Abstract
Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B Streptococcus, GBS) is an opportunistic pathogen, which asymptomatically colonizes the gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract of up to one third of healthy adults. Nevertheless, GBS carriage in pregnant women may lead to several health issues in newborns causing life threatening infection, such as sepsis, pneumonia or meningitis. Recommended GBS screening in pregnant women significantly reduced morbidity and mortality in infants. Nevertheless, intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis, recommended following the detection of carriage or in case of lack of a carriage test result for pregnant women who demonstrate certain risk factors, led to the expansion of the adverse phenomenon of bacterial resistance to antibiotics. In our paper, we reviewed some immunogenic GBS proteins, i.e., Alp family proteins, β protein, Lmb, Sip, BibA, FsbA, ScpB, enolase, elongation factor Tu, IMPDH, and GroEL, which possess features characteristic of good candidates for immunodiagnostic assays for GBS carriage detection, such as immunoreactivity and specificity. We assume that they can be used as an alternative diagnostic method to the presently recommended bacteriological cultivation and MALDI.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Helicobacter pylori infection during pregnancy has some adverse effects, but its effects are still conflicting. This meta-analysis study was performed to assess the relationship between H pylori infection and adverse effects during pregnancy. METHODS Through a systematic literature search up to August 2020, 31 studies included 16 887 pregnant females at baseline and reported a total of 5852 H pylori infection positive and 8196 H pylori infection negative pregnant females, were found recording relationships between H pylori infection and adverse effects during pregnancy. Odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) was calculated between H pylori infection positive vs H pylori infection negative in adverse effects during pregnancy using the dichotomous methods with a random or fixed-effect model. RESULTS H pylori infection positive during pregnancy was significantly related to higher rate of preeclampsia (OR, 2.68; 95% CI, 2.02-3.56, P < .001), foetal growth restriction (OR, 1.45; 95% CI, 1.26-1.66, P < .001), gestational diabetes mellitus (OR, 2.63; 95% CI, 1.51-4.59, P < .001), and hyperemesis gravidarum (OR, 14.45; 95% CI, 10.24-20.38, P < .001) compared with H pylori infection negative. However, H pylori infection positive during pregnancy was not significantly correlated with spontaneous onset of labour (OR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.83-1.21, P = .98) compared with H pylori infection negative. CONCLUSIONS H pylori infection may have an independent relationship with certain adverse effects during pregnancy. H pylori infection positive during pregnancy was significantly related to a higher rate of preeclampsia, foetal growth restriction, gestational diabetes mellitus, and hyperemesis gravidarum compared with H pylori infection negative. This relationship encouraged us to recommend screening and treating females for H pylori infection before and during pregnancy to avoid any possible complications.

Abstract
Background: Developmental disorders and high Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection rates have been reported. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of H. pylori in a special needs school where all students had developmental disorders in Japan. Methods: In 2017, third-grade junior high school and second- and third-grade high school students attending a special needs school with developmental disorders were enrolled. Participants of Saga Prefecture's H. pylori test and treat project, which comprised third-grade junior high school students not from special needs school, were assigned to the control group. Results: In the control group, H. pylori positive results were 3.18% (228/7,164) students. Similarly, in developmental disorder group, H. pylori positive results were 6.80% (13/191) students. For the developmental disorder and control groups, this present examination sensitivity was 7.03% (13/185), specificity was 96.76% (6,815/7,043), positive predictive value was 5.39% (13/241), negative predictive value was 97.54% (6,815/6,987), Likelihood ratio of a positive result 2.17 and Odds ratio was 2.26 (95% confidence interval: 1.27-4.03, p = 0.005). Conclusion: The prevalence of H. pylori infection was significantly higher in adolescents with developmental disorders than in typically developing adolescents.

Abstract
Bacteria do not simply express a constitutive panel of proteins but they instead undergo dynamic changes in their protein repertoire in response to changes in nutritional status and when exposed to different environments. These differentially expressed proteins may be suitable to use for vaccine antigens if they are virulence factors. Immediately upon entry into the host organism, bacteria are exposed to a different environment, which includes changes in temperature, osmotic pressure, pH, etc. Even when an organism has already penetrated the blood or lymphatics and it then enters another organ or a cell, it can respond to these new conditions by increasing the expression of virulence factors to aid in bacterial adherence, invasion, or immune evasion. Stress response proteins such as heat shock proteins and chaperones are some of the proteins that undergo changes in levels of expression and/or changes in cellular localization from the cytosol to the cell surface or the secretome, making them potential immunogens for vaccine development. Herein we highlight literature showing that intracellular chaperone proteins GroEL and DnaK, which were originally identified as playing a role in protein folding, are relocated to the cell surface or are secreted during invasion and therefore may be recognized by the host immune system as antigens. In addition, we highlight literature showcasing the immunomodulation effects these proteins can have on the immune system, also making them potential adjuvants or immunotherapeutics.

Abstract
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a gram-negative pathogen, has been shown to colonize multiple organs and cause various forms of extra-gastrointestinal diseases. The association of H. pylori infection with vitamin D status in apparently healthy children remained unclear; therefore, we investigated the relationship between vitamin D and H. pylori infection among apparently healthy infants and toddlers. In this large cross-sectional study, the examination data of children were collected from January 2013 to September 2017 in the Center for Children's Health Care. Among these children, 6,896 infants and toddlers were screened for our study. Helicobacter pylori infection and vitamin D status were the main indicators, and micronutrients (zinc, iron, copper, magnesium), and growth parameters (height, weight, and weight for age Z score [WAZ], height for age Z score [HAZ]) were also analyzed in this study. Among the 6,896 infants and toddlers, the detection rate of H. pylori seropositivity was 30.6%. The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in H. pylori seropositive and seronegative groups was 20.7% and 12.1%, respectively (P < 0.001). The logistic regression analysis suggested children with H. pylori-positive antibody were 2.06 times more likely to be vitamin D deficient compared with children who had negative H. pylori antibody (odds ratio: 2.06; 95% CI: 1.77, 2.38) after controlling for confounding factors. These data suggested that there was a significant association between H. pylori seropositivity and vitamin D deficiency in children aged 6-36 months, which would make a contribution to the treatment and monitoring of vitamin D deficiency and H. pylori infection.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To estimate the current evidence regarding the association between Helicobacter pylori infection during pregnancy and adverse pregnancy outcomes. MATERIALS AND METHODS A systematic literature search for relevant publications was conducted using PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of science databases through November 17th, 2018. The pooled odds ratios (ORs) with their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were selected as the effect size. Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were performed. RESULTS Thirty-one studies with a total of 22 845 participants were identified. There was significant association of H pylori infection with preeclampsia (OR: 2.51; 95% CI: 1.88-3.34; P < 0.001), fetal growth restriction (OR: 2.28; 95% CI: 1.21-4.32; P = 0.01), gestational diabetes mellitus (OR: 2.03; 95% CI: 1.56-2.64; P < 0.001), spontaneous abortion (OR: 1.50; 95% CI: 1.05-2.14; P = 0.024), and birth defect (OR: 1.63; 95% CI: 1.05-2.54; P = 0.03). Sensitivity analysis showed the significant association between H pylori infection and low birthweight (OR: 1.59; 95% CI: 1.05-2.40; P = 0.03). CONCLUSION The present meta-analysis offers proof to support that H pylori infection during pregnancy can increase the risk on adverse pregnancy outcomes. Screening and treating for H pylori infection before pregnancy should be taken into account.
