role in 3T3-L1 cells proliferation. On the other hand, the downregulation of miR-10b-5p by the inhibitor played a role in 3T3-L1 cells differentiation and adipogenesis. Our results strongly suggest that Apol6 was the target gene of miR-10b-5p. The inhibition of miR-10b-5p promoted the differentiation of 3T3-L1 cells and adipogenesis by upregulating the Apol6 expression. Then, the upregulated Apol6 acted as an oncogene in certain obesity-related cancers. These results indicate that miR-10b-5p may have a therapeutic significance for obesity and obesity-related cancers.

Abstract
Scientific evidence for the primary prevention of cancer caused by physical activity of regular moderate-intensity or greater is rapidly accumulating in this field. About 300 epidemiologic studies on the association between physical activity and cancer risk have been conducted worldwide. The objectives of this paper were three-fold: (i) to describe briefly the components of physical activity and its quantification; (ii) to summarize the most important conclusions available from comprehensive reports, and reviews of the epidemiologic individual and intervention studies on a role physical activity in cancer prevention; (iii) to present proposed biological mechanisms accounting for effects of activity on cancer risk. The evidence of causal linked physical activity and cancer risk is found to be strong for colon cancer - convincing; weaker for postmenopausal breast and endometrium cancers - probable; and limited suggestive for premenopausal breast, lung, prostate, ovary, gastric and pancreatic cancers. The average risk reductions were reported to be 20-30%. The protective effects of physical activity on cancer risk are hypothesized to be through multiple interrelated pathways: decrease in adiposity, decrease in sexual and metabolic hormones, changes in biomarkers and insulin resistance, improvement of immune function, and reduction of inflammation. As there are several gaps in the literature for associations between activity and cancer risk, additional studies are needed. Future research should include studies dealing with limitations in precise estimates of physical activity and of a lack of consensus on what defines sedentary behavior of individuals and those linked with the proposed biomarkers to cancer risk and controlled exercise intervention trials.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between physical activity and lung cancer among smokers and whether this relationship differed according to physical activity intensity, smoking status, and gender. DESIGN Meta-analysis. METHODS A computerized bibliographical search was conducted in five databases. Study inclusion criteria were: (i) the study population was not diagnosed with lung cancer at baseline; (ii) the study provided information concerning the effect size of physical activity on the risk of developing lung cancer in smokers; and (iii) the study distinguished different physical activity intensity levels. Two authors independently extracted data and assessed the methodological quality. Pooled rate ratios (RR) were calculated for all data, and for subgroups of physical activity intensity, smoking status, and gender. RESULTS Pooled RRs of 7 cohort studies showed that physical activity was associated with a reduced risk of lung cancer in smokers (RR=0.82, 95% CI=0.77; 0.87). We did not find clear dose-response relationship regarding exercise or smoking intensity, i.e. high levels of physical activity did not show a higher risk reduction than moderate physical activity levels, and the association between physical activity and risk reduction did not differ between heavy and light smokers. The reduced risk associated with physical activity was greater in women than in men (p=0.03), but this finding was based on only one study that reported data on women. CONCLUSIONS Results of this meta-analysis indicate that leisure time physical activity is associated with reduced risk of developing lung cancer among smokers. Future studies should provide insight into a potential dose-response relationship, and should use reliable and valid physical activity measurements.

Abstract
There are compelling reasons to conduct studies of cancer in Hispanics, the fastest growing major demographic group in the United States (from 15% to 30% of the U.S. population by 2050). The genetically admixed Hispanic population coupled with secular trends in environmental exposures and lifestyle/behavioral practices that are associated with immigration and acculturation offer opportunities for elucidating the effects of genetics, environment, and lifestyle on cancer risk and identifying novel risk factors. For example, traditional breast cancer risk factors explain less of the breast cancer risk in Hispanics than in non-Hispanic whites (NHW), and there is a substantially greater proportion of never-smokers with lung cancer in Hispanics than in NHW. Hispanics have higher incidence rates for cancers of the cervix, stomach, liver, and gall bladder than NHW. With respect to these cancers, there are intriguing patterns that warrant study (e.g., depending on country of origin, the five-fold difference in gastric cancer rates for Hispanic men but not Hispanic women). Also, despite a substantially higher incidence rate and increasing secular trend for liver cancer in Hispanics, there have been no studies of Hispanics reported to date. We review the literature and discuss study design options and features that should be considered in future studies.

Abstract
Gastric cancer is the fourth most common malignancy worldwide and is globally the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths each year. Among the risk factors are genetic factors, environmental factors and other factors. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) has been found to be the major carcinogen in gastric cancer development. Approximately 65%-80% of non-cardia gastric adenocarcinoma is attributable to H. pylori infection. One percent of patients infected with H. pylori will develop gastric cancer. American and European guidelines on the management of H. pylori infection recommend H. pylori eradication in all patients with atrophy and/or intestinal metaplasia. In the Asian Pacific Gastric Cancer Consensus, it was suggested for the first time that it is time for population-based screening and treatment of H. pylori infection in regions where gastric cancer incidence is above 20/100 000 per year. Although the incidence of gastric cancer is declining, its mortality rate is high. Many risk factors have been confirmed and have taken basic precautions. H. pylori eradication treatment reduced but did not completely eliminate the risk factors for gastric cancer. With further research, the role of behavioral factors in the development of gastric cancer has become increasingly prominent. Elucidation of the role of behavioral factors in the development of gastric cancer can help us better prevent and manage this disease.
